Another Saturday Strategy. I'm Drew Canole.
And we're actually making one of my favorite nighttime tea recipes.
I'm gonna give you the recipe in a second.
And also, I'm gonna give you some other tools, tricks, tactics in the tea
that you can use to pass out to dreamland
faster than you'd ever been to wake up feeling refreshed, renewed,
with more energy, more presence, more inspiration, more determination, more motivation in 2017
than you've ever had before right here, right now, on this Saturday Strategy.

I'm just gonna drop my tea bag in here.
I used to have a fancy, fancy tea maker.
I don't know what happened to it.
We got the tea cooking.
Now, why should you have a nightly ritual?
Why should we have a morning ritual?
How you start your day is how you start the rest of your life.
We have a morning ritual, right?
Have you seen the morning ritual video yet?
My 7-step morning ritual.
So a nighttime ritual is going to set your day up for success.
I like to say my day tomorrow is greatly impacted by what I do the night before.
So the first thing I want you to do,
and I would encourage anyone watching this,
is to actually turn off all the screens and all the blue light.
Blue light spikes up your cortisol.
Cortisol puts you in a stressed-out state especially when you're sleeping.
if you're the type of person that wakes up multiple times per night,
you may want to refrain from that.
if you don't know if you're waking up a lot
or if your sleeps are distributed, you're not really tracking it,
there's something that I use called Beddit.

Beddit's cool.
It tests your respiration. It shows your breathing.
It tells you actually if you're snoring at night, which was pretty wild.
If you want red light, great.
Red light helps increase melatonin.
Melatonin is that crucial thing that drops you into your circadian rhythm.
And I love it.
I don't take melatonin.
I used to back in the day but then I found out
that it can kind of interfere with your sleep
so you don't want to do that,
unless you're traveling, you just got back from 18-19 hour flight,
you want to reset your circadian rhythm,
3 milligrams of melatonin isn't gonna hurt you for a couple of nights when you're back.
Reset that circadian rhythm.
So, red light. What is it?
Salt lamps. I have salt lamps all over my house.
Ahh, oh my God, I pulled my hamstring.
Big salt lamps like 80-90 pounds. And I love it.
Not only does it raise the energy in here.
It gets rid of the negative ions of the Earth.
But it gives you that nice red light that's gonna help induce melatonin,
and you going into your sleepy time more effectively, so that's number one.
Hey guys, so here's one of my favorite spots in my house.
This is a bathtub, pull my man card, tell me I'm a sissy, whatever.
I love the bath. I'm an Aquarius.
I don't know if it's the water thing or what.
But these are the minerals that I like. Ancient minerals, I put this in here.
And I put a tablespoon of baking soda,
helps alkalize your body in the bathtub, and you absorb the magnesium.
You want to stay in for about 20-25 minutes.
You're going to come out here.
You can put a little essential oil in here if you wanted to as well.
You're just gonna feel better.
Who doesn't like to feel good?
Give her some of that stress you've been dealing with.
For sure, we just got of the holidays.
Why are you all stressed out? Start taking a bath.
So number three is rub down your entire body.
And you're gonna rub it up like this towards your heart,
helps open up that lymphatic system,
cleanse you, boosts your immune system.
You can use shea butter. You can use coconut oil.
Mix it with a little lavender oil if you want
'cause that'll help you fall asleep quicker and relax.
Alright, let me show you this.
A good journal is amazing.
I have a bunch of this but I love this one.
This is another one of my favorite journals.
Every night, write down your wins.
And if you had something that kind of held you back, wasn't favorable to you,
you can journal that out and what would it be like if it went the right way.
Write down what you're grateful for. All kinds of good stuff.
Jensen, no, that's my stuff. Come on.
Five is to read a book or listen to an audible
or some music that's relaxing before you drift off to bed.
Reading increases the connectivity, the different parts of the brain
and before you go to sleep, it'll open up more of your brain
so that you can have some really impactful dreams if you're a dreamer like myself.
Studies have actually shown that just 6 minutes of reading
lowers your heart rate and relaxes your muscle which is awesome.
Here we go. Here's the tea brother.
So let me drink a little bit first. It maybe a little too hot.
That's really a good tea.

lt can really help you sleep.
Make sure you got decaffeinated
if you're sensitive to that kind of stuff.
I'm gonna use half a scoop of Organifi as well, my nightly tea.
And we're going to mix the Organifi at first
while the honey or the water actually cools down
because you never want to mix honey in boiling water.
It's a little Ayurvedic thing, just not good.
So you see how easy the Organifi mixed.
It's already mixed up.
We got some brand new honey here.
I don't need a lot.
Organifi is pretty sweet as it is, just a little bit. Just like that.
We're going to use just a squeeze of lemon in our nightly tea recipe,
just like so, and our nightly tea recipe is done.

Take a big breath, hold it, and let it out with a smile
that you feel so much more relaxed.
