What is a life coach and why is it important? Today I'm going to share the

important role that life coaches have played in my life and why I think they are so valuable.

a life coach? In 2014 I had a significant promotion, it was in a new role and was

completely overwhelmed - I was in over my head and there were many days where I

was going home overwhelmed and in tears and frustrated, and I remember saying I

just need somebody to help me get my confidence back so that I can start to

perform at the level that I knew I was capable of. And in those days, life

coaching wasn't as common as it is today - and so I kept stumbling through and

eventually figured it out on my own. I wish I would have had the support of

somebody that could see the potential within me, that could remind me why I was

given that opportunity, and what I was capable of doing - and that is exactly

what my role is now as a life coach, is to support people in getting clear

about what their vision is, what their passions are, what their desires are, and

then to give them the accountability, the inspiration, the motivation to move

towards their goals and to cut down that learning time that it takes to really

create those results. We have understood coaching for years, if not centuries, when

it comes to athletics. If an athlete wants to perform at an elite level, they

know that they can't get there on their own - they need a mentor, support structures,

people to help them pull the greatness that exists within them - and it's the

same with our lives - we are not meant to do life on our own. So where's an area

that maybe you're struggling in, or maybe you're just ready to take to the next

level, and imagine what you could do with the

support of somebody who is lasered in on your goals, on your vision, and on your

so it's gonna fly through this because I'm bit of bit of an antenna geek I'm

gonna be bit closer and so I just reviewed this it's only half an hour

because I've looked at the the 2019 spec Foundation license just come well

wanting to keep 2019 2018 kind of together for cut so bear with me

so I'm on page 12 of the current sort of

foundation now booked in the UK anyway and there but I've compared it you see

to the 2019 proposed syllabus and it was just a few changes offer to make some

notes I just thought I'd have a little relaxing film here but act a wee bit

more difficult I've got the microphone down here so you can hear me otherwise

you'll be up there and I'm looking down all the time so feed is an antennas

right so there's right okay well one of you see that this is a piece of coax

with a plug on the end that's actually called a PL two five nine and looks like

that it's quite cool and then I've cut this open so you can you can see I've

bared bared the wire there look so that's there's braid and then the very

end you would get if you ever put a TV erial together it's similar thing so

this is a bit of cheatin ass trg-21 three okay for HF maybe up to CB but

beyond there I'd probably use something a little bit heavier double screen you

can see here that there's only a single screen there look I've just braid all

the double screen stuff that's got not only the braid but inside that again is

copper tape sometimes so it doesn't leak so March don't get more interference and

you just end up with a better quality coax normally so that's called coax or

feeder I my feeder goes here there and

everywhere and the feed point would be the back of the radio or the back of the

ATU the antenna tuning unit which we'll come

to in a minute where the PL 2 5 9 fits into now if you've got maybe a handy

little walkie talkie thing or some test equipment quite often you might use a

BNC connector that looks like one of these

that's a beat it's used to be BNC this happens to be a BNC adapter so I could

screw my PL 2:59 into my adapter here to put on my test equipment for instance

which I I keep a little meter on the on the shelf here and then I can do some

testing for want to get my Ariel straight into my test equipment I can do

that a lot of test equipment have BNC there's an upgraded version of this

called an n-type I just didn't hadn't have one to hand but we could look for

one on the internet couldn't we it's good for any type connector go to images

type I wanted n type not type n type connector images and you can see here

that it's got whereas a PL 2 v 9 it's got quite a big pin on it it's actually

like a banana plug really some people call it a screened banana Club an end

type you end up with a better piece of engineering okay and you end up with

it's much lower loss so very often it particularly UHF and above you'd be

using end types and then you know what your Wi-Fi antenna screws on with very

often that's called an SMA and there are other connector as well but read the

book relevant to your exam because you'll get this anyway and I'll tell you

more about feeders now there's another piece of feeder we use quite often well

I do anyway and that's I'm just looking down here it looks like this stuff this

is called sometimes called ladder line sometimes called

balance feeder some court sometimes called open wire feeder so there's

typically not very good that picture there but there we are you can see the

sort of scale it is in terms of a man's thumb so that that's called for 50-ohm

balance line balance line typically has slightly less loss than coax but it can

be more fiddly particularly if you're new to the Hobby and you just want to

try something out and just take a just take a piece of care act's up the only

thing I would say for a lot of the aerials particularly when you first

start that you'll want to use let's say a dipole which I'll come to in a minute

and the syllabus certainly recommends using something called a ballon which a

little box of tricks and any isolates and if you like wick converts that's all

you need to know because I've done a whole 15 minutes on balance of jokes

another day but it's a balance stands for balance - unbalanced so you coax is

unbalanced because it's kind of you know not the same right the braid is

different to the inside so that's unbalanced whereas the balanced line is

balanced okay so it's all you need to know unbalanced you can see it's

unbalanced all right the middle is different to the outside unbalanced so

we need a bare lung that's what I'm obliged to tell you so now some energy

that you squirt into here inevitably gets lost as heat and the higher up in

frequency you go the more loss and more heat we can't feel it we you could if

you put a huge amount in but it's unlikely you would ever feel it but that

loss is converted which means your antenna won't ever be 100% efficient

efficiency sometimes in in at this hobby each measure measured in SWR so your

radio it was generally designed or most modern radios generally designed for 50

ohm match in other words they're expecting to see at the other end

of this an aerial which is presenting something called a 50 ohm impedance

characteristic okay the coax is 50 ohm and the radios 50 ohm and if everything

is 50 ohms the Machine the transceiver we call it will show an SWR a standing

wave ratio of one to one and that's written like one it's written like that

one to one okay if we got let's say a hundred ohm impedance antenna and a coax

and our transceiver is 50 ohms then 100 divided by 50 is 2 so we end up with our

des WR of 2 to 1 all right kind of all you need to know

and I've even then I've over cooked is slightly my note says that antennas

convert electrical signals to RF to electromagnetic radiation okay so you

can't see it be really cool aha just remembered an April Fool's I wanted to

do is put an advert on eBay for some our special RF glasses so you could actually

see er we can't they don't exist unfortunately but it's converted to

electromagnetic radiation and after all you're used to electromagnetic radiation

your your mobile phone communicates to the local cell with electromagnetic

radiation your TV receives signals from the local broadcast towers the

electromagnetic radiation and while we're talking to TVs let me tell you

that most TV aerials look a bit like this don't they and then it gets shorter

and shorter and it's on a boom like that and the coax normally comes from this

one here to the back of the TV now that aerial can be vertically

polarized our it could be horizontally PO

so the RF will either come off this way or will come off that way or receive

this way or receive this way and polarization is important much more

important at VHF and uhf than it is on HF because on HF as signals propagate

through via the ionosphere we have done that I think it comes consumed and

twists and the polarization goes all over the place on VHF to get a great

sing and what we're after is the same polarization so most people and in the

UK don't if it's in the States as well but on the TV side for main broadcast

transmitters transmit horizontally and then the repeaters sometimes you get if

you need a little village at the bottom of the hill they will transmit

vertically so you go oh point it up there so it doesn't interfere in fact

there's a 20 DBS or a factor of 20 difference between there and there so if

I'm transmitting horizontally here and I'm receiving horizontally there I will

get sort of equilibrium and if I go this way I will lose up to 20 times the

signal because I'm only getting a tiny fraction of it and if you don't remember

if you've got two sets of Polaroid glasses you can twist them around one on

top of the other and you can see at a certain point in time where you almost

get a blackout because that is the polarization using it using your

sunglasses now I said simple allow me to check my notes types of antennas so let

me turn the page could we do it here now would over here save paper so there's

something called and it says in the book here the quarter wave ground plane call

their ground plane but if things to be you've got an aerial where the center

conductor connects to here and then you will have another part of the aerial

there and maybe another part of the aerial there which now the braid so this

bit here is connecting to and that's connecting to these you might have two

others that way and way if you don't I mean and then we got

the braid connecting to to here alright so that's called a quarter wave ground

plane antenna very often used for instance at VHF and uhf and it's it's

high up and it receives its pattern right which looks something like that

that could doughnut and if you could physically see the helmet I just want to

check that this is still recording so you can do you can see what I'm doing

yeah you can and it so if you could see the pattern using your special RF

Colossus which don't exist it would look a little bit like a doughnut so from the

top you would see a circle almost of the hole in the middle now is that done that

you see and the hole is where the aerial is coming straight up through the middle

of this and this like a donut you see so don't out of shape now there's a

nother aerial I'm just going to turn the page for this one it's called a 5/8 and

a 5/8 10:10 there is similar principle so very often you'll get these bottom

bits coming off then quite often you'll get a little coil and it goes up this is

part of the matching circuit here the coil here and elect electrically or

mechanically electrically or physically electrically it becomes 5 8 which is

0.625 is it what's 8 divided by 5 anyway just over 60% of the wavelength so if

we're looking at you know 2 meters that's gonna be just over it's about 1.2

I don't know about 1.2 means if it's too weak to 2 meter frequency however on a

quarter wave that wouldn't be one point to be much less it would be a quarter

wave for 2 meter band it's going to be well what's a quarter or 2 meters about

50 centimeters 15 centimeters but in fact if you watch the previous films

you'll notice that the frequency of let's say one hundred and forty five

megahertz all they do is we always used the word 300 divided by

the frequency so 300 divided by 1 4 5 I'll just use my calculator here 300

divided by 145 so the wavelength is two oh six eight two point oh six eight

meters so we divide that by four so in fact we're not fifty centimeters were

fifty one point seven okay so that's a quarter wave and that's a 5/8 so while

we're here 8 divided by five Oh what am i doing

5 divided by eight sixty two sixty two and a half percent no er two five eight

right there's another couple of aerial sweet Oh pop we remember the TV erial we

call that a yogi okay so and find a way the pattern four

of five eighths is slightly different if that's a quarter wave five eight comes

out a little bit sorry a little bit before he goes back up again so you get

slightly more radiation or RF slightly lower down so sometimes like CB aerials

you can buy you know a 11 meter five eights not a quarter wave because you

get probably two or three extra DB which is like double the power and we'll do DP

in a minute by the way - that's - to miss my notes I've gone all over the

place right so that that TV erial we spoke about well that is some what would

that look like so if we we drew these this this TV erial end on if you know

what I mean and the coax goes here the plot the RF rather than going everywhere

actually goes it actually looks normally a bit like this so the most of the gain

is over here so that's the shorter side here and the longer side of the Yogi's

here and this is a development from an aerial called the dipole and the dipole

looks like this exactly same as a quarter wave so if we go back

to our calculations 2.06 eight meters 5150 1.7 do you remember each one of

these 51 point seven centimeters 51 point seven centimeters so the braid

would go there and then the center of the coax we go to this one and then we

end up with our feeder off back to our transmitter and the dipole looks like

that and a horizontal dipole emits power similar to a doughnut but in this

direction so if we looked at it in Don's have we looked with our eye here and

looked at it the dot the RF would be coming off like a doughnut again

unfortunately because we are we've got the ground to interact with somewhere

very often it doesn't do that it might just do a bubble like this and if you're

high up off the ground that would change you start to get things looking like

this these are called fingers and if you go back through my other videos would

talk about these fingers because I model them using something called Mme na but

there's a wealth of material on my M by Channel

so we've done dipoles so all us that a yogi is is a longer one at the back

which is called a passive it doesn't do anything it's that with a net Python I'm

talking too fast and we got a shorter one at the front so the RF energy goes

that way that's called a director and this is called a reflector so if you

like we've got one dipole here and then on this side we put the reflector and on

this side we'll put a director the spacing is quite important but normally

people just buy them they kind of enjoy making things like that but there we are

and that's when the RF we convert a dipole into a yogi and push the signal

where he wanted to go you can't make any more RF there's only this amount of RF

if you know the mean you can't make any more can't double it the only way you

can double it is by tuning things like reducing the feeder lost by very very

expensive feeder or increasing the power down at the feed point using either an

amplifier turning on something what's next on this little journey we've got

here just do my notes done polarization gain antenna manufactures very often

talk about gain in decibels DB now there's a table in most of these books

and I'm actually I've gotten my list to do and talking all about game but I'll

do it briefly here and then the table basically says for if I've got DB here

and what the actual gain is gain that's x alright if somebody had claims a deep

a 3 DB gain over another area or what they're actually saying is it's double

and every three is double so to the nearest decimal point six is going to be

four and I'm just checking the table in is they're saying eight is gonna be

about oh nine they're saying is about eight times ten is definitely ten all

right and the only two I remember is that three DV is double and 10 DB is a

factor of ten you can calculate your something called effective radiated

power by caretaking the amount of power in watts and multiplying it by the gain

so if you've got a gain of 6 DB and you're transmitting 10 watts then your

effective radiated power is going to be 10 watts times 4 equals 40 what's

effective radiated power armors obliged to tell you that we've done a little bit

and antennas the dipole by the way dipoles don't have to be horizontal

dipoles can also be vertical as well so you put the coax to the center of the

coax there the braid to here and then take the coax off can be literally

vertical on occasion you might see a pole with a sticky-outy and then this

what looks like an aluminium thing here and sometimes I look at the size of the

pole and I try and work out what the wavelength is what frequency it happens

on just for a laugh there's one area which I don't personally like but wery

we told it in the in the syllabus it's called an end FET so we'd use something

like an 18 you I've got one here I've got a picture of this particular a to

you I mean this is fairly glamorous you don't have to say you don't need it

quite this big if you know the vein it's just a high-powered and it's an eighty

you and what these buttons two knobs do on the front is tuned so that the the

the transceiver that the radio what we call the rake in the trade sees a

perfect 50 oh match it then does some jiggery-pokery and matches the insides

of this to the feed in the aerial to put as much your RF up to the aerial as

possible now an end fed would have a ground which is that via the coax

remember that would go maybe to an earth steak or something and then this sensor

wouldn't have coax here but the Center on the back of you can see on the back

of here look balance down here we are balanced down so these two here would

use this balance line this stuff and connect to here one would go to the

ground and one would go to your end fed well that would work I just don't like

it I find it noisy I don't idea what it

sounds like but you know hey some people use n fence that's fine

the five the inferred polarization I think we

covered a little bit we've done matching antennas in fact we've done that a

little bit earlier if you remember 300 divided by the frequency in a quarter of

it so just to remind you in case you missed that bit we've got a frequency of

28.5 megahertz we do 300 divided by 28 and 1/2 which is not far from 10

calculator please escape 300 divided by 28.5

is 10.5 and clearly we get a quarter wave of that is it's not far off 10

meters it's 2.5 there's mental arithmetic in fact it's a little bit

more than that it 2.6 has got this 5 so 2.6 meters per leg so you could have a

dipole each of these 2.5 meters long give or take there's something called

velocity factor involved so it might be a little bit less I found about two

point four six two point four seven will give you a match about twenty eight

point four but anyway that's that's it so that's matching the antenna to give

you that fifty ohm match because what happens is you end up with a hmm you end

up with the signal coming off effectively because from there to there

is half a wavelength and the signal just likes that I say to people it's bit like

a piano the lower notes the longer heavier ones blow the lower notes then

let it once played the shorter ones so the smaller is the high up in frequency

you go the longer they are the lower in frequency you go there we are

SWR I mentioned by the way you can buy a meter to do that you just plug the meter

and they'll give you us wor meters calculations on HF which is kind of

around about the shortwave bands you'll find that most modern radios will have

an inbuilt SWR meter and so one point five two one one point 61 I'll

put two two one whatever by the way he dug it to fooled

because her very very long length of coax will kind of soak up your SWR and

give you a fake reading but you know if it's under two to one you should be okay

and in a modern radio they give you a little button as well to engage

something called an a tu and the antenna tuning in it but there we are

so try not to use unpriced and tell you if you see your aerial is now all of a

sudden it was great yesterday and today it's now a bit crappy there's something

gone wrong and try not to use your radio if you're above two to one SWR because

there's a chance that you can damage your transmitter I'm obliged to tell you

that as well so we've done dummy loads I haven't needed to tell you so a dummy

load is effectively isn't actually me a dummy load is a little box of tricks

that connects to the back of your radio if I I have one in line here a dummy

load switches all my my radios on off so I just keep my one of them a wot it's

connected over there I can't show it to you and it's a screened aerial in effect

and you can put so much power into it for so long and if I forgot I was

dribbling about a hundred watts into this Sun this dummy load for about ten

minutes I started as smelly Nick I nearly lost it he nearly blew up but it

didn't quite so we dumped a me loads on standing mate we standing waves feet

point impedance eius WR and ten of dimensions there we are so in the main

so in the main I think we have kind of covered feeders and aerials aerials is a

huge subject and as a foundation license holder where you can't pay you're not

allowed to you know supposed to play with your electronics you can play

electronics to your heart's content you're not allowed to build a

transmitter okay you build a receiver by all means but as a foundation Triton

holder in the UK you have to buy the transmitter

a bit because the whole idea of the foundations Isis get people on air but

without causing interference at the end of the day this is all about making sure

you don't cause interference and in fact those standing way low SWR anything that

I've shown you today and this whole series is all about minimizing the

impact of interference world governments other amateur radio operators the

military across the world you've got to remember it's a shared resource we have

so we have to be responsible one of the ways we can be responsible is making

sure we just do everything right and we run at the things with a low SWR as soon

as we start winding the power up and things aren't balanced and we don't know

what we're doing there's a chance we called a harmonic so if I'm transmitting

on 7.1 I could end up accidentally transmitting on 14.2 as well and one of

the reasons all the amateur bands are harmonic related harmonically related is

so that if we are transmitting harmonics we transmit in our bands not outer band

but it's still possible to transmit out as a band basically be responsible and

do the right thing and if you take your exam read your book and follow your

instructor you should you should be absolutely fine

next time finally we get around to propagation I thought that was next one

and then what's our license conditions and frankly if you can get your license

conditions right and the health and safety they're things that's

common-sense stuff the rest of it like propagation and what I've just shown you

now there'll only be three or four questions on this you know what does a

ballon mean you know we've got oh and it'll be a tick box go Callum said that

course it is you know and there would be a picture like that what is that you

know this one here what is that and your is and it'll have a tick box

SMA BNC PL two five nine or AM you know whatever n type so you know the

difference was out in the end type and type looks really highly engineered with

a little pin in the middle name the pin shielded so so there we are so I'll see

You Won't Believe Who Just Shut Down Robert Mueller

Since the start of his Russia investigation, Robert Mueller hasn't accomplished much.

The biggest piece of evidence uncovered was an uneventful meeting between Donald Trump

Jr. and a Russian lawyer.

And now not even that meeting matters after a surprising person shut down Mueller's

claim.

In response to that meeting, Donald Trump Jr. has denied the fact that anything important

came of it, and stated that it was a boring meeting.

Despite this, Democrats pushing claims of Russia collusion with the Trump campaign constantly

point towards that meeting as proof.

But now it seems that everyone who attended the meeting has officially discredited it.

The Russian lawyer at the center of the claim has stated she has not been contacted by Special

Counsel Robert Mueller.

Natalia Veselnitskaya has come out stating that she's surprised she hasn't heard

from him.

With the meeting being the biggest piece of "proof" that collusion between the Trump

campaign and Russia occurred, it is very surprising.

If he is actually trying to get to the bottom of the claim, meeting with the people being

accused should be the most important step.

But with as politically motivated as the investigation has been, it isn't very surprising.

It isn't a good move to meet with someone and risk losing the last bit of credence they

have in the media.

If she was to confirm the claims of Donald Trump Jr. their investigation would be basically

over, unless they pull together another piece of evidence.

As reported by Politico:

REPLIED TO THE INTERMEDIARY VIA EMAIL THAT "IF IT'S WHAT YOU SAY I LOVE IT ESPECIALLY

LATER IN THE SUMMER."

THE RUSSIAN ATTORNEY SAID MUELLER'S TEAM, WHICH IS INVESTIGATING RUSSIAN EFFORTS TO

INTERFERE IN THE 2016 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION AND ALLEGATIONS THAT INDIVIDUALS TIED TO TRUMP

COLLUDED IN THOSE EFFORTS, HAS NOT CONTACTED HER.

IF IT DOES NOT, SHE SAID, IT WOULD BE AN INDICATION THAT THE SPECIAL COUNSEL'S OFFICE "IS

NOT WORKING TO DISCOVER THE TRUTH."

TRUMP JR., WHO ADDRESSED THE MEETING ONLY AFTER ITS EXISTENCE BECAME PUBLIC, HAS DOWNPLAYED

IT AS A MINOR MEETING THAT BORE NO FRUIT.

HE AND THE TRUMP ADMINISTRATION HAVE INSISTED THAT THERE WAS NO COLLUSION BETWEEN THE TRUMP

CAMPAIGN AND THE KREMLIN."

As each day goes by, an end to the Russia investigation comes closer and closer.

With virtually no new movement, it is looking like Mueller may be forced to end it on his

own.

WE'RE GONNA LOOK AT SEVERAL PLACES WHERE HE WAS INTERRUPTED.

IT'S PRETTY AMAZING HOW MANY TIMES JESUS GOT INTERRUPTED

IN ONE DAY.

MATTHEW 8:1 THROUGH 3, "WHEN JESUS CAME DOWN FROM

THE MOUNTAIN, GREAT THRONGS FOLLOWED HIM.

AND BEHOLD, A LEPER CAME TO HIM AND, PROSTRATING HIMSELF,

WORSHIPED HIM, AND SAYING, LORD, IF YOU'RE WILLING,

YOU'RE ABLE TO CLEANSE ME.

AND HE REACHED OUT HIS HAND AND TOUCHED HIM, AND SAID,

I AM WILLING; BE THOUGH CLEAN."

INTERRUPTION NUMBER ONE.

VERSE 5, "AS JESUS WENT INTO CAPERNAUM, A CENTURION CAME UP

THIS IS ONE OF THE SCRIPTURES THAT I LEAN ON AND I HAVE A

PRAYER BEFORE GOD THAT I'VE HAD BEFORE HIM FOR YEARS THAT WHEN I

PREACH THE GOSPEL, PEOPLE WILL BE HEALED PHYSICALLY.

I BELIEVE THERE'S AN ANOINTING IN THE WORD OF GOD THAT BRINGS

HEALING TO OUR LIVES.

JESUS DIDN'T EVEN HAVE TO GO AND LAY HANDS ON HIM.

THE GUY SAID, "SPEAK THE WORD ONLY AND MY SERVANT BOY

I GUESS AFTER A DAY LIKE THAT, I'D WANT A NAP TOO,

HOW ABOUT YOU?

"AND THE DISCIPLES WENT AND WOKE HIM UP, SAYING, LORD, RESCUE US!

WHO WOULD NOT WANT TO DO WHAT I'M DOING?

BUT LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING, IT TOOK A LONG TIME TO GET HERE.

AND THERE WAS A LOT OF PAIN AND A LOT OF TEARS AND A LOT OF

REJECTION AND A LOT OF PEOPLE WHO CAME AGAINST ME.

I'M NOT PREACHING ON THAT TONIGHT SO I WON'T BEGIN TO TELL

YA, BUT I'LL TELL YA THERE IS SUFFERING BEFORE THERE'S GLORY.

YOU SAY, "WELL, I THOUGHT JESUS BORE ALL MY SUFFERING."

YES, HE DID BEAR A LOT OF OUR SUFFERING, BUT THERE'S CERTAIN

THINGS THAT WE STILL HAVE TO GO THROUGH AND THEY HELP US,

THEY MATURE US.

SO LET ME JUST GIVE YOU SOME EXAMPLES OF SOME SUFFERING THAT

YOU MIGHT EXPERIENCE SO NOBODY TAKES IT OUT OF CONTEXT.

FORGIVING SOMEONE IS A PAINFUL THING TO DO.

WHEN SOMEBODY HAS HURT YOU REALLY, REALLY, REALLY BAD, TO

BE GOOD TO THEM AFTER THEY'VE HURT YOU, TO EVEN TALK TO THEM

AFTER THEY'VE HURT YOU, TO EVEN BE IN THEIR AIRSPACE AFTER THEY

HAVE HURT YOU IS PAINFUL.

HOW MANY OF YOU AGREE WITH THAT?

ALL RIGHT, BEING PATIENT WITH AN ANNOYING PERSON MAKES ME SUFFER.

GO READ YOUR BIBLE.

THE MAIN REASON WHY WE DON'T REALLY WALK IN THIS LOVE THAT WE

LIKE TO TALK ABOUT AND PREACH ABOUT IS BECAUSE IT ALWAYS COSTS

US SOMETHING.

IT'S ALWAYS AN EFFORT.

THERE'S SOME ENERGY, SOME MONEY, SOME TIME, A LITTLE BIT OF

SUFFERING, A LITTLE BIT OF SELF-WILL THAT HAS TO GO BY

IT'S SO BAD THAT IT'S GONNA TAKE A LOT OF MONEY TO FIX IT

AND YOU KIND OF FEEL LIKE GOD IS KIND OF RUMBLING AROUND IN THERE

SAYING, "WHY DON'T YOU OFFER TO PICK THEM UP AND TAKE THEM HOME

FROM WORK EVERY DAY TILL THIS GET THIS SITUATION FIXED?"

RELIGIOUS PEOPLE.

"RELIGIOUS PEOPLE TELL OTHER PEOPLE WHAT TO DO BUT THEY DON'T

DO IT THEMSELVES.

THEY PLACE HEAVY BURDENS ON OTHER PEOPLE AND WON'T LIFT

A FINGER TO HELP THEM.

THEY DO ALL THEIR WORKS TO BE SEEN AND ADMIRED AND THEY DON'T

DO THEM OUT OF LOVE.

THEY LOVE PLACES OF HONOR, THE BEST SEATS IN CHURCH, TITLES

AND POSITIONS."

VERSE 11 HOWEVER IN MATTHEW 23 SAYS, "HE WHO IS GREATEST AMONG

YOU MUST BE YOUR SERVANT."

JESUS GOES ON IN MATTHEW 23 TO SAY, "THEY ARE PRETENDERS, THEY

MISTREAT WIDOWS AND PRAY LONG PRAYERS WHILE THEY'RE DOING IT."

THEIR TERRIBLE EXAMPLE LEADS OTHERS INTO THE SAME BEHAVIOR.

THEY TITHE ON EVERY TINY LITTLE THING THAT THEY HAVE."

HE SAYS, "EVERY LEAF AND MINT.

BUT THEY NEGLECT TO DO RIGHT.

THEY NEGLECT MERCY AND THEY NEGLECT JUSTICE.

THEY LOOK GOOD ON THE OUTSIDE," JESUS SAID, "BUT ON THE INSIDE,

THEY'LL FILLED WITH GRASPING SELF-INDULGENCE."

I WOULD HAVE MADE A CHIEF PHARISEE BACK IN MY

RELIGIOUS DAYS.

OH, MY GOSH, I WAS SO STINKIN' RELIGIOUS AND I HAD AN ATTITUDE

ABOUT EVERYBODY.

I WOULD GO TO CHURCH ON SUNDAY AND THEN ME AND MY OTHER

CHRISTIAN FRIENDS WOULD GO AND HAVE BREAKFAST AND SIT THERE

AND GOSSIP ABOUT THE PASTOR.

OOH, I SUPPOSE YOU'VE NEVER DONE THAT.

AND WE WOULD GO TO THE POST OFFICE, PICK UP OUR FIVE OR SIX

PIECES OF MAIL, HOWEVER MUCH WE HAD BACK THEN, YOU KNOW, WANTING

TO GET SOME KIND OF ENCOURAGEMENT THAT, YOU KNOW,

WHAT WE WERE DOING MADE ANY SENSE AT ALL.

AND SO THERE WAS A CROWD GOING INTO MCDONALD'S.

HE SAID, "YOU RUN ON IN THERE AND GET US A SEAT."

SO I STARTED IN AND I SAW ONE BOOTH OVER HERE

AND OUT OF THE CORNER OF MY EYE, I SAW ANOTHER GUY

HEADED FOR THAT SAME BOOTH.

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: AND SO I HAD A SPLIT SECOND,

I MEAN JUST A SPLIT SECOND TO FOLLOW THE HOLY SPIRIT WHO WAS

TELLING ME, "LET HIM HAVE IT.

LOVE PREFERS OTHERS."

BUT I WANTED IT.

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: AND SAD TO SAY, I WAS PREACHING ON LOVE

BUT NOT WALKING IN IT YET SO I PUT IT IN HIGH GEAR.

GOT THE BOOTH, SAT DOWN AND THE GUY CAME OVER TO THE LADY THAT

WAS SITTING AT THIS VERY BOOTH RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME AND HE KNEW

HER AND HE SAID TO HER, "THERE'S NO PLACES LEFT TO SIT,

CAN I SIT WITH YOU?" AND SHE SAID, "YEAH, SHE BEAT

YA, DIDN'T SHE?"

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: OH, MY GOSH.

OKAY, NOW HERE'S THE REALLY BAD PART.

AND SOME OF YOU SEEN ME TELL THIS ON TV, BUT THE REALLY BAD

PART WAS THE MAN WAS CRIPPLED.

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: HE WAS WALKING WITH A CANE.

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: SO I WAS PREACHING MY 8-PART SERIES ON LOVE, RACING

A CRIPPLED MAN IN MCDONALD'S.

OKAY NOW COME ON, NOW DO YOU KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT?

JOYCE: I CAN'T GET YOU GUYS TO LISTEN TO ANYTHING IF I DON'T

TELL STORIES ON MYSELF.

JOYCE: NOW THE BIBLE SAYS THAT LOVE PREFERS OTHER PEOPLE.

I WASN'T PREFERRING HIM.

I WAS RACING THE POOR CRIPPLED GUY.

JOYCE: AND THE THING THAT WAS AMAZING WAS THE WOMAN KNEW IT.

JOYCE: SHE SAW ME DOING IT.

OH, MY GOSH.

LET ME TELL YA, I'VE DONE SOME STUFF THAT I'M NOT REAL

PROUD OF.

AND IT'S--A LOT OF IT'S JUST LITTLE STUFF LIKE THAT.

BUT SEE HERE'S THE THING THAT IS SO IMPORTANT TO ME, YES, I WANT

YOU TO GO TO CHURCH AND I WANT YOU TO BEHAVE IN CHURCH.

BUT MORE THAN ANYTHING, I WANT PEOPLE TO GET OUT IN THE WORLD

AND SHOW THE WORLD JESUS BY BEING KIND AND BEING PATIENT AND

BEING LOVING AND DOING THINGS FOR PEOPLE AND ESPECIALLY DOING

THINGS FOR PEOPLE THAT DON'T DESERVE IT AND WON'T

UNDERSTAND IT.

THEY JUST WON'T GET IT AND IF YOU KEEP IT UP LONG ENOUGH,

THEY'LL BEGIN TO BELIEVE THAT MAYBE YOU DO HAVE SOMETHING

AFTER ALL THAT'S REAL AND GENUINE AND THAT THEY NEED.

THAT'S THE PRICE WE PAY.

THAT'S THE PRICE WE PAY.

[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]

JOYCE: THAT'S WHY WHEN THE MOTHER OF ZEBEDEE'S SON SAID, "I

WANT MY TWO SONS TO SIT ONE ON YOUR RIGHT HAND AND ONE ON YOUR

LEFT WHEN YOU COME INTO YOUR KINGDOM," HE SAID, "YOU DON'T

KNOW WHAT YOU'RE ASKING.

ARE YOU WILLING TO DRINK THE CUP THAT I DRINK?

ARE YOU WILLING TO BE BAPTIZED WITH THE BAPTISM

WITH WHICH I'M BAPTIZED?" I BELIEVE THAT GOD WANTS TO

BAPTIZE PEOPLE IN LOVE.

I THINK THAT HE WANTS US TO BE WALKING, TALKING, BREATHING LOVE

AND THAT HAS NOTHING DO WITH BEING SELFISH AND SELF-CENTERED.

AMEN?

NOW, EXAMPLES OF POSITIVE RECORDKEEPING.

DAVE IS ALWAYS WILLING TO QUICKLY FORGIVE ME WHEN I HAVE

DONE SOMETHING WRONG TOWARD HIM.

DAVE IS VERY PATIENT WHEN I'M LATE.

DAVE PICKS UP AFTER HIMSELF, DOES THE DISHES AT NIGHT,

TELLS ME TO REST.

HE TELLS ME EVERY DAY THAT HE LOVES ME.

HE HUGS ME AND COMPLIMENTS ME ON MY CLOTHES OR THE WAY THAT

I LOOK.

I NEVER PREACH A MESSAGE THAT HE DOESN'T TELL ME,

"THAT WAS A GREAT MESSAGE."

HE IS VERY STABLE EMOTIONALLY, HE IS NEVER, ALMOST NEVER

GROUCHY, TAKES GOOD CARE OF HIMSELF PHYSICALLY.

DAVE STILL LOOKS JUST LIKE HE DID WHEN WE GOT MARRIED EXCEPT

BACK THEN HE WORKED OUT EVEN HARDER AND HAD A LOT MORE

MUSCLE, BUT HE'S--

JOYCE: HE'S VERY PROTECTIVE OF ME.

I ALWAYS FEEL SAFE WHEN I'M WITH DAVE.

HE'LL BUY ME ANYTHING I WANT THAT WE CAN AFFORD.

IN EVERY SITUATION IN LIFE, THERE'S GOOD THINGS THAT PEOPLE

DO AND THERE'S THINGS THAT YOU DON'T LIKE.

AND ONE OF THE WAYS THAT WE CAN DISPLAY LOVE IS BY KEEPING

A RECORD OF THE GOOD THINGS AND NOT KEEPING A RECORD OF

THE BAD THINGS.

LOVE TAKES NO ACCOUNT OF THE EVIL DONE TO IT.

YOU KNOW, WE NEED TO VALUE OTHER PEOPLE.

WE NEED TO BE COMMITTED.

LOVE IS COMMITTED FOR THE LONG HAUL.

IT'S NOT JUST IN IT FOR A FEW SHORT MINUTES.

AND THEN LASTLY I WANT TO SAY THIS TONIGHT BECAUSE I THINK IT

IS AN IMPORTANT PART OF LOVE AND SOME YOU WILL BE VERY HAPPY

THAT I'M SAYING THIS.

THERE'S ALSO A TOUGH SIDE TO LOVE.

THERE'S ALSO A TIME WHEN WE HAVE TO CONFRONT PEOPLE.

THERE'S ALSO A TIME WHEN WE HAVE TO TELL THEM, "I DON'T

APPRECIATE THE WAY YOU'RE TREATING ME AND I'M NOT GONNA

PUT UP WITH IT."

THERE'S TIME WHEN WE SAY TO PEOPLE, "NO, I'M NOT GONNA DO

THAT FOR YOU ANYMORE BECAUSE I'M JUST ENABLING YOU TO KEEP YOUR

PROBLEM."

JOYCE: THERE'S ALWAYS ANOTHER SIDE TO IT.

AND I LOVE WHAT THE APOSTLE PAUL SAID IN 2 CORINTHIANS 7:8-10

IF WE CAN JUST CLOSE WITH THESE.

HE ACTUALLY WROTE THE CHURCH THERE A LETTER THAT WAS QUITE

PAINFUL TO THEM.

2 CORINTHIANS 7:8-10, "FOR EVEN THOUGH I DID GRIEVE

YOU WITH MY LETTER, I DON'T REGRET [IT NOW], THOUGH I DID

REGRET IT; FOR I SEE THAT THAT LETTER DID PAIN YOU, THOUGH ONLY

FOR A LITTLE WHILE; YES I'M GLAD NOW, NOT BECAUSE YOU WERE

PAINED, BUT BECAUSE YOU WERE PAINED INTO REPENTANCE [AND SO

YOU WERE TURNED BACK TO GOD]; FOR YOU FELT A GRIEF SUCH AS GOD

MEANT YOU TO FEEL, SO THAT IN NOTHING YOU MIGHT SUFFER LOSS

THROUGH US OR HARM FOR WHAT WE DID."

VERSE 10, "FOR GODLY GRIEF AND THE PAIN THAT GOD IS PERMITTED

TO DIRECT, PRODUCE A REPENTANCE THAT LEADS AND CONTRIBUTES TO

SALVATION AND DELIVERANCE FROM EVIL, AND IT NEVER BRINGS

REGRET."

I THINK THAT'S SO IMPORTANT TO REALIZE THAT SOMETIMES THE BEST

THING YOU CAN SAY TO SOMEBODY IS, "NO, I WON'T DO THAT FOR YOU

BECAUSE THAT'S YOUR RESPONSIBILITY AND YOU NEED TO

BE TAKING THAT RESPONSIBILITY AND DOING IT.

NO, I WON'T CONTINUE TO ENABLE YOU TO HAVE THE PROBLEM

THAT YOU HAVE."

AND EVEN IN NOT LETTING PEOPLE MISTREAT YOU, SOMETIMES YOU NEED

TO JUST SAY, "I'M NOT GONNA JUST KEEP ENABLING YOU TO TREAT ME

THAT WAY."

SO YOU ALWAYS HAVE TO BE LED BY THE SPIRIT IN THESE THINGS.

THERE'S A TIME TO JUST PUT UP WITH IT AND PUT UP WITH IT

AND PUT UP WITH IT.

BUT WHEN IT COMES TO ABUSE OR WHAT SOMEBODY IS DOING TO YOU,

THEY'RE ACTUALLY HURTING THEMSELVES BY YOU CONTINUING TO

LET THEM DO IT, THEN FOR THEIR SAKE, THAT'S WHEN YOU NEED TO

PUT YOUR FOOT DOWN AND SAY, "NO MORE."

AMEN?

ALL RIGHT, COME ON, GIVE GOD A BIG PRAISE.
