Jerry Smith Jr.: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know | Heavy.com

Jerry Smith Jr.

was shot by Milwaukee Police in August of 2017 while unarmed.

Smith, who was holding only a cell phone, is seen spreading his arms and going to the ground when police opened fire in a newly released body camera video obtained by Milwaukee's Fox 6 News.

Police were responding to a call about an armed man and were heard discussing a possible gun prior to the shooting on the body cam video.

They were later heard questioning where the gun was after Smith was shot multiple times and screaming for help.

Prosecutors determined that the shooting was justified after two officers said they believed Smith was armed and they were in danger.

Smith's attorney is calling for prosecutors to reconsider their decision not to charge the officers.

Here's what you need to know:.

Police Shot Jerry Smith Jr.

While Responding to Call About an Armed Man.

Police officers involved in the shooting were responding to a call of an unarmed man who apparently matched Smith's description, Fox 6 reported.

Officers believed Smith had a gun.

According to Smith's attorneys, he was holding only a cell phone to call his mother.

"An unarmed man had committed no crime, no criminal history, no drugs and is getting on the ground with his fingers spread when the officer opened fire," Daniel Storm, a forensic investigator working with Smith's attorney Walter Stern, told Fox 6.

"Lucky to be alive because the one bullet just grazed his head.".

Body Cam Video Shows Jerry Smith Jr.

Appear to Comply With Police Orders.

Body camera footage provided by Smith's lawyers to Fox 6 shows officers discussing a gun while jumping on to a roof where Smith was standing.

Smith is seen spreading his arms as officers yell at him to put his hands in the air.

He lowers his arms as he goes to kneel down, at which point an officer opens fire.

The video stops when Smith drops to the ground and an officer is later seen handcuffing his hands behind his back as Smith wails for help.

"Where's the gun?" an officer is heard asking in the video as Smith continues to cry out.

District Attorney Said Shooting of Jerry Smith Was Justified.

The Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office ruled that shooting was justified, according to Smith's attorneys.

The decision came after Officer Melvin Finkley, who fired his gun twice, said in a statement that he "perceived Mr Smith was reaching for a weapon concealed behind the air conditioning unit.".

Officer Adam Stahl, who fired one shot after Finkley opened fire, said that he shot Smith because he "feared for Officer Finkley's safety and for his own.

The Independent reports that the shooting does not need an independent investigator because it was not fatal.

Both officers are still on the force but are now on administrative duty.

Storm said he hoped federal prosecutors will take a look at the case.

"We're asking the U.S.

Attorney's office to now look at this video, make an independent decision or recommend to District Attorney Chisholm to submit this to a grand jury," he told Fox 6.

"His right leg, he has partial use of it.

We can only hope that the US attorney would get involved because we may have a violation of civil rights.".

"The people in the community need to see that cops are as accountable as they are," he added.

Jerry Smith Jr.

is Confined to a Wheelchair After Being Shot in the Head.

Smith said that he has needed a wheelchair since leaving the hospital in September.

Smith's lawyers said he only has "partial use" of his right leg because a bullet is still lodged in his hip.

"Right after the surgery, the only thing he could have was soup and Jell-O, things like that — because they removed part of his intestines," Smith's lawyers said in a statement.

He just underwent six or seven weeks of antibiotics to his heart because he had three different infections at that time.".

"I still got the bullet inside me.

I ain't never thought that was gonna happen to me," Smith told TMJ4.

"I didn't think I'd be in a wheelchair.".

'I Really Don't Know Why They Shot Me,' Jerry Smith Jr.

Says.

"They said 'have your hands up, put your hands up,'" Smith told TMJ.

"I had my hands up, my phone was in my right hand.".

"I really don't know why they shot me," he said.

"OK I ran, but the officer scared the hell out of me man.

He got off the bike grabbing his gun cause I match the description of someone having a gun.".

"I'd like to see some change, real change where we don't have this shoot first ask questions later," added his attorney, Walter Stern.

Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Nail Polish Review - Duration: 8:59.

Hi everyone The Pretty Witch.

Welcome back to my channel.

Please don't mind my dramatic crazy makeup right now.

I was doing some photos for my Instagram so if you do want to check out any of my beauty

looks or any of my fashion looks be sure to follow me on social media.

I am going to put all those links down below for you.

So today we're going to be reviewing another beauty product and I've actually been wanting

to try and review this product for quite some time.

I'm not sure what took me so long to do it but before we go ahead and get into the actual

review please make sure you hit the subscribe button and become part of my youtube family.

Also be sure to hit the little bell symbol that way you get notified on any of my latest

videos.

So today I'm reviewing the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel.

Now this is supposed to be a simple two step process to give you an at home gel manicure.

So according to their website this is supposed to be a long lasting chip resistant nail polish

that is supposed to give you that salon quality gel manicure without the use of a UV lamp.

So normally when you go to a salon it can be a pretty expensive and tedious process

to get a gel manicure.

You're probably looking at anywhere between twenty and thirty dollars for a gel manicure.

And while you're there once you get the nails painted you have to out your hands under a

UV lamp for that gel to kind of set.

I'm not sure what the exact scientific process is but if you've been to a salon and you've

had a gel manicure you know what I'm talking about.

So the benefits of a gel manicure is it's not a lot of upkeep or a big time commitment

as well because it's actually going to increase the longevity of your manicure because the

polish is supposed to be chip resistant.

As well it's going to give you that nice high shine finish to give your nails that really

beautiful appearance.

So there is a lot of controversy with getting a gel manicure at the salon because of the

UV exposure that is emitted from the curing lamps.

So these lamps actually emit UVA rays which doesn't burn your skin like typical UVB rays

do but they still do penetrate the skin and it can cause damage which leads to aging and

also can lead to skin cancer as well.

The UV exposure that you would receive during a gel manicure is very brief but it can also

be intense as well.

And especially getting the gel manicures all the time you're repeatedly exposing yourself

to these UV rays.

So the other negative aspect about getting a gel manicure at a salon is when they remove

the actual gel nail polish they have to use a strong acetone and this can be very damaging

and dry out your nails.

Now according to the Sally Hansen website this nail polish requires no UV lamp.

As well it can be removed with any regular nail polish.

Okay so let's get onto the actual review of the nail polish.

I've been trying it out and testing it out for just over the last week now.

So before you start the application process you need to make sure your nails are dry and

clean.

Next you're going to apply two coats of your selected colour choice.

Now white nail polish has just kind of become my signature thing.

I don't know why.

I just love a nice crisp white nail.

I just think it looks so posh and sophisticated.

Especially in the summer it looks really great with a tan.

So I chose the shade Get Mod.

So on the website it doesn't actually specify how long you should wait between each coat.

But what I did was I waited about five minutes between each coat because it is a fast drying

nail polish.

So first thing I did notice when applying this polish is the actual applicator itself.

The brush on this is pretty wide so it can get messy so make sure you take your time.

It probably isn't the best brush if you have really tiny nails.

So I also noticed the consistency of this nail polish was definitely a lot different

compared to regular nail polish.

This is a lot thicker and kind of goopier.

So once you have applied your second layer of your colour you're going to wait five minutes

and then you're going to go in and apply your miracle gel top coat.

So no word of a lie guys.

This nail polish literally dries within about five to ten minutes.

So this gel manicure really does cut down the processing time dramatically because with

normal typical nail polish I find it takes anywhere from like three to six hours even

sometimes up to a full day to fully let that nail polish settle.

Because even though it might be dry to the touch after a few hours I still find it's

really soft and anything that you kind of bump into can dent it a little bit or even

when you sleep at night you get imprints of the sheets on your nails.

I don't know if that happens to anybody else but.

So as you can see it did really leave a nice gorgeous high shine finish like a typical

gel manicure would.

So I am really loving how this turned out and I think it looks absolutely gorgeous so

I am really impressed with this product right now.

But what I will do is I will keep checking back in with you guys throughout the course

of the week and we will see how it's holding up.

So as you can see by day two the manicure is still looking absolutely flawless.

There's no chipping.

Nothing going on at all.

Usually with regular nail polish I usually find around day three my nails start chipping

already.

Now by day four however I did start noticing that the nails were cracking.

I'm not sure if you can pick it up on the camera but there's these tiny little cracks

throughout the nail polish.

I mean it's not really anything noticeable.

You have to be really looking up close and personal to see the cracks.

If it's from far away you don't see it at all.

So it's not a really big deal to me.

As long as there's no chipping it still looks nice and clean to me.

So by the end of the week there is a lot of cracking going on.

Now I think my cracking looks a little bit worse on my nails befause the nails are white

and I fiddle around with a lot of makeup so my makeup was getting stuck in the cracks.

So it's really accentuating those cracks I think with the white nail polish.

But as you can see by day seven there is still no chipping.

So let's talk about the actual removal process of this product.

Now according to the website it says that it can be removed with regular nail polish.

Well it can but it took forever.

It literally probably took me about half an hour to get the nail polish off of my nails.

With regular nail polish I can have my nails clean within about five minutes.

And with this one I actually went through a lot of nail polish and I still did actually

have to soak my nails in a little bowl of the nail polish just to get the process working

to loosen up the nail polish a bit but I guess you have to weight the pros and cons at this

point because you did save a lot of time in the application process but it did take some

time.

Not a lot of time but some time to actually remove the product itself.

To me I think this product is still more beneficial in terms of saving time because ain't nobody

got hours to wait for their nail polish to dry and so what if it took half an hour to

remove.

Yes it was a pain in the butt but it still saved me a ton of time in the end.

So in terms of the actual outcome of the product itself I actually am really satisfied with

it.

The cracking of the nail polish wasn't a deal breaker for me because to me it didn't take

away from the appearance of the nail because you only really noticed it if you were looking

really closely at the nails.

And there was no chipping after seven days so it did live up to the claim on the website.

Now it probably would have lasted another seven days but I just chose to remove it so

I could test out the removal process out for you guys.

So I am super impressed with the longevity of this process.

As well the high shine of this.

Like look how gorgeous these look.

I just think they look absolutely beautiful.

So is this Sally Hansen Miracle Gel a product I would recommend?

Most definitely.

So I actually can't wait to pick up a few more shades in this.

I just love it so much.

Now this actually is a lot more affordable than a typical gel manicure.

Now when I went to Walmart the bottles are about nine ninety nine each but they usually

do have a promo where they were two for eighteen so it's definitely a lot more affordable than

going to your salon for a gel manicure.

So that's another plus in my opinion.

Okay guys thank you so much for watching.

I hope you enjoyed the review.

If you have used this product please comment down below I would love to know your experience.

If you did experience any cracking and you figured out a way to stop that cracking I

would love to hear that as well.

Alright thank you guys again so much for watching.

Please give the video a thumbs up.

Also be sure to check out any of my latest videos and I will see you guys next time.

Bilingual Layered ASMR (Spanish/English) | Instrument tapping, scratching & whispers - Duration: 44:01.

hello everyone

good evening

and welcome

to a very special video

tonight

I'm recording with my twin

we're going to speak

different languages

she speaks Spanish

and I speak English

we're going to show you

some musical instruments

she

has a bagpipe

bagpipe

and I

have my flute

flute

well

it's only part of a bagpipe

the chanter

that you use to practice

before you buy the whole thing

the bag

and the other pipes

which are very expensive

she's only played

the bagpipe

for a few years

and she has no time to practice

so

she doesn't have a whole one

but I

started playing the flute

when I was

ten or eleven years old

and I played in school

for several years

so

it's a pretty nice flute

we'll start

by opening

the cases

hers isn't as complicated

as the case

for my flute

that one

they use

to send in the mail

this case, for the flute

adds more protection

we reveal

the instrument

the flute

doesn't have

that part

but

the bagpipe

doesn't have

the fabric

like the flute

we have

the head

they're called the same thing

for both instruments

but that

is made of plastic

and mine

is made of metal

hers also

has a little bit

of texture

that the flute doesn't have either

for both

you put your mouth

on this part

for the flute

this right here

with the hole

and, for the bagpipe

it's over there

which also has a hole

and now

we have the body

of both

this part

has the holes

and the keys

for the flute

and you put the head

here

and the fingers

in this part

to change

the pitch

and now

we're going

to a part

that is unique

to each

the flute

has its foot

and the bagpipe

has that part

the reed

it make vibrations

as you blow

it's like

an oboe

now

well put both of them together

maybe

you might have noticed

two things

about my hands tonight

first

that I have

the same nails

that I had

in the last two videos

but

I've decided

that I like these colors

they're metallic

and pretty

and they're neutral

so

it doesn't matter

what I wear

and, recently

this week

I've felt like recording

like one or two days

after the last session

so, I haven't had time

to change them

every time

and two

the other thing

is that I have

this bandage

on my finger

and that

is because of the cat

we were playing

a few hours ago

and she scratched me

accidentally, I'm sure

but, I didn't want to show you

when I was a kid

I always wanted to learn

to play the flute

since I was six or seven

something like that

but

when I started

to play

I had to practice

for three weeks

before I could

make any sound

I was really hard for me

to learn

how

to position my lips

but, I practiced a lot

I also tried

to learn to play

the trumpet

in high school

but

I couldn't

I didn't like

making the vibrations

with my lips

it hurt my mouth

I think, more than when I started the flute

and so, I decided

to always play

woodwind instruments

oh

I forgot

I also tried

to learn

to play the drums

but

again

I didn't like it

I can't

with my hands

I like

blowing and moving my fingers

and that's it

I also like celtic music

like the music you can play

with these instruments

with woodwinds

you can play

a lot of celtic music

with these instruments

with the flute

and especially

with the bagpipes

I've always liked

that style

a lot

and I even have

one of my tattoos

that represents

that music

those songs

always make me

want to dance

so, when I saw

a group

near me

that

had bagpipe classes

I had

to do it

and that was

three years ago

something like that

and now

I don't play much

of the bagpipe or the flute

but

two or three times a year

I can play

some celtic songs

or some Christmas songs

with the flute

I can play

two songs

with the bagpipe

and mostly

they're for practicing

I need

I need a space

that I can use

to practice

where nobody can hear me

because that thing

is very noisy

well

now

I'm going to say goodbye

so

I hope

that you have enjoyed

the sounds

and the style

of this video

and that you feel relaxed

so

good night

Jennifer Akerman, Tom Payne's Fiancee: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know | Heavy.com

Tom Payne's character on 'The Walking Dead' may have met his end on Sunday's episode of the series, but the actor shared some exciting news on the live episode of 'Talking Dead' after the show aired– he's engaged!.

Payne, 35, is now engaged to Swedish singer and model Jennifer Akerman.

Here's what you need to know about the couple:.

They Have Been Dating Since 2013.

According to People, Akerman and Payne have been an item since 2013.

The two are six years apart– Akerman is 29, while Payne is 35.

How did the news of their engagement come about? While speaking on The Walking Dead's aftershow, hosted by Chris Hardwick, Payne was asked when he heard about his character's demise.

He shared, "I got the call like, an episode before and I was texting my girlfriend, now fiancée…".

At that point, Hardwick interrupted him and offered him a "Congratulations!".

She Was Linked to Tom Cruise in 2012.

   .

In 2012, Akerman was linked to superstar Tom Cruise.

Rumors that the two were an item surfaced after they were photographed together in a Stockholm nightclub.

Not long after the picture went viral, Tom Cruise publicly denied he and Jennifer were an item.

A source was then quoted as telling E! News, "The whole thing is completely ridiculous.

Jennifer was there with her whole family who were cropped out of the picture.

She happily lives with her boyfriend in LA.".

Reports from the nightclub claimed that the two were spending time together in the VIP area of the club.

Speaking to the outlet Noje in 2013, Akerman opened up about her meeting with Cruise, saying, "He is extremely nice." She went on to say that they were familiar with each other becuase Cruise had worked with Jennifer's sister.

"He said he had respect for musicians and wanted to hear my music.

It's fun, because I think there's so much focus on them so they think it's nice not to talk about themselves.".

She "Calls Him out on His S***".      .

In an interview with Women's Health Magazine last year, Payne opened up about his relationship, and what makes it work.

He said, "She was the first person who wasn't afraid to challenge me and call me on my shit.

The actor continued, "A few weeks in, we had an argument on the street, and I said to her, 'I don't do this!' I was in a relationship for 10 years before this one, and we never argued, mainly because I always had the power.

But with this relationship, it's a fifty-fifty split.

We're totally invested.".

Akerman, who has blogged for Veckerovyn, Chic, and Metro Mode, was featured as a celebrity dancer on the dance show 'Let's Dance' in 2013.

She Is the Sister of Actress Malin Akerman.

   .

Jennifer is the sister of actress Malin Akerman, who fans may recognize as Katherine Heigl's sister in 27 Dresses.

Malin has also appeared in movies like The Utopian Society, Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle, and held a supporting role on the comedy series The Comeback.

Jennifer admits that people have treated her differently because of her sister.

Speaking to Noje in 2014, she said that she would have pursued music and modeling were even if her sister was not a successful Hollywood actress.

Along with acting, Malin is a singer, and was the lead vocalist for an alternative rock band called The Petalstones.

She Is a Model and Singer.

Akerman works primarily as a singer and songwriter.

At 19, she moved to Los Angeles to focus on her modeling career.

Not long after, she decided to turn her attention to music.

These days, Jennifer is repped by an agency in New York City.

She admits that the modeling world can be cutthroat, sharing with Noje, "But I'm actually a little bit crazy about that industry, how to look at girls that they are so thin and lose weight.

I hate it.".

Speaking to Noje, the musician said, "I've always dreamed about it.

When I came to the United States I went and saw a lot of new bands.

A year ago, I felt that was what I really wanted to do so I chose to bet on myself.".

Asked where she sees herself in five years, Jennifer said, "I have released two albums, been on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine, played at the Coachella Festival and collaborated with lots of great musicians and producers.
