11 Ways To Successfully Flirt, According To Science

For those who have ever feared they are too awkward to flirt, I have the best news ever,

flirting can be learned, and you can learn to do it effectively at that.

There are several scientifically proven ways to successfully flirt, and none of them are

particularly difficult to handle, even for the most tongue-tied of women.

This is because only some of the act of successful flirting has to do with what you say.

The rest lies in how you deliver yourself from a non-verbal sense.

It's simple, so keep watching this video, because I'm going to show you the top 11 ways

to successfully flirt.

But before we start, make sure to like this video and subscribe our channel so you won't

miss any interesting update in the future guys.

Let's say you're at the bar one night, you're wearing your favorite outfit, yet

every time you attempt to flirt with someone it's just going horribly.

It might be attributed to some of the tiny mistakes you're making, and lack on knowledge

of what actually works when it comes to flirting.

Conveying interest in someone doesn't have to be fawning over them or dressing to the

nines every time you're around them (although dressing in red is helpful, as we'll get

to).

Rather, it has to do with your body language and how well you deliver yourself.

You don't have to overthink it either.

Actually, as we'll also get to, overthinking it by coming up with a corny one-liner, for

instance, might end up playing against you.

Keeping it simple and cool might be your best bet, especially when you combine that with

the right non-verbals.

Let's get to it.

Here are 11 ways to successfully flirt, according to science.

1.

Hold Some Serious Eye Contact

Turns out eye contact really is a vital part of flirting.

Participants in a study published in the Journal of Research in Personality held eye contact

with a stranger for two minutes consistently.

After the two minutes, the participants cited increased feelings of attraction.

I'm not encouraging you to grab a stranger and stare at him or her for two minutes straight

(two minutes can feel like forever), but when flirting try to hold some eye contact for

as long as you comfortably can to show interest.

2.

Smile That Gorgeous Smile

In addition to making eye contact, another successful flirting tactic is smiling.

TIME spoke to Dr. Monica Moore, a psychologist at Webster University who has researched flirting

techniques, and Moore cited smiling among the best flirting tactics that signals interest.

Additionally worth noting, according to Moore the tactic is universally understood by men

and women.

3.

Offer Up A Great Compliment

SheKnows.com spoke to flirting expert Rachel Dealto who suggested offering up a compliment

as part of a successful flirting routine.

According to Dealto, flirting is about making the other person feel good by giving them

attention, so adding a genuine compliment to that bit of attention your giving will

serve to further amp it up.

In addition to giving him or her a compliment, Dealto also suggested asking the person questions

about themselves.

4.

Tilt Your Head Forward

Angling your head forward is another proven tactic for successful flirting, according

to researchers from the University of Newcastle in Australia.

The researchers found that when women tilted their head forward it made them more alluring.

5.

Make Him Or Her Laugh

According to the Social Issues Research Centre (SIRC), adding humor into the conversation

can make for some good flirting.

SIRC said studies have shown those who use humor in conversations are perceived as more

likeable, and telling jokes can bring a sense of relaxation to the conversation during the

flirting process.

(Just be careful not to cross the line and take the jokes too far by making them wildly

inappropriate!)

6.

Buy Him Or Her A Hot Drink

Coffee lovers, you're going to be happy about this.

Warm beverages can play a part in the flirting process, so if you're flirting with a cutie,

just grab them something hot to drink and work your magic.

According to research out of Yale, holding a warm drink can better someone's perception

of the person they're with, particularly seeing the other person as generous and caring.

FYI too that a cold beverage does just the opposite, according to the study.

7.

Stand Up Straight

Posture means everything when it comes to flirting.

This is because the way you hold your body speaks nonverbally about how confident you

are, and therefore how attractive you might seem to the person you're flirting with.

Research from Colorado College agreed, stand up straight to show you're confident and

that your conscious of how you're moving your body in order to be successful at flirting.

8.

Nix The One-Liners

There's a reason people make fun of cheesy pickup lines, they're sort of ridiculous,

and definitely favored by those on the receiving end.

A study from the journal Sex Roles found one-liners were favored by neither men nor women, so

cut them out.

Instead, consider trying innocuous lines like "What do you think of this band?"

(preferred by women) or a direct approach, "I think you're cute so I had to come

over and say hello" (preferred by men).

9.

Wear Something Red

If your goal in flirting is to be deemed attractive, then choose to wear something red before you

go out.

A study out of the University of Rochester showed men were more attracted to women wearing

red compared to those who weren't wearing the color.

A separate study by the University of Rochester showed the opposite was true of women who

viewed men dressed in red, they were significantly more attracted to them then men who weren't

donning the color.

10.

Go In For The Gentle Touch

According to a study published in the journal Social Influence, the most effective flirtation

touch is a gentle one.

Makes a lot of sense, on the flip side would you want someone aggressively touching you

while they're flirting?

Heck no.

The study also showed the type of touch that will come off as non-threatening is a light

touch on the shoulder or a handshake.

11.

Point Your Feet Towards Him Or Her

The final flirting tactic worth mentioning here if you want to do so successfully has

to do with your feet.

Science shows we as women will point and move our feet towards someone we're interested

in, so if we want to show interest in someone we should use those feet to our advantage.

According to a study reported on by The Telegraph, women will slide their feet toward the person

of interest, making a more open-legged stance.

Oppositely, according to the study, if a woman tucks her legs beneath her or crosses them,

she's showing less interest.

Now that you're equipped with some scientifically backed flirting tactics, keep them in your

arsenal of flirting tools for this weekend.

Don't be surprised if you're quickly wooing love interests all over town.

Well, that's the top 11 ways to successfully flirt.

How to Create a Content Marketing Strategy - Duration: 7:27.

Hey there, it's Ashley Perkins!

Welcome back to the best place to build income, influence and impact for your business or

brand online.

If you're new here, make sure you subscribe because I share new social media and brand

strategies every week!

A good content marketing strategy serves as a guide for all planning, production, promotion,

and measurement of content for your brand or business.

Planning and creating a proper content marketing strategy deepens brand recognition, and builds

your audience, which all results in more clients and customers for you.

Who wouldn't want that?

In this age of social media and online business, brands have become more like publishers and

every publisher needs good content.

I know what you're thinking, easier said than done.

Right?

Before you start creating content, think through your business objectives and the resources

you have available so you can build a content marketing strategy that elevates your social

media efforts to the next level.

Stay tuned for actionable tips that will help you create a highly impactful content marketing

strategy, and if you stick around until the end, I've got a content calendar template

that you can download for free!

When you sit down to create a piece of content, it's imperative that you decide if it's

actually worth creating.

How?

By asking yourself:

1.

Will this increase my brand awareness in certain markets or verticals?

2.

Can this content drive traffic to my website or a referral site?

3.

Will this help increase sign ups to my email list?

4.

Can I use this content to drive people to a lead generation site?

Notice how gaining likes, comments and retweets wasn't included in that list?

That's because they're vanity metrics that often don't align with your larger

business goals, and bigger business goals is what the focus of your content should be

on.

Here are five additional elements you also need to focus on to produce a quality content

marketing strategy that helps you achieve your goals:

1.

Your target audience

Your brand reach, recognition, and successful conversions all boil to down to how well you

understand your target audience, and how effectively you can deliver what they need.

When you're creating your content strategy, try and gather as much information about your

target audience as you can.

I generally ask myself three questions:

1.

What types of content does my audience share most?

(i.e. look at the format, tone, source and length)

2.

Where does my target audience spend most of their time online?

(i.e. social networks, blogs, forums, etc.)

3.

How can I best reach my target audience?

(i.e. organic social media, advertising, search results, etc.)

2.

Understand the content styles best suited to your business

Once you've established your goals and details about your target audience, it's time to

determine the types of content that will help you reach both.

If your goal is to increase brand awareness, you may want to focus on producing video tutorials,

client stories or case studies, or blog content.

If you're focusing on driving website traffic, you may want to invest in targeted social

ads, guest posts on popular industry blogs and podcasts, and producing a value-packed

newsletter.

Finally, if leads are what you're after, then gated content like swipe files, guides

and toolkits are perfect for you, as well as webinars and product demonstrations.

3.

Establish your content creation process

Every task in your business needs a process, or a work flow if you will, in order to be

efficient.

Your content execution plan should be a roadmap on how an idea turns into a finished product,

which means including a schedule, a project brief, and a chain of command.

Your execution plan outlines what you're trying to achieve with your content and by

when.

This then allows you to determine how much content you need to execute a specific content

theme or idea.

Do you need two videos per week for 1-month, or perhaps one blog post and one product demonstration

per week for 2-weeks?

Either way, outlining details like this in your schedule to keep you productive and ahead

of the game.

4.

Create a promotion plan

Now that your content is finished, it's time to strategize ways to promote it to your

audience.

As a modern business owner, you have a number of options for content promotion, the most

popular being social media.

When it comes to promoting your content on social media, you have three main opportunities:

1.

Owned social media

Using your own social networks (i.e.

Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.) to promote your content, making this traffic free because

you own the network referring audiences to your content.

To leverage owned social media effectively, refer back to point number one because knowing

your target audience and what they like in a piece of content is crucial to creating

a value-loop of sharing, engaging and converting.

2.

Earned social media

This refers to the shares and mentions your content gets from others on social media.

Not only are you reaching a wider audience without paying for it, these social shares

actually impact the deliverability of your content in the Google search engine.

3.

Paid social media

This form of social media is fairly self-explanatory, as it refers to social advertising.

This form of social media is helpful in getting your content in front of the right audience

at the right time because you have full control over who views it and when.

5.

Test and perfect

Your content marketing strategy is only valuable if it's actually helping you succeed and

achieve your bigger business goals.

That's why you need a content measurement plan in place!

When setting your goals, you'll determine the benchmarks you want to hit in terms of

your content performance and how it served in getting you closer to your business goals.

To start measuring the performance of your content, invest in an analytical tool that

will deliver all the information you need.

Tools like Hootsuite, Facebook pages, TubeBuddy, Salesforce, and the Preview App are perfect

for collecting and analyzing your content.

It's also important that you get into a routine of measuring your content regularly.

For example, if you're running weekly webinars, that information and data should be tracked

weekly and weighed in comparison on a monthly basis.

There you have it: a top-to-bottom process for creating an impactful content marketing

strategy.
