what's up everybody I'm brick harem Ella and today I'm gonna tell you everything
you need to know about the pocket Osmo I'm gonna kick a little flow so here we
go so the pocket Osmo is finally here was announced at
New York City's event called because life is big so rather than making a ton
of youtube videos I'd rather make one YouTube video with all the information
that you guys need to know so that's what I attempted to do in this video so
if you haven't done so please subscribe to my channel so it can help me make
more videos like this in order for you to make the best decision for you and
show you how to use this new DGI device so I'm gonna start with all the specs
and I'm gonna go into the features and as we go along I'm gonna give you my
opinion show you some b-roll of how it's used in order to give you a very
comprehensive look at the Osmo pocket alright so when you unbox the Osmo it
comes with a nice little case it comes with some small pamphlets one of them is
the Osmos shield which is insurance for the Osmo pocket it includes a wristband
for the case so you can just carry it around your wrist which is nice and
convenient so you don't drop it like your cell phone it's gonna come with a
USB cable to USBC cable it's also gonna have a lightning adapter so you can
mount that right in to your phone and use the DJI MIMO app what I do like
about starting the Osmo pocket is as opposed to the other Osmos that you have
to attach with your phone again to the app with the other Osmos it takes about
60 to 90 seconds really to start it up and start shooting but the Osmo pockets
only a few seconds so it's gonna be a lot better for running and gunning and
for vlogging now not only is the Osmo pocket versatile because you can use it
in so many different ways but you also can record in many different ways you
can record on to the micro SD card with just the Osmo pocket or you can connect
it to your phone and record all the footage that you that you're shooting on
to your actual phone so you have two ways of recording which is great that
people want to record another phone cool if you want to prove
onto the SD card you can do that as well all right so let's start looking at the
gimbal Canberra the unit itself there's no surprise there it's 12 megapixels
with a 1/2 point 3 inch sensor we kind of expected that the maximum image size
is gonna be 4000 by 3000 pixels the field of view is gonna be 80 degrees but
has a very fast eff 2.0 lens which is gonna be very helpful in low-light and
for anything that's moving letting in a lot of light having that fast glass is
really nice now you're gonna be able to take
panoramic shots time-lapse motion lapse and I'm going to talk about that more in
depth later in this video much like the GoPro it is able to shoot
4k at 60 frames per second which is a step up from the other Osmos that were
only able to do 4k at 30 frames per second and that's something that even
the Mavic 2 doesn't do now all those specs aside the one that really counts
that I'm excited about is the bitrate and a hundred megabytes per second I'm
glad they didn't make it at 50 or 60 megabytes per second because that would
have been more like the other Osmos and more like the Mavic pro alright they
stepped it up to 100 megabytes per second so in 9 pixel peeping geek talk
that basically means you're gonna get really really great video quality out of
this sensor and because of this I won't be surprised if the footage is actually
better than the GoPro Hero 7 black you're gonna be able to record an mp4
which is kind of universal or maybe more geared toward PC users and also MOV
which is more geared towards Apple users the quality is going to be the same with
either one so don't worry about that you can shoot at codec of h.264 it doesn't
have h.265 but to me that's not really a huge deal most people use h.264 and
don't have the computing capacity to use h.265 so h.264 is all good for me get
this the micro SD card that you're able to use is up to 256 gigabytes that's
right 256 not 128 like the Mavic - ok you can go all the way up to 256 that's
really nice because you can put on a big old card slap it in there
and then you don't have to worry I know a lot of people say oh you're supposed
to use more than one card in case the card fails but I've been using SanDisk
cards which I'll put in a link below and I can say the SanDisk I've never had one
fail in 12 years of doing photography and cinematography so maybe I'm lucky
but that's just my two cents for that now looking at the specs the one
question I have is the audio it says 48 kilohertz I'm not sure exactly how good
the audio is but if you do have good audio this could be huge because the
Osmo pocket is so darn small all right these are the dimensions in inches and
millimeters less than five inches and weighing only four ounces or about a
quarter of a pound I mean this is so darn small it's really great and that's
why a lot of people have been comparing it to the GoPro because of its size and
all these functions that I'm talking about all right so it has 875 milliamp
hour batteries which is about seven point seven volts and in layman's terms
that means it's going to last about an hour and 40 minutes and it takes 73
minutes to charge an empty battery now if you live in an area where it's really
really cold or really really hot it's going to be able to perform in
temperatures from 32 degrees all the way through 104 degrees Fahrenheit or 0 to
40 degrees Celsius now one thing I noticed from DJI products in terms of
temperature you are able to push that a little bit so if you wanted to use it in
little colder weather on the freezing side you could just be careful you want
to make sure you keep like a heat pack around it and make sure it doesn't get
too cold because you could damage the battery and damage the unit itself but
all your skier is snowboarders it could be a lot of fun to take around because
then you can just throw in your pocket and ski down the mountain and get really
good first-person view shots where you're skiing down the mountain or
you're snowboarding down the mountain etc as I mentioned in my previous video
you are going to be able to use a lot of accessories with the pocket Osmo much
like the GoPro now these accessories are specifically made for the Osmo pocket so
if you already having Osmo unfortunately you're gonna
have to get new accessories for the Osmo pocket and I will include a link to the
accessories in the description below some of these accessories include a
waterproof case it does have a waterproof housing enabling you to use
it underwater without distortion of that 80 degree field of view a controller
wheel and D filter set wireless module extension rod accessory mount expansion
kit in a variety of cases and bags let's talk about the ergonomics or the way the
Osmo pocket was built so if you look at it you can see it has a little touch
screen which is nice now I don't have to use just my phone you can use your phone
put the Osmo pocket down like on a tripod or a little mount and then I
could film myself further away so that's really nice that I can use it both with
a phone without a phone it has that nice little touch screen also like the other
Osmos and the Ronin s I can use it in normal mode in flashlight mode and then
in underslung mode also the Osmo pocket is so small for having a 3-axis gimbal
so that's great it's super small and you get that three axis gimbal in order to
give you really smooth footage whether you're walking running on a bike or
doing any other type of activity now the active track is something I wanted to
see the other Osmos the only Osmos that have it have been the Osmo mobile one
and the Osmo mobile two but now they added it to the Osmo pocket which is a
great feature I don't know why they didn't put it in the other Osmos but I'm
really happy to see it in the Osmo pocket the active track is great for
vloggers for people like myself and make youtube videos or travel videos and just
want to point on either myself using an extension rod or I could point on
something else and I don't have to do anything I just hold the Osmo pocket and
it does everything for me it's kind of like a lazy man's way of shooting but it
really is effective and looks very smooth and professional I also like the
fact that using the active track you don't have to
really draw a square around someone like you had to do with DJI drones and the
Osmo mobile so for the Osmo pocket all you have to do is just double click it
and it will recognize you recognize portraits whether I'm pointing it in
selfie mode at myself or I'm shooting a subject so I can capture the image
really quick and this is great for running and gunning as a vlogger or
someone who shoots spontaneous videos you don't want to be setting up a shot
doing all this stuff all right you want to get the shot quick all right before
it leaves so having that active track and just double-click and I'll execute
the shot without any fuss now with that said if you use your phone you're gonna
have to use the mimo app or my mom I'm not sure exactly still how you pronounce
it I think it's MIMO and with this app which is free on Google Play and Apple
phones you can just attach your cellphone go into the mimo app and then
use your finger to highlight the person or the object that you're tracking and
it'll track it for you again on the touch screen on the pocket Osmo you
double click but with your phone you just make that square and the active
fact basically does the rest one cool feature of the active track dimension is
that it doesn't have to have the gimbal and center it can move all around in any
position so no matter how you're holding the Osmo pocket it's still gonna follow
the subject and be locked in now we're going to talk about moving the gimbal
around I recommend you get the controller wheel which cost $59 this is
going to give you a lot of added functionalities so with the controller
wheel you can just tap this small little button next to the dial and one of the
modes you can make the gimbal go up and down vertically or you tap the little
button to the side and then you can make the gimbal go side-to-side so having
this controller wheel is really helpful now another way to move the gimbal up
and down it's just actually on the touchscreen of the Osmo pocket on the
right hand side you can just use your thumb or your finger to move it up and
down and the gimbal will go up and down as so another thing that the controller
wheel does you can tap on the side button over here and then it just goes
into selfie mode tap it it goes back to normal mode which is great for vloggers
which I mentioned earlier I know I'm mentioning a lot about vlogging but this
is a great vlogging camera when you press on that middle
button or that button to the left and the controller wheel it's going to go
into the different shooting modes now you can go into the tilt mode the FPV
mode or the follow mode now when you hold down that right button on the
controller wheel the gimbal is going to be locked in position no matter where
you move the gimbal the head will stay perfectly still and will give you nice
smooth shots so basically that right button on the controller wheel is much
like the Ronin s the trigger in the back or the trigger and the Osmo mobile that
you have to hold down to keep it stable so once you take your finger off that
button then you lose all that stability that you had it kind of goes kind of
everywhere a little loose so in most cases you're going to want to hold that
button down one thing to know when you get that controller wheel if that dial
is not in the center the gimbal head could drift it could start moving and
this happens with other Ozma's and people think it's broken there's a
manufacturer error no it just needs the calibration so if you get your Osmo
pocket and you attach the controller wheel and your head starts moving the
gimbal starts moving to the side without you doing anything then you're gonna
have to do a calibration so you're gonna have to go into the little touch menu so
on the touch menu you're gonna swipe down and then you'll see a little icon
for settings you click on that then you're gonna scroll over to where it
says accessories you're gonna click on that and then you're gonna click on dial
calibration once you press that it's going to do that calibration so you
won't get the head drifting off to the side so it's just a quick
troubleshooting here so you get this don't freak out that's how you fix it as
we know Instagram has taken over social media and has its stories feature which
everyone seems to love it seems to be going crazy now so DJI is being pretty
smart and trendy it made a story mode function so you can use this function to
upload videos to Instagram to Facebook or to any other social media it will
shoot edit add music and record on to your phone and you can upload it so it's
basically all in one no effort no extra downloading and doing this and
doing that so if you want to shoot yourself doing any type of thing like a
fashion shoot walking around whatever you guys do while you're vlogging or
just recording your life or your business you can do that very quickly
and easily in story mode so let me explain alright so you have that little
adapter on the side of the Osmo pocket right above the record button then you
can attach your cell phone when you connect your phone to the adapter on the
Osmo pocket the MIMO app is automatically going to load in the
application you just slide over to the right and on the right side and the
lower right side it's gonna say story you're gonna click on that but then
you're going to be able to choose from four different story modes leisure
fashion cut and lively after you choose one of these four modes then you can
start recording when you record the gimbals automatically going to go into
that specific story mode and record the way it should and then process
everything add music and then download it right onto your phone so you can
upload it to social media so all your friends can give it a heart alike or
whatever else you want
I next let's talk about panel mode so shooting a panorama you can do it with
the Osmo pocket you don't need your phone however to view what you shot
you're gonna need to attach your phone so you can do it with your phone
attached or you can do it with just the Osmo pocket but in order to view it
which you probably do you're gonna eventually have to attach your phone so
on the touch screen you just slide over and then you're gonna choose panel on
the bottom right there and then panel you can do a 180 which will do 180
degree photo just go around and take it stitch it all together or you can do the
3 by 3 3 by 3 means 9 photos totals so
$317 which is right next to it just press it and you have the option of
doing 180 degrees or the 3 by 3 now let's talk about time lapse and motion
lapse you can do this with the Osmo pocket or with your phone you can
connect with the wireless module via bluetooth or Wi-Fi the main thing you
have to know is you have to either set it down on a flat surface or get this
module to keep it nice and steady but you can't move while you're doing a time
lapse or emotion lapse obviously because your footage won't come out right now
with the time lapse you can adjust the interval or every few seconds is it
going to take a photo and then the amount of time that's gonna elapse and
it's going to turn it all into a video you can go 20 30 minutes whatever you
want to choose but to do motion lapse you're gonna have to physically move the
head the gimbal of the pocket Osmo so it's much it's kind of like waypoints on
a drone basically you pick one point you like it
you move the head manually physically move it pick another point
press the plus sign move another point press the plus sign on the screen and so
you have these different points once you like it then you press
go and then it does it all for you I actually recommend using this with your
phone because when you use your phone for the motion lapse you're going to be
able to press path and then after you press the path button you're going to be
able to press the plus button the plus as new points where you want to move the
head so you move the head one position you press plus to another position you
can also take any point delete it and then it goes back and then you can put
in a new point so for instance you move it over here you don't like it delete it
and set a new point just to get it exactly right what I do like about this
camera I like the DJ I added the fpv mode because in fpv mode you can shoot
like a 360 kind of like the barrel roll with the Ronin s you can just go all the
way around and it's gonna maintain that horizon based on where you are it's not
gonna try to go back to the center and lock in but it's going to do all this
with that three axis stabilization alright so now that we've talked all
about the Osmo pocket if you decide to buy it I'm gonna go quickly right now
over activation setting it up so you have a kind of a QuickStart guide to get
going with this mini stabilizer so the first thing you want to do charge your
battery on the front of the Osmo pocket there's two buttons all right you have
your record button the button next which is a little red dot right next to it
there's another button you just hold that down when you hold it down the Osmo
pocket is gonna freak out it's gonna do that cable head calibration move around
like it's drunk and when it's done with that then it's powered on then you're
gonna remove the little cover and you're gonna put in your adapter and attach
that little adapter to your cell phone before you attach your cell phone make
sure you down the DJI memo app you can download it both for Android and for
Apple or whatever type of phone you have and once you download that then you're
gonna have to attach your phone to the adapter once you attach it go into the
app when you start the app for the first time it's gonna say activation there
just slide that over and press turn on upload device information and press next
then you're gonna press login now you can either register for an
account if you don't have a DJI account or create a new DGI account if you are
have a DGI account that you want to use you can just use that by clicking on
login then you're going to press activation and just wait and remember
you need your battery fully charged and you need a good internet connection if
you don't have either of these it could lead to some problems then you press
done and you're all good you're done activating the Osmo pocket after you
activate the Osmo pocket then you're going to want to do a firmware update so
make sure you have an SD card on the side can't do it without an SD card in
the side of the device so after you put that in then you're going to press the
right button on the Osmo pocket to turn it on connect your phone with the
adapter go into the memo app in the top of the app it's gonna say new firmware
available for download you just click on that and just wait for it to download
now make sure your battery is fully charged and make sure you have good
Wi-Fi connection so after you press download you're gonna have to also press
install at the bottom to get the firmware to download properly once the
firmware is fully installed you can press complete and what's nice about the
Osmo pocket is after you do the firmware it will shut itself down and then turn
on again for other drones or DJI products
you basically have to turn the unit off and then turn it back on after you do a
firmware update because if you were to do the firmware update and then just
start using it it wouldn't work properly you have to turn everything off and
turning everything back on but the Osmo pocket does everything for you which is
great now if you've already used an Osmo or another DJI product the memo app
should be pretty intuitive however I'm gonna go over it briefly just to get you
started it's not too complicated but here we go alright so all the shooting
modes are on the right-hand side of the screen you just slide it with your thumb
or your finger move it around on the right side that big circle if it's white
it's for photos if it turns red that means it's taking video so you can just
switch it back forth you know if white is photo red as video the little icon in
the upper right hand corner of the app is the selfie mode so you just press
that and then the gimbal will turn around and look right at you and then if
you want to go out of selfie mode just tap that same
again and will go back to its original filming position okay that icon right
above the red or white circle is the recenter button so when you press that
button the gimbal will go right back to center so have you moved the gimbal to
the side and it's looking to the left or it's looking to the right or down or up
when you press that recenter it's gonna go right back to the middle like I said
before that big round circle is to take photos or video for video you obviously
press it it starts the video press it again stops the video what's great is
you can immediately go into active track mode by just highlighting the subject
with your finger so you make a little square on a person and object whatever
and then it automatically will follow that object or person all around to stop
the active track all you do is that box that's around the subject is going to
have a little X in the upper right hand corner you're just going to press that
little X to exit out and then you're back into normal mode like the DJI Go
app and the DJI go for app in the lower right hand corner you have that little
icon that you click on to review your videos or your photos of course you can
pick ones that you like you can delete them you can do whatever you like with
them and they're right there now a really nice feature with this app is the
fact that you can touch the screen in whatever direction you want the gimbal
to move so as soon as you touch the screen in that direction that point
where you want to move the gimbal will move in that direction but it won't it
will do it in a very smooth and cinematic way you can just tap wherever
you want the gimbal to move and it will automatically move in that direction
which is pretty nice in the upper left hand corner you can see your camera
settings and the battery life and the battery life is what's on the Osmo
pocket which will last up to one hundred and forty minutes now when use the
active tracker you have the gimbal following something you can adjust that
speed so you click on that icon the gimbal icon and you can adjust basically
how the gimbal moves whether you want it to move nice and smooth or you can have
it move much faster if you want to adjust your different camera settings
you click on that icon on the left hand side right here now if you wanted to go
into more extensive video and photo features you're going to press in the
lower left hand corner and that's going to give you all your different
settings you can also see the battery life and how much space you have on your
microSD card when you just have the Osmo pocket on so I'll say it on the top and
on the bottom right on that little touchscreen so speaking of the touch
screen let's talk a little more about that to learn how to use all those
settings very briefly so what you do is you just swipe down with your finger on
that touch screen and you're gonna come to your settings then you're gonna just
swipe to the side and as you swipe you can go to beautify mode Gimple settings
full screen mode and brightness setting now when you swipe up with your finger
you're gonna go into your gimbal quick settings these quick settings include
recenter selfie follow speed fpv follow and gimbal lock now when you swipe left
on your touchscreen you're gonna have a list of different shooting modes after
you choose the shooting mode that you want then you're gonna swipe to the left
side and then you can adjust the specific setting within that mode that
you want perhaps an easier way is just to press that right button right below
the screen you just press that and then you can go into your different shooting
modes as well now the button with a little red dot you just press that and
you're gonna be able to record photos or videos when you're on that touch screen
you can swipe right to review what you've shot to see all your different
photos and your videos now when you want to turn off the Asamoah pocket you just
hold that button on the right hand side and it turns off and then if you run out
of battery on the bottom you just plug in a cable and then you can start
charging the little light above the red dot button is going to blink on and off
and you can see when it's done charging hot doggy that was a long video I hope
you found it helpful if you did press that like button if you're interested in
buying the Osmo pocket or some accessories I have links in the
description below to make it convenient for you and if you haven't done so guys

WOW Embossing techniques coffee lovers blog hop - Duration: 18:09.
Hi I'm Gerry from Gerry's Craft Room In this video I'm going to make a card for
the WOW and coffee lovers bloghop because we had a fall/winter theme and we
should add a picture coffee, tea or cocoa I started with a colour scheme
I have 3 colours WOW I am going to use and I already cut the card and 2 layers to size
I have a double card base and the light yellow/cream colour that I will tape to the card
for the next layer I will add some embossing powder through a stencil
in this bloghop there are some fun prizes to win and I add the link to the blogpost
with all the info in the description box for you along with the products I used
and if you are new here don't forget to subscribe
I just pounce a bit on the stencil this way the ink gets in real well
and the inkpad doesn't get damaged
now I am going to apply 2 colours of WOW on the card
just sprinkle on a bit of the first colour and then shake of the excess
then add the second colour and shake off the excess again
and then heat set the powder with a heat tool
By the way if you feel inspired I always love to see your makes
so don't forget to use #gerryscraftroom when you share your work on social media
you can see it melting when the powder changes colour
for the next layer I embossed the cup image with a Fabscraps stencil
I have a video where I show you how you can emboss with stencils and I will link to that
I will cover the complete paper with embossing ink
and then sprinkle on the embossing powder and then I heat set it
Now I will colour the coffee cup and I add the stencil again to ink just the cup
because the cup is raised it's easier to ink it
then I sprinkle on the embossing powder and shake off the excess
and I melt it with the heat tool
I want some circles on my yellow card and I have another stencil
I blocked parts with sticky notes and I will add the ink through the stencil
on the card on a few places
then I sprinkle on the embossing powder to see where I want more circles
when I have enough circles I'm going to melt the powder
I distress the edges and mat the coffee cup card on dark brown cardstock
I distress all the layers and start adding them to the card
I add foam to the card with the cup on the back to create some dimension
here I decided I wanted another layer and I emboss the edges of a yellow/cream card
with the inca glintz I just add ink to the edges
as the middle will not be visible
and then I embossed the card with an embossing folder
you can do the dry embossing first and then heat emboss if you like
I have all my layers and now I want to add some burlap rope
I use the focal point to determine where I want the rope
then I decided I wanted a bit more colour
on the cup and I use a paper stump to add the ink
then I sprinkle on the embossing powder and remove the bits
that are outside the image just wipe them away
As I saw this worked fine I add some more ink and embossing powder on other parts
the added colour gives a fun touch to the cup
I added some foam to the back leaving space
in between for the rope and I finish with a hot cocoa sentiment because
I don't drink coffee or tea
make sure you check out the Giveaway on both the WOW blog and coffee lovers blog
because you never know when it's your time to win
I hope you liked the video don't forget to like, share and subscribe
I love to see you in the next video thanks for watching

How To Say Common English Expressions! | Small Talk - Duration: 22:41.
Well hey there! I'm Emma from mmmEnglish!
In this lesson, we'll go over the pronunciation of some
really common English expressions that native speakers
use when they first meet someone.
Hello, how are you?
I am well, thank you.
Do you have plans today?
Would you like to get a coffee with me?
I'm afraid I can't today.
Perhaps we could meet another time.
That's not a problem.
I suggest you call me when you are available.
Did you understand that whole conversation?
I think that you probably did
and I also think that most native English speakers
that you come across, they don't actually speak like that,
right?
If only everyone spoke as clearly and with such
good pronunciation.
But let's take a look at a more realistic conversation,
something a little similar to what you'd
hear in the real world.
Hey how you going?
Hey, not too bad.
What are you up to today, do you want to grab a coffee?
I'd love to but I'm a bit busy today.
I've got a few things on later.
That's cool.
How about you give me a call when you're free?
So native English speakers have a habit of
reducing and contracting words when spoken
and we linked sounds together when we speak
so it's really difficult to know where one word ends
and another word starts. It's especially common
when we use everyday expressions,
really common ones. We use them so much
that we get lazy with our pronunciation.
But that can make it really hard for English learners like
you who are practising with conversation that's like this
but most of the time this is the actual situation.
So in this lesson I'm going to go over some common
and natural English expressions that you'll hear
and maybe even use yourself every single day.
By the time that we're done, you'll have a better idea
what these expressions mean and how to respond
but you'll also know how they're pronounced naturally
by native English speakers.
And it could be quite different to what you think
and make sure that you hang around until the
end of the lesson because I've got a surprise for you
and a few bonus expressions to practise with me.
Let's start at the beginning. There are lots of different
English greetings. Things that we say when we first
meet someone.
Good morning. How are you? All of those things.
But let's focus on 'How's it going?'
So this is kind of a strange one.
How's what going? I'm not going anywhere.
'How's it going' is a really common greeting.
It's an informal way of asking someone how they are.
So you might even say this to your boss,
if you get on well together.
But you probably wouldn't use it in formal situations
You would use it when you call your friend.
Say "Hey, how's it going?"
If you ran into your neighbour at the supermarket,
they might say to you "How's it going?"
It's informal it's friendly and it's used all the time.
So let's take a closer look at the pronunciation.
So firstly, we don't pronounce the full verb 'is',
we combine 'how' and 'is' together
to make a contraction 'how's'.
It's really unnatural to say 'How is it going?'
in this context so make sure you use the contracted
form like native English speakers would.
So notice how the letter S is pronounced
as the voiced /z/ sound, right?
Next trick. When a word starting with a vowel
follows a consonant sound, any consonant sound
but in this case /z/
then we can link those sounds together.
Not
Bit
They should push together those sounds 'how's it'
and finally you may not hear a native speaker
pronounce the final G here in 'going'.
So this expression is really casual you'll often just hear it
pronounced with /n/ at the end instead of
So that's 'goin' instead of 'going'
So let's put it all together.
'How's it going?'
The intonation goes down at the end.
You try it!
Awesome! That sounds really good!
Alright let's try another now.
When this happens all the time, a time when you're
getting introduced to someone new.
Someone that you've never actually met before
but you know a lot of information about them.
So maybe it's the husband of your colleague
and your colleague talks about her husband all the time.
You don't know them, you've never met them before
but you know of them. You know some information
about them.
Well then when you meet them it's really common to say
"I've heard a lot about you"
It's a really nice way of saying my friend tells me
about you all the time.
I feel like we know each other already.
Really friendly and it's so common
and it's a very polite response.
I've heard a lot about you.
So for example
"Hey this is my friend from uni that I always talk about."
Ah, yeah I've heard a lot about you!
So nice to meet you.
Let's take a closer look at the pronunciation.
'have' at the start of the sentence.
It usually joins together with the subject
in spoken English so it becomes a contraction.
for example.
Not 'I have' but 'I've'.
Make sure you have that consonant sound
coming out right it's one that you sometimes forget
isn't it? On the end.
Now the H of 'heard',
it often gets a little lost here.
It's like the sound from the end of 'I've'
links directly to the vowel in 'heard'
Now these words all pull together, don't they?
You can hear those sounds coming together
and in fact we hear the flap T there as well.
Well in my Australian accent you do and it's also
really common to hear that in American accents as well.
But the T almost sounds like a /d/ sound
and that happens often in English when the letter T
is between two vowel sounds like here.
Now even though the letter T is at the end of the word
'lot' it's followed by a vowel sound and in spoken English
these words would pull together
so you get a T between two vowel sounds.
It makes /d/ sound.
With that T at the end, you'll hear a stop T.
So I don't fully release the air after that T
to make a complete T sound. Not
but
Don't release the air.
Let's try it all together now.
Your turn.
I've heard a lot about you.
Now if you said that to someone, it's really common
for them to say back to you
all good things I hope,
like "I hope that everything you heard about me was
positive".
So be ready for that. You might even decide to say "Yeah
Of course all good things!
I've heard all good things about you!"
All right so we've broken the ice a little there but now
where do we go? What next?
What are you up to? Up?
What are you up to?
If you've ever been confused by this expression,
you're not alone,
it's even confusing for me when I think about it.
'What are you up to' is another way of saying
what are you doing now?
If you're curious about what your friend is doing,
you could say "Hey, what are you up to?"
Or you can use it with another time expression
to ask about future plans.
Do you have any plans tonight?
What are you up to on the weekend?
Do you have any plans on the weekend?
So this expression has a couple meanings.
So when we start looking a little closer at the
pronunciation, it gets really interesting.
Now remember that flap T from before .
Here it is again.
In spoken English, 'what' and 'are' come together.
The two vowel sounds make the the T sound
turn into a D.
The word R is unstressed here so it reduces right down
to become the schwa sound.
And 'you' also reduces down as well.
We hear the schwa.
So 'what are you' becomes
And you'll hear that question all the time
in spoken English.
It's kind of confusing, isn't it? But understanding
how these words are spoken will help you to understand
more native English speakers.
But let's get back to this question.
So the unstressed schwa and the
vowel sound that you hear in 'up' are very, very similar.
So they actually pull together.
So you really just hear 'you' as the
sound.
Crazy huh?
And you wonder how sometimes it's really difficult
to understand native English speakers, right?
You have a go.
Now it's important to note that there are a lot of
different variations between accents
so you may hear
where the ch consonant sound is used.
Try it.
So this is such a common expression in English.
If you hear a whole lot of mumbling at the
start of a conversation with a native English speaker,
don't freeze because they are probably just using
these really common expressions
and being lazy about it.
So for you, understanding how the natural expression is
different from the written words
is really, really important.
Now to answer this question,
you would simply explain what you are doing
at that moment or your future plans
if there was a time reference.
But if you're not doing anything particularly interesting
or you don't really have anything planned
then how do you answer this question?
You say..
Now it's hard to believe that even these quick responses
actually reduce down.
So we don't hear the T in 'not'
Again that -ng when spoken quickly at the end of a word
it sounds more like just
instead of
You might also say
or
So this is the unstressed form of 'just' and it sounds like
So this also helps to explain that the activity that you're
doing at that moment, it's not really important
and notice as well that I've completely dropped
the pronoun and the auxiliary verb.
I didn't say "I am just finishing this email"
I could but often native speakers will drop this
information if it's unnecessary.
So the question that was directed at me
"What am i up to?"
I don't really need to clarify that in my answer.
I'm talking about myself right?
So I dropped it, it's not that important.
So tell me what did you think of this lesson?
I hope that it was useful for you.
In a minute,
I'm going to take you on a bit of an adventure
outside of my studio to practise some more
common expressions - ones that I use all the time.
But before I do, I want you to add some common
everyday English expressions that you want me
to include in a lesson just like this in the future.
If there is any that you want to understand more then
add them into the comments below
so that I can make a lesson.
Hi!
I'm ready to practise!
Okay! Hey I've got an idea. Why don't we practise
outside? I've never really filmed outside before but
it's probably going to be really windy, bit of traffic,
but I've been meaning to do it for a while.
Do you want to try it?
Let's just give it a go, yeah?
Sure!
Alright so, 'give it a go' is something that I use
all the time.
It means to try something new, right?
Like right now, I've never filmed outside before
and I'm not really sure how it's going to turn out but
I want to just see how it goes anyway.
I would say all the time give it a go.
So depending on who you talk to,
you might hear people say "I'll give it a shot"
or "I'll give it a try" or "I'll give it a crack"
All of these expressions that have really
similar meanings. For me I always say "give it a go"
It's really easy to just roll off the tongue. I'm going to
talk about how all of these words kind of push together
when they're spoken naturally because
you will never hear someone say "let's give it a go"
but instead "give it a go"
and so what's happening is all of the words that end
in the consonant sounds, are actually linking to the ones
that follow that are vowel sounds.
So instead of
and notice how it's unstressed so it reduces down
to the schwa sound.
And also that T is a stop T which means that I'm not
fully pronouncing it, I'm not letting the air go afterwards.
I'm not saying
but
So it's stopping, I'm not releasing the air.
So that article,
its a schwa and it reduces right down.
You might even hear that T, that flap T
sounding more like a D there because naturally in my
pronunciation, with my accent,
it'll reduce to that flap T sound.
instead of
So why don't you give it a go? Try it.
Let's give it a go.
Right now, let's go.
Hang on a second I've got to get my phone.
Okay now let's go give it a go.
I'm going to take this. Hi mum.
Hey. Can I give you a call back?
I'm a bit busy. Yep.
Alright I'll talk to you soon.
Hang on a sec, I'm not coming to dinner tonight.
I'll come over tomorrow. Okay. See you.
Alright so that, I said "hang on a sec"
and I say that all the time.
It's a really casual informal way of saying
just wait a moment. It's a little bit more, you know,
because we're friends and we're just hanging out,
it's much easier, you know and much more relaxed
to use that expression so 'hang on a sec'
What's a sec?
Well a 'sec', is it's a short version of the word 'second'
so we're going to focus on the first three words
So they kind of all come together, don't they?
When I say them quickly.
And that's because the consonant sounds at the end
of these words links straight to the vowel sounds
that follow.
So the 'a', the article links straight on behind.
It's just a schwa, it's unstressed.
It's really soft and flat.
Try it with me.
Nice one!
Let's try another!
With those clouds, we might be running out of time.
We've got time for one more but let's do
'running out of time
because we are, look at these clouds.
It's a really common expression, it's an idiom
that you might already know but we're going to focus on
the pronunciation so first up we've got a contraction.
'We are', the auxiliary verb 'are'
comes together with the subject 'we're'
So instead of saying 'we are' - it sounds quite sort of
stiff and formal
but you know if you're speaking more naturally
just like a native English speaker would, you would
probably just contract those two things together.
And then at the end of 'running' usually what happens
with native English speakers is instead of pronouncing that
sound at the end, they get really lazy
and they'll just pronounce the
Then we've got 'out of time'.
Now if they're pronounced really clearly you can hear
all of those words but instead
when spoken naturally you'll hear
'out of' becomes
And thats, you'll see the flap T there. You'll see
that will reduce, that will become the /d/ sound.
That's my accent anyway. The Australian accent,
will use the flap T, same with the American one,
you might hear people say
but most commonly
And 'time' is a stressed word there,
so we hear it really clearly.
or
Why don't you try it?
Well I hope you enjoyed that lesson. It's been fun
taking you outside and I think we're going to keep going
with this we're going to keep giving it a go.

Pillow with sheep with mini loom I Nandini Mitra - Duration: 3:47.
Hello, I'm Nandini! Maybe you've got a boring cushion at home
and you want to pimp it up a bit. Today I'm going to show you how to use this mini-loom
to make a sheep cushion.
The box contains the loom board, the wooden pegs
and a wool needle. First, you put the pegs in the holes on the board.
We start on the second row in the third hole from the left with four pegs,
then go down diagonally and keep going all the way round.
And now it looks like this. Now we start weaving.
It's best to secure the start with some sticky tape at the top left.
And then just start wrapping the thread. Go around here, and now move on to the next peg.
Stretch the thread down the length here, go around, pull it tighter
and on to the next peg. Keep going until the double threads in the middle are four-ply,
and the outer ones two-ply. Thread the two threads into the wool needle that came with the loom,
and now we start knotting the outside edge.
We go in here, under and through. This makes a loop and we go through.
The knot is here, to the left of the peg. So, once we have put the
outside knots all the way around, we start with the inside knots.
You stick the needle in here, diagonally underneath the threads, and pull it out here.
Go through the loop this makes and pull the knot tight.
Hold the knot, go into this gap here, diagonally down and to the left, pull the
needle through and then through the loop that we have made.
You proceed like this, snaking up and down,
until you reach this point. Then at the end we sew the rest of the thread.
This is what it looks like. So now we can take the weaving off the loom, gently and carefully.
I lay my sheep on the cushion and sew it gently in place.
With a textile paint marker it can be washed at 30 degrees.
And the sheep cushion is finished.

New Horror Movies to Watch Right Now || Weekend Watch - Duration: 3:04.
- Hi. - Hi.
Oh, I totally missed it there.
- Hi. - Hi.
I'm Michael.
- And I'm John.
- This is the "Weekend Watch Guide."

(laughter)
She gets so excited like a puppy.
(tranquil music)
- So this weekend's actually a really dope weekend
to check out some really cool thrillers,
or thriller musicals.
Like "Anna and the Apocalypse."
- This movie is really interesting because
it's the first ever zombie Christmas musical?
Yeah, I said that right.
- In November.
It's not December.
It's early.
- You know, it's a horror comedy movie.
So it's kind of like "Shaun of the Dead"
(tense music)
meets "La La Land."
- ♪ You got the invitation. ♪

- Oh no. - What?
- Justin Bieber's a zombie.

How would you survive a zombie apocalypse?
- Look, I'm gonna be real with you,
I don't think I would.
So, I think I would just like,
make the most of my time left.
- And do what?
- I would get some Taco Bell,
a steak, maybe a light salad as an appetizer.
Another steak, the graham cracker fro-yo
with the Cinnamon Toast Crunch on top,
and then maybe like a beverage.
- You done?
- I think this movie's (laughs) actually really cute.
I mean look, it's so silly.
You have the cliche of the zombie movie.
Cliche musical movie.
It's just so all unrealistic, but I love it.
And I cannot wait to see it.
- And it's different.
I think audiences are looking
always for something different.
- Yup. - And why not around
the holiday times, throw in some zombies,
throw in some gore, and throw in a musical.
- Go watch "Anna and the Apocalypse."
We'll be there.
- Sing your hearts out. - John will be a zombie.
I'll be eating the popcorn,

If a zombie comedy is not your thing this weekend,
you could also check out like,
a true, die-hard horror movie,
"The Possession of Hannah Grace."

- [John] This movie stars Shay Mitchell
from "Pretty Little Liars,"
who plays a police officer just out of rehab,
who is now working at a city morgue.
But little does she know that all the
crazy things happen whilst at this job.
- Let's talk about the cinematography.
It's dark, it's ominous,
she's in a morgue.
And the nature of this job
is like A) she just got out of rehab,
but she's working in a place alone with dead people.
So that's just kind of like. (tense horror music)
(shudders)
- [John] This sh*t is scary.
If I was alone on night shift at the morgue,
yeah, I wouldn't be doing anything
but hiding in a closet playing my Candy Crush.
- You still play Candy Crush?
(sad trombone)
- Don't bother.
- OK, we'll talk about that later.
'Cause really there's so many other games.
- Fans of "The Exorcist" will love this movie,
because we're really seeing a modern,
updated version of possession of a young girl.
And it's really different because the body
this time shows up dead and we think the demon's gone,
but oh no, she's still there.
- That's a curveball.
(dramatic music)
(whining)
- But, I think what's interesting
is that we're well past Halloween now, right?
And horror is still going strong.
This is like horror holiday season.
- Well it's like,
you know, the horror some people feel when
they have to go home for the holidays.

Patchwork Card - Altenew Crafty Friends Hop! - Duration: 6:21.
Hi it's Therese from Lostinpaper and I'm going to be making a patchwork card
today and I'm using this simple fruits stamp set from Altenew and this is
part of the crafty friends blog hop so heaps of prizes and lots of Giveaways
and lots of discounts and stuff I've got all that linked at my blog so head
through the description below and you can find the links to all of that as
well as hop along to the other participants in the hop. I decided to
make a patchwork card because this is a crafty friends blog hop and I have a
lady that I've worked with for many many years who's just retired and she's a
patch working hero of mine and very crafty she is one of those
people that can pick up any craft and just make it work and
create the most beautiful things so she's particularly fond of patchwork so
I thought it'd be really nice to make her a retirement card in a patchwork
style so and I thought it'd be fun to sort of make a little bit more modern so
what I've done here is cut six squares and these are four centimetres and I've
chosen some nice bright colors from the altenew range and I will have all
those colors linked at my blog as well. And I'm just making them look like little
pieces of patchwork fabric so making sure that I'm stamping off the side
and stamping they're quite large images these ones so I only really managed to
get two stamps of each image I initially was thinking like I used the greens and
the oranges and I was tossing up whether to go for the Reds or the purples but I
think if you look at the color wheel the purple sort of goes with those colors a
little bit better so that's why I used a couple of the newer Purple's the
hydrangea and the ultraviolet and I think they looked really pretty so I
thought I'd make this a nice bold quilt so I have a black a jet black cardstock
background that I'm attaching to the front of my top fold card and then the
sentiment today comes from the crafty life stamp set and I've just stamped
that in black ink on a piece of white card
and I did rip the end of that just to make it a little bit more rustic you see
it's a little bit different card design for me today I stamped out this cute
little pair of scissors from the beautiful you stamp set and this is
fussy cutting in real time when you're fussy cutting it's important to cut the
pieces that are going to be like the really sort of the intricate part of the
image first so it would be very difficult to come back in and try and
cut between the scissors ends after I'd cut around the whole thing cuz I have
nothing to hold on to so if you've got an intricate portion of the image cut
that piece out first and of course rotate your paper rather than your
scissors and I sort of tend to look ahead of where I'm going to cut and I
find that keeps me on track.... mostly... sometimes I'll get a bit close
that's where the dies are nice, well I don't have the matching dies for this
set I am adding some stitch lines I rarely do this on cards but I just
thought it went really well with the patchwork theme I did think about not
doing it I just think it does make it more earthy more patchworky but while
I was actually drawing on this pair image I had an epiphany,
as you do, and I thought maybe I could, because I was thing about doing like a
swirl of cotton, but I thought it'd be even more fun to actually make it look
like this is a patchwork in progress so what I decided to do was get a piece of
and then this isn't cotton because I couldn't find my cotton I think I've
used it here before and I've got it somewhere safe so I couldn't find my
black cotton so what I've got here is a piece of this is a DMC embroidery thread
and it's just one piece of the strand it comes with five strands and I've
actually removed one piece and I'm just sewing that through so it's got two
loose ends on this piece of and I'm saying this in inverted commas because
you can't see me with my fingers 'piece of fabric' and then
I just thought this just added a little something extra I made this a little bit
more personal I didn't actually add any stitching lines to the kiwifruit panel
because I thought well that one hasn't been done yet I did pop up all these
little panels on the front of my card I've used it's only one millimeter thick
so it's a really thin foam they're really thin foam dots so they don't
actually sit up very much at all but just enough to give it a little bit of
dimension and then I added my sentiment with a couple of layers of those foam
dots so that actually sits a little bit higher and then all that's left to do is
add my scissors I initially colored these in sort of our orange didn't like
that came back with the gray didn't like that and in the end I've actually
colored it with the black artist marker and that's a good thing about the
alcohol markers is you can kind of change it up if you want you can color
at the top and I made sure that the pair of scissors was cutting that piece of
thread and that's my finished card for today don't forget to head to my blog
and see what else is happening on the hop and how you can win if you like this
video please like it if you haven't already I would love it if you would
subscribe to my channel see you next time till then,
Happy papercrafting bye

and so I sleep and I do I don't know what to do with myself during flights
but this time I'm actually gonna plan out what I'm gonna do yeah what I'm
gonna do during my flight because I'm gonna be on the go for 28 hours I'm
gonna have to stop overs which I like a couple of hours and I have the main
flight from Amsterdam to I don't know I forgot what's going to you but it's some
20 no 13 hours thirteen hour flight in a shitty ass airline I'm probably gonna
die but I'm gonna prepare how I'm gonna use that time as effectively as possible
but on that note I'm gonna sign off so see you tomorrow
and Pete I do wake up plan there's no alarm to wake you up sleeping breathing
doing all the things I heated up a wine coalition I just wanna make a trip to
the child

How to Create Awesome Passwords - Simple 3-Step Process (both with and without technology) - Duration: 7:00.
- We all know that we need better passwords
but it feels like too much trouble.
Thankfully, it doesn't have to be
as I'm gonna share with you in this guide
to creating better and more secure passwords.
Hi, I'm Josh, and we're gonna start this with a little quiz.
I want you to think of any one of your passwords,
be it your bank, your email,
anything that you can think of
and answer these four questions, yes or no.
First, is that password longer than 12 digits long?
Second, does that password contain uppercase,
lowercase, numbers, and letters?
Third, is that password unique,
meaning that it hasn't been used
on any other account that you have?
And fourth, has that password been changed
in the past six months?
Now if you answered no to even two of those questions,
you've failed, but that's okay, you are in good company.
Trust me, so many of us are in the same boat.
All that means is that we need to take a few extra moments
to secure ourselves online by creating better passwords.
And what I wanna do right now
is walk you through a three step process
to do that very quickly and very efficiently.
Step one, select a process to create new passwords.
And this is something that we need to do
before we start changing our passwords
is we need to select that process,
and let's lay some ground rules.
First of all, changing letters into symbols is not secure.
Changing password into password is not gonna cut it.
Likewise, if you can actually save your password
really easily, such as crazy monkey
with a capital C, an at instead of an A,
and a zero instead of an O,
again, that's a little too easy.
Whereas if I were to give you this password,
it would take me about 20 to 30 seconds for me
to explain the whole password to you
the capitals, the lowercase,
the symbols and the numbers.
That is a secure password and that's what we're aiming for
with all of our accounts.
Those kind of secure passwords.
Now before you get a little bit overwhelmed
by the idea of having to create all these passwords,
let me explain that it is a lot easier than you think.
There's a couple methods, some that rely on technology,
and some that you can do on your own.
Let's start with the ones that you can do on your own.
My favorite method for creating these secure passwords
is to use a poem or a line in a song
or a favorite line that you like,
whatever it is, and create a password out of that.
Let's take an example of the poem Jack and Jill.
If I were to take the first line of that poem
and turn it into a password, it might look like this.
Jack and Jill went up the hill
to fetch a pail of water.
And as you can see, this password
is more than 12 digits long,
it contains capitals, lowercase, numbers, symbols,
and it's unique, or at least it's unique for this.
How would you take and make this password unique
for all of your accounts?
Especially if you don't wanna be writing
all of these weird ones down
and having to come up with new ones every single time.
Well the way that I've gone about it
in some of the accounts that I've had is I've taken,
let's say I'm gonna create a password for Facebook.
I'll take the first letter of Facebook, an F,
put it at the beginning,
and then I'll take the last letter of Facebook, K,
and put it at the end.
And I'll do that for ever single one of the accounts
that I'm creating.
If it's gonna be Gmail then I'll have a G at the front
and an L at the end.
That creates a unique password for every single one of them.
Now, this is a much better method
than probably what you're currently doing,
but it isn't the most secure method.
The most secure method is to just create
randomness as much as you can without any sort of semblance
of what you could explain very easily
like I'm doing right here.
And that's where technology comes into play.
There's a lot of password managers.
I use a password manager myself called Dashlane.
There are a number of others you can try.
I've put links in the description below.
What these do is they have a password generator,
and you can find these even online as well.
They generate a password that is very long,
very hard to say, and you can just copy
and paste that password in.
Now how do you remember that password?
That's what we're gonna get to in step two.
The key right now is to set up a process
to create the passwords.
Is it something you're gonna do in your head,
or is it something you're gonna do using technology.
I recommend you use technology at this point,
but that is entirely up to you.
Step two, we need to create a way to store
these secure passwords.
Now the last thing you wanna be doing
is writing down all these passwords on a piece of paper
and having to bring that piece of paper
with you wherever you go or pull it out every time
that you need to sign in to one of your accounts.
So what's a way that you can do that?
Well I already shared with you one of the ways,
which is to create one that you can remember
and that is unique for every single one of the accounts.
The other way is to use, like I said, a password manager.
Now if you look, as I'm using this password manager,
I've created all of the different accounts
that I have, and there is a unique password
that is set up for every single one of these accounts.
And while I'm on my computer
it syncs with my phone and my tablet.
All of those passwords stay synced up
and it's behind a single master password
that I need to know.
For my phone it can be my finger print,
but for the computer I need to have a secure password
that I use that allows me to get in and add these passwords
whenever I'm signing in to all my accounts.
Alright, step three.
Now we need to systematically go through
all of our accounts and change our passwords.
And before you freak out
about how much time that might take,
let's first just say what's important
is to get your most sensitive accounts changed.
I would go through, get a piece of paper,
and list out the most sensitive accounts.
Those are the ones that
if someone were to have your password
and to be able to get into these accounts,
they could do irreparable damage to your credit
or to your identity.
I would spend one day just getting
all of those sensitive accounts their passwords changed
using either the method we talked about
or a password manager like Dashlane.
Once you do that, then you can go through
and maybe spend five to 10 minutes a day,
or just anytime you log in to this new account
like Facebook or Twitter or Pinterest,
these place where, yes, a secure password is good
but it's not absolutely going to destroy you
if somebody hacks into that account,
that's when you need to go through
and change all of those passwords as well.
It might take you a little while.
I just decided to sit down
with one or two hours and just knock it all out
so that I had secure passwords.
And if I have a password manager like Dashlane or others,
when I try to log in,
it will automatically input those passwords
so I don't have to go through and copy and paste.
The only thing I need to know
is my master key password for that account
which could be my fingerprint
or it could be the actual password on my computer.
So to recap you need to select a process
to create secure passwords,
to store those passwords securely,
and then to systematically change those passwords.
And that includes changing your sensitive account passwords
about every six months or less.
I hope this was helpful.
If so, give it a thumb's up.
Questions go in the comments below
and if you wanna see even more great videos
about how to secure yourself online,

Have a great week and stay secure.

okay let's do it
good job huh how are you a tit yeah you didn't think
you could do it I knew you do it takes a little while shake off those cobwebs
it's good good stuff now this is one of Jett
he's one of my favorite putting drills of all time all right it's a little
12-foot arc when use five balls we just build a little arc not a Noah's Ark just
a 1/2 crescent moon shape arc now what you're gonna do is you're gonna start on
it with ball number one until you make it when you make it you go to ball two
if you make ball two you go to ball three if you miss ball two you start
back over about one the goal is to get five in a row if you if you get to five
and you miss you go back to one from like 10 to 12 feet
I like 12 feet little harder you'll start becoming really good at that first
one and then the pressure mounts oh please don't I don't wanna miss and it's

were nothing good stuff so you could putt um last up last thing here's what
we're gonna play 18 holes on the putting green
we're gonna line everything up and you're gonna play twice the second time
I want you to beat your score from the first time all right
so you got to do it until you beat your first score whatever your first score is
keep playing 18 holes till you beat it got that let's do it
all right since Jed whooped me both times what do
you say we have a one-hole put off before the championship of the world
yeah double or nothing yeah okay for all my money for all your money let's do it
we're gonna go from here to uh the far hole down there that's not good yeah
you're doomed I got it that's why they call me mr. short game what do they call
you see nothing I call nothing they call you nothing you're not nothing
all right that's it
