Imran Awan: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know

Imran Awan was an IT aide for many House Democrats, including Wasserman Schultz who was the last to let him go. (Getty).

Imran Awan, a longtime IT aide to Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz and as many as 25 other House Democrats, was arrested at Dulles Airport on Monday night, July 24 while trying to leave the country, Fox News reported.

He was charged with multiple counts of bank fraud, according to Fox News. .

Awan has a hearing scheduled for August 21. He's wearing a GPS monitor and can't go more than 50 miles from his home, according to Bill Miller, a spokesman for the U.S.

Here's what you need to know. This is a developing story.

Imran Awan Was Arrested While Trying to Leave the Country and His Wife Is Already in Pakistan With Their Daughters, According to Court Documents.

BREAKING: Former Wasserman-Schultz IT Staffer Imran Awan Arrested at Airport While Trying to Flee U.S. https://t.co/b3OvYPcBcTpic.twitter.com/bDycet7MzC — DubyE (@DubreyEscobar) July 25, 2017  .

Awan, 37, was at Dulles International Airport trying to leave the country when he was arraigned and surrendered his passport, Chad Pergram of Fox News reported. Awan was charged with bank fraud, according to Fox.

Capitol Police, FBI, and Customs and Border Protection were all involved in the arrest. According to the complain, he had bought a ticket to fly to Doha, Qatar and then Lahore, Pakistan, and had a return flight booked for January.

Awan pleaded not guilty to one count of bank fraud on Tuesday, and he was ordered to turn over his passports.

A hearing is scheduled for August 21 at 1:45 p.m., and the government did not oppose his release with special conditions. The case was assigned to Magistrate Deborah A. Robinson. You can read the criminal complaint below:.

And read the related affidavit below, which was unsealed in PACER:.

The affidavit alleges that Awan "knowingly" engaged in a scheme to "defraud the Wright Patman Congressional Federal Credit Union to obtain money owned by … CFCU. " The affidavit above was submitted only to establish probable cause.

The affidavit alleges that a home equity line of credit was obtained to defraud CFCU based on two misrepresentations: 1.) that Awan's and his wife Hina Alvi's property was a primary residence, not a rental, and 2.) that Alvi intended to use the property as a permanent residence even though she was already renting property somehwere else.

The loan was in the amount of $165,000 and was wired to Pakistan. According to the affidavit, Alvi has already left the country with their three daughters and is in Pakistan.

The affidavit states that on January 18, a CFCU representative called and asked to speak to Awan's wife, Hina Alvi.  A male answered and pretended to be Alvi and said the purpose of the requested wire transfer was funeral arrangements.

When told this wasn't an acceptable reason for a wire, the person said it was to buy property. "The representative accepted that reason and initiated the wire transfer to Pakistan.

Bank records show that $165,00000 of $283,00000 wired to Pakistan was from" a home equity line of credit.

On March 5, the affidavit states, agents approached Alvi at Dulles when she was about to leave for Pakistan with their three children, who had been abruptly taken out of school. The affidavit goes on to state:.

ALVI was permitted to board the flight to Qatar and she and her daughters have not returned to the United States. ALVI has a return flight booked for September 2017.

Based on your Affiant's observations at Dulles Airport, and upon his experience and training, your Affiant does not believe that ALVI has any intention to return to the United States.".

Awan then purchased a flight from Dulles to Qatar to Pakistan, leaving on July 24. He purchased a return flight for January 2018.

The Daily Caller reported that the FBI had seized smashed hard drives from Awan's home. This has not been confirmed, however, by any other media sources at this time and the information came from an unnamed, anonymous source.

We will update this story with more information if it is available. Officials Were Investigating Awan and Several Relatives for an Alleged 'Procurement Scam'. Imran Awan and Bill Clinton Feb 17 pic. twitter. com/ZdWJvt9H2q — archiebird (@archiebird) May 27, 2017  .

Awan, his wife Hina Alvi, along with several other related IT staffers had been under investigation since February, Politico reported. Officials accused them of stealing equipment from House members' offices, along with committing other possible violations.

Details about the investigation were vague at first. Politico described the investigation in this way: "The employees allegedly stole equipment from members' offices without their knowledge and committed serious, potentially illegal, violations of House IT policies.".

In March, Fox News went into a little more detail, saying that at least five contractors, including Awan and his brothers Jamal and Abid Awan, were being investigated for possibly removing equipment from offices, including computers and servers.

Fox News reported in March that the allegations included running a procurement scheme that involved buying equipment, then double-billing the House administrative office, and possibly having unauthorized access to the House computer system.

Items that may have been double-billed included computers, iPads, monitors, keyboards, and routers.

Some have questioned whether the allegations might have led to the DNC hacks, but sources originally told Fox that there is no evidence that this was connected to the hacks that happened during the campaign.

Fox more recently reported that authorities are looking into whether the IT workers put any sensitive House information on the cloud, possibly allowing it "to be exposed to outside sources.".

Wasserman Schultz Kept Awan on as an Advisor Even After Others Let Him Go. According to Politico, Awan worked in an advisory role for Wasserman Schultz, giving advice on technology issues. Awan came to Capitol Hill and began working for Rep.

Robert Wexler in 2004. He began working for Wasserman Schultz also in 2005, and over the years worked for at least 25 House Democrats.

But even when other staffers let him go and he was blocked from having access to the House servers, Wasserman Schultz kept him on the payroll. Back in March, Hina Alvi — Awan's wife — was let go as IT support staff for Rep.

Gregory Meeks, Politico reported. Awan had been working for Rep.

Marcia Fudge, and he was let go from that position too. Meanwhile, Wasserman-Shultz kept him on as a technology adviser, even though he had been blocked from accessing the House computer system since February.

Fox is told that Hse IT staffer Imran Awan is still on Hse payroll for moment under Wasserman Schultz. — Chad Pergram (@ChadPergram) July 25, 2017  . She let him go once he was arrested, Chad Pergram for Fox News reported.

Wasserman Schultz spokesman David Damron: Mr Awan previously served as a part-time employee but his services have been terminated. — Chad Pergram (@ChadPergram) July 25, 2017  .

Attorneys for Wasserman Schultz have been negotiating with Capitol Police who want access to a laptop of hers associated with the case, Fox reported. She had "resisted" those efforts, possibly discussing consequences if the computer wasn't quickly returned.

Rep. Meeks Was Concerned that Accusations Were Too Easy to Make Since the Staffers Are Muslim Americans.

GettyUS Democratic Representative from New York and chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus Political Action Committee (CBCPAC) Gregory Meeks announces the CBCPAC's endorsement of Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton in 2016.

Meeks clarified in March that Awan's wife Alvi was let go not because he suspected she was actually involved in a crime, but because the investigation was interrupting his office's daily work.

Meeks told Politico that he wasn't sure that he believed the accusations, because he was afraid the staffers' Muslim American background and ties to Pakistan made them targets:.

I wanted to be sure individuals are not being singled out because of their nationalities or their religion. We want to make sure everybody is entitled to due process.".

From 2004 to Early 2017, Awan Made Nearly $2 Million Working for House Democrats.

According to Politico, Awan earned nearly $2 million since 2004 as an IT support staffer for House Democrats. Alvi began working for House Democrats in 2007 and earned more than $1.3 million since then.

Their salaries were split among multiple lawmakers' offices. None of the staffers under investigation had access to classified information, Politico reported. Despite a six figure salary, Awan declared bankruptcy in 2012 with more than $1. 1 million in debt, Fox News reported.

In a strange but likely unrelated development, police in January visited the home of a woman they identified as Awan's stepmother, who accused him and his family of keeping her away from her dying husband.

She filed a complaint alleging insurance fraud, Fox News reported. It's unclear if the complaint has yet been resolved.

AYS Daily Growth Hacks 077 The New You Under Attack - Duration: 8:41.

Today's topic: The New You Under Attack

Hi I'm Doug Holt with Author of Your Own Story and this is your daily growth hack

where each day we give you a tip trick or insight to help you up level well we

call the five to thrive that is your mind your body your soul your

relationships and your business so as you're developing this author of your

own story lifestyle as you're evolving here you're doing these daily growth

acts and hopefully you're putting in the work I really hope you are as you're

doing this you're going to start noticing things to change and what you

may start to notice is something that many of us notice and that is the people

around you start to push back they start to subconsciously sabotage what you're

doing now this could be negative comments like oh you'll never do that or

you shouldn't be doing that or what the heck are you doing these types of

comments come naturally and it should be understood you see people are

comfortable with the old you they're comfortable with the you that doesn't

have a voice they're comfortable with the you that didn't take control and be

the author of their own story now you're on this path this path of change this

path of rapid growth it's exciting you're changing but their paradigm is

still stuck on the old you you see oftentimes people are uncomfortable with

change they have a story written about you I mean how many times when you look

back on your life do you run into maybe an old high school friend or or somebody

else you went to college with or something you knew years ago you still

might have the same frame of reference of that person now this happened to me

recently where I ran to somebody I went to college with and I haven't seen them

probably in 15 years now they were a partier they had a great time going out

but they really hit it hard and when I ran into I thought of them as the exact

same person now step four or 15 years later they have a family

they're very responsible they don't drink do drugs or party at all they're

completely different person yes my paradigm was stuck in the past

asked old them until I realized quickly in my actions in my comments towards

them that I was relating to the old version of them the version I knew and

was comfortable with now we may move through this very quickly but most

people don't most people don't have the realization that you can change that you

are changing you're evolving all the time and what it does is it scares them

and it scares them for multiple reasons this is also why a lot of people fail on

their own journey to becoming the author of their own story because they know

themselves as the old them now when you do a change or you do some changes in

your life these could be prosperity changes you start to make more money but

yet the people around you are comfortable with you being kind of a

broke old self that you had and now you have more prosperity and wealth or maybe

you're learning a foreign language and they're scared that you're becoming

better than them and that you're going to leave them or more unlikely they're

scared because you're putting into their face through your positive actions the

things that they are not doing now the things that they want to be doing with

their life but they're making excuses and seeing you grow scares them it

scares them because one they're probably worried they're going to lose you too

they're really scared because they're not doing the things they know they

should be doing to become the authors of their own story but don't let these

people tear you down as dr. Wayne Dyer said it's not crowded on the extra mile

and that is so true as you're on your journey it's not crowded on the extra

mile because people that have scarcity mindsets aren't there my wife and I go

hiking all the time and oftentimes we kind of begrudgingly make it through the

first 10 minutes of our hike where all the crowds of people are but once we get

past that first mile or two the crowds dissipate in fact once we get higher up

the mountain we hardly see anybody the people we do run into are always smiling

they always say hello and generally ask how we're doing because it's that type

of people that are at the top it's that type of person that takes that extra

step to get there and those are the kind of people you want to surround yourself

with now this doesn't mean that you should be putting them down the people

who are currently associating with other people

around you and also doesn't mean you should leave them it just means you need

to recognize understand that they're in a scarcity mindset they're scared

because they're not doing the right things they've also associated you

associated you with the old you the old you that they're comfortable with you

see they're very comfortable with you being in a job you don't like or making

little money or whatever it is for you maybe you're overweight and they're just

comfortable with that and they're scared that you're going to make changes you're

going to make changes you're going to leave them or they're scared you're

going to make changes and they're going to see that they're not making any

they're not progressing themselves it's just a natural human reaction so I want

you to recognize this as you're going through your journey who've almost tapes

72 these daily grow tacks that's a lot of things to do if you've

done all the 70 things that I've brought out here and mentioned to you I

guarantee you've made massive changes and I'm proud of you and then during

these changes I could also guarantee that there have been people in your life

at your workplace in your family loved ones friends that have actually started

to subconsciously tear you down you see they've noticed the changes and it makes

them uncomfortable it's not familiar they don't recognize that it's a new you

you're learning every day you're growing every day and you're going after your

passions in your dreams I'm proud of you and I'm here right now

let you know this is not a red flag this is just simply a bread crumb on the road

to success it's natural when it happens often the best thing to do is love these

people love them wholeheartedly and then lead by example

show them your greatness show them what you're doing and inspire them to do the

same that's one of the reasons I do this every single day is to inspire others

look my mission is to inspire positively impact 1 million people in this world

and I hope I'm doing this day by day little by little and eventually I'll

achieve my goal you can help me by doing the same inspire those around you and

don't worry about the haters the haters are going to come left and right and

most of them are going are going to be people you actually love and care and

you know what they love you too they're just scared so what I want you

to do today is grab your journal write out your 5 to thrive a course

and look at areas that you're growing that you're making growth and what I

want you to do is look closely at these because often times we don't see the own

growth in ourselves we don't see our own journey because we see ourselves

day-to-day in the mirror and those micro progressions make the biggest effect

over time we still recognize them and usually we see this growth or these

changes when we run into an old friend of the supermarket or out for a walk or

whatever it may be and they see us they're like wow you've changed you've

lost weight you're glowing something's radiant about you what is it

that's when we noticed but I want you to grab your v to thrive and write down

areas that you've changed but then I also want to write you to write down any

negative comment you've had recently as you've been on this growth spurt I want

you to look at that comment and embrace it because it's not true

these are comments from people of scarcity these are comments for people

who are scared to make it that extra mile you know so it's not crowded on the

extra mile because only good achievers high achievers make it that extra mile

that take that extra step most people break down because the old

them the paradigm of the old M is too powerful I want you to recognize this

new you this path that you're on it's powerful and I celebrate you for being

on it that's it for me today go over to author of your own story com

sign up for our newsletter and also get on that waiting list if you haven't

already now if you've been listening to this you should be on that waiting list

already it's filling up quickly but we want you to be on that waiting list for

the author of your own story University launching soon we are so excited to

bring this to you go out and be the author of your own story

Kristy & Kenneth Manzanares: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know - Duration: 8:45.

Kristy & Kenneth Manzanares: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know

A mother of three and realtor from Utah and her husband boarded an Emerald Princess Cruise ship to Alaska, but, before the trip ended, Kristy Manzanares was dead, and Kenneth Manzanares stood accused of murdering her.

The alleged domestic murder on the 3,400 passenger, 1,100 crew member ship led to its lockdown and the involvement of the FBI because the slaying occurred in waters off the coast of Alaska.

The death of Kristy, 39, allegedly occurred after an evening "dispute," authorities say.

Federal court documents paint a chilling scene in which a witness stumbled on the murder and allegedly engaged in a tug-of-war struggle with Kenneth Manzanares for his wife's body as he pulled Kristy toward the balcony.

Horrifically, the couple's children were on the ship, reports The Gephardt Daily. One of the couple's daughters posted photos on Facebook of the ship and her cruise ID as the journey started.

FacebookA photo posted on Facebook by one of the couple's children.

According to CBS, the cruise ship left Seattle on July 23 for a seven-day round-trip cruise and had left Ketchikan, Alaska on July 25. "The death forced the crew to divert the ship to Juneau," CBS reported.

Some passengers thought the death was a hoax at first because it occurred as a Murder Mystery dinner was happening elsewhere in the ship, according to CBS.

The couple had financial issues in the past, including a 2010 bankruptcy filing. Kenneth Manzanares, sometimes called "Kenny," worked as a bail bondsman, according to online profiles, and was a manager at Walgreens and an insurance company employee.

Here's what you need to know:.

Kenneth Manzanares Is Accused of Killing Kristy Because She Wouldn't Stop Laughing at Him. FacebookA friend wrote under this photo on Kristy Manzanares' Facebook page, " Kenny was never very good at driving….

Federal court documents allege that Kenneth Manzanares was discovered with blood covering his hands and clothing in the couple's cabin. He's been charged in a complaint with murder.

According to the complaint and an affidavit filed in federal court in support of a search warrant, which you can read in full below, the FBI received a telephone call on July 25 at about 10:13 p.m.

from a company security officer for Holland America Group who "advised that there had been what appeared to be a homicide aboard the cruise ship Emerald Princess.".

On July 25, at about 9:03 p.m., Emerald Princess Security and Medical personnel responded to an incident in a cabin occupied by Kenneth Manzanares and Kristy, who is identified only as K.M.

The security officer advised that upon arriving at the cabin he "noticed blood on the hands and clothing of the occupant Kenneth Manzanares. " The security officer placed Kenneth in handcuffs and secured him in the adjoining cabin.

Other witnesses had already entered the room. "Upon entering, they observed Kenneth Manzanares had blood on his hands and clothing.

One of the witnesses… advised that when he entered the room he observed KM lying on the floor covered in blood." The witness asked Kenneth Manzanares what had happened to which Kenneth allegedly replied, "She would not stop laughing at me.".

Kristy "was found with a severe head wound in a room in which blood was spread throughout… on multiple surfaces. She was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 20 minutes later," reported KTUU.

A photo from Kristy's Facebook page. In a press conference on July 27, authorities said the cruise ship was within the 12 nautical mile U.S. territorial seas of the United States transiting to Juneau when the death occurred.

The case is still pending indictment by grand jury and is being investigated, authorities said. The investigation was led by the FBI with close support from the U.S.

The husband was arrested on a federal arrest warrant and is currently in custody, authorities said. The FBI said it was notified about 11 p.m.

and sent 12 agents down to Juneau to process the crime scene. About 200 interviews of passengers and crew members were conducted.

The Coast Guard generally oversees safety and security on cruise ships that sail in U.S. waters, but the Coast Guard handed off investigative lead to the FBI because of the nature of the accusations.

Reporters asked authorities whether they could elaborate more on motive, and they would not. Authorities said they couldn't remember the last time they prosecuted a murder on a cruise ship.

A Witness Allegedly Stopped the Husband From Dragging His Wife's Body to the Balcony By Grabbing Her Ankles. Kristy and Kenneth Manzanares,.

The affidavit filed in federal court goes on to allege a grim struggle between Kenneth Manzanares and a witness, who is identified only by initials in the document.

The witness told the FBI that the witness "observed Manzanares grab K. 's body and drag her toward the balcony" in the couple's cabin.

The witness "then grabbed the ankles of K. 's body and pulled her back into the cabin. " Shortly thereafter, cruise ship security entered the cabin and restrained Manzanares, the document says.

Later, as Manzanares was being processed during a search by the FBI, he's accused of spontaneously stating, "My life is over. The closest point of land was Forrester Island, Alaska, which was seven miles away, the document said.

Megan Morr, a passenger on the Emerald Princess, told Fox 13 Salt Lake City, "People were running through the hall with blood all over them and trying to get security.

" Passengers heard a man and woman arguing on their balcony before the murder, the television station reported.

Kristy Manzanares Worked as a Real Estate Agent & Was Remembered as a 'Beautiful, Bright Light'. On Facebook, Kristy Manzanares wrote that she was a realtor, licensed at Summit Sotheby's International Realty, and a former realtor at REMAX Associates St. George.

"St. George and the real estate community are deeply saddened at the loss of this beautiful bright light. Kristy Manzanares you are truly loved. Blessings and prayers," wrote one woman on Facebook.

Another friend wrote, "Please say a special prayer for Kristy Manzanares. She was a smart, kind and beautiful woman who had everything to live for including her young daughters plus a successful real estate career.

My heart is breaking for her loved ones!".

Meanwhile, a 2010 bankruptcy filing in the couple's names said that Kenneth was a retail manager at Walgreen's. However, his LinkedIn page says he was more recently working as a "licensed sales producer" for an insurance company.

The page says he previously worked as a general manager for a company selling folding tables and chairs. He said he had an associate's degree from Broadview University in Sports and Exercise.

He also has a profile on a Utah Bail Bonds site. It reads, "Kenny has spent the last 12 years living and working in St.

Kenny has three daughters and has been married for 13 years. Prior to becoming the manager at Wal-Greens Kenny worked as a counselor in various youth programs. Kenny has been with Bad Boys Bail Bonds Utah since the beginning of 2011.".

Kristy Manzanares was a native of Utah "who made her way to St. George by way of Southern Utah University. She has a Bachelors Degree in Family and Consumer Science with an Emphasis in Interior Design," her realtor's bio says.

"Her past experience includes Community Association and Resort Management in which she learned the importance of building relationships and trust through constant communication and top-notch customer service.
