New Pizza Stone Solution ~ Pizza Craft Pizza Stone ~ Pizza Stone Upgrade ~ Noreen's Kichen - Duration: 11:50.

Okay, I want to tell you a story about the pizza stone

So a couple of years back

I did a video called pizza stone solution

And I shared how I found these really great travertine tiles at the local home improvement

center and that's what we've been using as

two-prong kind of a pizza stone in the bottom of our oven and a hot mass in order a

Heat sink which is a mass that you put in to collect heat and keep your oven more even because our oven is

about 25 degrees off

Hot it's too hot so when you put a heat sink in your oven like this it does help to

regulate the temperature it also allows your oven to not cycle so much if you have a

An electric oven especially that relies on the element to?

Cycle to come up and make it hotter and then turn off and keep a balance of heat in there. Well. This is my third

stone of the same type of tile and

As you can see it has cracked and broken and this is the case all three times

So it's time to make a couple of changes

the first being I bought a new pizza stone that is a real pizza stone that is going to be living in my oven and

I'm gonna share with you what that looks like right now, and I'm gonna show you where you can get it

But I wanted to show you the results of using the travertine tile this thing

Even though it cost ten dollars

Over you know three times over two years that means thirty dollars in the garbage so um

What I thought was originally a great idea ended up not being such a great idea

And I'm here to tell you learn from my mistake

I know I recommended you guys do this but

But we're all learning together still and that's what life is it is a it is a series of

learning

experiences

That's right trial and error

so maybe this didn't work out for me, so we're going in two different direction, and I think I'm gonna be a lot happier and

Maybe it's something that you want to try as well

So I'm gonna remove this from my oven and I'm going to take you over to the counter, and I'm gonna share with you

what the new pizza stone looks like

Alright before we put this in the oven and we we've uh we're gonna get rid of that cracked stone because

Who needs that right I did a little research, and I did a little

Know I did a little consumer

Exploration and I went ahead and I found this

Pizza stone, this is a pizza craft pizza stone

It is 15 by 24 inches and it fits in my oven

Perfectly, and I want to show you how thick this is

It is a half inch thick exactly

It's way thicker than the other

Tile that I hid in there and you know I after I did that video that pizza stone solution video I had

more than my fair share of people contacting me both privately and leaving comments telling me that it was dangerous to use that tile and

which means it's not going to crack or they claim that it is not going to crack and you can use the stone in your

To I usually put my oven at 450 to 500 degrees and you do want these to heat for a good long time

You guys know we have pets we have cats and sometimes

It's difficult to keep them off the counters regardless of what some people may say oh you trained them

No, you don't catch train you you do not train cats

So in order to keep them

somewhat you know impervious and

Non damaging to the top of my stove and help me to keep it a little cleaner

Then I went ahead and I got a full sized sheet pan from the restaurant supply I turn this upside down

and I keep it on my stovetop when I'm not using it and

it has worked out really well a

Bonus is that if you need a little extra workspace

And you're not using your oven because I do not recommend that you keep your

The sheet pan on top of your stove when you're using the oven because a lot of stoves mine

Included use one of the back burners as a vent

So one of them is gonna get hot and that pans gonna get hot so you don't want to do that

It gives you additional workspace

so you're not gonna damage your burners or anything it gives you a level workspace if you want to take out your electric griddle or

If you want to put your pressure cooker on top of your stove

So you can vent it and turn the fan on when you're using it

This is a really great option

How to be a motorcycle mechanic. Part 4 - Duration: 4:15.

Hey Jeff here and this is part four of how to be a motorcycle mechanic in this video

We're going to talk about three important topics tools

Wages and working with others by now

You've got a good idea of what you need to do and you may have even gotten yourself a position as a motorcycle mechanic

first off let's talk about tools

when you start you should have at least a basic set of tools that include wrenches sockets and

Screwdrivers it's nice to have metric and standard tools as well as you'll likely need both on a regular basis

If you're fortunate enough to work with a motorcycle mechanic who will let you borrow their tools, that's great

Obviously ask first put their tools back when done and make sure you clean them as well

Understanding that this is only a short-term solution

If you have to borrow something more than a few times just plan on buying it for yourself as soon as possible

Most shops will supply the specialty tools like

Pullers presses etc so focus on having the main tools for yourself

there are good deals to be found if you do shop around you could also consider buying the used tools as well a

Solid toolbox is nice. I like the ones with the roller drawers

but the box itself doesn't make you any money so my

Advice is to avoid buying an overly expensive toolbox

Tools are an investment. You will use them to make your living so buy the best that you can afford

number two on the topic of wages

Hourly flat rate or a combination of the two this is where you're going to have to prove your worth

Don't expect to start at the top of the pay scale when you first start out be reasonable and negotiating find out

How the shop is going to pay you first and be sure to ask some questions for example

What type of jobs you'll actually be performing and how many hours they expect you to bill out in a day?

The motorcycle shops in my part the world here in southwestern Ontario Canada pay hourly

Which is nice because you are paid for all of the hours that you work

Well with others as you will be working in close proximity in a tight

Environment and this can test your people skills on any given day

Some co-workers will be more approachable than others. You will learn quickly in your dealings as you go

some common sense here

Treat others as you would like to be treated

don't interrupt them if they are busy and

Don't bother them with silly questions like hey. Where's the broom have a look for yourself?

In a busy shop the other mechanics have their own work to do for myself when I started as an apprentice

I thought there was going to be more support so be prepared

You're basically on your own being tested from the get-go I learned a lot by watching others

Good and bad, and it really is what you make it

I will say here that it was nice working in the smaller shop where I worked one-on-one with a

senior mechanic with lots of experience

He had lots of knowledge and the time to properly teach me this helped build my confidence up very early
