What If? The Secret to Health and Fitness - Duration: 3:05.

This is going to be fun! I hope it's going to be fun for you...

Imagination and vision are very powerful. You know people talk about vision boards

and putting up pictures of what you want... What I want you to do now is just to

close your eyes and listen to my voice and think and imagine. Whether you

imagine with pictures, or whether you just have an inside voice where you talk

out this story to yourself. So close your eyes now. We're sitting across from each

other, whether that be in person or on Skype, and I'm like, "So good to see you

12 months later! I want you to tell me what's happened in this last 12

months. In this last 12 months you've done some tremendous things. You achieved

your health and fitness goals. How does that make you feel when you think about

how good it is to be in this place. How good it is to have this healthier,

stronger, leaner, more fit body? How does it make you feel that you've lost all

that excess body fat around your waist? How does it make you feel that you're

fitting into clothes that you haven't put on in quite some time? How does your

partner feel about you? You got more mojo? You feel more sexy? Are you getting laid

more often? How do you feel when your friends come up to you that you haven't seen

in a while? They're like, "Wow, look at you! What did you do? You look fantastic!

You've lost so much weight, you look so much happier!" If you've got kids are you

playing with them more? What's important to you now, one year later, that you made a

commitment to your health and your fitness and your well-being. What's changed?

You're can open up your eyes but I

would really recommend you do one of the following with those things I suggested.

Either handwrite, or use your computer or your phone, make some notes, or just take

your phone and put it in selfie mode. Hold up your phone right in front of you,

straighten out your elbow and now tell yourself that story where you are one

year from now. You've achieved your health and fitness goals. How would you

feel? How would you feel about yourself on the inside? How do other people react

and respond to you? What do you look like? What kind of clothes are you

wearing? Who are you with? What are you doing that you haven't been doing? What

are you enjoying that you haven't given yourself the permission to do now that

you've achieved your body and your health goals. Do that! You don't have to

show that to anyone, it's just a record from today's date that could really be a

powerful tool when you look back at it if you find yourself struggling. One more

video... I'm going to tell you about how you can take action on your 'why' so that

you can implement all the strategies to get this "what if" scenario so that it

won't be a "what-if" anymore but it will be what you want.

How to Make Garlicky Green Beans - A 15-minute Side Dish ⏰ - Duration: 3:53.

Hi welcome to my video! Here's a recipe for garlicky green beans. Green beans are

in season right now in Toronto and I can't get enough. I buy them every single

week. This is a really simple recipe it makes a great side dish. The first

thing you have to do is prepare your beans so make sure that they are

thoroughly washed and then go ahead and cut off both of the tips. Then what I

like to do is slice my bean down the center along that ridge and then again

in half just like that. Cutting the beans in this way as opposed

to cooking them whole just helps to reduce the cooking time and if there's

something unsightly on your bean feel free to go ahead and cut that right off.

I also feel that cutting the beans in this way makes it look like I have a

whole lot more beans than I actually do. This does take some time so I

usually just sit down with an audio book or a show and you know, go to work. Next

you're going to need some garlic just go ahead and chop that up or slice it up in

any way you see fit. The shape does not matter and next a medium sized onion. I

like to slice this into half-moon shapes but as I mentioned before just cut

things the way you want them. Nothing in this recipe has to be too fussy or exact.

You also need a medium sized tomato so go ahead and chop that up too and

while you're looking at my footage of me cutting up my tomato thinking: "Wow she

needs to sharpen that knife," go ahead and hit the subscribe button as well as the

notification bell so you know when I post new recipes which, incidentally, is

every Monday. Now the only other two things that you need in this recipe are

salt and pepper because this is very simple and the green beans really are

the star. You want to taste their natural flavour. Moving on, heat up some oil in a

non-stick on medium heat and cook the onions and garlic together until just

before the onions become translucent and for me, that takes anywhere from three to

four minutes. Then go ahead and add in the green beans and incorporate them

with the onion and garlic. Now this might seem like a lot of beans right now but

these are going to cook down and the quantity will reduce a little bit. At

this point you can also add the salt and pepper and adjust this later if necessary.

Next you should turn down the heat, cover

this up and allow it to cook for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes add in the

chopped tomato and mix everything well then, cover it up again, keep it on low

heat and cook it for another 5 minutes. Once they've cooked for 10 minutes I like to

check the texture of the beans. I don't want them to be limp, I like them to

retain a little bit of their bite. So I do this by just reaching in there,

grabbing a bean and testing it out. My beans needed another 2 minutes and once

they were done this is what they looked like. This is a really quick recipe, if

all of your ingredients are prepped you can pull this off in 15 minutes. And as you

can see here, I'm trying to show you the texture of this dish, the tomato is nice

and mushy but it's not completely dissolved and the bean itself is not at

all limp. It still maintains a lot of its own bite, it's able to hold its own shape,

and natural sweetness shines through alongside that garlicky flavour. I hope

you make this and if you do, take a picture put it on Instagram, and tag me

so that I can see your food creations. And as usual thank you so much for

watching! Buh bye!

Fiturama - PROTEIN: What you should know! - Duration: 7:30.

protein protein protein protein everybody's talking about protein oh you

go to the gym you should have some protein well enough let's talk about it

what is it protein is a molecule found in food that

can be broken down into something called amino acids in total there are 20 amino

acids that your body needs off those 20 your body can make 11 but there are

another nine called essential amino acids that your body can create and you

have to get them through food whenever you eat your body breaks down the

protein in that food in order to get the amino acids out of it that in need okay

so why is this important protein is the building blocks off the body think of it

like bricks in a house you get a bunch of bricks you stack them up you put them

together in the right way and all of a sudden you end up with a house a nice

house in the good part of town all of your organs your hair your skin your

muscles your nails are built using proteins a lot of you hormones also use

proteins you need protein in order for your blood immune system and digestive

systems to work correctly it's safe to say that without protein with all be in

a pretty bad spot it helps build and repair muscle helps reduce hunger pains

and also can charge up your fat-burning metabolism protein is therefore an

essential part of our diet it's vital for our development and without it our

body just wouldn't work properly okay so now that you have an idea of what

protein is and what it does where do you get it well the grocery store is a good

place to start but specifically which foods do we get it from well don't ask

anybody who knows anything about anything and they're going to tell you

that the best sources come from the most natural sources salmon tuna B chicken

cheese eggs beans nuts tofu edamame canola quinoa

vanilla I don't fucking know the point is the more processed your food is the

quicker you're going to thread in your fitness game so what does this mean for

you mr. gym goer man or lady let's not discriminate yo can I just say I love

the gym girls I just spend all my time on Instagram

just browsing through oh she's nice look at that one

I'm still scrolling I DoubleTap that if you know what I'm saying if you're

someone that goes to the gym you've had proteins shoved in your face a billion

times no make that a billion billion times in fact you've had protein shoved

in your face of Google times I'm not talking about the website either Larry

Page protein is everywhere supplements bars yogurts cookies brownies candy

cakes breakfast cereals breakfast cereals are you kidding me and even

though I've just spent the best part of this video explaining why having protein

is good I'm going to explain why having it in so many products is actually a bad

thing a balanced diet typically comprises of three things proteins

carbohydrates and fats every person needs to get a good amount of each not

too much not too little what determines how much you should be getting you ask

basically it comes down to your weight and your activity level

think of it right if you're a big dude who works out a lot and lifts a lot of

weight you're going to need a lot more fuel in your tank than say a little kid

who plays video games all day because you do more you need more but there are

limits that still exist a brown bear can eat as much as 90 pounds of food a day

so you might be working out a lot and you may need more food than most people

but you don't need 90 pounds worth of food that's too much

see limits a balanced diet is recognizing those limits and staying

within the parameters of it again not too little not too much so what's this

got to do with protein well everything having too little protein is bad for you

but also having too much can bring its own problems I know fitness is really

popular now and a lot of people are doing it which is really good and all

but let's just take a sec to remember that it wasn't always like this

I started going to the gym in 2003 and back then going to the gym wasn't a

popular thing to do in fact whenever I drink my protein shake people thought it

was gross and even made fun of me don't worry I'm okay with it with the

explosion of social media more and more people started getting

into it and suddenly having protein became a normal thing to do naturally

companies started figuring out ways to compete in the market by adding protein

to their already existing products on top of that yes every supplement from

the end of the Sun providing products with even more protein protein cookies

protein brownies baking pancakes protein muffins health they even have protein

candy I'm not saying that these are necessarily bad products nor am I saying

that companies trying to get a slice of the fitness market is a bad thing what I

am saying is that you need to make smart decisions that support your health and

fitness goals and consider the necessity of having a balanced diet with the

increase of consumers in the fitness industry a lot of companies have flooded

the markets with products to sell to you the way that they do that is they use

the protein content to draw you in getting your protein from a natural

source is always a good choice if you went to bodybuilding coach threw a bunch

of money at him and told him hey I want to lose some fat because I want to

compete in the bodybuilding show in 12 weeks time I sincerely doubt he'd

include cookies and chocolates in your diet program I mean that's a reasonable

assumption to make right what you probably find is that you would have a

specific amount of food to eat typically you'd weigh your food on little food

skills the reason why this is done is because we can figure out the protein

carb and fat values of foods by weighing it because you're aiming to get certain

amounts of proteins carbs and fat it's important to keep track of them not too

little not too much balance so roughly how much protein is enough

what's too much what's too little here's a very simple way to figure it out

figure out how much you weight in pounds and then have one gram of protein for

every pound so if you weigh 150 pounds then have 150 grams of protein 200

pounds is 200 grams of protein 100 pounds is 100 grams of protein that's

really about it adjust it if you need to but that should

give you a good idea of where you should be

hey thanks for listening to me ramble on about protein for friggin seven minutes

I'm gonna try and put you off any products or make you angry because that

wasn't my intention I just want you to be aware that too

much protein can be as bad as too little too much protein can cause dehydration

extra strain on your kidneys and not to mention the old protein parts I just

don't want anybody falling into the trap of thinking just because something has

protein in it it's automatically okay I hope you learned something and I hope it

makes you think a little more critically about protein and hey if you like the

video you can click that subscribe button right there and that will let you

know when new videos are coming out hmm and hey I'm also on Instagram which I

posted pretty regularly you should check me out if you haven't followed me and if

you have followed me well you can follow me some more I don't know and if you

like working out so much that you've got to watch a whole video about it share

this with a friend it helps me and it helps the channel and that would be good

and now I'm just going to stare at you for a couple of seconds

Improving Global Health: Causes of Burden and Harm (HarvardX) - Duration: 3:04.

So today, I am very excited to have Dr. David Bates with me.

Dr. Bates is the Chief of General Medicine at Brigham and Women's

Hospital where he's also the Chief Quality Officer.

But the real reason we have him, beyond those very important positions he has,

is that he has been the sort of pioneer in studying patient safety, health

information technology, and how they intersect.

Dave, thank you so much for coming.

Thanks for having me.

So I want to start off by first taking a theoretical example.

Here we are at the Harvard School of Public Health.

We're right across the street from Brigham and Women's Hospital.

Imagine the Brigham is a typical American hospital and I am a patient,

I have some illness, and I go to the hospital.

I go to the Brigham.

What am I at risk at?

From an adverse event, patient safety point of view,

what are bad things that could happen to me if I'm at the hospital?

Of course, we try to do as much as we can to keep you from getting any of those bad

things, but the fact is that there are a number of

things can happen.

You could have an adverse drug event, or be harmed by a medication.

I'm going to just take a minute and write these down.

So adverse drug event.

Keep going.

You could have a hospital acquired infection.

OK.

So I'm going to call that HAI, hospital acquired infection.

You could fall.

You could develop a pressure ulcer.

You could have a surgical complication.

And you could have a deep venous thrombosis.

Those are really the main causes of harm.

I'll call that DVT, deep venous thrombosis.

So let's go through each of these a little bit more carefully.

Adverse drug event.

How do you think about it?

What is an adverse drug event?

An adverse drug event is any injury that's caused by a medication.

OK.

And about how often do these occur in a typical let's say, American

or Western hospital.

They happen in between seven and 15 per 100 admissions.

Infections, it's about three per 100 admissions.

Fall is about 1%.

Pressure ulcers are about 3%.

Surgical complication is about 2%.

You have to have surgery, obviously, to have a complication.

And deep venous thrombosis is about 1%.

So none of these numbers offhand look very big, but is this a big problem?

It is a big problem.

When you add them up, turns out that somewhere between 10 and 25%

of patients who come to the hospital have something bad

happen to them as the result of the hospitalization.

What the exact number is depends a little bit on how hard you look.

Is this a uniquely American problem, David?

No, we now have studies from all over the world that

show that the rate of harm is on the order of this magnitude.

And most of the international studies which have come from developed countries, the rate

has been about 10 in a 100 admissions.

Top 5 associations and organizations that invest in the destruction of the health of Americans - Duration: 7:31.

Top 5 associations and organizations that invest in the destruction of the health of

Americans

by Edward Morgan

There is much more money to be made by making people sick and treating that sickness with

useless chemical medicines than there is to be made by healing people, and that is definitely

unfortunate.

Since before World War II, many associations, administrations, agencies and corporations

have plotted and planned the total debasement of American food and medicine as an insidious

means of getting rich and staying rich, and it worked.

Still, most Americans believe these agencies and non-profit organizations would never

be so evil and insidious.

These folks are often called sheeple because they follow the herd of blind animals

over the health cliff by taking directions from all the wolves in sheeps clothing.

Where do you get your health advice and whos behind the causes you support?

If you dont know the true history of the last century of American food and medicine,

then you are most likely being steered into your own health and wealth bankruptcy.

Is that what you want?

Heres the bottom line on food and medicine.

Its all changed drastically over the last 100 years in this country.

If you dont believe it then you are very naive.

The key to staying health or regaining your natural health is to investigate all food

and medicine for chemicals.

Any food or medicine concocted in a laboratory or coated with chemicals concocted in a laboratory

will break down your immune system and warp your cells.

Thats why its so important to seek out organic food and natural medicine these days.

Your ideal health (and your familys) should be your number one order of business, because

the number one order of business for the following 5 American associations and organizations

is to steal your money by making you sick and keeping you sick, all while having you

support them and believe they are out to help you.

#1.

The American Medical Association (AMA)

From TruthWiki:

The year is 1847.

Physicians in America are not enjoying competing with inexpensive, natural remedies, which

are offered by Indians and skilled midwives.

These are remedies which are effective but are not profitable or patentable, so elitist

physicians join forces and form an alliance called the AMA, the American Medical Association.

Not just any doctor was allowed to join this new, prestigious organization, but only the

regulars everyone knew well, and those who did not use herbal remedies, homeopathy

or Native American remedies for anything.

By the turn of 1900, word got out fast.

The AMA is hiring and if you join the patentable remedy industry there would

be plenty of money to go around.

Critics called it the Great American Fraud, and the AMA doesnt like critics, so they

created an anti-critic department called the Department of Investigation, or DOI, to hunt

down and shut down doctors and healers alike that were still using natural remedies, and

thus digging into the profits of the AMA.

Did you know that the AMA has one of the largest political lobbying budgets of any U.S. organization?

Thats right, the AMA publicly reports that it generates up to $70,000,000 in revenue

annually.

Did you also know that the AMA has been found guilty of racketeeringthree times?

Thats why you should never trust chemical-based medicine it was a fraud from its very

beginning, and nothings changed in 170 years.

#2.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA)

The FDA green lights nearly any drug that is chemical based for treating disease and

disorder, yet bans every single seller of natural remedies from stating on a product

label that the remedy cures or prevents disease or disorder, when thousands of them really

do.

The FDA also promotes GMOs without labels, when 90 percent of Americans want them labeled.

#3.

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)

The CDC is a for-profit corporation listed on Dun and Bradstreet.

During the 2016 fiscal year alone, the CDC Foundation raised over $42 million.

The donor list for that year includes dozens of evil corporations, including Bayer Corporation,

Cargill, Inc., The Coca Cola Company, Johnson & Johnson, Merck, and of course the Pfizer

Foundation.

The list of partners listed on their website is even more depressing.

The list of the CDC Foundations corporate partners is replete with pharmaceutical companies,

insurance providers, pesticide manufacturers and biotechnology companies.

It is truly mind-boggling that such an organization not only exists, but was sanctioned by Congress.

#4.

The American Heart Association (AHA)

These clowns post toxic recipes on their website that literally cause diabetes, cancer and

heart disease.

Are they making money from diabetes or trying to prevent it?

The AHA attacks coconut oil as a bad fat, when it helps prevent Alzheimers and is

one of the healthiest fats humans can possibly consume.

The AHA is just another rogue organization funded by Big Pharma with insidious goals

that undermine its very slogans.

#5.

Susan G. Komen For the Cure (Komen Foundation)

Criticized for its use of donor funds and choices in sponsors, like Kentucky Fried Chicken

(KFC), cancer education by Komen is in full swing, with a huge push for mammograms all

over the world.

Reviews of mammograms suggest an increased risk of developing breast cancer from too

much radiation, plus mammograms run the risk of false-positive readings.

Anyone hungry for a bucket of hydrogenated-oil-soaked, hormone-laced KFC?

Komen also sells bottles of alcoholic Mikes Hard Lemonade at the events.

Lets all get drunk and then walk crooked for the cure for something.

Be sure not to drive home!

Komen Foundation takes in more than $55 million a year from sponsors like PepsiCo and KFC,

and the CEO of Komen, Nancy Brinker, takes home an annual salary approaching $700,000

while suing any organization that even tries to use the word cure in their slogan or logo.

Great work Komen!
