Can you solve this simple puzzle that experts with PhD's got wrong? - Duration: 6:16.

Consider this puzzle that people with PhDs got wrong.

Imagine you're in a game show.

The host asks you to select one of three closed doors.

Behind one door is your dream car and behind the other doors are goats.

If you've chosen the right door you win the prize.

You choose door number 1, and the host who knows whats behind the doors, opens door number

3, which reveals a goat.

He then says to you, "would like to switch your door?"

Here's your problem: Is it to your advantage to switch your door

If you think it doesn't make a difference if you switch, unfortunately you're wrong.

This brain teaser is called the Monty Hall problem.

It is based on the American TV show, "Let's make a deal", named after its original host

Monty Hall.

In 1990, Marilyn vos Savant- known for holding the record for highest IQ gave her answer.

Her answer attracted a massive amount of feedback.

Mathematicians criticized her answer by saying she misled and corrupted the public.

Some even sent her nasty and sarcastic letters.

She then challenged math classes around the country to set up a probability trial.

Many responded to this nationwide experiment and found out she is right.

Now, here's why you should switch.

The answer is both simple and strange.

Stick around and I will show you an illustration which proves 100% why you should switch to

door 2.

Turns out you increase your chance of winning if you switch.

To begin with, your chance of winning is one in three.

If your door has the car, which only has 1/3 probability, then Monty can open door number

two or three.

But if you choose the wrong door, which has 2/3 probability, then Monty would have to

avoid the right door.

So switching your door increases your probability of winning.

How so?

Because there's more chance your initial choice is wrong.

Now the questions is, are you guaranteed to win every time you switch?

No.

But if you play this game over and over, on average you will win 2/3 of the time if you

switch.

Now you might thinking, "There are 2 doors left so each door should get 1/2 probability

instead".

That's a good point, but that's only correct if there were two doors to begin with.

Remember, there's more chance your first door is wrong.

So Monty would most likely leave the right door closed.

And because there is less chance door number 1 is right, you should switch to door number

2 to increase your chance of winning.

Your strategy to win the car should be based on probability.

Here's a grander way of seeing this.

Imagine instead there are 100 doors.

You choose door one.

Monty reveals 98 doors but leaves door seventy-seven.

Now it make sense to switch your door right?

Are you still here?

Great.

Now here's the most interesting part.

We will bridge the gap between math and real world by using a decision tree.

Decision tree is an illustration of different results of a decision.

It is used commonly in business management, finance, and philosophy.

Let us pretend Monty allowed you to solve this problem on paper.

Lets begin by drawing a box.

We will assume the car is in door # 1.

Lets start by drawing a line coming out of the box.

The number of lines will represent the number of your actions.

For this problem we will list all 6 possible choices.

3 scenarios if you switch and 3 scenarios if you stick with your door.

Each branch will represent each scenario.

Now let's take one branch at a time.

Let's assume the car is in door number 1.

Luckily you choose the right door.

This is the first branch of your tree.

The host will not open door number 1 but he will open door number 2 or 3.

This time he opens door number 3 and you switch to door number 2, you lose.

You choose door 2, the host opens door 3, you switch to door 1 and you win.

Nice!

You choose door 3, the host opens 2, you switch to door 1 and you win.

Great!

Two out of three branches lead to winning.

So the probability of winning is 2/3, and only 1/3 in losing.

Now let's see if you stay with your door 1.

You choose door number 1, the host opens door 3, and you win.You choose door 2, the host

opens door 3, and you lose. You choose door 3, the host opens door 2, and you lose again. This

time two out of three branches lead to losing.

So the probability of winning is only 1/3, and 2/3 in losing.Decision tree shows how

you should change you view of the future based on new information.

It's because new information should influence your decision.

You had no reason to be sure the car was behind any particular door.

But after Monty opens door number three you have more information.

This means you need to change your prediction of the outcome.

Because as you gather more information you must change your decisions.

Like in real life, you collect more information to make the best decision.

Cómo MEMORIZAR Rápido en 10 minutos 📖 [Con técnica] - Duration: 13:35.

Hello, if you are a student of the ESO, baccalaureate, the university, if you're

opposing for the police, the guard civilian, fireman or any other

opposition and you want to learn to memorize In the long term, this video interests you

Welcome to sport is life

good guys this video is a little bit different from what I'm used to

but you also have to work the coconut, you have to work the mind

a few months ago I read some books very good Ramón Campayo if you do not know

who is ramón campayo, is the fastest memorizer in history and

is Spanish, has won nine times the world championship and its two strongest points

because they are memorization and Fast reading

next you will see that applying a simple technique you are going to improve

your ability to memorize and not only memorize but you will be able to

retain that information for a long time more time, you want to try it soon

you will do it, the other day I contacted Ramón Campayo and gave me permission to

use your video so we see it and then we talk about those books for

deepen with what we're going to see continuation

Hello, this is Ramón Campayo and my idea in this video is to propose a chain

of words for you to treat simply to remember them, well the first word

What I am going to propose to you is: picture, try to follow them in order and

remember them later in order following flute

after brush

cat

trunk

airplane

squid

photo machine

moustache

parchís I would be able to remember them all, some loose

by order. to see you get a test

How have you been given? all the words have you written down correctly?

let's see the second part, what we do now to remember

a list of words at the moment are Simple chains is an exercise

just to see a little how memory works just like we have

done with words that do not have to do with each other can be to remember

lists of things that do have to do imagine the satellites of jupiter in order

or any word any sequence we make an example with

unconnected words but now with a technique just as our mind works

you are relating a word with another and forming images that

they call our attention powerfully

think about what I'm going to say imagine that the first word for

example that I tell you is eagle, try to visualize an eagle a bit in detail

the second word racket you can see now the eagle for example

who has a racket on his arm imagine the one on the tennis court as

fly goes flying to the net as it plays perfectly with his racket like

rackets

the next word that I propose is lamp right now I'm visualizing

a lamp a flash and it really is a model even saw the light as a

little as the dots pass as if they were beams of light through the

little squares of the racket observes that being lamp how curious is a racket

very well the next word that you I propose now is map for example how

We had a lamp as we associate a lamp and map then imagine for example a map

if you want a world map and suddenly through the center a kind of

hole is some makes light is the lamp it is a lamp that is behind it is like

consuming the map and a stream of very powerful light through the map

next word that I propose submarine as we had map as

we remember how I know that after maps I have to say submarine we are going to

associate what it is that makes our mind really how the subconscious works

and we associate map with submarine you can imagine for example a submarine with

map or folded shape everything is a map the picture the frame is the frame under the

wooden sea bottom has folded perfectly is a map a world map

a map that you want of something a map of the treasure perhaps try to see a map

the submarine as wrapped up a sandwich wrapped in a map

the next word that I propose is a tiny flea harder to see

we have a sailor as we go from sub to flea then you have to do

something because it's our mind is not going to be able you can imagine a kind of

flea with a submarine shape and try to see the periscope for example

It's a little flea legs like jumps eh but has a submarine shape

there is even a small puddle and he gets is your true natural world once the

flea is jumping now underwater but it has an elongated submarine shape

try to visualize it

before I told you brush imagine that the next word is toothbrush

if we have flea you are able to put a inch in giant size has about

teeth as he pulls out his brush and Paris is standing the teeth in the mirror

it's about advertising washing tremendous teeth that do not know we see no

I know where these teeth came from flea tries to see it with detail is

made his toothpaste and brushes the teeth

the next word that I propose is going to be a planet, now as I had

toothbrush I'm in a brush very long very large and a planet and

I'm like sweeping the entire surface as if it were the planet earth

imagine a giant brush sweeping combing in some way with the brush

of teeth that planet

the next word can be ball how we associate planet and ball to

to be able to remember everything well imagine for example that the planet in

tiny size is a ball to play to soccer a ball a tennis ball to

the best you prefer of a ball of ping pong which is suggestive and

we see that planet in the form of a little ball playing with the racket giving him

being with him directly

the next word that I propose it can be air conditioning and we have

planet as we associate planet with air conditioning I'm seeing in

in front of me an air module conditioned and instead of cold air what

that is coming out are planets planets little ones are going great are

planets there is no air but planets I just try to see a small

sphere around are planets of one's own air conditioner

and he is visualizing it well

and the next word that I'm going to propose can be crab we had

air conditioner does not work well the air conditioning but the technician is

a crab see how it climbs up the wall and start to move with his tweezers in the

apparatus to function good does it operate moving cable is cutting

something with his tongs starts to move that air conditioner

and the last word that I propose is truck we had crab as we associate

crab and truck you can see a huge scattered crab lying on a

truck in the cabin with its clamps I'm even seeing how among the

tweezers by the crystals by the Windows and take the wheel is a

crab truck driver but he's going back like in the trailer you can see it

how it is moving

good and now we would have to try to remember the entire list of words now

here below you will see a sign with the first word I do not stand and I'm not going to

say when I'm just going to observe you and try to remember the list in order

all the words we have said we are going to see if you are capable

Well how was the test done? could write all the words in the

correct sequence by order if not you have done so do not worry it is a

first exercise would be simply missing of visualization takes from moral what

next the subconscious is going to get with that information that

call attention if we want a little fantasy and we make it very

real and I live it that way you're going to be able to memorize if you have not left

I invite you to watch the video again and what you see is a little better

with more interest not in a vague way but with realism I also invite you to

you write below your comments can be interesting for us to

other people who see you say good that you make a comparative how

it happened the first time without technique with Brute memory force now with a

little technique you notice if it has been hard to have a good time

sensations are very interesting sharing thanks is a very technical

simple but you should practice as everything but that gives very good results

now I will talk about your books and first time I discovered ramón campayo

it was through a webinar of yours that he did live

this exercise that we just saw and I I was impressed therefore look

more information and I discovered that it was writer and he had published about

how many books the first one I read was develops a prodigious mind is a

book the truth is that beast when what I read I was impressed because it is very

good teaches you to memorize as what just see but much more detailed you

teach to use the mental knights a very good tool to memorize

and to store a lot but a lot of information about everything with the

pure data is that data that they do not follow a logical sequence and so

so much you can not reason and this goes very well for example to study the

bones the muscles because you can not deduct you can not deduct

sternocleidomastoid not but you have to learn apart from everything

related to memorization has a Quick reading section to read more

fast and understand better for example to who has not happened that you've been

reading a book or anything and then

you forgot what they had read and you have to go back and read that

page that you just read but that he has also forgotten and this is for lack

of retentive therefore this can be work and also that the system of

reading that we have been taught since we are small at school is not

effective that is not entirely effective and apart it tires the sight too much

you will find study techniques and psychological preparation to those who have not

past he has studied a lot for a long time comes at the time of

the truth comes the test and you stay in white well in this book there are certain

points so that this does not happen to you so so much is the truth the truth is that I

I would like to explain everything but it is that if did not destroy the book I leave it for

here and in the description of the video develops a prodigious mind then the

next I read is learn English in seven days and the truth is that I do not know

if it really works I already knew English only use it to increase

no Aryan kabul and the truth is that it was awesome because I learned from

vocabulary and apart not only is that what you learn is that you do not forget that

it is the important thing an association and then you're left with

is fucking mother and if the title of video is very eye-catching learns English in

7 days is not that I learn to speak fluid but that ramón campayo says

that you can defend speaking type as if well that's what I clean to know

words and you are obviously ordering them with practice you will improve it and in addition

this book comes with some tables for learn a lot but a lot

vocabulary and that is great because I tell you that if you forget because then

you can forget to look at the tables and immediately you get it and you turn it

hold for quite some time that is to say that you learn to memorize a

different form than we have been taught in schools and in the

description of the video I'll leave you all your books and if you liked everything

this memorization topic and you want learn many more things up here you

I leave a brutal playlist where are you going to find hundreds of hours

of ramón campayo videos and more techniques and very good things I the only thing

that I have been missing for reading has been one specific fast reading so we

I can give my opinion because I have not read but if anyone wants it

give away because I'm not going to say I'm not going to say that you can not give it to me if

you want good guys up here the video today I know it has been a different video

but I think it can be useful for you study to memorize or if not then

to know something else the knowledge never occupies place if you liked to like

Share it with your friends and subscribe if to subscribe subscribe subscribe

you have not done it yet we'll see you in a little bit in another video but

9 Stories that Prove YOU Were Reincarnated From a Past Life - Duration: 17:38.

Have you ever been afraid of something since childhood

Always wondered why?

Or visited a place for the first time and feel like you've been there before?

Or maybe you have unusual birthmarks on your body

And never thought much about it?

Or those times when you just met someone

But seems to already know everything about them

All these and more on today's episode of Edge of Wonder

Welcome to Edge of Wonder

I am your host Ben,

And I'm Rob

Since pretty much when we first started this channel

we have been getting so many requests for this one on reincarnation

We have been putting it off

because we didn't want to be the same as what everyone else is doing,

you know throw up a photo of this famous actor from the 1800's who looks like Keanu Reeves.

Speaking of which, I did meet him one day, but that is a different story.

So we could do a whole series on this

because there's so much information

and there is a family that we know whose child remembers a lot of cool stuff…

But she is being a little bit shy so we will keep working on her.

But for this episode we will do this in two parts

one on stories of reincarnation and then one about the history of it in religions

Which will actually blow your mind

So if you are not sure about if reincarnation exists,

then wait to you hear these stories that could have you think in all new ways.

These stories we are sharing are all documented and seem very real.

The story of the incense maker

So one way to see what we might have reincarnated from

is to see what children are interested in

or what they like to do or what they are exceptionally good at.

This can really be a very clear sign.

For example would you know how to make incense without actually learning that process?

Well at a very young age, Purnima from Sri Lanka already could describe the process for manufacturing incense,

which baffled her family

since none of them had any knowledge about incense or were in the business of selling it.

Soon she started to give more details

and told her family that she was a male incense manufacturer by the name of Jinadasa,

and get this, he was struck by a bus and killed years before she was born.

She was even able to provide details on the location of the man's house

and the exact manner in which she was run over by the bus and died.

Now her family didn't know what to think about all of this

until she started talking about Jinadasa's family,

who lived hundreds of miles away.

When Purnima finally met the man's family for the first time,

she recognized all of them,

and even called one of Jinadasa's sisters,

"her younger sister," despite Purnima being younger than her.

The girl also bore birthmarks on the left side of her chest,

in the same spot where Jinadasa had his fatal injuries.

Now on a side many people say that birthmarks are from where they died in their previous life.

Yea there are a lot of stories and research all about this

we will get into it later as we continue on.

But back to the story.

Purnima said "when I saw the family, I realized that rebirth was something real,"

this is according to Real Stories media.

The Nazi airman who died twice

Since the age of 3, Carl Edon had spoken of a previous life as a Nazi airman.

His parents didn't believe he was truly remembering a past life,

but decades later evidence emerged that made them wonder.

Edon was a railway worker in the town of Middlesbrough, northeastern England.

Unfortunately, he met with a tragic end in this life as well as in his alleged past life.

At the age of 22, he was stabbed to death by his work colleague, Gary Vinter.

When Edon was a child, he had visions of being shot down in his Nazi aircraft.

In 1997, two years after Edon was murdered,

a Dornier airplane was unearthed only a few hundred yards from the site of Edon's death.

In 2002, local newspaper The Gazette reported that a local historian had found a photo

of the Nazi airman Heinrich Richter

who crashed and died in that Dornier.

Now the weird thing is that Richter and Edon were strikingly similar in appearance.

This isn't the only odd thing.

The airman's leg had been severed in the crash

and a birthmark was visible on Edon's leg just where it would have been severed in his purported past life,

again showing that the birthmark theory seems very real.

So Richter had been following the rail line when he was killed,

just as Edon had been,

though for different purposes.

Edon's mother, Val, began to wonder whether her son was actually reincarnated as he'd told her.

She told the Gazette: "There are just too many strange coincidences,

and I think if Carl was here he'd be saying 'Do you believe me now'?"

Cuz he was dead at that point.

Exactly

Gone with the Wind

Lee was 2.5 years old, when he started talking about his "other mommy."

When he was 3.5, he started becoming upset

because he couldn't go to his "other house," to get back to work.

This of course would confuse any parent

and but it didn't just stop there.

Soon Lee started to say that his middle name was Coe,

though it wasn't,

and that his birthday was June 26, though it was actually June 21.

He said he had a daughter named Jennifer

I mean this kid is only 3.5 years old

and soon young Lee started to developed an obsession with Hollywood,

because that's where he said he lived.

Wondering if he was really talking about his past life,

his parents asked him what he did in Hollywood.

He told them that he was busy making movies.

They asked if he acted, and he said he didn't, he said he wrote movies.

They started to name off some movies,

and about the 5th one in they named "Gone With the Wind."

Lee said "Yes, that was my movie. I wrote that movie,"

so his family instantly looked up

And was like "gone with the wind"

So they looked up "Gone With the Wind" on the Internet to see who wrote the screenplay

and asked Lee what age he died.

He said 48.

When Lee's parents pulled up all the information online

they were completely at a loss for words.

Not only was the writer's middle name was Coe,

Sidney Coe Howard, he died at 48,

the birthday he had was on June 26,

and he had a daughter by the name of Jennifer, just as Lee said.

Dr. Jim Tucker, a prominent reincarnation researcher at the University of Virginia,

investigated this story

and even wrote it in his book "Return to Life: Extraordinary Cases of Children Who Remember Past Lives."

He has gathered thousands of cases of children

who report memories of past lives

and in many cases, these memories have been verified.

Boy Remembers Wife and Killer of Past Life, Finds Them Again

Now what would you do if you remembered your wife and your killer from a previous life?

Would you take revenge?

Well that is exactly what our next story is about.

On May 9, 1958, in the village of Hatun Köy, Turkey,

Selim Fesli was found dead in a field.

He had been shot in the face and right ear.

His neighbor, Isa Dirbekli, admitted he shot and killed Fesli,

but he said it was by accident, that he was hunting at the time.

In the neighboring village of Sarkonak,

Mrs. Karanfil Tutusmus, was pregnant.

She had a dream in which a man who identified himself as Selim Fesli appeared though he had a bloody face.

As soon as the little boy could talk he insisted that his parents call him Selim Fesli

instead of his given name.

He said he was the reincarnation of Fesli,

and he remembered the names of people from Fesli's life as well as many details from his life,

which were later verified by Fesli's widow.

When the boy was 4 years old, he walked to Fesli's home

and told Fesli's widow, "I am Selim, you are my wife Katibe."

He remembered intimate details of their life together

and the names of their children.

He visited her often, still treating Katibe as his wife

and even Fesli's grown children as his children.

The boy claimed that Dirbekli had intentionally killed him

over a dispute about Fesli's mule grazing in Dirbekli's field.

Dirbekli maintained it was an accident however,

the boy would throw stones at Dirbekli whenever he saw him.

But as he got a bit older he stopped taking violent revenge on him.

Thankfully.

3 year olds can be dangerous.

German therapist Trutz Hardo told this story in his book "Children Who Have Lived Before: Reincarnation Today."

He recounts the story witnessed by the late Dr. Ian Stevenson,

who was a leading researcher at the University of Virginia School of Medicine

on the topic of reincarnation.

Reborn

This is the coolest story

As twins

So this one is very interesting and probably my favorite story.

In 1957 twins Joanna and Jacqueline Pollack were walking together to church

when they were hit by an oncoming car

and were both killed.

Devastated, their parents carried on but wanted nothing more than to have them back.

Their father, John, declared that soon they will have a set of girls.

But of course no one believed them.

Then to everyone's surprise, Florence, their mother, was pregnant again,

and not with only 1 child but 2 girls.

John also kept insisting that their girls would reincarnate

even though Florence was of course very skeptical.

However, after they were born they already noticed similarities.

Jennifer had a white line across her forehead in the exact same spot that Jacqueline had a scar.

The other interesting thing is that she had the same birthmark that Jacqueline had.

The parents increasingly grew more and more convinced

their current daughters were their first daughters.

The family moved when the twins were only babies

and went back to their hometown after they were about 4.

Jennifer and Gillian were able to point out landmarks that Jacqueline and Joanna had been familiar with

and even the school that they had formerly attended.

The girls were also able to correctly name all of the dolls and stuffed animals

that belonged to them in their former life.

Their parents never shared any information with them,

they wanted to see if they were their former daughters or not.

The biggest thing out of all of this was their recurring nightmare about being hit by a car.

When they would see a car coming at them from traffic,

they would yell, "The car is coming to get us!"

From this point on their parents were full convinced

their daughters Gillian and Jennifer were Joanna and Jacqueline.

As the twins grew older they slowly forgot about their previous lives

and couldn't remember much after that.

Famous people remember their past lives

I'm waiting for the part where we get Sylvester Stallone

So the first is Phil Collins

Did you guys know the famous singer Phil Collins remembers his past life during the Battle of the Alamo?

You mean to say "Remembers the Alamo?"

oh my goodness Ben, king of grandpa jokes,

that was so bad.

Well believe it or not ,he does have one of the largest collections of artifacts and documents related to the 1836 battle

where James Bowie, William Travis, and the famed Davy Crockett fell to Mexican invaders.

I wonder if he was Davy Crockett?

So the real interesting thing is during his childhood

he would play with toy soldiers while reenacting the famous battle at the Alamo,

and had an inexplicable urge to burn them.

Weird.

Well I would burn my GI joe guys too, which wasn't that weird at all.

I guess so, I did too

Strap a magnifying glass so I would

Or strap firecracker on it Throw it

At a neighbor, just kidding

But it wasn't till years later that Collin's found out

that the Mexican General ordered the bodies of the defenders to be cremated.

You guys wanna hear something that's kind of cool?

Collins actually has photographs of the Alamo that has glowing orbs in it.

So the next one is Sylvester Stallone

Aside from playing his alter ego Rocky Balboa,

Sylvester Stallone said that he has a strong affinity with the wolf

and that he lost his head in the French Revolution.

I mean literally lost his head.

In a 1982 interview with people magazine, he said

"I'd been reading about the Jacobins [the political radicals of the French Revolution] and that period,

and when somebody at a party said how awful it must be to be guillotined,

I found myself saying, 'Oh no, it doesn't hurt.

You don't feel anything—except your head hits the basket…and that's it.'

My friend said, 'You're ill, Stallone.'

Perhaps, but I truly felt I knew what I was talking about.

Right. That's enough quoting

Sylvester in that accent.

That's pretty good.

When Stallone was asked would like to come back as

he said "Without question I'd want to be the heavyweight champion of the world."

Isn't that cute

The next is Napoleon Bonaparte

Napoleon Bonaparte is famous for conquering much of Europe in the early 19th century.

He visualized himself as an heir of the Roman emperors,

and even imitated the mannerisms of an emperor.

However, Napoleon had a deep fascination with King Charlemagne,

who was king from 768-800 AD and he is considered the "Father of Europe",

and even on his coronation he had his crown look similar to what Charlemagne had worn.

He also had Charlemagne's exact sword used at the ceremony.

However, this doesn't seem to be an ordinary fascination,

Napoleon also regarded himself as the reincarnation of Charlemagne.

In 1809, Napoleon told the papal representatives that in a previous life he was Charlemagne.

George S. Patton

So we already covered him on our third eye episode,

if you haven't seen it, make sure you check it out,

but one person who seems to remember more of his past lives and with great detail than most people,

General George S. Patton,

who was the great General during World War II.

He wrote a book of poems titled "Through a Glass, Darkly,"

where he describes many of his past lives and how he fought in all of them

with first fighting alongside Alexander the Great at the Siege of Tyre.

He then writes about another incarnation when he slayed Parthians with his Gladius,

a sword approximately 25-32 inches long

and then he said he was a Viking warrior on his way to Valhalla.

Then his next life he was a French knight fighting the English under Edward III,

most notably at Crecy.

And then Patton said he was then was a Scottish Highlander during the third English Civil War,

supporting the Stuarts after the death of Charles I.

In one of his last visions he had he was Joachim Murat

who was one of Napoleon's marshals

and one of the most capable cavalry officers

and leaders in service to the French Emperor.

And of course there is a whole theory out there that he is now reincarnated as….Yes

president Trump

They do kind of look alike.

They do, flash that

So anyway what do you guys think?

These were some really amazing stories, right?

there were so many more but we will have to end it here.

So Ben what do you think?

Actually I never believed too much in past lives,

it wasn't kind of until recently where I started to kind of having an idea

where I thought I might actually know some of mine are

Wow I think this might actually exists.

the very first books I ever checked at the library

I was at second grade

was the lost city of Atlantis and about the Bermuda Triangle.

So I always believed that I had a past life during the time pf the Atlantis

What about you?

I definitely absolutely think the reincarnation exists,

I think there is a reason for all of that right.

There's too many people that remember their past lives,

and the feeling of Deja Vu,

when you come across a place you've been to before is so striking

that it's hard to deny that something like that exists.

I remember being in Hawaii at the Hawaiian airport

and feeling like I've been there before.

It was like nothing I felt like before, not like that.

Yeah, actually when we went to South Korea,

I've never been there before.

I was walking around in this place, I was like, I've been here before.

Wow

I just knew where things were,

so for me it definitely exists,

which is why we wanted to do these episodes.

But we will go way more into the history

and all kinds of cool and fascinating things.

You guys are probably wondering why reincarnation exists.

We're gonna go into that next so stay tuned,

and also don't forget to hit like and subscribe,

and hit the notifications bell for more great episodes.

Right and until then we will see you out…

on the edge… of the past

Why a Ketogenic Diet Is Good for You|HFE♪ - Duration: 7:47.

Why a Ketogenic Diet Is Good for You

While it may be tough at first for your body to get used to a ketogenic diet during the first few weeks, but later it will stabilize and you'll see the benefits.

Have you been hearing people talk about ketogenic diets lately? If not, or if you have any questions about why it's good for you, continue reading to find out.

You'll learn — and probably find it quite interesting — how it may help you get healthier and reach your desired weight.

How does a ketogenic diet work? The ketogenic diet basically gets the liver to produce enough ketones for them to be used as an energy source.

This goes by the name "ketosis." Normally, your body produces insulin for energy.

However, this can cause glucose spikes when you eat too many carbs or have unhealthy habits.

In order for this to take place properly, you need to eat foods containing high quality animal and vegetable fat.

A keto diet reduces excess body fat In a ketogenic diet, fat is used as energy instead of being stored in your body.

This means that the fat deposits you already have will be used up and you will lose weight.

Combine this diet with exercise if you want to tone your muscles and get rid of flab as well.

See a nutritionist before starting the diet.

They will teach you which kinds of fat to eat and how much.

It will stabilize your insulin levels The increased levels of ketones in your body will lower your blood sugar, which is good for insulin resistance and lowering your risk of type 2 diabetes.

Consider a keto diet if your doctor has told you that you have prediabetes or metabolic syndrome.

Also ask about ketone supplements and if they're right for you.

There are several types on the market that can help speed up the glucose regulation process.

But remember that it is not a good idea to take supplements or medication without a doctor's supervision.

It will be easier to lose weight A ketogenic diet is excellent for weight loss because it reduces your appetite and controls cravings.

In addition, since you'll be consuming more healthy fat and protein, your body will stop being so dependent on glucose for energy and you'll feel satisfied with fewer calories.

Because fat is metabolized in the absence of carbohydrates, overweight people are able to lose weight more quickly and without the risk of losing muscle mass.

Still, it's important to mantain good habits once you've reached your weight loss goal.

A ketogenic diet is good for your blood Since it means consuming fewer carbs, a keto diet will help keep your triglycerides at normal levels and increase your levesl of HDL (good cholesterol).

This translates into: A lower risk of cardiovascular illnesses and disease.

A lower risk of arterial blockage.

Normalization of blood pressure.

To enhance these effects, make sure to eat only lean meat, and make sure you are consuming high quality oil and fat sources.

You'll feel satisfied with less food Your body will be satisfied longer with less food when you follow a ketogenic diet and consume more protein as recommended.

It's a perfect if you want to lose weight.

Side effects of a ketogenic diet Like any other diet, the keto diet has side effects that you should consider.

They are: Feeling generally unwell Your body will have to get used to utilizing ketones in place of insulin, so the initial weeks may be tough.

You will experience: Headache Tiredness Dizziness Nausea Lightheadedness This is also due to your glucose levels getting stabilized, especially if you have diabetes.

So make sure to talk with your doctor and nutritionist if you have any questions.

If you have diabetes, you'll also need to be constantly monitoring your blood sugar.

Constipation People who begin a ketogenic diet sometimes forget to eat enough vegetables.

If that's you, then you'll probably have trouble going to the bathroom.

The most effective way to prevent or treat constipation is to drink enough water on a daily basis.

Additionally, you should be careful to increase your consumption of fiber-rich food.

Tiredness With this diet, your body will be taking in less energy in the form of glucose.

Therefore, it makes sense that it will take time to get used to burning fat instead.

The learning process can make you feel tired or like you have no energy all the time.

If you exercise a lot, try to lower the intensity in your first weeks on the diet and work out with a partner to make sure that you're ok as your body gets accustomed.

Are you excited to try out the ketogenic diet? Are you already on it? What do you think about it?  .

This is why you don't play Quiplash around your mom - Duration: 6:11.

It's been a while since I've played Quiplash so my answers are probably gonna be

pretty terrible for the first couple times.

Hmmmm...

"Time's running out!"

I know it is, and I can't think of a good thing for- this is a difficult-

oh no I might have to do a Safety Quip and see what it gives me.

Oh good old Safety Quip, why'd you do that to me?

Too much hair gel, thank you.

Thank you for the pity votes.

"The scariest challenge that was never done on Fear Factor."

Talk - make an appointment on the phone.

Oh look at me still in last place, I'm diggin it. I'm diggin it, I like that fifth place.

It's my favorite place to be.

I'm not crying you're crying.

Let's see what my brain can do, boys.

Christ almighty Studdmufins.

Ohhhhh neither of those answers were good but they still made me laugh.

They're sleepy.... If they're too fast they die [laughter]

If they go over 5 mph their insides just burn up. Too fast!

"Too." [laughter] Who ran out of time?

An ordinary melon baller can also be used for- EWWWWW... [laughter]

Wow rest in peace you, your nuts are tiny but you know... [snorting]

They're so petite. [laughter]

GSD? You know what, I'm just going to go with my original answer.

It is neither witty nor clever nor funny.

A great sugar dick, wow that's... that's my kind of dick right there. [snorting]

That's the best my mind could come up with, was God saves deeznuts. [laughter]

Yikes, that's a yikes from me- did that just win the game?!

Oh my god, this question.

Nein mustache or mein mustache? So no mustache. Or mein face saddle. [laughter]

I like how I'm still laughing at my own joke.

Okay here's my thought process was okay mustache... mustache rides... how can I make this something to do with him?

Will you be my f buddy? [laughter]

What if you that was what you already were to begin with - it's like okay, we're already f buddies what are you doing?

It's the same thing, you just have a ring now.

"Til death do we climax." [laughter]

............. how did you both come to the conclusion that the

worst thing to put on a cake would be sh*t.

Wowwww... you guys had the same idea.

"It's the final round. There's just one prompt and you're all getting it!"

I really hope it's not a comic one.

Because I'm not great at those- oh it's an acronym one, I'm also not great at those.

TTT- oooooh

I don't know what this means but I like it. I think- I think we could come up with

some- some really good ones for this. Okay, before I even look at all of them how

many you want to bet have the word t*t or t*tty in it? Six out of eight.

T*t touching teachers, oh my god. [laughter] T*ts for everyone!

Triple t*tty touchdown, it came to me immediately-

I like how Terrible Terrible Try, literally the only one without

the word t*t in it, was the one that got the most votes. I see we have people of culture here. [laughter]

Ooh! Did I win two in a row? Oh my god I'm actually doing well.

I know, I never get two in a row, usually- mein face saddle [laughter]

Hey guys you know how I was doing really well and I had two wins in a row?

Yeah, that's going away. [laughter]

Wait, what?? A job that doesn't exist but surely would have the highest death rate if it did-

dinosaur sp- oh god I just spit because of that, that's how funny that was.

S*xy... God I'm the s*xiest streamer you've ever seen... the hottest twitch thot around.

A "real" estate agent or Suzy from "definitely not corrupt real estate [laughter]

I feel like these are in the same vein.

"I love how they never close the quote" [laughter] ...That's because I didn't have room. [laughter]

A rumor that other birds have about the ostrich. "Community theatre?"

Heaven forbid it does community theatre. How dare that ostrich have a thriving social life in community theatre.

It's not just blue balls, it's spider blue balls.

What is the difference though, between spider-man blue balls and blue balls?

Just out of curiosity, it's my own answer but I don't even know.

"One's full of eggs," ohhhhh no... I guess it would be because it's a spider sac, right? Oh I didn't think of that.

He must have eggs in there. He must have little spider eggs in his little spider sac.

"My spider sack is tingling." Let's see if I can bring it back with this one.

Is it this one? No, this is not mine.

"Your mom jokes." Oh yeah you would die immediately. "This on the day of my

daughter's wedding. Oh dare you. On the day of my mother's

funeral. How dare you??

"Why won't you leave?"

Oh man I'm sweatin'.

Um..... [laughter] "All right, here's the board, present your medals now."

Okay I never say the word, the C word. I never say that word. I never say that... but I had to.

I was gonna say you tw*t waffle but that didn't have the same feel to it.

So I had to say the c muffin. You liked the tw*t waffle answer? Oh hi mom [laughter]

Sorry I said the C word. [laughter] Hey does anybody want to tell my mom about how I'm such a

good Christian innocent streamer? I would never say inappropriate things

especially during a Jackbox stream... never never........ anyway

Jughead Inspired Crochet Headband | Riverdale | TuTu Ep 59 - Duration: 19:11.

hey crafters welcome to this week's - - it's Amanda here so it's crazy to

believe that's actually October we're like fully into fall does not feel like

fall whether you're quiet yet but you know I've got up some of my decorations

from last week's - - so it's definitely helping me get in the fall spirit so

fall is out of my favorite times of year I love fall and you may not like fall

but you may like some new shows and things that come out and fall I feel

like Falls but a lot of like you know you have like a lot of good movies like

Disney usually releases something around Thanksgiving and it's always like new TV

show starting up with the school year so over this summer when my cousins were in

town which if you want to hear the full stir in that pull like that card up

there but anyways when they were in town we spent a lot of time watching TV shows

and they introduced us to Riverdale and so you know I had a blast watching the

show with my cousin's and while Riverdale wasn't really like my kind of

a show it's definitely filled with lots of unforgettable characters whether you

love him or you hate them you can't forget them I think it's so cool the way

it's like built off the comics because some of their traits and there you know

clothing styles carry over into the show one of my cousin's favorite characters

is the lovable Jughead and what is his signature look both in

the TV series and of the comics and yes that is a spunky little hat with the

points limit so the Hat it's kind of like a beanie but it has these like

quints on it that look kind of like a crown and when I was going to film this

video I actually did a little bit of like googling and I found an article by

seventeen column where they actually kind of explained some of the history

behind the Hat which is actually kind of cool it's called a whoopee cap and

basically in the 1940s when the comics came out this was a popular hat style

because factory workers would basically cut up their hats and they could see

from what I understand from the article and then they passed the Hat so long to

her son so anyways that's kind of the story behind jugheads funky-looking hat

anyway today we're not going to be making a full-on Jughead hat but we are

going to be making a headband that's kind of that same kind of style that's

been inspired by his hat

so here's a sneak peek at what we're making today you come in there's lots of

different ways I like it because you don't have to go with like a full-on hat

and have it covering your hair and everything you can style it more like a

headband but it also very much still looks like his hat and got that

signature book so people probably still be able to recognize that wait is that

like jugheads hat so this is what we're making a day it does employ some

Tunisian crochet techniques so if you crochet then I would definitely

recommend you try to pick up Tunisian crochet lots of fun I mean even if you

don't crochet Tunisian crochet can be mastered and I know you can get the hang

of it I've got some tutorials I'll link those up there again but for those of

you who already are familiar with Tunisian crochet let's jump into the

tutorial to make your very own jughead inspired headband so today for this

project I'm using a size H crochet hook and because we're using the interlocked

technique you don't need to actually get a Tunisian hook you can use a normal

sort crochet hook but yarn I'm going to be using is vanish twice and I'm not

sure in the color of this it's obviously a great color but I'll try to find out

what color this is and I'll put it in the description down below now this

project does assume that you already know how to work interlocked Tunisian

crochet so if you hear me saying that you're like um I don't know how to do

that then go ahead and click that card right up there in my opinion it's

actually one of the easiest Tunisian patterns to get into and again if you're

not familiar with Tunisian crochet if you already know how to crochet then

Tunisian crochet is really easy to pick up and again I'll put some cards up

there so you can go find out how to make it if you don't know how to do these

things I'm talking about however because I already have some video showing those

steps I didn't want to spend time in this video teaching through all those

things so this tutorial is going to be based on the assumption that you already

know how to work Tunisian interlac crochet so as you can see here I have

already worked the first row of a Tunisian entrelac pattern

and when I'm in my blocks there each five stitches wide by five rows across

and when I count them I'm counting this side edge here as a stitch so one two

three four five and six now I chose to do this with the Tunisian simple stitch

but you could easily do this in a purl stitch or a knit stitch I think a knit

stitch would be really cool we just help give it more of that knit retro kind of

look to the headband but I just went with a simple stitch and I'm happy with

how it ends up looking so again I did six stitches across and six rows high

and that sixth row is the finishing row so what I did was because my head's kind

of small and just because of the size of yarn and hook that I'm using I did eight

of these blocks and I came to the end if your head is not really small like mine

is you will probably want to do more however what is nice is the entry like

does have a good bit of stretch despite being so dense so you do have a little

bit of play with it if you're not sure how many blocks to do start working some

blocks hold it around your head and see if you think it's gonna work but I am

using eight blocks for this pattern so if we look at where I'm at I just

finished that sixth row where I work the slip stitch across so you get to the end

of my chain and actually what I'm going to do is I'm going to undo this last

slip stitch so I'm going to pull that out through there and put this loop back

on my hook so normally what I would do to finish this block and to finish this

row is I would insert my hook through here yarn over and pull through

everything however what I need to do now is I need to join it to the other end of

this interlock so to do this I'm going to spread this out and then I'm gonna

kind of fold it in half the trick here is you want to make sure you don't have

any twists in it so I'm going to put it so that way all of these simple stitch

the front face side of that is face to face so simple stitch front side simple

stitch front side put those together and I'm just kind of lining up my blocks to

make sure that I don't have any twists in this

object I'm actually gonna flip this over this way so that way the side I'm

working on is on the top now what I'm going to do is I'm going to go through

so I'm going to insert my hook through this end chain like I normally would and

then to join it to the other end I'm going to also insert my hook through

this very bottom corner so you might not be sure quite where in the corner to

come the thing with coming in the corner if it's not huge if you're off one way

or the other it's obviously best to get the very corner but if you're off to one

side or the other then the key to fixing that is to just be consistent throughout

your work so I'm gonna find the corner this piece right here and I'm going to

insert my hook through that so you can see the order the loops are on my hook

this is the top of that last stitch this is the very last chain from starting and

this is that stitch right there in the corner and once I've got all those three

loops on my hook I'm going to yarn over and pull through

all three and that is going to join them together so now I'm going to have this

big loop here so next I'm going to kind of inside this out so that way the

simple stitch pattern is facing towards me so just like this and I need to get

to a corner so I'm going to slip stitch along the side until I'm up in the

corner so I'm going to do a total of one two three four five six slip stitches

and once I find myself in this corner it's kind of like I'm at the corner of

an interlocked block and like I'm going to work a block in this space here but

we're going to work on making the flat side of this so we're going to work a

triangle that's going to use some decreases so I will walk you through

that process and if you already know how to do and relax this is gonna be a piece

of cake to get the hang up so I'm going to start working a row of simple

stitches across except I'm not gonna come under these bars here I'm gonna

come in the top of these stitches here so I'm just gonna insert in the top

there yarn over and pull up a loop go to the

next one inside my hook you're an over and pull up a loop and I'm going to get

six loops on my hook so now I have six loops on my hook now I want to come in

this seventh one inside my hook and I'm going to pull it through two and that's

again pretty similar to how you would work a normal block here and I'm going

to keep working across you're an over pull through two yarn over pull through

two yarn over pull through two and do that until I'm left with three loops on

my hook and now to create this flat edge when I get down to just three loops on

my hook I'm going to yarn over and pull through all three and then I'm going to

work my next row so I'm not gonna come in right here or this one right there

I'm gonna come to this buck right here come underneath pull up a loop

come to the next one pull up a loop come to the next one pull up a loop and come

to this last spot and pull up a loop so I'm going to work across and pull up

loops until I have five on my hook and then that means it's time to insert in

the side of this next block so I'm just gonna find the next stitch up and insert

my hook through there and I'm gonna yarn over and I'm gonna pull it through this

side block and through this first loop on my hook and then I'm going to repeat

the yarn over pull through two pattern until I'm left with just three loops on

my hook and whenever I get down to just those three loops yarn over and pull

through all three of them so next we're gonna keep working this pad in the same

way you can already see it starting to work this flatter side here so don't

come in there don't come in there come in kind of like that third post if you

want to think of it like that and this time I'm only going to pull up

four loops so once I've got four on the hook I'm going to work in the side here

so when I come in the side I'm going to yarn over pull it through the side and

pull it through that first loop and then yarn over pull through two well now

we're just left with three on the hook so pull through all three do this again

I'm gonna pull up a loop here pull up a loop here this time I'm only going to

end up with three loops on my hook and then that's gonna tell me to go in the

side again insert my hook through the side yarn over pull through the side

block and that first one and look there we go I've got three loops left on my

hook so pull through all three and this time we're going to do this where we

only pull up one more loop so now we have two loops on the hook we're going

to insert through here and we're gonna pull it through everything on our hook

and now we've finished filling in this triangle so we just need to work a slip

stitch in our next spot to get to the next corner so work a slip stitch right

there and now we're going to repeat that same exact process I'll show you again

so again with this first round we pull up five additional loops to end up with

six on our hook and remember we're not working through these loops there we're

not working through that post we're gonna work through the top loops of the

block so inside the hook pull up a loop two three four and five so once we have

six loops on our hook we're going to insert in the first stitch on the side

of this next block yarn over and pull through the side block and the first

loop on the hook and then yarn over pull through two yarn over pull through two

yarn over pull through two we're left with just three on the hook so that

tells us to yarn over and pull through everything and then this time we're

going to pull up four loops so don't come in either these first post come in

this third one right here inside the hook pull up a loop inside the hook pull

up a loop inside the hook pull up a loop inside the hook pull up a loop so this

time we're only going to get five on our hook and then once we have five that

tells us to go in the side of our next block yarn over pull through the side of

the block in that first loop and then yarn over and pull through two loops

until we're left with just three loops on the hook yarn over pull through all

three and then our next row so this time the last row we picked up four more

loops this time we're only going to pick up three more loops so basically each

time we're decreasing on this right side

okay once we pull up our three additional loops for a total of four

we're gonna put work in the side of the next block so insert our hook yarn over

pull through that side block and the first loop there then you're an over

pull through two and we're already left with just three on our hook so yarn over

pull through all three and we've just got a couple more rows to

do to finish this off this time we're only pulling up two additional loops so

one and two now it's time to work on the side of our block and then we're gonna

pull it through the side block and that first loop yarn over pull through all

three and then for this last one we're going to pull up one loop work in the

side of the block and pull through everything on our hook and so that

finishes up this one so the last thing we need to do to fasten this side of the

corner down is to work a slip stitch in this next spot and the side block so

here you can see it's starting to form we're getting the flat side with the

crown that has these little points all along it and I'm going to keep working

this around and then I'll show you something on the last block all right

here I am at my very last block I've come all the way around so far and I'm

on my very last block and I started working on this last triangle and I've

pulled up the first four of the first five stitches I pull up but there's a

couple things I want to talk about because if you're really easy to make a

little mistake here and then end up with a really wonky looking head pin so the

first thing we want to be aware of is make sure that there aren't any twists

in the head bin a really easy check is to first of all look if you have the

simple stitch side face up on both sides if we look here we have a simple stitch

side up here but on this side that lets us know that oh there's a twist so if we

look down here we can see that we've got to work this twist back out and just

because you do see both sides with simple side up it could actually twist

it twice so definitely check and make sure that the headband itself isn't

twisted because if it's twisted it obviously is not going to be good so

once I've got it untwisted just gonna kind of reorient myself that okay here's

where I'm working and I just want to mention a couple things because we're

gonna be working kind of where we did the slip stitch and we did a bunch of

slip stitches going up a side so if you just be a little

looking so I'm just gonna walk you through this last triangle so I've put

on my first for the first five loops I pull up so this fifth one is going to

come in right down here

okay so now I've got six loops on the hook the trick to figure out where to

next insert your hook is to insert it under the next available V that shows

you that it's the top of a chain so I'm going to insert my hook right under this

one here now once I insert my hook I'm going to yarn over pull it through that

and pull it through the first loop on my hook and then we're gonna finish this

row off just the same way we do where we pull through - until we get to the last

three and then we pull through all three of those so again well show you on this

next row so pull up our first four for this row

and then when we pull up that fifth one that's going to be in the side look for

that slip stitch you're actually working underneath that slip stitch right there

it's best to work under the slip stitch if you're able because it just kind of

hides the slip stitch and blends everything together really well so then

again I'm going to pull through the side that slip stitch there and pull through

the first loop and then repeat the pattern to get to the end right pull

through two and then the very last time pull through three

so here we are we're getting to this last row here come under there you never

pull through all three and the very last thing you want to do is do one more slip

stitch in the next spot through and then yarn over pull through again pull this

tight pull this loop through cut the loop pull the tail out through and snug

this up really nice and then our headband is done except for needing to

weave in these tail ends and here is the finished look once we weave in the ends

what's also fun about this is you can leave it with the simple stitch side out

you could instead choose to do something like a knit stitch or you can flip it so

that way the back side is out whatever look you are going for but now you have

a jugheads Hat inspired headband and there you have it now you can work on

making your very own headband inspired by jugheads hat just in time for the

season's premiere so you've only got eight more days until the first episodes

comes out so get to work on this project before the season comes out and then

this pattern is kind of cool because it has a like retro vibe to it but retro

was like always you know in style so it's kind of like retro but also trendy

so I don't know it's just kind of fun let me know in the comments below if you

like the way this turns out and if you think it's a cool fandom project or not

I'd love to hear your thoughts down below also make sure that you don't

forget to leave a thumbs up on the video and then if you haven't already

y'all in on a little secret I've got like my nice top on I've got

a necklace and I'm wearing pajama pants I'm wearing this is kind of plaid you

probably can't really see it and this is plaid I'm wearing plaid on plaid because

I'm your host, Anne Ganguzza, with my VO BOSS bes-tay, Gabby Nistico.

Hey, Gabby.

Gabby: Hi.

Anne: [laughs] Gabby, we have a super special guest with us today, voice talent entrepreneur

and actually, I'm super, super excited, our very first like legit fan, Gabby, is with

us today.

[laughs] Or let's just say, maybe not our very first fan, but the first fan who actually

reached out and like sent us mail.

Gabby: Yes, we got fan mail.

Anne: Physical mail.

I loved it.

Gabby: And little caricatures.

And I love them.

Anne: It was so awesome, and it, it really speaks a lot about who he is and, and you

know, entrepreneur voice talent, way to network, and I think this gentleman networks I think

better than anybody I've seen of late, because I track him quite heavily on Facebook.

Welcome to the show Danny Galvez.

Danny: Oh my God, I'm fangirling over here.

Just give me a second.

[pretend hyperventilating] I can't, I can't, it's Anne and Gabby!

Oh my God.

[normal voice] I'm about ready to shriek, so y'all get ready for it.

Gabby: OK, that's fine.

Anne: Shrieking.

Gabby: Shrieking contest.

Anne: Shrieking is always good.

Danny: Shrieking is wonderful.

Anne: [in New Jersey accent] Danny, Danny, I got to tell you something.

Danny: Yes.

Anne: [in accent] We got someone that needs to say hello to you.

Danny: Oh, who's that?

Gabby: [chicken noises]

Danny: Is that my chicken?

Anne: [laughs]

Danny: Is that my chicken?

Anne: [in accent] Danny, Danny, who's got the chicken now?

Who's got your chicken?

[laughs]

Danny: You know, you think that's funny.

I just got the chicken, and I had this whole thing lined out, and I bring it, of all places,

you think corporate's going to be a very safe place.

I work in the mortgage industry, and you think, "hey, it should be safe here."

I'm going to leave it on my desk.

That sucker got kidnapped before noon and blew apart my marketing plan for the day on

social media.

Gabby: [chicken noises]

Anne: I watch you every day.

You Facebook Live I think every single day, and so I believe it was this morning's episode,

or yesterday's episode where you acquired a chicken.

[laughs]

Danny: mm-hmm, yes.

Anne: You acquired a wonderful chicken friend, and today, that chicken was abducted.

And so your Facebook Live this morning was roaming around the office.

Gabby: Who does this?

Who steals a man's chicken?

Who does this?

Danny: I don't know.

Anne: It says so much about who you are and what a great networker and what a great business

networker, entrepreneur, and I'd love to talk to you more about that and, and, like give

us your story.

Tell us a little bit about your history and how you came upon voiceover and entrepreneurship.

Danny: And we'll get back to the chicken thing.

Gabby: We will, because I need to know who the suspects are.

Do we have any leads?

Danny: I do have some leads.

And I know --

Anne: [laughs]

Danny: -- they left me a very cryptic message today, and what they did was -- have you ever

seen the movies where they do, they do uh -- they leave the cryptic messages, but it's

done with like cutouts from a magazine?

Anne: Ransom note.

Gabby: Sure.

Every Liam Neeson movie ever, yeah, got it.

Danny: Yes.

"I don't know who you are, but I'm," you know, it's like -- that's exactly what – "I've

got your chicken.

I'm coming for you."

Anne: The last I saw, there were tweezers.

Danny: Yeah, so they took a picture of the chicken, and there were tweezers in its mouth,

because they were going to pluck out its squeaker.

And the reason why this happened, somebody kidnapped it, and I'll give you a reason.

You'll probably agree with them after I tell you what happened.

We have about 65 people at our corporate office in Dallas, and they're pretty, pretty reserved

people, but I'm a little outside the box.

They let me have long hair.

I, you know, get to do pretty much what I want because I'm a recruiter by day for the

home office, but I went around the room, every single office, and I was using the chicken.

And I do that for the internal group as well that we have on Facebook for Southwest Funding,

so it is more of a morale booster, and also to stay connected with my colleagues.

And apparently some of them didn't appreciate it, so they jacked my chicken.

Took him out.

[chicken noises]

Danny: I didn't mean it like that.

I'll leave the context there.

Anne: [laughs]

Gabby: It takes a particular type of [bleep] to steal a man's chicken, and then ransom

the chicken.

And they're going to pay, man.

Anne: Danny, Danny, we're with you.

We're with you.

Danny: I want you to help it with the chicken dance --

Anne: Yes.

Danny: -- because that's what the ransom note said.

The ransom note said, "if you want your chicken back, you will meet at high noon."

They didn't say noon.

They said high noon like we're in the wild, wild west, and I have to meet in the lobby

of our corporate office and do the chicken dance on Facebook Live.

So I'm going to get to see my chicken again.

I will be reunited with it, and I can continue all of my marketing efforts.

But umm…so back to questions.

Sorry, I do have ADD a little bit, but I come from a family of five kids, and Gabby, I know

you live in North Carolina.

We lived in Jacksonville.

Yeah, it's not bad.

It's OK, if you want to say armpit, go ahead.

It's fine.

Gabby: It's a military town.

I mean, it's a cool... we know how those go.

Danny: Lots of coming and going.

Yeah, there's just lots of, lots of traffic, but you do meet a lot of people.

I lived there for about eight years, and got to live in Hawaii and Guam, and Japan, and

I finally took myself to Wisconsin and graduated from high school.

And I auditioned for radio school.

I'm just going to go to radio school because that's what you should do when you can't stay

in college.

That's what took me into radio land, so I did that for about 17 years, worked various

positions.

And I was a morning show stunt guy, went streaking naked one morning in Wisconsin.

I think it was wintertime.

Gabby: Oh, I bet that was fun.

Anne: And then one time --

Danny: Winter in Wisconsin, and then one time, after band camp --

Anne: After radio camp, I --

[Anne and Danny laugh]

Gabby: How many appendages did you lose streaking in Wisconsin in the winter?

That's uh... wow.

Anne: ooo.

Danny: You have to assume there is an appendage after being in Wisconsin in the winter.

Anne: brr, brr!

[women laugh]

Danny: I will just say that.

I almost got arrested by the police officers, so that was a -- I kind of went through like

the busiest intersection, and this was like my first lesson in -- I was probably about

23, 24 years old, and that was my first lesson in discretion.

And school was still in full swing, and I was stripped down to my underwear, and I'm

standing at this busy intersection.

There's a Walgreens, there's a bowling alley, and then there're a couple of restaurants

on the opposite corners, and I'm like, "you know, I'm just going to make a square.

I'm going to run across the street in a square."

The radio station got complaints about the fact that there was a naked man streaking

through the intersection, and um the cops did go to the station, the radio station,

and uh I avoided detection, umm...

I didn't last long at that job, but I sure did have fun.

I had a really good time.

[women laugh]

Danny: So, so that's where I learned about discretion because there were children in

the cars on the way to school.

Gabby: I think it's a rite of passage in radio, though.

Mine, mine came from my, my, you know, brush with police decorum, was probably about the

same age, early 20's, and, and learned real fast that you don't look at the police officers

and say, "but, but, but I'm the DJ!"

That doesn't get you out of trouble.

That does absolutely nothing to help.

Danny: [laughs]

Gabby: They don't really care much.

Danny: They don't care.

They [laughs] they're reading to take somebody to jail that day.

"You want to be naked?

OK, you're going to jail."

Anne: [laughs]

Gabby: But, but, but, but, [goes into chicken noise]

Anne: [laughs] OK.

After radio, how did you, how did you evolve into your voiceover, and also your day job?

Danny: OK, yeah, so great question.

Um you know looking back at it, and you know, you probably understand this from -- because

I know you guys talk about like pay scales and things like that.

We try to tell our kids, "hey, listen, go be a doctor first, and then you can be a DJ."

And that's, that's kind of the mentality.

I'm like, "if I would have known about being a loan officer, I would have gone and made

loan officer money, and then I could have done some really cool things as a DJ," you

know.

When you're young, you follow your passion, you go naked.

So um, so --

[women laugh]

Danny: A rite of passage, like you said, Gabby.

Back in 2009, the recession pretty much hit the state of Texas.

In the rural market where I live -- I live in Longview, Texas.

There's about 80,000 people that live in that town.

At that point, if you were in radio in a market like that, more than likely they were going

to cut you and pipe in a different show because they could.

So, and that's what happened to me.

They said "sorry, you can't work here anymore."

I was like, "well, can I voice track?"

They were like "no, we don't even want you in the building."

I was a little confused because I was like, I never stripped naked at that station.

It was a country station.

People was like God, family, church, football, America.

And ended up making a jump to a hip-hop station in a talk format, and I was a sales rep.

One of my few clients in 2009 was a mortgage company, and he wanted to do his own radio

show every week.

So that's the niche that I filled, and um I got beat down in radio sales.

It was a, it was a brutal, brutal experience, and I had two young kids at the time, and

my wife would give me that look that all wives give to their husbands.

Um I made a jump.

I got offered a job.

One of my clients said, "hey, I like the way you do business.

Do you want to come and work for me?"

That's my, that's my short journey, but in between that, I started deploying my own tactics

and starting side hustles.

I've got three children.

That was my motivation.

I ended up starting a mobile DJ company back in 2009, so I do that locally.

I do a lot of weddings.

Probably do about 40 to 50 of those a year, and then back in 2013 I picked up audiobooks

through ACX.

I started cutting my teeth narrating audiobooks on a royalty share.

Gabby: Tell us more about that.

You know, a lot of our audience is definitely intrigued by audiobooks, wants to know more

about them.

It's not a topic that Anne and I talk about very often, so um yeah, feel free to elaborate.

Danny: Absolutely.

I was looking for a way to carve out something for myself and my family, a legacy, and that's

what prompted it.

I also wanted to have something for my family that they could be proud of, but also something

that I could do where I could still be there with my family.

And so I built out my studio, and then I started going through ACX's website and finding out

what the parameters are and the instructions are for submitting audiobooks, how to audition,

how to market.

The great thing about ACX too is they have all of the contracts done, so there's not

really much that you have to, have to know in terms of well, you know, well, what about

this and what about that?

Let's talk about royalty share real quick.

So the agreement is this.

You have authors out there that are writing books.

And well, Gabby, you've got a book, right?

Gabby: I have a couple, yeah.

[laughs]

Danny: Yeah.

Have y'all put yours on audiobook yet?

Gabby: No, I won't, I won't narrate my own.

[laughs]

Danny: I mean, I could do a Gabby Nistico, if you want.

I mean, I can be Gabby Nistico.

Anne: Uh-oh.

Gabby: [laughs]

Danny: I mean, you know what?

Listen, you know, [bleep] these wires and [bleep] everything that's in here, and where's

my chicken?

I want my [bleep] chicken.

Anne: [laughs]

Gabby: Yeah, I said something similar on my wedding day.

So yeah, that sounds about right, yeah.

Anne: [laughs]

Gabby: Kind of, kind of like an excerpt from my vows.

That was good.

Anne: An excerpt from your vows. [laughs]

Gabby: I know I said [bleep] at least four times, and there was definitely a reference

to a chicken, so it's pretty close.

We're going to go with it.

Danny: [laughs]

Anne: What kind of show is this?

[Anne and Danny laugh]

Anne: So back onto the topic of, of royalty share, was it working for you?

I mean, how long, how many books did you record, you know, with royalty share and how did that

work?

Danny: OK, so that's, that's a great question with royalty share.

I went in, and I submitted auditions.

That's the first thing.

So it's a numbers game.

Anything you do, you have to hit the numbers.

I said, "OK, I'm just going to audition for any low hanging fruits."

I thought, this would be a good transition for me.

So I auditioned for a book about money, um and I landed that audition pretty well.

It was probably about a 37, 38-minute book.

Anne: We love that topic.

[laughs]

Danny: Oh, money?

Money, yeah.

All day long, all day long, and it was OK.

It wasn't, it wasn't well-written.

I think it was ghost-written, and you, and you find a lot of that, but in terms of royalty

share, the agreement is this.

ACX distributes to Amazon, Audible, and iTunes.

Their split, their cut is they take 60% of your money.

You get 40%, so that means the author or the rights, the rights holder of the book, is

paid 20%, and the narrator, who agrees to a royalty share deal, is paid another 20%.

It's pretty much the even split.

The great thing is ACX manages all the payroll and things of that nature.

You're paid once a month.

In terms of distribution, it pretty much goes around the world, so you might be heard in

Germany.

You might be heard in the U.K. Books in the U.K., by the way, audiobooks, don't sell as

much as they do in the United States.

Anne: Are you marketing those books as well?

Danny: Yeah, not actively.

And that's, and that's another thing that I've learned from this journey.

Anne: Don't they encourage you to help sell the book?

Danny: They do.

They do, and I will tell you this, that I have been a [bleep] narrator partner.

That's, that's what I've concluded.

Anne: [laughs]

Danny: If we're being honest about it --

Anne: I've come to the conclusion that --

Danny: I'm a [bleep] narrator partner, but the experience has been great.

And I've, I've done educational books.

Romance seems to do very well.

Some of those things written in those books, I haven't said for 20 years.

[women laugh]

Danny: I will tell you a story real quick.

So my wife, at my wife's suggestion, she was the one who suggested, you know, she's like,

"you know what?

Maybe you should do romance, because it's" -- she does research, and she's like, "you

know what?

This, I think this is, this would be a good, good genre for you.

It's a good format, and you know."

I was like, OK.

The first time, the first book I did that was romance, I got -- I was in the closet.

It was carpeted, and I'm sitting there getting ready to read, and I burst out laughing after

the first three lines.

My wife's like, "are you OK?"

I'm like, "yeah.

I'm, I just, I haven't said that in like 20 years," and that's why I was laughing.

I started giggling.

I was like hee hee hee hee hee like a little girl.

We just cackled on about that because it was, it was funny.

Gabby: I'm right there with you.

I find some of that language and, and uh just, I don't know, whatever's supposed to be, you

know, the sensual aspects, I think it's hysterical.

I can't get through them.

I just laugh.

Danny: OK, and not to be crass or crude or anything like that, but like let's talk about

that, because some of the books, I was like, "is that it?

Is that -- no wonder people don't like doing that anymore."

I see why there's a market for it, but I don't understand like, that wasn't very good selling

book, that particular book I did, and I understand why because of the language.

Gabby: I think some people though have the impression that it's very disingenuine, and

the storylines, you know, they're, they're so contrived and all of that, so I think that's

kind of in people's heads too.

They think back to the, oh gosh, the old Danielle Steel novels from the 90's.

Anne: I love Danielle Steel.

Danny: Danielle Steel…

Anne: I did back in the day.

This was back in the day.

Times have evolved.

Gabby: Yeah.

Anne: Right?

Times have evolved.

Danny, let me ask you this.

I see you working a full-time job, umm part-time, you know, DJing for weddings, and also doing

audiobooks.

That's incredible to me.

You are, you are so entertaining.

You're so funny, but beneath all of that too is a really strong entrepreneurial force that

you get, you so get it.

And I'd like to ask you, what does being an entrepreneur mean to you?

What is, what defines a good entrepreneur?

Danny: Well first off, you don't, you don't work 40 hours a week.

It's not a 9 to 5.

It's a little bit scary.

It's like I want to laugh, cry, barf.

That's the emotion.

Anne: Yes.

Danny: And I work for entrepreneurs.

I work for -- we have one owner at this company, and I essentially, I work for millionaires.

I work for people that know what they want.

That's part of being an entrepreneur.

You have to be very clear about what you're clear about.

And I'd rather work 90 hours a week and have something to do than sit at home, feel sorry

for myself, and watch Netflix, and not be chill.

So.

Gabby: [laughs]

Danny: So you know being an entrepreneur does require long hours.

You have to constantly be thinking.

You have to be willing to move quickly and change things.

I've had that range of experience where I've been able to and been fortunate too to meet

a lot of people that are doing uh very big things in their lives.

So there's a coach out of, out of Dallas.

His name is Ryan Stewman.

He's one of my audiobook minds.

I've narrated seven of his audiobooks to date, and they're all based around sales and

business.

Ryan owns and operates 10 different companies.

Don Yount, the man I work for now, he is a race car driver.

He's also tied into the gas monkey guys, and he owns Gas Monkey Energy Drink.

I work for very, very entrepreneurial people and not just entrepreneurial people.

It's like you have to go see a doctor because there's a problem.

"So what's your issue?"

"I don't know, I just can't stop.

I can't stop starting businesses and being really, really successful at it."

[all laugh]

Danny: So you know for me, you know, as a regular guy, I want to be like those people,

and I love it.

I love the conversations with them.

I think in our heads, you know, we think that the more money people make, the more aloof

and unavailable they are.

And, and that's not the case.

Gabby: No, I find that to not be the truth at all, yeah.

It sounds like you're really doing a great job of surrounding yourself with the people

who have what you want and that you're listening to them and gleaning from them.

And getting advice where you can.

Anne: And learning.

Gabby: Even what you're saying about the books that you've read, it seems a lot of the books

are very strategically selected or gone after because you're, you're really getting paid

to research.

Anne: And paid to learn too.

Gabby: Pretty smart.

Anne: I love that.

Danny, you said something this morning in your, in your live video.

"Well, you might as well make as much money as it can."

And I loved it because you were just so casual when you said it, but, but man, did you hit

the nail on the head.

This is what we're doing as entrepreneurs.

I mean, we are serious about the business, and, and if it is indeed a business.

I mean, we've got bills to pay.

Gabby: mm-hmm.

Danny: Yeah.

Anne: And why not make as much money as you can?

I'm right there with you.

Danny: I think sometimes, you know, our psyche, we, we associate making money and being successful

with, you know, we're better than everybody else, and that's not the case.

We tell ourselves these things.

You know, we have these limiting self beliefs that we don't deserve something.

I know what that's like, because I lived in a family like that.

And I tell my kids, I say, "do not believe everything other people tell you.

And if you don't like what they're saying, you come and talk to me because I'm going

to tell you that it is possible, and then we're going to go find the people and do the

things that will show you that it is possible."

Or they're surrounded, like you said, Gabby, they're surrounded by negative people.

Negative people are so toxic.

That's what I love about you guys because, you guys just like, it's not just like, "hey,

we're voiceover vixens, what's going on?

You know, we're voiceover bosses."

You are like out there going, "listen, you need to watch out for the negative people.

You need to clear your plate.

You need to shove them out of the room."

If you've got haters, that's good.

You're doing something good, but at the same time, you have to watch out for those

people, because they will pull you down.

I've worked for people that did not want me to do better than what they were doing.

I was good as long as I didn't upstage them.

I've been fired for that.

That's a real thing in radio but also in life.

Gabby: mm-hmm.

Anne: mm-hmm.

Danny: That happened to me a couple of times, and I said, "so you want me to play small,

is that right?"

I had a conversation one time with a program director, and he goes, "look, we've got

some issues, and you know, the cohost is saying that you're upstaging her."

And I was like, "dude, my hair is not even as long as hers," at that point in my life.

I said "how am I upstaging her?"

But that's a real thing.

I got called down and eventually fired.

Anne: Well Danny, it has been amazing.

How can people follow you, and get in touch with you, and uh basically kind of just fan,

fan you?

[laughs]

Danny: Find me on Facebook, it's Danny Galvez.

I've got sunglasses on, and I'm covering my forehead with my hand.

It's weird.

You can also find me on Instagram too.

If you want to check out one of my cool audiobooks, you can just Google Daniel Galvez audiobooks,

and you'll find the myriad of my work there on ACX and Audible.

I have got to tell you something, Gabby and Anne, you guys provided so much value in your

podcasts, I can't thank you enough.

Gabby: Aww.

Danny: And I know that anybody that listens to your show will be able to make that next

step.

Gabby: Thank you.

Anne: Yeah.

Danny: I'm like scatter [bleep] over here, guys.

I just want to be honest with you.

I can't stop thinking about my chicken.

I'm so distracted right now.

Gabby: It's OK.

We're gonna, we're gonna raise a glass to the chicken.

Anne: We are.

We are, and to the dance.

Onward to the chicken dance.

Gabby: Does the chicken have a name?

Danny: That's right.

I'm getting ready to do it.

Um, no.

I didn't even have long enough to name him.

Anne: Aww.

Gabby: Uh, well, first of all it's a her.

Danny: What should we call her?

Gabby: I don't know.

There's like a whole, you know, Camilla Gonzo thing.

I'm such a big Muppet fan.

Danny: You're a Muppet fan?

Gabby: Of course I am.

Anne: [laughs]

Danny: OK.

Anne: Oh you do.

I've seen him.

You do.

Danny: You guys need to get one.

Anne: You need to go to Vegas and take that to Vegas.

[laughs]

Gabby: Oh my God, yeah, BOSS, BOSS Muppets would be amazing.

Anne: Exactly, BOSS Muppets.

Gabby: We could be like the critics in the balcony, Anne.

Anne: BOSS Muppets.

Oh my God.

You and I could be -- yeah, the balcony.

We could be in the balcony.

Danny: Ok.

Gabby: Do I get the Anne puppet and you get the Gabby puppet, is that how we do this?

Anne: I want, I want the Gabby puppet.

Gabby: Like we swap puppets?

Anne: Gabby puppet.

So I can pet…

Gabby: Like I don't talk to you enough during the day.

I'll just talk to the puppet.

Anne: I love my Gabby puppet.

Danny: Hey, listen.

Um, I love y'all very much, and I can't thank you enough.

Anne: Aw.

Danny, thank you so much.

Anne: [laughs]

Danny: You can pretty much, you can pretty much ask me whatever.

Anne: OK.

Danny: I too am a cursing aficionado.

I love it.

Anne: [laughs]

Gabby: Nice.

3 Anne: Gabby puppet.

Gabby: Anne puppet, what do I do today?

Anne: Gabby puppet, Gabby puppet, Gabby puppet.

[laughs]

Danny: I'm going to be the chicken puppet.

Anne: I think there could be a song.

I think there could be a rap.

Gabby puppet -- [laughs]

Danny: [beat boxes]

Gabby: There could be a multiple thing with the puppets.

Anne: Gabby puppet, Gabby puppet.

[all laugh]

4 Danny: [in Valley Girl voice] OK, so the VO

BOSS ladies, I was listening to them.

You know, I've been telling you about them.

I said, "so I'm going to be on their show, and I'm so excited."

She's like, ehhh, she's like, "can you bring me some dinner?"

5 Anne: Girls are so, they are so mean in high

school.

They just are.

Danny: They are.

Gabby: Pff, because they're not, they're not mean in adulthood?

Anne: You're right, Gabby.

You're so right.

Oh my God.
