All of this so that I could sing with Richie Kotzen on his Sydney's concert on Aug 25th 2017

Well, my saga starts now

Will it work? Will I share the stage with Richie?

After I asked everybody to post on his Instagram, all the posts have been deleted

Not sure if he's pissed off or if he was just cleaning up

So at least I know that he saw it, which is a good start

He obviously couldn't be bothered to get in touch

Today is Thursday, now it's about 7pm and the concert is tomorrow night

So I'll now I'll start preparing the posters I want to take to the concert tomorrow

Will get as early as possible there, posters in my hands, get a good spot in the queue

And hold the posters up close to him

I'll try till the very end! Let's do this, time to write some posters

Write the hashtag, add some nice words and let's see what's gonna happen

It's almost 10pm now and I've prepared 4 posters, all of them with the hashtag on the top

I'm apologizing in a few of the posters, because I know he removed the Instagram posts

Not sure if it was really him or whoever manages his Instagram account, but anyway

I'm apologizing just in case

Well, that's it, it's 3:30pm on Friday and the concert starts in another 6 hours or so

I'm leaving work early, got my folder with the posters and the concert ticket

And I want to get there early enough to be the first in line

And, as soon as the gates open, run and get a spot in the front row

And hold these posters in his face

Until he gets so annoyed that he decides to bring me to stage just to get rid of me! :)

That's the plan

Never imagined I would get access so easily

I'm here, Richie Kotzen is there

I'll just wait for soundcheck to finish and will go there and talk to him

I won't go there now because they're working, doing soundcheck, getting everything set up for tonight

And there's nothing worse for a musician than being annoyed by strangers during soundcheck

But once they're finished I'll definitely go there

Well, my stay inside the precinct lasted more than I had expected, but I've finally been kicked out

One of the producers came to me and asked me who I was

I said I was just a fan who got here super early, saw it all open and went in to watch the soundcheck

And then he apologized, was super nice, but asked me to leave

He said that, contractually, only members of the band's crew were allowed inside during soundcheck

And it was his responsibility to make sure this was observed

So he politely kicked me out

And now I'm outside, but at least I'm the first in line, let's see...

And the show begins!

The excellent "End of Earth", from the album "Salting Earth", released in April, was the opening song

The moment Richie recognizes me...

...and talks to the bassist, probably something along the lines of "Damn, the bloody hashtag dude is here..." :)

"High", from the album "Change" (2003), is "mandatory" every concert

The song chosen for the encore was "You Can't Save Me", which is the one I had asked to sing

I had lost all hope already, until this...

And that was it: just a few lines, I didn't get on stage... but it was AWESOME nonetheless!!!

Being the fan I am, especially as a musician, all the effort was worthwhile

And I'll cherish the memories and the videos of this achievement forever

You didn't have to, but you did it anyway, which shows how much of a nice and grounded guy you are
