but the first thing that you can do to make more money as a graphic designer
right now is to actually design a cool design that is either funny humorous or
it's just really neat and spread it all over social media now the trick here is
you can put down your link to your portfolio website and your work or even
maybe your email address or something like that but make sure the content is
absolutely shareable the idea is to make something interesting make something
funny make something that when people see on their newsfeed on Twitter or
Facebook for example they think wow this is really this is really cool never seen
this before and they share it to their friends basically you're getting free
advertising for you as a graphic designer
through a neat piece of design that could take you what 20 minutes to make
now this next tip on how to make more money as a graphic designer
is to update your bio on all social media accounts and also on your
portfolio website if you actually have one now what I mean by this is the
biography that explains who you are what you've done and what you can offer any
possible client in the future so go back into your biography that explains who
you are and we work it so it sounds the most illiterate and professional way
that it can do speak about your strong points speak about your achievements and
also just makes us up-to-date with who you are and who you are a graphic
designer
the next tip that you can do to make more money as a graphic designer right
now is try to mock up a kind of presentation or promotion for your work
so for example you might want to sell a bundle of like a logo design a business
card and website banner or for like a discount together now this could be
really handy for you boosting your graphic design income and for making
more customers come towards you but again you social media and use hashtags
to really really Drive this through social media and to reach as many people
as possible but you should make the initial image that you're gonna share
you know needs and design worthy so to speak because no one's gonna hire you as
a designer if the image they're looking at is poorly designed
the next tip I have for you today is to reach out to old previous clients you've
worked with and where the project went really well for both parties
ask them for referrals so you can put it on social media or once your port fit
new website and this is really gonna help because if you have referrals from
previous clients possible clients in the future can view this and they're gonna
have a lot of security and trust in you as a designer so just ask them kindly if
they can write a paragraph or two on the projects that you worked on together and
a little bit about yourself as a graphic designer
so the fifth point on how to mix more money as a graphic designer
right now is that you can actually design a kind of contact form to
possible clients so when you're actually cold hauling or when you're actually you
know emailing or messaging possible clients for work don't just send them a
message send them a nicely designed neat like kind of document that illustrates
who you are what you intend to do and has your logo and everything on it this
looks a lot more professional I know you need to do is make one copy of it save
it is like a PSD file and just go back in in the details of the client's name
and so forth this is a really good way to make yourself the profession of the
designer and to grab someone's attention
so the sixth and the final thing that you can do as a graphic designer
right now to make more money is to of course go back into your portfolio of
work either on social media or on your portfolio website and update it I've
been guilty of this myself I've let my portfolio stay the same for like a
couple of years which is an ideal at all because we changes people with time but
we also change designers as well our work improves our work style changes and
so forth and of course it's gonna be projects
that you're actually really really happy with that you've just recently completed
so item to your portfolio and update your portfolio of work so that was six

Hello, this is "Ask Michael show" where you ask your productivity questions and I answer them.
Let's go! Parasu is asking how do you share information in the team
if you don't email each other? Email is not really good for collaboration and
not for sharing information. Email is good to shake hands, to say "hi",
to initiate something but then you have to use modern tools to get stuff done.
So how do we do it? We use different tools. We use Nozbe of course where we have
shared projects, where we have tasks, where we communicate through tasks.
We put comments in the tasks. We delegate tasks to each other. So this is our
home, this is our base. Then second thing, we use other modern
tools like for example use Dropbox paper - for online documentation.
If somebody prepares documentation they prepare a paper document and other
people are commenting or adding things, so we collaborate on the
document per se and not keep emailing each other a document which is
ridiculous. We also use a little bit of Slack so we have this real-time chat in case we
want to just get to somebody quickly or "I don't know the thing" very quickly
and of course we use video conferencing with Zoom. This way we can
set up meetings and in these meetings we see each other, we use video. So there are
many many modern tools right now that are so much superior to email that email
is the last resort. We use email only to connect with the external
words but internally we have set up a set of tools that we use, based on nozbe
and then later other tools, to help us get stuff done better.

gday people how you going my name is Glenn and today I'm just gonna have a
little conversation about can you learn another language well when someone
generally ask that question I ask them can you speak a language
what's your first language can you speak it when they go oh my language is
Punjabi my language is mandarine my language is English I just say to him
well you already know one language why would it be hard to learn another
language see I speak English as my first language but I also can speak Cantonese
although I can't write it Cantonese issue might not know uses the Chinese
script so if you looking at a text in Chinese script it can be read in
actually a variety of languages English Mandarin Hakka for Kim and some other
hard languages but was it hard
mm-hmm-hmm yes it was at first it was hard at first because there was
some differences between these two languages like English has tense now you
should actually learn these tense but you shouldn't actually learn too much
grammar itself so this is a book on English grammar you should actually know
the basics know like a noun what a noun is what a verb what an
objective but I wouldn't learn stuff like future present tense or what a
gerund is Oh some other stuff you shouldn't learn that that's confusing
why should stick with is just learning the actual language itself if you want
to learn grammar I would learn grammar for your first language okay
so old lone grammar for English but not for Canton
because it would just get confusing in Cantonese so at first it was well bit
confusing because it as I said didn't have tents so you'd only have one word
for future the past or the present so instead of saying go going gone or to go
we just had high which means to go you need to put it in context how you use it
or hi-yah I go now in English we would say I'm going which
uses a tense for to go and depending on your language the grammar to you will be
easy but to other people who do not speak a language that is closely related
to it it will be hard the thing that I have problem with Graham Cantonese is
the tones there are six tones so if I can find it in here so these six tones
mean that a single pronunciation depending on the tone tonight or the
pitch can be represent six different words so here we have tones we have high
high falling this is mid we don't worry about the mid
pricing because that's that's actually you know no you don't know that's
actually integrated into the high tone and then there is low rising low falling
and low so there's six tones and if you can see here we have this is si si si si
si see see so to people who actually don't
have tones dos six times actually well they sound the same just like I mean go
go go go go go that just means go but in these ones
they all actually mean a different word and this is what I have I actually have
problem distinguishing between the six tones and the actual how to pronounce
them so it will be hard at start but you will as you learn the language you will
pick it up you'll become easier and easier and easier and you'll be able to
learn a lot faster as you go along as you actually you need to practice
everyday they say about ten minutes which I reckon is pretty good and you
need to keep at it also you need to use a variety of sources that are actually
fun so if you're using a source that is not fun so you're watching a TV program
but you don't like it well you're not really going alone much because you're
not really into it you don't really like it it's like going to university and
doing a subject you don't like you're gonna do badda t no they should put a
lot of effort into it and then it might affect your other subjects so can you
learn another language yes with effort you can at the start all really hard
just persist and over time you will get better because we feel first language
whatever language that is when you're a child you actually found it hard you
kept on making lots of mistakes for the first well probably the first at least
15 years up until you're like at least 20 so probably at least eighteen years
cuz 1918-19 depends when you first start speaking so
you'll continue to make mistakes and as you get more knowledge get more
education your use of the language will improve and you'll be able to speak like
me a decade now just joking you'll be able to speak and understand University
literature like I can understand University lecture associated without
geology and paleontology not maths and physics that seems a bit different I
actually haven't learned any of that archeology is quite easy it's quite
standard pretty basic and you would just get better so I hope this helps
and if you actually find it hard to
learn something just ask for help help if someone knows if you don't know
anyone who knows that you want to help with reach out someone you don't know
maybe they will help you maybe not but just do that and just persist people
languages are awesome there's about six or seven thousand on this planet and in
1000 years they would have been ball into another language so keep up
language learning and have an awesome time people
