Kitchen Aid is an extremely well-known brand internationally when it comes to stand-mixers

and other kitchen appliances.

Almost a century old name, it is used and preferred by most pastry chefs and bakers

across the world.

In this video let us see how to use a KitchenAid stand mixer.

You can also read a detailed post on this on my blog, link in the description box below

the video.

Broadly speaking, KitchenAid stand mixers come in Tilt-head and Bowl-lift models.

Made in the USA, these are made entirely of die cast metal, so extremely sturdy and durable.

You can choose these from a wide range of more than15 colors.

The stand mixers come with a 5 year warranty on domestic use and 1 year warranty on commercial

use.

This is the Artisan 5 Quart tilt head model, 300 watts power, comes with a 4.8 L bowl.

The Artisan Mini model comes with a 3.3 L bowl WITH 250 WATTS POWER.

The 500 watt bowl lift heavy duty model is more powerful, comes with a bigger 6.9 L mixing

bowl.

There is a professional bowl lift model as well.

There is also a 4.8 L bowl lift model .

There is also a 4.8 L bowl lift model which comes with 2 mixing bowls.

Please do read the manual for more technical specifications.

The stainless steel bowl has a handle, which makes it easy to shift and move it around.

You could also go in for a glass mixing bowl which is available in 3 different glass textures.

In the tilt head models, as the name suggests, you can tilt the motor head back and forth.

This makes fixing the attachments easier and gives better access to the mixing bowl.

The Artisan 5 Quart stand mixer comes with 5 accessories.

A paddle or flat beater, dough hook, these are both nylon coated, a stainless steel wire

whip with 6 wires, the pouring shield and stainless steel mixing bowl.

More on these later in the video.

The wire whip of the professional model has 11 wires, the hook and paddle are all steel.

You can also check the paddle which comes with a flexible silicone scraper as an additional

accessory.

The dough hook, paddle and whip rotate in the mixing bowl with a 59 point planetary

mixing action, helping ingredients mix thoroughly.

This is the pouring shield, you can fit on the bowl, pour in ingredients and mix without

any mess.

This again is an additional accessory for some models.

This is the lever which helps you tilt and lock

or release the motor head.

Here is the speed control lever with speed levels going from 1 to 10.

This is the attachment hub to fit more than 10 optional attachments such as the pasta

maker, ice cream maker, spiralizer and more.

So apart from baking, you can use the stand mixer for a whole lot of everyday cooking

too.

Please check the KA website for more details on these.

Ideally, the dough hook, paddle and whip should not hit the bottom or sides of the bowl when

you run the mixer or they will wear out.

It should not be too far away from the bowl either.

This is called as beater to bowl clearance.

This screw here is for adjusting the height of the beater if necessary.

If we have to fit one of these attachments, We first need to slide the locking lever to

the unlock position, hold it in the UNLOCK position and tilt the motor head.

Makes it easy to fit the attachment.

When you tilt the head, the lever goes to the lock position automatically, so the head

stays tilted.

Similarly, to lower the motor head, again unlock and gently lower it.

The locking lever will automatically go into locked position.

Please remember, the mixer needs to be in locked position when you use it.

We will tilt the head back.

Now we can slip the attachment on the beater shaft, push it up and turn it right to hook

it over this pin here, much like you would fix a light bulb.

To unlock, press the attachment upward and turn left.

Then pull it away.

Now the bowl.

Place it on the plate here, gently turn it clockwise to lock it into position.

Turn counter clockwise to unlock.

Now the stand mixer is ready to use.

It is recommended to start the mixer on low speed and then gradually move to higher speed

levels.

Usually, low speed is used for stirring and mixing, folding in ingredients.

Medium speed for kneading and creaming, high speed for whipping eggs, cream etc.

But please follow recipe instructions always.

Read my post for more details.

Always stop the mixer if you have to scrape the batter down at any point of time.

About the accessories the dough hook is basically used for kneading dough, for bread, pizza

and of course dough for making roti, naan, samosa patti etc.

There may be exceptions though.

So follow recipe instructions always.

The temperature of yeast dough rises as it is mixed, so if you bake a lot with sticky

dough such as focaccia, you may want to check the ice water jacket attachment useful, it

helps to keep the dough at the optimal temperature.

The paddle attachment is normally used to make cake batter and cookie dough.

You can also make really good flaky pastry.

Stay tuned for these recipes coming up soon!

Sometimes, the paddle attachment is also used for mixing bread dough with a high proportion

of liquid.

Also, if mixing small amounts of dough in the stand mixer, the paddle attachment works

better as it reaches closer to the bottom of the bowl.

Experiment and stick to whatever works best for you.

The whisk is used when you want to incorporate air, when you whip eggs, egg whites and cream.

I have used a hand mixer for a very long time and I can tell you that the volume to which

the eggs can be whipped in the stand mixer is something you can't really achieve with

a hand mixer.

That volume helps make your cakes and bakes lighter.

So making larger batches of meringue, macarons, buttercream, and genoise is a whole lot less

effort, the end product better when you use a stand mixer.

The motor head will feel warm or even hot when you use it for heavy loads or prolong

the mixing time.

This is normal, not to worry.

The machine is very sturdy, easy to use and maintain.

It is a real workhorse.

The stand mixer makes the baking process so much easier as the machine takes care of the

hard work.

As you go, you will find it a joy because you can move on to getting your other ingredients

ready, the stand mixer leaves you totally hands-free.

But when you mix stiff dough, the stand mixer may walk on the counter, so do not walk away

from the machine.

But of course there will be the learning curve and you will need to figure out what works

best for you for various recipes.

I will keep updating about the Stand mixer on my blog.

You can call the KA helpline for any queries and help.

Please do share this video if you found it helpful.

Please do subscribe to stay tuned for recipes using the KA stand mixer and lots more.

Improve your Vocabulary: Learn 16 new social, political, and internet words - Duration: 21:04.

Hi, everyone. In this lesson we're going to look at new words for our times. These words

reflect social movements or new things happening in politics. We're going to start with "millennial".

"A millennial" is a person who's between the age of a teenager now and their late 20s.

Thankfully I just escaped being a millennial, because millennials are whiny and they are...

They're just so weak, and they're like little special snowflakes, very delicate. And millennials

are just... They've been so protected all their lives that when it comes to it in the

real world they are... They like whine and they shout, and they cry, but they don't do

a lot. No offence to any millennials watching. [Laughs].

Next word is related to the millennials. The millennials need "safe spaces", because this

world out there is... It's so... It's so mean and people say such horrible things that they

need to be protected inside their safe spaces. And so, the idea of a safe space would be

somewhere on a college campus where you know you can go and be safe, and you don't have

to be scared or upset by any of the mean things that old white men and politicians say. Anything

that offends you in the safe space, it's all very relaxed there. You can... Maybe you'll

manage to, you know, do a bit of studying in that safe space, nobody can get to you.

The next word is also related to the millennials in the safe space, they go here because there

nothing bad will ever happen to them, but when they go out into the big wide world:

"Oh no! Oh no!" They need "trigger warnings". "Trigger warnings" is... You give a trigger

warning when something you're going to say could upset someone, it could be offensive

to them, and it could create a trauma or a kind of flashback to them, and because they

are so weak they can't hear this thing and they need a trigger warning to keep them safe.

When someone is triggered, then they're triggered by something they don't want to hear, and

sometimes they might scream, like: "No! No! I can't take it! No!" That's when they're

triggered. So, because they have such big emotional responses to things they don't like,

that's why they need the safe spaces. And I think actually, come to think about it,

maybe the safe spaces are a good idea because they could just go in the safe space, and

we wouldn't be in there, so they could do all that alone in the safe space.

The next word is "social justice warrior", "SJW", also to do with the millennials. One

of the things associated with them is that they protest a lot, they're vocal, they like

to take a stand against the things they don't like, which they typically do online, they

talk about things online or perhaps they go on protesting and things like that. "A social

justice warrior" is someone whose main reason to protest is things to do with race issues

or gender issues, and they... Or they think that... Or feminist issues. They think that...

For whatever group they belong to, they think that life isn't fair for them, so that's the

reason they protest. They're warriors, they're fighters, they're warriors.

Next we've got "gender non-binary". A person who calls themselves gender... Say: "Oh, I'm

gender non-binary", what that means is: "I'm not a man. I'm not a woman. I'm something

in between those genders that hasn't... It can't be... Can't be specified as this or

that. It's my own identity which is gender non-binary." Not the traditional man, not

the traditional woman, but something in between.

Next word is a word that's used as an insult or a term of offence to people, is "libtard".

The "tard" part reminds us of the word "retard" which means disabled person, and the "lib"

part comes from "liberal". When you put it together: "libtard" means somebody who's so

liberal in their politics or their ideas or their vision and their view of the world,

they've actually become retarded and disabled because of it; used as an insult.

The next two terms we have to look at together. We've got "globalism" versus "populism". "Populism"

in politics is movements like Brexit in the UK, and the election of Donald Trump in the

USA. Two movements which were similar in the sense that in those countries the national

media didn't support or expect those two things to happen. So in the UK, for example, a lot

of the news coverage in the run-up to Brexit was all to get people to vote to stay in the

European Union. And many, many people were surprised when the people in the UK voted

in their referendum to leave the EU. So that's become thought of as a populist movement,

a movement of the people against their government. You know, they perceived that their government's

not working for them or their group of people, and it's a change in the old way of politics,

and it's more... It's more about them and their country and their small part of the

world than it is about globalism. "Globalism" comes from the world, having a bigger vision

of all the... All countries working in cooperation, for example, like the EU having a big super

state, and looking out towards other countries, more of them is coming back down. And it's

also an evolved term, I would say, from the word "nationalism" which is about putting

your nation first, but "nationalism" has connotations for many people to be... Bring up the Second

World War again. So the new term is "populism", and I think what's different about "populism"

as well is there are so many ways for average people to get involved in politics now which

happens a lot online, starting Facebook groups, making YouTube videos, all things now where

people can be their own media, which you couldn't do before. So this brings us back, in a way,

to the millennials, and using the internet and using new ways to communicate our message

and the politics we believe in.

Next we've got the idea of "fake news". "Fake news" can be completely made-up stories on

the internet, which the whole purpose of making up the story is to get people to click on

it. When they go to that fake story, whoever created the fake story makes money from all

the people going to look. So that's what fake news means in the truest sense. The way it's

also becoming used in my understanding and how I'm seeing it evolve as a term is that

the mainstream media, traditional newspapers, traditional journalists will say that the

alternative media, that it's not supported by a big newspaper behind, but it's, you know,

someone making content in their bedroom or whatever, the smaller... The smaller kind

of people giving out opinions. The mainstream media will say some of their stories are fake

news, they're not true. And they'll say: "People are believing fake news and things that are

not true", and the same the other way around; the people who don't believe the mainstream

media and only look at the alternative media will sometimes say: "Oh, it's fake news, it's

fake news, it's fake news" in the mainstream newspapers, so it's a bit like two sides disagreeing

on something, whether something's true or whether it's fake.

The next idea is "to virtue signal" or people who are "virtue signallers", this means people

who have a kind of politics or a kind of belief, or they do something in their life because

the reason, the real reason is they want to look good, or they want to look kind, and

they want to look like they're really good people. But it's not a genuine... It's not

really genuine; it's just to look good. So an example would be let's say you decided

to adopt children, and you decided: "Oh, I'm going to go and adopt children from the middle

of the Congo Rainforest. I'm going to go and adopt five children from there." And you bring

them back to your country, and then you start making... You start, like, telling everyone

about these children that you adopted and why you're helping them so much, and you know,

and you have to let everybody know about it. And the reason... The true reason isn't because

you love the children or you wanted to help them, it's just so that everybody says: "Wow,

you help people so much. Oh, you're so kind", and you get attention.

Next example is "data dump". A "data dump" is when an organization like WikiLeaks, a

group of hackers or an organization that brings hidden things out into the news, they will

get thousands or millions and millions of emails, and then they will pass them on to

the newspapers or they'll put them out there so that individuals can go and look into a

subject, and find the information about it. But there's so, so, so, so much information,

it's too much for one person to do all by themselves. And the reason for doing the data

dump is to bring the hidden secret things out into the open. So perhaps there was something

illegal that happened in government, or perhaps there's been a conspiracy, a secret about

something, and the reason for doing this data dump is to... It's not... If you think about

it, then it's not one individual person, saying: "Hey, you did this!" which is maybe going

to get them into be really... It would be dangerous for them to come out and speak about

the government perhaps or an important person, but when the information comes out this way,

perhaps... Perhaps that's why it's done, maybe it's safer to get the information out this

way.

Okay, the next term is "Pizzagate". When you hear of something going on, an event or a...

Yeah, something that happens and it has the word "gate", the suffix "gate" in it... "Gate"

comes from a famous time in American politics called "Watergate" when there was... Right.

American history is not my strong point, but anyway, there was a... There was a problem

with a president being in trouble about something, and things had been kept secret about it.

But in Watergate, the secret came out. And since then, when there is a big scandal, usually

in politics or when something that was a secret before comes out, this is where the "gate"

part comes from. Now, in terms of "Pizzagate", I don't want to go into it too much; this

is something that you could look in yourself if you're interested, but "Pizzagate" is about

the idea that the elite, the people in the government, people in the high-up positions

are... Not saying all of them, but they... They abuse children and they're into pedophilia,

having, like, sexual things with children. So the idea, this whole Pizzagate scandal

and storm is about those people in the high-up positions using code words to do with pizza.

So they're just writing emails about pizza, it looks like, but actually what they were

writing about was secret messages about having sex with children. So that's all I'm going

to say. If you want to look at it, look at it yourself.

Next thing is "digital nomad". "A digital nomad" is someone who works on the internet

from anywhere in the world, a "nomad" is a person that has not one home, they just move

their home all the time, from here, to here, to here, to here. Nomads used to be in the

desert, but now nomads can be anywhere with their laptop computers. I did this... I did

this for a bit, I lived that dream. I lived that dream for a while. I thought I'd live

that dream forever, but no, not anymore.

The next word is "minimalist". "A minimalist" is often a digital nomad who can't carry a

lot of stuff around because they're always moving, so they say: "Oh, I don't want to

have a lot of stuff. I'm beyond stuff. I don't need to have lots of things, because I'm a

minimalist. And I care about the environment, and I don't need material belongings." So,

yeah, a minimalist is usually someone that cares very much about the planet and wasting

things, so the point of living their lifestyle by not spending a lot of money, not buying

things they don't need. And it's a trend, it's one of the trends at the moment of a

lifestyle trend, how to... And a lot of people are interested in how to minimalize their

life. "How do I not need so many clothes? How do I...? How can I stop buying so many

things from the supermarket? How can I live with less?" So people will be interested to...

In those kind of things would be minimalists.

The next word is "coworking". "Coworking" is when you don't have a... Perhaps you're

someone who works for themselves, perhaps you're someone who works on the internet.

Generally you could work from your house, but when you work from your house all the

time, it's... The downside of that is you don't see enough people, perhaps it's hard

to stay motivated, perhaps it's just boring as well. So, a trend is for coworking or coworking

spaces, where you rent... You rent access to a place where you can go and work. And

another reason people do it is because here in the coworking space you have fast internet,

you have... Maybe there's good coffee you can drink there, and maybe it's a cool, inspiring

environment for you to be around. So, it's either somewhere that you pay to use and you

can always go, or it could also be as well some cafs are designed this way so that

people can go and work there real easily; they have good desk space, lots of places

to charge your laptop, so those would be coworking cafs.

The next idea is "hot-desking". "Hot-desking" is when... It could be in your office where

you always work, but it could also... Yeah, it could be wherever you work you don't have

a set chair and desk where you always work every day. "That's my space, I always sit

here by the window." No. Hot-desking isn't like that. You could move around to different

places in that place where you work, and other people can sit in your chair, because you

don't have a chair when you're hot-desking; you move around.

And the last word, to mention here: "preppers" are people who think... They're getting prepared,

basically. They're getting prepared, prepared for a big disaster; World War III, environmental

catastrophe, riot, looting - they're getting prepared for when... They're getting prepared

for when... For when shit hits the fan. So, what they do is they... Perhaps they'll be

energy-independent, they'll have their own way to generate electricity, they'll have

survival skills, like how to capture animals, how to butcher them, how to grow food, or

they might, if they... I'm not going to call them... It's a different way. Some preppers

aren't going to want to learn the skills; they'll just buy lots and lots of space, travelling

astronaut food or army food, they'll buy, like, three years' of army food so that if

all the food did run out from the shops they would still have something... Something to

eat when shit hits the fan. But yeah, the point of them is they're worried about all

this stuff going on, and I guess they want to protect themselves, and feel safe and feel

ready for if things go dangerous and wrong politically.

So, thank you all for watching. Now what you can do is a quiz on this lesson. I'll see

you again soon. Bye.

Joseph James DeAngelo's Family: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know | SML TV - Duration: 10:50.

Joseph James DeAngelo's Family: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know

Joseph DeAngelo, the California man who is accused of being the serial killer known as the Golden State Killer, has three children with an attorney he married in the 1970s and was considered a "good father" by a relative.

Early descriptions from neighbors and relatives to local media also paint a picture of DeAngelo as an angry man who was a recluse, although they expressed surprise to learn that authorities suspect he's one of the state's most feared and terrifying killers.

Also dubbed the Original Night Stalker and the Visalia Ransacker, the Golden State serial killer is alleged to have committed 13 known murders and at least 45 rapes between 1975 and 1986.

DeAngelo was arrested Wednesday morning, April 25, 2018, and he was charged with four of the murders, two of them in Sacramento and two in Ventura.

He's a Vietnam veteran who is a former police officer.

That has a lot of people wondering about the suspect's wife, children, and other family members.

You can see a more recent picture of Sharon Huddle practicing in court here.

Here's what you need to know:.

DeAngelo Was Born in New York & Graduated From Folsom High School.

Joseph James DeAngelo Jr.

is 72, and he's a former police officer and Vietnam War veteran.

His old wedding announcement says that DeAngelo graduated from Folsom High School and California State University, Sacramento.

The announcement states that DeAngelo's parents were Mrs.

Jack Bosanko of Garden Grove and Joseph J.

DeAngelo of Korea.

According to a 1973 newspaper article from The Exeter Sun, DeAngelo was born in Bath, New York, and his mother's name was Kathleen.

She died in 2010, and it's not clear whether his father is still alive.

The obituary for Kathleen Louise Bosanko says she was 87 when she died and left behind four children, one of whom was Joe DeAngelo.

"She was a beautiful person and a wonderful Mother," the obituary says.

Her headstone refers to her as "Ramblin Rose.".

After graduating from Folsom High in 1964, DeAngelo served in the Vietnam War.

According to The Sacramento Bee, a former neighbor named Doug Burgarel said that DeAngelo moved to rural Auburn with his mother and stepfather when he was a teenager.

"DeAngelo's stepfather worked for Burgarel's father at Sierra Crane and Hoist as a welder making indoor overhead cranes," reported the newspaper.

According to the Bee, DeAngelo had a brother and his mother worked as a waitress at Denny's.

DeAngelo worked as a police officer in Exeter, California in the early 1970s, the sheriff said, and he worked for the Auburn Police Department through the late 1970s, although he was fired in 1979 "after he was charged with stealing a hammer and dog repellent from a Citrus Heights drug store," The Auburn Journal reported.

Authorities revealed the break in the case came from newly developed DNA evidence.

According to authorities, they got their big break in only the past week.

Sacramento County District Attorney Anne Marie Schubert said it came through "DNA evidence that was examined at the Sacramento County crime lab.

Sacramento County Sheriff Scott Jones said authorities used "discarded" DNA from DeAngelo to make the arrest.

The cases he's charged in are the 1978 murders of Brian Maggiore and his wife, Katie, and the 1980 deaths of Charlene and Lyman Smith.

It's believed the serial killer also slew Alexandria Manning, Dr.

Robert Offerman, Patrice Harrington, Keith Harrington, Manuela Witthuhn, Cheri Domingo, Gregory Sanchez, Janelle Cruz, and possibly Claude Snelling.

DeAngelo Was Engaged in 1970 & Then Married His Now Estranged Wife in 1973.

DeAngelo appears to have had at least two significant romantic relationships that both fractured.

He married Sharon Huddle, an attorney, in 1973.

It appears from archived newspaper articles that DeAngelo was married only that one time, to Sharon Marie Huddle.

Some news stations reported that DeAngelo divorced Huddle in 1991, but others said the couple is estranged but technically still married.

"A law enforcement source tell me the suspected East Area Rapist, Joseph DeAngelo, is still technically married, though estranged from his wife," Tom Miller, a KCRA reporter, wrote on Twitter.

An old wedding announcement in The Sacramento Bee newspaper, which you can read in full above, confirmed the marriage between Huddle and DeAngelo, which took place in the fall of 1973.

The wedding announcement says that the Auburn First Congregational Church served as the setting for the marriage of Sharon Marie Huddle and Joseph James DeAngelo Jr.

It states that she is the daughter of Mr and Mrs.

Clarence Huddle of Citrus Heights.

She was listed as a graduate of San Juan High School and American River College.

According to archived newspaper articles and public records, DeAngelo appears to have been engaged to be married in 1970 to another woman, but he did not marry that woman, although the circumstances are unclear.

Her Facebook page says she currently lives in Sacramento.

DeAngelo and that woman both attended Sierra College.

DeAngelo Has Three Daughters, Including One Who Is a Doctor.

Sharon Huddle and Joseph DeAngelo have three children together, all daughters, according to a family member's obituary.

His first daughter was born in September 1981, his second daughter was born in November 1986 and his third daughter was born in May 1989.

Authorities allege the serial killer's murders stopped in 1986, although it's not clear why.

According to online records, one of DeAngelo's daughters is a doctor in the Midwest.

Another of his daughters is a PhD candidate at a university.

The latter daughter is a graduate teaching assistant who wrote online that her research "is centered around understanding how unique message characteristics affect information processing in online environments.".

This daughter, who once worked for her mother's law firm, also has done volunteer work in the community, including helping with youth baking projects for 4-H and preparing events for the American Lung Association.

She's taught or assisted in teaching a slew of courses at a California university in communication, public speaking, and media messaging.

In a press conference on the case, authorities confirmed that DeAngelo has adult children and was married, but they did not provide other details of his family other than to reveal that they have interviewed some of his family members.

They did not specify which ones.

Sky Q: FIVE missing features you'll definitely want included in Sky's next big update - Duration: 12:15.

Sky Q: FIVE missing features you'll definitely want included in Sky's next big update

Sky Q recently celebrated its second birthday. The next-generation satellite system went on-sale in the UK in early February 2016 as a pricey new addition to the line-up targeted at the most-dedicated Sky viewers.

Sky Q ousted its predecessor, Sky+HD, from the Sky Store in October of that same year, as Sky reshuffled its offering. The UK broadcaster still supports the latter, however, it's no longer available to buy for new customers. And that makes sense as Sky Q improves on Sky+HD in a number of ways. The all-new satellite system was completely redesigned from the ground-up, with a slimmed-down set-top box, and a new-look bluetooth remote that swapped Sky+'s iconic buttons for a circular touchpad.

Since it launched, Sky has rolled-out a number of new features to its Sky Q hardware. The latest blockbuster upgrade brings a redesigned menu, personalised results in voice search, and support for HDR video content. Sky has also announced a new partnership to bring apps such as Netflix and Spotify to the set-top box in the future.

But despite the swathe of new features, there are still a few additions we'd love to see make their way to Sky Q.

Record Upcoming Series This is something that has irked us since the launch of Sky Q, back in early 2016. Sky Q boasts a pretty comprehensive search function, which surfaces upcoming episodes, previous seasons available on-demand, relevant items on-sale in the Sky Store, and similar shows also airing on Sky.

From within the search window, Sky Q viewers can set a Series Link to record an upcoming show each week. This works really well, but annoyingly – Sky Q only makes this option available when the show you're looking to record has a finalised air date.

Searching for a show that does not have an air-date (or any on-demand episodes available from Sky) does not bring-up any results. That's particularly frustrating when you're watching Sky and are constantly being teased by adverts for shows that are "Coming Soon".

Instead, you need to keep regularly checking back on your Sky Q. What makes this omission particularly annoying is that Sky Q is already able to automatically start a Series Link whenever your chosen show next appears for a new season. However, Sky Q will only perform this function if you've set a Series Link on the previous season.

So, for example, if you put a Series Link on Game of Thrones season five last year, Sky Q will assume you'll want to watch season six and will automatically start recording the show when it premieres the following year.

Unfortunately, Sky Q viewers can't tell the box to do the same thing if they missed-out on the last season, or only recently caught-up on the show on-demand, after its original air date. It's a small tweak, but one that would ensure forgetful viewers got the chance to see their favourite series the second it aired. More Dual-Screen Apps Sky Q launched with a handful of preinstalled apps that could be used in split-screen alongside the show you're currently watching. These lightweight widgets slide-in from the side of the screen with bite-size information. Its a brilliant feature, and allows viewers to quickly check the latest headlines, weather updates, and more, without changing channel or interrupting the show.

At launch, Sky Q only had a small selection of apps, including Sky News and Sky Sports. And unfortunately, despite a swathe of software updates to the system in the last two years, that number hasn't increased. It appears third-party developers haven't exactly fallen over themselves for the chance to create a custom Sky Q application. That's a shame, since there is some serious potential here.

We would love to see social media websites launch apps on Sky Q, enabling viewers to quickly check what's trending on Facebook, or being said about a certain show on Twitter while they're watching. That sort of interactivity around live events can usually only be achieved by checking a second screen, like a smartphone or tablet. These split-screen Sky Q apps would also be useful for takeaways.

With the likes of Just Eat and Domino's already offering people the chance to order their dinner from their smartwatch or smart speaker, it makes sense to offer them the ability to launch an app during a movie to order a pizza with the Sky Q remote.

Prime Video Support With an upcoming update to Sky Q, the satellite broadcaster will bring video on-demand firm Netflix to its platform. The recently-announced partnership will see Netflix's catalogue of content, including its original series and movies, included in a brand-new Sky TV subscription pack.

Sky Q subscribers will see Sky and Netflix content side-by-side for the first time in a redesigned Sky Q menu. Those who already subscribe to Netflix each month can either migrate their account over to the new Sky TV bundle, or sign-in using their existing account details to bring Netflix content to their Sky Q box.

This is a brilliant addition for customers – bringing more exclusive content to Sky Q and negating the need to constantly swap between inputs to cycle between Sky Q and another set-top box, like Apple TV, to watch shows on Netflix. Given the excitement around this new partnership, we would love to see another popular video on-demand provider come to the platform: Prime Video.

Amazon's video on-demand platform has seen a number of hugely-successful original shows and film, including Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May's new motoring show, The Grand Tour, and Oscar award-winning films, like The Big Sick and Manchester By The Sea.

Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May are back on The Grand Tour  These original productions are often unable to be seen anywhere else. That means Sky Q customers will have to fork-out for another rival set-top box to catch these shows and movies.

If Sky can cut a deal with Amazon along similar lines to its partnership with Netflix, then its flagship would really become a one-stop shop for all the home entertainment that's monopolising the watercooler conversations in the office.

Viewers' Profiles With Sky Q, the UK satellite broadcaster placed a greater emphasis on personalisation and curation – so much so the first version of the operating system almost buried the Electronic Program Guide (EPG) in the main menu.

That's since changed, but nonetheless, the next-generation system still wants to recommend your next favourite show based on what you've been watching. The My Q section of the surfaces movies, television shows and sporting events it thinks will appeal to your sensibilities. With the latest update, Sky Q viewers can use voice controls to surface recommendations with commands like "show movies for me" and "show box sets for me". It's a brilliant feature, but we'd love to see Sky push it further.

Sky Q Mini boxes track your viewing history separate from the main box, so if you have a Sky Q Mini in the kitchen, this will recommend shows based on what you watch in that room, not what you watch in the lounge, or bedroom. That's good, but it would be great if Sky Q knew who was watching – and separate the recommendations based on the viewer, not the location of the box.

Netflix already provides this feature, enabling subscribers to create numerous Profiles for each viewer. As such, the video on-demand service is able to surface different recommendations for each viewer, despite each member of the household using the same account.

If there was a way to identify yourself to Sky Q, then the service would be able to recommend new shows and movies based on a combination of what you watched on the train to work on your smartphone, on a tablet in bed last weekend, and on the television with the family in the lounge. This would also enable Sky Q subscribers to create a profile for their children to help remove any erroneous kids TV in your My Q.

Sky brought its long-awaited voice search functionality to Sky Q last year, before adding to the feature with a slew of new personalisation options a few months ago. This is incredibly useful, especially since typing out the titles of your favourite box sets and movies takes an age on the small alpha-numerical keypad. Personalisation in voice search, such as the ability for Sky Q viewers to ask for handpicked recommendations such as "show movies for me", "show box sets for me", is a nice addition to the feature. However, it would be great to see Sky really push the boat out and ship an app for the Amazon Echo.

The smart speaker has enjoyed enormous success since it launched in UK in September 2016, and the ability to ask Alexa (the cloud-powered assistant that powers the Echo) to when your favourite show is scheduled to air, and set a recording from another room, would be a brilliant.

And with Amazon's talkative smart assistant Alexa expanding from the Echo smart speaker range to a number of leading smartphones, including Huawei-branded handsets, any Ford vehicle with a SYNC 3 infotainment system, SONS speakers, and some smart home appliances – building a Sky Q Skill would be a simple way to multiply the reach of Sky Q and help customers set reminders for shows, and ensure their favourite movie is downloaded and ready-to-watch when they get home.

Being able to say, "Alexa, ask Sky to download Blade Runner 2049" or "Alexa, ask Sky what time Arsenal vs Everton starts tonight" would save a multitude of button presses. Granted, this one seems like a long-shot, but it's nice to dream, isn't it?.

Don Blankenship Net Worth: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know | SML TV - Duration: 12:17.

Don Blankenship Net Worth: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know

With early voting now underway in West Virginia's Republican primary election May 8, polls show that US Senate hopeful, former coal caliph and ex-con Donald 'Don' Leon Blankenship, who gave some in the Republican party agita, may not wind up the party's nominee in the November election.

So he'll have more time on his hands and, at age 68, retirement is knocking at the door.

Will he have enough money to kick back on?.

Here's what you need to know:.

Born in Kentucky, Raised in West Virginia, the Coal Baron is Worth at Least $40 Million.

Then Chairman and CEO of Massey Energy Company Don Blankenship listens during a hearing before the Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies Subcommittee of the Senate Appropriations Committee May 20, 2010 on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC.

The hearing was to examine issues regarding the safety of coal mining.

Born in Stopover, Kentucky in 1950 but raised primarily in nearby West Virginia, Don Blankenship would end up as the chief of one of the nation's largest coal companies, Massey Energy.

He officially retired in 2010, eight months after one of the country's deadliest coal mine disasters at Upper Big Branch mine, a mine he owned.

Of the 31 coal miners underground at the time of the explosion, only two survived.

Blankenship graduated from college in 1972 with a degree in accounting.

He says after college, as a certified public accountant, he worked in the food industry, Keebler and Flower's bakery.

In 1982, he got his first job with Massey in 1982 and then, over the years, worked his way up to be the only person to run the company that was not a member of the Massey family.

He is divorced with two adult children and three grandchildren.

Blankenship Was Paid Millions & Walked Away With Many Many Millions More.

He's Worth $40 Million, or More.

Blankenship was said to be worth $40 million in 2015.

In 2009, the year before he left Massey, Blankenship was paid just shy of $18 million in salary.

And, as ABC News reported in 2010, Blankenship got an obscenely lucrative retirement deal, a parachute so golden he'll be on east street for life.

Blankenship got a $2.7 check, a house, "millions more in deferred compensation, and a 'salary continuation retirement benefit' of $18,241-a-month payment, the latter was a 10-year deal so that expires in 2020.

But Footnoted.com reported in 2010 that Blankenship's dale was far sweeter than was reported.

Based on on SEC filings and other documents obtained by the website, he was to have received a $5.7 million pension, huge stock options, a $27.2 million payout from a "deferred-compensation account" and with the house, Massey agreed to pay taxes he would owe on it.

Footnoted reported that in his last three years with the company, he got a total $38.2 million total compensation, almost $28 million of that in cash.

So no worries, he has a dinosaur-sized nest egg.

A Convicted Criminal, Blankenship Spent 1 Year in Prison.

He Claimed he Was a 'Political Prisoner'.

Blankenship arrives to brief then West Virginia Governor Joe Manchin about the Upper Big Branch Mine disaster.

Rescue efforts to save four miners was suspended because of poison gasses trapped underground.

A West Virginia-funded independent investigation found that the 2010 explosion at a Massey Energy's Big Branch Coal mine that claimed the lives of 29 of 31 miners in the hole was a failure of basic coal mining practices and that Massey was directly responsible.

Blankenship was indicted in 2014 on numerous charges including lying to federal regulatory officials, but ultimately was found guilty in 2015 on a lesser charge of willfully violating safety standards.

He was freed on $1 million bond until his sentencing in 2016 when he was ordered to serve 1 year in federal prison and pay a $250,000 fine.

He appealed and lost and served the full year and was released in May of 2017.

Blankenship claimed he was unjustly charged, tried, convicted and sentenced.

"Politicians put me in prison for political and self-serving reasons.

I am an American Political Prisoner," he wrote from his Taft, California prison cell.

On his campaign website he wrote, "Over the past thirty years I have been threatened with death several times: had urine thrown on me: had eleven bullet holes shot into my office: had two cars smashed with ball bats and clubs while I was in them: been continually lied about: been the subject of several false books: been branded with multiple derogatory names: been sued numerous times: been slandered on national television many times: been subjected to continued ridicule by newspapers: been falsely accused of causing the Upper Big Branch (UBB) tragedy: been falsely arrested: endured a trial where I faced thirty years in prison for made up charges, and been put in federal prison for a misdemeanor.

Former Federal Prisoner Blankenship Hoped to Head to Another Federal Building, Congress.

Republican candidate for U.S.

Senate Don Blankenship speaks at a town hall meeting at West Virginia University on March 1, 2018 in Morgantown, West Virginia.

Blankenship is the former chief executive of the Massey Energy Company where an explosion in the Upper Big Branch coal mine killed 29 men in 2010.

Blankenship, a controversial candidate in central Appalachia coal country, served a one-year sentence for conspiracy to violate mine safety laws and has continued to blame the government for the accident despite investigators findings.

Last month, March of 2018, the GOP, fearing the 2018 midterms could be a blue tsunami, also worried about the fringe Blankenship, coal king and federal ex-con.

Republicans hoped for the best and prepared for the worst.

But based on polls in late April, Blankenship's senate dream ship may be sinking.

On his campaign website, Blankenship says that he is Don Blankenship's opponents like to make sound bite statements such as "Don put profits before safety." These types of statements are made to distract from the truth and to protect politicians who do nothing to make miners safer.

The truth is that no one did more for coal miner safety than Don Blankenship and coal miners know it.

Veteran coal miner Danny Muncy makes that point in this new ad.

In the final analysis, though, Blankenship likely doesn't have a chance.

Politico reported that Blankenship's primary run is in the rear view mirror.

"With the primary two weeks away, the survey shows Blankenship, who spent a year in jail following the deadly 2010 explosion at his Upper Big Branch Mine, falling far behind his more mainstream rivals, GOP Rep.

Evan Jenkins and state Attorney General Patrick Morrisey.

The poll found Morrisey leading with 24 percent, followed by Jenkins with 20 percent, and Blankenship trailing with 12 percent.

Thirty-nine percent were undecided," Politico reported.

Don Blankenship Has Had His Share of Scandals & Controversies, Most He Invited.

Student protesters demonstrate against Republican candidate for U.S.

Senate Don Blankenship.

Besides the coal mining disaster that he was held responsible for, Blankenship was sued by a former maid who accused him of was forced to quit her job because of abuse with evidence that was later called "un-refuted" when she tried to get unemployment benefits, which she ended up receiving.

Unemployment is rarely given when someone quits a job.

Blankenship was said to have grabbed her, verbally abused her and once, threw fast food at her when she got the order wrong.

This is how you are screwing up your life - Duration: 5:25.

We all basically bullshit ourselves

in some way

That's just the reality of it

we all have our excuses,

our reasons

we blame things on external

sources

why certain things didn't happen

and sometimes our bullshit is so

good and believable that other

people buy into it, but we also

buy into it as well

and maybe your story or your BS

is I didn't have the time or I didn't

have the money

or there was traffic or this

happened to me because

of this person, my boss, my

family member, my parents

my brother, my sister

the country, the economy etc

we have these external things

that we blame

and these excuses and reasons

that we have

now what happens is every time

that you do that

every time that you blame or

you have an excuse

or you BS yourself or have a story

you're giving away your power

you're giving away your power

and you have no ability to change

what your current circumstance is

So getting to the truth and taking responsibility and ownership is

powerful

It's a really powerful thing, but it doesn't feel good because most of

us don't want to blame ourselves

because it makes us feel like we are failures, makes us feel like we

are not enough

But again if you can get to that

point and finally admit to yourself

Hey you know what, I am this way

because of me

then that can at least get you in the

right direction to make a change

Any area of your life that you want

to change. Any...

There's one fact you need to know

Ever

Noone's coming, motivation isn't

happening,

you're never going to feel like it

scientists call it activation energy

That's what they call the force

required

to get you to change from what

you are doing on auto pilot

to do something new

Do you think somebody who needs to

lose weight

ever feels like going on a diet?

Of course not!

Do you think they ever feel like

eating boiled chicken and peas

instead of a croissant? I don't

think so!

The activation energy required to

get your ass

away from your computer and out

of your front door

to go on the walk you said you

were going to go on

is the exact same amount of force

that it takes you

to push yourself out of a warm bed

and into a cold room

It's very very simple to get what

you want

but it's not easy. You have to force

yourself.

when I say force, anything that is

a break from your routine

is going to require force

I think when you feel stuck or

dissatisfied in your life

it's a signal

and it's not a signal that your life

is broken

it's a signal that one of your most

basic needs

are not being met. Your need for

exploration

Your soul needs exploration and

growth

and the only way you'll get it is by forcing yourself to be

uncomfortable

forcing yourself to get outside

out of your head. If you are in your

head you are behind enemy lines

that is not God talking, Okay!

you feelings are screwing you!

I don't care how you feel

I care about what you want

and if you listen to how you feel

when it comes to what you want

you will not get it

because you will never feel like it

and you need to get outside your

comfort zone

it's not about taking risks, it's about

getting outside your comfort zone

So one more thing you can use

I call it the 5 second rule

Your mind can process a facial

expression in 33 milliseconds

it can move pretty damn quick

the other thing that it does very

quickly

is if you have one of those

little impulses

that are pulling you

if you don't marry it with an action

within 5 seconds

you pull the emergency brakes

and kill the idea. Kill it.

If you have the impulse to get up

and come dance

while the band is playing, if you

don't stand up in 5 seconds

you're going to pull the emergency

brake

If you have an impulse, you were inspired by somebody's speech

today

and you don't do something

within 5 seconds, write a note

send yourself a text

anything physical to marry it with

the idea

you will pull the emergency brake

and kill the idea

your problem isn't ideas, your

problem is you don't act on them

You kill them. It's not my fault.

It's not anybody's fault.

You're doing it to yourself

Stop it!

I am counting on you!

Sharon Huddle, Joseph DeAngelo's Wife: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know | SML TV - Duration: 10:32.

Sharon Huddle, Joseph DeAngelo's Wife: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know

Sacramento Bee Sharon Huddle in the wedding announcement when she married Joseph DeAngelo.

Sharon Huddle, an attorney, is the estranged wife of Joseph James DeAngelo Jr.

, 72, a former police officer and Vietnam War veteran who is accused of being the notorious California serial killer known as the Golden State Killer and East Area Rapist.

Also dubbed the Original Night Stalker and the Visalia Ransacker, the serial killer is alleged to have committed 13 known murders and at least 45 rapes between 1975 and 1986.

DeAngelo was arrested Wednesday morning, April 25, 2018, and he was charged with four murders, two of them in Sacramento and two in Ventura.

That has a lot of people wondering about DeAngelo's family, including his estranged wife, who is also known as Sharon Marie Huddle.

You can see a more recent picture of Sharon Huddle practicing in court here.

Here's what you need to know:.

Huddle Married DeAngelo in the 1970s.

It appears from archived newspaper articles that DeAngelo was married one time, to Sharon Marie Huddle, in 1973.

Huddle, an attorney, and DeAngelo divorced in 1991, according to Fox 40.

However, other reports say the couple is technically still married, however estranged.

Clarence Huddle of Citrus Heights and his parents were Mrs.

Jack Bosanko of Garden Grove and Joseph J.

DeAngelo of Korea.

According to California marriage records, Sharon was 20 and DeAngelo was 27 when they married:.

‌She was listed as a graduate of San Juan High School and American River College.

DeAngelo graduated from Folsom High School and California State University, Sacramento, the wedding announcement says.

Huddle & His Wife Have Three Children & a Neighbor Described the Suspect as Having Anger Pouring Out of Him.

Sharon Huddle and Joseph DeAngelo have three children, all daughters, together, according to a family member's obituary.

His daughters have deleted some of their social media accounts.

In a press conference on the case, authorities confirmed that DeAngelo has adult children and was married, but they did not provide other details of his family other than to reveal that they have interviewed some of his family members.

They did not specify which ones.

One neighbor, Cory Harvey, told the Sacramento Bee that DeAngelo lived with a daughter and granddaughter, and she thought he was divorced.

Grant Gorman, who grew up in the neighborhood where DeAngelo lived, told the Bee that he "avoided playing with one of DeAngelo's daughters while they were young" because DeAngelo had an anger management problem.

"This guy just had this anger that was just pouring out of him," Gorman said to the newspaper.

"He'd just be yelling at nothing in the backyard, pacing in circles.".

DeAngelo Was Engaged to Another Woman Once & His Wife's Law Firm Specializes in Family Law.

According to archived newspaper articles and public records, DeAngelo appears to have been engaged to be married in 1970, but he did not marry that woman, although the circumstances are unclear. Her Facebook page says she currently lives in Sacramento.

DeAngelo and that woman both attended Sierra College.

An engagement notice ran in the local newspaper, but the marriage appears not to have materialized.

Some witnesses had reported hearing the emotional attacker utter the word "Mommy," although others thought it was actually "Bonnie," the name of the woman he was once engaged to, according to Slate Magazine.

Sharon Huddle, the woman DeAngelo did marry, has a law firm that specializes in family, divorce and real estate law, according to its page on Yelp.

The Yelp page featured a scathing but unverified review about Huddle.

According to the California State Bar, Sharon M.

Huddle has an active license to practice law in that state.

She was admitted to the bar in 1982, was inactive for 8 months in 1987, and then was active again.

She practices in Roseville, California, and has no disciplinary actions on her license.

She attended McGeorge School of Law, University of the Pacific.

A story on the Sacramento Family Court Report website described how a judge's decision "demeaned, disparaged and ridiculed" Sharon Huddle and her client.

According to the article, "Huddle was subjected to similar treatment by controversial Judge Peter J.

McBrien during a family court trial in March, 2006." Another judge allegedly said Huddle received harsh treatment because she "wasn't an insider.

She wasn't a pro tem," the article reports.

Miller, of KCRA, reported on Twitter: "Seeing some rumors on social media that the suspected East Area Rapist's family turned him in.

Just checked with @sacsheriff and am told that's '100% unequivocally not true.".

DeAngelo's Brother-in-Law Thought He Was a 'Good Father'.

DeAngelo's brother-in-law, James Huddle, told Oxygen.

com that he thought DeAngelo was a good father.
