Adaptive teaching is a way of teaching that addresses the needs of learners that have

different levels of knowledge and backgrounds, rather than a "one size fits all" approach.

In medicine, it's used to teach adaptive learners who learn through real-world problems

- usually a clinical issue affecting a patient.

To show how this works, let's say there's clinical instructor named Dr. Michael who

loves teaching endocrinology.

He might have learning objectives listed in his course syllabus; things like "Recognize

the most common symptoms of endocrine disorders" or "Differentiate between primary and secondary

endocrine disorders".

The syllabus might list out specific "flipped classroom" segments in his course, like

one in which he provides his students with his notes and PowerPoint slides so that they

can review beforehand, and come prepared to discuss a case about precocious puberty.

Altogether, this makes up the declared curriculum which is basically everything that a teacher

expects to teach in a course, and also what they plan to draw from in a final exam or

assessment.

Often times, though, there ends up being a difference between what a teacher expects

to teach and what is actually taught.

In our example, it's totally possible that Dr. Michael's students don't remember

normal endocrine physiology and are therefore struggling to understand the diseases.

To adapt to this situation, Dr. Michael might spontaneously include a 'team learning'

exercise, where he breaks the students into groups to answer multiple choice questions

about various hormones using audience response 'clickers.'

The time spent on this topic might mean that the class won't ever get a chance to discuss

some of the more rare endocrine diseases, and this is where the declared and taught

curriculum diverge.

Now, let's say that Dr. Michael also likes to work with his students outside the classroom

through a web-based learning platform.

He might review questions and flashcards that have been written by one student for their

peers, and Dr. Michael might even add some of his own to help his students remember important

information.

This process lets a teacher get insight into how the students are learning as well as where

they may have gaps in their understanding.

By doing this, Dr. Michael is exploring the parallel curriculum, which is all of the learning

that happens in parallel to or "outside" what a teacher teaches in the classroom.

That includes all of the supplemental materials that each student uses to help them learn.

This ranges from online notes and question banks, to mobile apps to review books.

It also includes,though, all of those little side-bar conversations that students have

about confusing topics, as well as a metacognitive aspect - because it's where students "think

about the way they think and learn" and they make choices about how they want to study.

Additionally, some students might get private tutors, while others use educational websites

- it varies quite a bit, but nearly every student uses some form of "outside" learning

strategies.

Now, a few weeks into class, Dr. Michael might invite a person with diabetes into his classroom

to talk about the disease.

During that interview, the students get to watch how Dr. Michael treats the person with

kindness and respect - both through his words and his actions.

This sort of learning is part of the hidden curriculum which includes skills like active

listening and motivational counseling, which are learned through observation and experience.

That's not to say that these aren't skills that can't be discussed in class, but generally

speaking they're things that have to be experienced to be fully understood.

In the adaptive teaching model, a teacher is able to fluidly move between the taught,

parallel, and hidden curriculum - meeting a student wherever they are in their educational

journey.

In our scenario, Dr. Michael can establish a relationship with each of his students,

and provide really specific feedback and guidance.

Also, readily available technology like responseware, video lecture capture, and web-based study

platforms provide the opportunity for teachers like Dr. Michael to mentor large groups of

students.

In health sciences education, adaptive teaching is most easily done through case-based learning,

which is when students are learning as they work through clinical cases.

That's because students can pick and choose elements of a case that they want to take

a deep dive on, therefore personalizing the curriculum to meet their own interests and

needs.

In case-based learning the goal is to embed every basic science concept in a clinical

case.

Medicine is practiced in cases, and therefore learning in cases prepares students for practice.

The key here, though, is to make sure that there is careful mapping to ensure that all

of the material has been adequately covered and that theteaching objectives are appropriately

mapped out.

Alright, as a quick recap ... Adaptive teaching is a way of teaching where teachers adapt

to the shifting needs of learners by sliding between the taught, parallel, and hidden curriculum.

Case-based learning is very amenable to this approach because it facilitates adaptive learning,

which is where students learn in a real-world context.

hey everybody this is Dan Froelke with another big profit system update and in

this video it's more of a training video I want to show you an offline method

that that seems to get overlooked here that is working for big profit system so

I just want to show you another way to get traffic to your presentation and oh

classified ad sites newspapers you know the weekly newspapers that you see in

the grocery store or your favorite restaurant and I'm gonna show you those

resources in a couple seconds but so all we're doing here is we're taking the bps

sizzle message with which is in the back office it's already recorded for you and

it's and it's a really good sizzle message and so what I did I took the

message in and made kind of a system out of it which you can use you know to get

traffic to your big profit system capture page within turn will lead

people to your sales presentation so here it is right here and I'm gonna go

through this you know really quickly there's there's some training videos in

here and I'm going to show you where all this is in a few minutes okay so how

this works in a nutshell is people are gonna call this number and if you want

to well this is my number you're gonna get your own phone number but if if you

want to call this right now and hear the sizzle message I would play it for you

but it's just it's just really long but it's a great big profitsystem sizzle

message and it's in the back office right now and again I just put this

together you know to show you how to utilize it and and and it works great

you can reach millions of readers okay for a fraction I mean just for very

little money alright I think for like four hundred bucks you can reach like

1.8 million readers okay yeah and return on investment if you get one sale out of

that well it's well worth it alright so so again this is not for everybody

it's just one more strategy okay and if you speak to any of the sales coaches

right now they're gonna tell you the same thing when you advertise make sure

you don't concentrate on just one thing okay I'm talking about you should do the

postcards you should do SMS you should do the email drops you should do offline

and you should do this okay spread it out and that's what I do and I'm having

great success and that's what I'm showing my team members how to do as

well so okay let's get to this I'm going on and too long so here's what you're

gonna do first you're going to purchase your 800 number it's it's not an 800

number but but the company is called 800 link and let me show you that real quick

this this just cost 995 per month and you can get a local area code alright so

that is what you do there first you're gonna purchase your your number you're

going to upload your sizzle message to the 800 link number and then what

happens a person is going to listen to the sizzle call and they're gonna leave

you their name and their email address and their phone number obviously and

you're gonna reach out to these people that's one way of doing it okay

so there's an email version now if you don't want to speak to anybody you can

have it fully automated and I've come up with this plan right here so this is the

fully automated version of it so it works the same way but rather at the end

of the message you're gonna record your own back-end message and you're gonna

tell the people to go to your website however what you're going to do first of

all you're gonna get a name and easy to remember name from either either GoDaddy

or Namecheap and it could be as easy as as bps 25 comm or something extremely

easy so a person can remember it all right so what you're gonna do you're

going to record that on the back end of that sizzle message so it'll play the

whole message and then you know you can say - you can say something like now go

to my web site here and you can say your website repeat it over and over again a

few times spell it all that stuff so there's a way you can record that on a

very free platform called the speakpipe alright you record your little message

you you can download it you can then upload that to your 800 link and you put

it right behind you know your your bps sizzle message

alright so easy as that and you know I explain everything right here I go into

great detail and then here are the the resources

where you can advertise oh and you know there's actually ads inside the big

profit system back office that you can use or I have some as well and let me

show you a couple of resources this is kind of cool this one all right so this

guy here will circulate your links in 30,000 towns in cities across America

all right so he has like three packages here and again these resources I can

show you exactly where they are in just one minute all right so so again we're

at we're advertising a little classified ad with that phone number inside the ad

all right and you'll see some examples of that in here let's see I want to show

you this is a good place to advertise as well home business advertiser right here

I'm not sure what the circulation yeah so it's a it's 25,000 your circulation

right here and that little magazine anyway I've got all kinds of resources

and you know there's free classified ad sources as well but you know these paid

ones oh and then where is the 100k this is a great one here I want to show you

this this has been around a long time and I have used this before and here's a

deal you reach a lot of people now not everyone is looking for home-based

business right however I mean you can reach you can put if you can put your

little 18 word classified ad with your phone number in for example 100 80 bucks

all right 1 million newspapers and they have a business opportunity little you

know a section how about this one 3.5 million circulation for only 379 bucks

that's what I mean the return on investment you know when you get one

sale off this it's worth it okay so that's what

you're going to do that is that was the what I want to show you here today and

4 Traits of Actual Psychopaths You Should Know

When we hear the term psychopath, popular culture has conditioned us to think of serial

killers on the run from the police.

The truth is, psychopaths are much more subtle than people want to believe.

If you work in the corporate world, you've probably encountered one or two as they climb

their way to the top through any means necessary.

In fact about 3 percent of business leaders scored in the psychopathic range during a

2010 study published in Behavioral Sciences & the Law.

So, In this video I'm going to show you the 4 traits of actual psychopaths you should

know.

Contrary to what most people believe, the term psychopath does not refer to any specific

medical diagnosis; both psychopaths and sociopaths are categorized as having antisocial personality

disorders.

These disorders can arise due to a variety of environmental and genetic factors, which

can make it difficult to pinpoint a specific, underlying cause.

Although psychopaths can be hard to spot, and may even be likeable at first, there will

always be signs if you know what to look for.

Here are four traits of actual psychopaths you should know.

1.

Extreme Arrogance

Arrogance is a major sign you're dealing with a psychopath.

This doesn't apply to the average arrogant person; this is arrogance to the extreme.

Not only do they have an inflated sense of importance, but you'll hear them explain

why they're the best at everything, they'll make unrealistic claims regarding their potential,

and they won't believe that the typical rules apply to them.

2.

Manipulative

For the psychopath, manipulation is a game.

Sure, they want to manipulate others in order to get what they want, but it becomes almost

like a test to see how far they can go.

Everyone becomes a target of their manipulative tendencies, and they'll take it as far as

they need to in order to achieve a goal, or just to see a person at their breaking point.

No Remorse

Psychopaths have difficulty showing emotion, which is why they don't feel remorse for

their actions.

A lack of guilt is a major sign you're dealing with a psychopath, and it's usually coupled

with passing the blame to others or denying responsibility.

If they're confronted by someone else for their actions, they'll create rationalizations

in order to avoid dealing with the truth.

4.

Initially Charming

The reason psychopaths are hard to spot is because they're so initially charming.

Although they don't understand emotion or may not be able to express it, they have become

experts when it comes to pleasing people.

They have the ability to draw people in on a surface level, but can't sustain a real

relationship in the long term.

Their quick wittedness and conversational skills can alleviate any suspicions had by

an outside party.
