with my What Would Jeff Do? Dog training tip of the day,

tip number 109.

As soon as you identify a behavior is unwanted,

or dangerous, which is synonymous,

you deliver your punisher then, firm and fair.

Don't wait until the second time or the third time,

or hope that it goes away.

As soon as you identify that it's an unwanted behavior,

you deliver the punisher then.

The chances of that behavior reoccurring

dramatically go down.

That's why with puppies, puppy biting,

I know they're teething, it doesn't matter.

You don't have to teeth on my hands or my clothes.

Jumping, you don't get a free pass for any age.

You immediately deliver the punisher.

I say this because most people,

getting a dog to obedience training

with obedience commands with rewards,

that's very easy to do.

Everybody can do it.

But it's the stopping of unwanted behaviors

that everybody struggles with.

And that's why a lot of my videos

are geared towards punishment.

People are like why does this guy talk

about punishment all the time?

Because that's how you stop an unwanted behavior.

So the beginning of the sequence, always remember that.

The first time.

Don't try to be like well, maybe the age, the past,

the history, well.

Nope, deliver it firm and fair.
