What will happen if all the oxygen disappears from the earth, for just five seconds?

It's just five seconds! you might think.

You can hold your breath for about 15-17 seconds, on an average underwater, so what difference

will five seconds make?

You can survive it?

Right?

Oxygen is one of the basic necessities, without which, a substantial percentage of life, on

Earth, couldn't survive.

But, oxygen has a lot of major responsibilities, than just taking care of our breathing requirements.

Here's what you can look forward to, when oxygen is in absentia from this planet, for

just five seconds.

We all lather up with sunscreen, on the beach.

Yet, some amount of sunburn is expected.

But, if there were no oxygen, sunbathers, would end up with some serious tanning.

Ozone is molecular oxygen, and blocks the majority of UV light.

Without it, we are toast.

The daytime sky, would suddenly get a lot darker.

With fewer particles in the atmosphere, to scatter blue light, the sky would get a bit

less blue, and a bit more black.

Every machine, using an internal combustion engine, would suffer, as every internal combustion

engine would stall.

This means, every airplane taking off from a runway, would likely crash to the ground.

The planes in flight, could glide for some time.

Millions of people, all over the world, would be in grave danger.

All pieces of untreated metal, would instantly spot weld, to each other.

This is, one of the more interesting side effects.

The reason metals don't weld on contact is, they are coated in a layer of oxidation.

In vacuum conditions, metal welds, without any intermediate liquid phase.

Now, this is universal.

Everyone's inner ear would explode.

We would lose about 21% of the air pressure, in an instant.

This is a lot of stress on your delicate hearing faculties.

Every building, made out of concrete, would turn to dust.

Oxygen is an important binder in concrete structures, in the form of CO2, and without

it, the compounds do not hold their rigidity.

Imagine, the scale of mass destruction!

Every living cell, would explode in a haze of hydrogen gas.

Water is 88.8% oxygen; without it, the hydrogen turns into gaseous state, and expands in volume.

Not only that, the oceans would evaporate, and bleed into space.

Hydrogen gas, being the lightest, will rise to the upper troposphere, and slowly bleed

into space, through Atmospheric escape.

If oceans disappear, so will the vast life, it contains within.

Everything above ground, would immediately go into free fall.

As oxygen makes up about 45% of the Earth's crust and mantle, there is suddenly, a lot

less "stuff" beneath your feet, to hold everything up.

In conclusion, it would pretty much be an apocalypse situation.

Thus, hold dear the oxygen, we have, in a sea of pollutants, and earnestly try and care

for the dear trees, that keep it so.

Diversity of Groups Isn't Enough: We Need Diverse Experiences to Problem Solve | Beau Lotto - Duration: 4:28.

If the process of seeing differently is the process of first and foremost having awareness

of the fact that everything you do has an assumption, figuring out what those are—and

by the way, the best person to reveal your own assumptions to you is not yourself, it's

usually someone else, hence the power of diversity, the importance of diversity.

Because not only does that diversity reveal your own assumptions to you, but it can also

complex-ify your assumptions.

Because we know from complex systems theory that the best solution is most likely to exist

within a complex search space, not a simple search space, simply because of statistics.

So whereas a simple search space is more adaptable, it's more easy to adapt, it's less likely

to contain the best solution.

So what we really want is a diversity of possibilities, a diversity of assumptions—which diverse

groups, for instance, enable.

But also diverse experience.

So one of the best ways to diversify, complex-ify your search space, your assumptions, is through

experience.

And one of the great ways to do that is actually through technology.

So we think about technology, and most of our technologies are good technologies.

But what defines a great technology?

What is a transformative technology?

The good technologies are the ones that enable us to do what we can already do faster, easier,

more efficiently.

And that's because so much of our society focuses on efficiency.

It's about maximizing performance.

We're great engineers but we're crap philosophers.

We're very good at making things more efficient, but that's only one side of innovation. We

also need the other side of innovation, which is creativity.

And so the best technologies are the ones—in my view—that make the invisible visible.

They enable us to see things that we could never have seen before.

They create assumptions.

They expand our space of assumptions.

We typically think, of course, of digital technologies, but we can also think of the

telescope, the microscope.

In fact we can even think of the sail.

So the sail was in one sense invented on the Nile, because the currents the wind go in

opposite directions.

So you could sail up current and then you could float back down.

But what the sail enables us to do was to travel, which meant we could see different

ecologies, different cultures.

Which, when approached in an open way, enabled us to not only challenge but expand our assumptions,

because we would have incorporated their biases into our own.

So you could view it in a different way.

The best transformative technologies enable us to travel.

But not just travel physically.

Travel in our minds.

So a book, writing, this also leads onto things like augmented reality and even virtual reality.

So in our case we've actually done experiments and created a whole platform in augmented

reality to see if we can explore how the brain makes meaning by engaging with a new layer

in the world.

Not to replace the real world but to expand it.

Another example is the feelSpace belt.

So what this was was a belt that was, in fact, a belt, right.

It went around your waist, and effectively what it did is it vibrated in the direction

of north, which effectively gave people the ability to see what they couldn't see before.

They made the invisible visible.

And what happened is that people would consciously make reference—well initially they just

felt a vibration—and then they started incorporating it into their movement and into their navigation

consciously. But eventually it became unconscious to the point that when they actually removed

the belt they felt insecure.

So effectively they were almost turning people into birds, who are able to detect magnetic

north in their migrations.

And the brain was able to adapt and redefine normality based on this new information that

it was getting.

But not just the data, the meaning of the data by physically engaging with the world.

Because only in that sense did it come to literally make sense.

3ds Max Spline Tools - Motion Graphics - Duration: 12:36.

In this tutorial, you put together a small project where you create a new and animated 3ds Max logo, very unofficially of course.

The idea is to create a creeping, vine-like deforming object that animates into the number 3 of the max logo.

This exercise makes use of the new and improved Path Deform modifier, which was introduced along with other spline tools in 3ds Max 2018.2

If you haven't worked with Spline Tools before, be sure to watch the appropriate lessons on this channel to get a better understanding of what they can do.

To begin with this project, open the scene named logo_start.max

It is a simple scene with very few objects that have been organized in layers.

There are a couple of lights hidden from view that you won't need to adjust,

and a few cameras that have been animated over time with the help of the Move tool.

These are simple 3ds Max techniques that you should be familiar with.

Currently, a placeholder #3 is used for framing shots, but you want to ultimately replace it by your own logo.

First, try to render the Perspective view to get a feel for the scene.

The rendering is set to the ART Renderer and is currently somewhat dark.

This is mainly because the material in the scene is reflective but currently has only a black background to reflect.

A different background will have a great influence on the render.

The best backgrounds for reflections come from spherical panoramas and a good resource for those is hdrlabs

There you can choose and download a background that you like. For this lesson, I will use Ridgecrest Road.

The best backgrounds are made of HDR images but for this lesson, I'll simply use the JPG format included in the downloaded archive.

When you add this image to the Material Editor,

you can then call up the Environment dialog,

and drag the image as a Background Map.

This automatically sets the image as a Spherical Environment, and a render at this time would look quite different.

You could also set the background to display in the viewport by pressing Alt+B and choosing the Use Environment Background option.

If the image appears too fuzzy in the viewport, consider increasing the texture resolution in the Viewport Configuration dialog.

Be aware that this is tightly related to the capabilities of your graphics card.

Camera #3 represents the end of the animation, so use that as a reference to adjust the background.

In this case, you can play with the bitmap's U-offset value to center the road to the logo by the end of the animation.

Of course, and as mentioned earlier, the idea is to replace the current geometry with something animated and more complex, like a growing plant.

Start by hiding the current placeholder.

To build a more inspired replacement, you need a bit of creativity, even though the most sophisticated objects start with simple geometry.

This applies here as well, as you will start with a simple Plane object, which you create in the Front view.

Make it about 50x50 in size, with about 40x40 divisions.

In fact, this level of detail is hardly sufficient for the effect you're after, so go ahead and add a TurboSmooth modifier to the stack.

Set the Iterations to 3, keeping in mind that you'll probably need to increase the level of detail even further for the final result.

Next you need to change the shape of this flat plane to display random spikes. You will do so with the help of a Displace modifier.

Add a Displace Modifier to the stack. It won't have much of an effect just yet, you need a source to define displacement data.

You will provide that source using a Gradient Ramp. In the Material Editor, add a Gradient Ramp Map.

Set the type to Radial,

note the black color concentration in the center of the circle. This will focus the displacement to the center of the plane object.

Adjust the Noise values for a more irregular pattern. Set the Noise type to Fractal and adjust the Amount and Size values.

Apply the newly created map to the Displace modifier as an Instance.

Adjusting the Displacement Strength now certainly seems to make a difference.

Set the Strength amount to -50, but adjust the Luminance Center to a value of 1, so that the displacement happens towards the front of the scene.

Next you need to shape the object a little differently, a little organically so that it doesn't look like a pyramid.

Add an FFD(box) modifier in 2x2x7 Control Points mode.

Adjust these Control Points so that the object is more streamlined.

As I look at it from the top view, it looks a bit like a spinning top. This will work fine.

Next is where the magic happens, you need to animate the object to sweep along the spline representing the number 3.

Add a Path Deform modifier to the stack. This modifier has been greatly improved in 3ds Max 2018.2.

Click the None button in the Modify panel so that you can select the path in the viewport.

This relocates the geometry to the spline, and you now can adjust the flow in a variety of ways.

Here, you want to animate the flow to sweep along the spline, between the beginning and the end of the animation.

Actually, you want to reach the end of the path slightly before the end of the animation so that we have a second or two to look at the end result.

With Auto Key enabled, animate the Stretch value to range from 0 to 6.4 between frames 0 and 160.

6.4 represents the end of the path, as seen on the Auto label.

This is fine but we need more: we need the object to twist as it flows along the path, and ultimately, we may need some scale adjustments as well.

The twist is easy enough to implement as there is a ready parameter to that effect. Experiment a bit.

A value between 700 and 1100 should work fine.

Scaling is different: the main problem we have here is at the beginning of the animation, particularly the first ten frames or so.

The sweeping logo should start as a point, increasing in size as in sweeps through.

Exit Auto Key mode if it is still enabled.

To achieve the scale effect, you can use a function of the Path Deform modifier called Driven Scale.

There is also a Driven Rotation function available that you could have used to create a more elaborate twist effect.

For our purposes, the twist we introduced earlier is enough, so we'll concentrate of Driven Scale instead.

Scrub the animation. By the time you reach frame 60, the scale of the animated object is fine but it needs to be much smaller prior to that.

Enable Driven Scale. In its simplest form, you could adjust or animate the Scale value to range from 0 to 1 over time.

But you can do much more, you can edit the scaling so that it affects the beginning and the end of the sweep differently.

Go to Frame 160 and open the Scale Curve dialog by clicking the Open Scale Curve Editor button.

The vertical line represents the scaling factor, while the horizontal line represents the length of the path.

At this stage, two control points at the beginning and at the end of the path ensure that the scaling is set to 1 as originally planned.

Note what happens when you set the first control point to a value of 0.

Now the object is much narrower at the beginning and grows bigger in cross-section towards the end.

That's not exactly the effect you're looking for, you only want it narrower at the beginning of the path.

Use the Add Point option to add a control point to the curve, but switch to Move mode immediately after.

If you don't, you'll find yourself adding more point with every click of the mouse.

Move the new control point about and see the effect it has on the deformed object.

Experiment a bit but ultimately, set a scale value to 1 and a path value to 0.2 or 20%.

This means that when the object reaches 20% of the path length, its scale is normal or equal to 1.

Prior to that, it shifts from 0 to 1 between the beginning and 20% of path traveled.

You can smooth the scale curve for a softer transition by selecting control points and enabling their Bezier handles with a right-click.

As you can see, this can be a powerful tool to reshape the object. Continue experimenting and close the Curve Editor when done.

When you're ready to render, you will probably need another TurboSmooth at the top of the stack

This will make the object quite heavy with millions of polygons but you will need that because of the nature of the object and the deformation it needs.

Finally, apply a reflective material to the object,

and do a few test renders of the scene.

When you are ready, render the various camera shots to disk or you can view the sample animation you downloaded for this tutorial.

A final version of the scene has also been provided to you.

You Might Be Able To Unlearn Narcissism. Here's How - Duration: 10:08.

Hi, there welcome to Conscious reminder channel

Please subscribe to our channel for more updates

Topic today is

You might be able to and learn Narcissism. Here's how into the scene

Party and you see a sea of faces most of them with beaming smiles

But instead of a surge of curiosity you feel an overwhelming sense of pressure

Then you imagine are they thinking about me?

Am I pretty enough?

Are they looking at someone more beautiful than me?

Here more desirable please look at me

Look at me

Now you know what it's like to think like a narcissist

I do too

Because that person used to be me

Something along the lines of she's beautiful

I want to get to know this person

Hope my hair doesn't mess up

But then again most people don't have an enormous hole where their self-worth should be

has to

the making of a nurse

Narcissists are usually talented and attractive people who skipped over one small detail in their formation that life is about serving others

Of knowing that our actions create value for others is what fills us with Self-worth

Those who give freely have the most to give?

narcissists on the other hand feel the need to constantly take

They think their self-worth is a result of what others give them

Narcissist I grew up thinking that what I had to offer wasn't good enough

So when I was called handsome or intelligent I clung to those compliments as life preservers

perpetuate that image

sexual relationships to feel validated

Instead of finding my worth and joy and the things I give to others. I was entirely dependent on the praise of my natural Endowments

I was powerless jumping from one relationship to the next sucking up as much pleasure as I could in bailing when things got Rocky

Each relationship with less confidence and sanity than I had to begin with the cycle drove me nuts

My third live-in relationship I seriously considered whether life was worth living

That's what I knew. I needed a serious change

unmaking of a narcissist

from famous speakers like Zig ziglar that happiness lies in the giving

You'll get what you want. If you just help enough other people get what they want. He said

Lucky enough to have been exposed to zigs messages when I was at Rock bottom living with my parents jobless and broken

Otherwise I don't know if I would have made it as it was I took zigs messages to hurt

A complete 180 was my only option so I started helping others through the written word

But in order to stick with a whole living for others bit

I had to unlearn the selfish habits that had made me behave like a narcissist

Started with giving up porn porn had always been my biggest crutch

Whenever I was bored anxious nervous or unsure. I turned to porn

I mean release was like crack which distracted me from any uncomfortable feelings. I had

But there was one hitch in all of that, self-pleasure

I never actually learned the thing about myself, and I sure as hell didn't think about making life better for others

Had to go

Next thing I knew a team

My friends and family had described me as a hopeless romantic because I was never happy out of love

As long as I was in a relationship, I didn't have to shoulder the responsibility of fulfilling myself

I didn't have to think about how I was making life better for others

If I was giving my girlfriend wild sex and if the relationship was entertaining

I could lose myself till it ended. Which it always did

And when I did I focused on getting into another one so that I didn't have to be lonely so that I could lose myself

Giving wasn't part of the equation, so I had to let the casual relationships go

Finally I gave up dependency

Your life heads in the direction of your thoughts

When my habitual thoughts were about others serving me like my mom and dad cooking cleaning and providing shelter for me

It was impossible to break out of my selfish patterns

As I cured myself of narcissism as I helped others through my writing and as I grew my profession

I started thinking more about providing for myself

And then one day, I made the leap

think about myself to survive

I worked hard and improved as a writer so that I could eat, but the motivation wasn't just for me

I wanted to eat so that I could write and I wanted to write so that I could help others improve their lives

The better I got at providing for myself the more valuable my messages became

After one full year of living solo are left narcissism in the mirror

These three habits helped me transform

one

Journalling was instrumental in my transformation didn't notice my thought patterns until I wrote them down day after day

When I started journaling, I could finally see those selfish thoughts and behaviors plain as day

I replaced the old thoughts and habits with better ones, too

Planning out each day was another important step

If I didn't plan on being a better me after my journaling sessions. I wouldn't have gotten very far

So I made concrete action steps that would make me a more confident generous

selfless and useful person day after day

For instance through journaling, I'd noticed that I felt hopelessly dependent on others opinions of me when I spent too much time on Facebook

So the next day I'd plan to not use Facebook at all opting for a self-improvement activity like reading or writing

three

affirmations were the third critical step in and learning my narcissistic tendencies

People who describe themselves as narcissists have an unedited mind that keeps spewing selfish and disempowering thoughts

Yech

When you hear a lie once, just a lie

But when it's repeated or over and over and over you'll believe just about anything no matter how insane it is

I believed I was worth nothing because that's what I kept telling myself

When I began making affirmations, I thought I was repeating lies

I am beautiful. I am worthy I am generous. I am capable I am independent

bullshit I thought

But as I stuck with the habit I started believing in them

Then I started acting like I believed them

was them

I realized I'd actually been those good things all along

It's just that my mind was so programmed with junk that I couldn't see the truth before

We are all good even those of us who behave narcissistically like I did

if you find yourself in a relationship with someone who behaves

narcissistically even if that person is you it's best to go solo and to focus on thinking and behaving like the intelligent and

inspiring person you were born to be

Formations journaling and daily Planners helped me make the change

So did giving a porn casual relationships and being dependent?

you

New 2017 Nuna Pipa Lite Vs. Nuna Pipa | Infant Car Seat Comparison - Duration: 9:37.

Let's face it, we all know and love the Nuna Pipa but what's different about the brand

new Pipa Lite?

So we're going to go over all the features of these two car seats to see which one is

the right fit for your family.

Now first we're going to start with the features that they had to take out of the Pipa Lite

to get it so light.

Now this is basically a lighter version of the Nuna Pipa so the classic Nuna Pipa weighs

in at 7.9 lbs and the Pipa Lite weighs in at 5.3lbs.

It is a significant weight cut.

Now that doesn't include the canopy or the inserts, but still that's a super light car

seat and it even makes the Pipa Lite the lightest one on the market.

Now the biggest difference, or biggest feature that they took out of the light is the belt

route.

So you have the belt route here and the European belt route around the back.

And that's to install your car seat without the base.

So it is a convenience feature.

Now they took that out of the Lite, as you can see its not here or on the back because

that did add a lot of weight to the seat.

Now that means you can only install the Lite with a base.

So it's not ideal for city dwellers if you're going in taxi's a lot this isn't the car seat

for you but it is awesome if you are just planning on installing with the base anyway.

Now it also means that its not FAA approved which means you can't install it on an aircraft.

That one really isn't a con for me and probably most people because if they are in an infant

seat, they are still free to fly, you don't have to install it anyway, you just have to

check that car seat in instead.

Now they also had to take out something with the crotch buckle and harness adjuster.

So as you can see with this one there are two different crotch buckle positions to give

them a little bit more room as they grow.

Also with the harness adjuster the button is exposed so it makes it really easy to adjust.

Now that had a little bit of weight to it so they took it out on the Lite.

So the crotch buckle only has one slot, one location so that it's not going to adjust

and then also to adjust your harness you have to slip your finger into this slot to adjust

that strap.

It's really not too bad but it's pretty easy to find but it's not exposed like it was on

the original Pipa.

Now the last feature they took out of the Pipa Lite is the dream drape.

Now if you're not familiar with the classic Pipa it does have this extra fabric tucked

up in the canopy and you'll attach that to the front of the seat to give your baby extra

protection and reduce your need for an extra car seat canopy.

Now you're not going to get that in the Lite.

Now you do have a flip out visor and it's still a very generous canopy compared to others

on the market but you don't have the full dream drape.

Now both of them do have a SPF of 50 so they're still being protected by the sun.

Now also on the back of the classic Pipa you do have this little peek-a-boo window and

that as well is not on the Lite.

Now if this video doesn't address all your questions please let us know by commenting

below or sending us an email at hello@babycubby.com we are more than happy to answer questions

that we don't address here.

Now one of the biggest things or questions that we get with the Pipa Lite is, well is

it safe now because its so light?

Now they did change up a little bit of their safety features which I'm super happy about

and I might even lean a little bit more toward the Lite because of that feature.

Now the old Pipa uses EPS foam.

Now if you're not familiar EPS foam is a dense foam that's designed to actually break or

crumble in the event of a car accident absorbing that energy.

Now they do have, and it's kinda hard to see, they do have panels up here by the head of

that EPS foam.

Now they are smaller panels.

Now the upgrade they made with the Lite is using EPP foam.

Now the difference is EPP foam is again a dense foam but it's designed to compress and

bounce back when it's hit or in the event of a car accident, which is a more efficient

protection, but what they did which is a first in the industry or at least that I've seen

is what they've done is integrated it into the frame.

So these are fussed together but then they also offered more foam throughout the entire

lining of this seat.

And what that does is offer extra flexibility so that it's absorbing those crash forces

and diverting them away from your child.

So I absolutely love that safety feature.

Now one great feature of both seats is they are super compatible with many different stroller

brands including obviously Nuna, Uppababy, Bugaboo.

So they are going to be compatible with the exact same strollers using the exact same

adapters.

Now one improvement that they did make is to release it from most strollers you're going

to use these triggers right here pushing down on both of these at the same time.

That has always been something that's a little bit difficult for me and most parents.

Now with the Pipa Lite they changed it up a bit making it really easy as you can hear.

It's going to release that a lot easier and it's easier to tell if it's actually disconnected

so they actually improved that connectivity with those adapters in the Pipa Lite.

So another difference between the two seats is actually in the handle bar.

So they're both made out of aluminum but they did make the Lite a little bit thinner to

bring down that weight.

It also has this nice leatherette accessory handle bar so it's just a little bit nicer.

On the classic one it's going to be rubber, however that is offered in one of their limited

addition styles.

Now another difference is actually in the fabric.

So on your classic Pipa you have the nice polyester knit fabrics, they are soft, they're

beautiful, we love them but they did make an upgrade on the Lite where they used absolutely

no flame retardants in the fabric so they didn't have to add any chemicals so chemicals

are away from your baby which we love.

They are also a nice knit fabric they're very beautiful, super soft.

Ok another improvement that they made is actually in the infant inserts.

So on the Lite you actually get two separate inserts.

One is an infant support pillow including an infant wedge that will come out as your

baby grows but then a separate head piece.

The nice thing with that is you can kind of customize to fit your baby.

You might have a wider baby with a small head or you might have a really big head baby and

you can take this out sooner.

This is also memory foam for added comfort and energy absorption so that's really nice.

On the classic it's still nice, you do have that infant insert, but it is all one piece.

So it's all one piece you have to take it all out at the same time, you do still have

your wedge for little tiny infants, but it's all one piece so its not quite as customizable.

Now one little thing that they did add on the Lite is these little harness pockets,

now that's to hold your harness out of the way as you're putting your child in so you

don't loose those buckles underneath their bum.

You're not going to get that on the classic.

Now whats included in the two seats.

In the classic Pipa you're going to get your latch guides.

Now these are for easy installation in getting those latches into those lower anchors, you're

also going to get your base.

Which makes for super solid easy installation now this is one of the things that makes this

seat so safe.

You have your rigid latch and then you also have your load leg.

Both of these features make it a super safe installation and also easy.

Now with the Lite you're still going to get those latch guides.

You're also going to get that base, that super safe installation it's the exact same base

so those are interchangeable but then they added additional inserts.

Now these are GOTS certified organic cotton.

The nice thing about this is it's great for blowouts.

You have a blow out you can put in new inserts while your washing your original inserts.

Or if you prefer the organic cotton by your baby you can use these from the start.

Both colors of the Lite are going to have the same color inserts.

So you do get a little bit more for your money with the Lite.

Now the Pipa Lite is available in two colors.

So you can get the grey or Fog, which is this one or you can a black version which is Ebony,

and that retails for $349.

Now the original Pipa is available in 6 colors including a limited version which has that

leatherette handlebar and some other nice upgraded fabrics, these are going to retail

for $299 or for the limited edition $349.

Now you can purchase both of these seats or either one you probably don't need both..

but you can do that... (blooper beep) Now you can purchase either of these seats in

store or online at www.babycubby.com where we do price match and everything ships for

free.
