Waching daily Aug 29 2017

Hello everyone! My name is Karima and I'm a badass.

Well at least I'm trying.

This challenge is about to learn how to ride a skateboard.

Let's go!

So the idea was to find an old skateboard for a cheap price.

I wasn't sure if I was going to like skateboarding

So I wasn't going to ruin myself because of it.

Okay so we got this one for a MAD150

Pretty cheap and stuff but...

Réda: Blah blah farts farts.

Stop!

What I was saying before Réda interrupted me was that

I found that skateboard for around $15

Which is equivalent to MAD150.

So yeah it was that cheap.

Respect the Stop sign!

What are you doing?

Respect the Stop sign!

Turn right, turn right.

Woah you guys look so cool!

Thank you!

I then let my friends play with it.

A decision that I regret to this day.

That's not funny!

That's not funny!

It's going to break.

Réda: It wants to break!

Réda: Get on!

How much did you pay for it?

MAD150

*Nod of approval*

Get lost

Get lost!

That's not how you do it!

That's not how you do it.

Now we'll go straight to the backflip.

They'll break it! They'll break it!

Guys!

I still wanna use it!

Woah, well done Mouna!

Babour!

Réda: I swear I'll take you to the court! Mouna: Did you bring the diapers?

Am I going to keep cleaning his crap?

Hey!

Réda: Don't get there!

Bring the diapers this afternoon or I'll take you to the court!

Today is Saturday

I couldn't use the skateboard yesterday because it was a little too dark to film.

And right now I'm waiting for Omar to come pick me up

We're going to the beach with

the people with whom I was yesterday

And we're going to try it there.

Towel, check.

Very sexy swimsuit, check.

Scarf and underwear, check.

Ketchup-skin prevention.

Earphones with missing parts.

Calcula-

Ugly skateboard.

Done!

Are you going to film everything?

YES.

Omg.

We spent the day the way days are spent at the beach.

And then I decided that I would play with the skateboard

Without anything to protect my elbows and knees.

Confidence.

Now, before trying it, I watched some videos on Youtube.

I think from Braille skateboarding

And it was pretty straightforward.

First, learning how to push.

Then trying to get my back foot up.

It started working a little

Until...

Najwa: So sorry!

Okay so I just fell.

And I ripped up my pants.

Ouch blood.

There is?

Najwa: Yeah. Me: Oh s***

I continued for a while.

Ouch

This is bad.

Careful.

And then, we called it a day

But we talked too soon.

Omar's car keys got locked

Inside of the locked car.

So basically we had no way of getting

Into the car.

We were around 18Km away from the city

So we sent the people who needed to leave urgently

In the other cars.

And...

We started looking for solutions.

It need to be on, I think.

Go go go.

Exactly, lift it instead of trying to get it into the other side.

Go go go.

Oh sh...

F***

Ugh.

It didn't work because we needed to have the car actually on

In order to get the buttons and handles to work.

Omar's sister arrived around 11pm with spare keys

And we finally left.

Ugh. What a day.

So I'm currently in Tangier

It's been a while I didn't skate.

The wound really took some time to heal

And I got these.

And I really advise you to get them

Because it's really not worth it to just get hurt that way.

Do I look beautiful?

Mom: Yes.

Thanks.

I didn't film much that day because it got dark very quickly.

But yeah, I guess I improved a little on confidence.

So this is the third practice day.

I have my cousin with me.

And we found a place that I think is quite suitable for this.

There are some cars but not so many.

So yeah I guess we could make it...

We can make it work

I was getting better at skating for longer distances without stopping

And toggling between pushing and putting the back foot up.

Pushing, back foot up...

Etc.

Anissa: We can't see your face.

Anissa: It's dark. Me: Film down here.

Anissa: Um?

No, I meant do this

So that we see that it fell.

Gosh.

*Alien mating call*

Then I tried to turn.

Fail.

*Alien mating dance*

The mistake that I would make with turning was

To let my front foot facing forward along with the board.

So when I would want to turn,

Instead of leaning forward or backwards

I would kind of turn

Lean* to the right or to the left

And it would affect my balance.

When what I really needed to do was

To put both feet perpendicular to the board.

If that makes sense.

But yeah I guess I kinda learnt how to ride?

Let me know what you think!

And oh, please, tell me if I'm doing something wrong.

I really think I am.

And by the way, if anyone could tell me

What type of board this is

I would be really grateful.

I actually don't know.

I kinda looked it up but it didn't look like

Any one of the drawings they had there

So yeah, please let me know.

Alright! This is all for today.

I really hope you enjoyed it.

See you in the next challenge.

Event Promotion - Using Instagram After Your Event - Duration: 7:31.

Okay, so you're done with your event, but you've still got your Instagram account.

What are you going to do with it now?

Hi, I'm Sheryl Loch with Ginger Roots Media back again with Lany Sullivan

with Events by Lany. [Lany] Alright, so we're wrapping up Instagram. The post

event promotion. So we've already talked about post event with YouTube. We've

already talked about post event with Facebook. How different is post event

with Instagram than the other two? Is it different? [Sheryl] Not really, you've gathered

tons. [Lany] Video done. [Sheryl] Drop mic. Okay so you've had your photographer get all kinds of

images. You've had your attendees get all kinds of images.

You, yourself have taken all kinds of images. Now you're going to be able to

send those through. You've also gathered a bunch of quotes. You've gathered all

kinds of things that you can use. Let me say this, if you haven't gathered all

kinds of things during your event, you screwed up from the get-go and I got

nothing for you. But if you've gathered a bunch of stuff,

I don't care if it's quotes, images of each of the speakers, images of the

attendees, images of yourself, your attendees, you've encouraged to get stuff.

Now what you're going to do is drip feed it out. You're going to just keep

promoting your speakers, your sponsors. If you can talk about different things

they said or actions you're taking because of something you learned at the

event or we're inspired to do then you're going to be putting that out. All

we're going to do, is we're not going to drop this Instagram account. It's not

going to die. [Lany] because people do that your event ends, your Instagram dies, your

Facebook dies, everything dies. So we talked about this, I think in the

Facebook or the YouTube, I don't remember which one, but this is, this is a big picture game.

This is a slow game. So you're just slowly dripping, you don't ever let

anything die and the build, you're building, you're doing a build

up and then you're doing the build down and then you're going to build it up

again. So it's just kind of like, what is it, the bell curve. So you're going up

and going up and down up and down, all the way through every event. So you're

coming off of this high and then you're going to work, you're going to continue

to promote and promote and promote, slowly, slowly, slowly and now you're

going to get start really amping it up for your next event. So you're going to

just continue through this full bell curve every time you do an event. [Sheryl] And

that's the thing, you just keep it alive. You keep interacting. You go over, you

build new followers, you're commenting on other people's post. You're going to

continue to build this, not at a ramped up rate like Lany said, but you're

going to keep it going and you want to to keep the momentum going and keep

reminding your attendees and your speakers and your sponsors how great it

was to participate in your event and build the anticipation for when you

start planning the next event and then you're going to start it all over again,

but the longer and better you build the first time out and the more you keep

it going, it'll be easier the second time, the third time, and it's just like a

snowball. It's going to grow, but if you drop it, you drop it and it's done. [Lany] Yep.

[Sheryl] And keep in mind that you also have all of these other channels like we

mentioned before, that you're going to take this content and you're going to be

sending it out through other channels too. So your social media while it is

slowing down, you should have enough content to keep everything filled

constantly and that includes your Instagram. So post event is basically

thinking and promoting the others, promoting the excitement, the experience

as you always... [Lany] Experience. I'm always about the experience, like you can find,

the thing is like you, when you go back through your old content because if

you're not going back through the video and you're not going back through the images

and you're not going back to everything um, we'll slap you

because that's what we do, but but once you go through it you're going to be

able to pull out quotes from your speakers, you know, quotes from the

testimonials, you can pull out one quote from a line, one line I mean, one line

from a quote or from a testimonial and drop it into an image and that could be

shared 4 months later. It doesn't have to be shared today. The point is over 30 to

45 days after the event, you know, you have time to do this. You can, you can

crowdsource the immediate content, but then you can also take the time to

create that slow burn, build content. [Sheryl] And if you've done your videos correctly and

you've done your testimonial correctly or your interviews and all that you can

actually take them, edit those videos so that you can make a square video because

I already went on a rampage about square video on Instagram and you can put out

those little one minute clips or one-minute testimonials and those don't

have to be done the day of the event or the day after. They can be put out as you

get them done. So... [Lany] Yeah, I think that's the thing is people get overwhelmed and they

think they have to do it all now, but... [Sheryl] You don't want to it all now. Why would you

want to flood everything at once? Drip it out. [Lany] Yeah. Just create this, create it

little bit little. Have your team build it. You can do it. Have your team do it,

and then you know just start dripping it and and then ramp it back up three,

not three months out, whoa... six months out from your next event. Three months is a little

too late, but six to nine months out. [Sheryl] Been there done that, that's not as

much fun. [Lany] Not that much fun. That shits awful. So I think that's everything

for post event if you guys want, we we did dive into it's really really similar

information into Facebook post event and YouTube post event so we figured we've

already talked about post event three times so if you haven't watched the

other two then you know we encourage you to go watch those other two. [Sheryl] Yeah. [Lany] But if

you want to get some more information from us regarding your social media and

your digital marketing for your live event, make sure you go to eventsbylany.com

/knowledgebase and we'll also have a link below so you can

click on that. Sign up to get on our list. Here's the deal if you're not on our

list, you're not getting the free bonus content that we're creating and giving

away for free! It won't always be for free, so get

it while you can. Also we have live Q&A's that we're gonna be doing. I mean come on

you don't want to miss this fun. This is ridiculous and you may not be laughing

at us, but we actually enjoy laughing at ourselves. So if you want to get on the

live Q&A pick our brains and really figure out what you can do and how you

can improve your digital marketing for your event make sure to get on the list.

[Sheryl] Yep and while you're here make sure you subscribe to this video, like this video

dislike this video, leave us a comment. If you leave us a comment you can say

something nice [Lany] Or not. We can handle it. [Sheryl}Yeah, I'm so used to that that. If nothing else

be sure you share this video and thanks for watching we'll see you on the next

one. [Lany[ Bye!!! I had to do that for her.
