Waching daily Jan 5 2017

To adhere to YouTube's policy and personal reasons, I will not be showing clips of the

traumatic video.

Brittany Herring posted a Facebook Live Video of herself and 2 unidentified men and another

woman torturing a man with special needs.

They were all 18 and the attackers are in custody.

The event took place in a Chicago suburb.

The victim was last seen on December 31st by his parents and they received texts from

his captors.

Police said the victim was with the group for at least 24 to 48 hours.

He was eventually cut free and let go, which is when he was found by patrol officers.

The attackers yelled "F*ck Donald Trump and f*ck white people" at the victim as

Herring was recording.

They kicked, punched, cut his scalp, and removed his clothing.

In another video they forced him to drink out of a toilet.

At one point, the victim was forced at knifepoint to say "f*ck Donald Trump."

Police became aware of the video Wednesday afternoon after the incident took place on

Tuesday.

The attackers were black and the victim was white.

Police are determining whether or not this is a hate crime.

The victim was rushed to the hospital but is now in stable condition.

The video, which is about half an hour long, has been taken down from Facebook but can

be found across social media.

YouTube is censoring the full video.

You can watch the full length video over at my blog in th e link below.

Currently there is no evidence to suggest this was associated with the Black Lives Matter

movement.

Do you think this is a Hate Crime?

Let me know in the comments below and don't forget to subscribe.

Slavoj Žižek on Political Correctness: Why "Tolerance" Is Patronizing - Duration: 9:34.

I know that there is a lot of sexual harassment, racism and so on in our lives and I don't

doubt that the majority of people who promote political correctness mean it sincerely.

I'm not saying that.

I'm not saying in the way of right wing paranoia that they are evil people who want to destroy

American way of life, I'm just saying this that the way they approach the problem is

that instead of resolving it the predominant effect is just to keep it under check and

allowing the true problem, racism, sexism, to survive in a more covered up version and

so on and so on.

For example, I always like this extreme example.

Let's take racist jokes.

Yes they function in a racist way, but for me the true overcoming of racism is not that

you prohibit racist jokes, but that you establish a social, not even only social change, new

society, but even such a change of atmosphere that you can tell exactly the same jokes without

appearing a racist.

When you are simply in a true relationship of equality, respect and so on, sometimes

dirty jokes, even gently racist jokes done in a non-racist way, by this I mean that you

including yourself and you make fun of yourself and so on, they're incredible.

I think your American term is icebreakers.

Because it's easy to be a non-racist in this political correct way oh I respect your food,

your national identities, no.

When does it happen real contact with another?

I claim it's very difficult to arrive at it without a small exchange of an obscenity.

It works in a wonderful way.

So I claim for me and ideal post racist situation is let's say I am an Indian and you are an

African American.

We are telling all the time dirty jokes to each other about each other about ourselves,

but in such a way that we just laugh and the more we are telling them the more we are friends.

Why?

Because in this way we really resolved the tension of racism.

What I'm afraid, now coming back to your question, with political correctness is that it's a

desperate reaction.

They know they cannot solve the real problem so they escaped into controlling how we speak

about it.

And by real problem I don't to mean in a primitive way just economic redistribution and so on,

but even the symbolic fact of actual social relationship and so on.

You know what should political correct people learn, British customs.

Why?

Because British and Japanese, different countries, but they are two of the countries which are

mega masters in how to reproduce all the brutality of domination, despising the other but without

being offensive with an utmost nice speech elegance and so on.

You know that's the miracle of truly successful racism that you reproduce all the prejudices

but with a very soft point apparently respecting the other and so on and so on.

So again, what also bothers me with political correctness or distolerance of the other is

that tolerance is a false notion today.

I always like this example: I always tell my students when they claim if you are against

tolerance what are you for brutal racism?

No.

I tell them okay there is one guy who did quite a lot against racism, Martin Luther

King.

Look at his speeches.

He never even mentions the word tolerance.

I checked it up you can download his speech.

If you were to tell him that we white people need to be more tolerant towards the black

people he would have laughed probably.

So this is a very suspicious idea that this translation of domination of racism and so

on into terms of tolerance.

No, tolerance is a very ambiguous term.

Quite often tolerance can even work as it's own opposite in want sense?

Look, if you take a typical upper middle-class American, I would like to put him on her,

I saw them, together with a real low class African-American or white guy, I can guarantee

you they would be horrified with all the dirty jokes will get at this and so on.

And for them they would have been very intolerant towards him.

So for me there is always intolerance, something off.

Let's keep it disturbs me.

At the proper distance don't allow them to come to close to me.

Tolerance often means intolerance for the actual other.

They accept the other, in it is the purified other.

Like, for example, for politically correct people Native Americans, whatever you call

them, I don't want to call them that.

You know my old joke, which is true.

I met some Native American so-called university people who told me they hated they're Native

Americans.

Why?

Because it has this uncanny settle nature culture, we are native and what are you then?

Cultural Americans or what.

They told me we much prefer to be called Indians; at least our name is a monument to white man's

stupidity who thought they are in India when they are here.

So I love this.

They are so fanatically suspicious about this false patronizing appraisal of the white liberals.

Like you know, we usually say we brutally exploit nature, mining and so on, but Native

Americans do it differently.

They talk to mountains; they have this more organic dialogic approach and so on and so

on.

They shaped this so much.

One of them even so brutally told me I love this.

This is true.

He gave me, I forgot his name I'm very sorry, a short text he wrote where he demonstrates

through statistics, I don't know if it's true, let's say he tries to demonstrate that Native

Americans, so-called Indians, killed more buffaloes and burned more forests than all

white people together.

What was his point?

His point was precisely don't idealize us.

You are patronizing us by making this politically correct pure people who are holistic blah,

blah, blah.

No.

Please we can also be evil; we can also be horrible and so on and so on.

You see it's the same problem with refugees in Europe, intelligent Native Americans are

terribly sensitive against the oppressive other side of this politically correct way

of Native Americans have some ancient wisdom holistic approach and so on and so on.

I mean that's why, and I'm sorry if I repeat an old story of mine, but that's why I sincerely

admire Malcolm X.

You know why?

What does it mean X?

It means, of course, we don't have family name.

We black slaves were torn out deprived of our roots and like family links and so on

when they were kidnapped from Africa and so on.

But what's his genius?

His way is not the way of that stupid Hollywood best seller Alex Haley who wrote Roots.

Let's find our roots.

No, his idea is what is this X?

It means we have no roots; we are deprived of roots.

What if this gives us a new freedom to establish a new more universal community than that of

white people?

It's an ingenious idea of seeing what appears and each terrible trauma being deprived of

your roots you have no proper tradition, family tradition and so on is a new chance of freedom.

Autism documentaries - This autistic boy got a dog. Very beautiful to see what is happening . - Duration: 4:19.

I think all of us who have dogs know that our dogs innately understand our

feelings

so if we come home and we're feeling great

the dog instinctively picks up you feel great that means you're going to play

with and if we're feeling less than great and especially for feeling down

and depressed

the dog will feel you're looking a bit low i think i'll just come over quietly

and sit down beside so they can pick up our feelings and emotions

what that means is that with there's mute communication between the two

species

you don't have to articulate in words the way you and I have to talk about

things

a dog will understand how we feel because it just picks up something about

our body language

nowhere is this more important than with service or assistance dogs

unlike other service dog and guy . providers when you're dealing with

autism you need dogs that are very very calm very quiet very laid back so we

over the last 16 years have been working towards breeding really calm very

relaxed easygoing dogs

Chester joined our family six weeks ago and he's from national service dog so he

is officially n st chester he is two and a half years old and he's a lab

retriever mix

max was diagnosed with autism at the age of 32 months when we got Chester one of

the first things i really look forward to doing with Max is going for a walk

because at the age of six I've never really been able to go for a walk with

max because what he does like many children with autism easy bolts so for

him it's a very fun game to run away from you with that Chester's best that

he wears

he has a hook up and there's a handle that Maxwell's on -

so the first time we went out for a walk by ourselves

chester was an all-star and Max was just so thrilled to be out with his dog he

never dropped the handle once one of the things that max does to cope when he's

frustrated or expressed his his frustration is to strike out and you

know it's it's it's hard you know to have your child striking you

we brought Chester home and that aggression

and frustration just disappeared now that we've had Chester here for six

weeks and Max has stopped

do they still have outbursts yes but there are fewer they're less intense and

they they they die down faster

many of the dogs once they're bonded with their kids will anticipate those

anxiety levels building

Chester sleeps with him and since Chester came home

you know we don't get outburst in the middle of the night anymore

so max stays in his bed and he's got Chester there now that he is Chester he

doesn't call out you might be awake

I don't know because i'm asleep which is fantastic and I don't really I don't

worry about Max because i know that Chester's in there

I didn't really understand what a blessing

Chester would be to our family and not just to max but and no its you very much

is a healing balm for our family over the last 16 17 years we focused on

autism program and have recently expanded out to train dogs for

individuals with post-traumatic stress disorder

specifically veterans and we're developing a new program that will put a

canine assisted intervention dogs into facilities partnered with doctors

physicians therapists so that they can use a fully trained service dogs in

helping all of their patients are a collection of the patients in various

forms of whether it's addiction therapy mental health issues

behavioral issues and so that will expand out the role of our dogs in the

in the coming year

A birth parent could be searching for any qualities in the person they choose, you can't predict it - Duration: 1:02.

And you have no idea how you're going to be picked. Like my birth mother,

she picked me because we have to do these brochures, these packets if you will.

And on it, she saw two pictures. One of them was me when I was in Japan.

And she loved that I love the idea of traveling. And she liked that I work in

the film industry because she likes movies. And that's why...and she also said

she thought that being maybe as a single dad, maybe I'd been overlooked,

you know? And so she was willing to give me a chance, you know?

And I'll always be eternally grateful for that. I had no control over any

of the things that she would find interesting or whatever she was looking

for. It could've been that I love ketchup, but it wasn't. But you never know.

There are so many different things. Patience is the number one key.

How To Do The Dumbbell Stepping Lunge: Easy Home Exercise/Workout Tips Online: XXX - Duration: 1:02.

- The stepping lunge is a great movement

for building your hamstrings and your glutes

as well as your quads.

This movement is just your typical lunge

but this time you have dumbbells.

You wanna choose a weight

that you can do at least eight to twelve reps with.

Take a big step out, dip straight down,

and then push up and out of it with an exhale.

Big step with the other foot, dip straight down,

push up and out of it with an exhale.

Step, good upright posture throughout this movement.

The knee stays behind the toes,

it never pushes up over top.

Big steps, look out on the horizon for balance points,

dip straight down and push out of it with an exhale.

Great movement to build those quads

into the glutes and hamstrings.

How to Ask the Right Questions! - Duration: 3:29.

I'm Shawn Bradford with Breathe and Work

Breathe and Sell here to give you another

mindful selling tip to move your

business forward, and to attract more

clients. So today's tip is all about

asking meaningful questions. You really

need to ask meaningful questions in

order to understand what drives your

client, how do they buy, what do they

really need,

what is their motivation in? By asking

meaningful questions, you can find out

all of these things about them, and

really work well with them for years,

really forever, because you know what

motivates them. So we never want to show

up to an appointment like this,

"Hi I'm Shawn with Breathe and Work and I do

wellness workshops, and I cannot wait to

get all your employees moving and they'll

reduce their stress and they'll focus so

much more, does that sound great?

Let's get a scheduled." That enthusiasm is

great, but that is just too much. You've

lost your client because you're not

engaging them by asking them meaningful

questions, you don't know what motivates

them because you didn't ask. So if you're

constantly leaving appointments, or phone

calls, not getting any business, it is

probably because you're not asking

questions to find out what they really

need.

So the next time you're on the phone, or

the next time you're in front of a

client, your work is to prepare a list of

meaningful questions. You can go to my

website, breatheandwork.com, link below,

and get this free downloadable PDF with

questions already there for you. But I

urge you to change it and make it your

own based on what you are selling; and

then when you go to meet with your

clients let them know you're taking

notes.

They'll love it, it's very professional,

and then really get in the habit of

making a statement, asking a question,

listening. Make a statement,

ask the question, listen. So for example,

you can start the conversation with,

"How's business?" and then listen and take

notes. You'll be amazed at how much you

learn about your client. Next, you can say

"What are your goals for this year?" Again,

you're going to learn so much about what

motivates and drives this client and how

they buy. Then you can get more

specific. So if i'm selling a wellness

workshop, I would say "What's your

motivation behind getting this wellness

workshop?" and I want to know are they

saving on insurance, are they wanting to

get their employees more focused, what's

the motivation, Prospect A and Prospect

B are going to have different

motivations, and you will sell

differently to Prospect A then you will

to Prospect B by these different

motivations, and then you can continue to

get more and more specific-so you really

understand the clients. So again your

job is go to the website breatheandwork.com,

download this PDF, make it your

own, add unique questions, and then show

up to all your appointments. Ask the

question,

listen, take notes, make a statement and

then ask another question. You will learn

so much about your clients, you'll earn

their respect, you'll serve them better,

because you are offering a very

meaningful solution, and you'll retain

them forever because you're adding so

much value to what they need in a very

particular customized way. If you like

this video subscribe below to get more

mindful selling tips, i'll see you next

time here at Breathe and Sell and

Make Sure Your Car is Ready for Winter - Duration: 0:38.

driving in the Winter can be difficult if

your car's not up for the task. Here are

some quick tips to make sure your

vehicle is ready for winter. Use a penny

to check your tire treads. Put the penny

down and facing you. If you can see all of

Lincoln's head, it's time to replace your

What Lives In The Deepest Place On Earth? - Duration: 4:57.

It's cold, it's stressful, it's loud, it's dark, and only three humans have ever

been there… where am I thinking of?

Ew.

Get your mind out of the gutter.

Hey there deep divers, Trace here for DNews.

3.5 billion passengers flew on airplanes in 2015, according to the International Civil

Aviation Organization.

Many of those passengers flew at or higher than 36,000 feet or 11 kilometers above sea

level.

Yep, equivalent to half the world's population went plus 11 last year…

how many went minus 11?

How many people EVER have gone 11 kilometers under the ocean?

Three.

Ever.

Jacques Piccard and Don Walsh in 1960, and James Cameron in 2012.

3.5 billion up, three down.

That's pretty uneven.

We know quite a lot about the world from 11 kilometers (and above), in fact, we know there

are oceans on other planets, but what do we know much about the Mariana Trench -- the

deepest known place on Earth?

The Mariana Trench was discovered by a British Royal Naval vessel, the HMS Challenger during

what is widely considered the first oceanographic expedition in history.

The ship covered about 110,000 kilometers over the 1,000 day voyage from 1872 to '76,

and they published their findings in a 29-thousand-five-hundred-page, 50-volume report -- ahem -- 23 years later...

It took a while to put it all together.

Anyway, they took depth measurements (called soundings) throughout their trip around the

globe, discovering the mid-Atlantic ridge (a mountain range in the middle of the Atlantic)

as well as the deepest sounding recorded to that date, southeast of Japan…

Their measurement read 8,184 meters (26,850 ft)!

Over 8 kilometers (5mi)!

If you plopped it down, Everest's tip would peek above the waves, but they were waaay

off.

Measurements taken in the decades since that first expedition kept pushing the Mariana

lower -- until in 2010 the United States Center for Coastal & Ocean Mapping measured Mariana's

deepest point -- called Challenger deep -- at about 10,994 meters (36,070 ft)!

This would leave Everest more than 1.6 kilometers (1mi) below the surface of the Pacific.

This 2550-kilometer-long trench, named for the nearby Mariana Islands, was formed by

subduction, meaning one of the tectonic plates that hold the continents of our planet is

dipping beneath the neighboring plate.

This chasm sits under so much water, the pressure is 1,000 times greater than at sea level with

temperatures near freezing.

Plus, light only penetrates a few hundred meters into seawater.

Everything below 1,000 is in the aphotic zone -- no photons.

So, at nearly 11 kilometers it's darker and colder than you can imagine.

And yet, life abounds…

Down there we've found amphipods -- which are related to crustaceans, ranging in size

from thumb-sized to 30 centimeters (1ft)... sea cucumbers -- echinoderms (like starfish

or sea urchins), and microorganisms like foraminifera -- sort of like giant amoebas… they're

shelled, protists (a Kingdom of life we rarely talk about on DNews).

In fact, a Japanese robotic expedition in 2005 found over 400 species of protists.

According to a super-great SciAm article on Challenger Deep, these xenophyophores use

sand found on the seafloor to construct shells and protect themselves.

In shallower seas they use calcium, but at that depth, the pressure is just too great.

Of course, if bacteria can survive on Mars, then it stands to reason they're on the

bottom of the ocean too.

Researchers found Proteobacteria, Actinobacteria, Geobacillus, and others.

Each distinct from their surface-dwelling cousins, in that they'd evolved to survive

under the incredible pressure at the bottom of the ocean.

According to a 2013 paper in Nature Geoscience, there may be 10 million microbes per cubic

centimeter in this seafloor sediment!

Not dissimilar to population densities of regular topsoil on the surface.

It's weird though, I mean, without light or heat, life at this depth is so… alien!

For example, what do these life-forms eat (other than each other)?

We need to visit more… not just for our curiosity.

In 2012, film director and explorer James Cameron descended at the "amazingly fast"

150m per minute, and became the first human in decades to lay eyes on Challenger deep.

He took samples and recorded the whole thing on video.

On the surface, scientists of all flavors were drooling in jealousy and excitement for

what would be recovered.

Understanding how life can survive in such extreme environments doesn't just help us

understand the ocean, but LIFE in general!

If we want to look for life on other planets and moons like under the ice sheets of Europa

or Enceladus… we'll need to understand what we're looking for.

Science begets science begets curiosity begets exploration.

I love it.

What do you think?

Should we explore the ocean?

Or space?

How To Be Happy - THE TRUTH - Duration: 4:00.

In order to understand how to be happy

we need to look at how we think there

are three different ways we react to

everything around us

the first is by wanting were brought up

in a culture where we're told that we

need to obtain something or reach a

certain goal in order to be happy

oh we need to get that new phone we need

to get a bigger TV we need to get that

promotion we need to take a picture of

this meal and put it onto Instagram but

if you think back to any major purchase

you made or achievement you reached your

picture you posted

sure you felt happier for a while but

soon after you are back on the hunt

every single time you end up finding

yourself back at your original level of

happiness only this time with less money

in your wallet and more wrinkles on your

face so it's safe to say happiness

doesn't lie in the wanting category

the second way we react is by rejecting

from the moment we wake up our mind

automatically starts to look for things

to reject around us

oh I feel so tired but I have to go to

work so cold I don't want to leave my

bed

we reject others oh he's so awkward

oh why can't this cashier do his job

properly we reject ourselves so out of

shape

why am I such a loser again it's safe to

say there isn't much happiness here

either

the third way we react is by zoning out

what were confronted with a task that's

quote-unquote boring like commuting to

work or waiting at the doctor's office

we tend to zone out everything become

sort of hazy it's almost as if you put

on a black and white filter over your

eyes your brain goes on to sleep mode

and your mind is either lost in the past

over past regrets or lost in the future

filled with anxiety about things that

might go wrong

doesn't sound like a fun place to be

these three ways of reacting makeup over

ninety-nine percent of the way the

average person goes about his day to day

life

no wonder they're unhappy so how do I

become happy

well there's actually a fourth way of

reacting something that we only

experience once in a blue moon

it's here where happiness really lies

it's the way you reacted when you

visited the Grand Canyon for the first

time it's the feeling astronauts

describe when they see the Earth from

outer space

it's the way you were when you were

younger able to spend hours just looking

at bugs and pictures

it's called mindfulness think of it as

the opposite of zoning out your zoning

in being hyper aware of everything in

front of you the way something feels the

way it moves it smell its taste all of

its features and nothing else

this means there's no room for wanting

no room for rejecting and you certainly

not zoned out all of your focus is just

on the exact thing or event happening

right in front of you there is no

judgment there's simply room for you to

take it all in and when you react to

things and events with mindfulness

happiness follows and it stays for good

by simply learning how to focus on

what's in front of you you make room for

happiness in your life and the only way

to become more mindful in your reactions

on a day-to-day basis is by practicing

meditation now I'm sure there's a lot of

you guys for watching this thinking oh

god this is some hocus-pocus nonsense

I've heard about meditation it makes no

sense i'm not going to sit down and do

nothing for 10-20 minutes but there are

literally hundreds of studies backing up

this claim which will be the topic of

our next video

the benefits of meditation and the

scientific evidence to back it up

so if you've been looking for the answer

to the life old question of how to be

happy

look no further stop looking for a

shortcut because I can just about a

hundred percent guarantee you the answer

lies in mindfulness and meditation in

the upcoming weeks we're going to dive

deeper into these concepts so please

subscribe click on the bell icon to make

sure you don't miss the next video and

stay tuned guys

I'm not a big fan of "worst" lists

and that's because I kinda feel
