Ronan: It's like oriental trying to copy some concept from the westers /not that it's bad

Ronan: I really liked the mv

Ronan: Wohoo~ pink nintendo

Ronan: They really singing in Korean? I'm listening many english in this

Jefferson: Are they like... very famous in Korea?

Jefferson: Yeah... I thought so~

Ronan: I really liked them~ their MVs are really well made

Ronan: Their outfits are cool, their makeup are pretty good too...

Ronan: They have that kind of bitch faces ~ like... ' I'm fabulous~ '

Ronan: I just didn't liked this choreo too much

Jefferson: Nah~ maybe Koreans just like things like this

Ronan: But PSY dances very much

Ronan: Yup~ Idk why, but I have a kind of fear of asian girls

i have about 15 minutes to film this

video and I have no idea if I can do

this in that time.

Hi guys, it's Kav from kavyathe

bibliophile and welcome to the first

video of 2017. Today I'm going to be

sharing with you all my January TBR. I

haven't done a TBR in a while so if any

of you all are new to my videos, what I do is

I show you all the books I'm going to be

reading in the month, in the order I plan

to read them and then I tell you a

little bit about them or a little bit

about my history with them, similar to

how my December book haul was in sharing

the information. I have four books I'm

planning to read this month. I'm trying to

do a book a week because I don't want to

start off with too ambitious of a TBR,

I think that was an issue that I had

last year so I'm trying to avoid that

especially because it's january and I

want to start this year off on a good

start and I'll be going back to school

soon so I don't want to be putting

myself through too much reading. Now, let's

jump in to the books I'm planning to read!

The first book that I have that I

started on the first of this month is

Carry On by Rainbow Rowell and I'm over

halfway into it and I'm enjoying it so

far.

It follows the story of Simon Snow, who

is a wizard and is kind of the chosen

one,

but as his roommate Baz, who is a vampire

says, he's the worst chosen one there is.

This story is a mixture of action and

romance and it just has a little bit of

everything.

It's a little bit different than a

regular Rainbow Rowell book because it's not

contemporary, it's fantasy and so far

again, like I said I'm enjoying it,

I have some mixed opinions on that, but

you guys will hear more about my

specifics in my review of it / in my

January wrap-up. The next book I'm planning to read,

which is actually a re-read is Fangirl, also

by Rainbow Rowell. For those of you who don't

know, Carry On is kind of a fictional

story from Fangirl, so just reading Carry On

kind of brought me back to when I was

reading this one and I remember just

loving it because it's one that I think

I can relate to and so many of us can

because we all love reading and we love

writing and we just love fangirling /

fanboying / fanpersoning over different

things. I think this is one that a lot of

us can relate to. This one follows the

story of a girl names Cath, who is a huge

Simon Snow fan and she writes fan fiction

and it's practically her life, but now

that she's in college, her twin sister

Wren kind of moves on and she's kind of

saying that she doesn't want to be roomates with

Cath anymore, so Cath is kind of stuck

feeling like she still wants to fangirl,

but that she's not allowed to because

she's now in college and I remember just

loving this book the first time I read it,

so I'm really excited to re-read it,

especially after having read Carry On -

I'm excited to see if that changes how I

feel about the book or anything.

The next book I have for January is Me,

Earl, and the Dying Girl by Jesse

Andrews and this is one that I think was

on one of my TBRs last year, but I

never actually got to it. It was a short

film that was kind of popular I never

actually saw it, but it follows the story

of a boy named Greg who isn't excited

for high school and

he just wants to keep his head low and

just make films with his best friend,

Earl, but all that kind of changes when

his mom forces him to be friends with a

girl who has cancer.

I'm really excited to see where this one

goes, again I haven't seen the film, I

don't know too much about it. It just seemed

really interesting when I picked it up

and I had remembered hearing some good

reviews about it, so I'm really excited

to give this one a shot as well. The last

book I'm planning to read this month is Into

White by Randi Pink and I actually

haven't heard a lot of talk on this in

the book community, but it was a gift to

me from a friend and it kind of plays

with the idea of racial barriers. There

is a main character who goes to a

predominantly white school, so she makes

this wish to be anything but black and

then she wakes up the next day as a

white person. I'm really excited to read

this one and kind of be opened up to

some more diversity, you know, see what

it's like growing up in a place where

you're the only person of color. I think

that this one is definitely going to be

eye-opening if it's written well. Like I

said I haven't heard too much talk of it

on the book community, so I don't know

too much about it -

the friend who gave it to me did read it

before and had some mixed opinions on it,

so I'm excited to see how I feel about

it and to share my opinions on it with all

of you. As I said in the beginning of

this video, I don't want to give myself

too much to read - especially starting off

the year and especially going back to

school,

I don't want to be filled with too many

books which is why I'm just starting off

with these four and they all sound really

interesting, I'm almost done with Carry On

and I'm enjoying it so far,

Fangirl is a re-read, and the other two are

new books that I'm excited to jump into

and see where they take

me and that's about all I actually have

for this video. Again, I'm on a time

crunch when filming it so I'm trying to

make this kind of as quick as possible. As
