In this video, we're going to talk about the four types of listening. Years ago,

I thought all listening was the same, but it's not. So let's get into the details.

Hello there friends. Welcome back. And if this is the first time you're tuning in

to this channel, Communication Coach is here to help people probably like you,

rising leaders, to help you increase your impact so you can lead the people around

you to higher levels of excellence. I believe that good communication and

leadership change lives. And a big part of that is listening. So we're going to

talk about the four types listening. As we do, I would love to hear your

comments in that section below the video. Which type of listening do you want to

work on the most? The first type of listening is called appreciative

listening. This is where you're listening simply to appreciate. If you're listening

to music or poetry, some kind of inspirational message, you're listening

to appreciate what you're hearing. there's no pressure on you. This is for

your benefit. And I have to admit that I don't do enough appreciative listening. I

really do need to do more. I think there's a kind of therapeutic value in

listening for appreciation. The second type of listening is called

comprehensive listening. Some people call it informational listening. This is where

you're listening to comprehend, to learn, to absorb the kind of content that you

are listening to so that you can learn something. Anytime you're listening to a

coach a teacher an instructor of any kind, you're listening to comprehend and

learn. One of the key parts of this listening is being able to separate the

main ideas from the sub points from the details. Sometimes that's a challenge. I

know that when I was in college, I was listening to this college professor.

I remember this was a long night it's like a Tuesday night class for three hours. And

it went on and on and I had a lot of trouble figuring out like what are the

main ideas here. It seems like a constant flow of detail but by working a little

harder at it, taking notes a bit differently, I was able to listen to

comprehend much more effectively by separating the main points from the sub

points from the details. A third type is called empathetic listening. This is

where we're listening essentially to empathize. If we're

listening to a friend or for listening as like a therapist, this is the way

we'll be listening. We were listening to connect. We're listening for people's

emotions. This is the kind of listening that I do a lot for example in my

marriage. When I'm talking to my wife, we're often talking about family issues

or relationship issues and you have to be able to tune into the main point that

the person is feeling, not (mainly) any content or details, necessarily. All those those

could be important. You really want to connect with what the person is feeling.

And that is a challenge for me. I am not built this way. I'm not like a therapist

or a counselor and so we do have to when we're talking with friends

and talking to our significant others, we have to connect with their emotions. this

is a big challenge. Not everybody's naturally good at this. I will say this,

though. There's an old expression that if you want more friends or if you want

deeper friendships, learn how to listen more effectively. And I believe that

is a trustworthy expression. I have found it true. The better I listen the better

my relationships are. And the fourth type of listening is called critical

listening. This is where we're listening to criticize, essentially, to scrutinize a

message, to pick it apart. We often have to listen critically when somebody is

trying to sell us something or get us to do something or get our vote for some

reason. this is where people might have a motivation to only tell their side of

the story to be very persuasive. And so it's much more important that we listen

critically. So what are they saying? What are they not saying? What's their central

argument? How are they supporting their argument with details? You have to be

able to pick it apart a little bit and have a heightened sense of attention to

the things that matter the most in that message. Otherwise people are going to

take you for a fool, try to separate you from your money, and so forth. So these

are the four types of listening. As I mentioned, I would love to hear your

comments in that section below. Which one do you need the most work on? Can't wait

to look at your comments down below. So, thanks. God bless. And I will see you in

the next video.

Threshold Effect in Photoshop (Lesson 38) - Duration: 4:34.

Hello viewers!

I am Rakib.

In this lesson, I will show you how to apply Threshold Effect in Photoshop

and will also show you some other adjustments that you can make to the images

using Adjustment layers. So, keep watching.

To apply Threshold effect first we have to select our subject.

To do that, we will select Quick selection tool from here and will make the selection.

So after that we will click here to add layer mask and we will click here and select Threshold.

So this is the Threshold effect and now we can use this slider to customize it.

We can drag right to add more details and we can drag left to get rid of these noise

and make it more smooth.

In this case, I will keep it in this position

and now we will remove all the white color

to set a uniform background color behind.

To remove this white color first we will right click here and select merge down

to apply this Threshold effect permanently and after that we will select the background eraser tool

and click here once and will drag like this to remove all the white colors.

So all that remaining is the black color and now we can click here and select solid color

to add a solid color background.

We can pick a gray color from here using this color picker and we will hit OK.

We will drag it below.

So this is the background and anytime you can double click here and change the color

from this color picker.

We can also click here and select the Gradient and we can pick any of the preset from here.

I will select this one and also you can select any style.

I will select the Radial

and Reverse.

So this is the Gradient that we will be applying here,

we will click OK.

And now we will decrease the Opacity.

After that we can also add pattern from here.

We can select any pattern from here and we can click here to get all the categories here.

Not all categories are shown here,

some are outside this screen. I am sorry for that.

But you can pick any of the category from here.

I will select this one and click OK.

We can also double click here to change the pattern any time.

So that's how you can make this kind of adjustments to your images.

And let's see another photo effect which is Posterize.

And to apply that we will click here and select Posterize.

This is the effect and we can change the Level from here.

I think this one is looking good.

That's the before and after.

So that's all for this lesson and with this lesson we have completed chapter-5

which was Image Adjustments

and from the next chapter we will discuss about Filter effects.

So stay connected subscribing to this channel and thanks for watching.

Hope to see you in the next chapter.

3 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About The Great Khali | WWE NEWS HD - Duration: 5:36.

Three things WWE wants you to forget about the great khali

Perhaps he had an annulment

Please watch like and subscribe to our channel, okay

Let's start the great khali is back

First the Punjabi prison and now this and to think people are saying battleground was a terrible show

Sure if you judge it on the whole and not the last sixty seconds in an organization

Which now features AJ Styles Shinsuke?

Nakamura Kevin Owens finn bálor and samoa joe in prominent positions

It was surely only in our wildest

Fantasies that we'd once again see the 7-foot punjabi titan lumber down the aisle to play a part in a WWE

main event in

2017 but in the age of fake news

literally anything can happen and this actually did

It's worth remembering that the last time we saw Holly. It was at the tail end of half a decade spent as light relief

Emphasis on light a few furlongs short of the dominant monster. He was upon arrival yet last night

he won't start like the olden day maharaja all anger and gurning not a piccolo in sight if

Kali is to play any further role in this ongoing Jinder Mahal

experiment

WWE will be hoping fans have selective memories

They certainly won't be rushing to remind us of these highlights of the hymen

Three the snake-charmer match WWE

When the great khali waddled down the ramp to confront Randy

Orton at battleground one half expected him to whip out his punch a stop sniggering at the back

It's a type of flute and charm the Viper down from the cage

Alas he simply throttled him instead

WWE probably aren't keen to remind us of this gentle comedy so long as Khali is interfering with main events

According to Moliere the duty of comedy is to correct men by amusing them quite what he'd have made of Pelle attempting to hypnotize

Santino marella schoo bruh during the middle of a matches anyone's guess in principle

It was quite an amusing if possibly insulting skit in

Execution it simply put the fans to sleep

attempts at dancing

Brodus Clay

Camilla Mabel although he managed the rare first inversion by being a hilarious wobbly dancer first

Even Cain couldn't resist a little jig courtesy of Santino turns out Gloria Estefan was right

So it was absolutely no surprise whatsoever

To see Khali a man apparently designed to end the Undertaker shift attention away from plundering - philandering

With a bit of dancing here, and there as the self-styled Punjabi playboy

Khali played the regrettably frequent yet rarely hilarious lothario not Jose the added twist being that he was Indian

the colossal Casanova snatched a weekly kiss to the delight of all but one person involved shacking up with Natalya in

Reminder to all stick to making war not love

One the brian ong incident

Title match wrestling pro wrestlers do everything in their power to protect their opponents in the ring

It's utterly paramount to the profession

But occasionally things go awry and sadly sometimes it results in tragedy

One can't even begin to imagine the anguish dalip Singh endured after

Inadvertedly causing the death of fellow trainee Brian Ong back in 2001 so we're not here to point fingers

But it's eminently

understandable, why many had concerns with his WWE arrival and why the company have naturally been keen to sweep the incident under the

rug

Whilst sparring in all pro wrestling's boot camp long suffered fatal head injuries after being on the receiving end of a flapjack

From the Great Khali long who had endured a previous concussion had been sent back to the ring on the misguided belief

That he was medically fine to continue a decision which ultimately ended his life

But one which only filled a fraction of the hole left by Ong his passing

How to Stop Scratch and Crack When You Sing - Duration: 5:48.

This video is about How to Stop Scratch and Crack When You Sing.

Singing with a scratch and crack when you sing is frustrating.

Especially when you can't control it.

If you suddenly crack when singing, it's embarrassing.

If your voice is scratchy it can ruin the smooth delivery you're hoping for.

Inside this video I'll give you a way to solve this problem so your singing is consistent

and predictable.

Hi, I'm Chuck Gilmore with Power To Sing.

Scratch and Crack sounds like a couple of bandits don't they?

If they create havoc and uncertainty with your singing they are bandits.

Bandits who steal your confidence and diminish your great performance.

There may be other ways to stop scratch and crack when you sing.

If scratch and crack is caused by colds, viruses, flu, allergies, reflux and other illnesses,

your only resort may be to get well before you sing.

But what about when you have scratch and crack when you're healthy?

This is when you feel fine but suddenly as you start singing, it starts to be scratchy.

Perhaps you're singing the high note and you suddenly crack.

This is often caused by the rising larynx.

When the larynx starts moving higher, a scratchy sound or a sudden break can start without

any warning.

It's frustrating and can be embarrassing.

Here's one exercise that I've used many times to stop scratch and crack.

It's called the "dopey gee".

Put your hand on your Adam's Apple (which is the top of your larynx) and say "duh".

The larynx probably doesn't move.

Now say it again, this time adding a cartoon character "dumb" or "dopey" sound

to the "duh".

[demo]

With the dumb sound, the larynx should move lower as you say the "duh".

Does it?

If not, you aren't adding enough dopey sound.

Exaggerate the dopey sound.

[Demo]

Now say "gee" with the same dopey sound.

[Demo] You can remove the scratch and crack with this "dopey gee".

If you're singing and the scratch starts happening, use the dopey gee instead of the

words.

For example, I'm currently performing in Camelot and have a solo toward the end of

the show.

Suppose it sounded like this [Demo scratchy].

To remove that I'll use the dopey gee instead of the words.

This will lower the larynx.

[Demo] After doing that several times, now I'll just use dopey words to see if I can

keep the scratch out of my voice.

[Demo] Notice it's almost completely gone.

The same can be done with the crack.

Now use the dopey gee instead.

[Demo] If it holds without cracking, I'll use dopey words.

[Demo]

Once it is holding I'll gradually take away the dopey sound.

Now I can do it without scratch but this time without the imposed larynx...just my normal

voice.

The larynx is staying down which takes the scratch and crack away.

If you liked this video give it a thumbs up, subscribe and share it with a friend.

Have you ever had scratch and crack in your singing voice?

Let me know in the comments section below.

Also lets get social on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram @powertosing.

The rising larynx is common with certain vocal types.

Do you know your vocal type?

Your vocal type is what your voice tends to do when you sing from low to high notes through

your first bridge.

To discover your vocal type I've prepared a free PDF titled, "Get Your Vocal Type".

It contains links to a Vocal Test which I call the PowerTest where you can take a quiz

and get your vocal type.

Also this PDF contains links to videos about your vocal type with free exercises you can

download and practice.

It's in the description area below or you can click the small "i" in the upper left

corner of this video.

Stress, is it what you think? - Duration: 27:28.

Good morning everyone and welcome to today's presentation. and I always say

when I start my talks, usually, that today is the first day of the rest of your

life and that's because it is and it's your choice what you do with it. I like

to have it with ease and not dis-ease. Today we're gonna have a look at

what stress is and really, is it what you think? You probably have a whole

bunch of ideas of what stress is for you. First we're going to have a look at what

you think it is and then we're going to have a look at where it comes from and

so what it really is and then I'm going to give you a gift and that's what you

can do about it once you figured out what it is. Anybody here not like gifts

That's good because otherwise I was going to say when we get to

that point you're welcome to leave. So tell me what do you think stress is? Lack

of clarity, too many things to fit in one day, yeah, feeling like a coiled spring, that's the symptom, lack of focus, things not doing what you expect them to, not working, yeah

GDPR, Health and Safety. So for many people the'll say it's they've got too much work

but for some people it might be they haven't got enough work and they're

bored and they actually love a challenge and they're they're sitting there in an

office with really nothing to do and that can stress people out. Time pressure

we've mentioned, relationship issues, as I mentioned earlier, it can be the children

the parents, money, many people think it's not having enough money, but for some

people it's having too much money and not knowing where to invest it, what's

the right place to put it and is it going to work, is it gonna do what I need

it to do. find an adviser but can you trust that adviser to give you the right advice. yes in Alice's case and so

on, so these are all outside things that people think causes them stress. so what

solutions might you have for all those things? How do you deal with your

stress what do you do? Keep fit,

delegate, good one, burying your head in the sand, outsource, yes, write a list, so a lot of

these things fits in these categories some of them don't but... we need more time

so we have these time management strategies and how to fit all this stuff

into the time that we've got, because you can't have more time. We've all got 24

hours in some cases 50 days so what is it that we're putting into that time.

We might think oh I'm gonna need to put more effort into it you need to you know

get these things sorted and you know exercise can be a one that I'm not

saying it's a bad thing but that's really implies we need to put some

effort into something to fix it, might need to throw money at it, you need some

more energy when you think about all these things does it make you more

stressed or less stressed? more stressed, thank you. we need to be more

rational, however stress is an emotion and you

cannot rationalize an emotion. Maybe you need more information to figure out how

to deal with this thing called stress, but I am going to give you a bit of

information but it's making sure you've got the right information. And actually

when we are in the era where we can get all the information that we want at

our fingertips with technology and yet stress has become the norm that doesn't

make it normal. So getting more information hasn't made

us any less stressed. so what's going on Einstein said "Insanity is doing

the same thing over and over again expecting a different result" and that's

what's been happening with stress this is what I noticed in my journey. When I

started in 1993 what I was dealing with was repetitive strain injury it was the

thing of the day. Every era has its disease or syndrome, symptom ans so I

treated lots of people with RSI. I had very good results and as time went on and

RSI wasn't the thing anymore but I was still getting all these symptoms. By 2016

I realize I'm still getting people with headaches and back pains, depression

anxiety, panic attacks, breathing issues asthma, etc etc... I thought it all

boils down to the same thing: STRESS they're all just symptoms of their

stress and the body is reflecting it in a different way depending on how they

are processing that information. Every disease has its particular pattern

that's what I call disease language. So I call it repetitive stress injury now and

that's what I deal with. and I see it walking around in the shops and I call

it Spending Time Repeatedly Exaggerating Small Stuff. For the clever people

around the room, you'll realize that it spells stress. People are going

on about their kids having the wrong socks they're not paired up properly the

the kid that wasn't holding on to the pram, Matt mentioned the issue of the

baby in the bus in his presentation that wouldn't put their

wellies on. It's small stuff. Sometimes you might have an argument and that's

when you know your stressed because you look back and you think what was that about

I remember having an argument with my husband about five pounds in my accounts

it's my account so why has he got a problem with it? But his history was the stress

of not being able to leave the bank where he worked until it had balance to

the penny that was his stress and I was glad I

recognized that. So as I said stress might be the norm that doesn't make it

normal and it doesn't mean you have to live with it. So you had a thought about

what stress is and if it's what you think and what you've done hasn't worked then

was it what you thought it was?

and therefore what are you going do to deal with it. I mentioned all this

more and the more stuff we have the more stress it seems to cause, an Einstein

also said that peace which I think, hands up if you think that kind of peace

equates to the opposite of stress? Some nods some hands right you're still awake

you following instructions, good, so peace cannot be kept by force

it can only be achieved by understanding. S so I'm gonna help you understand you and

stress, hopefully. so I'd like you to take a moment and you can write this down on

a piece of paper if you want. What is your stress level on the scale of nought

to ten. I'm not going to see this so that's fine you can be completely honest

with yourself

yeah might depend on the day of the week just what is it right now, because you

can only judge with what you are right now, and how committed are you to dealing

with your stress level and mark that on a naught to ten

I can see the cogs ticking and if you're not at a nine or ten then that

might be just a piece of the puzzle that you're missing to deal with it. If you're

not completely committed to solving the issue then it's unlikely that you'll

find the solution. If I had a magic wand which I have, I even have a second one

so I'm gonna wave my magic wand and I can change one thing about you, what

would you like it to be

okay so I've waved my magic wand, I waved both my wands, something's changed

about you how does that affect your stress level?

and if it doesn't then are you really commit to dealing with your

stress level. so these are just the kinds of questions that I ask people because

once you get some understanding of what's really going on then you can

actually deal with it and I've asked this one before but some of you may not

have been there. who are the five most important people in your life? if you can

only find three that's fine

okay and handsup who's put themselves on that list yeah good you you've heard

me speak before oh you've had a one to one. Most people don't

so if you are not on the top of that list at least as much as everybody else

rotates at the top of that list, so you might be looking after parents,

looking after children, husbands, wives, partners, they all take their turn as to

who becomes priority, if you are not at least on that list as much as they are

in turn then how are you going to deal with your stress because a lot of it

is to do with getting your needs met. And if your needs are not prioritized then

it's not surprising you're getting stressed. What is stopping you?

what is stopping you dealing with your stress?

Time, yourself, lazyness, is it too lazy? yes exactly we're getting deep. What is

it that really stops us? you know we haven't got time to do these things

that's what we were looking at earlier. it's something much deeper lack of

awareness, yeah Fear, very good one

and fear of...... If it's the thing that you really want or the thing that you don't

want, you don't want the stress, why would you not then tackle it and actually

that's what's happening whilst we're focusing on the stress we have no idea

what it is we want instead. And if you don't know what you want instead it's

very hard to achieve. I don't want to go to London so so somebody says well where do you

want to go then? I don't know? Well just get in the car drive you'll get there. So

we need to know what there is instead of and this is why people are doing the

same stuff over and over again expecting a different outcome they want to get rid

of their stress but the only thing they're focusing on is their stress so

they're getting the same outcome. so my definition of what stress is it starts

with it's not it's not what's happening to us it's not all that stuff outside

it's not how much time we've got or how little time we've got or you know

whether we've got the money or not the money. It's our response to what is

happening

and it's a feeling of lack of control that's the fear it's a bit like a

rollercoaster some people love it some people hate it. so there's stuff that you

like and you just flow with it there's stuff that you don't like and then

that's the stress so it's the feeling of lack of control but sometimes you like

that so there's an extra bit to it and it's believing that when you're not in

control you don't feel secure and we continue to

want to feed that security with more. we believe that having more will make us

more secure. Are you with me? yes I know I'm going deep and it's early morning....

it's the point at which we freeze and I'm not talking about the fight flight

freeze which is part of the normal reaction to stress, I am talking of that thing

of I can't make a decision, oh you do your business kind of stops because you're

not in flow anymore, you all know when we all know when things are going great

it's it's flowing. we are mostly water you know that. You told us that and

when things don't go well we behave as if we're ice

and it's when our head in our heart, our body and our mind and no longer talking

the same language. My job is obviously to help unravel all of that so I then ask

myself well how did people ever get to that point why do we freeze why do we

lack the clarity to be able to make decisions when our head and our heart are not speaking the same language. And we go yes

that's what's right for me right now even if in 20 years time that proves to

be the wrong decision it was right at the time. It's often because people

haven't got a big picture or they've lost sight of it and it's because they

were not on their priority list to create that big picture for themselves

they've lost track of their values and their principles and they might be in a

job that they hate and they continue doing it and they allow themselves to be

bullied by bosses or colleagues because they haven't put themselves on the top

of that priority list they've disconnected from their feelings as you

said because it's too scary. It involves doing some digging some rooting around

and figuring out what's going on without feelings but our feelings are just

emotions and emotions are just energy in motion and you need that motion to keep

flowing

it's living with tolerances little stuff every time you see something that isn't

quite how you would like it. For me Davina will know my database isn't quite doing

what I'd like it to do and every time I come to that point of wanting it

to do something although I end up with the result I want, there's always the

thing... it's really there it really is an easier way to do this I'm sure but I haven't

yet tackled it but I've now given Davina the job of tackling it, so it's living

with these things and it can be simple things like leaving cupboard doors open

like children not putting their laundry in the laundry basket, and it just goes

on and on it's amazing what we live with and we don't resolve but every time we

see it, it takes you right back to that stress level and because we've become

human doings rather than human beings

because while we're doing we don't have to think about all this other stuff. so

what's this

it kind of is a magic button yep it's a Roundtoit because people say yeah I'll

deal with it when I get round to it and you're at the bottom of that list when

you get around to it so right now it's going to be the time

when I'll give you my gift to get round to it. so stress isn't on the outside

then is it on the inside if all this more isn't working

how might less be

so you've all said you like gifts, good, so when somebody gives you a compliment are

you really comfortable with that? or do you kind of get a bit...ooh. Because every time

somebody pays you for the job that you've done they're giving you a gift

and if you've got any hesitation about receiving gifts and allowing that to

flow into your life it's creating stress for you. How does it feel when you

say no for something or somebody so that you can say yes to you. People have

talked about you know wanting to have time to go and play golf or do their

running but they're too busy. That means saying yes to you! but it often means

saying no, most people don't like saying no, we're not brought up to say no, so

we say yes and we just keep saying yes to more and more and more until we get

to the point of overwhelm and we don't have to.

anybody here, can think of more than one thought at a time? but they all come

in a sequence. we can only think of one thought at any one point in time. good

you're all normal, I was worried about that one.( Laughs) And who has time to breathe? good so

you're all breathing yeah great, we're all alive. so my gift is .....if

you could only think of one thought at any one point and you've got time to

breathe then you're going to be able to use my gift.

Einstein also said See I'm a great fan. ( laugh) life it like a bicycle, to keep your balance

you have to keep moving. You don't want to get to the point of freezing and if

you don't believe that I've brought one of my wobble boards which I use for my

clients to help improve their balance because not being stressed involves

having that balance and it comes as much from what's going on in your bodies

as what's going on in your mind. so you can have a little go on that and so I like

to bring people Happiness and that's by Embracing your fears, Leveraging your

strength, and taking Positive action because we need to keep moving

and you need to know how you want to feel, you know what stress is like but

what do you think that you want instead peace but what does that

actually feel like. So I'd like you to notice the speed of your thoughts, how fast

are they going? They've probably slowed down a bit from when we started. How fast are you

you breathing? What's going on in your mind

This is what I call square breaathing and it's the main tool that I give my

clients when they first come to see me because it does work magic and that's

why I wave my magic wand. It's very simple you breathe in a square. You

breathe in for a count of 4 you hold four a count of 4 you breathe

out for a count of 4 and you hold for a count of 4. so I'm gonna go through

it with you. so when you're ready breathe in two three four, hold two three four,

out two three four, hold two three four, in two three four, hold two three four,

and continue

I said and continue, and now and now notice the speed of your thoughts.

Big Bang Theory: Wedding Dress Shopping and Emotions || Mayim Bialik - Duration: 6:35.

- Hey everybody!

Are you ready for the Amy, Sheldon

Big Bang Theory wedding episode?

I know I am!

Let's talk though, about Amy's wedding dress.

It's no surprise that the Shamy wedding happens in May.

Let's talk about May, shall we?

May, it's the month of weddings, it's the month of spring.

The flowers are blooming, the birds are chirping.

All's good on G-d's green earth.

In such a perfect month, with such a monumental episode

on the horizon, why do I feel mopey?

Let's play multiple choice.

Is my Mayim mopey,

A, because of Trump.

B, because I always prefer winter over spring.

Or C, because trying on wedding dresses as Amy

meant that real life Mayim had to try on

traditional wedding dresses and that's hard for me.

Well, always A, sometimes B

and yeah, a lot of C.

Oh, before I get into talking about

why I'm mopey about wedding dresses,

please remember, like this video, if you like it.

Share it and subscribe to my channel.

But when you subscribe, there's a little bell icon

that appears, you have to click the bell

so that you get all of my notifications

and all of these videos can appear

in your life all the time.

Okay, let's get back to last night's episode.

Amy had to pick a wedding dress

and it brought up a lot of things

that I personally am not comfortable with.

Those things are, number one, traditional wedding dresses.

Number two, trying on traditional wedding dresses.

Number three, being a divorced woman

trying on traditional wedding dresses.

I think you get the idea.

Let's work our way up from the easiest

and most amusing feelings I'm having

to the hardest and most complicated ones I'm having.

What's annoying to me about traditional wedding dresses?

Well, I'm not a traditional person.

So about 15 years ago, when I got married,

I didn't wear a traditional wedding dress.

So what does traditional mean?

Like uh...

Like satin and lace and like, puckers

and little beads that look like pearls

like, clusters, appliqué.

Other french words, I'm sure exist for the things.

I didn't wanna go like the expensive, traditional route

and go to those like, wedding stores

where there's like, the lady and she's perky

and like, I just (groans).

Too much interaction with people trying to tell me,

oh my God you look so pretty.

I couldn't do it.

So what did I do for my wedding?

Well, there was an antique lace store

called Paris 1900 that used to be

in Santa Monica, here in Southern California.

And my mom and I went and I saw this beautiful lace dress,

it was the first one I tried on and that's what I wore.

It wasn't very expensive, it wasn't fancy,

it was delicate and flattering and modest.

And I felt really good in it.

That was it, one and done.

And so, the idea of taking a traditional dress

in a style that I don't really like in the first place,

and then having to stand for a seamstress

and her putting pins in everything

to modify a dress that you're literally gonna wear once

and probably, rarely, if ever look at again,

while there are homeless children

on the streets of every city in this country.

It just, it didn't sit well with me.

And so, when I was at the wardrobe fitting,

trying on the dresses that Amy would be trying on,

I felt self-conscious because I'm not traditional.

And it just feels like, maybe I wished

I could be more normal.

I have ambivalence about that and so, it's just weird.

As for the actual trying on of the wedding dresses,

I don't know that I would have predicted

that I would have had this reaction.

Even though it's for a character, it's still me.

Like, it's my body,

it's what I look like in a wedding dress.

And I don't know if that's in my life's journey

to be in a wedding dress again.

So I don't know, it's just, it's hard.

Yeah, it's hard.

But a strange thing happened.

I tried on many dresses and some made it to the screen

and some did not.

Even though they didn't fit perfectly

and some needed to be altered

and I didn't have any makeup on.

And I actually wasn't feeling that good that day

'cause I had just been sick.

What happened was, I actually liked

the way that I looked in these dresses.

Like, even the traditional frilly ones.

This leads to the most complicated set of feelings

that I had about trying on wedding dresses.

I felt like, and I still feel like

me in this wedding dress draws all sorts of like,

bride related attention to me

and I don't know that I want that.

Because like, I'm divorced.

Like, everyone in the wardrobe department

and everybody who saw me in the dress

was like, oh my God, you look so pretty.

But like, I used to be married and now I'm not

and just like (groans).

And I really was worried that my mom would see me

in these dresses and be like,

oh my God you're gonna get married again in real life?

'Cause you look so pretty, oh my God.

That's not how she talks though,

she's like, oh my God, you're gonna get married again?

Oh my God.

Neither works for me.

I worry that people are gonna ask me

if I can picture myself getting married again

and I just, I don't know how to answer that.

And ultimately, this is hard.

I wonder if people will feel pity for me

because I tried to be married once

like I was in that position

and I failed, you know?

And I know that it's not in my best interest

to care so much what other people think of me,

because I think I worry about that

more than I even care about what I think about for myself.

My real life experience, like right now and going forward,

is in some senses framed by Amy's.

It seems that my life and all of our lives really,

kinda bounces back and forth between fantasy and reality.

Between expectation and disappointment.

Between success and failure.

Between maybe and yes.

Between I'm not sure to maybe I like what this feels like.

And yes, in this month of may,

for so many of us, and for Amy and Sheldon,

between I don't...

And I do.

What did you think of Amy's wedding dress choice?

Please leave your comments below

and if you liked one of the other dresses

that Amy tried on, tell me about that too.

Thank you so much for watching

and we will see you for the wedding episode

in a couple weeks.

The Importance Of Keeping Your Feet Chakras Balanced - Duration: 2:33.

The Importance Of Keeping Your Feet Chakras Balanced

by Conscious Reminder

A balancer for the chakra of the feet is an essential healing instrument that we all should

have in the medicine kit of our spirituality.

If your feet chakras are giving you issues, you can try using balancers that will smooth

everything out.

The problem is that many of us arent attentive to more than the primary chakras.

We have two levels of chakra below these but we dont think about them often.

Keep reading to find out why you need to care about the chakras of the feet and how using

balancers will help you find stability.

The feet chakras You might have guess by now that feet chakras

always come in twos.

They are present in the arch of each foot and help you stay connected to the Earth by

allowing her energy to flow in and out of you.

If there is a block or if they are too stimulated you will have as sensation of unease, confusion

and disorientation.

These problems will then creep up to the other chakra flows in your body and make things

worse.

This is more important for those living in the West.

Since people of the East are comfortable being seated on the Earth, they are often more grounded

than those who have always lived in the West.

However, sitting on the floor isnt all that it takes to be spiritually healthy.

Balancing and Balancers Here are a variety of techniques you can use

to balance out these chakras.

The easiest method is to walk in a meadow or swim in a pond without wearing your shoes.

By removing this obstruction, the energy of the Earth can flow in and clear out any problems.

But if you are having serious issues, you might have to call in some extra help.

You can get feet chakra balancers.

These are small rocks that work on the chakras and activate their power to heal.

Tape or tie them to your feet or put them in your socks before you go to bed.

They should be touching the arches of your feet.

A few weeks of this will right the balance.

If you are still having difficulty, use them throughout the day.

If your feet hurt then just step on the stones and remain standing on them and you will be

relieved of the pain.
