NFL wild card playoffs: What you need to know about all 4 matchups

The drive to the Super Bowl begins this weekend as the NFL postseason gets going.

A dozen teams still have hopes to play for the Lombardi Trophy in Houston on Feb. 5.

On Saturday, the playoffs open as Oakland travels to Houston and Detroit heads to Seattle.

This is the fourth time the Texans have opened the playoffs as the early game on Saturday.

And the Raiders have returned to the postseason after a lengthy absence, but are starting a rookie at quarterback.

Despite making the postseason for the second time in three seasons,

Detroit is looking for its first playoff win since 1992.

nd the Seahawks are in the playoffs for the fifth straight season.

And the wild-card round finishes with Pittsburgh playing at home against Miami and Green Bay hosting the New York Giants.

The Steelers enter the playoffs on a seven-game winning streak

and are the heaviest favorite of the weekend against the Dolphins,

who are also short-handed at QB.

And the Giants' top-10 defense will face a significant test

at Lambeau Field against Aaron Rodgers and the surging Packers.

he Patriots, Chiefs, Cowboys and Falcons all earned first-round byes

and will watch and see whom they play in the divisional round.

Oakland (12-4) at Houston (9-7), Saturday at 4:35 p.m. EST (ESPN)

Largely considered to be the most underwhelming of the wild-card games

because of the matchup at quarterback.

Because of injuries, rookie Connor Cook will start for the Raiders,

becoming the first QB in NFL history to make his first start in a playoff game.

And he will face the league's top-ranked defense.

You do the best you can regardless of the circumstances," Raiders coach Jack Del Rio said.

"To me it's a great opportunity. You have these great opportunities in life to be at your best,

and you get these great challenges."

Oakland is in the playoffs for the first time since the 2002 season,

when it went to the Super Bowl and the Raiders have won 12 games for the first time since the 2000 season.

Brock Osweiler, who struggled for Houston after signing a $72 million contract, will start with Tom Savage out with a concussion.

Houston looks to win a playoff game for the first time since 2012 season.

The teams met on Nov. 21 in Mexico City and the Raiders won 27-20.

Detroit (9-7) at Seattle (10-5-1), Saturday at 8:15 p.m. (NBC)

Both teams enter the playoffs in a slump.

Detroit lost its final three games of the regular season to miss out on the NFC North title

and the chance to host a playoff game. Detroit hasn't won a road playoff game since 1957.

"History kind of shows you that it's a true restart," Detroit QB Matthew Stafford said.

"We're looking at data and who's won it and how, and all that kind of stuff.

"I'm sure there's been teams that have gotten hot and gone and won it,

but there are teams that have not had the finish that they wanted and still gone on to be really successful."

Before that last-season slide, the Lions made the key plays when it mattered as they won an NFL-record eight times when trailing in the fourth quarter or overtime.

Seattle split its final six games to close the regular season and its Week 16 loss to Arizona cost it a first-round bye.

Seattle is 5-0 in the playoffs at home since 2010 and has won at least one game

in each postseason appearance under coach Pete Carroll. Since 2012, the Seahawks are 7-3 in the playoffs.

Miami (10-6) at Pittsburgh (11-5), Sunday at 1:05 p.m. (CBS)

Miami is making its first playoff appearance since 2008 and is looking for its first postseason win since the wild-card round in 2000.

Quarterback Matt Moore will make his first postseason start for the Dolphins with Ryan Tannehill out because of an injury.

With the game-time forecast of around 20 degrees, the Dolphins put footballs used by the team's place-kicker

and punter in a freezer before practice to simulate conditions for Sunday's game.

Miami beat Pittsburgh 30-15 in October as Jay Ajayi ran for 204 yards and two touchdowns.

"One of those weird days in football," Steelers guard David DeCastro said of his team's struggles in that game.

"Sometimes you're going to have one of those weeks."

Ajayi is one of four players in NFL history with three games of at least 200 rushing yards in a single season.

The Steelers are 34-23 in the postseason, tied with Dallas (34) for the most total playoff wins all time.

The Steelers' offense led by quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, running back Le'Veon Bell

and wide receiver Antonio Brown will be in the lineup for the first time in a playoff game.

New York Giants (11-5) at Green Bay (10-6), Sunday at 4:40 p.m. (Fox)

The teams have a rich playoff history going against each other. The Packers have a 4-3 edge in playoff games.

The Giants won the first one and the NFL title in 1938, beating the Packers 23-17.

The Packers won the next four games and NFL championships in 1939, '44, 61 and '62.

And the teams have met twice in the past decade in the postseason.

Both games were at Lambeau Field and both times the Giants won en route to taking the Super Bowl after the 2007 and 2011 seasons.

Temperatures are forecast in the mid-to-low teens for this matchup.

The Giants are back in the playoffs for the first time since that 2011 run under first-year head coach Ben McAdoo,

who replaced Tom Coughlin. McAdoo was a Packers assistant under Green Bay's Mike McCarthy from 2006-13.

McCarthy is the fourth coach in NFL history to lead a single franchise to eight straight playoff appearances, joining Tom Landry, Chuck Noll and Bill Belichick.

The Packers enter the postseason on a roll. Green Bay finished 6-0 in the regular season and clinched the NFC North title.

Aaron Rodgers led the way as he completed 71 percent of his passes with 15 touchdown passes and no interceptions.

"To think that such a good passer, you would think they'd get him out of the pocket,

damper him, or put some type of uneasiness about him — but no, he's very comfortable outside the pocket."

Deaf and Hearing Couple: How We Could Afford a Macbook Pro - Duration: 8:56.

Hey! Happy Friday today!

Ryan and I have work later tonight

so I brought my clothes

Broughts my clothes

My works clothes

and I'm gonna go head over and see Ryan

So I know Ryan sold his coilovers yesterday

But I don't know if he showed you

Oh wait, I know because I edited it

I don't think he showed you his car

so I'll show you right now

So it's a lot higher

Before this part was all the way

almost touching the floor right there

but now it kinda went from there to a little bit higher

yeah

He is planning to sell this car

so any interested buyers out there?

Hi Titan

Let's go

So I'm returning this spring compressor

I found out it doesn't work with my car

so I had to order online

and I'm going to return this one

Be back soon

Hello!

I'm waiting for Ryan to do whatever over there

While I'm waiting I just wanted to say

In yesterday's vlog Ryan was waiting at my door for so long

I had no idea

I think it takes forever for me to get his texts

Like he'll send it and it'll take around two minutes

before I actually get the text

and then I'm like oh, okay I'm coming

I'll go get my jacket

five seconds, and then I go out

But yesterday

I had no idea Ryan was waiting for so long

I don't want you to think that I don't care about Ryan waiting

I just didn't know. That's all

I didn't know

But today! Guess what we're doing!

So excited!

Well Ryan should be more excited than me

because he's going to be getting the

MacBook Pro

pro

Isn't that amazing

so excited

The MacBook Pro is going to be around maybe two thousand dollars

that is

That is a lot of money

and we really couldn't afford it back then

but now that I've work for about a year and a half

and I've been saving

I just make sure that every single month

I putting about half of what I make in my savings account

Oh, Ryan is coming back

What are you talking about

talking about me?

sorry, I was talking about you

I was telling everyone

about the MacBook and that I saved up around

This is not very stable, is it

Babe, see. I told you I have cat like reflexes

You do have cat like reflexes

Okay, anyways

We'll continue this later somewhere else

Where this won't fall all the time

This is the only salad that I will eat

Well I will eat salad

but this is the only salad that tastes delicious

I need to eat something before I go to work

babe

Babe, you excited?!

*gasp* you broke it

broke it

Oh my gosh

Hey, so we found a better place to film

We're at the mall about to go into the Apple store

Are you excited to buy it?!

So I was telling them about how we could afford it, because we've been saving

so yeah

so while we are doing everyday vlogs

I realized that

we realized that

that I might need to get an apple computer

so it's more easy for us to work together

so we decided to save our money

and I've been saving up all my money

and I have enough to buy half of the MacBook

Ryan has been saving too

but recently he sold his coilovers

and I think he's going to plan to sell his car right

Yeah well I was interested in the car scene for a little bit

but I rather have YouTube and make vlogs

so I decided to get rid of that fun and have this fun

yeah so all of our hard work has paid off

and we're going to buy a new computer for Ryan

and then he can help me with editing

this month is like the hustle month

we're still working our part-time jobs

tonight we have to go to work

actually in an hour I have to go to work

so this month is just a lot of hustle

hustle, hustle, hustle

We're going to make it work though, and it's been a lot of fun

thank you

not bad

yeah, we can do that

it's with a discount

good, that's with the student discount?

Genius: It is. Yes.

You don't have to prove that you're a student?

Oh, you guys don't have to approve that we're students?

I have my student ID

I don't think you have to

they trust you

Genius: They might require an email

Oh, email

They might require an email for being a student or from your school

That's fine. I have my student ID

It's optional

So this is required

Babe

Babe, can you ask

Does it come with a year of apple care?

He's asking, does this come with the one year apple care warranty?

Genius: Yes, it does come with a one year warranty

Genius: If you want to add apple care you can.

Can you add it later?

Can we add it later?

Genius: You can add it up to a year later

You can add up to one year later

great

Genius:You also get a student discount with that as well

You get a student discount with that too

Genius: Normally, it's 249, but it will be 183 or something like that

We'll think about it later

So do you want to do the honors?

You do it

You want to do it? You want to buy it?

You do it

I just want to make sure everythings fine

So we just found out that we have to order the MacBook Pro

Yeah, they didn't have them in stock inside

So we had to order it

and it's going to be shipped to Ryan later this month

so I guess we'll just wait for that

How Do Wetsuits Keep You Warm? - Duration: 2:54.

If you've ever gone surfing, diving, or even just swimming in the ocean, you may

have worn a wetsuit before.

But if our regular clothes get drenched, we usually end up cold and shivering.

So how does this skin-tight sopping-wet onesie keeps us warm?

Well, wetsuits actually use a layer of water, along with other layers of material, to trap

your body heat!

It all works because of thermodynamics.

Your body likes to be a toasty 37 degrees Celsius, which is typically warmer than the

air or water around you.

If two things have different temperatures, that means their atoms and molecules are bumping

around at different speeds, with different amounts of kinetic energy.

And heat energy gets spontaneously transferred from warm things, which have more energy,

to cool things, which have less energy.

So your body particles are constantly bumping into nearby air or water particles, and transferring

energy through a process called heat conduction.

Because liquid water molecules are more densely packed than air molecules, water is better

at conducting heat than air.

That means that cold ocean water will suck heat away from your body faster than cold

air, which can get dangerous.

Enter the wetsuit.

Wetsuits are designed to stop heat from escaping, also known as insulation.

And they're made of layers upon layers of materials.

The outer layer is tough and somewhat water-resistant, to keep most of the cold water out.

Then comes a layer made out of neoprene, a rubber foam with lots of tiny nitrogen bubbles

trapped inside.

These pockets of gas don't conduct heat as easily as water does, so this layer is

really important to keep your body warm.

After that, some wetsuits have a layer of heat-reflecting metal, like titanium or copper.

And closest to our skin is actually a thin layer of water, which is how wetsuits get

their name.

See, wetsuits are designed to let in some water and trap it with all those insulating layers.

So your body heats that water up because of conduction, and then the warm water helps

you keep warm.

Unfortunately, poorly-fitting or badly-designed wetsuits don't trap this water layer very

well, and might let too much cold water in.

Scientists are still trying to improve neoprene wetsuit technology.

One team has even been inspired by water-dwelling mammals, like beavers.

Beaver fur naturally traps air bubbles, to create a gas barrier and prevent water from

touching their skin and conducting heat.

So these researchers are designing a fur-like rubber material, experimenting with the density

and length of the hairs to trap air most efficiently.

Who knows, in the future you might just spot a surfer sporting the latest animal-inspired

wetsuit fashion!

Hmm.

In you go, and off you go.

The letter!

Door!

Ah!

Hah!

I need to turn this up. Door!

A little bit higher. Door!

Ah-ha!

Ah-ha!

Ha!

I didn't sign my name. Sportacus.

# Welcome to Lazy Town

#A place where you'll want to stay

# You'll meet Robbie with his rotten plan

#And Sportacus saving the day

#Stephanie is new in town

#And soon she and Ziggy are friends

# With Pixel, Stingy and Trixie, too

# They're going to have a blast together

#Go, go, go, get up, Lazy Town

#It's the start of a brand new day

# Things are upside down here in Lazy Town

#Adventure 's just a moment away #

(STEPHANIE READING)

Is your computer okay?

Yeah, I'm just organising my LazyTown files.

Uh? What does it say?

"Pixel, you wanted me to remind you

"to remind yourself to remember something. Sportacus."

That's right! I remember now!

I must back up my files before I do anything else.

Let's set restore point and initiate backup.

-Oh! -Too late!

-It won't respond! -COMPUTER: Warning!

-Pixel! -Yes?

-Run! -Oh, no!

(BEEPING)

Someone's in trouble!

Door!

(STEPHANIE SCREAMING)

PIXEL: Get down! It's going to blow!

-Sportacus! -What's wrong?

-Unplug my computer before it blows! -I'm on it!

-Go, Sportacus! -Yeah!

COMPUTER: Warning. Warning. Warning.

Unplugging now!

COMPUTER: Warning. Warning. Warning.

Warning. Warning. Warning.

(DISTORTED VOICE) Warning. Warning. Warning.

(COMPUTER CRASHES)

Phew!

-Well? -I tried to unplug the computer,

-but I was too late. -It's gone?

-But I saved this. -Yeah!

Oh, no! It's melted. All the pictures, all the memory, gone.

If only Sportacus had a memory meltdown like Poodle's computer,

he'd never be able to save anyone again! Forever!

So why can't he?

Huh!

(CHUCKLING)

Sportacus won't be able to resist my trap!

(EVIL CHUCKLING)

Behold! The Memory Sucker 3000!

When he runs through the door, it's bye-bye memory.

He won't know his swish from his swoosh!

(BACK CRACKING)

Whatever.

What?

What was I doing? I can't remember.

-I was doing something. -I did it!

His memory is as missing as a sock in a dryer!

Hello, Sporta, buddy. Ho-hoo-ha-ha!

-You know me? -Do I know you?

I am your best friend!

-You are? -Yes!

That's great because I can't remember who I am.

Really? Imagine that. Don't worry. Listen to your old pal.

And whatever you do, never, never save anyone.

-Save anyone? Why would I do that? -Never mind.

Pixel was upset he lost his computer memory.

With no memory, you don't know who you are.

-Really? -Yup, no memory means no you.

Wow!

-And I like ice cream? -You don't just like it, you love it.

In fact, you are LazyTown's ice-cream man.

-Really? -Yes!

-Have a nice time! -Thank you.

I can do this.

(HUMMING)

Customers! Ice cream, anyone?

No, thanks.

BOTH: Ice cream?

-Yes! -I knew it!

Ice cream coming up!

-Yeah! -And now, the ice cream!

Yes! Yes!

-Are you feeling okay? -Never better!

-Wow! -Yes!

ZIGGY: Aah! Wow! Ha-ha!

And here you go.

-Thanks. -Wow.

Only one? Mmm?

(WHISTLING SOUND )

Whoo-hey!

And the last one!

(ZIGGY CHEERING)

ZIGGY: Wow!

Here you go!

-Thanks, Sportacus. -Thank you!

Come on, Ziggy.

ZIGGY: Whoa! Whoa!

My ice cream's in trouble!

Ah!

Try it this way. It's easier.

You must be the greatest ice-cream man on this planet!

-I guess I am. -I think you are.

-Have a nice day. -BOTH: Thanks.

Is this right?

"Right"? This is the greatest thing ever!

Let's tell Pixel. He will love this!

What do you think you're doing?

-Push-ups. -Push-ups?

No! You don't do push-ups!

They are dangerous! They tire you out!

Even worse!

Why don't you sit down for a minute?

Sit down! Down!

-Can't you sit still for a minute? -No, I don't think so.

Well, do what you want,

but never save anyone!

You've already said that!

Okay, back to work.

Ice cream, anyone?

Oh, come on!

I can't get my computer to work!

Sportacus has been acting strange today.

He gave me and Ziggy ice cream.

Ice cream's good.

(BELL DINGING)

Ice cream!

He's still at it!

He's still at it? Can I have more? Can I?

Oh, hey!

Anyone, get your ice cream!

Something's not right.

Hi! Ice cream?

-Yes, please! -Ziggy.

Oh! Oh...

-You have to stop that! -Why?

You're a superhero and don't eat ice cream.

-A superhero? -Yeah, you save people all day.

-I do? -Six, seven, eight times a day.

Can't you remember that you do that?

-I don't remember anything! -Oh! Huh?

-Oh, he doesn't remember anything! -Oh, no!

His memory's been sucked from his head, like my computer.

-We must help him get it back. -Yeah!

Let's remind him of some things.

ZIGGY: Let's do that, come on! PIXEL: Come on! Let's do it!

-Come on, follow me. -Okay.

# Have you ever skipped rope? # Uh-uh, uh-uh, uh-uh

# Have you never played ball? # Uh-uh, uh-uh, uh-uh

# Never jumped around? # Uh-uh, uh-uh, uh-uh

# Have you never danced at all?

- # Skipping rope, left to right -I can try that.

- # Crossing over and back -Like this!

- # Hit the ball on your head -That's easy!

# Knees, chest and feet

# You gotta listen to me

# Can't you see That life is full of games?

# And they make you feel so happy

# You know they make you wanna fly

# So play games all your life

- # Jumping forward and back -I could try!

# Now try it reverse -Look at this!

- # Dance to the beat -I've never done that.

# Clap your hands and move about

# You gotta listen to me

# Can't you see That life is full of games?

# And they make you feel so happy

# You know they make you wanna fly

# So play games all your Every single

# Life is full of games

# And they make you feel so happy

# You know they make you wanna fly

# So play games every single day of your life #

Hah!

-Did it work? -Did it?

-I almost remember remembering. -Yeah?

Then I don't remember. I'm sorry.

Wait! Pixel! What if we showed him some pictures?

-That might help. -And video clips of...

My computer memory's fried, like his.

-No time to lose. You must fix it. -I'm on it!

-Let's go! Come on! -Wait here.

Okay. Those kids really want to help me.

-What a nice group of kids. -Nice?

Whoa!

You think they're nice?

-Those kids were fooling you. -No!

Yes! They like to call you names!

-No! -Yes!

They like to call you Mr Flippity-Flippity-Flip.

-No! -Yes!

My favourite... I mean, the one you hate most...

What is it?

I can't say it! It's too awful.

Why don't you write it?

Write it?

Hrm!

ROBBIE: Don't rush me!

-That's not even a word. -I know!

I don't know how to spell it!

Ah-ha!

-I'll whisper it to you. -Ah-ha.

Come closer.

Closer. Closer.

No! Back. Little bit.

Stop!

The blue elf?

-That's not nice. -Isn't it awful?

-What should I do? -I think you should go home.

Go home? I don't remember where I live.

You live up there.

Wow! An airship! Is it mine?

-Of course! -How do I get up?

-First, you do some moves. -I can do that.

-I'm ready. -Whatever. You must say the "L" word.

"L" word? Okay. Lettuce!

Uh! That's not the word.

-Sorry. -No problem.

-I try again. -Try again.

-Letters! -No! No! That's not the word.

Okay. Uh... Ladder!

-Ladder? -It works!

-How does he do that? -Great!

-Ah-ha! -It's great!

Why don't you go up and do what you do best?

Knitting?

Okay.

-All right. -Okay.

-I'll create a circuit pathway. -A what?

And reboot the hard drive.

This has to work. We must get Sportacus' memory back.

-And here we go. -Okay.

Ah...

-Ah! -ZIGGY: Oh, wow!

-Yeah! -Yeah! It worked!

Let me copy Sportacus clips from my laptop

-and reboot Sportacus' memory. -All right!

Sportacus is in his airship and has no memory! Ha-ha-ha!

So I just have to pop the airship like this balloon.

He'll blow away and never find his way back. Forever!

ZIGGY: Come on, guys.

Once he sees these, his memory will return.

That's right. Come on!

I have to stop those kids. What can I use to trap them?

This should do.

Perfect!

PIXEL: Sportacus needs a mental push, and I've got just the thing!

-ZIGGY: Whoa! -What?

-What? -A lollipop! Look!

-There's no time. -It's stuck!

Pull it! Hurry.

Yes! Back to work.

Ziggy! What did you do?

Oh... Now we'll never help him get his memory back!

(STRAINING)

Seems like a lovely day to do some flying!

I am really good at this!

Ah-ha!

(STRAINING)

-Thank you. -Careful!

ROBBIE: Ready, aim, fire!

(SCREAMING)

Oh, no.

A shoe?

What in the world?

ALL: Help! Help!

(BEEPING)

I remember now.

I'm Sportacus.

Someone's in trouble!

What was that?

Aah!

Looks like Robbie.

(SCREAMING)

Door!

Look!

ALL: Sportacus!

-Who? -Oh, no!

His brain is still drained.

He's back! Yeah!

-Yes! -Shh!

Somebody help me!

Ow!

Sportacus! The hero I've been looking for!

-Save me! -Save you?

-Yeah. -Don't you remember?

You told me, "Never save anyone!"

I meant, "Never save anyone but me!" What do you say?

Buddy? Pal?

-I don't know. -Know! Know!

(BRANCH CRACKING)

(PIXEL LAUGHING)

ALL: Yeah!

You need to wear a helmet all the time.

Though my memory is back, I can still be your friend.

-Friend? -Yes.

With friends like you, who needs friends?

What?

Has anyone seen my shoe? My shoe is missing!

Shoe, where are you?

ALL: Sportacus!

-Let's get you out of here. -Yeah!

(CHEERING)

-Are you okay? -Yeah!

(CHEERING)

We're free! I'm glad you got your memory back.

Me, too. I remember what I like best.

-Serve ice cream? -No, this!

(CHEERING)

# Bing bang diggiriggidong

-Mr Rotten, I found your shoe. -I'm in here.

-Where? -In here!

There you are.
