But in this video, I'll be sharing the basics to writing a book in Google Docs.

These tips will help new writers who have a desire to write a book but don't know

how to begin.

So I've done a previous video on formatting a book in MS Word and I'll link that for

those of you who missed it.

But I wanted to provide another option for those of you who may not have access to MS

Word and are looking for a good free alternative.

Now to be clear this video will focus on how to format a manuscript.

Once your manuscript is completed, you'll share your formatted manuscript with your

writing coach, beta readers, editors, and for those of you who seek to traditionally

publish, you will share your manuscript with your agent and then later a publishing company.

So… here's why I like Google Docs for new writers. First of all, it's entirely online!

Which means that you can be anywhere with Internet access and have the ability to update

your manuscript.

It also saves your manuscript automatically… Now if you've ever lost your manuscript and

didn't have a backup, then you'll understand why this is such a huge huge bonus!

So now let's get into how to format your book in Google Docs.

Now of course I'm going to be sharing the basics…the things you need to know in order

to get started.

Let's start with the page setup.

Click file, then page setup and just confirm that there is a one inch margin on the top, bottom,

left and right.

This should be set as the default for a page size of 8.5x11 but I just want you to confirm it first.

Next is the font.

So the most common font for formatting a manuscript is Times New Roman.

You can also use Arial and Courier New.

But for the sake of this video, we're going to select Times New Roman.

The font size should be 12.

Again, we're trying to make it as easy as possible for the person reviewing the document.

Now on to the title page.

On the very first line you're going to include your first and last name.

You're going to tab over to the right and type word count.

Now this is important because your writing coach, editor and formatter will provide you

a quote based off this word count.

An agent also needs to know your word count to determine whether your manuscript falls

within the word count of the genre you write.

So to determine your word count, you want to go to the Tools menu and then select word

count.

On the next line you're going to include your address and on the very next line you're going

to include your city, state, and zip code.

Then on the next line add your email address.

Now when you're including your email address, make sure that it's an email that you check

regularly.

This is going to be the email that you're going to share with your editor, writing coach,

an agent or publishing company.

Drop down to the middle of the page and you're going to put the title of your manuscript

in all capital letters.

Then you're going to drop down two lines and type 'By' and then your author name.

This is your title page.

Go to insert, break, page break.

Once your title page is complete you'll want to insert a page break.

This ensures that your next page starts on a new page.

We're going to click insert, header and page number. Choose header and then enter your name and

the title of your manuscript on the left and the page number on the right.

Go to insert, header and page number, page number,

and then choose the second option on the top right.

Next we're going to go to format, line spacing, and then choose double.

So that's the basics for how to format your document and write a book in Google Docs.

Hunting Quarters From Bank Hopping - Can I Find Silver? - Duration: 8:49.

let's do a quarter hunt today

Hey everyone it's Rob with Rob finds treasure and if you watched one of my last

videos when I was Bank hopping around trying to build a box of quarters and dimes

this is that box of quarters so I ran around to about eight chase banks and

cashed in $100 at every single one of them and got a mixture of dimes and

quarters so I've built a quarter box in a dime box and today we're gonna go

through the quarter box now obviously will state the obvious we've got

customer rolls we've got machine wrapped rolls so I'm kind of curious to see how

it goes the fun thing about this hunt is about every seven or eight rolls is a

different Bank so if I get into a streak where I'm not finding anything I'm not

gonna assume it's from the same customer because it's several different banks so

that's kind of cool we could get lucky the unfortunate thing though is if I get

on a hot streak I only picked up seven or eight rolls so and I won't really

know which bank there are from at this point so we're kind of loss there that's

the negative some of the things we're gonna be looking for today is obviously

silver we're looking for anything that's silver the quarters from 1964 and older

are 90% silver so that's a good score we're also gonna be looking for some

clad quarters special note is the 83 Philadelphia and Denver mints they're

really hard to get in mint State and if you can find an 83 P or D quarter in

mint State it fetches a pretty penny from 10 to 50 bucks roughly that being

said you really want to pull out any quarter you find in mint state since

they're gonna fetch about three or four times their face value regardless if you

can find in a mint state 63 or 65 hard to find quarters they're heavily handled

heavily circulated in mint State but still we'll be looking for them and then

finally I always double check a couple of the state quarters for varieties

there's a lot of varieties but of note is the 2004 d Wisconsin there's a high

leaf and a low leaf variety and those fetch really good amounts especially if

they're better than an au 50 we're also going to be looking for the Minnesota

State Quarter because technically there is an extra tree in there the value is

not as much as the Wisconsin State Quarter err variety but we're still

gonna be looking for that at the end of the day

I haven't ever scored out of 11 boxes I've never scored a silver quarter so

we're hoping to find one today that being said let's kick it off with this

roll and as always I'll loop you in if I find something great

a customer wrapped roll guys and no silver but looks like there's a nickel in there

2015 we might have been shorted a quarter oh well let's keep looking

you know the camera angles weird guys but I needed to film this and I couldn't

hold and do what I wanted to do with one hand on the camera and one hand on the

quarters but we're on the twenty first roll of customer wrapped rolls and got

something that looks a little suspicious there it doesn't have the silver quarter

look but it does look silvery I'm gonna point to it in case you can't see it

it's right here so before I get heartbroken or

completely excited I want to do a live test with you guys we haven't taken a

look yet I just splayed the quarters into my hand tighten them up saw it put the

camera down started recording - got a magnet here so the test is that we're

gonna run the magnet across the quarters it fits a foreign it's not made out of a

copper alloy it's made out of something more magnetic which means it's a foreign

let's see what happens

well there you have it everyone 2016 Canadian quarter we'll take it the first

fight of the box that's worth mentioning the hunt continues all right guys we're

halfway through the box and we've got four of the Machine rolled rolls taken

care of as well as the twenty one customer wrapped rolls not much to show for

it we found a 2015 Nickel, a Canadian

2016 and three pretty nice coins that's a 2007 and 1995 and a 1978 I

wanted to show you that I don't find too many 2004 d Wisconsin state quarters

to go through but we looked at those three and there's no high or low leaf

halfway through the box let's get back to the hunt

whole roll of quarters from different years look like they've been machine

washed or treated some way they're in terrible conditions and it doesn't even

matter what year they are here's a 65 terrible condition 2013 same problem

1999 same problem I'll save you the agony but geez

it's weird to see a whole machine wrapped roll with all the quarters the

same way makes me a little nervous about which bank I got this at holy cow those

are terrible all right let's get back to the hunt yep well it looks like we got a

bunch of quarters that were mistreated we'll run through 'em and hope that

that's only seven or eight of those rolls at the most alright guys it ended

up being seven rolls that were just absolute trash I don't even sort through

those last three there's no need if I would have found something it would

have been worth by the condition anyway definitely

wasn't silver so we do that look at how beat the heck they are I was

able to tell by the ends which ones were which looks like these are in better

shape so let's get back to the real hunt all right guys we're on roll... what is

that 42 and we got our first find of the box really our first real find it's

in terrible condition but look at this it's a proof it is a quarter proof not

in great shape at all oh and it's a it's a Wisconsin proof 2004 Wisconsin again

terrible shape but it is my first quarter proof I've ever found that's a

little exciting because now that we found a proof maybe there's something

more in this box this one looks a little suspicious

just a little satiny finish but we're gonna get back to the hunt and maybe

there's something else in these rolls now that we found a proof you find a

proof you never know what else you could get I'm a little excited probably won't find much

but fingers are crossed.. let's keep looking well guys another box of quarters down

it's 12 that I've hunted I still didn't get a silver but you know what we

got some consolation prizes here 1965 kind of crazy edged coin I pulled it out

just because whoever did that I kind of liked it found a nickel in the box a

Canadian and a 2004 proof Lighting's not gonna get it perfectly there you go

three coins that I consider worthy of at least a second look this '07 is pretty

nice 95s got a couple of scratches and for a 78 you know what it's not a bad

coin it's not great either this box had a lot of bad coins in it we did look

at five total 2004 D Wisconsin's none of them had the

high or low leaf I'm not gonna give up on quarters but man it's becoming

increasingly more difficult for me to find silver quarters in circulation so I

ask the question are you finding them anyway I still enjoyed the hunt with me

Armando Juarez: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know

Two Dallas Police officers were shot and critically wounded Tuesday afternoon outside of a Home Depot in the Northeast section of the city, authorities said.

A civilian, believed to be a security guard, was also shot in the incident at the home improvement store, WFAA-TV reports.

The surviving officer is in critical condition, while the guard's condition was not immediately available.

Police are now searching for the suspect, identified as Armando Juarez, 29, in the surrounding area, according to WFAA-TV.

He is wanted for questioning, the news station reports.

The Home Depot is in the 11600 block of Forest Central Drive, near U.S.

Highway 75 and Forest Lane in the Lake Highlands neighborhood, according to police.

The names of the wounded officers have not been released.

Here's what you need to know about the suspect and the shooting:.

Officers Were Serving a Warrant With a Home Depot Security Guard When the Suspect Pulled Out a Gun & Shot Them.

Officers were helping an off-duty officer serve a warrant alongside a Home Depot security guard at the Lake Highlands store when the suspect pulled out a gun and shot them, WFAA-TV reports.

The wounded officers are a male and a female, sources told KTVT-TV's J.D.

Miles.

According to Miles, the male officer was shot in the back of the head and the female officer was shot in the face.

Both were gravely wounded, but WFAA-TV's Jason Whitely reports the female officer is now in stable condition, despite being shot in the face.

She is still undergoing surgery.

The news station also reported the 27-year-old male officer "flatlined" during surgery, but was resuscitated.

Police Chief Renee Hall was en route to Presbyterian Hospital, where the officers were taken.

It is not known what the suspect, identified as 29-year-old Armando Juarez, was wanted for.

The shooting happened about 4:15 p.m.

According to WFAA-TV, "Several Home Depot employees told WFAA that there was a ruckus behind the store and that they heard gunshots.

One employee said he saw two officers on the ground and wounded.".

The Suspect Is Wearing a White T-Shirt, Blue Jean Shorts & Is Possibly Armed With 2 Handguns.

Police described the suspect, Armando Juarez, as wearing a white T-shirt and blue jean shorts.

He was possibly armed with two handguns, according to police.

Juarez was arrested in January 2018 on charges of unlawful taking of a motor vehicle, according to KXAS-TV.

No other information about the suspect has been released.

There were reports that the suspect had been taken into custody at Richland College, but when officers responded, they determined that man was not the one who was wanted in the shooting.

Police also detained another man near the scene, but he was also released.

Police Officers, K-9s & a Helicopter Were Searching for the Suspect in the Area Around the Home Depot, Including a Creek.

Police officers flocked to the scene of the shooting after an urgent call for officers down was put out on the radio.

Photos and videos taken by local reporters showed officers searching around a creek area.

K-9 officers were also searching the area.

A Dallas Police helicopter was also brought to the scene.

ATF agents were also responding to the scene to assist, the federal agency tweeted.

According to WFAA-TV, "More than a dozen police cars were still at the scene behind the store, near a line of trees.

At least one person could be seen being loaded onto an ambulance.

An officer with a police search dog was also on the scene, going into the wooded area.

Armored police vehicles were seen driving toward the Home Depot on U.S.

Officers could be seen searching the surrounding area for the suspect.".

Police Shut Down a Dallas Area Rapid Transit Station & Have Asked People to Stay Away From the Area.

A Dallas Area Rapid Transit station at Forest Lane was shutdown to keep people out of the search area and to prevent the suspect from leaving, the Dallas Morning News reports.

Trains were passing through the station without stopping.

Police have asked people to avoid the area as officers search for the suspect.

"We can confirm that two @DallasPD officers have been shot and critically wounded.

We will provide updates as we get them.

Please pray for our officers and their families," police said on Twitter.

"A civilian was also shot in this incident.

The condition of the civilian is unknown at this time.".

Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings tweeted, "We are closely monitoring the situation in northeast Dallas and praying for our officers and their families.

Governor Greg Abbott tweeted, "Our thoughts and prayers are with @DallasPD and the two officers shot and critically wounded.

Texas honors all the men and women who protect and serve our communities, and justice will be served.".

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton added, "As a major investigation continues in Dallas, please pray for the two heroic @DallasPD officers who have been shot in the line of service.

We also extend our thoughts and prayers to their families during this critical hour.".

Five Police Officers Were Shot & Killed in Dallas During an Ambush in July 2016.

Tuesday's incident was the first time a Dallas officer was shot in the line of duty since a 2016 ambush.

Five police officers, four who worked for the Dallas Police Department and one who worked for the Dallas Area Rapid Transit authority, were killed while patrolling at a Black Lives Matter rally on July 7, 2016.

The suspect in that shooting, Micah X.

Johnson, was an Army veteran who was angered by shootings of black men by police that had occurred in the weeks before the attack, authorities said.

Johnson barricaded himself inside a building near the scene of the shooting and was later blown up by police using a robot armed with explosives.

DART Officer Brent Thompson was killed along with Dallas Senior Corporal Lorne Ahrens, Sergeant Michael Smith and officers Michael Krol and Patrick Zamarippa.

A golf club in Pennsylvania is under fire after calling police on a group of black women after a co-owner of the club and his father claimed the group was playing too slowly while refusing requests to leave the premises.

The five black women who set out to play golf feel they were discriminated against, and said it was a "horrific experience.

Here's what you need to know:.

The Black Female Golfers Said They Felt Discriminated Against When Police Were Called Because the Chronister's Alleged They Were Playing 'Too Slow'.

On Saturday, the women, Sandra Thompson, Myneca Ojo, sisters Sandra Harrison and Carolyn Dow, and Karen Crosby, all in their 50's, set out to play a round of golf at Grandview Golf Club in York, Pennsylvania, where all five women were members.

Sandra Thompson, 50; Myneca Ojo, 56; sisters Sandra Harrison, 59, and Carolyn Dow, 56, and Karen Crosby, 58.

What appeared to start off as a leisurely and joyful day with friends turned into the women feeling discriminated against after Steve and Jorder Chronister allegedly told the players they were playing too slowly before calling authorities.

"I felt we were discriminated against," one of the women, Myneca Ojo, told the York Daily Record.

"It was a horrific experience.".

The women are part of a larger women's golf group called Sisters of the Fairway, according to the newspaper, adding that the "members are experienced players who have golfed all over the county.

At the second hole of the course, the women were told they were not keeping an appropriate pace by Steve Chronister, the father of the club's co-owner, Jordan Chronister, as reported by the Daily Record.

"I was approached by Steve Chronister, and he said, 'I'm one of the owners and you need to keep up the pace of play," Crosby told the news outlet.

"To me, that was a gross misrepresentation of who he was.".

"He was extremely hostile," Ojo added.

Thompson told the York Daily Record that she was on a different part of the hole when she observed the exchange between Steve Chronister, Ojo, and Crosby.

"So, obviously, while the guy's (Chronister) talking to them, there's a delay," Thompson said, according to the newspaper.

While at the same hole, Harrison said she spoke with a golf pro at the course who she said "acknowledged we were fine," after pointing out the group who was golfing ahead of them.

The newspaper added that the women were later told "they had taken too long of a break between first and second halves of the course," and were subsequently "asked to leave," and also "offered their membership money refunded.

A group of men surround the women, and a man, identified as Steve Chronister, can be heard telling his son to "Back off, this is what she wants.

This is what she does for a living.".

When they didn't leave, police were called to the course.

However, only Thompson and Ojo had stayed at this point, while the other women were apparently too traumatized and took off after they felt harassed.

Jordan Chronister Is a Co-Owner of the Golf Club With His Wife, Who Offered an Apology.

His Facebook page appears to have been deleted following the incident.

Following the incident, Jordan Chronister's wife and co-owner of the golf club, JJ Chronister, told the Daily Record that she personally apologized to the five black women.

"We sincerely apologize to the women for making them feel uncomfortable here at Grandview, that is not our intention in any way," JJ said, according to the publication.

"We want all of our members to feel valued and that they can come out here and have a great time, play golf and enjoy the experience.".

In an email to The York Dispatch, JJ stated: "While our intention was to ensure all teams on the course were moving through in a timely manner, the interaction between our members and our ownership progressed in a manner that was not reflective of our company's values or expectations for our own professionalism.

Grandview Golf Course issued a statement via their Facebook page on Sunday Morning.

It reads:.

Yesterday at Grandview Golf Club, several of our members had an experience that does not reflect our organization's values or our commitment to delivering a welcoming environment for everyone.

We are disappointed that this situation occurred and regret that our members were made to feel uncomfortable in any way.

We have reached out to the members who shared their concerns to meet in-person, to fully understand what happened so that we can ensure it never happens again.

Our team is very sorry for any interaction that may have made any member feel uncomfortable.

Please know that we are taking this issue very seriously and expect our own organization to meet the highest standards for service that allows for everyone to feel comfortable and welcome.

Steve Chronister Is a Former York County Commissioner.

Steve Chronister was identified as the man in the video who stated to his son, "Back off, this is what she wants.

This is what she does for a living," speaking of the black woman who raised concerns about the encounter.

The elder Chronister is a former York County Commissioner, as shown in records and on his Facebook page, which states that he is now a "Real Estate Agent at Howard Hanna Real Estate-York Office.

Many are venting and taking their outrage towards the incident to the social media page.

"Hey racist!," Johnny Rogers wrote in response to a post.

"You're really helping your son and his whole family out, keep up the shame!".

"Shame on you,,, and your son is real brave getting up in a woman's face," Jane Smith stated.

Police Said the Women Will Not Face Charges.

Northern York County Regional Police responded to the call, but subsequently left without charging any of the parties involved.

"We were called there for an issue, the issue did not warrant any charges," Northern York County Regional Police Chief Mark Bentzel said, according to Fox Carolina.

"All parties left and we left as well.".

This Is Just One Example of a Slew of Racial Issues in Recent Weeks.

On the afternoon of April 21, Ojo posted the following to her Facebook page:.

Today I was a victim of racial profiling and discrimination.

Just a few minutes after we took our Sisters in the Fairway outing picture, Sandra Thompson and I were kicked off the golf course and the police called.

The owner tried to kick us off earlier on the second hole, but Sandra intervened.

The harassment continued to the 10th hole, with a claim we broke rules.

We are golfers and we did not.

We are professional women in our 50s trying to enjoy ourselves and was victimized, sectionalized and harassed playing golf.

It got really scary the encounters and we are PAID members of this course, Grandview Golf Course in York, PA.

I had a couple questions from the fellas especially these young plumbers

apprentices wannabes that what tools do you need so I think I'm going to do a

little clip on startup kits for plumbers because I just happen to get four cb2

for Christmas which was a few months ago some hand tools which I was tired of him

using mine and when I went to use my tools I didn't have them so it

definitely helps I'm just gonna go check a job real quick but what I'm gonna do is

we're going to show you his tools this way you have an idea but the biggest

thing as you know plumbers everyday plumbers that the passion to work and

you gotta love this trade you can't be afraid to get dirty

can't be afraid to get up early so I had a couple guys actually reached out

like I was saying Christmas time I got CB2 some tools let me get mine out the

way here CB2 - I went to Home Depot picked up a little carrier which makes

things real easy okay and first thing out the gate which I

recommend highly is Douglas pliers a necessity. Four in One screwdriver the number

one tool you need folks is it heart to work a pencil a tape measure and a knife

if you show up with these so you're gonna be golden tape measure pencil rage

a knife there are gloves in case you're afraid of dirt which I hope you're not

nut drivers one of your number one tools you're going to need nut drivers

especially for toilet bolts I'm gonna show you this

they come in a hollow shafts so you want to be able to get by a bolt that will

slide all way down picture this a toilet bolt just set the

toilet I recommend Klien nut drivers Klein

tools because of the hollow shaft and here's why when you go to do a toilet

you can slide down the shaft some nut drivers come with a short hollow shaft

which this is doing you no good so Klein perfect though your safety goggles no

one gets hurt on my job torpedo level got to make sure it stops pitched little

poly cutter PVC poly supplies comes in handy Cheese saw

for cutting closet bolts nice little handle here the blades nice and tight floor

fine snips by Wiss or wiss I'm not quite sure how you pronounce it less

rights and straights green reds and yellows alright again if you don't have

the money please right now your boss will have them out I just got

cut sheet rock saw we love cutting holes in

walls hammer of course CB2's got these are Douglas imitation so they said they

were Douglas they seem like they're pretty close but they work little pair

of pliers for a hold back won't bump what you have two pair of pliers to hold

back with and again your boss is gonna have these I wouldn't even buy them

right now especially with the advanced tools with electric pipe cutters imp cutter

by rigid cuts up to a one-inch pipe copper number 15 RIdgid pipe cutter an

open end wrench set again not a necessity on day one like to have but

not an assessee I just happen to go to Home Depot and bought husky stuff for Chuckie.

that's why they're husky open end wrenches. right I'm still very shiny as you see

scraper for bowl waxes alright Allen wrenches

this one here for disposals un jams in this vertical alright that's your basic

tools magic markers your pencil I'll put everything away couple pair of pliers
