Let's go meet the dwarf planets There are five in our solar system

Let's go meet the dwarf planets Now I'll go ahead and list them

There's Pluto, Ceres, Eris, Makemake and Haumea

They haven't broken free from all the space debris

There's Pluto, Ceres, Eris, Makemake and Haumea

They're smaller than Earth's moon and they like to roam free

I'm the famous Pluto – as many of you know

My orbit's on a different path in the shape of an oval

I used to be planet number 9, But I break the rules; I'm one of a kind

I take my time orbiting the sun It's a long, long trip, but I'm having fun!

Five moons keep me company On our epic journey

Charon's the biggest, and then there's Nix

Kerberos, Hydra and the last one's Styx 248 years we travel out

Beyond the other planet's regular rout We hang out in the Kuiper Belt

Where the ice debris will never melt

Let's go meet the dwarf planets There are five in our solar system

Let's go meet the dwarf planets Now I'll go ahead and list them

There's Pluto, Ceres, Eris, Makemake and Haumea

They haven't broken free from all the space debris

There's Pluto, Ceres, Eris, Makemake and Haumea

They're smaller than Earth's moon and they like to roam free

My name is Ceres, and I'm closest to the sun

They found me in the Asteroid Belt in 1801 I'm the only known dwarf planet between

Jupiter and Mars They thought I was an asteroid, but I'm

too round and large!

I'm Eris the biggest dwarf planet, and the slowest one…

It takes me 557 years to travel around the sun

I have one moon, Dysnomia, to orbit along with me

We go way out past the Kuiper Belt, there's so much more to see!

Let's go meet the dwarf planets There are five in our solar system

Let's go meet the dwarf planets Now I'll go ahead and list them

There's Pluto, Ceres, Eris, Makemake and Haumea

They haven't broken free from all the space debris

There's Pluto, Ceres, Eris, Makemake and Haumea

They're smaller than Earth's moon and they like to roam free

My name is Makemake, and everyone thought I was alone

But my tiny moon, MK2, has been with me all along

It takes 310 years for us to orbit 'round the sun

But out here in the Kuiper Belt… our adventures just begun

Hello my name's Haumea, I'm not round shaped like my friends

I rotate fast, every 4 hours, which stretched out both my ends!

Namaka and Hi'iaka are my moons, I have just 2

And we live way out past Neptune in the Kuiper Belt it's true!

Now you've met the dwarf planets There are five in our solar system

Now you've met the dwarf planets I'll name them again in case you missed one

There's Pluto, Ceres, Eris, Makemake and Haumea

They haven't broken free from all the space debris

There's Pluto, Ceres, Eris, Makemake and Haumea

They're smaller than Earth's moon and they like to roam free

Now you've met the dwarf planets, there are 5 of them it's true

But the Solar System is a great big place, with more exploring left to do

Keep watching the skies above us with a telescope you look through

Because the next person to discover one… could be me or you…

(lock me up, lock me up, mayday, mayday)

some party on an orangish shag

it's 8pm and the TV's already on

games on my phone, scoffing discount chips

I'm bored and I wanna go home

then there's a click at the door

and I turn my head cause it's yoga

and I see ya, and it's over

you knock me for ten

oh it's apparently a chemistry thing

oh how you make my guts boom boom bang

boom boom bang, boom boom bang

you make my guts boom boom bang

boom boom bang, boom boom bang

you make my guts boom boom bang

you hit like a Supernova

just one flick had me falling over

your eyes got me seeing stars

shot me up, floating out 'round Mars

yeah you hit like a super, like a super

like a supernova

yeah you hit like a super, like a super

like a supernova

now I'm just like a kid

eat out of your hand just like a Tamagotchi

feed me, feed me, p-p-p-please

like Pokemon you catch'em all

it's a concussion now I'm floating 'round in space

on a Star Fleet spaceship

beaming out to meet your foreign race and huh?

oh it's apparently a chemistry thing, huh?

oh how you make my guts boom boom bang

boom boom bang, boom boom bang

you make my guts boom boom bang

boom boom bang, boom boom bang

you make my guts boom boom bang

you hit like a supernova

just one flick had me falling over

your eyes got me seeing stars

shot me up, floating out 'round Mars

you hit like a super, like a super

like a supernova

yeah you hit like a super, like a super

like a supernova

you hit like a super, like a super

like a supernova

yeah you hit like a super, like a super

like a supernova

you hit like a supernova

just one flick had me falling over

your eyes got me seeing stars

shot me up, floating out 'round Mars

yeah you hit like a supernova

chucking craters, spitting smoke and

tore my universe apart

cut dark matter through my heart

dark matter through my heart

you cut dark matter through my heart

The Best Red Wines For Beginners (Series): #1 Pinot Noir - Duration: 3:37.

Hey everybody, how you doing? if you want to learn more about some of the best red

wines out there you may want to stay tuned, because in the coming weeks I'm

gonna roll out a series of videos, each one of them is going to talk about an

individual red wine that you might like to try. For each of these famous red

wines that we're gonna cover, I'll give you some background & history, not too

much because I don't want to bore you; I'll give you the tasting notes so you

know what it tastes like, whether you want to buy it or not, and then I'll give

you some food pairing tips too, so you know what to do with it, after you have

the wine. So if that sounds good to you let's get started!

This is Pinot Noir. Pinot Noir is a great red wine for beginners to start with

because it's lighter, which makes it easier to approach. Pinot noir is a truly

ancient grape, that's been around for a really long time - it originates in the

region of Burgundy France, and they've been using it to make wine there for

about 2,000 years!

By the way all red Burgundy is made from Pinot Noir, so next time you go to the

store, you can actually pick up a bottle of Burgundy and you're buying French Pinot Noir.

Pinot Noir is also used in French Champagne. if you want to know why

Pinot Noir is red, but champagne comes out white, I'll put a link up to my video

here that explains how red wine gets its color. Nowadays, Pinot Noir is grown and

made all over the world but the best examples come from areas with cooler

climates: countries like Germany, Italy and New Zealand are all making great

Pinot Noir. In the United States, look for California's Central Coast and the Russian

River Valley; but also Oregon and Washington are making some fantastic

examples of Pinot. Pinot Noir is almost always dry, but not too dry, because there

aren't a lot of tannins in it and it's pretty light and elegant, which makes it

easy for beginners to appreciate. It's famous for having these beautiful

flavors of fresh raspberries and crushed strawberries and those fresh berry flavors

are perfect with roasted poultry: chicken, turkey and duck, which by the way, makes

it great for the holiday table. And when Pinot noir gets older, it starts to

take on these funky aromas and flavors things like mushrooms, earth, wet leaves

an even barnyard!! When you get an earthy pinot noir like this, it's perfect with

really stinky cheeses, and truffle and mushroom dishes. So, what are you going to

spend on a good bottle of Pinot? well if you shop in Burgundy,

and you buy from some of the most celebrated and famous vineyards there,

you're gonna wind up paying upwards of $3,000 for one bottle!!! Yeah $3,000 for

one bottle - but don't freak out - because most Pinot Noir that's out there in the

world, is not that expensive. On average you can expect to spend anywhere from

ten to thirty dollars for a decent bottle of Pinot Noir...

OK, That's the first in our series of best red wines, but stick around, because in

the coming weeks there are going to be more videos, each one of them talking about a

great red wine for you to try! If you haven't already, you might want to

subscribe to my channel by clicking on the button in the lower right hand

corner, that way you'll know when the new videos come out. And if you like what I'm

doing here and you feel like you're learning something, please give me a

thumbs up, send me a little love, share with your friends, or leave me

some comments below about what you think of this video; maybe some more topics

you'd like to see covered. I'm gonna put a link up right about here, and this is a

bonus recipe for you. This pairs perfectly with Pinot Noir, so if you're

feeling thirsty and hungry, pour yourself some Pinot, make the recipe and let

me know how it went for you. okay? Until next week, cheers guys!

Why Study Sociology at CU Boulder? - Duration: 2:07.

Music

Sociology, broadly speaking, is the study of groups and institutions and how they influence society

in the social world.

Once people start looking at the world in that fashion, they have these aha moments

and start to see things in entirely different ways.

You can take classes on everything from criminology or criminal justice, to changes in the family

or environmental sociology

or looking at political structures.

I think the sociology program

has empowered me to pursue

things based on passion

as opposed to based

on like economic benefit.

I think that the faculty is amazing

and they really allow you to make

make the field what you want it to be.

One of the things that sociology offers is a specific skill set around being able to analyze data.

So you could end up working in public administration, in law enforcement

in the medical area, the same set of skills are incredibly helpful.

There's so much data in the world now, but what is lacking in the workforce is

people who know what to do with it.

What we notice with our majors, they tend to be people who are out to change the world.

And they're interested in taking knowledge

and skills from our courses

that are going to let them do that.

We really have a fantastic internship program.

Through that program you can do an internship in which you apply what you're learning in the classroom

to a variety of fields.

One of the most important

things that I learned

was communication skills.

Particularly with writing and being able to take all these

complex and different sources and condense them down into a single cohesive argument.

Studying sociology also gave me the ability to think in terms of systems and helps me understand why

our healthcare system doesn't work for everyone and so that's something I've been able to take right into my job

which is been really beneficial.
