How do you help us in our meditation (from Conversations with Shri Babaji') - Duration: 1:28.

If you can develop that devotion and total faith

then you can receive our vibrations

and our grace in your meditations also.

So, just like, the broadcasting is always there.

Even here also, the television waves, the radio waves are always there.

So if there is a good receiver, you can receive that picture of the television

or a good receiver in the radio. In the same way, a Yogi's vibrations

are always flowing.

If you can become devoted with love and attachment and a reverence

and if you can develop faith, so then you can receive it,

your mind becomes receptive and gains in your meditation.

That is how we will be able to help you

because that is why faith is always taught, I repeatedly keep telling

everywhere that I go, even if you don't like me or you get annoyed with me,

don't get annoyed with my photo.

Because that is your faith.

Even Ramakrishna Paramahansa used to tell if you all have read his scriptures,

it is the faith in the name of the lord that can work wonders for you.

Not so squeaky clean after all Rubber ducks and other bath toys found to be riddled - Duration: 4:38.

Not so squeaky clean after all Rubber ducks and other bath toys found to be riddled with

harmful bacteria

by: Jessica Dolores

Remember that catchy song in Sesame Street that partly goes, Rubber duckie, joy of

joys/ When I squeeze you, you make noise?

That line from the longtime kiddie show that parents also watch may not hold water, after

all.

A team of researchers from Eawag, ETH Zurich and the University of Illinois found that

flexible plastic bath toys like rubber ducks harbor microbial growth in their inner surfaces.

A child who squeals with delight when he squeezes the toy releases an unhealthy liquid.

Add this to shower curtains and areas behind bathroom cabinets with heavy growths of bacteria

and fungi, and you get a scene straight out of those movies that make you cringe in fear.

In the study, researchers conducted controlled experiments with new bath toys for more than

11 weeks.

Some toys were exposed to clean water while others to a dirtier variety (including additional

chemicals from soap, human body fluids, and bacteria).

The bath toys were then bisected and examined in the laboratory.

The findings were alarming.

Between five and 75 million microbial cells lived in every square centimeter of the bath

toys inner surfaces.

Fungi were seen in nearly 60 percent of bath toys and in all the dirty-water control toys.

The scientists detected bacteria that could cause disease in 80 percent of the toys studied.

These bacteria included Legionella and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, which are often linked to infections

acquired from hospitals.

Frederik Hammes, who supervised the research, says the findings for the doctoral paper add

points of discussion to what has been taken up in online forums and blogs.

He said that moldy bath toys, the topic of discussion in these platforms, have received

scant scientific attention.

He added that it is the children who love squirting water from bath toys on their faces

are the most exposed to contaminants from these plastic playthings.

Hammes observed that while the microbes can boost the childs immune system, they can

also cause eye, ear, and gastrointestinal infections.

So should you throw that colorful rubber duck away, or clean it carefully after the child

has played with it?

Or as often discussed online should you close the hole on the rubber duck immediately

to keep it from squirting?

Hammes suggests tighter rules on polymeric materials used in bath toys.

This works for problematic chemicals.

The release of carbon should also be considered.

Keeping those toys safe Meanwhile, how do you prevent that terrifying

scenario of germs and poisons wreaking havoc on your childs mind and body?

Here are some tips for choosing childrens toys:

Painted toys must have lead-free paint.

Art materials like crayons and colored pencils should be non-toxic.

Crayons and paints should bear the label ASTM D-4236.

This is a sign that the toys have been examined by the American Society for Testing and Materials.

Avoid older toys, even hand-me-downs from family and friends.

They may be dangerous because they may not meet current safety standards.

They can also be worn from too much play, and can unexpectedly break down.

Dont buy toys with little parts the child may accidentally swallow, like small, shiny

buttons.

Pick a toy thats not too loud for the childs sensitive ears.

Noise from some rattles, squeak toys, musical or electronic toys, and others can be as loud

as a car horn if the child points them directly to their ears.

These can damage their developing ears.

Toys are great for making a childs life even more fun.

But they should be safe.

A childs body is still underdeveloped, and is most vulnerable to germs and bacteria

that could bring illness.Thats why we should choose toys wisely.

The choices we make today can create a big impact on our childs health tomorrow.

Why you should breathe - Duration: 0:47.

I teach a lot of classes and so I'm watching the body language of the people

in the audience and the fascinating thing is when I start to teach them

things that might take them out of their comfort zone I watch people hold

their breath we tend to hold our breath if we're worried or feeling

uncomfortable so the next time you're in a situation where you might be anxious

or nervous check in with your breathing and make sure you keep breathing it

actually helps the energy flow through you so you won't feel as nervous it's a

good idea to breathe

SHOULD YOU GO TO YORK UNIVERSITY?!? (STRIKE UPDATE) - Duration: 6:52.

what scoochie fam what up what up what up

hope you guys been having a great week hope you guys missed me cuz I miss you

and yo you already know what day it is it is Friday and we back at it with a

new video as we know York University has been on strike for 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 weeks

now and York U has done little to nothing to bring themselves to the

bargaining table once again will the strike and anytime soon I'm gonna be

honest I'm not sure however y'all are here for a reason as you can tell by the

title today we are going to be talking about whether you should consider York

University the almighty York University as your decision for your academic

studies but before we start that make sure you subscribe to the channel man we

trying to hit 200 subscribers we're still at 170 something but yo let's hit

200 let's hit that so for myself I went to York University for a few reasons

the reason is like I got accepted everywhere I applied thing that I went

to York University for a couple of reasons I'm going to talk about why I

went to York University why I considered it over other

universities first of all when I went to York I went on the campus for a few

hours and I honestly liked it I like the diversity and I like the environment

that I was in it was really fun like there was always stuff going on on

campus the school spirit was crazy so I felt good being there and I felt like it

was a city within a city so it was like home away from home you know I'm saying

it was it was cool and when I was there I'm like oh I really want to go here and

I felt like I could see myself on this campus the other thing was it was

convenient for me it was like two busses like 40 minutes it was the closest to me

and I was able to build friendships that will probably last a lifetime and that

was through frosh frosh was amazing York's crush I would say is like the

best brush ever and I met all my friends through brush literally every

when I talk to right now is through frosh and then another cool thing was

like York has a lot of programs so if you're looking for diversity in programs

and all that or like not specialize in the Syrian thing like view there's

hundreds of programs to choose from they have a lot of programs which allows

people from like all different backgrounds and all different interests

to come to one school and unites like York University which is hella dope the

other thing is now York University has a subway going through campus so who ever

like travels to York it's hella convenient instead of taking so many

buses you can just subway there I'd honestly say it's a great campus it's a

great schools but as I said like every University can improve on some things I

feel like we should talk about that don't get me wrong York is at an

excellent school but they do need to improve on a certain things just like

any university should you know what I'm saying so yo first of all this one is

probably crazy York's parking situation or parking York's parking thing is like

a million dollar business for them because their parking is so strict they

give so many tickets out like it's crazy like you can't park lots at school and

it's so expensive the reason is because us to us we praise so much in tuition

and you guys are gonna charge us an arm and a leg for parking for the whole day

it's like twenty bucks but if you have school four or five days a week and you

live far from campus twenty bucks today adds up that pisses me off and I feel

like you're working to change that ASAP dog the thing is Wi-Fi is frikin

they've improved it over the years but I remember two years ago specifically for

the first month I couldn't connect to Wi-Fi your University every student has

a laptop almost every student and the Wi-Fi is like people need the internet

to do work and all that like they should be ready for stuff like this like they

have sixty something thousand students which are on campus at this

another thing is there is barely any studying spaces at your like there Scott

library okay but the thing about Scott library you like if you're trying to get

a seat you got a camp out there or you gotta

wait til s past 7:00 because the library there is so freakin busy like there's no

room like they're building a student center of what after like four or five

years of like me being there like it's crazy like and this issue's been there

since thousand first year I took on four years to plan all this and all this

should have planned this way ahead of time New York is great but there's just

these little things that affect students in a big way another thing is like

during my undergraduate degree I had been to through two strikes

honestly this is quite shocking to me because it's the 8th week and I'm still

on strike and I do not know what is gonna happen this just comes to show

that they are not offering something that is reasonable to these teas and

contract faculty they need to do something they need to like come back to

the table and they're not even coming back to the table which is crazy to me

another thing is like I go through this and a lot of my friends go through this

I go to academic advice wider academic advising to make sure I'm on track the

thing about academic advising or is that they're rude as hell they're rude I go

there for help and they give me attitude they treat me like I'm some idiot I kid

you not when I'm sitting there I'm sweating thinking like all these people

gonna make me look like an idiot and most of the time they do honestly if I'm

going to academic advising I need people to be encouraging showing me the way

like helping me out if you're gonna have academic advisor hire someone that's

good hire someone that wants to help students not someone who's gonna sit in

their office on the computer all day and you can see one student a day and not do

shit after that if academic advising isn't helping if their route to students

what's the point of having academic advisors but the other thing is delayed

graduation like I got an email two days ago and they're like oh if you're

looking at graduate in June we invite you to the October graduation what are

you stupid I honestly don't know what's going on with the graduation or with the

strike all I know is shit's not progressing let's

let's see boy I'm gonna end the video with saying I chose York because I felt

comfortable there I seen myself there is it a good school hell yeah could they

improve on a lot of things hell yeah so should you go to York University I'm

gonna say yeah as I'm graduating now there has been a lot of things I've seen

within my undergraduate degree which I do wish they improve on which I've said

in this video what you should do going into university you should go wherever

you feel comfortable the major thing like strikes happen and all that like

this stuff is normal well it's not quite normal but haha but just go wherever you

feel comfortable that's what I advise that's what I did and I was happy with

my decision like York's an awesome school just like everyone they do better

improve on a few things but yo I hope you guys enjoy this video give it a

thumbs up then yo we trying to hit 200 subscribers hopefully we can hit that

soon and I'd appreciate it so hit that subscribe button while I'm saying this I

hope you guys enjoyed this video I'll see you guys in the next video peace

deuces

Do You Have Neck Problems? - Duration: 8:12.

Do You Have Neck Problems?

Neck problems are very common and mostly due to sedentary lifestyle, bad posture, and sharp movements.

In this article, well show you how to prevent and treat them!.

Surely its happened to you–that you couldnt move your neck or had a lot of pain in the bones in the back of your neck, caused by either a strong injury or your daily activities.

Not only can you treat these problems, but you can also avoid them.

Have a look at these common problems related to the cervical vertebrae and keep in mind the following simple tips.

Location of the cervical vertebrae.

First of all, you should know that the cervical vertebrae refer to the seven vertebrae that are located at the top of the spinal column, that is, the vertebrae in your neck.

Each one of these small bones is connected to others through joints.

The distance in between these is called the intervertebral disc.

These bones are the smallest bones in that area of your body and can move thanks to ligaments.

These bones are incredibly important because they are the bones that allow for head movements, and also that keep the head supported.

Pain in the cervical vertebrae can be based in the zone around the back of the neck, but it can also spread to the back or the shoulders, since the whole system is interconnected.

This pain can limit the function of these bones and vertebrae, and prevent you from moving them correctly.

Basically, it can prevent you from turning your head to one side or the other, or give out if you try to move it.

In these cases, which are much more serious, the pain will show up along with tingling, numbness, dizziness, or headaches.

What are the causes of cervical vertebrae pain?.

The majority of these problems arise due to poor movement of the head, neck, or back.

The most frequent reasons for cervical vertebrae pain are:.

Bad posture while reading or watching television.

Keeping a computer screen either too high or too low.

Sleeping uncomfortably, with a defective mattress or pillow.

Bending over to pick something up off the floor too quickly.

Twisting or turning your neck too quickly while doing exercise.

Bad posture while walking or using the computer, such as rounding your shoulders or back forward.

Keeping a lot of tension in your neck.

A sedentary lifestyle.

Injuries to the area.

Spending many hours sitting or staying in a bad position for prolonged periods.

Obesity. Osteoarthritis in the neck.

Muscle weakness.

Chronic untreated problems in the neck, shoulders, or back.

Depression, stress, or anxiety.

How to treat pain in the cervical vertebrae.

If you tend to suffer from pains in your neck, shoulders, or back, its very important that you be careful when you are sitting, walking, or sleeping.

Correct posture is essential to keeping the health of your spinal column in good condition.

Always make sure that your spinal column is in balance, and aligned with gravity, so that it runs in a straight line from your head to your feet.

Make sure, whenever youre sitting, that you dont curve your back, you arent bending your neck forward, and that your shoulders arent pressed forward, because doing any of these could generate a lot of tension in that area.

The best posture is to press your abdomen inward, towards your back, and allow your shoulders to lightly fall downward, in a natural movement without force.

Another alternative is to balance a book on your head (if it weighs a bit more, better), and dont allow it to fall.

You can walk for a few minutes and pay attention to how your body feels, and try to emulate that position when walking or lying down.

If your cervical vertebrae pain is caused by emotional problems, which can cause there to be tension in your neck, try to take things more calmly, analyze situations with a clear mind, and dont dwell on your problems too much.

If your nerves still bother you, try to find activities that calm you down, such as yoga or meditation.

This can calm your emotions and relax your entire body.

How to treat problems in the cervical vertebrae.

There are some treatments that you can try at home to alleviate the pain in your cervical vertebrae:.

Apply heat or ice to the area.

Ideally, you should apply the cold first (for the three days after the pain starts) and then heat, either through showers or heating pads.

Never sleep with a heating pad, in order to avoid burning yourself.

Avoid harsh physical activity, so that you can calm your symptoms and reduce inflammation.

Move the zone slowly, to each side, up and down, in small circles, touching the ear to the shoulder, etc.

All of these movements will serve to wake up your muscles and eliminate tension and pain.

Try seeing a massage therapist.

Sleep on a more firm and hard mattress (if you cant change mattresses, you could put a slab of wood underneath) and use a pillow made especially for the neck (which will have specific curves for your neck).

ASR Monthly Summary - April 2018 - Duration: 1:52.

Well, hello everyone. I can't believe it's almost the end of

spring term, and I have a few highlights.

First of all, we are reviewing the engagement survey results,

and one of the things I want you to think about

is how you want to be recognized. We are going to

actually collect that from all of you folks later on,

so if you can start thinking about that now,

that would be appreciated.

The other area is, our values are completed.

That was in News & Notes, and we are actually

really diving in now to our vision tracker,

as well as our strategic plans. So you will be hearing more

about that in the coming weeks.

We are also currently looking at our staff development event.

It's right around the corner, and this is part of your job.

So I want everyone to take time to meet additional colleagues

across other units, spend time getting questions answered

regarding work items, and really also take the time

to really enjoy the event. The development team has done

a great job putting that together. I'm very excited for

that to come up. And then finally

I want to just thank Ted Skogman after his 42 years of service.

He will be retiring soon. And a lot of times

we have staff that just want to ride off into the sunset,

but Ted has made a large impact on many of us across

the institution. When I talked with Bob McMaster, he said,

"Ted, the fee guy? Wow! He's too young to retire."

So anyway, thank you.

And thanks to all of you for everything you do.

Do You Dare to Question Authority? - Duration: 4:04.

There are many words that human beings use

to describe the indescribable.

And I'm sure you have your word to describe that.

Maybe you grew up hearing a certain word.

Maybe you grew up with certain beliefs.

Maybe you grew up with no beliefs at all.

And maybe you don't even have any

strong beliefs about it right now.

But there's no way that any external person or organization

can ever have a monopoly on your personal experience

of something that defies description.

Whether you choose to call that God or Source Energy

or Infinite Intelligence or maybe you're taking a more

of a quantum approach and looking at the quantum field.

This is not a video about what's right and wrong.

It's just a reminder of what's right for you.

And while human beings as individuals,

we can be incredibly intelligent,

groups of human beings, not always the case.

So this is just a reminder that the connection that you have

with this infinite power, whatever force it is that

keeps the planet spinning and keeps the seasons turning.

Those natural forces that are beyond our ability to

comprehend, you have a personal relationship with that.

And there isn't really anybody outside of you whose

qualified to tell you what that relationship could be.

And if you've been taught to fear that force

or if you've been taught that that force operates on certain

conditions, you have a choice to look at that as a belief

rather than an absolute truth.

I'm not saying that I'm speaking the truth

or teaching the truth.

I stopped asking what's true a long time ago

and I just started asking, what's useful?

And it didn't seem particularly useful to me

that all of this was somehow created by a force

that got it's feelings hurt really easily.

And that you're given free-will choice

as long as you make the right choice

you'll be rewarded.

That always seemed to me like a fantastic tool of control

and conformity rather than honoring the individuality

of the human spirit.

So whatever your faith is, and where if you have

no faith at all, what you do have is the ability to choose.

You have the ability to think for yourself.

The ability to think your own thoughts and feel your

own feelings and honor those feelings as they unfold.

And perhaps in the unfolding of those feelings

and in the progression of your own personal journey

maybe you will feel something,

maybe you will find something that defies description.

You have the ability right now to feel for yourself

and decide for yourself what's working for you.

And if you choose to be part of a group,

part of an organization, part of a congregation,

why not do it as a fully self-authorized individual

committing to giving and growing and gaining.

And why not allow yourself the luxury

of questioning authority from time to time.
