hi and good morning this mujahid aldhaif
whenever i say im going to ethiopia i recieve this reaction
why are you going to ethiopia
why are you going to ethiopia
why are you going to ethiopia ?
but when you know what ethiopia has to offer
and its tourism potential
you will be happy to visit
lets talk in this video about the things which you need as a tourist going to ethiopia
when i posted Malaysian info video , i got a comment from a guy called
arif al naqeeb
great information but we need more clarification starting from
airport , transport , prices
hotel prices for different types
food prices , how do you spend you day and night
and tour plans , you can post it in different videos
according to your prespective
and thank you so much
oko bro arif , this info video will be with more information about ethiopia
in my previous videos
people were saying in the comment section
you didnt talk much about ethiopia
so in this video , there will be only information
its not a vlog
but an information video about Ethiopia
number 1
as a saudi tourist you need visa for ethiopia unfortunately
there are 2 ways to issue an ethiopian visa
1- through the Ethiopian embassy
2- e-visa
through thier website
it takes usually less than 24 hours to issue
this is the website you can issue an ethiopian e-visa
for other countries
many countries dont need visa to visit ethiopia
others can take it from the airport
you as a tourist check about your passport requirement before you come
it costs around 100 riyals for e-visa
200-250 through the embassy
no.2 , the currency is called Birr
one birr is equal to
this is XE website for currencies , they say one riyal
equals 7.5 birr now in 2018
so its 7.5 to 8 bir for each riyal
3 , transportation
you have many options , one ,
public buses
i dont recommend them
2- the blue taxies
which has a cultural background to it
old taxis , dated to 50s and 60s of the previous century
and its still working somehow
if you want a unique experience , and a cheap option , try them
but my advice would be to take
the yellow taxis , which are safer but a bit expensive
finally you also have the option to rent a private car and with driver
and he will take you around
and will take approximately 1000 birr
4, ethiopian economy
the primary income source is from
exporting coffee
the origin of coffee in the world is from ethiopia
if ethiopia was not there you wouldnt be drinking coffee now
5, weather
addis ababa is usually cold , why is that ?
its at 2450 feet above sea level
and its considered the 4th highest capital city in the world
thats why its cold
outside addis its usually warmer
you would need a t shirt in addis ababa
and pants plus a light jacket for cold nights
the weather in ethiopia
is variable , you can find hot places and cold ones
and the hottest place in the world is here in ethiopia
here
the rainy season is june july and august
lots of rain
summer vocation time
if you come in this time , be prepared
dry season is november december and january
little rain falls
the tourism here is based on historical and cultural aspect
dont forget that
ethiopia is the first country in the world
the story goes that when King solomon married
queen Balqees they had a son named Menelik I
menelik I travelled from Jerusalem to Ethiopia
and he was the first emperor of ethiopia
and after him all rulers were from his decent
thats why all Ethiopian Emperors
were decendant of Menelik and hence Solomon
this is in the history books
is it true or not , we dont know
Balqees in ethiopian culture named Makeeda
and not Balqees
Balqees is taken from a word
in greek language means Maiden
looks like Balqees's name was Makeeda
the last emperor of Ethiopia was Haile Selassie
he died in the 70s of the previous century
and then the country became a democratic country
so dont be surprised to know that there a lot of Historical places in Ethiopia
old places and churches
its said that the first , bible is here as well
African Jews are living only in Ethiopia
there is no other african country which has African jews except Ethiopia
ethiopia is considered 2nd largest populated african country
after nigeria
100 million
7 , ethiopia is one of the cheapest countries for tourism
average meal
will cost you 10 riyals saudi
also the hotels are cheaper
compared to other countries
i cant tell you exactly the prices
every hotel is different according to the season and facilities
so i cant precisely tell
4 stars approximately cost you 100-200 riyals per night
5 stars
300-400
hotels change their prices from time to time
even in the same stars categories
there are 4 stars cheap , and others expensive
the Sheraton is a hotel where all the Diplomats stay in
when they come to ethiopia
and its the most expensive hotel in Ethiopia
in my Vlog of Uganda i said
the nile originates from Victoria lake
a lot of people attacked me
and started saying , it originates from ethiopia and not Uganda
look for the reality guys
nile has 2 origins , White nile, and Blue nile
white nile originates from Victoria lake in uganda
from Jinja
the second origin is from Lake Tana in ethiopia
and its called the blue nile
they travel together and unite in sudan
and travel to egypt, and that's the reality
this was a short information video on ethiopia
if you like it please share it with all your friends
and subscribe to the channel
this is Mujahid Aldhaif , ill see you later
bye
the hotel i stayed in ill leave a link in the description
fun watch
one last information
the word Ethiopia is taken from two greek words
which means burned faces because they thought
the sun sets in ethiopia everyday and burns the faces of people
and that's why they have desserts
that's what the greek thought back in the day
I call Ethiopia , a land of smiles !
hi, hi ,hi
