Kelly Canon: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know
Texas Congressman Joe Barton has confirmed that he sent sext messages on Facebook to a well-known Tea Party activist in the state.
On November 28, the Fort-Worth Star Telegram published a report alleging that Barton had sent sexual messages to his constituent Kelly Canon. The report came a week after he apologized for sending a nude photo to a different woman.
The messages were sent between 2012 and 2013 while Barton was married to his second wife, Terri.
One message saw Barton ask Canon if she was "wearing a tank top only… and no panties?" that was quickly followed with "answer me miss evasive. " Another message from Barton said, "men are men… and u r definitely a sexy woman.
Canon told him that "all the good ones are married" to which Barton said, "I don't know about good… but I am married … I am not thinking good thoughts at this moment … blush.
Barton confirmed to the Star Telegram that the messages were real, saying, "I will affirm I did have the exchange, but nothing more. Here's what you need to know:.
Canon's Opponent for City Council in 2016 Said He Would Much Rather Talk to a Parrot Than Her.
Canon's run for Arlington City Council in 2016 was covered by the Dallas Morning News.Canon was challenging "hothead" Charlie Parker for the seat, according to the Morning News.
In response to a letter Canon had sent him, Parker responded, "I am convinced you are the most negative person that I have ever encountered. I have absolutely no respect for the Kelly Canon's [sic] of the world.
I would much rather talk to a parrot.". Shortly afterwards, Canon announced her candidacy for Parker's seat in 2016 via Twitter. Ulitmately her bid failed.
An advocacy website for Canon wrote that the Tea Party activist was "firm, principled, courteous, and unlike her opponent, she will not be described by the Dallas Morning News as '…the rudest city council member in North Texas, based on samples of his emails to constituents.' Kelly will listen to your concerns, not laugh in your face.".
Canon's Major Political Goal Was to Abolish Red Light Cameras in Texas.
Canon's goal of abolishing red light traffic cameras in Texas earned her national attention as Fox News covered her struggle. Canon told the network that she believed a liberal PAC had paid protesters $18 to counteract her group's demonstrations.
Canon said, "The marketing firm is trying to create an illusion of local support for the camera. You basically have a camera company trying to save their monetary hide. They are creating fake groups that they hide behind.".
The Fox News report covers how Canon set up a PAC, Citizens For a Better Arlington, with her friend Faith Bussey. Prior to coming forward with the messages, Canon told the Star Telegram, "I did two days of soul searching.
I got this feeling his ego was getting in the way.".
Canon Campaigned for Donald Trump. According to posts on her Facebook page, Canon actively campaigned for Donald Trump. Canon writes in her bio on Facebook, "I'm an 8th generation Texan and graduate of Texas A&M University ('82) with a degree in Architecture.
Canon is a native of Lake Jackson, Texas, and now lives in Arlington. On her website, Canon says that she attended Brazoswood High School. For 20 years, Canon has been employed by Facilities Space Planner in Arlington.
Canon told the Washington Post that "97 percent" of the messages she exchanged with Barton were about Texas A&M football but "whenever he would take the conversation south, as it were, I would not engage him in further discussion.
I would shut it down." Canon also told the Post that "It killed" her to release the messages but said that "the Democrats are going to have a feeding frenzy" in the 2018 election.
Barton Says He Apologized to Canon; While Canon Says She Never Received an Apology.
On November 29, Canon told the Washington Post that Rep. Barton never apologized for sending her obscene messages. Though speaking to the Star Telegram, a consultant said that Barton did apologize for sending the messages.
Canon said in her interview with the Star Telegram, "He took it a step far on rare occasions. He was very fascinated with my attire, to the point of being inappropriate.". Calls for Barton to Resign Continue to Grow.
Shortly after the Star Telegram published the revelations about Barton's sext messages, the newspaper published an editorial titled, "Hey Joe, It's Time to Go." The piece concludes with the line, "Joe Barton has acknowledged the two incidents we know about.
He's said he's sorry he sent the nude photo. Now he needs to say good-bye.".
While Canon told the Star Telegram, "[Barton] actually thinks he can win. I thought maybe if I come forward maybe others will come forward too… Someone has to step up.
This is a pattern." The same article notes that Tarrant County Republican Chairman Tim O'Hare has called for Barton to resign. Barton has represented Texas' 6th Congressional District since 1985.

Bryon Hefner: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know
LinkedIn LinkedIn profile of Bryon Rosenberg/Bryon Hefner (LinkedIn). Bryon Hefner, the husband of Massachusetts Senate President Stanley Rosenberg, has been accused of sexual misconduct by four different men, the Boston Globe reported on Nov. 30. Here's five things to know:.
The Globe Interviewed 20 People Before Printing the Story. FacebookA cartoon image of himself, which Bryon Hefner Rosenberg posted to Facebook in April (Facebook).
Four different men told the Globe that Hefner harassed or sexually assaulted them over the past few years: three saying Hefner grabbed their genitals, and one saying Hefner kissed him against his will.
The Globe's account says their "account is based on interviews with 20 people who have dealt with Hefner or know his alleged victims.
All of the men said they felt powerless to report the incidents because they feared alienating Rosenberg, with whom they believe Hefner has tremendous influence. Reporting Hefner's behavior to Rosenberg or the authorities was a career-threatening prospect, they said.".
The newspaper gave anonymity to Hefner's four accusers, because all must still work with Rosenberg and interact with Hefner.
However, the Globe said, "Each of their stories was confirmed by people who witnessed or talked to the victims shortly after the incidents they described, and, in one case, by e-mails describing the alleged assaults soon after they occurred.".
The Globe account does specify that they found no indication Rosenberg was aware of Hefner's alleged misconduct. Neither Hefner nor Rosenberg would speak to the Globe about the story, but both said they were surprised by the allegations.
Hefner is 38 Years Younger Than his Spouse. FacebookStan Rosenberg's profile photo on Facebook (Facebook). According to a February 2015 profile piece announcing the couple's engagement in MassLive.com, Hefner and Rosenberg started dating in September 2008.
Hefner interned in Rosenberg's office before their romantic involvement, and from 2010 through 2013 was chair of The Rosenberg Committee, his partner's fundraising and strategy organization. When Rosenberg asked Hefner to marry him, Rosenberg was 65 years old and Hefner was 27.
The couple married on September 6, 2016.
Hefner has Long Been Viewed as a Potential Political Liability for his Husband. FacebookFacebook profile photo of Bryon Hefner Rosenberg (Facebook).
In December 2014, before Hefner and Rosenberg decided to marry but well after their romantic partnership became known (and after Rosenberg became the Massachusetts Senate's president-elect), the Boston Globe noted that many state senators were concerned about certain behaviors exhibited by their incoming president's partner.
As the Globe noted, "Mocking tweets attributed to Hefner have sparked anger, as have his reported boasts about the influence he would wield when his partner takes over next month.".
At the time, Rosenberg assured his senatorial colleagues that he would erect a "firewall" between his public duties and private life (a claim MassLive mentioned two months later, when it announced Rosenberg and Hefner's upcoming marriage).
When Rosenberg was elected president of the Massachusetts Senate, Hefner was working for Regan Communications Group, a prominent Boston public relations firm.
In December 2014, after Hefner and Rosenberg's relationship inspired much public scrutiny, Regan announced that Hefner would be reassigned to an office in Jupiter, Florida.
Hefner's LinkedIn page, where he goes by his married name Bryon Rosenberg (although the page's actual address is BryonHefnerMA), says he worked at Regan Communications from May 2014 to January 2015.
Hefner Used to be Considered a Success Story for Overcoming Long Odds. Bryon Hefner had a rough start in life, spending most of his childhood in and out of various foster homes.
But he graduated high school at the top of his class, did well in college, and by age 28 had a job at a prestigious regional PR firm, and a fiance who'd recently been elected to one of the most powerful positions in state politics.
By late 2014, when Hefner's behavior was generating concern in Massachusetts political observers, most coverage of Hefner came from that angle: a young man successfully overcomes a tough childhood, then starts sabotaging his adult success.
The Boston Globe's 2014 story covering concerns over Rosenberg's partner's behavior was headlined "For senator's partner, uproar is unexpected turn in a resilient life" and kicked off by noting "Until recently, Bryon Hefner was widely considered a success story – a former foster child who was homeless, abused, and shuttled through a dozen homes but still managed to graduate from high school with honors and go on to college and a career.".
Similarly, when Bay Windows (a blog serving New England's LGBT community) published its "Open Letter to Bryon Hefner" in December 2014, the letter said in part "You've heard this before —you're a success story.
Rising from a heartbreaking childhood, in and out of foster care—and finishing at the top of your high school class, on to college and at 28 you've got a job at the most powerful public relations firm in the region and your boyfriend is about to become one of the most powerful men in the state.
And even better, he credits you with nursing him through illness and helping him come to terms with his sexual orientation. It's a Cinderella story—starring you!".
In 2008, the Worcester Telegram featured Hefner in its story "Coming of Age," about young adults who grew up in foster care (specifically, focusing on the fact that very few people, whether raised in foster care or by their own families, are able to achieve successful adult self-sufficiency the second they turn 18, which can be problematic for former foster kids who have state support pulled before they're ready).
Hefner Generated Controversy Over a Now-Dormant Twitter Account.
Most of the 2014-era Massachusetts political controversies regarding Hefner stemmed from GeneralHooker@24Beacon, a Twitter account which describes itself as "A candid & non-partisan look @ the pacesetters, game changers, & backbenchers that stalk the halls of the hub of the universe.
" ("Hub of the universe," of course, is a sarcastic reference to Beacon Hill, which is to Massachusetts as "Capitol Hill" is to the United States. ) The most recent tweet on the account is from June 2014.
Despite the "no-partisan" promise in the bio, the account clearly had a bias against various state-level politicians; when senators first started expressing concerns over their colleague's partner in 2014, one of their most-cited concerns was Hefner's tweets mocking Therese Murray (then the outgoing president of the Massachusetts Senate), in addition to Hefner's alleged boasts that he would influence his partner's decisions on Beacon Hill.
There are only 66 tweets in the entire @24Beacon Twitter archive, with roughly half of them mocking Therese Murray.

Romanian Experience #04 Happy Birthday - Duration: 7:26.
La Mulţi Ani is like
a magic trick
It will surprise you
First surprise
First time
I heard "La Mulţi Ani" at a birthday party
What a better way
I will always remember this word
because it was carried by a song
That I didn't know
What is happening?
What is this song?
It's a birthday
But where is the birthday song?
You know the normal song
What do you mean?
The normal song?
No but the normal song!
THE NORMAL SONG!
No, but we have our own song
Really!?
This is the day in which I discovered that the normal song
This international tune!
Actually comes from the song "Good morning to all"
And it is under copyright
I didn't know
When I found out that you actually have your own song
I said to myself
Romania
RESPECT!
Second surprise
and a big one
When your colleagues jump on you
and wish you "La Mulţi Ani"
But you don't know WHY?
La Mulţi Ani, Stéphane!
What, why, how come?
I am born in November and we are in July
Yes, but it's your national day
and...?
and "La Mulţi Ani!"
Ok, thank you
I've never said "La Mulţi Ani" to my compatriots on our national day
After I was thinking
Maybe I am a bad French citizen
Of course, the same day, the 14th of July
I had the party at the French embassy
I was totally lost
I didn't know if I had to say "Joyeux Anniversaire" to everyone
Third surprise
The versatility of "La Mulţi Ani" is magical
Welcome to the world of "La Mulţi Ani"
"La Mulţi Ani" is the word of 1001 words
It can mean many things
Let's see
This is my cap
Nothing in the cap
Nothing on top of the cap :)
Now...
The magic will happen
It is not what I wanted to do
Now...
Very powerful word
You cannot forget it
Because of all those repetitions within a year
Sometimes you can even be late on "La Mulţi Ani"
And it piles up on your desk
During my first year in Romania
I went to France for Christmas
And I came back after the New Year's Eve
Yeah! the only "Réveillon" that I didn't celebrate in Romania
Newbie mistake
While I was gone, a colleague had celebrated
Her birthday and her nameday
So when I came back
I had to get ready!
"La Mulţi Ani" for Christmas
"La Mulţi Ani" for the New Year
"La Mulţi Ani" for your birthday
"La Mulţi Ani" for your nameday
Within a year a person can receive
So many "La Mulţi Ani"
But of how many are we speaking about?
This might be the fifth surprise
What is her name?
Ioana Maria
Yes! you all have two names
As important!!!
Thank you for the precision
I like precision
So Ioana Maria without any additional parameters
She gets at least
Wait for it!
10 "La Mulţi Ani" during a year
So we already know that we have "La Mulţi Ani"
For birthday,
Christmas
New Year
and National day
You need to also take into consideration
We have "La Mulţi Ani"
For the 24th of January
the 1st of March
and the 8th of March
And on the top of that
We have the namedays
For Ioana
You have the nameday for Maria
And you have Maria part 2
Yeah! Maria has two namedays
The sixth surprise and how useful this word is
You can really turn it to your advantage
For example, you are at work
You pop-up into an office
And you see a lot of food and many people
You feel a little bit lost
It was not what you expected
You just have to say out loud "La Mulţi Ani"
And even if you don't know who is celebrating
It's OK
Be patient
Look at the horizon
And the person will actually tell you back "La Mulţi Ani"
Why?
"La Mulţi Ani"
Thank you, "La Mulţi Ani"
No, "La Mulţi Ani" to you
Yes, "La Mulţi Ani"
No, no, I insist "La Mulţi Ani"
Please keep it
Keep it, please
"La Mulţi Ani"
Conclusion
Word for word
"La Mulţi Ani" means many more years
What could you wish better to people
La mulţi ani România!
Good day bro
It's me the great Younime
Are you ready for an extrasensorial experience
First subscribe to the YouTube channel and like the Facebook page
Ok let's start!
Mulţi ani trăiască, mulţi ani trăiască, la mulţi ani!
Mulţi ani trăiască, mulţi ani trăiască, la mulţi ani!

how to get rid of dark elbows - 5 effective and Natural Ways - Duration: 4:45.
How to Get Rid of Dry and Scaly Elbows ! As the winter is approaching really fast,
many people worry about their dry and scaly elbows.
It's a common and really annoying problem.
If the dryness is severe, the area may even become very itchy.
The skin around the elbows is much thicker than on the rest of the body and has fewer
oil glands to keep the skin moist.
The cool, dry winter weather sucks the moisture not just out of the air but also out of your
skin.
Apart from weather, there can be many other reasons why your elbows have become dry and
scaly.
Exfoliate ! Exfoliating your elbows is the first and most
important step for getting rid of dry and scaly skin.
Exfoliating removes the dead skin cells and exposes healthy skin underneath.
It will also improve the skin tone.
It is recommended to exfoliate while taking a bath or shower, when your skin is moist
and warm.
You can use a loofah, rough washcloth, exfoliating glove or even a pumice stone to exfoliate
the rough skin.
No matter what you use for exfoliating, do it gently.
Rough handling will only exacerbate the problem.
After exfoliating, wash the area well with cool water, pat your elbows dry and then rub
in a few drops of olive oil or some moisturizing lotion to restore moisture.
Exfoliate your skin once or twice a week only, and not more than that.
Petroleum Jelly ! Petroleum jelly, a common item in nearly every
medicine cabinet, is another very effective agent to deal with dry, itchy elbows.
Its moisturizing property can help combat the dry scales of skin.
Also, this thick emollient acts as a barrier on the skin and seals in moisture to help
rehydrate your skin.
Before going to bed, wash your elbows thoroughly with lukewarm water and gently pat dry your
skin.
Apply a thick layer of petroleum jelly on your elbows.
Cover your elbows with stretchy tennis wristbands and go to sleep.
The next morning, use warm water to wash off any petroleum jelly that remains on your elbows.
Repeat daily.
Coconut Oil ! Coconut oil is highly moisturizing in nature,
and hence very effective for treating dry and scaly elbows.
It has vitamin E that can help lighten the skin tone along with reducing dryness.
Slightly warm up some coconut oil in a microwave.
Liberally rub the warm oil on your elbows.
Gently massage your elbows, so the oil penetrates deep into the skin.
Do this after taking a shower and again before going to bed.
Do this daily until your dry elbows become smooth.
Instead of coconut oil, you can also use olive or almond oil.
Aloe Vera ! Aloe vera is an amazing natural moisturizer
that can help deal with dry and scaly elbows.
It can keep the skin moisturized as well as treat damaged skin cells, if the problem is
due to excessive sun exposure.
It also helps even out your skin tone.
Extract the gel from a fleshy aloe vera leaf.
Apply the gel on your elbows.
Let it sit for 20 minutes, then wash it off with warm water.
Repeat 1 or 2 times daily for a few weeks.
Honey ! Honey is an amazing natural moisturizer for
your dry and scaly elbows.
It penetrates deep inside the skin to keep it moisturized.
Also, being a natural humectant, it helps your skin retain moisture.
Apply raw, organic honey on your elbows.
Leave it on for 20 minutes.
Wash it off with warm water.
Repeat this remedy 1 or 2 times daily to cure dry elbows fast.
Alternatively, mix together equal amounts of honey and whole milk.
Apply it on your dry skin.
Wait 10 minutes, then take a shower.
Repeat daily, or as needed.

Concur integration ... aka when you have to work with API written in Cobol Radosław Jędryszczak - Duration: 7:48.
hi everyone today I have a short presentation about Concur
Concur is business travel and expense management software which is available as a SaaS and
I had to write integration with the API which accepts files with a specific format
and to my best knowledge this back-end is written in COBOL
which sounds very strict and so is the format I had to supply this API
and the beginning of my presentation will be some screenshot from the documentation
which is kind the many pages
let's see what we have here we have a table of contents
you can see some introduction and overview of different chunks of data
you can actually include in that file
we have some rules for file name we have
some rules for file format and example file which which goes like this it has
to begin with some kind of header then there is some transaction included for example
transaction can be withdrawal from the ATM transaction can be some kind of
payment in the hotel and etc there are different types of records which has to
start the header with the specific numbers and of course there are different
field types for example we have amount and a lot of rules associated with
providing the amount and was a date num and stuff I don't even understand
and here's a example specification for a cardholder account and
what's fun with the specification is that each field has to have a
specific width so even there's nothing you provide for that account data you
have to you have to include in that line a specific amount of blank spaces
otherwise it won't be parsed correctly with the back-end so as you can see it's
fun and I had to think about translating all this complicated set of rules into
Ruby language the answer here is a PORO a good pronounced in Polish means
Plain Old Ruby Object and if you remember my previous presentation it was
about Service Objects and why this word is banned in that world of mine the
project I'm working with and it turns out that if you name if you start
talking about your code using the Plain Old Ruby Object it's okay but it's not
if you talk about Service Object you may ask yourselves what's the difference I
would like to think that basically there's none except that
for Service Object we sometimes include for our convenience some simple DSL which
includes for example call method which in turn instantiates itself
because it is a class method instantiates itself as instance and maybe some other syntactic sugar
so it was that I can use a class to kind of encapsulate a set of rules
using simple DSL and solution is
this is simplified solution we base our code on
thank you for special effects
we base our code on the simple class
which defines a kind of storage for all the defined records which
accepts the following options and two most important methods
one not included in the slide one is output because we expect that our class
should be able to kinda output itself to a file we are going to generate and
supply to the Concur back-end and the method part which handles all the rules
concerning giving the right amount of blank spaces between different field
types and here's a example usage of that class we inherit from it
we have some CashAdvanceTransactions is one of the types specified
within the documentation and here is just the set of rules that kind of object should
know about itself we can pass some defaults etc all according to the rules
and another short example
for example CardholderAccount I've been talking about at the beginning of presentation
and usage is not as sexy as it looks here
for example here we have a part where
we take the transactions we retrieve it to some
another external database we iterate over it and
instantiate a new record of specific type and we just use our
definitions from the class the example I provided in the previous slide
and we write that record to our file
which later we send to the Concur and that's it
thanks any questions

It's not about AI or tech... - Duration: 0:24.
Hello from Helsinki and we're ready for day 2 at Slush.
Yesterday was very inspiring. I had so many insights and I just
want to share one thing one of the speakers said
and that's - well - if you're talking about AI (Artificial Intelligence), and this goes for any form of tech,
at the end of the day it's not about the tech, it's about what you do with it.
Keep that in mind. It's simple, but keep it in mind. Always.

Video Marketing - How Video Can Amplify Your Visibility - Duration: 4:53.
Today we are going to talk about why it's so important that you are
constantly honing your leadership communication skills. And I am delighted
to be joined today - all the way from a cold but rather bright day over in
Newcastle - its Antoinette Oglethorpe who is a leadership development expert and
also quite the blogger. Hello Antoinette. So today I thought Antoinette
we'd talk a little bit about video communication skills. As somebody who
creates a deal of content, why is video becoming more important to you? Well, I
think it's - especially in my field - all my work is about working with people and a
lot of it is about standing up in front of people. So, I run a lot of leadership
development programs, for example. And so, if people are thinking about hiring me,
it's all very well reading my great thoughts and my blog or reading my book...
and getting a feel for that...But, if they want to know: Can this person stand in
front of a room without dribbling down their front...They're not going to get that confidence
reading the written word. So, I think more than ever - given that the nature of my
work is standing up in front of people - people want to see me standing up in front
of people. Yeah and I have that image now... dribbling down your front, whether it's a
shirt or a frock, is not a good plan. But, if you are thinking about you know... So you've
experimented with video quite a bit so far...but if you are thinking about maybe
one or two key skills that you'd love to develop a little bit more - because nobody
is an expert at the outset: What would be top of your list? For me it would be
being able to create short, sharp, bite-sized videos that I could put on
YouTube. So, at the moment, all the video content I've got is where other people
have videoed me - because I've been speaking at events. And it's it's long
because the event is long. And I don't necessarily have the editing skills. So
that's the other thing. And it's not really...it's not purposeful. So,
they've just recorded me doing something else - whereas, it would be good to have stuff
that I'd created specifically for YouTube that says 'well this is me' and
'this is what I know that'. Yeah, I think that's absolutely perfect. And actually,
therein lies a really important lesson folks which incidentally - and this is a
slight plug for godovideo which is happening in Newcastle on the 7th of
December- learning how to figure out what kind of content you want to create is
really really important. Because, you've got to understand that when people are
going on YouTube they're looking for something. And the question is: if you
want people to click on something, are you actually giving them something that
they need and they'll stay online for a while. So absolutely that and last
question for you Antoinette: If you think about what that can do for
you - if you're creating content that gets people to come and visit you more
often on YouTube- what would that do for you from a visibility perspective? Oh I
think that would be great. I mean, as I say: In the nature of my
work, I think people need to see me in action and I work all over the world and
all over the country and I'm based in Newcastle. So the more that I can raise
my visibility nationally and globally from the comfort of my lovely office
where I am right now, then the easier, the wider reach, the more cost-effective it
is for me. Because I can't, you know, get on a train and plane every time that
someone wants to see me in action. So yeah, that would be really help
absolutely. So folks, you heard it here from Antoinette what the beauty about
creating video is - you literally can connect with people worldwide. And that
is - if there are many many reasons - but that's one of the most important reasons
why doing more video makes a deal of sense. Antoinette, thanks a million. I look
forward to seeing you a Newcastle next week. Brilliant!
