Hey, guys, Adam here with americanmuscle.com.
Today, I'm bringing you a quick overview and installation of the Ultra Modern headlights
with amber reflectors, fitting all 2005 to 2009 Mustangs.
So, in this video, we'll be going over the styling and appearance you can expect out
of the Ultra Modern headlights we have here, as well as their materials and construction.
I'll top the video off with the install, which I'll let you know up front is a very simple
headlight swap, making it a one out of three wrenches on our difficulty meter.
The Ultra Modern headlights with amber reflectors will be for any '05 to '09 Mustang owner who's
looking to swap out their front end look, removing those factory headlights and swapping
them out for an ultra modern styling, something that looks like it came from Ford from the
factory.
So this particular set of headlights is definitely gonna fall into the "less is more" category.
So if you're one of those guys out there that likes to keep it more simplistic, this might
be one of the options for you.
Now it's also gonna cater to the guys out there who wanna keep it looking like a Ford
vehicle, something that doesn't look very aftermarket, because these particular headlights
are reminiscent of some of the headlights that come on some of the newer generations
of Mustang from the Ford factory.
Now, with that said, this is an aftermarket piece here, not directly from the Ford warehouse,
but it does look like something that Ford would have produced.
So if you're looking to keep it in the Mustang family but you wanna mix it up and make it
a little bit more modern, this might be what you're looking for.
So, as I just mentioned a second ago, these headlights offer a very simplistic design,
but it does shift things around a bit.
As you can see, you'll get a massive headlight lamp right in the middle of the headlight
housing, surrounded in black with a bit of chrome trim.
Your high and low beam bulbs will be housed in that same headlight lamp, and will be offered
from the factory.
So whatever factory bulbs you're using, they'll fit right into this housing here.
In addition to that, you'll also get the two amber reflectors on the side closest to your
inner center grille.
These are not lights.
They are simply amber reflectors, since your turn signals are located in your bumper.
As far as materials and construction goes, expect all OEM quality materials here, nothing
very special.
There's absolutely no hardware on the back here.
All of your factory hardware will reuse with this particular set, so you don't have to
worry about picking up any kind of housing, any certain bulbs.
Any regular H13 will fit, as well.
You get very clear lenses here, so you don't have to worry about smoked lenses interfering
with the light output, but if you'd like to upgrade to get an even brighter bulb, you
can do that as well, as long as they're H13s.
Since this is a more simple headlight design, and it doesn't really stray too far from the
factory Ford options, you will be looking at a pretty reasonable price tag at this one.
So the budget-friendly item here comes in right around $150 for the pair.
Like I said, a very low price compared to some of the other headlight options on the
market.
If you're looking to keep it in the Ford family, something that does look like it would have
come from the factory on your '05 to '09, this is something you might be interested
in.
Shifting gears over to the install portion of the video, like I said in the very beginning,
this one isn't gonna take too long.
It doesn't require too much know-how, so it will get the one out of three wrenches on
our difficulty meter.
As far as tools go, have a ratchet and a simple socket set on deck, maybe a pair of pliers,
but honestly, this is just a couple of simple hand tools, and you'll have it done in about
an hour's worth of time, tops.
So, to kick things off, you'll pop open your hood, remove that top radiator cover, as well
as a couple of bolts holding on your front bumper.
The front bumper does have to come off when we're removing the headlights on an '05 to
'09 Mustang, as well as some of the newer generations, so keep that in mind going forward.
Next up, you wanna remove the headlight bulbs from their housing before removing the headlight
housing out of the vehicle, but once you have that taken care of, disconnect any wiring,
unbolt the front headlights, and toss those aside.
You can replace them with the Ultra Modern headlights we have here, putting them into
place and bolting those down, as well, using all the factory hardware.
Replace any H13 bulbs, or if you're doing an upgrade, this is the time to do that as
well, reconnect all the wiring harness, put everything back together in the reverse order,
and you're good to go.
Overall, about an hour's worth of time in the driveway at home, and a one out of three
wrenches on our difficulty meter.
