Waching daily Aug 4 2017

Hey, guys, this is Nabila

and we are from team ZeroMuse.

The reason we make this video today,

it's a very informal video and

we faced an incident recently

and we really would like to address it,

because

we talk on behalf of the other you tubers out there

and

I'm pretty sure many of you face it

and

this is completely disappointing for us

so

let me share the story...what happened.

On 28th July,

we released a video,

The video was

a funny interview with NSU VC.

And our video was getting shared pretty well.

We were getting good views as well.

Our views were increasing,

and suddenly

we see that

Globally

our video was ranked no.4

in you tube search

Which was a great thing for us. This is what we wanted.

But then

something happened

and Rossi will be sharing that incident with you

for which

all the disappointment and everything started.

So, what happened was

some people, some page

this page is not North South University authorized page

this page is run by few NSU students

what they did

They downloaded the video

from our you tube channel

on 29th July

night

They uploaded it on their page

without asking our permission,

without letting us know

And that video on 30th July

got like

So

it was a complete frustration for us !!

Let me tell you one thing

If I give you an university example

We all who are studying in universities,

we all know what plagiarism is.

when we write a paper or a thesis,

we are always asked

to give the references of the site

And if we do not mention the sites or the references,

then it is considered plagiarism.

and we get straight F,

that's for sure,

we do

Even I know some

Salman also knows

You might agree

I've a lot of friends

who for plagiarism

got straight F

So guys, whoever you are,

you did the same thing.

If you consider this university example,

you did plagiarism.

and and and,

now lets talk about copyright violation

what is copyright violation

Copyright violation is when you take someone's creation

and do not mention that particular person's identity

and don't include the link or references

and upload it in your page or somewhere else,

wherever it is,

if you upload it and do not tell

without that Creator's permission

That is a copyright violation

Whatever you did

you did a Crime

We had a conversation with the page admins

they were replying after 5 hours

They were replying us, for every message we gave them

they replied us after 5 hrs or 2 hrs 3 hrs

it felt like

we felt like, we you tubers

we you tubers have a low life

we have no life

we don't deserve respect

we are just street boys

we walk on the streets

whatever they did

they just made us feel like

we're just a bunch of

monkeys

or

tissue paper

they used us just like a tissue paper

ok

let me tell you

admins

I'm addressing this to the admins of that page

you don't know nothing about you tubing life

this is not an easy job

we the you tubers out there

to me, if I give my example, our example

for this video

I worked like 17-18 hrs every day

rest of the hrs

I sleep and I eat

how many hours are left?

If already my work consumes

17 hrs a day

how many hours do I have left?

this is how we worked

our studies and other stuffs

within this we had to study

and we have to make a content

we've to think about the content

we've to think how we're going to shoot

we've to think where we're going to edit

how we're going to edit

we've to think how the sequence will go

we've to think where we need to bump up the video*

& where we need to be flat

for everyone

it becomes interesting

which part we should focus more

we think about all these and work

when you guys did this

maybe you didn't think about it much

but because of this

what happened to us

let us tell you

for the thing that you did

the 23 K views which you got

that 23 K views was supposed to go to our channel

if it would come

this video would reach it's target

it would've ranked up

and globally people would watch it

not only us Bengalis

who live in Bangladesh would know our VC sir

Globally, everyone would know who our VC is

Yes, North South

is one of the best reputed university's of Bangladesh

people would know it Globally

why?

because, we've a VC like him

yes

our target was that

because of what you did

our 90 days hardwork

last 2 months

continuous sleepless nights

editing

and everything

completely got damaged

we've a lack of equipment

we've shortage of so many things

we don't have much tools for shooting

we work with great difficulties

but we still try

to bring out the perfection in a video though we've difficulties

What you did, it's not only for me

this is the first time for us

for ZeroMuse

we want to make sure

that this is the last time

not only for ZeroMuse

for all the you tubers out there

for all the creators out there

Don't publish anyone's work without taking their permission

you don't know

for you silly mistake

what big loss other person has to suffer

pls keep these stuffs in your mind

I believe

that you

are not a kid, that you may not understand these

just one thing I want to say and finish off

that is

since you took birth as a human

live with humanity

don't be inhuman being a human

i just want to

conclude* it this way that

it's not only for us

whoever you are

who have a business of your own

even if you're not a you tuber

if you've a business of your own

if you or the person who did this with us

who copied our video without mentioning our credits

without any consent

you bumped up your own page

suppose you had your own business

you have a page right ?

suppose you made something for your page

and if we or someones else

copied your video without your consent or did not give page credit

how would you feel?

you tell

kindly think about it

it really hurts!

somehow

someone else took your credits

What you were supposed to get

but instead of you someone else took it

it's complete stealing!

how would you feel?

next time

definitely we want people to share our video

but there are ways

there are lots of ways

either you share the video from the direct link

or you embed the video

and share it on our page

that is another way

or if you do, download the video, then upload it

we the creators do not prefer!

we have new videos coming up

you guys will share, why won't you

we make this for you all

am I right brother?

you guys share, no worries

share our video link

Pls try to respect each others work

no matter how big or small the work is

try to respect everyone's work

but

please

do share

do it in a proper way

and yes, since you run a page

go to google and get to know what is copyright violation

and what one should do in case of penalty

we're not taking any legal actions

we're not even mentioning your name

but we know who we're telling this & you know who you are

Thank you , That's it for today

You showed me you weren't

Just another open door

You showed me I could

Give back, but you took it all

You spent too long

Hiding frozen, always afraid

I'd rather be alone, alone

No more crying from the bedroom

No more empty bottles sippin' down with booze

Cause nobody can hear you, oh

Nobody can hear you, oh

You are a tree falling down in the woods

But there ain't a sound, 'cause no one's around

Nobody can hear you

Nobody can hear you, oh

Nobody can hear you

Smokin' your cigarette

Burning out till there's nothing left

I bared you my wounds

Yet you cut me deep, I can't forget

So I gave you up

Like a drug so high, then I came down

It's why I couldn't stay around, around

No more crying from the bedroom

No more empty bottles sippin' down with booze

Cause nobody can hear you, oh

Nobody can hear you, oh

You are a tree falling down in the woods

But there ain't a sound, 'cause no one's around

Nobody can hear you

Nobody can hear you, oh

Nobody can hear you

Nobody can, no

I can still hear you

Nobody can, no

I can still hear you

No more crying from the bedroom

No more empty bottles sippin' down with booze

Cause nobody can hear you, oh

Nobody can hear you, oh

You are a tree falling down in the woods

But there ain't a sound, 'cause no one's around

Del Mar Horse Race Trains: Train Talk Ep. 14 - Duration: 8:01.

Hello everyone and welcome to Train Talk!

The railroad between Los Angeles and San Diego, California, known as the "Surf Line" or

the LOSSAN Corridor, is the second busiest passenger rail line in the United States.

Coaster, Metrolink, and Amtrak Pacific Surfliner passenger trains as well as Union Pacific

and BNSF freight trains travel on portions or all of the line.

At various times of the year, this already very crowded rail line sees even more traffic

than usual.

One such time is the third week in July when the annual Del Mar Horse races typically begin.

In more recent years, San Diego's Comicon event has also been held on this same opening

weekend of the races, drawing even more people traveling on the train from Los Angeles and

Orange County to San Diego.

To accommodate the extra riders, Amtrak lengthens some of its train sets and adds some additional

trips to the schedule.

We are in Del Mar, California on top of a coastal bluff that overlooks the tracks.

This location is about 3 miles south of the Solana Beach train Station, which is where

racegoers typically disembark from the trains.

We are here to see several of the late morning trains as they bring people into town for

Comicon and the races.

The first train we see is number 568.

This is an extra train that has been added to the schedule.

The train runs Wednesday through Sunday of opening week.

An hour of extra time has been added to the trip due to the expected longer than normal

boarding periods at each station.

Train 568 is operating with a set of single level "Horizon" passenger cars and Amtrak's

last Dome car, the "Ocean View".

The dome car is available to passengers with business class tickets.

Back before Amtrak existed, the Santa Fe railroad would frequently run extra trains for people

traveling to and from the horse races.

In more recent years, Amtrak has also borrowed sets of commuter cars from Coaster and Metrolink

to run as extra trains on particularly busy weekends of the horse race season.

The next train we see is number 573.

This train is also running with a set of single level "Horizon" passenger cars.

Today, 573 is running almost an hour behind schedule.

Late running trains are a typical problem on these busier than normal days, as longer

than normal boarding times can lead to a chain reaction of delays throughout the system.

Appearing shortly after train 573, Pacific Surfliner 768 comes around the bend.

This is often the busiest train during the races and to handle the extra people, Amtrak

has added 4 additional coaches along with a second locomotive to the train.

Two privately owned rail cars are also along for the ride this morning, bringing this train

to an impressive 12 cars.

Number 768 is running a half hour late this morning, due in part to the extra cars being

added in Los Angeles.

Following this train's arrival into San Diego, the 6 extra cars and locomotive will

be taken off and held in San Diego until the evening.

Not too long after 768 has passed, another Amtrak train heads north.

This is train number 777, heading all the way to San Luis Obispo, the farthest point

north on the Surfliner route.

777 is running just 10 minutes late after being delayed by train 768.

In addition to Amtrak, Coaster also ran 2 extra trains in each direction on opening

day of the races.

This is extra train number 643, running 10 minutes behind schedule.

643 is running with 6 cars today instead of the usual 5.

Just 10 minutes later, regularly scheduled coaster train 645 makes an appearance.

The train is running with 6 cars and two locomotives today, a very unusual occurrence on Coaster

trains.

Recently, the Coaster locomotives have been suffering from a series of breakdowns.

It is likely that this extra locomotive is on the train today just incase there's a

problem.

In the late afternoon, we show up at the San Dieguito Lagoon to see the evening trains

as they take visitors back home.

On the other side of the lagoon are the Del Mar Fairgrounds and Racetrack.

The first train we see is Amtrak number 591.

This is the extra long Surfliner train returning to Los Angeles.

So far, it's only running about 10 minutes behind schedule this evening.

A little while later, Amtrak train 784 heads south across the lagoon, also running about

10 minutes late.

The train will be held at the siding here for northbound Coaster train 665.

The coaster set with two locomotives makes one more appearance on train 665 as it heads

into the fading evening light.

It is uncertain how much time these workhorses have left on the commuter railroad.

Replacements are likely just a few years away.

Finally, with the last light fading from the sky, northbound Amtrak extra train number

593 passes by.

The train continues toward Solana Beach and into the twilight.

From there, it will take racegoers home following another successful opening day at Del Mar.

Thanks for coming along for the ride to look at these special race trains.

If you have any questions or comments, be sure to leave those below.

Also, if you haven't already done so, be sure to subscribe to be notified of all my

video uploads.

That's it for now, Until next time, I'm Mike Armstrong.

I'll see you down the line!

Thanks for watching.

FAQ - What will my child's first visit to the dentist be like? | Dr. Terrance O'Keefe - Duration: 0:49.

Dr. Terrence O'Keefe: The first visit for a child in our practice is usually between

the age of two and three.

We don't really want to see them as their own individual little visit.

We want them to come in with their mom or dad during one of their cleaning visits to

kind of get used to us.

Many times, we find that children at that visit will be so curious.

They'll want to sit in the chair and they want to have their teeth polished.

We feel that's really a good way to introduce children to the office.

You Asked - What to eat on the Tempe campus - Duration: 1:05.

Hi I'm Casey Thomas, your Future Sun Devils correspondant

and you asked: what do you eat on campus?

Um, I usually go to the MU,

somewhere around Chick Fil A or Papa Johns.

Q'doba at the MU.

Barrett dining hall all the way.

Pita Pit in the MU.

There's a dining hall specifically for vegetarians

on the other side of campus, so that was nice.

Probably Einstein's.

At home, or make lunch at home and bring it to school.

My favorite is the gelato, actually.

Gelato.

The gelato, also.

What meal plan do you have?

The 12 meals a week at Barrett.

I have 14 meals a week.

I have the unlimited meal plan with 100 M&G.

Oh man, you're a big spender.

And then you also have Maroon & Gold dollars, can you

tell us how those work?

Yeah the M&G dollars are awesome.

What is the special benefit of Maroon & Gold dollars?

Um, it's free money.

Not for your parents, but for you.

What do you eat when you're on campus?

I think that says it all.

Sichuan roasted peanuts (drunkard peanuts) authentic Sichuan food recipe #28 酒鬼花生 - Duration: 2:50.

Hi, guys. Here is Yi.

Chinese love peanuts, but instead of spreading them on a piece of toast,

we like to have them as a snack while drinking beer or rice wine.

There is a Sichuan local snack called drunkard peanuts.

It might because the peanuts are soaked in alcohol before roasting

or simply because alcoholics tend to eat lots of them.

Take 400g of peanuts.

Soak them in cold water for about an hour to soften the skin.

Here are some of the spices I could find for my drunkard peanuts, but you could add more if you like:

2 star anise, a few cloves, a couple of dry ginger, one cinnamon stick,

a couple of Angelica, a tsp of red peppercorns, 1 tbsp of Sichuan peppercorns, 2 bay leaves and 1 fresh chili.

Take a small bowl and drop in all our spices, the fresh chilli needs to be thinly sliced before using.

Pour enough Chinese cooking wine or rice wine if it's available to you to cover all our spices.

Meanwhile, we can remove the skin of our peanuts, which can take a while.

Pour in the cooking wine and all our spices.

Season it with about 1 tbsp of salt.

Massage them with our hands until the salt is completely dissolved.

Now let's fry our peanuts.

Pour in about 1-2 tbsp of vegetable oil and turn the stove to medium low heat.

When the oil is still cold, pour our peanuts with all the spices into the wok, but without the fluid.

Then season it with about 1 tbsp of Chili powder which adds a bit more of the spiciness

and 1 tbsp of 5 spices powder or even 13 spices powder if you have.

Keep stirring it to prevent our peanuts from burning.

Until they turn golden brown, then we can serve them on a plate.

The peanuts are flavourful and crunchy with a hint of fragrant from the alcohol.

Ideolatry Video Blog - Episode 4 - Why? - Duration: 4:58.

Some of us like to think that we are independent

in our beliefs, our thoughts and our actions.

But is this really true?

I'm Dr Rich Masek, the author of Ideolatry,

God is Not Your Problem.

Today, I would like to explore the question, Why?

Why? is a big concept, and it can be unnerving

when your 2 year old learns to ask, Why?

every time you say something.

But have you ever really thought about

why you do what you do?

How about why you think what you think?

Or even more profound, why do you believe

what you believe?

Our humanity can be described as having 3 parts.

We are spirit beings that have a soul, and live in a body.

Our soul consists of our mind,

our will and our emotions.

These elements of our soul could also be called

our thinker, our chooser and our feeler.

The circumstances of our environment or

our Life Filters, might have a great deal

of influence on these parts of our being.

Beginning early in childhood,

Life Filters begin to form and shape you.

Where you were born,

the presence or absence of parents,

the presence or absence of siblings,

the influence of peers, and the

religious culture in which you were raised

are just a few of these dynamic factors.

All of these and more have a great effect

upon our physical lives, but they also affect the

development of our spirits.

As we go through life,

we accumulate a lot of internal stuff.

Some of it is good stuff and some of it is bad stuff,

like baggage weighing us down.

But the sum total of all of it is who we are and it also

leads us on to who we will become.

We observe what is going on in our environment

and we learn from those observations.

Then we develop a perspective

which we use to assess, act on, or react to,

situations and ideas that we encounter.

Our perspective also leads us to conclusions

that create a reality that we call our own

and this reality becomes our version of truth.

It consists of the various pieces of

personal truth that we accumulate.

Our acceptance of this personal truth

is the basis for the Why? of our lives.

This level of truth is also at the core of the term,

Ideolatry, because our personal truth may be

based entirely on our human intellect.

Is your Why? based on environmental perspectives,

or situational, relative truth?

Is this where you find the Why? of your life?

Filtering through our perceptions of truth and reality

that come from our physical observations and

experiences is a good thing to do.

And, at some point we may need to do some

"house cleaning," because, at our core,

we are spirit beings that only live in our physical bodies

for a short time.

Our physical reality is what we generally accept as truth.

But it may not be based on actual Truth, because there

is a higher level of Truth that

God reveals to us in the Bible.

God's Word provides us a way to do our house cleaning

and gain a different perspective of what truth is.

This perspective is based on God's truth, not the

subjective, situational and relative truth that can come

from religious traditions or our personal experiences.

My book, Ideolatry, God Is Not Your Problem,

The Character and Nature of God, was designed

to help you see your Why? based on

God's Absolute Truth and

not on your own subjective version of truth.

God makes it plain to us in the book of Isaiah,

Chapter 55, verses 8 & 9 when He says:

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts,

neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.

For as the heavens are higher than the earth,

so are my ways higher than your ways,

and my thoughts than your thoughts."

I invite you to read Ideolatry and gain a deeper

understanding of God's truth through His Word.

Check it out at ideolatry.com where you can read my

Blog and download a Free Chapter.

And please join me for the next episode

in which we will discover what telephones,

computers, the internet, smart phones, radios and TV's

have to do with you and your relationship with God.

'I miss you': Simon Cowell hints Cheryl's X Factor return as pair 'reconnect' - Duration: 3:14.

'I miss you': Simon Cowell hints Cheryl's X Factor return as pair 'reconnect'

WENN/ITV KISS AND MAKE UP: After feuding, the two are friends now.

The head judge of the ITV juggernaut told The Sun that the new mum-of-one had reached out to him over the last few weeks.

Speaking on the Bizarre podcast, the 57-year-old revealed: She got my number a couple of weeks ago, sent me a text, typical Cheryl, How are you, miss you, love to talk to you. I sent back a note, love to talk to you, lets catch up. Not a word back.

But that doesnt mean weve fallen out, its just our relationship. Simon famously feuded with the Girls Aloud beauty back in 2011 after she was unceremoniously dumped from the US version of The X Factor for Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger.

WENN/ITV DREAM TEAM: THe pair have worked on several series of The X Factor.

WENN BOSS: Simon has said Cheryls contacted him.

While some sources claimed it was due to her native Geordie accent that was hard for American viewers to understand, Simon has since placed the blame on her crazy orange and purple ensemble she wore on the first day of filming.

When I saw her, I didnt recognise her. The hair and the outfit were totally crazy, he previously told the Radio Times. Shed put on a bit of weight, but not loads. That wasnt the issue.

It wasnt Cheryl in that seat. Shed lost her confidence..

WENN CRAZY: Simon wasn;t a fan of this loud ensemble.

WENN HAPPY: Cheryl has since made up with Simon.

The pair stopped talking after her sacking, with Cheryl revealing in her autobiography My Story that she sent her former boss an expletive-riddled message. F**k Britain's Got Talent. F**k the orange and purple outfit. F**k the UK X Factor.

I understand you're a businessman, and what I've learned from this is that business means more to you than friendship." The pair have since kissed and made up, with Cheryl returning to the UK X Factor judging panel in 2014, alongside Simon, Louis Walsh and Mel B.

Instagram: cherylofficial LOVED UP: Cheryl is making her TV comeback on This Morning with Liam Payne. She has been touted to return as a judge in this years series, in a deal rumoured to be worth a cool £500,000.

Simon has dismissed the claims, laughing thats more than hes paid for the juggernaut – but has left the door open for her return.

He added: I think it would be good for her. Cheryl is currently planning a big TV comeback by announcing her first interview on This Morning, after giving birth to son Bear with toyboy beau, One Directions Liam Payne.

How Rick and Morty Teaches Us Economics | Nerdonomics #1 - Duration: 7:34.

Rick & Morty is the cult cartoon that chronicles the often catastrophic adventures of Rick

Sanchez, an alcoholic mad scientist, and Morty Smith, his anxious grandson.

If you know anything about the show, you know Rick has a way of really…

Cronenberging the world.

Boy, Morty.

I really Cronenberg'd the world up didn't I?

We got a whole planet of Cronenbergs walking around down there, Morty.

But is it possible that Rick is actually doing more good than harm… and can we explain

it with economics?

Today in Nerdonomics, we explore the free market, supply and demand, and invisible hands

with the help of Rick and Morty.

Let's get nerdy!

We all know Rick doesn't care about other people.

Sure, maybe deep down he loves his family

Or family means nothing, in which case, don't play that card.

But most of the time, he is a reckless, selfish individual who doesn't care about anyone…

so, could he actually be good for everyone?

First we need to talk about the free market.

When you hear people complaining about capitalism.

Well yeah, fast food gives people diabetes and clothing stores have sweatshops.

Is there a company hiring teenagers that isn't evil.

They're usually talking about some version of a free market economy where price is totally

controlled by the law of supply and demand.

The Law of Supply and Demand basically means that if demand is greater than supply, price

increases….

And if demand is less than supply, price decreases.

In the free market, producers trying to make the most money and consumers trying to spend

the least end up dictating what gets made, who makes it, and how much to pay for it.

In the real world, no purely free market exists because we have government regulations but…

the government doesn't mean much in Rick and Morty.

Watch closely as grandpa topples an empire by changing a one to a zero.

Take a look at the season one episode Something Ricked This Way Comes.

Summer gets a parttime job at Needful Things - a vintage thrift shop whose owner is literally

the Devil.

You work for the Devil!

So what?

So what?!

This aftershave makes a man quite irresistible to women, free of charge.

One never pays here!

Not with money!

Nothing to read into there!

Now this brings up a good point: In economics, everything has a cost.

The thing is, there are a lot of different types of costs.

The one you're used to, the money that leaves your pocket when you buy something, is the

explicit cost.

But there's also opportunity cost, which is what you lose out on by choosing one option

over another.

This aftershave made women want me, but it also made me impotent!

A price for everything, Mr. Goldenfold.

Now, Goldenfold pays no explicit cost; but, by purchasing it - choosing to take the aftershave

instead of leaving it, he loses the ability to raise supply to satisfy demand.

But in a free market, you can only torment consumers for so long before demand goes down

and they try to find a superior product.

Either it does the same thing for a lower cost.

Or it does something even better.

I haven't learned a thing!

Enter, Curse Purge Plus.

A storefront set up by Rick because he was bored and wanted to cause some trouble for the devil.

Wubba lubba dub dub!

Now we can look into how Rick affects the supply and demand of Needful Things using….

A SUPPLY AND DEMAND GRAPH.

That's beautiful!

You know it's going to be wearing you in 3 hours.

Each point on the blue line represents the number of units people are willing to buy

at that price.

For the sake of this video, let's assume that the benefit of each Needful Thing has

the same value.

Now if we order the different prices you find an obvious pattern emerges, the lower the

price, the more units people are willing to buy.

Now let's switch the perspective to the producer - the devil.

Remember, everything has a cost, even for the devil, he can't just conjure these cursed

goods out of thin air.

So, each point on the red line dictates how many units he can make at the given price.

Where these two lines meet is called the equilibrium.

And thanks to that, we can actually calculate the consumer and producer surplus.

Now surplus usually means having too much of something, but economic surplus is kinda

different.

It measures participants' welfare in a transaction.

For consumers, it's paying less than what you expected, or were willing to pay, and

for producers, it's selling for more.

For example, this person was willing to run until they died but instead they only had

to make murders real.

Now, notably in real life, surplus is measured in money but this is a cartoon analogy.

Anyway when Curse Purge Plus enters the market, something interesting happens and it's because

of how the Devil charges for his products.

Don't pay for cool stuff with your soul, pay for it with money.

Y'know?

Like how every other store in the world works.

All of the devil's surplus depends on people getting cursed, but thanks to Rick, the "price"

of the good drops down to zero.

So, let's look at that graph again.

Now all of the Needful Things are priced in a way that every consumer is willing to buy it.

Oh is there a limit?

And the Devil is literally… at a loss.

In his simple act of self-interest, Rick creates a service that dramatically increases consumer surplus.

This guy got mysterious sneakers that make him run faster, but guess what?

He would've had to run until he died.

And that, my friends, is the invisible hand of the market at work.

You're welcome.

Adam Smith, the grandpapi of modern economics, coined the term in his book The Theory of

Moral Sentiments where he states, "The rich...are led by an invisible hand to make nearly the

same distribution of the necessaries of life, which would have been made, had the earth

been divided into equal portions among all its inhabitants, and thus without intending

it, without knowing it, advance the interest of the society…"

In other words, the invisible hand is the unintended benefits of an individual's self

motivated actions.

And rick is a really… self motivated individual…

To me this was all just a bit, like when Bugs Bunny f***s with the opera singer for 20 minutes.

Maybe even too self motivated.

Are you kidding me, Morty?

You're gonna try and take the high road on this one?

Y'see another 17th century economist named Bernard Mandeville is most famous for his

book The Fable of the Bees whose thesis is that "Fraud, Luxury, and Pride must live;

Whilst we the Benefits receive" It's called Mandeville's Paradox and basically

it means that the vicious, the selfish, and the vein are necessary and maybe even more

beneficial to society's advancement than acts of virtue and kindness.

And let me tell you, this caused some 17th century DRAMA.

Economists were ready to fight.

Even Smith dedicated a chapter in his book to roasting Mandeville.

Literally.

A chapter.

It reads like a tumblr callout post.

And it's strange because Mandeville's Paradox and the invisible hand seem similar

enough - that personal actions can reap societal rewards.

But it all comes down to a question that seeps in through the seams of every episode of Rick

and Morty, and every one of my existential crises, and it is… why?

Why does Rick do the things he does?

If you agree with Mandeville, you'll find that the most self-interested people tend

to have the most influence.

They get stuff done.

So for all of Rick's unsavoury behaviour

Hi everybody, I'm Ri- [burps]

He's the most likely saviour for humanity.

On the other hand, Smith and his invisible hand believes that all people are being guided

to improve the world.

And no matter how selfish they think their motivations are, there's someone… some

invisible hand, pulling the strings making them help everyone.

So in review, we know that in a free market, the law of supply and demand decide the price

which you may not pay with money.

And that in economics, being a little selfish may just be a good thing.

But… what do you think?

Is Rick just a force of chaotic and coincidental good, or does he have a secret heart being

tugged on by an invisible hand to do some good?

How to Make a Handmade Rainstick | Sophie's World - Duration: 9:44.

hi I'm Sophie and welcome to my world today I'm going to teach you how to take

the lowly pool noodle and turn it into an amazing rain stick and all you need

are a few little things and I'm gonna teach you how to make it right now for this

project you'll need a pool noodle with a hole through the center scissors an

exacto knife parchment paper duct tape rice two large

wine corks toothpicks a work surface and a small paper cup figure out where you

want to cut your pool noodle and again make sure your pool noodle has a hole in

it this is super super important if it doesn't have the hole it's not going to

work now if you go to my website www.sophie-world.com I have the rain stick also

done with insulation foam so if you can't find a pool noodle you could

always use insulation foam so what I like to do when I'm cutting my pool noodles

is I like to use one of these exacto knives that actually they're actually I

think technically called box cutters but you can

scooch the blade out as far as it will go and start your cut and then just turn

your pool noodle and that's going to ensure that it cuts all the way through

and makes a nice even cut that's how I usually cut mine okay first thing first

you're going to need about 15 to 20 of these fabulous toothpicks but thing

about it is you don't want that sharpness on your toothpicks so what

you're going to do is you can line them up four or five at a time and I would

suggest some adult supervision for this but you're going to just cut those

points off like this take your scissors and they just cut off really easily but

again an adult might want to do this depending on how young your Artistes are

I've got a whole bunch of them here ready to go first thing first take a

cork and this is very important you need to make sure that your cork seals in

there nice and tight now if your cork is loose you can always just

add some duct tape around it until it makes it nice and tight you want to get

that in there so that it's nice and solid and here's another little trick if

you accidentally push it in just use a dowel to push it out like that a nice

long dowel will do yeah so I'm going to insert the cork into one end here and

then as you can see I don't know if you can see right in there the cork is about

to right here so beyond that point I'm just going to start placing these

toothpicks and I like to put them into kind of crosshatch techniques so I go in

the side and then I go in the top and I'm going all the way through now if you

do end up using insulation foam you're going to need to make your toothpicks

shorter because a pool noodle is nice and thick and unfortunately the insulation

foam is not as thick I'm just going to keep doing this technique it's kind of

almost like a little ladder I'm just going up now remember this if you're

doing this project with small kids don't don't get terribly worried about you

know this being this exact structure to the ladder technique here that we're

using I mean they can stick them in at any angle really I mean

it doesn't really matter what you're basically trying to do is create

little pegs for your rice to fall against and when it falls and gets

caught on it it's going to make that really cool sound so again they don't

really have to go in in any special way but one thing you do want to make sure

that you don't do too many if you do do like 50 of them then then the rice won't

even be able to get through you got to make sure that you'd leave some space

now I'm not sure if you can see in there but you can see down can you see in

there you can see the technique of the cross hatching at all

now what we're going to do is add some rice now make sure this is nice and

secure and you don't need much half of this little cup here will do

excuse me about a quarter of it you really don't need that much and you just

squeeze the top here and pour it in now if you don't have corks if you don't

live in an area that has corks you can always take pieces of your pool noodles

and you can push those in then cut off the extra and then tape the outside

which I'll show you in just a second but I do have a cork so I am going to cork

it shut get back in there I'm just going to test it and make sure

that it has a nice sound if I feel like I need to add more rice at this point I

could but I think it sounds pretty good so I'm just going to push my cork in all

the way now we're at a stage where you get to have fun which is to decorate

with duct tape and what I do want to show you is how you make sure to seal

your ends here so when you take your duct tape you want to make sure that

you're making your piece of duct tape and I'm going to go long ways with mine

but feel free to decorate yours any way that you want but I'm going long ways

I'm going to give myself an inch and a half at either end just going to smooth

this down I'm going to smooth it down and then what I'm going to do is take

this piece flip it over sticky side is up and I've got my exacto

knife here I'm just going to make some cuts

with my exacto knife long-wise so that I can then take these pieces and

just lay them down on the top portion of the rainstick here

see like that and then I would come to the other side do the same thing over

here and I just continue adding lots and lots of stripes of tape so that it ends

up with this pretty look the last thing you're going to have to do is seal off

the ends so to do that what I'm going to do is actually make myself a duct tape

sticker which is why I needed that parchment paper I'm going to make mine

yellow here so you can see it and this is going to lock in all those little

pieces at the end that we had now I'm going to need four pieces of tape here

I'm going to make these about three inches long and what I'm going to make

is a double sided sticker and it doesn't need to be very big it only needs

to be as big as my pool noodle here so I only need a little bit of this

parchment so take a piece of your tape lay it down and take your second piece

and like we do with regular duct taping overlap see that just make sure you

overlap flip this over and line up your pieces so that you end up with a mirror

image on the backside okay tape on front tape on backs now if you don't have an

extra little piece like this you can always use your rain stick but I've got

this nice little piece here and you can mark this with a Sharpie pen if you

wanted to but I've got mine marked with my finger here or I can also just take

my little piece just cut around and what I'm doing is cutting a two-sided sticker

just cutting it all the way around and then what's great about this is because

of the parchment paper it just peels right off and then I can place this on

the end and seal off my rain stick on both ends and there you have it you've

turned a pool noodle into a rain stick now if you like this idea make sure you
