4 Reasons You Should Be Doing Whole-Body Traininggymnastics: - Duration: 4:13.4 Reasons You Should Be Doing Whole-Body Training
Whole-body training, aka full-body training, refers to training every muscle group in one workout, rather than training them separately.
Split-style training has been a staple of the bodybuilding community for years.
With splits, you can lift more volume per individual muscle groups, but you sacrifice frequency.
Whole-body training involves less volume per body part per workout, but each muscle group gets worked more frequently.
Frequency, as it turns out, is the way to go.
Here are four reasons why I think you should switch to whole-body training.
Greater Fat Loss.
Research shows whole-body training can improve fat loss over typical split-style training.
In one study, individuals who performed whole-body workouts three times per week lost more body fat than those who were following a typical split-style training program.[1].
Whole-body training appears to influence fat loss through gene activation—my area of study while at Yale School of Medicine.
Gene activation is critical for determining training outcomes, be it muscle growth or fat loss.
Whole-body training instigates gene activity to keep metabolic processes revved up in every single muscle, an effect that lasts all day long.
Your body essentially burns more fat and carbs for fuel throughout the day with whole-body training.
Greater Muscle Mass.
In the same study, the whole-body training group gained slightly more muscle mass than the split training group.
One possible reason: Whole-body subjects showed improved testosterone-to-cortisol ratios.
The higher your testosterone is and the lower your cortisol is, the more anabolic you are.
Activating this ideal anabolic ratio through frequent whole-body training maximizes potential muscle-protein synthesis, leading to greater muscle growth.
Greater Strength.
When researchers split the subjects into groups of stronger individuals—those who could squat heavier—and weaker individuals, they found the stronger individuals in the whole-body training program had greater strength gains than the stronger individuals assigned to split-style training.
This suggests advanced lifters may experience even greater benefits from using a whole-body training programs than their novice counterparts.
This represents a sea change among exercise scientists, who used to recommend beginners use whole-body training because it allows more frequency for training the motor system and nervous system—the main changes a newbie sees in the first few weeks of training.
Now it appears the greater frequency of whole-body training may be of greater benefit to experienced lifters seeking to improve their strength gains.
Greater Overall Health.
By activating genes in every muscle fiber every single day, whole-body training keeps metabolic processes firing, which plays a role in helping to prevent the onset of various metabolic diseases.
At age 49, Im in the best shape of my life, both inside and out.
Whole-body training is one of the reasons why.
Now that youre sold on this training style, be sure to check out my Whole Body Training Program to improve strength, burn fat, and build muscle.

Do You Have Your Life Figured Out? - How To Plan Your Life - Duration: 9:09.So I don't know if you realize this or not, but planning your life these days is
way different than planning your life a generation ago and we're gonna be
talking about how to plan your life in today's world.
Hey, welcome back!
Thanks for tuning in and today we are going to be talking about how to plan your life.
Planning your life used to be a lot different years ago, generations back
people would plan what kind of job they were gonna have, what their occupation
was going to be and they would maybe go to college and then they would get a job
and then they would work there for like 30 or 40 years and they would get a
retirement and then they would live happily ever after and that's the way
people plan their life back then. This, the world that we live in today is
completely different people move and things change at the speed of thought.
It's like you have this idea and you can implement it immediately with the
internet, with YouTube, with all the different things that we have available,
a thought can be distributed around the world in a millisecond and so there are
so many changes that can happen from moment to moment,
it really isn't feasible for us to for us to plan our lives the way that we
used to 30 or 40 years ago. So planning your life now looks completely different,
the other thing to consider is that jobs and occupations and professions that are
available right now today are different than jobs and occupations and
professions that are gonna be available ten years from now, even people that are
going to college right now for a certain occupation, that occupation may not even
be available ten years from now, it might be something that they're outsourcing or
that is just totally eliminated. So because of the world that we live in and
the fast pace that things change, it's important for us to be really present
and almost really intuitive to what is the next step and how do I plan even
from moment to moment, and so the planning
actually becomes less important than the outcome. What is the outcome that you're
after? What is it you want to create in your life? What kind of environment do
you want to live in? What kind of relationships do you want to have? How do
you work best? Maybe you love like a nine-to-five job, maybe you love being
flexible and being able to work from home, maybe you're the kind of person
that wants to be behind a camera, maybe the person that wants to be in front of
a camera. Whatever it is, it becomes really important for us to really tap
into, who am I, like what really makes me tick, what makes me
thrive, what do I feed on, what fuels me, those are the types of things that we
want to plan our lives from. The outcome, if we can focus on the outcome,
the how-to and the planning part just seems to fall into place and especially if we
can be moment-to-moment and asking what is the next step, what is
the most important next step for me to have this outcome that I want to
become a reality. There's a difference in the way that our world revolves now, the
way that our world works now. It used to be that it was all about me, what
was my jobs gonna be, how much money could I make to support my family and
then when I get retired, what am I going to do with my life and it was just all
about me, it was all about me and my family, my whole world revolved around me
and my family, it's not like that now. We live in a world that is so much bigger
and so much more connected at the same time than ever before. So not only are we
planning a life that will just support me but now I'm planning my life of how I
can support me and build me, create me to a point where I can actually spread
myself around the world and leave some sort of a legacy and not just leave like,
a little nest egg to support my family after I'm gone, that's not what the world
is like today. We would be living in the
world, you know, 50 or 60 years ago if that was our only focus. So my focus
personally, is to be able to create a legacy that I get to live in, that I get
to share this legacy of wisdom and knowledge and experience and whatever it
is that I get to share while I'm still here, that I can become, I can be part of
that legacy and continue growing it. So that's the kind of plan that we want to
be making now, and it all begins in here, it starts on the inside and then that
plan has to have some sort of transition to the outside, to be able to share it
with other people and the only way that I know to do that is to really get clear
and fine-tuned with who I am, what is my purpose, what
lights me up, what helps me to thrive, those are the types of things that I
want to put my efforts into and if I don't currently know how to, you know,
what the plan is to get there, then there are mentors, there's YouTube, there's
Google, there are so many different things that we can go to to learn those skills,
to get that education that we need, so it's not just about going to school,
getting a degree, getting a job that you're going to work out for 40 years
and then retire. It's about who has the information that I can gather and then I
can glean from, that really supports what I want to create for me. So it's not just
about what I can get for me and to support my family and then finally
retire and maybe leave a little nest egg for my family, that's not what it's about,
it's about me, developing me, growing me living in a way that is serving me, that
helps to light me up, helps me to be fueled on a daily basis and then also
transitioning that into how do I bring myself outside, so that other people can
experience what I've learned, other people can experience my wisdom,
my knowledge that I've gained. So when
planning your life, this is planning how do you become the very best you and the
best way that I know is mentors, you choosing and selecting people who
already are where you want to be, that's one of the best ways that I know of, that
is the best way that I know of to get there faster and the next step is living
in your purpose and being paid so that you can continue to thrive there.
So there are multiple ways to be able to take whatever your gift and skill is and
your talent and to tie that in with something that you get to make money out.
And again, mentors is a really great way for you to be able to figure out how
that happens. So always taking care of you first and
then once you've got your needs taken care of, then beginning to see how you
can transition that out into the world and share it with the world. Maybe you
have a book in you, maybe you get to be a speaker, maybe you are just an awesome
mom and you're spreading what your gift and talent by being a really great
mother and then these kids go out and become really great moms and dads.
So whatever your skill is, learning how to transition that so that other people
outside of you can benefit as well and that's the legacy that you leave, the
legacy that you leave in planning your life is that, you're still going to be
here and other people are going to glean from your knowledge so then you become
the mentor in whatever your gift and talent is and the best way I know to
live in a world and be planning your life in a world that changes at the
speed of thought, is to use your intuition, what is the next step for you
step in fully to who you are, to living your purpose, to taking care of you by
monetizing that purpose.
So now you know that creating a plan is just as easy as
knowing what to do the very next moment and I invite you to check the link to my
website in the description below, I would love to hear from you if you would like
more information on how to create a plan for moment-to-moment.

The Tag: Reviewing the Ballet Flats You've Seen All Over Instagram - Duration: 6:53.The Tag: Reviewing the Ballet Flats You've Seen All Over Instagram
In todays retail-scape, you can shop anywhere—including on Instagram. In our new column The Tag, were highlighting indie brands weve discovered (and fallen in love with!) through the social media platform.
Read brand backstories and product reviews, then share with a friend so you can both amp up your wardrobe. Easy to wear and suitable for nearly everything in your closet, the ballet flat is a classic thats not going anywhere.
The essential proved the perfect entry point for Alexa Buckley and Sarah Pierson, who decided to cast careful consideration on the basic when developing Margaux. Launched in 2015 with an almond-toe flat, the brand has since expanded to offer multiple versions.
The classic, rounded ballet skimmer, yes, but also other shoe types: a pointed toe, slingbacks, and a court heel. A made-to-measure option allows for those with hard-to-fit feet, or a significant size difference from left to right, to find the perfect fit.
Prices start at $125 for the Demi, a rounded, drawstring-tied style that most closely resembles classic dance slippers.
Margaux's 2.5-inch heel retails for $245.
All styles are available in a narrow, medium, or wide width, a relatively rare experience when buying shoes. Thoughtful construction at the toe box and front tip also fight the too-worn crease that can plague flimsy styles.
Our verdict? Noticeably better than the chain-store styles weve slipped on, these feel as if theyll stand up to commuting wear-and-tear.
No bandages required, either: With a proper fit, we havent experienced any of the pinching or blisters you sometimes get with styles that look like they should be comfortable but actually arent. More from its founders:.
Where did the idea first come from?.
SP: We serendipitously met at a cab stand just weeks into our freshman year [at Harvard], and we were friends at first sight. We became roommates the following year and lived together for the rest of our college career.
It wasnt until our senior year, however, that we began dreaming up our vision for Margaux..
AB: During the summers we spent interning in the corporate world, we experienced the unfortunate shoe-shuffle so many women endure and felt like there had to be a better way.
We were convinced that there could be a shoe that looked as beautiful as it felt: One that wouldnt just get us to where we were going, but that we actually wanted to wear when we arrived.
So, we set out to create the perfect wear-everywhere shoe for today's modern woman and along the way, to redefine the way that shoes are sized and sold.. Margaux founders Sarah Pierson and Alexa Buckley.
Whats the journey of building your brand been like?. AB: At the heart of it is a recognition of a need—that women needed shoes designed just as much for fit as they were for style—and a laser-sharp focus on achieving that goal.
Weve taken a measured approach to expanding our product line, introducing one silhouette at a time and only when its as close to perfect as possible.
And we constantly collect feedback, giving us a direct line to comments, suggestions, and requests from our very loyal customer base. The result is that weve earned their trust..
SP: Internally, we've surrounded ourselves with exceptional individuals, who have lent their time and talent to realizing our vision.
Having entered the consumer world with little previous experience (none, actually), weve relied on those who are best-in-class in their respective fields to lend their perspective and guidance to our larger vision.
In doing so, weve been able to accomplish more than we could have on our own.. How has Instagram affected your business? Do you have a particular strategy for using it?.
AB: As a digitally-native brand, its been a powerful tool for acquiring new customers, [and weve had] the ability to build out the Margaux world through this intensely visual platform.
To us, Margaux is about so much more than the products we create, and Instagram provides us with the opportunity to give context to our vision and depth to our brand.. SP: We've learned that its key to plan ahead.
Now that were a bit more seasoned, we try to plan our content days, even weeks, in advance, allowing us to build broader narratives over longer periods of time, while still sharing everyday moments, launches, and events..

8 Karma laws which will completely change your life - Duration: 3:25.Life is like a box.
When you do something good, you put a good thing in the box.
When you do something wrong, you put a bad thing in the box.
The same goes for neutral things.
Karma is the strength of the Universe that treats things from the box.
Thus, the more you put good things in the box, the more Karma will treat the good things
of the box.
Karma is a complex thing that reacts according to our actions.
Here are 8 Karma laws.
If you take them to heart, they will profoundly change your life.
1.
The law of humility.
The law of humility says that you will never change anything if you refuse to accept it.
If we see our competitor as our enemy, then we are simply not concentrating on a higher
level of existence and we will not make any significant progress.
2.
The law of creation.
The law of creation affirms that life does not just happen, you must participate in it.
What surrounds us gives us clues about our inner state.
We are really the universe.
Remember that you must be yourself and surround yourself with what you want in life.
3.
The Law of Growth The law of growth says that if you want to
develop your mind, you need to change, not people and things around you.
If you want to grow your mind, it's inside of you, not outside.
When we change our heart, we change our world.
4.
The law of responsibility The law of responsibility says that there
is something wrong with your life, in fact, there is something wrong with you.
What surrounds us reflects us, and we reflect what surrounds us.
So in the end, for things to change, you have to change.
Logic, right?
You must take your responsibilities.
5.
The law of connection.
The law of connection confirms that even if two things do not seem connected, they are.
Everything is connected in the universe.
The left foot that climbs a step is connected to the right foot which will go up the next
step.
The past, the present the future are also all connected.
6.
The law of gift.
The law of gift shows that in life when you give, you receive.
If you do not give anything in this world, if you keep your arms crossed and your doors
locked, the doors you want to unlock will never unlock.
If you want an open, free and beautiful world, you must give yourself the means to make it
happen.
7.
The law of concentration.
The law of concentration says you can not think of two things at once.
Indeed, science confirms it, noting that you can think of only one thing and a half at
a time.
This is what allows us to dialogue.
You listen to what the person thinks, then half of your thinking is what you think when
they talk.
It makes sense to spend some time thinking before speaking, right?
8.
The law of presence.
The law of presence asserts that while it is important to look to the past to understand
where we are going, it is also important to exist in the present and not be too preoccupied
with the future.

I will always talk about you as if you were still alive - Duration: 2:37.I will always talk about you as if you were still alive
I always tell stories about you.
Sometimes I'm talking about you in the past: it was your favorite drink, it was the song
you liked to dance to, it was the type of car you liked to drive.
But sometimes, it escapes me and I talk about you in the present.
I always refer to your house as your house, even if someone else lives there now.
I'm still celebrating your birthday.
I always speak to you, even if my words are aimed at the sky instead of a phone.
I think part of me still thinks you're alive.
I think part of me refuses to accept that you're gone.
And it suits me.
But I hate the way people look at me when I talk about you as if they needed to find
a way to change the subject as if the pain was still too fresh in my mind as if it was
dangerous to me to say your name.
I do not want you to become a taboo subject, something that my friends avoid like the plague.
I want to continue telling stories about you.
I want to keep talking about you as if you were still alive.
I am not crazy.
I know you left.
I accept that you will not come back.
I passed the denial phase.
But I'm not going to tear up your photos and bury your memories in the back of my mind
because it hurts me to think about you.
Yes, there is pain associated with you, but there is also happiness.
I never want to forget you.
I never want to lose the moments we shared.
So, I'm sorry if my honesty makes others feel uncomfortable if they want me to refrain from
saying your name and talk about something lighter, but I'll never stop mentioning how
much you Make me laugh, how beautiful your smile is, how much your advice is still precious
to me today.
I got to the point where I can talk about you without bursting into tears, and even
if I end up crying, what can it do?
What then?
I am not ashamed to love you, that I miss you.
If others can not handle such emotion, if they avoid saying your name, that's their
problem.
I will not apologize for being human.
I will never forget you and I will never stop talking about you.
I love you, it does not matter if you're gone because I'll keep your memory alive.
I promise you.
