Andy McGinlay is from Scotland and he's actually on YouTube as well his stuff is
here he's actually a really really interesting guy if you google his name
you'll find loads of stuff about him he's traveled all over the world to
far-flung destinations quite treacherous territory shall we say he's been to I
want to say Afghanistan and Iraq and Syria and he he's traveled a lot around
the Middle East and actually he's been living in Dubai we do the same job so we
are gonna be meeting shortly I hope I'm not too late
and I hope you enjoy this conversation between the two of us no idea what we're

hundred yep and yeah the channel I on my youtube channel it's all about showing
people the other side of the planet and you know how I get them what out of all
the countries you've been to give me three which are unique and which you can
give her like unique perspective on having been there I mean I don't want to
hear about Spain no offense if you're Spanish I don't want to hear about
Germany I love Germany but give me some countries where people watching have
probably not been too good question my favorite country is called ki rebus key
rebus on the map Wow say Kiribati carry bats on the pronunciation there's key
rebus because in this small country in the middle of the Pacific the T and the
I is the s scientist those key rebus in the middle of the Pacific yeah it's a
string of coral atolls right on the equator in the Pacific and the reason
why I chose this is because according to the UN rising sea levels will make this
the first country to disappear so there's a language a culture a
civilization artifacts and heritage that will disappear predicted in sixty years
ago so go there whilst you can folks that's that's bittersweet isn't it
because it's you you're clearly applying somewhat
different logic in your choice of countries to what most people would some
people would go oh I'm gonna go to Dubai because they've got the tallest building
the world and it looks like this but you've gone and what's going to happen
over the next 20 years well this this this so I need to go and
see these places before they go you sound like quite an ambitious person
well I think life would be boring if we didn't have ambition and or take risks

and language in connections in YouTube and being in a place like the UAE with a
population of 10 million and the ability to drive a car like you do which is a
