10 Things Girls Want You to Know, But They Won't Tell You - Duration: 4:29.

10 Things Girls Want You to Know, But They Won't Tell You

Girls and also men actually want their partner to know without them saying anything.

It can be frustrating sometimes for men because they cannot see the clues meticulously as

women do.

It is absolutely not fair, but it is what happens.

That is why, there are actually things that women always want you to know but they won't

tell you.

Here is the 10 things that make you wonder, and you man should know to make your girl

proud of you somehow.

#1 - Know your words

Most women don't like to be said as hot.

They prefer beautiful, amazing, sexy, gorgeous, and such.

The reason is because hot is associated with negativity, and they just don't like it.

Moreover, it is also important for men to know how to say your words.

Some special words should be only said face to face instead of through letter, chat room,

or anything indirect.

#2 - Having a guy time

Women need their time to be alone sometimes, and it won't happen if you always stick

around with them.

Women actually want you to go, getting a life with your kind.

They want you to go with other male friends for having fun since women actually love hearing

your stories of your adventure with your friends too.

#3 - Don't waste their time

It is important to understand that women have their own time just like you do.

Please don't come to them just to make them listen.

Some men really come to the women when they have problems, and they want to dump everything

on her.

It just hurts, and it is burdening them.

Additionally, it also wastes their valuable time just for nonsense from you.

#4 - Don't judge their appearance

Some men don't understand that women are struggling with their look nowadays.

Finding women with great confidence with everything they wear is rare.

That is why it is important to just respect those women as it is.

They will give your respect back by loving you more because you understand them.

#5 - They like surprises

The next thing that you should consider is giving a surprise.

It sounds cliché, but the more it sounds it is, the more make sense it is.

Women really like surprise especially for things that they like.

Even if they don't like it, they will still appreciate it.

Any small surprise is always appreciated, and it is best to prepare the best one.

#6 - Little things are big

Women are great with details.

They can either appreciate or be disgusted with details.

They really want to have the best things included in details such as giving her a hug, holding

on the door, and writing notes.

#7 - Impress them

In order to impress them, you don't have to do things like you want to impress your

male friends.

In fact, you should do the otherwise.

You should be calm, gentle, and kind to impress them.

Additionally, what makes them interested in you is your original trait or behavior and

that is all you need to maintain.

#8 - Tell the truth

Being truthful is sometimes the hardest thing to do.

However, it is important to be truthful since girls can notice and even smell lies from

far away.

#9 - They want your time

They want you to spare your time for them.

That is why you should focus on establishing emotion, feeling, and care towards them.

Please throw unrelated things away from the happiness that you are trying to build.

#10 - They want your attention

When they are mad, you should consider the fact that they are trying to seek attention.

Don't think elsewhere first because mad women are usually because they are lacking

attention.

It does not have to your attention because there are so many other people surround them.

Be sure to know the source of their issue, and start going from there to give a proper

attention.

Well, at least that's the 10 things that girls want you to know, but they won't tell you.

Really cool information isn't it?

I hope you enjoy this short video, if you have something on your mind, please share

your thoughts and experiences in the comments below!

RIGHT DECISION? Vitamix V1200 (Venturist Series) | Life is NOYOKE - Duration: 12:46.

Hey Lenny Gale,

Life is NOYOKE.

This is the Vitamix Venturist V1200.

And we're going to open it up

and talk about who it's for,

who it might not be for.

And we have our baby here because

we couldn't get a babysitter.

Okay, so we're going to open up the box.

We're gonna go fast because we don't know how long he can

last.

Now I want to say one thing before I open

this up and that's this

feels this is,

we've had this for a while

and it almost feels a little weird to open

it up because the V1200

is right now

a Costco model.

It's the model that the Costco

Road Show reps sell,

and it's out of our territory.

You can get it direct through Vitamix

the way that we sell,

but it's way way way

more dollars than the

price that you get it from those Costco guys.

There's a reason if it's their territory this is

their model.

But we get tons

of questions about it

and so we want to show you what

it's like compare it to other

Ascent models

and answer

some common questions that we're getting.

Maybe it's right for you.

Maybe it's not. We'll talk about it.

Cool?

Ok now that I've gotten all emotional about

this model.

OK. First things first.

Should we open this thing up?

This is a nice looking thing.

We'll show you the front and the back

and the sides.

Here we go.

Front.

What's that? Yawn?

Oh no, yawn means we've got about

four minutes so we'll go fast.

Oh it's white.

We got a white one. Cool.

Ok OK.

All right ready buddy?

Let's talk about this.

Who might the Vitamix V1200

be for?

Before we're talking about who might be right

for and who it might not be right for,

I want to say that the Venturist is

sort of like a sister

to the Ascent Series.

It can do almost all the things that

the Ascent Series can do.

It just has a different

look and feel.

It's sort of like the budget model that

was created for Costco.

Now keep in mind it has the same

performance.

It's going to give you the same silky

smooth smoothies ability to

make hot soups nut

putters in large batches

The same capabilities as

Ascent Series.

Okay? That makes sense?

In the past I've referred to the Costco

models as Frankenstein models

and that's because they pulled different elements

from different lines

and different series's.

I don't want to that's a scary.

This particular Costco Model is actually very

good with the quality blend quality,

the performance is great.

The question as we'll try

and figure out is is the

V1200 actually right for you.

The Vitamix V1200 might be for

you if you want to make

very very very

small batches of smoothies.

We've heard some feedback that the 20 ounce container

is actually too small for a

meal replacement smoothies.

Ok more detail here.

Why are the 20 ounce containers maybe a little too

small for a meal replacement smoothies.

Well there is some reduction

that happens when you make the smoothies.

So if you put 20 ounces of

ingredients, and that includes

ice or frozen fruit,

when you blend it,

there's going to be some reduction.

Twenty ounces of ingredients might turn to

maybe 14 ounces of smoothies.

We are a household of two

and a half

and we've only used the 20 ounce

containers as to go containers

so we make a huge batch

and then fill those up to the top

and head out the door.

The Vitamix V1200 might be for

you if a Costco

rep demonstrated this for you.

Costco roadshow

reps make money the same way

that we do. They get a small percentage

of the sale after helping you make

the right decision.

Baby flip.

So this is an opportunity to support individual

and not just a big

retailer.

The V1200 might be for you if you

like the look of it

especially compared to the

Ascent. It's different

and as we say the

Vitamix is going to live in your counter for a lot of

years so you better love

the way that it looks. And if you do.

Condense your words it's the biggest feedback.

Why else may the V1200 may be for you.

If you like the idea of Bluetooth

connectivity

and connection

with the smart app

and scale. This is a feature

available on Ascent Series too.

But yeah the Venturist has this

as well.

Maybe you can't resist a pack--.

You can't resist a package deal

can you? No, you you can't.

You can't see his smile.

You know you just love the extras.

The Venturst V1200 might be for you

if you like extras.

If you're someone that had single use

things in your kitchen like if

you have an electric can opener

or a

spiralizer.

Single items for single tasks.

If you like extras,

this might be a good fit

And you want to hold hands during this?

Okay this machine might not be for

you for a few reasons.

Maybe you have sensitive ears.

Maybe you're looking for the least loud

Vitamix.

This is not it.

That's the A3500.

Okay, so more on this.

The V1200 is about as loud

as most of the loud Vitamixes

clocking in around 93 94

95 decibels on high.

If you compare that to the quieter

the quietest Vitamix machine,

so the A3500

and the Pro 750 those

with the true metal finishes those

are about 88 89

90 decibels on high.

That may not seem like a lot

but since decibels are

parabolic even just for

decibels equals

a 40 percent increase

in noise to

the human ear.

Maybe you like the idea of one-touch

walk-away blending.

The Venturist does not come

with pre-programmed settings.

You can set it like

a microwave to set a timer

and get that walkaway effect,

but the one touch preprogram

settings is not here.

Okay a little more detail on walk away blending on

the V1200.

You push the timer,

press start, and walk away.

It's pretty easy

but to put it into perspective

the Ascent A3300

and A3500

they work in a similar way

but the buttons are a little different.

The buttons on the Ascent models

are touchscreen so

it's a little easier to get them to

activate.

And then also the difference is how fast they

actually count.

So if you want to set a

5-minute timer on the V1200

it would take

about this long.

And if you want to set a timer on

the Ascent Series,

either the A3300 or the A3500,

it would take about this long.

And of course if you have the A3500,

you have that one-touch

walk-away.

So soup,

start, walk away.

It might not be for you if your main goal

is single serve smoothies.

I had a long conversation

with someone who bought the Venturist

and she wasn't sure if it was right for her.

She wanted to make - it was just

her. She lives alone

and she wants to make smoothies for her.

She didn't really care for the

extras that came

with it

and wanted to get something that

was a better fit. She ended up

with the E310.

It ends up being around half the price

and it was a better fit for her as

her first Vitamix.

You shouldn't be afraid of the wide 64

ounce container.

It's really great at making

pretty much anything that you want.

The challenges are

with really thick blends: nut

butters,

hummus,

frozen desserts.

To make those things in the wide

64 ounce container you need

to make a very large

batch

If you don't want to make very large

batches of those thick blends.

You need a narrow container

that comes with a tamper;

that's tamper compatible.

And this isn't a machine that comes

with that. For example if you wanted to make

banana ice cream in this machine

you would need to use about 8

frozen bananas.

You cannot use that 8-ounce

or the 20 ounce for that banana

and nice cream.

Because those are not compatible

with the tamper.

Same thing with nut butters.

Same thing with hummus.

Really difficult if not impossible

to make those in these small

personal blend-and-go

containers.

And this is why we think that the ultimate Vitamix

setup is a full sized Vitamix

with a secondary

48 ounce narrow container.

Right?

That's what we rock.

And that's why if you plan to frequently

make really thick blends,

nut butters, hummus,

frozen desserts,

you probably better off

with getting a secondary container

or picking a machine that has

a narrow container

to start with.

So that's an E310. Or perhaps

one of the Certified

Reconditioned Legacy models

like the 5200.

So why else? We talked about this.

It comes with a lot of pieces that don't stack

or organize in an efficient manner.

So if you want to stay organized in your

kitchen and have a minimalist approach

the Veturst V1200 is probably not the best

for you.

How do you feel about design?

Unlike the A3500 it's not

designed

with design in mind.

If you're registering for a Vitamix for a wedding

go for the biggest and the best.

And as of today that's the A3500

With True Metal finish

So copper, black stainless,

graphite metal,

or brushed stainless.

What else can you say about this buddy?

We we get so many

questions about the V1200

and we want you to know

and feel comfortable that it's the right decision

for you.

Or it's not the right decision.

So if you have more questions send us an email.

We want to support

the guys that are out there selling

this machine.

They deserve your business.

If they sold you on the Vitamix

get the V1200

But if we sold you on the Vitamix,

or Blendeding

with Henry sold you on the Vitamix,

buy through us

or them or him.

Look, Vitamix

was built on demonstrators

at state fairs

and roadshows packing

up in their car and selling this machine

in front of an audience.

This is how these machines have been sold

for over 100 years.

Ladies and gentlemen I'm going

to give you a demonstration

of one of the most wonderful machine

was ever invented: the Vitamix

machine.

They're not a typical blender.

They have a price point that needs the

value demonstrated.

Look, if you tried some green juice

or some hot soup in the store

and were sold on the V1200,

buy it

But hey if you've been watching our channel

or using the resources on our

website buy through us.

It's so much appreciated.

A Vitamix is a Vitamix.

With that being said.

Send us your questions.

We're happy to help you.

Right?

Okay, last thing I want to leave you

with this: If you're considering

the V1200 because it's the best deal,

I want you to remember that you can

always get a Vitamix for around

300 bucks instead of

whatever the V1200 is running for.

Okay?

From a design perspective.

Oh! Hi!

You want puppy?

Should we

rinse it off?

Yeah?

I'm on camera,

we should rinse it off. Okay. Puppy. Puppy? Nom nom.

>> So, we're going to go on.

First, just because I got you two guys,

can we get some names.

Okay. All right.

And are you,

come on in, come on in.

You got to be special, okay?

I'm doing a presentation just for you.

Are you game devs?

Are you students?

Are are you looking for a job?

Oh, nice.

You're UX designers.

Okay. Well, you are in for a good talk.

So I will probably stay away from

the code part of this and then we'll just go,

and then, I was just saying so are

you a dev, UX designer?

Good. Okay, fantastic, you came to a right place.

So, we'll do no code,

but first, I kind of like this an abbreviated version.

You haven't seen my GDC talk earlier?

Perfect. Okay. So, this will

be a super abbreviated version of that.

So, first, I want to talk about kind of a special year,

so this is when I got my start in the games industry.

And in 2008, I made games

and I won one of these things, and by the way,

if you guys have not done so,

you definitely want to go to the IGF award show,

it's an experience, so that's happening later today.

And then I got to talk to a bunch of people.

And also in 2008, the App Store happened.

And when App Store happened,

this was kind of what life was like,

like it's pretty good for me and a lot of other people,

and we had our blue ocean and then unfortunately,

what happened was that blue ocean quickly turned into

bloody waters as App Store got crowded.

But it was okay,

not all hope was lost because although

mobile was where everybody was going to,

the PC actually came to save us all.

And once again, we had happy times,

but it wouldn't last because unfortunately,

darkness would descend on the land

because the sharks would come back.

And over 7,000 games

that released on Steam this last year, that's crazy.

So, a decade ago,

it used to be that if you built

a good game or actually to be honest,

if you built an average game,

you could get to the top of the App Store.

Now, not true.

Now, if you ship a great game,

if you win one of those IGF awards,

you might not sell very many copies,

and that's the reality.

You can make a great game but there's going to

be 100 different bad or average games out there too.

And so, that's kind of thing that I'm trying to go fix,

and the way we're trying to fix

it is with live streaming.

Do you guys watch live streams at all?

Like what's your background, a little bit?

Okay. You know a little about influencers.

So, influencers are really really important,

and because what they do is they allow us

to apply this spotlight to the work that you're doing.

And when you say that you're are UX designers,

is that in the games business?

Okay. Yes. So, it's super important because right now,

it's not about selling

the customer who gets to your store page,

there's a really good interview that Acampo Santo

was doing where most people like,

he's got Fireworks which is an amazing game,

most people have not heard of that.

Like even heard of that game,

it was just crazy to think about.

So, it's really about this top of the funnel,

people aren't even getting to the top of

the funnel, and influencers,

if you're not a big big studio

and you don't have a half a billion

dollars to spent on marketing,

influencers is kind of the way that you have to go.

Mixer was founded by influencers,

this guy's name is Lochlan, I work with him.

So I worked on Mixer if you haven't noticed.

And one of the cool things about

Mixer is we were founded by influencers and so,

we understand them very well and what they want.

And Lochlan tells a story

that I want to share with you guys,

because I think it's really insightful

and it will help you think

about how influencers think, so you can reach them better.

And so, like all good stories,

it starts in the beginning of time.

There is YouTube, and YouTube is cool

because Lochlan could post

a video and then what happened,

people would comment on the video.

And then he posts another video,

and because he was working a job,

I forget what he was doing,

but then he got to quit do full time and make videos.

And he got up to 2 billion subscribers

on YouTube making minecraft videos.

But the problem was,

he had this delay of two days between

his audience and his crowd saying

something and then him reacting to that.

And then comes along a company called Twitch.

And Twitch does this genius thing where they

take the video and they take

the comments and they do this.

They put them together. And what that allows him to do is

now he can talk with his audience, but at the time,

I actually worked with Twitch in the early days,

the delay was actually two minutes,

it was around a minute or two minutes.

And so what that means is,

take a multiplayer game that

maybe last like five minutes,

and you get a cool head shot,

and you comment and say, "Wow,

that was a really cool head shot."

Well, you probably died and are in the next match,

so you have no idea what I'm talking about.

So, that's not great, but hey,

then comes along Mixer to save the day.

And so, Mixer pioneered

low latency subsecond neural time delay,

so there's basically no delay.

It's the same thing as you guys talking to me,

and so less like we're in the same room,

and this now allows Lochlan to talk

together with his audience and have a deeper connection.

And if you talk to a lot of influencers,

that's where a lot of influencers

will say why they like Mixer is

because they have that really

intimate connection with their audience.

Okay. So, it's not just chat spam emojis,

it's a two way thing going on.

But Lochlan has this problem that he

has stream for eight hours a day,

12 hours a day, and I don't know about you guys,

but it's really hard to be entertaining for me.

I have like 20 minutes and I get to entertain you guys.

I cannot imagine doing it for

eight to 12 hours every single day.

I would run out of content.

And so what he did was he'd have

to practice, practice, practice.

So, all the games that he works on,

he's going to prepare, he's going to practice,

he's going to know where the jump scare is,

so that when that jump scare happens,

he can fall out of his chair.

He's acting, but he falls

of the chair so that the audience can say,

"Oh my God, where did he go?"

And he has that moment, so he's trying to

create these moments for his audience.

But it's a lot of work to do that,

but because the latency is so low,

you can actually play with them.

You can actually play with the streamer.

And that allows him rather than acting,

he can just naturally react to what's going on,

because you're just now playing together.

And so, he's got this connection

with people who otherwise,

the period of chat is super high,

like you go look at the average stream,

a small percent of people are

chatting, most people are lurking.

Why? Because I'm not a witty person,

I got to think of something. Do I want to say hi?

Like well, I mean it's a very hard thing to say

but anybody can play together,

it's a lot lower barrier to entry.

And when we think about interactive,

the cool part about it

is when we have the ability to play together,

we can actually think as game designers,

how do we actually use that

to think about these viewers as player?.

And so, if I told you that,

70 percent of your audience

is going to be experiencing your game,

experiencing your experience through

a web browser and not through a controller,

would you think about designing that experience

differently so that 70 percent

of your audience could have a good time?

Right. You would. So, this is

something where it's not just Mixer,

it's a small world like very good friends with my friends

over there at Twitch and other places in like,

this is like an industry thing that's happening,

so this is a trend where we're moving from

passive viewing into active playing.

And it just kind of intuitively makes sense.

And so, right here in this presentation,

you should be thinking that,

whether it's one year from now or two years from now,

if you're not thinking about this

for a game that you design today,

you're probably going to get left

behind with the trend that's coming out.

That was from my last frontier.

So the power of live, I like this picture

because the analogy I use is,

let's say I go out into

some remote part of the forest and I'm hiking,

and I set up two sticks and I kick a ball through it,

I'm doing the same thing as these guys are doing,

they're just kicking a ball through some sticks.

But this one matters and mine doesn't,

and the reason why is all these people watching.

And that's something that we're noticing on Mixer,

is that there's the game and then there's

all this conversation and

stuff happening outside the game,

and that when you achieve something in

the game or you beat a boss or you do something special,

if you're by yourself in a basement,

it's cool, it's exciting,

but when you have a bunch of people watching you do that,

then it has meaning and that's what that's about.

So that's the power of live. Live is so powerful.

People spend way more time at Live than they do on VOD's.

Why? Because you don't know what's going to happen,

and by you being here and especially with low latency,

you can affect the outcome.

And if you try to affect the outcome,

then you want to stay to see what

happened. Here's some data.

So, I can't share

the numbers because it's a partner

and I would not share that partner's data,

but you get the Gist with the curves.

This is a game that's been out for years.

And it had flatlines, and then there's a spike,

and this spike honestly when you look it,

it looks like when we have a game launch,

but there was not a game launch.

What happened was the game added

interactivity features and then this happened.

Well, that's interesting.

And we've seen this curve actually with a lot of games,

and the reason why is because

remember, so I'm getting echo,

as a game developer,

you're trying to target these influencers and streamers,

and so the best thing you can do is give them

great content to make great streams.

And so, what happened with this game was it added

interactivity and so now suddenly,

the game becomes popular again because there is

this new content that

the streamers can go share with their audience.

And so that explains what happened there.

Here's a game called

Death's Door which you probably haven't heard of.

But this is a game from the ground up,

it's actually only played via Mixer.

It's a choose your own adventure style game,

and so what you do is,

you see an eerie passage to the right

or and there's shrieks coming or silence to the left,

where do you go, right or left?

So, that's the game. And by the way,

for those games you never choose

the silence because you're going to die.

It's how you know that's bad,

there's like something waiting out there.

But anyway, that's the game.

And I think had this game launched on Steam,

I don't know if it might have gotten lost,

but because it launched on Mixer

and had this interactivity,

it got picked up in

about a month or so in that kind of ballpark.

But like a million views, that's big,

that's huge, like there's

real power here, and those are a couple examples.

So, what I want to show you just to kind of ground this,

I want to show you a game

that does interactive to

get you a sense of what it could be.

So, we'll switch over to that video.

All right.

So, this is a game called Hyper Sentinel.

It did well on Kickstarter,

It integrated Mixer into special mode.

So, it's an Executer.

And what you're seeing here

is there are buttons that appear below the screen.

And the viewers can create asteroids.

So, you have these funny asteroids.

And when they do so,

their name actually appears on the screen.

If the latency so low, they can control,

this thing is called a Mixeroid,

and it can attack the player.

And so one of the views is controlling

that character and they are creating rockets,

they're spawning enemies, they're dropping power ups.

And the coolest part about

this thing is everything you're seeing,

the whole level is driven by the audience.

So, if there's no audience,

it's just a ship at space.

But when viewers come in,

get after it you get missiles,

you get power like, so every breakthrough

is different and it's based on the people watching.

And so, this is really a new thing that

Hyper Sentinel has done.

So now, I want to talk about some of

the things that something Hyper Sentinel does as well.

So, the first thing they did well in the video,

and this was like these are

some of the design lessons that we started to learn.

So, the number one is viewer retribution,

and so that's if somebody does something,

they want their 15 seconds of fame.

And so it's a small thing,

but just showing that the person who did it.

So if I spun an asteroid and it

kills the player showing my name,

and so killed me, that allows

the broadcaster to have

a conversation with somebody

who maybe never would have chatted.

So, that's a really big deal,

and then we're certain to see this like

Hope versus Hurt Mechanic.

So in Hyper Sentinel is divided

into attackers and defenders.

And so hoping makes a lot

of sense because streamers are trying to build community.

So, if you give me ammo, then great, I like you a lot.

Because you gave me ammo, you helped me win.

But it can work the other way where if there

are trolls out there who they just want to troll,

and so this gives them something to do.

But the more important thing is you think about balance.

So Hyper Sentinel spends a bunch of time thinking

about game balance, a whole lot of time.

And so what they do is

just like in traditional game design,

it is easier in the beginning of the game

to spawn the power ups,

and you have a limited number, and

then later on in the game,

it becomes easier for

the attackers to spawn bigger and bigger enemies.

So, the game actually naturally becomes harder.

And there are these interesting design choices where,

maybe you only get three health upgrades

as a viewership that you have to share,

and one invincibility shield that is time limited.

And so, you have to think about,

do I use it now or do I wait,

I know it's going to get harder, but if

I wait they might die and I can't use it.

So the viewer actually has

like deep game play

that they actually have to think about.

And then our rewards is the idea that

if I do something, it's progression.

So, just like with any game,

you want the notion of

progression it's like you're playing and

so for Hyper Sentinel after every round,

every 2 minute round, I get further on a leader board.

And that leader board can get me to the top

of Hyper Sentinel leader board for that stream.

And then making sure that there's replay ability,

so there are these short loops.

But there's a real game loop there.

Like it's not just like Click or Confetti,

it's not a gimmick,

there's a real life game loop that

repeats and I want to come back to.

In the last one is Subtle.

They thought about how to scale

from small streams all the way to big streams.

And the way they do that is on a small stream,

if I press Asteroid or I press

one of the power ups, that just happens.

On a bigger stream of greater than some number,

a certain percentage of the audience has to

actually press that in order for it to happen.

So, a progress bar kind of appears and

then the power up shows up.

So, that's how they scale.

And then what they also do is

they purposely divide the audience,

so it's always balanced.

And so they've got attackers

and defenders in the game will

make sure that there's not too many attackers,

not too many defenders, so

that the balance is just right.

Here's another game on a show. It's called Next Up Hero.

And Next Up Hero,

just to kind of set the stage for you guys.

Next Up Hero is like

an Arcade style game that harkens back to the old days

Arcades where its a really tough game,

and we are going to have a few things.

So each viewer gets to cheer for two side of

the Dirge to try the enemies

and the heroes which are the protagonist.

And he can care for either side,

and this becomes important later.

And then he could also spawn the Echos,

which are fallen heroes that are

under-powered but they can aid the hero

in attacking other enemies.

Every viewer get this screen and so

they go for whoever they want.

But the cure is not important because the cure is to

be sent later by these Commander rules.

And so, you can flunk data as well,

so it's up to player.

And find real time, so like you

click it had happen instantly.

And not shown here but your name would appear

above so that you see

it, and then here is a commander mode.

So in commander mode, I have,

up to let's say tens of Echos.

And then I can play this real time strategy game

on top of the computer game.

And tell these Echoes,

"Go attack that guy, go attack that guy."

Or sacrifice yourself from something called an Ancient.

An Ancient wipes out everybody.

And in order to introduce this one of the action,

I need to have Cures.

So that is where Cures come into play.

I need to convince people to give me Cures

so that I can go back in.

And then here is the Dirge.

The Dirge could use these things as well,

but they also need Cures.

And so they are

few commanders playing against each other,

to try to win the game.

And so, there is a couple others that you

stun you from Freeze,

like [inaudible] So a couple of things I kind of want to take

away from this is that these games,

a lot of people ask me they say like well,

so these things are designed

with Mixer from the ground up.

But actually they didn't like

both of these experiences came to us

with Finnish games and added Mixer to them,

if you think about, if you work

on games we all have debug hooks,

we all have like test code like things like that.

And actually all this stuff uses

existing functionality they already had.

A lot of us have a call mode,

things like that. And so this.

game play that you're seeing actually reuses and

reassembles functionality that the game already

had in a really interesting way that

creates a whole new game and experience for the viewers.

So, around here I asked nobody was dev,

but to give you an idea,

we are trying really hard to make it easy.

So, my goal is

that you can take your most junior developer or even in

some cases a non-technical person and they can

prototype and do something cool with

interactive in an afternoon or over lunch.

So, that's kind of the goal of DevCost.

And then you can do something like this.

But then it depends on what we do.

So, where I kind of want to end the presentation

is with this right here mixerdevinfo@microsoft.com.

It's really important, like we're

in the early days of this stuff.

And so even if you just have a concept,

like if you don't have a concept,

and you want to run a bios to see like

is this something that you guys are straight upfront,

is it something that we could work with you on.

We want to hear about it.

So like a super early and so there's

a real opportunity to have some great ideas

and kind of be pioneers.

And then for us to partner together,

and then naturally if you do something cool,

then we'll going to want to

promote that and tell that story.

So, we definitely want to.

Nothing can hurt you by reaching out and

sending out something if you've got a concept.

Thank you, for us to go take a look at.

So, I definitely encourage and I leave you with this,

just go think about this and

maybe tonight, maybe tomorrow,

you'll come up with the concept

and just send us an email and let us know.

And then we can kind of go from there.

All right, thank you.

Why Cultivate - Duration: 18:13.

Hi, it's Lao, it's a beautiful spring day I decided to come out for a walk, come

out to do a little meditating, and I decided I wanted to address a couple of

concepts that somebody had asked me. People say to me a lot of times, so as a

Daoist what do you do? and the Daoist priest, like what's that all about?

or you know, I don't really want to do religious studies, or I'm not really all

that spiritual, and I hear this a lot, and a lot of people don't really even

understand what the word Daoism means, much less really get the understanding,

and I get that, and so I kind of want to have a discussion that comes up, I would

say a lot in pretty much everyday conversation, and that's kind of the

conversation of Why cultivate? why? and in not just Daoism I mean, Buddhism, Yoga,

Jainism, Sikhdom, Sufism, a lot of these paths require a lifetime of commitment

and a commitment that I would say 99% 98% of the population have no desire to

make, and I don't think it's because of laziness or because of some sort of lack

of desire to connect to life, I think that a lot of times these things aren't

articulated very well, a lot of the academics and the scholars and the

poet's who, who talked about Daoism, you know, people say to me well I study Daoism

a little bit you know, I read the Dao of pooh, and I'm like ..

or they even go to the classics like the Daodejing and the Zhuangzi and

they say yeah that's Daoism, and I say okay.. Alan Watts talks about talking

to a Zen master once and the guy said if you understand Zen you could read the

phone book right, but what would you have to read or

what would you have to do to be a Daoist the answer is: nothing, you don't need to read

something or do something to be a Daoist, it's a way you look at life, but why

would you look at life that way ?that's what I want to discuss right here. The

life of a cultivationist is a life that sees into things, that sees a connection

to all things. Many people wake up to an alarm clock, they drink their coffee

because they need their stimulant, they have their appointment book so they can keep

everything in line, because you have to do all these things in a day and they

make time to have coffee with friends, or tea with friends, or lunch with friends,

or some sort of eating ritual socially with friends, and then they turn and they

go and they pick up a movie, or pick up a bottle of wine on the way home so they

can quicken the blood and they can gladden the mind, and maybe drink a

little to excess, and they lament about why this relationships not good and why

that person did this, and my mom did this; and then they get closer to bed , and they

either have somebody but they feel close to someone else, or they feel a million

miles apart from the person they sleep next to, or they don't have somebody and

they feel like the whole world has somebody and I don't, and there's this quiet life

of desperation which eventually leads to going to sleep and waking up and doing

it all over again, people say that's life!

Some people find purpose, we've talked about purpose in other videos, we talk

about purpose you know, I volunteer, I go to church, I you know, I travel ,I find my

identity in my work, I'm a mom, I'm a dad, I'm an activist, I'm a hacktivist, but all

of those things are actions and they don't necessarily have depth and they

don't necessarily fulfill the soul. Humans who look for happiness will never

find it, because to look for happiness is to find everything else, and then you

have to go in through everything else in it, so it's a losing proposition,

It's red-herring, I've said before, the life of purpose, now that's the way to go, but

most people really resonate with the idea that I wasn't born to wake up ,pay

bills and die, and yet they don't really live very far off from some permutation

of that idea, what does a cultivationist do? what makes a person who follows

The Way? almost every tradition, Christianity originally was called The

Way, Judaism many parts of the Pentateuch talk about an angel or the Lord keeping

him in The Way, the Dharma you know is path of The Way, it's just a lot this

idea, and what is that Way? it's a way you relate to the world around you, you see

me in nature, most people see Daoists in nature, but what does that mean to be in

nature? it means that at any given moment on a spring day,

there's so much growth, and yet I see all these dead leaves on the ground, and I

see ants crawling up and building mounds, and termite damage on these trees over

here, there's constant creation and constant destruction, and all of it taken

into context of this forest makes it a beautiful forest, but it's

beautiful even though I see a lot of detritus, see a lot of death, I see a

lot of plant massacre and macabre,

And as a cultivationist, I come in here and I see all of it happening and I can

say to myself, self, this is the way things work, things are born, things live,

things die, and I was born I'm alive but one day I'll day, but just as these trees die, new sprouts come out,

just as this tree collapses, and decays and enriches the soil and new

sprouts come out, and so is there really death at all? what I'm doing right now, is

showing you the inner workings of a thought of a person who cultivates. That,

is the way I look at the world the actual way the world works? or should I

suspend the way I see the world and actually see how the world works free

from my labels and meanings? Can I let the world tell me how it works? and the

hardest part for humans ,can I accept that that's just the way it works? you

see, people get into relationships with one another, then those relationships

sprout and beautiful growth and they're spring and there's love and there's

twitterpated and there's lots of frolicking , and then there is a summer

time, there's you know, laziness and

there's cultivation and there's a lot of activity, and then there's fall, where

it's not quite like it used to be, heat is not really there, then the winter or the

winter of our discontent, where, why am i with that person? what was I thinking? who

was I? who are they?you see everything goes through the same cycles, this is a

normal thing, if you stay through the winter, It'll be another spring, if you

want another spring but most people they don't last through the winter , like some

of these trees they'll die, simply because they didn't have deep enough

roots, and very firm ground. This sounds very philosophical of course it is,

because philosophy means the love of wisdom, it's a Greek term, the love of

wisdom, in the ancient traditions of the Gnostics ,Sophia was the embodiment of

divine feminine wisdom , when people cultivate they see these things around

them and they look and they say maybe life isn't happening to me, maybe life's

just happening, maybe if I put aside my persona which is the mask I wear during

my drama , and I put down my dramatis personae and I look around and I can see

that as you see a human in a forest , but why am I a human in a forest, why am I not

just another creature in a forest? I've seen bumblebees here, I've seen squirrels

here, I've seen many things; people think humans are unnatural, yet if

I died I would decompose no different than this tree, we are not unnatural ,we

are very natural, but we don't understand our nature so therefore it seems

unnatural because our own nature is foreign to us, our nature has everything

from licentiousness yes, anger, rage , those are all parts of the

baser part of ourselves, can it be tamed? of course it can, can it be understood,

worked with? possibly even used to our advantage ? well that's kind of the point,

or can we eradicate it from ourselves because it's bad! and then we make enmity

with our own self. How many people think of the old religious type of scourging

themselves to purify themselves? and for what ?because they didn't understand

their own nature and somebody else told them nature, instead of observing it

directly for yourself. Why cultivate? why practice the Dao? very simple and again I

don't use the word Dao as in Chinese esoteric ,philosophical , religious system,

I don't mean it that way the Dow is just a word to connote this

extremely large and ineffable current, that flows through all things, this

lifeforce, you can find it in Sufism, you can

find it in Hermeticism, you can find it in Gnosticism, you can find in the

orthodoxy too, if you know what you're listening for,

but why enjoying yourself to that? why look deeper? during the Age of Enlightenment

during the Renaissance these were men and women who looked

deeper into the world, and found things like alchemy, they found things like

philosophy and theurgy, they found things like astrology, and while they may seem

like hokey superstitious things, yes hokey and superstitious people do

use them to explain the world , because they don't have any other way to do it

and it matches their emotional and superstitious profile, but that's not a

pejorative, because at least they're doing something! yeah? but it was a way to

find out, how does the macrocosm work and you'll find that it works the same as

the microcosm, and how to match the microcosm to the macrocosm that you can

live in harmony, and find out that Heaven and Hell are just real estate you create,

just heaven and hell are real estates, the worst times in your life can also be

the best times of your life, but you have to have the skill to be able to see that,

you have to be able to control the most important thing that you, regardless of

how long you meditated for,or if you just started today, if you're gonna start

in five minutes, if you started 50 years ago, the hardest thing a human can ever

gain mastery over , is their focus, some people say, you have to master

yourself, all you're mastering when you master yourself is your focus,

what do you focus on? if you focus on what you have, you'll have gratitude, if

you focus on what you don't have, you'll have deprivation and lack and bitterness

and resentment and jealousy, but you have to control your focus. What does a mystic

like a Taoist or a Buddhist or a Sufi do differently? they control their focus at

every moment. The Sufi who says Inshallah by the will of God, because he's focusing

on what he considers and understands as God at every moment ,you can say it's an

anthropomorphic thing, maybe it isn't, you determine that, that has to be right

for you, the cultivationist finds what's right for

them and works with that, but they work on focusing , whether you work in finance

whether you work in retail, whether you work as a janitor, whether you work as an

executive, it doesn't matter where you work, can you control your focus and see

that all you're doing in that environment is the same thing as if you

were a priest, or a nun , or anywhere else? the trappings may seem differently but

the labor is the same, you are people taking care of people ,trying to help

them better their lives and thereby bettering your own life. That fundamental

ground can be found across all work if you want to find it, but if it's

dog-eat-dog and competition well, you'll find that too. Focus is everything, so the

answer to the question is why cultivate? because if you can't control your focus

every little keys jangling, every little shiny thing, every little inflammatory

remark will catch your focus and you will be constantly beset upon, and

therefore you will be the victim, you will be the one being imposed on, you

will be the one being harmed. I don't think you want to be that person,

but you will be, until you can gain mastery and control over your own focus.

How do we do that? first you've got to see your patterns,

you've got to see the patterns that you live in, there's a pattern, things you say,

things you do, things you focus on, those three patterns create who you are at any

given moment. Once you see your patterns, you have to learn that as long as you

stay in those patterns you'll never get a different result, so what do you do? you

change the pattern, but when do you change the pattern? the most important

time to change a pattern is when you're in the situation. That's the second step

first step is realizing patterns, but you gotta learn to see those patterns in

the moment when they're happening and then make a different decision, so if

your pattern is I'm driving along, traffic happens,

I gotta get somewhere, oh I'm so angry why is this happening to me!!? this is not

fair!! well you're using your body in a very certain way, you're tensing ,your

seeing what you're not getting to do, stupid people !!! the language you're using,

you're focusing on not getting your way. Or you could realize you you always worry

about not having enough time, well now you're sitting in a car, no one's

bothering you, so guess what? can't go anywhere but don't need to at

this point because there's a car in front of you, and you have every logical reason why

and so therefore take that time to rest and breathe, put on a book on audible or

something, do something for yourself. Take that time, that's mandatory self-care

time, you've changed your focus, you change your language ,then your body

relaxed when you change your physiology. Changing the pattern in the situation is

the only way, I cannot help you overcome your fear of heights

if we don't go to altitude, we can't go to sea-level and overcome a fear of

heights it won't work, you got to go to altitude,so the only way you can break

these patterns, is when you're in the situation, and once you break that

pattern, the last step is to take that situation which caused this really

untoward or negative pattern, and find the way that you want to behave, find the

way that you want to respond instead of react, and every time you get in that

situation practice, practice, practice, practice,

link that new behavior, that new pattern, to that old detrimental or negative

situation, and then you've personally mastered yourself ,you've personally

cultivated yourself, this is the basic nuts and bolts, 1, 2, 3, steps of

cultivation, that's all the cultivations does, he learns to respond with love,

respond with peace, respond with understanding ,for himself, and all those

around, that may seem hokey that may seem sappy to some, but it leads to brotherly

love and people taking care of each other, versus emnity and treating other

people like they're objects. So that's why, that's why cultivate, that's why learn

the philosophy, that's why learning to master your focus, because then, you want

peace in the world, simple, do that, you will have peace in

your world. Every day and twice on Sunday, doubt me? see for yourself, I don't ask

for your faith , directly experience it for yourself by doing it. You have any

questions? if you want me to explain anything else to you, - please don't hesitate

you can leave a comment or hit like or you can write me an email at lao@fourdragonsschool.com

until then, we'll see you next time.

8 Foods You Should Eat Every Day - Duration: 16:44.

8 Foods You Should Eat Every Day

SPINACH.

It may be green and leafy, but spinach is no nutritional wallflower.

This noted muscle builder is a rich source of plant-based omega-3s and folate, which help reduce the risk of heart disease, stroke, and osteoporosis.

Bonus: Folate also increases blood flow to the nether regions, helping to protect you against age-related sexual issues.

And spinach is packed with lutein, a compound that fights macular degeneration.

Aim for 1 cup fresh spinach or 1/2 cup cooked per day.

Substitutes: Kale, bok choy, romaine lettuce.

Fit It In: Make your salads with spinach; add spinach to scrambled eggs; drape it over pizza; mix it with marinara sauce and then microwave for an instant dip.

Pinch Hitter: Sesame stir-braised kale.

Heat 4 cloves minced garlic, 1 Tbsp.

minced fresh ginger, and 1 tsp.

sesame oil in a skillet. Add 2 Tbsp.

water and 1 bunch kale (stemmed and chopped).

Cover and cook for 3 minutes. Drain.

Add 1 tsp. soy sauce and 1 Tbsp.

sesame seeds. YOGURT.

Various cultures claim yogurt as their own creation, but the 2,000-year-old foods health benefits are not disputed: Fermentation spawns hundreds of millions of probiotic organisms that serve as reinforcements to the battalions of beneficial bacteria in your body.

That helps boost your immune system and provides protection against cancer.

Not all yogurts are probiotic, though, so make sure the label says live and active cultures. Aim for 1 cup of the calcium and protein-rich goop a day.

Substitutes: Kefir, soy yogurt.

Fit It In: Yogurt topped with blueberries, walnuts, flaxseed, and honey is the ultimate breakfast—or dessert.

Plain low-fat yogurt is also a perfect base for creamy salad dressings and dips.

Home Run: Power smoothie.

Blend 1 cup low-fat yogurt, 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries, 1 cup carrot juice, and 1 cup fresh baby spinach for a nutrient-rich blast.

TOMATOES.

There are two things you need to know about tomatoes: Red are the best, because theyre packed with more of the antioxidant lycopene, and processed tomatoes are just as potent as fresh ones, because its easier for the body to absorb the lycopene.

Studies show that a diet rich in lycopene can decrease your risk of bladder, lung, prostate, skin, and stomach cancers, as well as reduce the risk of coronary artery disease.

Aim for 22 mg of lycopene a day, which is about eight red cherry tomatoes or a glass of tomato juice.

Substitutes: Red watermelon, pink grapefruit, Japanese persimmon, papaya, guava.

Fit It In: Pile on the ketchup and Ragú; guzzle low-sodium V8 and gazpacho; double the amount of tomato paste called for in a recipe.

Pinch Hitter: Red and pink fruit bowl.

Chop 1 small watermelon, 2 grapefruits, and 1 papaya.

Garnish with mint. CARROTS.

Most red, yellow, or orange vegetables and fruits are spiked with carotenoids—fat-soluble compounds that are associated with a reduction in a wide range of cancers, as well as reduced risk and severity of inflammatory conditions such as asthma and rheumatoid arthritis—but none are as easy to prepare, or have as low a caloric density, as carrots.

Aim for 1/2 cup a day.

Substitutes: Sweet potato, pumpkin, butternut squash, yellow bell pepper, mango.

Fit It In: Raw baby carrots, sliced raw yellow pepper, butternut squash soup, baked sweet potato, pumpkin pie, mango sorbet, carrot cake.

Pinch Hitter: Baked sweet potato fries.

Scrub and dry 2 sweet potatoes.

Cut each into 8 slices, and then toss with olive oil and paprika.

Spread on a baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes at 350°F.

Turn and bake for 10 minutes more.

BLUEBERRIES.

Host to more antioxidants than any other North American fruit, blueberries help prevent cancer, diabetes, and age-related memory changes (hence the nickname brain berry).

Studies show that blueberries, which are rich in fibre and vitamins A and C, also boost cardiovascular health.

Aim for 1 cup fresh blueberries a day, or 1/2 cup frozen or dried.

Substitutes: Acai berries, purple grapes, prunes, raisins, strawberries.

Fit It In: Blueberries maintain most of their power in dried, frozen, or jam form.

Pinch Hitter: Acai, an Amazonian berry, has even more antioxidants than the blueberry.

Try acai juice from Sambazon or add 2 Tbsp.

of acai pulp to cereal, yogurt, or a smoothie.

BLACK BEANS.

All beans are good for your heart, but none can boost your brain power like black beans.

Thats because theyre full of anthocyanins, antioxidant compounds that have been shown to improve brain function.

A daily 1/2-cup serving provides 8 grams of protein and 7.5 grams of fibre.

Its also low in calories and free of saturated fat.

Substitutes: Peas, lentils, and pinto, kidney, fava, and lima beans.

Fit It In: Wrap black beans in a breakfast burrito; use both black beans and kidney beans in your chili; puree 1 cup black beans with 1/4 cup olive oil and roasted garlic for a healthy dip; add favas, limas, or peas to pasta dishes.

Home Run: Black bean and tomato salsa.

Dice 4 tomatoes, 1 onion, 3 cloves garlic, 2 jalapeños, 1 yellow bell pepper, and 1 mango.

Mix in a can of black beans and garnish with 1/2 cup chopped cilantro and the juice of 2 limes.

WALNUTS.

Richer in heart-healthy omega-3s than salmon, loaded with more anti-inflammatory polyphenols than red wine, and packing half as much muscle-building protein as chicken, the walnut sounds like a Frankenfood, but it grows on trees.

Other nuts combine only one or two of these features, not all three.

A serving of walnuts—about 1 ounce, or 7 nuts—is good anytime, but especially as a postworkout recovery snack.

Substitutes: Almonds, peanuts, pistachios, macadamia nuts, hazelnuts.

Fit It In: Sprinkle on top of salads; chop and add to pancake batter; spoon peanut butter into curries; grind and mix with olive oil to make a marinade for grilled fish or chicken.

Home Run: Mix 1 cup walnuts with 1/2 cup dried blueberries and 1/4 cup dark chocolate chunks.

OATS.

The éminence grise of health food, oats garnered the FDAs first seal of approval.

They are packed with soluble fibre, which lowers the risk of heart disease.

Yes, oats are loaded with carbs, but the release of those sugars is slowed by the fibre, and because oats also have 10 grams of protein per 1/2-cup serving, they deliver steady, muscle-friendly energy.

Substitutes: Quinoa, flaxseed, wild rice.

Fit It In: Eat granolas and cereals that have a fiber content of at least 5 grams per serving.

Sprinkle 2 Tbsp.

ground flaxseed on cereals, salads, and yogurt.

Pinch Hitter: Quinoa salad.

Quinoa has twice the protein of most cereals, and fewer carbs.

Boil 1 cup quinoa in 2 cups of water.

Let cool.

In a large bowl, toss it with 2 diced apples, 1 cup fresh blueberries, 1/2 cup chopped walnuts, and 1 cup plain fat-free yogurt.

Are You a Builder or an Operator? PART 1 - Duration: 1:39.

Hello everyone, today we are going to speak about the builders.

There are different ways to characterize your team. One of them is to differentiate between

builders and operators. Builders are those people who very much like to start

new projects, they like to enter uncharted territories, to go and get new

customers, to do something that nobody has ever done. So they get extremely

great fulfillment by building something, starting something from the scratch,

laying the foundations, setting up the main structure. They are

usually very brave, very well self organized and they tend to think outside

of the box. However not to limit these great features that they possess, we

should not put them within the frame of bureaucracy, administration, hierarchy

which all are very typical for big organizations. So this kind of people

like to try, to test, they're like pioneers. So as a leader if we have this

kind of people in our team it's crucial to show them that we trust them,

that they can fail, that they have our support and they can fail fast, fail forward and

learn from it. The other type of people are the operators and about them we're

going to speak in the next video. Take care and be well!
