Waching daily Apr 2 2018

now we're going to go through the four point hip abduction so the four point

stance hands and knees is the one we're going to be in right now and you want to

make sure that you're lined up properly so your hands are right underneath your

shoulders you're not too close together they're not super wide apart so directly

under the shoulders the arm is straight up and down the knees line up on the

same, if you're on 2x4 planks, it would be the same plank as the hands

okay so you're in alignment there. hips or legs are straight up and down okay

and from here all I want to do is make sure that my elbows are

turned down and in okay that's going to help to you activate the lats and give

me good shoulder stability coming from the scapula and not the deltoids and the

pecs so I'm gonna get those scapular muscles activated and what we're gonna

do is we're just going to lift the leg up slowly first get the glute activated

make sure you're not hyper extending your lumbar spine lifting the leg too

high or changing position of your hips so sliding out to the side so I lift my

left leg up the tendency is gonna be to slide over to the right I want to make

sure that my hips stay centered okay and now everything stays still nothing moves

other than the leg so we get that leg up and once the leg is straight parallel

with the ground you're gonna lift it out to the side hold it for five to ten

seconds don't let anything else move and bring

it back okay and you can return back down to the ground just to give your

your muscles a little bit a bit of a breather get some blood flow in and out

there because the glutes are fired up in a isometric state there so we want to

get that blood flow in so you lift the leg parallel to the ground abduct the

hip hold for five to ten and then bring it back under control and then down

okay so we're maintaining the alignment of the body

we're not shifting left or right we're not moving forwards or backwards the

torso stays perfectly still and it's just the leg that's moving okay so it's

hip extension the leg straightens hip abduction hold for five to ten seconds

and then return it down under control okay so that's the four point hip

abduction great technique to activate the glutes so awesome to use before your

workouts for squats deadlifts any kind of lower body work great a technique to

activate the glutes there and we're getting that hip abduction so we're

firing up that glute medius it's going to help with single leg balance running

good to use before running sprint day any type of sports okay so when you use

it before workouts in a warm-up you could do anywhere from three to five

reps five to ten second holds and you're good to go

and it's also going to fire up the core and work multi-dimensional core

stability there so great bang for your buck activation technique

Are You Willing to Die? - Duration: 9:39.

Lying in total darkness and unaware of his current situation

he had to rely on sounds to find out what was going on.

The surface he rested on was hard and coarse, almost like rough sandpaper.

And his position was very uncomfortable; that much he could tell

"Is this blood?" he had an iron almost metallic taste in his mouth

With words fading in and out, he was only able to make out three words: accident, pulse, and defibrillators

accident pulse and defibrillators Alex was scared he tried to remember what had

happened how he ended up like this but he couldn't the world he knew was

going away and the thoughts of death slowly drowning him I'm too young to die

I'm only 19 and have my whole life ahead of me I never got to see the pyramids

climb the Eiffel Tower I promise to take Monica to see the Aurora lights above

the Iceland sky hang in there buddy said the paramedic don't give up it's

important that you talk to me tell me something about yourself can you do that

for me blink twice if you understood this hurry we're losing him as the

ambulance raised through the street no this isn't how I died I had to man help

I demand to be alive he screamed but no one could hear him for his thoughts had

no voice Alex was from Colorado Springs where he studied software engineering he

and his girlfriend Monica had been together for five years he plans on

marrying her one day as soon as he found a good-paying job and set everything up

he had always planned on traveling with her around the world but despite his

best efforts he couldn't say these things out loud

he couldn't even blink Alex's blood pressure started dropping as alex was

being unloaded from the ambulance teams of nurses and doctors rushed toward him

the doctors grabbed the pedals and began resuscitating light began flashing in

and out his chest sinking and rising his fingers feeling cold and now his entire

body feeling stiff is this really how I died

has it all been for now thing what I have been forgotten in two

years time what will they say at my funeral

they'll talk about the boy who got killed by a car

pathetic and why did this happen to me what was the angel that was supposed to

watch over me it doesn't matter anymore my heart must have stopped beating and I

feel my brain running out of oxygen I'm going to sleep

but Alex didn't die instead he fell into a state of deep coma his friends and

family kept visiting him they shared updates with him cared for

him cried and laughed with him but Alex was in another place between life and

death and in that state Alex would find himself sitting on a bench in the

playground there he saw a young boy and a girl sitting on a teeter-totter he

walked toward them and asked where he was but they didn't notice him at first

maybe they too are between life and death

he insisted they tell him what they were doing there but the children continued

playing wholly immersed in their game after a while the boy finally noticed

Alex turning his head and looking at Alex the boy presented himself as death

and the girl his sister as life both never stopped playing only putting their

feet down to push back up he explained that if they stopped playing all would

disappear the entire existence is the result of our game

yours too both life and death are needed for you to exist and yet people value

only life and despise death why is that why do you refuse to see us as one Alex

had no words to say he was still processing the idea of being in a coma

and talking to death and life he asked the boy if he was dead and the boy

replied there is no such thing as being dead I am death and yet you see me

playing with life I am life said the girl and yet you see me playing with

death we are inseparable we are black and white together creating all the

colours you see around we are silent and sound together creating voices and

music emerge for too long have humans plotted new ways to separate me from my

brother you portrayed him in the worst possible ways described him as an old

wraith with a scythe lurking around the corners Alex felt anger in his confusion

he felt like the teeter-totter life and death were playing on life claimed he

was being unfair to death and death was saying he was taking life for granted

what we are doing is the universe said life and you are a part of it you two

are playing it it is a place for both dead and living it starts sometimes

feels right sometimes wrong and then ends and if it

didn't end it wouldn't be worth playing and when this particular game ends

it doesn't mean another isn't starting but you people aren't living nor dying

you are merely surviving demanding to be alive you must go on you mustn't get

sick and you mustn't give up why because of your fear of dying

you are only surviving not living enjoying nothing afraid of everything

and in the moment of death you regrets not living you regret not

seeing pyramids because you thought there would be enough time but how much

time is enough time oh the future is the sweetest lie on

earth said life no one ever thinks that you and all the people you ever met will

eventually die until death did you genuinely consider it did you accept the

inevitability of death you didn't otherwise you would cherish

the present very dearly you would love your friends and family on the level you

couldn't understand did you truly love them

did you cherish the present you weren't for you would appreciate every moment

and every fiber of it you were breathing feeling seeing hearing scenting and

tasting you had the opportunities for living and you took it for granted

hooked on the drug of the future tell me when did time ever solve anything did it

work out for you what life and death had spoken to Alex had him burst into tears

regretting not living in life and dying in death as Alex stared at boy and girl

rising and falling he understood the game life and death the constant push

and pull are in no one's hands but the choice to fear death is the same as

fearing life boy and girl gave him a choice to either wake up and live or die

and leave everything behind he chose life they told Alex he wouldn't

remember having this conversation but he will bring with him the feeling of

tranquility from now on he will know that no matter what happens

death will remind him that everything is going to be alright in the end and if

the fear of dying sometimes overwhelms him he will accept it he will no longer

curse death but see it as a gift of nature a chance to let go of everything

he held dearly to experience pleasure and love to experience death he will see

the huge role it plays in his life the magnitude and the importance of it in

some weird way he will see that death is life

thus life snapped its fingers and Alex woke up with the help of his loved ones

he quickly regained strength Alex eventually graduated and together

with Monica saw the pyramids climbed the Eiffel Tower saw the Aurora lights in

Iceland and married each other at the age of 72

he held Monica's hand as she was dying in a hospital old and sick to honor the

promise they made to each other he traveled to England and brought her

ashes with him he was there witnessing the Stonehenge sunset he dropped a tear

as he scattered Monica's ashes and said goodbye when he came back home Alex

visited the nearby playground he enjoyed the bright and sunny day there he saw a

boy and a girl teeter-tottering playing as if there were no yesterday

today or tomorrow they were out of space-time and themselves

at that moment he felt unexplained tranquility at that moment he was

absolutely willing to die

Are You Characterized by Being Mournful? I Hope You Are! | Daily Little Lessons with David Servant - Duration: 8:18.

Are you characterized by being mournful?

I hope you are.

Hi, welcome to today's little lesson.

In our previous few little lessons we've been looking at the beginning of what are commonly

referred to as the beatitudes, right at the beginning of the sermon on the mount, they

are the characteristics of the blessed.

Who are the blessed?

The blessed are the people who are on the road to heaven, and that becomes real clear

as you read through all of them.

The first one of course was, "Blessed are those who are poor in spirit ..." we defined

that over the last two little lessons, "there's is the kingdom of heaven."

The second one, in Matthew chapter 5 and verse 4, follows logically after the first beatitude,

"Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted."

Now, again, this is not a unique characteristic for some Christians who get a unique blessing.

This, again, as we read through all the beatitudes, what I'm claiming here becomes irrefutably

clear, these are characteristics that are shared by all true believers, and the blessings

that they are promised, all can be summed up in, "One day you're going to be a member,

a citizen of God's kingdom."

There's is the kingdom of heaven, and those who are mourning now, they shall be comforted.

So you might ask yourself the question, "Well, I thought one of the fruit of the Spirit is

joy, and so Christians ought to be characterized by joy."

Well, that is of course true, and we're never going to mitigate anything else that's in

the Bible because of this one verse.

But as I've said over and over again, when you read a verse in the Bible, make sure your

interpretation of that verse harmonizes with what the rest of the Bible teaches, because

the themes run throughout the whole Bible, the important ones certainly do.

So in what way should all Christians be mournful?

Well, the previous beatitude, those who are poor or beggarly in spirit, they're obviously

mourning in those cases about their own sin, which is what drives them to the foot of the

cross, drives them to God, and cry out to him for mercy and forgiveness and grace.

So we're mournful, first of all, over our own sins that indicate at one time that we

were rebels against God without any cause.

But on the wider scale of the entire world, we're mournful about everyone's rebellion

against God, it just bugs us, it makes us so sad inwardly.

It's something you don't ever get any relief from, because it's always there.

I'm thinking of a verse in Romans chapter 9, I think it's around verse number 22, but

don't quote me on that, where Paul said, "I've got great sorrow, and unceasing grief in my

heart."

You get that?

Great sorrow, unceasing grief in my heart.

Why?

Well, in that case he was talking specifically about his countrymen, the descendants of Israel,

and he has great sorrow and unceasing grief because of their rejection of their Messiah.

Now, was Paul depressed about that?

Always under a dark cloud, gloom and doom?

No, no, no, no.

No doubt he experienced also that joy unspeakable and full of glory, he wrote about that, right?

So it's kind of odd that we can be both joyful and mournful at the same time, but this is

something every true believer knows.

We have the promise from Jesus that we will be comforted.

Now, you could interpret that various ways.

I tend to think that the comfort is a future comfort that's coming when God's kingdom is

established on this earth, and there's nothing to be sorrowful about.

You know, God's going to wipe away all of our tears, we're told in Scripture.

There will be no more sorrow.

But for now, our greatest sorrow is people's rebellion towards God, and so naturally, that's

why we share the gospel, that's why we try to let our light shine before other people,

so that they'll see, in hopes that they'll wake up, come out of their slumber and sleep,

and awake to righteousness, and awake to faith and repentance in Jesus Christ.

That's motivated partially by that mournful feeling that we've got.

You know, it's interesting, Paul wrote that the entire creation groans and it mourns,

as it were, waiting for the revelation of the sons of God, waiting for our redemption.

Because this is not the end game, folks, this is just the testing time.

God's got a better plan for us than what's going on on this planet right now.

One day our prayers will be answered that we prayed over and over again, "May your will

be done on earth as it is done in heaven."

One day, one day.

I think, this view of what it means to be consistently mournful as a characteristic

of a blessed person who's going to inherit the kingdom of God, who's going to be comforted

one day.

It fits very well into the very next beatitude that Christ lists where he says, "Blessed

are those who ..." Excuse me, not the next one.

We'll have to skip one.

"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness."

See, again, that reflects that true believers, the blessed people, hunger and thirst for

righteousness on every level.

But one of the levels that we hunger and thirst for righteousness is of course the worldwide

level.

We want everyone to repent and believe in Jesus and experience all the blessings now

and in the future that await for those kinds of folks.

So it bugs us, it bugs us, and does it bug us?

Okay, so are you characterized by mourning for these things, as was the apostle Paul?

He spoke specifically of his unceasing grief, his great sorrow for his countrymen.

But of course that carried over into everybody who hadn't yet come to the light, who was

still walking in darkness.

Does that characterize you?

Well, then, you are blessed, because that shows you've been born again and you're heading

towards the kingdom of heaven, and even though you're mourning now, don't worry, one day

you will be comforted.

Praise God, no more sadness, no more tears, because there are going to be new heavens,

new earth, Jesus ruling and reigning over it all, and everybody who's in that kingdom

will be joyfully submissive to him.

All right, thank you so much for joining me on today's little lesson.

God bless you

Sean Penn Rips Steve Bannon: You Can't Age Like That Without Hating People - Duration: 2:01.

Sean Penn Rips Steve Bannon: You Can't Age Like That Without Hating People

Sean Penn delivered an unflattering assessment of Steve Bannon when he opened up about working with President Donald Trump's former chief strategist in the 1990s.

On Thursday's broadcast of "Conan," the Academy Award-winning movie star said Bannon "exerted the same level of charm" on the set of the 1991 film "The Indian Runner" that "he does today." He also called Bannon, who was listed as the movie's executive producer, a "crook." Penn claimed he "didn't even know it was the same Steve Bannon" who had ascended to Trump's inner circle "until I looked at him closely and imagined the Steve Bannon I knew but with the toxins of the soul so deteriorated." "I don't think you can age like that without hating people," Penn added.

Penn was on the show to promote his new novel Bob Honey Who Just Do Stuff.

It followed his memorable interview on Monday's "Late Show" in which he lit up cigarettes in front of host Stephen Colbert and admitted to earlier popping an Ambien.

Penn has previously called Bannon a "bitter Hollywood wannabe who went rogue by way of toxic narcissistic iconoclasm." "But, deep in his heart, he's just a conniving hateful bloated punk who despises mankind," Penn said in April 2017.

Check out the clip above.    .

AYS Daily Growth Hacks 317 You Should Go Out and Meet Your Idols - Duration: 7:23.

Today's topic: You Should Go Out and Meet Your Idols

Hi, I'm Doug Holt with Author of Your Own Story and this is your Daily Growth Hack

where each day we give you a tip, trick or insight to help you up level what we

call the Five to Thrive that is your mind, your body, your soul, your

relationships and yes your business. Yesterday I had the honor of actually

meeting one of my coaching clients in person now this is a rare opportunity

for me and so what we were actually meeting for was somewhat informal but

what we were talking about in conversation was how the last quarter

was for him and what he wanted to get out of q2 now normally this is a very

formal systematic process I take my coaching clients through but we had

decided that he was in town and last minute we were gonna get together have a

beer and just chat just an informal conversation because his last quarter

had been so difficult for him in so many personal ways now we sat down he started

telling me like Doug I apologize I feel like I've failing you I'm like I'm not a

good student I'm not a good client of yours and I feel horrible you know when

you came into my life it was it was perfect because all of a sudden my

relationship started to crumble my business was on shaky ground you know

and my health started to go down which is really important to him right he was

got sick and wasn't able to actually do the things that he really loves to do

and so I looked at my started relate to stories about my past stories about my

shortcomings my failures and how I've gone through bouts of depression and

anxiety you know where I would even on Friday evenings I would I would go home

and pour myself cocktails by myself and pretend to work to make myself feel

better and I went through that about time and time again and he looked at me

and said wow you know you just never would have guessed I was like oh yeah

this is my past this is something that I've gone through I'm human just like

everybody else and he said well Jesus you know I guess that's why they say you

know never go out and meet your idols and he was talking about another person

he really idolized who was ended up just talking really negatively behind his

back and he found out and I said I totally disagree I think we want to go

out meet our idols because then we realize our idols are humans too they're

flawed they're flobble and they make mistakes just like you and I right they

make tons of I can't tell you how many mistakes I've

made in all of my areas of my five to thrive

now the key isn't that you make the mistakes the key is you identify that

you made a mistake and how fast you can pick up and course correct its constant

course correction so as I started talking to him I said look yeah maybe

this isn't been your best but maybe it's the best timing because when we met we

started coaching we've improved all of these areas of your life despite all

life as thrown at you and he was excited and greed and I said look at this don't

be embarrassed as a business owner every business owner goes through depression

anxiety bouts of just not feeling sure do I really want to do this do I really

want to go on this journey alright they battle it just like anybody else doesn't

you have to be a little crazy to be an entrepreneur let's face it there's very

few of us out there there are truly entrepreneurs there's a lot of people

who start a business but are really an employee in their business right very

different very different categories here but also you'll see people online

painting themselves with the the least Ferrari or the least Bugatti where

they've done close changes and because they've only leased it for one day and

have gone in different places and they've HAMP they've got a camera crew

with a rented house you see it all over the place and it's unfortunate the truth

is we all make mistakes and this is exactly why we should go out and meet

our idols we should meet the people that we hold on a high pedestal now they may

exceed our expectations but the reason I think we should meet our idols is

because we also might see how human they are now hopefully they impress us with

their ability their humility and their ability to be vulnerable and share their

their their fears and and think they're failures basically right and they're not

just putting these successes in front of us time after time after time again I

can tell you for myself back in 2007 everybody around me kept telling me how

successful and lucky I was I ran multiple businesses and I lived in

beautiful Santa Barbara California and I was I was very blessed and very lucky

but I found myself not living my dream and that's when I started to make a

change and try to hustle and figure out how I could do it because there was

nobody else out there running multiple companies but seemed to have a holistic

representation of what it meant to be happy right to live

their dreams have that digital nomad freedom that I wanted as well as but by

not sacrificing relationships and still being able to grow businesses so I had

to forge that on my own and along the way I will tell you I've made so many

mistakes in all areas but the key is picking yourself up up and getting back

on track oftentimes I talk about the author of your own story journey and the

reason I use journey or path is because it's a journey it's it's not a

destination it's a it's a progression that we all go on now when you meet your

idols and I've had the ability to meet mine I will tell you they are extremely

flawed individuals and I love them for that when I met them that I met them at

a time in their life a snapshot of their life and many of them become very good

friends of mine in fact a few of them have become clients of mine and I've

been coaching them for a very long time and it's great right because I get to

see the nuances of our lives the things that I idolize I still idolize about

them but I also see the other depths and complexities of their lives things that

we all face so what I encourage you to do is grab your journal list out who

your idols are but also look at yourself as an idol right where do you feel

you're flawed and that's okay right where do you feel that you're great and

celebrate those greatnesses and remember as your journaling this is a snapshot of

you in time this is not your destination you're meant for so much more than even

you probably realize and that's what I want to help you with this journey now

what I'd like you to do is make sure you sign up for the author of your own story

newsletter we just released the 90-day game as the bridge and the bridge your

gap course which were given to our subscribers for free and I want to make

sure you have access to it so go over to AuthorofYourOwnStory.com and sign

up for that newsletter right now go ahead and push pause I'm telling you

it's going to be worth it now if you hit reply to me and just let me know that

you're looking for the 90-day game or the gap now these are exclusive

trainings that I give to my coaching clients who are paying me over six

figures now I don't say that to impress you but to impress upon you that this

works and it works really well you know obviously you know I'm not gonna be able

to go through this with everybody in a personal basis and hopefully we meet and

you'll see how flawed I am I'm definitely not perfect I work on myself

every single day but I also cherish my flaws and I hope you do too that's it

for me today as always I will see you tomorrow go out and inspire someone

simply by being the Author of Your Own Story. Take care.
