One of my favorite things to do

with high-performing clients

is to help them dream.

And help them dream bigger

than they've ever dreamed before.

And I work with high performers who

already come to me with big dreams.

I have a client right now who's raising

a hundred million dollars

to fund an X Prize.

It's a competition that is designed to

create the tools to retrain people in fields

that will be obsolete in less than a decade.

I work with high performers, but they come to me

and I help them dream bigger than

they've ever dreamed before.

And then I let them know

that the next morning they might wake up

with a possibility hangover.

You might be familiar with this

if you've ever worked with a coach

who pushes you and stretches you.

Because it's fun to dream big.

But that feeling the next morning of waking up

with the thought of oh my god,

what did I just share?

What did I put out into the world?

What happens if I don't achieve it?

What happens if I do achieve it?

And we get caught up in our thinking.

It's what I call a possibility hangover.

It can be as painful as an alcohol-related hangover,

but what I say is

if you have a high-performing client

and they don't on a regular basis

have a possibility hangover,

they're not dreaming big enough.
