Waching daily Sep 29 2017

Hey guys we are on our way to Amsterdam

Because I'm going back home for two weeks to visit my family, and I found a very cheap flight leaving from Amsterdam

So we decided to spend some time in this gorgeous city now

You know that we've been in a long-distance relationship for about two years

Before Joss moved to Germany and now that Joss is going back to Mexico although it's only for two weeks

We thought we're gonna take you with us

And we take the opportunity to tell you our five top tips that helped us the most with our long-distance relationship

Tip number one take the risk and go all-in so the first question that you usually ask yourself is

Do I even want to be in an LDR because most people are scared of being in a

Relationship where they're far away from the person they love. Honestly in the beginning

I didn't want to be in a long-distance relationship as well me neither because I thought Mexico and Germany, that's so so far away

but then we thought if we never tried it, we will never find out if it worked out so we took the risk and

In the end it turned out great and even if you have been in a long-distance relationship

Before and it didn't work out doesn't mean that your next relationship

If it's long-distance will not work out either every relationship is different and also if you decide yes

We're gonna do this you have to go all-in that means you both have to commit yeah to your relationship

And if there's one person that's like yeah, well, I'm not sure

Then it's not gonna work out so you both have to be committed and

Try everything to make it work. So that was our first tip and let's go to Amsterdam

So we are in Amsterdam from Munich we drove

Eight hours, yeah pretty exhausting and on the other side behind the camera

There is the I amsterdam sign yeah, and the Museum

So here's our tip number two which is trust and honesty a lot of couples have problems with trust and honesty

Even when they are not in a long-distance relationship, so imagine with the distance

It's even worse you really need to learn how to trust your partner

And how to understand that you cannot control everything they're doing even less from a distance. So you need to trust them and be honest

With them and if there's anything that's not working out for you

Then you should totally talk about it because you cannot see the other person you cannot see their body language

So it's even harder if you can only see each other on skype or talking on the phone

But also try to understand that maybe the other person would handle a long-distance relationship

Differently than you, and that's why you have to talk about it and come up with something that works for you

And now let's see a little bit more of Amsterdam

Joss is gonna leave from amsterdam in like an hour no, three hours, so we're gonna be back in a long-distance relationship

For two weeks, but still... can you guess what bench we're sitting on?

Do you recognize the background or do you recognize the bench itself there it is?

We're talking about the movie The Fault in Our Stars because we are a couple we had to go here

Now we here..

Started from the bottom now we here

somebody told us that this is not the original

bench because somebody stole it. How does it feel to sit on?

How does it feel to sit on that famous bench, it's so special you have no idea. It's just like an random street

Honestly, it's not even that pretty. Oh, I almost fell in the water

But it's cool. You should come and check it out if you're a fan of the movie

Especially not many people know about it, so it's not that busy here

But here were a lot of people already and leaving their Lock

Hey guys, I'm back in Germany without Joss, Joss is in Mexico right now, but from here

I'm gonna give you our third tip which is be creative, people don't realize but there are so many different ways on

How we can spend more time together although you're in a long-distance

relationship for example

you can cook together put your laptop next to you while you're cooking and then have a romantic Skype dinner afterwards or

You can watch movies together

just put on a movie on your laptop and press play at the exact same time and

when the other person is on Skype at the same time you can talk to each other while watching a movie just wear headphones because

Otherwise you can hear the sound from the other one as well

Or you can play games download an app on your phone and play online against each other

Yeah

There are endless possibilities

Take the other one with you when you go shopping

Send each other photos or videos just find different things that you do during the day

Where you can take the other one with you or you can do together and from here?

We're gonna go to Mexico and Joss is gonna tell you our next tip

and now all the way from Mexico tip number four is

Surprise each other in a long-distance relationship is very important to make the other one feel special from so far away

So one way of doing that is giving them little surprises every now and then and make them feel cool

It can go from a very special message that day or

Something that they are not expecting from you one time Janik was feeling a little down in Germany

And I was the way in Mexico. I wanted to be there for him

I asked his friend if he could print out a letter that I wrote for Janik

And if he could buy a little chocolate on my behalf, and he did it and he felt so much better

He was so happy about it, and it wasn't so expensive. I still owe Dennis that chocolate though

You can also look up some flower shops and buy something for it to be delivered to them you can also send a package to

Yourself from your city, but be very careful and really try to spend a little more money

in getting a tracking number and an insurance

For your package because Janik one time sent me a package from Germany to Mexico and it got lost in the mail it never arrived

It didn't have a tracking number nor insurance

and it was

Very very sad for us so be careful with that and try to save up as much money as you can buy a ticket to

Go visit them and surprise them. It's the most amazing feeling in the world and it's totally worth the money

I know flight tickets can be very expensive, but you can also find some pretty cheap ones

Let us know in a comment down below. If you would be interested in having a video of us telling you

how we find cheap flights. And for the last tip I'm gonna transport myself to Germany in 1, 2 ..

Whoa?

How did you get here

Magic. She's back yay

And now we're ready to give you our final tip number 5, which is you need to have a goal

What do we mean by that we mean that it's really helpful if you know ok, it's gonna

Take this amount of time until I can see my partner again for us that was always the most helpful thing yeah

Because whenever we came back from seeing each other we tried to figure out as soon as possible

Ok when can we see each other again because then we had a goal

that we could look forward to and that motivated us to keep going I

Personally had a little more crisis during the relationship than Janik when I was meeting him so much

And I was like I cannot deal with this distance one more second

It was when we didn't really have a specific goal, and I realized that later

We didn't know when we were gonna see each other again, so feel like an eternity

But later when we actually got a goal and we tried to keep that going as much as possible we were like okay

We have to hold on to this

Distance until that day where we can be with each other again

So if you can try to find a date when you can see each other again

It's really helpful it helped us a lot and with that tip we're gonna say goodbye from this video

We hope you liked it a lot if you're new to our channel welcome

We love you subscribe and if you have been following us for these weeks. Thank you so much for sticking with us

We look forward to see you in the next video. Bye. Bye

The Equifax Breach: What Hackers Know About You - Duration: 10:02.

In May of this year, as Americans were planning their summer vacations and counting down the

days before their kids got out of school, the credit reporting agency Equifax was dealing

with one of the largest data breaches in American history that resulted in the personal data

of more than 143 million Americans getting into the wrong hands.

To understand the data breach, let me talk to you about what a credit reporting agency

like Equifax is.

Equifax received credit data from credit card companies, cell phone carriers, car dealerships,

and other corporations who run credit for consumers.

These agencies report their data to companies like Equifax who then use it to generate a

credit score.

What does that mean for you?

It means companies like Equifax have all of your personal data, - even though you never

signed up for it.

The hackers who broke into the Equifax system accessed information such as names, Social

Security numbers, birth dates, addresses, credit card numbers and the numbers of some

driver's licenses.

The company said that credit card numbers for about 209 thousand U.S. customers were

compromised, in addition to "personal identifying information" on about 182 thousand U.S. customers.

And even though the data breach was discovered at the end of July, get this: Nothing was

revealed to the public until the first week of September.

In a perfect world, Equifax would have immediately offered to help protect the identities of

the people who were compromised and do whatever it takes to make things right.

But apparently they're not that kind of company.

Instead, they offered people a chance to sign up for their credit monitoring programs – a

service that they said would be free at first, but then you'd have to start paying.

And to add insult to injury, if you sign up for their service, you might be effectively

signing away your right to sue the company for their negligence.

The company saw the data breach as a business opportunity instead of a chance to do the

right thing – a common theme we see here in corporate America.

Joining me now to discuss this is attorney Michael Bixby.

Mikey, let's start with the basics of this issue.

How long did the hackers have access to the information, and what exactly did they obtain?

What's surprising is that they could've had access to this data for two and a half months

or maybe even longer, and the reason why they were able to exploit Equifax's system is because

Equifax failed to essentially install an update to the software that they were using that

was available in March.

In March of this year, they could've essentially fixed the problem that was exploited by the

hackers, and apparently they were just asleep at the wheel and no one installed the update.

By May, the hackers had access to this data, and could have had it for two, two and a half

months to recover this data.

As you've mentioned, as many as 143 million Americans' information could have been leaked

to these hackers, and the types of information that these hackers obtained is very important.

These include things like a Social Security number.

They include things like full name, date of birth, addresses, even things like credit

card numbers for a couple hundred thousand Americans, and information such as driver's

licenses.

This information is very important.

It's private, confidential information that you don't want other people to access.

Now, Michael, once they had the information, what do the hackers do with it?

Typically, what you'll see happen is that the hackers themselves aren't the people who

are ultimately going to perpetrate the crime or the fraud on someone.

They'll usually sell the data to someone else who's going to try to use it, typically for

their own financial benefit.

They might use it to try to obtain a loan in your name.

They might actually try to use those credit card numbers to make purchases.

They might try to open up a new account, whatever it is, whatever nefarious activity, where

they're trying to use your personal confidential information essentially to get themselves

money or make themselves money.

It might be sold and resold and resold for years.

The problem is, once the data is out, once your Social Security number is available,

that information is perpetually valuable to a hacker.

It's valuable tomorrow and the next day because your Social Security number doesn't change.

You might be worried for a year or 5 years or 10 years going out in the future, and this

could be used potentially to harm you and benefit somebody else.

All right.

Now, we know this isn't the first breach here with national information.

Now, is Equifax responsible for stopping hacks, or is something like that considered out of

their control?

Equifax is absolutely responsible for stopping hacks.

The type of information that they have access to, even from non-customers, they have a very

heightened duty to protect that information because of how important it is, because of

what it means to the average American consumer.

These have been big issues for a number of years.

You can look back over the years.

Target.

You can name off other major retailers who have been hacked, and the type of information

they have is much more specific and much more direct than a lot of other retailers have

because they have access to essentially the golden ticket of information.

It's not just a credit card.

It's not just a name.

It's the combination of all those things, the Social Security numbers, all these other

data points, which are invaluable to a hacker.

Now, Equifax is a huge company.

They're based out of Atlanta.

Now, do they play a large role in lobbying the agencies or groups that were investigating

this breach?

Absolutely.

In the past year alone, before this breach happened, Equifax spent over a million dollars

lobbying.

You can look at the things they were lobbying about.

One of those included regulations and laws that would relate to data breach, the precise

situation we have here.

They were lobbying against having new regulations or new laws that would essentially control

them.

They've also lobbied against things like the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau's rule

against barring class action.

They've been trying to get that to where they can control and they can force people into

arbitrations and make them waive their right to bring a class action, which in this type

of a scenario, where most consumers will be harmed on a relatively smaller scale, a few

hundred dollars, maybe even a couple thousand dollars on the higher end for typical consumers,

when the cost of bringing an individual lawsuit is so high, if Equifax and other financial

companies, other banks ... Think back to Wells Fargo and other folks who have perpetrated

wrongs on the American public ... if they're able to get rid of class actions, they're

able to essentially protect and insulate themselves from liability.

The moral of that story is, if you're going to screw somebody over, if you're going to

take, just do it a few hundred dollars at a time, so you don't have any recourse.

You can't afford to bring an individual suit and then they bar your right to a class action.

Now, I think the question that's on everybody's mind is, if your data was stolen, what should

you do?

What step you should take?

What should you do to make sure that you can protect yourself?

You certainly know that Equifax isn't doing it.

Right.

I think you can start ... One suggestion that's been made by many folks is that you put a

freeze on your credit.

This is something that can be done essentially to where, when someone's trying to access

it or use it to get access to a new account, or try to essentially steal your money or

use your name for some purpose, that it's not going to go through.

It's something that can be unfrozen.

For instance, if you needed to buy a house or get a new car loan, you could contact the

credit reporting agencies.

That's one thing that's been suggested is put a freeze on your credit, and that's going

to help protect you.

The other thing you can do is there's a possibility if you're harmed, if your information is stolen

and is used to actually ... an account is opened, a false account is opened, a hacker

uses your information or your data, you can look to either ... Class-action lawsuits are

a very, very important element of enforcing and holding companies like Equifax accountable,

and there's also the potential for a small claims lawsuit.

It could be an individual lawsuit in the right circumstance, but this is perhaps best suited

for the class action, where we can all band together.

My data, your data, almost half of America's data, has been compromised here, and if we

band together, we can help hold Equifax responsible.

I think the last thing I would say is pay attention to what's happening.

In Congress right now, the lobbyists have gotten this issue before the Senate regarding

the class action bar for banks and credit reporting agencies.

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau is saying you cannot have a class action waiver

anymore.

You can't use that; that's unfair.

Pay attention as these issues are in front of Congress.

Call your senator.

Call your congressman.

That's one of the best things you need to do, then, is follow up with your local congressman,

your local senator, and make sure that they know the impact this is having on Main Street

America.

Michael, thank you much for appearing today.

I appreciate it.

Please keep fighting the good fight.

Thank you.

5 Signs You Need a Prescription Acne Treatment - Duration: 11:00.

Acne is a skin condition that causes spots and pimples

especially on the face shoulders

Back neck chest and upper arms it is a most common skin condition in the United States

us

Affecting up to 50 million Americans yearly it commonly occurs during puberty when the sebaceous glands activate

But it can occur at any age

The glands produce oil and are stimulated by male hormones produced by the adrenal glands in both males and females

People often ignore these acne sign until the problem becomes severe it

Is important to be aware of these signs as addressing the problem early can save you from future complications?

how are you supposed to know when throwing money at drugstore face washes and

Expensive set creams aren't going to work anymore and ik time to see a professional

Here are the early signs you need a prescription acne treatment

1 nothing you've tried has worked

Most people think that breaking out is limited to the teenage years when everything seems to be soaked in humiliation

Sadly the truth is while the most prone people to get Impuls and acne are teens bad skin can haunt you through adulthood

Your acne may even be trying to tell you something important

You've likely spent a pretty penny investing in over-the-counter treatments for curing acne

Make sure you don't fall for any of these acne myths

Treatment shouldn't take more than four to six weeks to prove their magic so if you've been relying on OTC

Acne products for several months and your acne hasn't improved. It's time to seek out something stronger

prescription treatment comes in many different forms

including superficial chemical peels and light-based therapies

topical over-the-counter skin care products dietary modifications and counseling topical prescription

therapies and even oral prescription therapies

- you have severe acne

Before we continue this video do not forget to subscribe my channel to see if they're useful health videos

over-the-counter products are really best for treating or preventing minor breakouts

Severe acne is a whole different story and many dermatologists recommend OTC s in conjunction with prescription acne therapies

Severe acne is distinguished with greater amounts of inflammation

You will have Purple's or red bumps on the skin

Pustules the whiteheads, Duns little bumps across the skin's surface that aren't red and inflamed

Nodules inflamed lesions that feel like hard painful lumps under the skin or even cysts

Cystic acne is usually caused by hormonal imbalances, and it won't respond well to topical treatments

Here's where you can learn more about hormonal acne

hormonal acne usually shows up as painful cysts on the lower face chin jawline that flare right before your period

That type of acne is best treated with an oral medication cults are on lockdown

3 you're painfully

Self-conscious if someone is self-conscious as a result of their breakouts that alone is enough to justify treatment

Dermatologists won't critique your decision to seek help so make an appointment

Have you rolled out these possible causes for your breakouts it may not be as bad as others skin

But when even the little bit you have just won't quit. There is no shame in raising your hand for help

Some patients come to see me and with simple changes in stress management and diet their skin can turn a corner

So I firmly believe that you needn't wait until your skin is scarring or your acne is severe to make an appointment with your derm

For your skin is beginning to scar your acne may eventually fade

But the scars that come with it can be permanent and that's a sign that you should act quickly

If you're noticing the skin starting to divot or raise above the surface. It's time to schedule an appointment with your dermatologist

Because of acne scarring is usually the result of severely inflamed lesions

You'll want to begin using a prescription treatment immediately

Otherwise you may have to use heavy-duty lasers down the line to combat those facial scars

But while a treatment may be of necessity you don't plan to rely on it for too long

I'm not a big fan of relying on topical or oral

antibiotics for longer than three months I

find that longer use of antibiotics can lead the resistant organisms on the skin and

Even cause problems in the gut by affecting the healthy bacteria that live there

Five

you have acne on your back or chest as

If unsightly acne on the face isn't enough if it has spread to your chest back or both

It's time to put down the OTC s and pick up the phone ever wondered what the reat ologists notice about you

Sometimes body acne can be the simple result of not showering soon enough after excessive sweating

Try bathing a bit more often if your back and chest acne persist. It's time to seek prescription treatment

Controlling this type of acne is tough to do with topical creams you may need a combination of oral and topical prescription to treat it

Ten signs and symptoms of leukemia

Leukemia is cancer of the blood cells

blood cells and platelets are produced in the bone marrow in

Leukemia some new white blood cells

WBC's fail to mature properly these immature cells continue to reproduce at a rapid rate

crowding out healthy cells and producing a host of symptoms

Leukemia is the most common type of childhood cancer affecting about 4,000 children a year in the United States

People often ignore the warning signs of leukemia

Until the problem becomes severe it is important to be aware of these signs as addressing the problem early can save you from future complications

If you have multiple signs and symptoms of this health problem ask your doctor to check your health levels

Here are some warning signs that you may have a leukemia

One abnormal bruising while most people don't connect the two bruising is a blood related occurrence

platelets

Specifically which are produced in the bone marrow along with white and red blood cells are mostly responsibly for the clotting of blood

Which is what a bruise is only under the skin have a low platelet count or

Thrombocytopenia is often because if you notice unexplained bruises or the cuts are not healing as quickly as they should

the connection between

Low platelets and leukemia goes right back to their source and while one might not be indicative of the other if you notice irregular bruising

coupled with unexplained bleeding from the gums in your stool or urine or frequent nosebleeds

Then we recommend you go see a healthcare professional immediately

to fever and chills

The symptom of fever and chills is a common one with most infections or diseases of the body

Fever comes on when the body is trying to fight infection as warm environments tend to be less hospitable for infection to grow

Shells come on as the body's way of trying to stay warm when it is cold through the contraction and relaxation of muscles

Knowing that these two symptoms are often associated with other ailments poses problems for many and dark as it often

manifests as flu-like symptoms

If these symptoms persist for a week or two then it is advisable to make an appointment with your physician

three night sweats

Much like lymphoma and other types of cancers leukemia sufferers have an incredibly difficult time regulating body temperature

this often results in a back and forth between fever and cold chills and excessive sweating

Which usually presents itself at its worst during the night?

While some might be thinking how am I supposed to tell what I do when I sleep?

The signs are all too apparent in the morning for a person who suffers from night sweats will find their clothes and bed linens often

saturated with sweat

This symptom like many others on this list might not be a cause for concern in and of itself

But rather should be viewed in on a halt coupled with other one to give you a better idea as to what's going on

It is also important to remember that self diagnosis does little good, and if you feel there is an issue for concern

Please see your doctor

for Peter Chi

Cachi Kia are one tiny red dots appear on their skin when capillaries the smallest of the blood vessels burst or bleed out

The reasons for this are multiple, but usually it occurs due to excessive straining or pressure

Most people have experienced this symptom before as it can often result from excessive crying or uncontrollable vomiting

much like the previous point this symptom is often a son of

Thrombocytopenia or low platelets count which might be the son of an underlying blood disorder such as leukemia

5

abdominal discomfort

The human body in many cases is the sum of all its parts

When one part is hurt injured or infected it can often have an impact on other seemingly unconnected parts of the body?

Leukemia and this plane is an example of such an occurrence

The lymphatic system is a network of vessels

Tissues and organs through which the body rates itself of waste and toxins often from the blood

Knowing as we do that leukemia is a blood disorder. It makes sense that the system would be affected

In many cases of leukemia

The spleen can become swollen and distended causing discomfort in the abdomen as the organ presses on surround organs such as the stomach

This can also be a cause of appetite loss as well

13 Psychology Tricks That Work ON ANYBODY - Duration: 4:58.

13 Psychology Tricks That Work ON ANYBODY

It is true that every human being in the world is unique, but do you know that actually our

psychological behaviour will be similar if we are faced with certain circumstances?

Psychologists who have a keen eye for details keep discovering new behavioral patterns that

are believed to be rooted in our childhood and can be applied to everyone.

In this video, I'm going to share with you about some psychology tricks that really work

on anybody.

Like usual, if you find this information is helpful to you, make sure to like this video

and subscribe to this channel so you won't miss any interesting update in the future

guys!

Number 1.

To find out if a person likes you, pick a word and every time he or she uses this word

or synonymous word phrases, nod and smile.

If he or she does like you, watch him or her start using the word all the time.

Number 2.

Win everytime you do a 'Rock-paper-scissors' with your friend!

To win at the 'Rock-paper-scissors' game, right before playing it, ask your opponent

a random question.

Most of the time your confused friend will throw 'scissors.'

Number 3.

Do you want people to take your words seriously?

Every time you tell them something, say that your father taught you this.

People tend to believe parents' advice inherently.

Number 4.

If a certain song is stuck in your head and you would love to forget it, try to think

of the end of the song.

According to the Zeigarnik effect, our brain tends to remember the things that we've

left unfinished.

So if you think of the end of the annoying earworm, you will be able to get it out of

your head.

Number 5.

If you want people to agree with you, just nod and maintain eyecontact while you're

talking.

'The nod' sign means 'everything I'm saying is true.'

Plus, following social behavior patterns, people tend to nod back.

Number 6.

Have you ever wished the subway wasn't that crowded in the morning?

In crowded places look right in front of you, in the direction in which you're going.

You will be impressed watching the crowd literally give way to you.

This trick is very easy to explain: in crowded places we tend to look other people in the

eyes so that we know which direction someone is going.

We take the opposite way so not to run into each other.

Number 7.

Your friend will most likely help you carry, let's say, a box of your stuff if you continue

talking while handing over the box.

The majority of people won't even notice you're handing them something and will take

it.

However, some people more attentive and less close to you may get pretty confused.

Number 8.

Want your kids to eat broccoli?

Go ahead and ask them if they want two or five stalks of broccoli instead of asking

them if they want broccoli.

Thus, you've made your mind and chose broccoli for their lunch, but they feel like they have

really made their own decision.

You can use the same old trick in different situations.

Number 9.

If you have the feeling that someone is watching you, just yawn and look around.

If someone is really stalking you, they will yawn too, since yawning is highly contagious.

Number 10.

If you know you're going to shake hands with someone, make sure your hands are warm

enough.

Warm hands promote a friendly atmosphere while cold handshaking will trigger the opposite

effect.

Number 11.

If you want someone to help you, start your phrase with the words, 'I need your help...',

People hate feeling guilty and that's why they won't be able to refuse to help.

Number 12.

Whatever your friend has just said, paraphrase it and say it again.

The person who talks to you will subconsciously get the feeling you are a really great listener.

Just don't go too far with the paraphrasing thing.

Number 13.

If you believe a person doesn't like you, ask if you can borrow his pencil or pen.

On one hand, people tend not to help those whom they don't like, but on the other hand,

it's such a small favor that your 'hater' most likely won't be able to say 'No'.

Eventually he will come to the conclusion that you're not that bad.

Well, that's the 13 psychology tricks that work on anybody.

Really cool tricks isn't it.

Hopefully these tricks will positively affect your communication skills and make your life

easier in some way.

URBAN LANDSCAPE photography - Duration: 13:14.

good morning everyone back in Dallas again this morning I am here to do an

exterior shot Museum is back over there and we're going into a building up here

if this weather will hold out it's awfully cloudy

I have to say the parking

situation downtown could be much improved

and less expensive

that ended up going really well it is overcast out here but it's not

completely overcast and I actually think this ended up working pretty well I was

convinced we were gonna have to come back out a second time and reshoot but

we got it of course that's up to the client

so I'm obsessed with the idea of lunch here so got a kill a little time first

but since we have a minute to kill I'll show you where we are this is actually a park

that is built over a freeway when I was a kid growing up for years we referred to

this as the canyon because it all just went underground well they built a park

up at the top and it's surrounded by the Arts District on one side on the other

side you have hipster expensive apartments there's like two restaurants

in here that are excellent lots of mirrors here's the museum I worked in

for seven years is it just me or do these two sculptures look like bird sh…

whole slew of food trucks and some more food trucks that's the opera hall and

behind that is where I went to high school you can sort of see the Symphony

Center back there this new building whatever that is is now in the way

sculpture center Asian Art Museum

Oh tough choice here or there

we're going to the Phoenix

enchiladas check

time to head back to the fort you know

in the last vlog a lot

of you complained about the highway footage and yeah it's a long drive

between Dallas and Ft Worth but just for you guys we're gonna cut to the chase I

won't do highway footage today mainly because I forgot the dashcam I need to

work on that - I need to like pimp this car out so like when it gets a little cooler

we'll find a cooler set up for this but anyway let's go ahead and head back to

Fort Worth right now

no… wait

oh, not yet

there we go so let's go in and see what we got

oh these guys

I'm a construction magnate

like seriously it follows me everywhere

okay so essentially this is an urban landscape so my plan here was to end up

with a composite image that had the maximum depth resolution that I could

possibly crank out of this and so what I did was a series of images that are

stitched together in Lightroom at the end and I'll show you how to do that in

a second the lens I chose for this is the Zeiss Loxia this is the f/2 35mm

it is a Sony mount it is incredible and so essentially what I do

is go through and just do a series of three or six images that are just side

by side that are going to be stitched together in the end now the key to this

is making sure that your exposure is identical on every one of these images

so what you want to do if you want to do this is go through and find the

brightest spot in your image and sometimes with landscapes you've got the

Sun in there you've got to find that and you've got to expose for that and then

that's the exposure you're going to use throughout and I'll explain how we get

into this in Lightroom next thing you're gonna want to do I'm going to show you

how to do this in Lightroom is you're gonna want to actually apply any lens

correction profiles that Lightroom offers if that's a possibility there are

some cameras like Panasonic and Fuji for instance that do it internally in-camera

and that's fine you can just use them straight off the camera but if you're

using something else like Canon Nikon Sony what you want to do is go in and

manually select those lens profiles and what that will do is it'll help you with

them in the vignetting and any distortions that you have and it'll make it easier for

the algorithm to stitch those together okay so we're in Lightroom now and I

want to make a couple points about this image first of all as I said before this

is not the client image and the reason I'm telling you that actually there are

two reasons that it will get to but first of all this is shot the opposite

direction from the landscape that I was actually shooting for the client they

asked me what my preference of time of the day was and it was kind of a favor

that was called into a business that has two floors in this high-rise on the

other side and I said well we want to shoot it in the morning knowing where

the sunrises and knowing where the building is and they said fine and so before I left

I did a couple shots so I could use the same technique to illustrate to you guys

in this video but it is shot in the opposite direction I was in a hurry and

it was overexposed and you can tell because if you look in the sky here

you're seeing some blown highlights so I didn't have time to bracket this at this

point because the priority unfortunately was not doing this video it was doing

the job for the client but I want to show you at least the process but the

point I want to make though is that even though this was overexposed

a lot of it was recoverable because of the settings that I chose to use so you

can see what I used over here this is actually the final stitched panorama it

makes a dmg file and this was one sixtieth of a second at f/8 at ISO 100

and the Sun is right here over the Chase building so but you could still see even

though that it was somewhat backlit I was still able to recover a lot in this

image and that is a key because there are two things that you have control

over when you're shooting basically an urban landscape or any kind of landscape

for that matter the first one is ISO and ISO as most of you guys probably know is

a metaphor in the digital world for what we dealt with in film sensitivity and so

typically if you're gonna get the most detail the most information out of the

image that you possibly can you want to shoot at the cameras base ISO now that

may be very conservative by today's standards because cameras are really

good with higher gain settings or higher ISO settings but anyway I shoot at the

base ISO and the other thing is I definitely wanted the lens at f/8 that

it's just it looks really good at f/8 everything's sharp you could shoot at

f/16 this lens doesn't have the aberration problems that some lenses do

but anyway f/8 was my choice so the shutter speed is all I'm left to deal

with and we're shooting into the Sun and if this were the shot that I were trying

to get this is not the time of the day that I would have tried to get it which

was in the morning so anyway with that being said though this is the final

stitched image and you can see that there's a lot of detail even if i zoom

in you can tell it retains a lot of detail and I wouldn't have chosen this

time of day like I said to shoot this particular image this is the opposite

way the way I was shooting but anyway just to tell you how I did this so this

is basically a stitched panorama based on six images that I took and so if you

go look at the original images here they are so real exciting here but you can

definitely tell that I'm slightly overexposed with that sky blowing out

but when you do these you want to create enough of an overlap so that Lightroom

or Photoshop or however you're stitching these the algorithm can tell what's

trying to be stitched together and so it needs information that is similar in

each image so if that makes sense so they need to overlap slightly is my

point if they definitely don't overlap it can't invent it the image that's not

there so you're gonna have a problem so what you basically do to do this is you

select all six images and you do control+m

and it's going to bring up a panorama

merge preview now there are three choices you have here in algorithms and

they are spherical cylindrical and perspective and these are based on how

the image is mapped out and so it could be very different if you're using a

drone to go in a spherical pattern anyway so you want to choose the correct

one the correct one in this case because I'm simply just like hand holding this

and just moving the camera over is going to be perspective of course if you click

on any one of these you can see a preview so you can always experiment

with it from there and then what you want to do is just click merge and I've

already done - I'll say cancel and it will give you a DNG composite of those merged

six images so what you end up with is very much a higher resolution image than

your camera and of course I'm using the sony a7s on this and so that's kind of

part of my thinking on this if I had a higher megapixel camera the original a7s

is only 12 megapixels you know feel free to go wild but in my case I have

a lower megapixel count and I want a really high megapixel image in the end

and so I could have gotten even higher than this there are different ways you

could go about it but I really love this whole concept of working with composited images

so that is essentially my approach to landscape photography I am a

big fan of stitching in this instance because what I want to do is be able to

retain the maximum amount of detail that I possibly can out of a single image

even though it's six all stitched together but it is a cool technique and

if you want to try it yourself remember it is really important to get things

right in the camera before you do the stitching in post and when you're kind

of going around you want to find the brightest area of the image and make

sure that you retain those highlights and I know this was kind of a weird

example because I was doing something for a client and so that's where my

attention was and then I wanted to have something to share with you guys so I

kind of flipped around the opposite direction which was not ideal and I

didn't get the time to bracket it appropriately but you get my point the

main things that you want to remember to have your camera at the base ISO that

is really important because any gain that you start to introduce will start

to degrade the image quality somewhat of course in the modern age this is a

little different than it was 10 years ago the other thing you want to remember

is to have your aperture set at f/8 this will avoid any

kind of aberration distortion and it's also not too shallow so you won't have

any depth of field issues okay so one other thing that I want to mention is I

am NOT Joe Landscape and don't claim to be and I want to recommend you two

channels on YouTube that definitely are although I wouldn't call them Joe

Landscape the first I want to mention is somebody that I've known online for

years his name is Ben Horne he has an amazing channel he does

behind-the-scenes and vlogs he shoots film shoots eight-by-ten if you've never

seen an eight-by-ten negative or positive you are missing out I've only

kept to Ben's channel in the show description make sure you check that out

another gentleman I would highly recommend is Thomas Heaton and if you

haven't seen Thomas he does a lot of vlogging a lot of behind the scenes on

how he's getting the shot and he goes to some really amazing locations both those

gentlemen are awesome check them out I will see you guys on Monday we have

photo assignments and this week is going to be really good so until then I'll

catch you Monday later
