Wedding Guest Etiquette - Duration: 8:13.
Welcome back to the Gentleman's Gazette and our wedding series.
Today, we discuss wedding etiquette and the thirteen do's and don'ts of guests at weddings.
Chances are, you've seen a guest behave poorly at a wedding where that's being totally wasted
or just telling dirty jokes, or just being a jerk.
It's just that kind of time when all the relatives are down, everybody's there and happy and
there is that one bad guest that everyone remembers for the rest of their lifetime and
you don't want to be that terrible guest that everybody thinks of not so fondly and actually
resents.
As a guest, you are there to support and celebrate the bride and groom and here are the thirteen
do's and don'ts that you should keep in mind at any wedding.
First of all, do rsvp in a timely manner.
The wedding couple and the entire team has spent a lot of time, money, and effort to
plan this whole event and they want to know as soon as possible who they can expect at
their event.
if it turns out that you RSVP'd with yes and you have a major life event and can't come,
let them know as soon as possible so they can make arrangements and maybe invite someone
else or get their money back.
Nothing is more disappointing to a bride and groom to have guests be disrespectful by either
not RSVPing or RSVPing and not showing up.
If you pull that on them, they will not invite you to any other event again.
Don't ask to add guests to an invitation.
If the invitation says plus one, you can bring another person, not three others.
If it says plus family, it means you can bring your family.
If it says no children and you have children, you have to find a babysitter or someone who
takes care of your kids and you can't ask to bring your kids because they specifically
don't want that.
It can be hard for them to say no but you should respect their wishes and if you can't
make it work, simply say no and regretfully decline but don't show up with more people
or ask for more.
The reason is, every wedding couple has to make hard decisions about their guest list
and you just make it even harder on them when you bring those requests.
Do respect the dress code.
If the invitation has a dress code, follow it.
If you're not sure what it means, please check out our dress code primer video here.
Popular dress codes for weddings include cocktail attire, we have a special video for that here.
As well as black tie or black tie optional and you can find more about that in this video.
If the invitation does not state a dress code, you should definitely ask the wedding couple,
of course, you know them, and you kind of have an idea of what they want and how they
dress normally.
But weddings are different and so you should always make an effort to reach out so you
know in advance.
Four, do buy a gift from the registry or give them cash.
Nobody's interested in your self-knitted blankets, your old vases, or your hand me down glasses.
Either, get the couple something from the registry because that's what they specifically
want and just because you like something, does not mean it fits their home and lifestyle.
If you can't run anything on the registry anymore that you actually want to give or
you think is out of your budget, give cash.
As a newly married couple, you need to make lots of decisions, choices, and purchases,
and cash will always help.
So how much cash should you give?
Well, that really depends on the culture.
If you're in Spain for example, you're expected to pay for a very expensive dinner and then
it's not unusual to pay 200-300 euro as a gift per person.
In Germany for example, where I'm from, it's not uncommon that you give about 75-150 euros
per person.
In the US on the other hand, it's not unheard of that guests pay about $20 per person for
a wedding and in my opinion, that's almost worse than not giving anything at all because
it's almost like an insult.
In most places, you should try to at least pay $50-100, that way, it shows that it's
a meaningful event and if you can't do that, maybe come up with a creative solution, a
gift that you know they'll enjoy, they invited you after all and if it's not within your
budget, don't go into debt but make sure that you can do the best that's possible for you.
Five, Do go with the flow.
Chances are the bride and groom made lots of plans and this is the time for you to relax,
just sit back, enjoy and go with the flow.
If you're supposed to be at a cocktail hour at five, don't go somewhere else and show
up at six.
Just make sure you respect their plans and show up on time.
Six, don't be greedy at an open bar.
In most cultures, if you're invited to a wedding, that means you're not expected to pay for
anything and everything is included.
In the US however, it's not uncommon to have a cash bar where guests are expected to pay
for alcoholic beverages.
Now sometimes, you'll find an open bar and that's because the wedding couple wants to
be very generous and just wants you to have a good time.
That does not mean you should abbuse it and order the most expensive scotch you can get
your hands on.
Simply be respectful.
Order a drink, someone has to pay for it.
Which brings us to number seven, do drink in moderation.
It's great to have a drink and relax and be jolly but it's not okay to have eight drinks
and be totally drunk and pass out and maybe puke into the corner.
That's something you want to avoid and it really ruins that wedding day for the bride
and groom who spent so much time and effort and money on this event.
Nobody will ever forget that you were the drunk while at the wedding and they may tease
you for it years later.
Eight, Don't encourage over consumption of others.
That means, don't buy shots, not for the groom, or anybody else, and this is not a frat party,
this is a wedding.
So don't overdo it.
Nine, do leave the drama at home.
This is not the time to rehash old stories or disputes.
This is the time to enjoy and come together.
If you have to, swallow your pride.
Ten, don't embarrass the wedding couple by trying to be the center of attention.
That means as a woman, do not wear a white dress, that's reserved for the bride.
Same as the men, don't wear shiny dinner jackets, or big boutonnieres, or top hats as the guest
because that's not about you, it's about them.
Eleven, don't arrive late or leave the event early.
If you have a major other conflicts with your schedule and you can't make it work, simply
don't attend.
it's just very disrespectful to show up late when they are in the middle of the ceremony
or to just leave early because it just tells the wedding couple you don't care enough to
stay.
Twelve, do say goodbye to the bride and groom in person.
It is their day and yes, they don't have time to spend an hour and talking to all their
guests.
The least you can do is say goodbye personally with a handshake, with a hug, and thank them
personally that they invited you.
At our wedding, guests snuck out and I never invited them to anything again and for many
others, it's just a very disrespectful gesture and sometimes, I even heard people say "Oh,
the meal is done.
Now I can go!" and that just creates a really bad mood that you want to avoid as a guest.
You want to be a good guest.
Number thirteen, do plan a safe ride home if you had a few drinks.
DO not drive yourself.
Get a lift or an Uber or even an old school cab or have someone drive who didn't drink.
That way, you get home safely and everybody is happy.
If you follow these thirteen simple guidelines, I'm sure you'll be a wedding guest that is
well remembered, respected, and thought of fondly.
If you enjoyed this video, please make sure to check out our other videos in the wedding
series that cover everything from how to buy an engagement ring to how to wear black tie.

Tip 5 - Honesty - Duration: 4:23.
Hello my name is Dr. Chan, i'm Dean of Admissions at the University of Utah
School of Medicine. I'm talking today about honesty, our fifth tip in our
series about how to get your application ready for medical school. I preach and I
practice be honest with who you are and what you have done. I have this really
great friend, my friend is named Google and Google works on the Internet. When
you apply to medical school, we take your word for the most part. However, we still
have the ability to google and look up different aspects of your application.
Let me give you a couple of examples, go back to Jack and Jill. Let's
pretend Jack felt he did a really great job in his research
you know efforts during undergrad. He worked in a lab, spent a lot of time, a lot of late
nights, put in a lot of work. When it came time to publish, Jack made a significant
contribution and felt that you know when he got submitted that his name should
have been third on the list of authors with that research publication. However,
Jack learned a few months later that in fact he only was listed fifth. So when
Jack fills out his application for medical school, he better be sure that he
lists himself as fifth, because if he puts himself as third on the research
publication, my buddy Google can discover that very quickly.
And, if there's any discrepancy, if it appears that you were being dishonest if
Jack is being dishonest, it throws into doubt his entire application.
Let's talk about Jill. Let's pretend Jill played softball for a local college for
your local university, and as she was writing up she talked about how she was
academic all-american for two years, was team softball captain and she led the
league in homeruns, the pac-12. Let's say that. Again, I have this buddy named
Google, we can figure that out in the admissions committee! So if Jill didn't do
any of those things, that will be very very apparent. The same could be said for
founding a business. Now when you fill out your application you have
this spot where you write down numbers, phone numbers for people who can verify
that you did these activities for the hours you did them. I really recommend
not putting yourself ok, or don't put a family member. List the person who
actually supervised and mentored you.
So going back to Jack and his research publication, he should list the the
primary author, the principal investigator as the contact person, name
and phone number. For Jill for her softball team coach you should list the
name and phone number. If you founded a business, you should you know a partner
or someone that was part of that process. So I liken this unto medicine in many
different ways. We inherently trust our patients. When our patients tell us they
take these medications or they tell us they have these conditions, we believe
them. We believe our patients up until a point we have reason to doubt them. So I
like this phrase by Ronald Reagan, you "trust but verify". So when you apply to
medical school, is there someone on the admissions committee that's going to go
through every single phone number and every single activity and verify that the
numbers are accurate and they actually did these type of things?
No, we don't have the manpower for that, it's impossible to do that. However, does
our medical school and most other medical schools do they randomly do you know,
analysis on certain applications and randomly pick out certain activities
just to trust but verify? Oh yes, oh yes! So again it's kind of like doing your taxes
you want to be honest, you don't want to be audited, you want to be honest.
So I preach honesty when you fill out your application. Don't oversell what you
do, let your application speak for itself.
Let's go back to Jack's example. If Jack truly felt that he deserved to be third
author on that paper and not the fifth, he needs to go in and take care of that
ASAP. He doesn't do that through our office, he does that with his principal
investigator, he does that with the scientific journal it got submitted to.
You need to fundamentally change the way you document on your application.
So a little tip I have for you is Google your own activities and experiences and
see what pops up, because that's the exact same thing that these different
committee members will do. I hope you enjoyed my little lesson, my little
preaching us on honesty, I look forward to seeing applications. Thank you.

You Really Need to Open This: Behavioral Economics & Property Taxes - Duration: 3:48.
Were you nervous when you first got the data, that it wasn't going to work?
Yeah, absolutely.
Every year I send out notices to taxpayers.
And it's just kind of a friendly reminder.
And it even says that, friendly reminder.
Please pay your taxes.
On time!
So the question we asked was, are there really small changes that we can make to this reminder
letter that would make them more likely to pay?
So what we did was, we made two very small changes to the reminder letter itself.
And then on the outside of the envelope we wrote a personalized, handwritten reminder
note.
And we split the total population of about 14,000 letter recipients into three groups.
One was a control group, they received the same letter, business as usual, nothing changed.
One group received the altered letter.
And one group received the same altered letter, but with the handwritten note on the outside
of the envelope.
I sent out a pleading e-mail to a group of about 15 classmates saying, 'Please, please,
give me a couple of hours of your time tonight and I need you to write the exact same thing
on the outside of as many envelopes as you possibly can.
I got an enormous excel file with about over 14,000 entries.
so our task was to clean that data up a little bit and then it was to essentially isolate
certain variables and look for the strength of the correlation between the likelihood
of on-time payment and the test group that that person was in.
So today was a really exciting day, we got to take one of our recent graduates to Guilford
County to present the findings from his masters project to the local government there.
(Good morning! Good to see you!)
So, my name's Tyler Gamble and I am very excited to be here this morning.
The top line results were the handwritten note on the outside of your envelope, along
with the altered letter, increased your likelihood of a full on-time payment by about 31%.
You're talking about urgency and saliency.
And probably more importantly, you're triggering what's known in behavioral economics as this
idea of reciprocity.
If you see a literal handwritten note that you know a human being wrote, it triggers
what is almost this sense of empathy.
You know that someone put time and effort into delivering you this letter, they are
invested in your response to this letter.
And I think that's particularly important in government because it takes away this idea
of this kind of faceless, bureaucracy and reminds you, even if it's just subconsciously,
that this is a human endeavor and that someone is on the other side of this letter and someone
cares about what you do with this envelope.
I didn't know the specific results until this morning.
And I was surprised, pleasantly surprised, greatly surprised.
I actually kind of threw my hands up a little bit in my office because it was like, "Yes,
this worked!"
It's really exciting to think that something so simple can influence people's behavior
in a positive way.
I think Tyler's story is a really great and exciting story.
It reflects our school's growing interest in working with local governments and how
rewarding that is for both local governments and students.
So we want our students to leave with the confidence and creativity to be able to develop
new ideas, to be able to make a case for why that idea should be tested out.
And I think what we see in Tyler is someone who's leaving our program with all of those
skills to be a problem solver.

Why You Don't Understand Native English Speakers - Duration: 3:51.
Hi! My name is Jason Palmer and I'm an English teacher from Toronto, Canada.
Today we're going to talk about three reasons why you might not understand
native English speakers. Reason number one - native speakers sound funny. Now
the reason for this is that most native speakers have their own personal English
really. If you think about it, native speakers might come from different
countries. They come from different cities they come from different towns.
Quite often it can be more difficult to understand native speakers who are from
small towns and villages because they might speak very quickly, they might blur
the sounds they use together and perhaps they don't really use maybe a high-level
or academic English sometimes. So, all of these things can make it difficult to
understand them. Also native speakers might have their own personal habits or
phrases that they use a lot, but no one else uses so this could make it quite
complicated. Every native speaker uses their own pronunciation and ways to
express things, and again this makes it hard. So, if you don't understand one
native speaker, don't be discouraged, you might understand many more. Ok, reason
number two you might be too used to classroom English. Now, the problem with
this is that classroom English is very good for getting started at learning a
language. It is very important to learn the basic vocabulary, basic expressions
and the proper grammar, but in real life native speakers don't speak using
classroom English. They really like to use their own phrases their own slang
and they don't always speak with perfect grammar actually. So, this could make it
difficult if you're only used to classroom English.
So, quite often it's useful to listen to native speakers on the street or watch
movies or TV shows in English. That will give you a much better idea of what real
or natural English sounds like. Finally reason number three is that you might
not know enough phrasal verbs or idioms. So, in English there are a lot of phrasal
verbs that native speakers use every day. These aren't commonly used in writing
but when we speak we often use phrasal verbs. I always recommend to my students
to study many many phrasal verbs. Also learning idioms is helpful as well.
They can be much more difficult to learn, but it's important to be able to
understand them. So, phrasal verbs and idioms are a great way to understand
native speakers better and to sound more natural yourself. So, to review three ways
that you can understand native speakers better: realize that native speakers
might sound funny depending on who you're talking to; also remember that you
might be used to classroom English a little bit too much; and three remember
to learn phrasal verbs and idioms this will help you to understand native
speakers much more. So, this has been Jason Palmer. I'll see you next time

Digium D80 IP Phones Training | 06 How to Transfer a Call - Duration: 5:05.
Welcome to the Digium IP Phone Training series "How to Transfer a Call" video.
While you are on an active call, you may need to send that call to another extension or
phone number.
You complete this task by transferring the call.
Following these simple steps, you can transfer calls to other extensions, to outside callers,
directly to voicemail, and even choose whether or not you wish to announce the caller to
the person receiving the call.
There are two main types of call transfers.
A Blind Transfer sends the caller directly to the person receiving the transfer.
An Assisted Transfer allows you to speak with the person receiving the transfer before completing
the transfer.
The fastest transfer method is called a Blind Transfer.
This method allows you to rapidly send a call to another party or their voicemail.
An Assisted Transfer allows you to talk with the party you are transferring to before the
transfer is completed.
This process helps to facilitate a positive customer experience during the transfer.
Transferring a call always starts by tapping the Transfer button on an active caller's
Call Card.
The call is put on hold allowing you to manage the transfer without disrupting the original
caller.
While on a call, tap the Transfer button on the caller's Call Card.
Then tap the Keypad Button on the Tool Bar.
When the Keypad appears on the screen, dial the extension or phone number of the person
to whom you wish to transfer the call.
To complete a Blind Transfer, tap the green Complete Transfer button on the Keypad Or,
to begin an Assisted Transfer, tap the green Dial button, which starts a new call to your
recipient.
When you are ready to complete the assisted transfer, tap the Complete button on the new
recipient's Call Card.
If you wish to cancel the assisted transfer, press the End button on the new recipient's
Call Card.
You may then tap the Resume button to speak with the original caller, or enter a new extension
or phone number to try again.
While on a call, tap the Transfer button on the active call and then swipe from the left
to right to access the Navigation Drawer.
You may also tap the menu button to access the Navigation Drawer.
Tap the Contacts button to open the Contacts Application
Scroll through your list of contacts.
You may also search to locate the contact you wish to transfer to.
To search either by phone number, first name, or last name, tap the search button.
To perform a blind transfer, tap the name for the contact.
This will open the contact's Contact Details card where you can transfer to the contact's
main number, other numbers they have defined, or their voicemail box.
Tap the Dial button and then tap the complete button to complete the blind transfer.
To begin an Assisted Transfer to your contact, tap the transfer button and then swipe left
to right to open the applications drawer.
Tap Contacts to open the Contacts application.
Find your contact and tap the phone number for the contact you wish to call.
A new call card will be displayed.
If you wish to complete the assisted transfer, tap the Complete button.
To cancel the assisted transfer, tap the End button.
You may then tap the Resume button to speak with the original caller, or start the process
over to try again.
If you have Favorites set up with your often-used phone numbers, then transferring a call is
very easy.
During an active call, tap the Transfer button to start the transfer.
Next, tap the Favorites button from the Task Bar and then tap the Favorite Key for the
contact to whom you wish to transfer the call.
This will start an assisted transfer to that Favorite.
If you want to use a Blind Transfer to send calls directly to your Favorites you can change
the behavior of your Favorites in your Web User Portal.
To access the User Portal you will need your extension number and password.
If you do not have this information, contact your system administrator.
From the Web User Portal, using the "features" drop-down menu, select Phone Features.
Next, select the "Rapid Dial Keys" tab.
Then, click the Digium Phone Options button.
Set "Blind Transfer Rapid Dial" to "Yes" and click Save. The next time you start a transfer
while on a call and tap the Favorite's contact, it will send the call directly to the recipient
using a Blind Transfer.
Thank you for watching the Digium IP Phone Training series "How to Transfer a Call"

Why You Should Know if Your Beef is Brazilian (HBO) - Duration: 1:55.
This month, legislators in South Dakota and Wyoming
struck down attempts to make country of origin labels
mandatory for beef sold to consumers.
It's an important issue,
because beef from Brazil is now in U.S. markets again,
and buyers might pass if they knew the meat's true cost.
Brazil is the world's second largest beef producer,
harboring over 200-million heads of cattle at any given time.
Since 2003, however, the Brazilian beef industry
has been barred from sending its meat to the U.S.,
because of the threat of mad cow disease.
Now, the U.S. government has determined that Brazilian beef
is once again up to U.S. standards for food safety,
and so, on October 15th, the U.S. received its first shipment
of Brazilian beef in Philadelphia,
and that's a pretty grim piece of news for the environment.
The shipments mean that,
for the first time in over a decade,
Americans could find themselves eating burgers
that directly contribute to Amazonian deforestation,
an enormous barrier in our ability to fight climate change.
Critics say the Brazilian beef industry
has shown a longstanding disregard for the rainforest,
and according to the UN's Food and Agriculture Organization,
the industry is the single largest driver of Amazon deforestation.
This put Brazil on the map for having the largest net loss
of forested area in any country between 1990 and 2010.
Today, cattle occupy 60% of deforested land in the Brazilian Amazon.
And Brazil releases about 80-million tonnes of carbon per year
into the atmosphere, because of land degradation,
the spread of human settlements, and agriculture.
In the last 10 years, rising demand for Brazilian beef
has caused more than 17,300 square miles of Amazon deforestation.
That's 2.6-billion trees.

Where can you find the doctrine of the rapture in the Bible? - Duration: 1:42.
nkerberg: Yeah.
Let's track that a little bit, because people do say, "Hey, where do you find the doctrine
of the rapture in the Bible?"
And it's there, but it's in the Greek word harpazo.
But when they translated the Bible into Latin, what happened, Ron?
Rhodes: Well, they used a word, raptus, which comes from another word, rapere.
And that's where we get the word rapture.
And it means literally to snatch up or to seize.
It actually means to forcefully seize.
And so this is not going to be some kind of a kind and gentle catching up to be with the
Lord in the air, but rather it's going to be a forceful snatching by the Lord of His
people up into the air.
Ankerberg: Yeah.
Now, this whole thing of "the dead in Christ shall rise first, then we which are alive
and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord," not
in Boston, but "in the air."
Talk about that.
Hindson: Well, I think that's important in the whole concept of this passage.
This is a coming of the Lord in the air, in the clouds, to catch the bride of Christ up
to heaven, to the Father's house.
He's not at this point coming to the earth; He doesn't touch the earth.
They're caught up in the air.
So this idea of the rapture is not unique just to this passage.
Enoch was raptured, Elijah was raptured, you have raptures throughout the Bible.
You have the two witnesses raptured up in the book of Revelation.
It's not only taught here, it's really a concept taught throughout Scripture that
the Lord has such a plan and a purpose for a person's ultimate destiny.
He is coming not only for your spirit, but for your body as well.

views and even if you've it even if it's not a good video if you promote it right
there should be at least you know a certain amount of views so this way is
five ways that you can promote your video instantly to get traffic to your
videos and it's free no money which of course there will be options to spend
money but we'll talk about that ham a little bit okay so the first one is a
social media preview video what you're going to do is going to go into Premiere
Pro or whatever editing software that you use and you have your whole video
that you upload to YouTube what you're going to do is you're going
to take a part in the video that's interesting something that's going to
catch some of these attention kind of like a cliffhanger if you will so you
take that cliffhanger part let's say it's let's just say it's this part right
here and so we'll delete this and delete everything after that and let's zoom in
a little bit okay so let's say this is the let's say this is the teaser this
whole blah blah blah so what you're going to do is you're
going to go here and then when it finishes you're going to go up here to
file go to new go to legacy title which they change that recently if you were
wondering where that went and now we have a black screen so we could put
watch watch full video on it's a little bigger here take that put
that there file import it's a solid color logo for
that in there okay resize this a little bit which fits nicely that watch full
video on your YouTube okay so now when they play the whole clip it will end it
cliffhanger scene the point of this trick is to try to catch them and bring
them to YouTube from Facebook which that's difficult so then we go over
Facebook if you have a Facebook page for your YouTube channel which I suggest you
do because it's great for promoting so you go here go here we're going to
upload this video find it we've uploaded which I already did
takes a while so I'll show you the finished product so that's what you end
up getting you've got a nice video here just you know clipping or blah blah blah
I wouldn't make it too long you do it like that too you can be a little more
designing if you want I want to make it too long though
you want the most interesting not the most interesting but you want an
interesting part in there something to hook the viewer to bring them to YouTube
and then you put the link in the description the thing about putting just
the link to the YouTube on your thing is Facebook does not like YouTube they're
competitors and they will it will not go as far as this would so you can see here
this video did 502 views what you can do from there is you take that share it on
a page it's relevant there's a bunch of YouTube groups I did this video on
fidgets spinners and it was a relevant topic at the time so you share that and
people keep sharing that's what you hope for
and that's one way to get views on your video okay now way to is also a social
media way but it doesn't include the video it includes the thumbnail the
point I'm making a thumbnail is so it catches somebody's interest and they
want to click on your video so let's put that over on Facebook so you can see
here this was from a beard versus no beards and debate I had I made this
now and then I uploaded it as a picture and just included the link above same
scenario you would share this in groups that it's relevant in obviously this
would be like near Shave November in November via relevant video and then
they would see that click link you can also do this on Twitter Instagram
whatever you want and it basically works the same way it's but it's really about
making that catchy thumbnail that really would tweak some RINs interest in doing
that ok the third way is a little tricky it has to do with reddit if you don't
know what it is it's an awesome website and if you're going to use reddit for
this reason I suggest you be a part of the community don't just go on in push
your videos out and stuff like that you know be a part of it just like you know
you're part of YouTube you're part of a group I like hanging out you know hang
out on one of these sub reddits I like the jokes one myself just telling jokes
listening jokes and stuff just be a part of the community that's good shouts
laughs okay okay down on the right hand side you'll see like the rules and stuff
what they you know you've got to follow these you know thoughts about political
blah blah blah all content must be original and usually they'll say what
the page is about so shower thought is a loose term that
applies to those types of thoughts you might have while carrying out a routine
tasks like showering daydreaming and so on
so if your video would be relevant for something like this you would post a
link and idea of it here is that it gets uploaded and downloaded fair warning
people on reddit are very critical if you don't have good videos you will know
very fast and if you have a good video a lot of times you still will get
downloaded a lot of that has to do with finding the right subreddit though if
you post a video here that has nothing to do with what the community in the
subway is about then you're probably not going to get anywhere so the fourth way
is a site called sherry comm I'll leave a link down the description below it
basically set up you put your video out same concept people will you know watch
it comment on stuff but I like this one because we'll go over here we'll go to
new share and obviously we won't let it okay before you can share something
today you must comment on three shares by others so we'll go back and it's cool
because every you know you get to see other people's videos so you know you
would click on this guy's video watch it you know if you don't like it you don't
have to comment or you can give them a review just tell them how you did on the
video and then after you do those three you'll be able to share your own video
and then it will be on a page like this there's just views and comments and
stuff is not really a download kind of thing these are other youtubers so they
are sent community could be you other you know if you guys know how to you
sherry and I'm missing something then comment down below and last but not
least is Google Plus now Google Plus is kind of a dying community you don't see
a lot of people use the same thing that will leave some spammy stuff in there as
you can see so you go over to communities you have a buttload of
youtube promotion stuff the bad thing about this is you know people just drop
links and do whatever they want to do here you can promote your videos and
channels during the community it doesn't have a download but it does have an
upload plus one it kind of moves it to the top of page so you go here you know
you put a link sometimes that's classifications I'm
like here gaming the sky putting gaming videos they put this one news stuff like
that promote your video this doesn't bring it kind of traffic to your channel
but it does bring a lot of people that are already on YouTube so with the
Facebook thing it's it's kind of a 50/50 thing because you have to bring people
from Facebook to YouTube whoever's on this page obviously is a youtuber and
it's more likely that they would come to your channel because of this just don't
drop a link though you know write a description hey guys check out my
channel let me know what you think just don't make it spammy because we all hate
that stuff you know that's basically all I got for you today I do have some other
ways they cost some money though this is just a this is what I do when I see the
video to get it out there as soon as possible you want to do it within the
first 24 hours because it's very crucial just make sure if you're sharing this on
social you or your showing it in a group
somewhere that you share it in the right groups because if you shooting the video
about you know how to bake a cake and you share it in a group about you know
cars or something obviously the videos not going to take off you guys have any
tips and tricks on how you guys promote videos in the first 24 hours or anyway
just to get traffic to your channel leave a comment down below let's all
know because we need to grow together YouTube is community but enough for all
of us if you like this video do me the honor and hit that subscribe button down
below I'd really appreciate it remember it doesn't matter what kind of YouTube
you are if your content creator your YouTube filmmaker so set goals dare fail
and always the dream chaser will see in the next video

The Storytelling Sales Pitch in an Elevator - Duration: 3:49.
I heard the craziest thing on an elevator the other day... and I thought of you.
Here's the story: I stepped onto an elevator at the airport and three people followed behind
me -- a young woman and two young men.
The door closed and the woman turned to her friends and asked, "Do you know where my parents
are right now?"
The guys shook their heads.
"They're at a burial service for my grandfather's friend who died at Pearl Harbor.
They just found the body, and they're going to pay their respects to good ol' Uncle Mike."
One floor later, the doors opened and the trio stepped off, leaving me alone in the
elevator…………….
I admit, I almost jumped out after them but the heavy steel doors slammed shut; mocking
both my curiosity and hesitation.
Now you've probably heard the debate -- For decades, sales and marketing experts have
been trying to solve the "elevator pitch" conundrum: how to deliver enough information
and create enough intrigue that if all you had was a one-floor elevator journey with
a prospect, they would want to learn more.
Certainly, these travelers weren't trying to sell anything--but that's exactly the point.
Their elevator pitch wasn't a pitch at all--it was a story.
Which made me think – that's probably what ALL pitches should be….
If you've ever struggled with the dreaded elevator pitch, here are three simple steps
to help.
FIRST, – the story needs a sense of wonder, intrigue, or mystery….World War II, Pearl
Harbor, and finding the remains of a forgotten soldier decades later is heavy on intrigue….Your
pitch can tap into this same element of disbelief and intrigue.
Did you stumble upon a solution you couldn't believe actually existed and built a company?
Tell that story.
Did you or someone you know encounter a problem you couldn't believe didn't have a solution?
Tell that story.
And if, after 30 seconds, it's time to exit the elevator, at least you'll leave the listener
with a mystery they'll want to investigate.
And when they do, they'll find you.
SECOND.
Leave out the information (yes, almost all of it).
It'll be difficult to resist mentioning the features of your product or the year-over-year
revenue growth, but resist you must.
All of those facts and bits of information are utterly forgettable.
If you only have a few moments with someone, use it on a story they'll remember.
LAST, Disconnect from the outcome--let the story do its job…
What if Jesus told the story of not hiding your light under a bushel and then asked listeners
for a bulk order of candles.
Or if Martin Luther King Jr. told the world about the dream he had and then asked people
to please leave their business cards in a bowl at the back of the Mall.
Spend time developing a story compelling enough you don't even NEED a call to action.
I arrived home from the airport that evening and told my husband the story of the best
elevator pitch ever (and admitted to almost losing a limb in the elevator shaft trying
to chase them down to hear the rest).
Together, we Googled "Mike Pearl Harbor body found" and read about the new DNA testing
that meant families could finally lay their loved ones to rest.
Indeed, there had been a service that day--the one the young woman's parents were likely
attendingI hope this helps the next time you have to explain what you do in the amount
of time it would take to ride from one floor to another in an elevator… until next time!

How not to get shot in Brazil during carnival | How to travel better - Duration: 7:15.
- I got shot and this is what I learnt! - Holy smoke! - All of a sudden I feel
heat in my back and I'm like: "I just got shot in the back!" - I was about to make a
video telling you how much safer carnival in Brazil has become in the last few years and
I turn on YouTube and I see that Jo from Damon and Jo has been shot at Rio
carnival where I'd just come from. It's just completely crazy.
Fortunately Jo seems to be okay. Speedy recovery! So this video is about how to
avoid getting shot at carnival in Brasil and staying safe.
In the past I actually have seen people taking out weapons and shooting during
carnival in Brazil. I saw it in Salvador de Bahia two years ago. It was the
police who were chasing some guy in the crowd, they took out a gun and they
started shooting so I had already learned some lessons from that
experience. So number one suggestion I would make is minimize your time in
places that are just going to be more dangerous than others and I don't want to tell
people you shouldn't go to Rio you shouldn't go to Tijuca, you shouldn't go
to Brazil that's not the case. It's my favorite country in the world.
You should go! Areas in Rio for example like where Jo was in Tijuca or maybe
in Lapa in Santa Teresa I go there but I don't go there as much as say other
areas of the city that I feel are just more safer maybe like Leblon. I also
don't go to Copacabana as much. If you were to choose between the three beaches that
are the most famous like Copacabana Ipanema and Leblon I would stick more to
Ipanema or Leblon. Of course you have crime in all three parts but I just find
that Copacabana has an extremely high rate of pick pocketing in my experience
and I don't feel as safe there. I've seen a lot of people robbed in Brazil at
carnival in particular a lot of foreigners. So the second thing that I
advise you to do when you go to carnival in Brazil is not to keep your cellphone
or your camera somewhere that can be easily got at so what I do instead
I actually keep it in the front of my shorts, somewhere it's secure so don't
ever put it in your back pocket. Please! That's going to be so easy for a thief
to get at and a lot of these crimes are accompanied with violence they will just
grab you and maybe hit you at the same time as a distraction so you really got to
be careful. I mean you can take your camera out,
just be careful. Always look around when when you take it out so that there's no
one nearby who looks like they might be able to get at it or someone ... or
someone who looks a little bit suspicious like they're going to try and
grab it or there's a huge crowd of people because that's what happens at
carnival sometimes there's so many people you can't really control what's going on,
where you are and then you know it's very easy for someone to take it
because you won't you might even notice. So the third thing I advise you to do
when you go to Rio carnival is to take off your jewellery like things like your watch
things like expense ... anything expensive that you're wearing on your wrist, any
expensive chains you might have, take the leave them at the hotel where your
apartment your hostel where you stay just don't bring them to the carnival
because that's something that can easily grabbed, it's a value. Having said that my
buddy decided that he would take out his extremely expensive watch and we went
pipoca which means 'popcorn' in Portuguese. That means basically we on the street
which is in Salvador de Bahia during the carnival and we were
basically the only foreign who did that and it's probably the most dangerous place
to be but somehow he got away with it.
The biggest risk taker in all of Brazil tonight. Can he go two nights in a row with his fantastic
US$8,000 watch in the middle of carnival? I guess no potential thief thought
that anyone would be crazy enough to bring an almost $10,000 watch with them to
the ... to the street carnival and actually no one tried to steal it which was weird
but okay most people would have a plastic watch or a watch that's not valuable so now
the fourth thing I advise you to do during carnival in Brazil is and in
Brazil in general is if you can avoid it do not take public buses in big cities
in cities like Rio, Salvador even waiting at the bus stop is a place where
a lot of people get robbed and also on the buses and that's also local people
it's not just because you're a foreigner and a visitor to the city and the country
that happens to a lot of Brazilians. They tell me that they get robbed on the
buses. Normally I never take buses but that I was looking for an uber and suddenly
the bus actually stopped right in front of me. I'd actually been in Copacabana
and I wanted to go to Leblon so I know it's not that far. It's a few stops to get off
and actually when I sat on the bus, there was a guy beside me, young young black guy and
he said to me: "Dude, I'm from Rochina", which is a favela, which is a shantytown
in Rio de Janeiro. He said: "Even I'm scared on this bus. So man you need to get off it!"
So please if you can avoid it, take a taxi
take an uber whatever. Do not take buses if you can avoid them. It's a place
where a lot of crime takes place. The fifth thing I advise you to do is if you
see some trouble like that time where I saw police take out the gun on the
street in Salvador and shoot at the guy, shoot up some guy they were trying to,
I guess, apprehend is don't hang around. Don't hang around if anyone takes out a
gun or there's some sort of commotion! Try to get out of there as quick as
possible because you might get hit in the crossfire you might not be the
target right but you know people start shooting who knows where the bullets
will go. Don't hang around to for some entertainment because it can go terribly
wrong. So touch wood that you go to when you go to Brazil you don't have any
problems. I've actually never been robbed. I've never been beaten up. I've never
been shot thankfully in Brazil. So I really want to encourage you to go to
the country because it's just an amazing place. So hopefully there are no problems for me on my
next trip to Brazil. Considering going back for the Oktoberfest. You might find
that a bit strange. Why Oktoberfest in Brazil? Actually Brazil has the second
and third biggest Oktoberfests in the world. This is kind of like the German
beer festival. The biggest is of course in Munich in southern Germany and I'll
be going back for that in October. [Portuguese] Hello! I'm here in the south of Brazil
in Santa Cruz do Sul.
[German] - I don't know what it's called but here
in Santa Cruz we speak High German [Hochdeutsch]. - High German in the city? - In the city.
- How many people come to the Oktoberfest normally? - 200,000 - 200,000!
So if you enjoyed this video you found it useful give it a big thumbs
up and if you want to go a little bit deeper into traveling and language
learning, I have some free training that will help you with these specific things
how to avoid these kind of situations where you stand out more as a tourist
that you kind of blend in more and you have a more local experience and for
that you need to be on my mailing list. It's completely free. I have the free
training as well there so there's a link to that below the video in the
description so please stay safe and see you in the next video language!

The Kingdom Patterns - Find you next step! - Episode 3/6 - Summits - Duration: 27:45.
Hello and welcome to another episode of Livewire and we're looking at the Kingdom Patterns.
In this series, we're looking at how God directs us and we can find our next steps,
the different patterns that God uses to transform our thinking so that we can test and understand his will,
and today we're looking at summits.
The Psalmist has an interesting thing to say when he talks about the way in which his relationship
and his journey is developing with God.
Just listen to these words.
"I will exalt you, O Lord, for you lifted me out of the depths and did not let my enemies gloat over me.
O Lord my God, I called to you for help and you healed me.
O Lord, you brought me up from the grave; you spared me from going down into the pit.
Sing to the Lord, you saints of his; praise his holy name.
For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may remain
for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.
When I felt secure, I said, I shall never be shaken.
O Lord, when you favored me, you made my mountain stand firm; but when you hid your face, I was dismayed."
This Kingdom Pattern is all about how God increases our faith.
God wants you to be successful, but he has a funny way of showing it.
In this passage, you hear the Psalmist talking about God lifting him out of pit and putting
him on a mountain top and then you hear about him going back down again.
When God calls us, obviously the thing that God calls us to requires a level of faith.
Let's look at our diagram.
God gives us this destiny or this dream, I should say.
In this dream we imagine just this increase, we imagine just growing, we imagine the way
that God helps us and we just grow and grow in our faith in a study line.
For instance, if you're a pastor you might imagine that as you grow in your faith,
the numbers in the church just steadily increase.
Or if you're a businessman and you're supporting the work of the Kingdom and doing
Kingdom work in your business, having faith, you imagine that maybe the income or the turnover
of your company growing and things just happening in this very steady and increasing line.
The reality is very different.
In actual fact, this Kingdom Pattern looks more like this.
What you get is a series of mountain tops or summits and valleys or dips.
The highs get higher, but the lows are not as low as they were.
In the journey you might find God take you on, he will show you show you something and
you'll kind of elevate to that kind of faith.
You'll have faith for that thing only to find out that there's a dip and there's
a bigger mountain further ahead.
I want to unpack this a little bit, but let me first read from the book.
"The idea of mountaintop and valley experiences is an old concept in Christianity.
That however, is not what this Kingdom Pattern is about.
It is not the story of incidental growth where we learn to hold onto God when things go wrong.
How short-sighted would that be!
If all we do is grow in our valley experiences, then we will let go of God on our mountain tops.
No. This is not the story of the missing footsteps when we lose control and God carries us.
This is the story of intentional growth.
Because the faith that is grown on a mountain top is greater than that grown in a valley."
That may be a little bit different from what you've heard.
Quite often we're told that our faith is really developed in the depressing times, our low times.
Usually when I hear people talking about God and increasing their faith, it's in the difficult times.
I want to suggest the opposite is true.
I want to suggest today that actually the main thing that God wants to do in our faith
is usually done on the mountain tops.
Let me unpack that by first telling you a story of what happened to me many years ago.
I was in Scotland with a group of friends, and when I was 23, I saw a mountain for the first time in real life.
We all decided that we would climb up this mountain, so I was really excited to get to
the top because I'd never been up a mountain, never seen the panoramic view, so I shot off
fairly quickly running, I was quite young at that time.
Every so often I would turn around and encourage my friends to catch up with me,
but eventually they seemed to just be taking their time and I couldn't see why, so I thought
"forget them, I'm just going to get to the top."
I ran and I walked quickly and I scrambled up to the top, and just as I got over the summit,
I realized that actually I wasn't at the top at all.
There was actually a bigger summit in the distance, but from the base as we started,
as I looked I thought that this was the summit.
You'll see that on the diagram I'm showing you now.
The reality is that when God gives us a vision, all we ever really see are false summits.
We see only the bit that he wants to show us at the time.
We see the bit that we want to get to, the bit that we're excited about.
Why does God only show us false summits?
Let me first quote a president and then we'll do our first workshop.
Abraham Lincoln said "if you want to test a man, make him a failure, but if you want
to really test a man make him a success."
Why would that be the case?
Let's first take a look at our first workshop.
The question I would like to ask here is can you think of a false summit in your life?
If so please share it with your group and what, if anything, you learnt through it.
Perhaps the best person in the Bible to demonstrate this summit process is Peter.
His life was full of highs and lows and absolutely full of false summits, but what God did through
these false summits in Peter's life has lasted forever.
Let me just read where I would consider his first summit to have been or at least one of his first summits.
"The next day the great crowd that had come for the festival heard that Jesus was on his way to Jerusalem.
They took palm branches and went out to meet him, shouting, "Hosanna!
"Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!"
"Blessed is the king of Israel!"
I want you to imagine this scene, Jesus is making this triumphant entry, everybody thinks
he's about to become king, they're waving palm branches, the sign of the Zealots, the
logo if you like, and this must be the moment because Peter is right there by the side of
Jesus just walking in, he's his right hand man almost, walking in and he must be thinking
"three years of discipleship, three years of servanthood, and now here we are about
to take it to Jerusalem for the Kingdom of God.
He must have been so excited feeling this is the final destination.
Then, five days later, he's betrayed Jesus.
Five days later he's alone, five days later he realizes he knows pretty much nothing about
Jesus' plan at all, five days later and he's at rock bottom, or is he?
I think actually he was closer to discovering Jesus' purposes for his life than when he
first saw the great catching of the fish or walked on water.
This is best understood by understanding the types of faith, the first one being what Peter's
faith was at the time which I would call quasi faith.
Peter had what you might call a starter faith, beginner faith, faith enough for a small victory,
the kind of victory that he thought Jesus was going to have.
I'll explain the word quasi in a moment, but first let me ask you a question.
Have you ever been arrested?
I've not, I've never been arrested.
I've been kicked out of a zoo where I slept in overnight in Germany, hosed down by the park attendants.
I've been barred from a pub that I never entered because of a problem I caused in the pub,
even though I'd never been there before which is more difficult than you would think.
I've broken an underground train, I've been chased by armed guards, I've walked
parts of the Berlin Wall that were out of bounds, I've had people pull guns on me,
I've been thrown up against wire fences and been frisked by the police and I've
been kicked out of two countries, but I've never been arrested.
God was, Jesus was arrested and Peter went with him up to a certain point.
Let me just read to you exactly what happened.
"Simon Peter followed Jesus, as did another of the disciples. That other disciple was acquainted
with the high priest, so he was allowed to enter the high priest's courtyard with Jesus.
Peter had to stay outside the gate.
the disciple who knew the high priest spoke to the woman watching at the gate, and she let Peter in."
Jesus is arrested and Peter goes with Him, but he has to be outside of the gate.
The other disciple has a hookup, the other disciple has a person they can talk to, so
Peter gets inside the gate, He's inside the courtroom and Jesus is arrested inside the house.
So near, and yet so far or so it seems.
Listen to this
"meanwhile, as Simon Peter was standing by the fire warming himself,
they asked him again, "You're not one of his disciples, are you?"
He denied it, saying, "No, I am not."
Here's Peter, he's just outside the house where Jesus is, and we know that Jesus was
asked "who are you and who's with you."
If Peter had said "yes, I'm with Jesus, I'm one of the disciples," he'd have
been taken straight in, we know that from the conversation Jesus had with His accuser.
There's Peter, he wants to be with Jesus, but he denies knowing Jesus.
He wants to get closer to God, but at the same time is denying God.
I wonder if you've ever been in the same situation, you wanted to get closer to God,
but at the same time denying part of your life to Him.
Peter had a quasi faith. What does quasi mean?
Almost, but not quite. Partly or pretending.
Peter had a kind of quasi faith, nearly Jesus' faith, but not quite Jesus' faith.
In fact, Peter's journey of faith is a bit like a comical silent film full of times when
he seems to have made it and then he messes up.
He walks on water only to drown.
He humbles himself only to be called Satan by his Rabbi.
He tries to hold onto three prophets and stay with them and build a shelter for them, only to fall flat on his face.
It's as though Peter is taken to these heights and then suddenly realized that the thing
he had faith for isn't the thing that Jesus really wanted.
I think that the point if you like of these summits.
God takes us somewhere only for us to realize that wasn't the point there is something
bigger and better; actually, the thing we were believing for isn't quite what Jesus had in mind.
Rather that quasi faith we need to search for quantum faith.
What is quantum faith?
In physics quantum means the smallest quantity of energy.
I think the size of our faith is something only we are obsessed with not Jesus.
He said this
"I tell you the truth if you have faith even as small as a mustard seed,
you would say to this mountain move from here to there and it would move. Nothing would be impossible."
Success is not found in the amount of faith but the assimilation of faith.
And that is key, what God's trying to do is highlight his purposes, and he does it
by allowing us sometimes to realize our dreams; only to find out that they're not his dreams.
And this series of highs and lows helps us discover that because He wants to build in
us faith not for our personal dreams but the kind of faith we're going to need to His
dreams which are always bigger and better.
After all, as I write in my book, "what is the point of having more faith for the wrong plan?"
Peter's summit shaped pilgrimage was all about binding God's dream to his life;
replacing his dreams for God's dreams.
Seeing something bigger and better, that was the point of the summit shaped pilgrimage
for him and I would suggest for you and I as well.
As I've often said the best is not "where am I going," the best question is "what
should I be doing," the best question is "lord what is the most effective thing I
can do for your kingdom?"
And in order to ask that question and get an answer what God's purpose is not simply what our purpose is.
Yes, sometimes we'll achieve our dreams only to be shown that actually that wasn't
the point in the first place; there's something much greater.
And that's true for all of us even businessmen who can create great successful businesses.
I want to explain that with a friend of mine who we recorded sharing about why he supports what we do.
"I've worked with youth for many years and I see the next generation as having a
lot of difficulty as compared with previous generations; and the kids don't have they
don't have that mentor that's in their life to actually help them cope with the different
things life throws at them and the mentor program through Pais gives that to these kids.
While stocks and bonds might seem like they give a good investment; investing in people
is the best investment that you can make."
Wayne has made a great business but he's realizing building a business in itself is not the point.
It's about investing in the kingdom of God and he does that within his business and through his business.
What you've got here is you've got quantum faith that has the faith to believe for great
things even though they may hurt.
Quasi faith however, thinks the whole point of faith is to believe that things won't
hurt in the first place.
Quantum faith believes for his dreams, and we only need a small amount of faith but it
can be really powerful, because we're praying in his will; and those kinds of prayers see a great difference.
We could have all the faith in the world, but if we're praying for our dreams not
his we will see very little happen.
With that in mind, let's look at our next workshop.
Is there another bible character whose life seems to follow the summit journey, the summit pattern?
If so, please plot their summit journey in the same way I just did for Peter,
including the various reference point and scriptures.
Just take a moment to think through is there another character in the bible who seems to
have a similar kind of journey; God raises them up, they chase after their own dreams
only to realize it was a mistake, and then see God's bigger mountain that requires
a different kind of faith; a faith more connected to his.
If you can find someone like that, if you could just draw their summit pattern,
their summit journey, and just mark off different stages in their life and the scriptures to
back that up and then share that with the rest of your group and we'll come back look
at the final part of this pattern where we'll look at practices of the summit journey.
Great, okay, we're going to look at some of the different practices while you're on this journey.
Now in the book, i have several, I'm just going to pick two for this particular Livewire episode.
Practice number one, if you don't attempt the small peaks you'll never got to the big ones.
You see, you cannot leap frog the summit or skip elements of God's plans.
Let's think about some of the things that Peter actually accomplished.
He preached a sermon that led three thousand people to Christ.
He wrote two epistles to the church that became books of the bible, he founded the church in Antioch,
he established a headquarters in Rome where he served as bishop,
he presided over the first great council in Jerusalem in 49 A.D.,
and he's now seen by some as the Prince of Apostles.
And yet, Peter's summit journey started with the really simple question, an awkward question;
"Hey Peter, can I use your boat?"
Jesus asked him for his boat.
Jesus didn't first say to him "Hey, Peter, would you like to become a great apostle one day"
he asked him for a small favor.
The fact of the matter is Jesus is probably doing that of you and me.
We have to ask the question what is our small boat, what is the small thing that he's
asking me to give, that's in His will, rather that the big thing that I want to achieve that's in my will.
What if Peter had said no?
Would Peter have ever accomplished the things he accomplished?
Would he ever had his faith increased or would it have turned then and there?
Who really knows, I don't have the answer to that, all I know is that God's journey
to increase your faith is summit shaped.
Let's look at the second Practice.
You have to go down one mountain to climb the next one.
Getting to the next mountain is not determined by whether or not you're prepared to climb
up that next mountain, it's actually determined by whether or not you're prepared to climb
down the mountain you're presently on.
I believe that's why our faith in most increased on the mountaintop.
Because usually, to get to the next place God has for us, we have to let something go.
Could be something we're wrestling with in our spirit, could be something physical,
or practical, or material, or maybe relational.
Let me give you an example.
Many years ago I was working for my church that I loved called sharing church in Moston,
but Pais had outgrown, the organization I lead, had outgrown this small church.
And so I had to move to another church that had a much bigger building, but had far less money.
I had a small salary at Sharing Church, but in order to be able to use this bigger church's
building they wanted me to become the pastor, but could not pay me.
I had to let go of a salary and go down from one mountain you could say to start a church
and repurpose a church.
Now once that grew and it did actually eventually salary me, it became a great place, we had
a great team, we had a great church, it became a national venue for conferences in the UK
particularly in those days just for schools work.
And then I felt God call me to the states because the next mountain I could see was
Pais going from not just a local to a national movement, but then to an international movement.
I had to leave the mountaintop I was already on in England where I had a fantastic team
around me, I was fairly well known, I could speak at lots of different conferences and
church, things were going great, the church was going well; I had to descend that mountain
and come to America and start literally from the very beginning.
Nobody really knew me, I had not booking to speak at church or anything like that.
And that for me was really, really tough because I already achieved one of my dreams, I was
a national speaker, I had a great team around me; I had to let go of that dream in order
to accomplish a bigger dream that God had.
Listen to this quote, Sydney Howard said
Sydney Howard said
"One half of knowing what you want is knowing what you must give up before you get it."
So, this is maybe something helpful for you to understand; that yes in those low times
God certainly can work in you, and he can certainly increase your faith, but maybe it's
the kind of faith that gets you to come back to him to get you to not rely on other things instead.
But the faith that's developed on a mountain top is more about aligning our faith to the
things that He has for us rather that the things we have for ourselves, and I would
suggest that's an even greater development of our faith and an even higher level.
Let me again read from the book "the proactive decision to descend from one summit because
you can see the potential of a higher summit in the distance is a key part to the process
of faith assimilation. We're repeatedly forced to lose our personal benefits for the
sake of a greater impact for the dreams of God.
This repetition of the pattern gives us multiple choices and multiple chances to cut a new
ravine in our hearts and minds."
It's God's way of increasing our faith.
Like I say "There is no point in having great faith for the wrong plan."
Okay, let's look at our final workshop.
Which of those two practices is most helpful to you now and why?
If you were to use this kingdom pattern to help someone you are discipling what other
practices would you recommend to them.
Please discuss what two practices we just talked about helps you most at this time and
what do they teach you and then if you have time just think about, if you were disciplining
someone and they were going through this summit shaped journey and you could see it what other
practices, what other tip would you give them right now.
Please share that in your group as well next time we'll look at a different kingdom pattern
for a different area of our development.
Okay thanks very much for listening, goodbye.
