'Cause I've spent it dreamin', Dreamin' of the moments that I'll make it

I've convinced the world I've made it But now I found a way to let my heart run free

You found your paradise While I've been finding me

DIY Barbie Wine Bottle Lamp Decor | Decoupage - Duration: 6:11.

Welcome back to DIY No Need To Cry with Ivelisse.

Hi, my crafty family, this week DIY is this cute barbie wine bottle lamp I made for my

niece.

DIY Barbie Wine Bottle Lamp decor using the Decoupage technique

Please turn on your notification bells so that you can get notified every time I upload

a video.

Let's get started.

After you have your bottle lamp all put together it's time to decorate it!

If you want to know how I turned the bottle into a lamp the link is in the description

box below.

Okay so before I decorated it, I sealed the hole where the cord comes out of the bottle

with hot glue and added sand so that the bottle would have some weight to it.

Don't do this as it came off while I was decorating it.

I believe they sell something for that called a grommet so use that instead.

Using a sponge brush and white matte acrylic paint, I painted the whole bottle.

You can take the light socket out, paint that section and put in back in.

Let that dry and give it another coat.

While the bottle is drying, cut out the designs you want from the napkin.

I cut barbie out first.

Then I separated the plies of paper.

I then cut out all the individual hearts but I found that taking the plies off first was

easier because the hearts were so small.

I used more than ten napkins to get all the hearts.

Now it's time to decoupage.

Using a brush, place some Mod Podge on the spot where you'll be placing the image.

You want a nice even layer of glue but work quickly as you don't want the glue to dry

before placing the design.

Place the design and using a piece of plastic wrap, smooth out the wrinkles the best you

can.

And add one more coat of Mod Podge to seal it in.

I also added the Barbie logo and let it dry.

And then added the hearts around the logo.

Next, I fixed the bottom of the bottle so her skirt went all the way down by adding

paint.

Using a black paint marker and the lines already on her skirt as a guide, I just made them

longer.

I then added a darker pink and let it dry.

I added some diamond glitter paint to the white part of the bottle, you can give it

as many coats as you'd like, I gave it two.

then added yellow glitter paint to her hair and let that dry.

Using Mod Podge and rhinestones I blinged out her necklace and that's it for the bottle.

For the lamp shade, I randomly decoupaged gold hearts to all four sides.

I then did the same thing to the middles but using both the pink and gold hearts.

Fill in the area with the gold hearts, with pink paint, on all four sides.

I painted the trim with a gold metallic paint marker

Added the diamond glitter paint to all four sides and let that dry.

and finally, using a sharpie add polka dots and outline the gold hearts on the sides.

This is the Barbie bottle lamp all finished and I couldn't be happier!

Now let's just hope my 8-year-old niece loves it as much as I do.

She's a tough critic so I'll get the real review from her for sure!

This was my very first lamp and I'm so happy you guy's kept requesting it!

I was so nervous to drill into the bottle but now I know it's not hard at all.

Thank you so much for helping me push past my comfort zone because this just opened up

so many creative possibilities.

If you don't want to make the lamp just add all the hearts to the bottle instead and

you'll still have a beautiful piece!

Remember that you can decorate with anything, it doesn't have to be paper napkins or barbie

themed.

Use what you want and as always, have fun be creative and make a mess!

Thanks for watching!

If you like this video, please don't forget to thumbs it up as it helps the growth of

the channel and to show your support!

If the Drug Doesn't Work, You Don't Pay: The Reality of Outcomes-Based Contracting - Duration: 3:29.

What should the price of a medication be?

If your answer is "what the market will bear" then congratulations, you are qualified to

be CEO of a pharmaceutical company.

But it turns out that "what the market will bear" gets really expensive, particularly

when the people who need the medications are not, directly at least, the ones paying for

them.

The cost of drugs is a problem, with increases in prices drastically outpacing inflation.

And we have heard some talk from politicians on both sides of the aisle that something

needs to be done.

But don't worry folks.

Big Pharma has the solution.

It's called outcomes-based contracting.

The basic idea – pay for this drug, and if it doesn't work, you get your money back.

If you think this is a good deal, I have a bridge to sell you.

But don't take my word for it.

This study, appearing in the Annals of Internal Medicine, looks at the PCSK-9 inhibitor evolocumab.

This is a novel lipid-lowering agent that comes in at a whopping $14,500 per year – the

price the market will bear.

Clinical trials show that this drug does save lives, at a cost of around $324,000 per quality-adjusted

life year saved.

Most health economists "value" a life-year at $100,000, so one could argue this drug

costs more than 3-fold what it is worth.

But Amgen, the maker of evolocumab, has a deal for you.

If you have a heart attack or stroke within 5-years of starting the drug, you get your

money back.

Sound good?

It's not.

The Annals paper quantifies what you should feel in your gut.

Strokes and heart attacks are rare – only about 3% per year in the high-risk group that

would be receiving evolocumab.

That means that 97% of people are paying full price.

This drug, which is 3 times more expensive than it should be based on a value-model,

is now "price-reduced" to 97% of its original value.

According to the Annals study, even if Amgen offered to pay for all the inpatient costs

of the stroke or MI AND refund the money spent on the drug, the cost per life-year saved

would drop from $324,000 per year to $314,000 per year.

The main problem is their definition of the drug working for you.

They are assuming that, if you don't have a Stroke or MI, the drug worked.

This is a major fallacy.

Most people don't have a stroke or MI with or without this drug.

You know, what?

The Simpsons said it best: Don't buy this rock.

What baffles me here, is why would a payer ever accept this?

It's so obviously a bad deal.

Is it just a PR stunt?

Some researchers believe that outcomes-based contracting is not actually designed to ever

be implemented.

Rather, they are designed to change the law.

See, the pharmaceutical companies argue that outcomes-based contracting would be so great,

but they just can't do it because the law gets in the way.

What laws?

Well, the one forbidding them from marketing for off-label usages.

And the Medicaid best price rule.

And the anti-kickback statute.

If that's the game it's pretty clever.

Argue you need these consumer protections rolled back to offer a novel pricing model,

then no one takes you up on your novel pricing model (because it's useless) and enjoy your

new regulation-free world.

8 Foods to Avoid When You Have a Stomach Ache - Duration: 7:17.

8 Foods to Avoid When You Have a Stomach Ache

A stomach ache is a very common symptom that's usually caused by digestive issues due to microorganisms or other substances in your food.

In other cases, it could be due to an inflammatory issue or imbalances in your nervous system, almost always a result of stress and anxiety.

While it's not usually a serious complication, it can be a very uncomfortable problem because it's usually accompanied by gas, acidity, and other symptoms related to indigestion.

In addition, stomach pain can be caused by food allegies that also trigger constipation and diarrhea.

Because of this, you need to stay alert and avoid the foods that make it worse, while also taking remedies to relieve it.

In today's article, we want to share the top eight foods to avoid when you have a stomach ache so you'll be sure to cut them out of your diet.

Find out what they are!.

1. Dairy products

However, they have also been classified as inflammatory agents, particularly for those who suffer from lactose intolerance.

Lactose can take a long time to break down, and when this overloads your stomach it causes inflammation, pain, and other digestive discomfort.

This is why it's a good idea to avoid dairy products when you're suffering from stomach pain, even though you can otherwise eat them.

2. Fats

When you're having stomach pain, you should limit your consumption of fatty foods as much as possible, as they slow down your digestion.

When they are absorbed by your intestines, they reduce your ability to control inflammatory processes, increasing the severity of pain or indigestion.

Fried foods, ice cream, and meat all slow down digestive transit and lead to bouts of constipation and inflammation.

3. Spices

Eating food that's too spicy can stimulate the production of stomach acids that lead to acid reflux and burning sensations.

While it's fine to consume them in moderation, they should be completely avoided when you're having indigestion or any other digestive problem.

4. Spicy foods

Just like spices, spicy foods can irritate the lining of your stomach and increase your production of stomach acids.

They can weaken the sphincter that prevents acids from traveling into your esophagus, which causes acid reflux and heartburn.

It's ideal to avoid spicy foods completely if you're having stomach pain and consume them in moderation, in general.

5. Sugars and sweets

affect your metabolic activity and interfere in the digestive process.

Sugars feed harmful bacteria that alter the pH of your intestines.

In addition to causing inflammation, this increases your risk of infection and disease.

On the other hand, you should be aware the excessive consumption of sugary products slows down your body's absorption of other nutrients and can lead to becoming overweight or obese.

6. Caffeine

Foods and beverages that contain caffeine can increase your tendency to suffer from acid reflux because they irritate the stomach and affect digestion.

They slow down your intestinal activity, causing constipation, pain, and inflammation.

Some sources of caffeine that you should avoid when you have a stomach ache include:.

Coffee, Soda, Black tea, Dark chocolate, Irish cream.

7. Carbonated sodas

rritate the lining of your stomach and increase the production of gas.

They contain chemicals like citric acid and sodium benzoate, which have been associated with inflammation and stomach disorders.

In addition, they also contain large quantities of sugar, which affects the pH of your intestines and their microbial flora.

8. Refined flour

Carbohydrates that contain refined flour slow down the digestive process, increase inflammation, and cause pain and feelings of heaviness.

When you eat these foods while you have a stomach ache, it can worsen your symptoms and make them harder to treat.

Instead, it's a better idea to eat whole grains, because their fiber content supports healthy digestion.

Are you suffering from stomach pain? Keep the foods we mentioned today in mind and try to avoid them until you're completely better.

Welcome to the village!

So peace I'm Lyonzo. I'm the CEO of Global Village.

I say my ancestors brought me to global village at a time that was very necessary.

So Global Village--the village jam all these creatives come and meet at this Mecca

and collectively we perform at the same time,

so we call it the only concert where the audience is the headliner.

Like if you think Kumbaya campfire times a hundred

that's what the village jam is.

*Jam music*

I believe my purpose at this current time, and moment is to help others

find their purpose

I think the shift that happened for me was after a jam this kid

Justin came up to me after the jam I was like

"Lyonzo I'd never believed in God until now."

He felt so him. So him. This is a kid who's been in jail three

times four times, has been to classes. You know like sobriety classes or anger

management classes but like none of that worked but this one time he came

to this jam session was like okay and now he's on the path to help others.

I remember being--still going to clubs not because I wanted to but because

friends would go to these clubs and go to these parties and like you know I was

getting high. You know smoking weed, I was drinking, but literally I'm just like wow

like that this environment isn't me. It's not me no more. It never was me I'm just

now okay to say that it's not me. So I knew I had to give it up you know, so I

haven't smoked in three years three plus years yeah.

So this bandana I have on my head

represents the flag of the Garifuna culture. I really battled this

this identity of being an in the middle. I grew up in this culture but my mom

never really spoke the language, but my family did, and I'm also Afro-Latino. You

know. And then I met aunt, my tia Carmen, and she's telling me about this dashiki

wear that she's making, the Garifuna culture, and like I remember asking her

like so can you just tell me more about my culture because I never--I just wanted to know more at that point.

I don't know why, but I was just like tired of not knowing who I am and I was going through

a crazy--like figuring out self you know.

My mom brought me out to Honduras

It was really to show me what happens outside of my bubble,

to like have more gratitude. It showed me how much the community thrives when one

person helps another and like that's what really--it hit me like it takes a village.

That's why I decided I would start global village and bring people together.

This is special, you know, and like this is who I am this is what I'm gonna represent.

I believe as humans we need to believe in something to get us through this thing. We're all

literally just making this thing up as we go

I'm not here to like make other people believe in something. I just want people

to know that like it's okay to be you and once like you accept that then you

can step it to your purpose and when we're all in purpose I feel like that's

when we're gonna complete this thing. I don't know what it is, but I just feel

like if you're gonna experience this life and be part of it the best way so

total total total

7 Weight Loss Mistakes You Don't Want to Make - Duration: 8:51.

7 Weight Loss Mistakes You Don't Want to Make

When it comes to losing weight, our diet is one of the most important aspects.

And were all guilty of makes a few common weight loss mistakes.

Although it is necessary to complement a deit with an exercise routine and other healthy habits, the diet plays an irreplaceable role.

A healthy and balanced diet enables us to lose excess weight.

And, above all, it helps to stabilize our weight to maintain a healthy body.

The problem is that, with the aim of losing weight, some people make weight loss mistakes that become an obstacle to reaching this goal.

The most worrying thing is that many people are carrying out diet plans based on false beliefs and as a consequence are suffering from several health problems.

For this reason, it is essential to recognize a few common weight loss mistakes and to understand that weight loss doesnt happen overnight.

Pay attention!.

1. Skipping meals

Hundreds of people think that they can lose weight if they save a few calories by skipping one of their main meals.

But, n reality, this practice has counterproductive effects that prevent us from losing those excess kilos.

Firstly, the body detects this as scarcity and activates the hormones that make us store energy reserves in the form of fat.

This slows down the metabolic functions and so reduces the number of calories we burn.

Also, it is highly probably that we will experience greater food anxiety over the following hours.

2. Adopting miracle diets

The popular, so-called miracle diets are those which promise surprising results in just a few days or a couple of weeks.

They are extremely low calorie dietary plans that, in most cases, lack essential nutrients.

So, this is one of several major weight loss mistakes that youll want to avoid.

Heres why:.

While it is true that they help to lose weight fast, they cause deficiencies that put our health at risk.

In the medium and long term they cause metabolic disorders that make us quickly regain the weight weve lost.

The miracle diets cause weakness and fatigue, interrupting our daily activities.

They cause a reduction in muscle mass which, as if this werent enough, affects bone health.

3. Poor choices of smoothies

Smoothies and natural juices are considered a great complement for losing weight in a healthy way, without going hungry.

However, some combinations of ingredients make drinks with too many calories, which prevents us from achieving the desired results of the diet.

It is important to make healthy choices, preferably made with fruits and vegetables that are low in calories.

Avoid options made with yogurt or whole milk.

Dont sweeten them with sugars or syrups.

Dont add whipped cream or anything similar.

4. Obsessing over calories

It is true that a healthy dietary plan should have a moderate level of calories in order to reduce excess kilos.

However, it isnt about obsessing over counting calories.

In fact, it is important to prioritize the nutritional quality of each food.

Considering this, it is essential for our diet to include the following:.

High quality protein, Omega 3 fatty acids, Antioxidants, Dietary fiber, Vitamins and minerals.

5. Choosing unhealthy sides

Another common mistake among those trying to lose weight is to reduce the properties of healthy meals by adding sides filled with calories and added substances.

Its no use preparing a delicious salad with fresh vegetables if youre going to cover it with a dressing full of fat or refined sugar.

While we know that they improve the flavor a lot, its best to limit our intake.

Choose homemade dressings made with olive oil, lemon and fine herbs.

6. Consuming too many low-calorie products

Thanks to the food industrys many advertisements, many people believe that the best option for a diet is to choose products with low-calorie labels.

While many of these foods are lower in calories when compared with their usual versions, this doesnt mean that they are healthier.

Whats more, they can even make you gain weight.

It is essential to bear in mind that they also contain carbohydrates, fats and many additives that are not good for the body.

Although some can complement our diet, they should not be the basis of a diet, nor should they be eaten in excess.

7. Lack of consistency

Be very careful! This is one of the main weight loss mistakes.

Lack of consistency with healthy eating is the reason that many people have trouble maintaining a healthy weight.

Its no good eating healthily and losing weight if we then regain it by going back to old eating habits.

And, it is important to keep up our willpower and discipline to eat healthily as part of our lifestyle.

We shouldnt change our diet just for a spell of time: it is permanent.

Do you make any of these weight loss mistakes? If so, or if youre struggling to lose weight, try to pay attention to the recommendations in each case.

And, look out for signs of what could be preventing you from reaching your weight loss goals.

Who was Kamaladevi Chattopadhyay? - Everything You Need to Know about Kamaladevi Chattopadhyay. - Duration: 2:48.

In 1986, whilst renowned Indian novelist Raja Rao wrote Kamaladevi Chattopadhyay's memoirs,

the Indian scene nowadays.

Firmly Indian and therefore usual, incredibly state-of-the-art both in sensibility and intelligence,

she walks with every person, in city and united states with utter simplicity."

How To: Safely Lift & Support Your Vehicle - Duration: 3:00.

[Mechanical SFX]

Hey everybody, Chris here from O'Reilly Auto Parts to show you how to safely

raise and support your vehicle which will come in handy from everything from

oil changes to brake jobs or flat tires. First thing you'll do is find solid

level ground if possible. If you were driving and had a flat you may not have

much of a choice, but it's extremely important to park your vehicle in the

flattest possible spot. Never try to raise a vehicle on un-level ground, soft

surfaces, or debris like rocks or gravel. Also make sure that your jack and jack

stands meet the manufacturer recommended weight specifications and never try to

lift and support your vehicle on a narrow shoulder or curve in the road

where oncoming traffic will have trouble seeing you. If your vehicle is an

automatic, put it in park. If it's a standard, put it in first gear then be

sure to set your parking brake and chock the wheels that remain on the ground.

This will keep the car from moving while you're jacking it up and setting your

stands. Only use your crank jack in emergencies. That's the jack that comes

with your vehicle. Use a floor jack whenever possible. Your vehicle's

manufacturer will specify where you should place your jack and jack stands

after you've raised the vehicle and how much weight your stands will need to

support. Once you're sure any rocks and debris are clear from the area your jack

and jack stands will sit, it's safe to raise the vehicle then set your stand or

stands underneath at the location specified by the manufacturer.

It's best to support both sides of the vehicle for stability but the work

you're doing will determine whether one side or both sides need to be supported.

Jack stands must be sitting level. If they're tilted at all they're unstable.

Very carefully lower your floor jack so that the vehicle rests on the stands.

Before getting underneath the vehicle or continuing to work, test the stability of

the stands by pushing gently on the vehicle from different angles.

For the sake of safety never work under a vehicle that's supported only by a

jack. Once your work is done you'll use your jack to raise the vehicle up off

the stands. Remove the stands keeping in mind you should never have to apply any

pressure to get them out. They should come out freely, then carefully lower
