Everyone knows NetEase released Minecraft China Edition to public on August,
But what are the main features in China Edition? And why many Chinese players hated that?
Stay tuned, and let's find out.
[Intro]
Last year, NetEase announced that they will promote Minecraft in China,
also, they said who purchased Minecraft Java Edition before will get a gift
(Actually just an activation code to the beta testing)
After 1 year, they finally released Minecraft (as 我的世界 wǒ de shì jiè) for Chinese.
"While keeping freemium, original game, We will do our best to provide a better experience
and open platform."
Illegal downloads are most likely removed.
PE version released after 1 month, HOWEVER, they removed iOS App Store's Minecraft PE
after that which is not illegal.
So that means which mystery gift or something is just a permanent skin.
Our $7 just wasted for no reason.
Before I launch China Edition, I gotta tell ya, it is only for Windows.
So that means I have to use that *Bleep* Boot Camp to load Windows.
[3x slowed Music]
Oh, and also 1 thing I need to mention.
From now on, if you access Minecraft.net in a Chinese IP address,
There will be a redirect link for the China Edition.
You can see, China Edition forces me to update the client,
which makes it unplayable when you are offline.
[Music]
It failed to check the update, so I can't launch the game now.
[Music]
[Laughter]
After logging, a big difference obviously showed on the screen.
In China Edition, a big news feed, huge pictures to activities, videos, suggested resources,
and you can't find play button easily just like the original.
We gonna launch the game, I think single player is quite boring so let's
launch Hypixel, which NetEase always use that server to promote
China Edition.
In fact, it is not just an IP address deal.
Each server has a standalone client, which makes your C drive's condition worse.
The client must be downloaded before launching the game.
While loading, I show you how they modified the client splash screen.
3 huge Chinese down below the Mojang logo, It means Loading…
However, they hide 1 thing, the Forge Mod Loader.
In the Minecraft directory, go to config, splash.properties,
you can see by default they set "enabled" to false.
As we know by default, you can see the Forge logo and loading information, however, they
just hide it without any reason.
After you entered the game, you will directly send to the target server.
And you may find it is plain Chinese, can I set it to English?
The answer is no because they completely removed Language settings.
Strike F3.
"Powered by Forge 11.15.1.0" "Optifine 1.8.9 HD"
"16 mods loaded, 16 mods active."
One of the most cringe things is that all players are Steve and Alex.
They running through the world, freely and happily
You can't set custom skins, you have to purchase them,
in fact, you have to rent them because They are only valid for 30 days.
So that means which mystery gift or something is just a permanent skin.
Our $7 just wasted for no reason.
Nah, sorry for that, NetEase.
[MrBeast smashes laptop]
Next thing: key word filter.
It turned dirty words to star star star and so on.
But one fun fact, when I tried to send Tiananmen on it,
It didn't get filtered.
Why I need to type Tiananmen?
Just Google it by yourself.
However, even I type Chinese president on it,
It turned into stars again.
Normal English dirty words will also be 'star-ed'.
Want to play Minecraft with your friends?
Can't find this GUI in China Edition?
Then fear not, the Chinese Realms is for you!
For ME?
[MrBeast smashes laptop]
Yes, you can't connect a server with an IP address because there's even no direct
connect button.
You can only join local LAN game (even it seems like Internet gaming room),
NetEase dedicated server or join the Realms.
The smallest server costs 3000 diamonds.
It has 10 persons limitation, and valid for 30 days.
You need top up diamonds by real cash.
So that proves the real prize is about 5 dollars.
So one question to NetEase.
You do not allowed us to build a server, and you only provides plugins you verified,
you are destroying Chinese modders and video producers.
Don't you know something like Blockbuster is very useful for Machinima making?
Last part, Modding.
Everyone understands that when we play Forge'd Minecraft,
we go to CurseForge, choose a mod we desired, and download it, drag it to Minecraft mods
folder.
And complete.
However, in China Edition, mods are not always free to download.
Some basic mods are free, for example, I am showing OptiFine, it is free.
Some gaming mods need to be purchased, like CustomSteve, LuckyBlock and so on.
Emeralds are used for purchasing the mods, Which you can only fetch it by daily logging
in.
Well that's about it.
How do you think about China Edition?
Let me know in the comments below.
I will make a China PE Edition video later, so if you don't want to miss my videos,
