but what they will do is, these 4 pillars are in place,
no matter what plan you're following,
it will allow you to stay on track and keep you consistent.
Because there's no such thing as perfection
when it comes to trying to lose belly fat and live a lean,
healthy, lifestyle.
You have to strive just to be consistent.
So when you screw up, you got to get back up the next day,
dust yourself off, and start over again.
But first you must hold yourself accountable.
That's pillar number 1.
Now, I'm announcing this 30-day challenge to you publicly,
so I'm holding myself accountable.
Now I can't let my followers down.

You have to do the same thing.
Find some way to hold yourself accountable.
Find a workout partner.
Maybe you can text each other your meals.

Pillar number 2 is rewards, and every week you
must use this reward system to stay on track.
I learned a long time ago, when I started my career in 1998,
I actually placed first runner-up
in the world's largest body transformation contest
called Body For Life, with over 22,000 finishers
in that contest.
And the reason why is because every week, I had a reward.
I dangled a carrot.
I knew that on Saturday or Sunday, whatever day I chose
as my cheat day, I was going to be able to have my pizza
and ice cream.
So Karen and I, every week, we pick a weekend, or a weekday,
even, sometimes, where we're going to have a date night,
maybe a bowling night, maybe a golf night.
And we're going to indulge.
We're going to have some alcohol.
We're going to have some cheat food.
But it's only 1 time a week.
The rest of the time, we're going
to be on track, because we're dangling
that carrot every week.
And you have to do the same thing.
So when you wake up today, on a Monday,
set your reward ahead of time for every Saturday or Sunday,
so that you know you have that reward in front of you.
And that will change your behaviors during the week,
and allow, and help you to stay on track.
Number 3 is the deadline, 30-day challenge.
30 days from now, I have a deadline.
I'm going to get in front of a camera with my shirt off.
I'm going to take a picture.
And I'm going to post it publicly in front of everybody,
for all to see.
So that deadline is in place, and now that that's in place,
every time I go to eat, I know I have
to post publicly on Facebook.
So I'm being held accountable.
But I'm also thinking differently
about every meal and every workout,
because I know in 30 days, I have
to be in front of a camera.
So you can do the same thing with a birthday.
It could be an anniversary.
It could be a vacation.
But find some type of deadline, and put it in place.
And make it a hard deadline, and make a commitment
to that deadline.
The fourth, and the final key element
that you must have in place if you want to succeed with a body
transformation, this is the most important 1,
and that is, your big reason why.
You must find the source of your deepest emotional triggers
if you want to transform your body and your life.
Having the goals to lose weight, to look great naked when
you look in a mirror, to fit into those skinny jeans that
are hiding in the back corner of your closet,
these are all amazing and great goals,
but they'll never keep you going when the going gets tough.
You have to find a deeper, emotional reason.
For me personally, 46-year-old grandpa,
I find my grandkids to be my deepest source
of my emotional triggers.
I want more than anything to be alive as long
as I can to play with them, and have fun, and watch
them grow up.
I want to prepare a nest egg for them.
And I know my commitment to health and fitness
is what's going to allow me to be the best grandpa I can be.
I want to honor my body, because it's
the temple of the Holy Spirit.
I'm a Christian.
You might not be a Christian, but I am.
So that's a deep reason why I want to honor my body,
and take care of my body, because I honor my faith,
and I honor God.
So you must find your deepest emotional triggers,
and find your big reason why.
So those are the 4 key elements.
