Waching daily Mar 27 2018

hello everyone this is the Lego Star Wars solo movie han solo's land speeder

set it's basically a 1968 Dodge Charger in

space seriously Google that you'll see what I mean

within the Star Wars universe this draws a lot of parallels to Luke's land

speeder from a new hope although this one in real life is inspired by the

stylistic design choices of American vehicles and architecture of about a

decade later than Luke speeder was interestingly the design of this thing

is asymmetric so it's fully cowled off or mostly cowled off on one side I could

just imagine that this was the original design maybe not including this section

here it probably would have been completely smooth when it was originally

built and then this side has been kind of broken off and has lost some of its

body panels so you're seeing some of the frame work and some of the the plumbing

inside from there it's not a particularly difficult build to assemble

just following the instructions but it does have a lot of studs on the side

construction which gives it interesting shapes

it felt basic to put it together but the end result is a little bit advanced in

terms of the design choices that were made even the sections on the base of

the vehicle were built with studs on the side construction so you'll see some

items with the studs facing outwards or covered up studs and placed on their

sides so overall I think that the the build experience was enjoyable though

fairly simple and the end result is pleasing to the eye one thing that I

don't like about this is the use of the light grey bracket piece right there I

think that was done in black or dark grey would look better and just would

have allowed the whole wing section to be a little bit more smooth now this has

a number of play features or things that can be changed on it or

move it around you can see the spring-loaded shooter under there they

have one on either side fire those off from the back when you do have those

loaded in there the tail stick way out which is really easy for playing really

easy to be you know driving this thing from the back and then just fire it

whenever you want but does not look particularly good so if you don't like

the look of it just leave it out or leave it just half way in so the tail is

kind of buried in there like it was when I started out the video also this has

wheels on it not sure if you noticed but there are little things sticking out

down under there there's one right there and the other one at the back you can't

even see it's it's hidden away the most low-profile installation of wheels I

think I've ever seen on a lego set nicely hidden away so it allows you to

roll the thing around they're small and they're hard so you can still slide it

around from side to side and yeah it just helps you know it just allows you

to move this around more easily than having it flat on the ground or with

inverted slopes you also have a removable hood here which is fairly

large the fan style details the vents on the tops are printed pieces and you get

one of those relatively new curved 1 by 2 plates with the hollow studs and then

they've got some suggestion of what's supposed to be analogous to an engine

here might be a repulsor field generator or something perhaps but interestingly

enough that's actually designed to be removed you can just pull that up as an

entire assembly take that out so you can pretend that you need to do some

maintenance on this thing and it comes with its own toolkit I mean it's it's

just a wrench with a pry bar at one end but you know wash it to get into some

some roleplay of actually working on the thing I don't know if this is supposed

to be fuel over here or maybe coolant it kind of looks like an antifreeze

overflow tank to me so I'm going with that

it also has storage for an extra spring-loaded shooter bolt on one side

at the back is an interesting small in the future you can remove this now

maybe that's supposed to be like a reactor core there something related to

energy generation or recovery it's actually a refuse container trash bin on

its side they're interesting little little mounting there again more studs

on the side construction it's just absolutely everywhere but you know it's

nice to be able to play with this thing to have it pretend to be broken down and

have to work on it and you can get two different components of it

the cockpit area of this to me is pretty perfect it's a really nice layout it

looks somewhat luxurious you know it's got that nice tan finish on the inside

they actually have tan colored regular minifigure seats that's great to see

you've got a little bit of space behind those seats it's like a 2+2

configuration so you can put some weapons or other accessories back there

and they also have little spaces due to the extra horizontal spacing you've got

little slots in between the drivers in the center console or the passenger and

driver and center console to put a blaster in there which makes even more

sense because then it's a lot easier for the figure to get to it I mean you're

not actually gonna grab it from there in real life but you know it just looks

right and I like the printed pieces they're nothing new but they look good

and they are well placed and you get the yoke style steering as well so that's

just all good if you ask me this figure of young Han Solo is really interesting

to me because I personally don't think the actor they got to play young Solo in

the movie looks enough like a younger version of Harrison Ford but this figure

I feel strikes a a perfect middle ground between looking like that actor it's

close enough and looking like a young Harrison Ford the part of it part of

that it gets from the hair piece which you know is shared with the the adult

the normal form of solo the Harrison Ford solo versions

in the most recent renditions so I think that helps but yeah just I think this

ends up being a better figure than the actor is for solo for a young solo so I

like that the print on the legs doesn't look that great to me I have to see how

that turns out in the movie I think it probably shouldn't look a little bit

more dusty and then the print on the back of the torso it doesn't look that

great to me it's just very very blocky with the splotches of dirt and such this

is the alternate face when you just swap the hair around you see how that kind of

frames up the face that also looks really good now this to me looks a

little bit more like the the actor does but there's still some some Harrison

Ford in this like a younger version of Harrison Ford so again I think they did

really really well with the face body is OK I like the front torso print but the

other prints not so much just for me right now I can just imagine him saying

I've got a good feeling for what this the Kirra figure looks absolutely

appropriate to me nice new hairpiece it's a little bit realistic but it still

fits that Lego aesthetic I think the choice of faces is good I like the torso

print maybe it's a little bit simple but it's not bad and I think the leg print

and also hip printing for this one looks a little bit better to me personally

just with this this layout for the the wear patterns and the dirt patterns a

little bit simple on the back of the torso notice that the color for the

torso arms is the metallic silver color not a grey and then her alternate face

is a smile and there's how that looks with the hair framing it up again I

think it just works so no complaints about this one from me last but not

least here is the one Karelian hound included in this set what an awful

looking thing that is I say that with utmost respect and admiration it's

supposed to look evil it's a really simple build here from

Lego being just one piece no articulation just a little bit of print

on it you know just to get the nostrils the eyes and the teeth they could have

done more print on it to get more you know like feathering detail in the fur

and such they didn't do that and I think it's fine

I like the mold I like the ridges along the back

I think the proportions look pretty good of course it would be would have been

nice to get this in an articulated form even just a little bit but I think it's

okay for its size this is more than acceptable and I think a lot of people

will like this although it may be a little bit divisive but I think it's

about right for a lego model of this creature I think this is a pretty

well-done set I have to think of it from the perspective of the designers job the

designers tasks and goals I feel like the goals were met with this I think

that the the proportions are good the overall realism is very good for a lego

model especially for something that again is so easy to put together the

price depart ratio is fine the price to volume of stuff ratio in terms of like

just how much I see here in front of me is is okay relative to some other

roughly $30 US vehicle sets in in recent times I wouldn't mind if it was a little

bit cheaper given that it's just one vehicle but you do have to pay for the

extra detail of things like the opening hood and the detail inside of there

which is in my opinion better than it needs to be but again I'm not

complaining because it's really nice that removable whatever that's supposed

to be am I'm going to call it a repulsor field generator but call it an engine

call whatever you like eventually you will get a cutaway official explanation

of it I like this little thing back here it's it's a nice small simple build you

get the action features of being able to shoot things but if you don't like those

leave them out and it does nothing to hurt the design of this you know the

fact that those spring-loaded shooters are integrated into it so there's really

nothing here that was done poorly in my opinion and again that figure is good

that figure I think is better than the real-life huge figure just in terms of

how they look so that's it for my thoughts on this one feel free to share

what you think in a comment down below and I'll talk to you in soon

5 Things Designers FORGET To Do In Illustrator - Duration: 6:31.

today I'm gonna give you guys five things that designers commonly forget

we're working in Illustrator so see how many of these five things you have

actually forgotten yourself in your graphic design workflow what is that

people is Thomas cetera graphics back again with another graphic design tip

video today I'm going to show you guys five things that people with designers

commonly forget when working at a bit straighter so follow along in today's

video and see how many of these things you forget will have forgotten on your

graphic design projects before we start I quickly want to remind you guys that

if you wanna help out my channel video centauri graphics head over to my

teespring store and check out my prints and t-shirts that you can purchase to

show your appreciation who I'm doing here it's a toy graphics also if you

missed yesterday's video on how to design a logo using the shape that at

all go back and check that out on my channel but this is a really cool video

on the no design process using the shape that at all the first thing that

designers often or commonly forget to do an illustrator release the funds

so when saving your design illustrator for print or on a PDF for example you

want the phone to be recognized on whatever device is going to be sent to

the first way to do this in this traitor is to select the font and then go up to

type and create outlines this is going to essentially turn the font into a

vector shape it's always ideal to save two versions of your designs in

Illustrator if you apply this method one design with your fondest fonts and the

other version is the font being outlined this is so that you can edit the tags at

later dates the other method would be to embed in packages of fonts with the

design files when you send them for printing either way some designers do

forget this little step in the printing process

the next commonly forgotten process illustrates a release of strikes for

this example we're gonna look at this logo design here if you have strokes on

your design you're gonna want to need to expand them all to do this simply select

the object and then go up to object and expand either need to select the stroke

option we do this because when you send your final artwork for print you want to

minimize the possibility of errors occurring with the strokes expanded the

clients not going to be able to edit the artwork but the design can be reproduced

and scaled to any size without errors occurring like I said in the last point

you should save two versions of the artwork one that you can edit and then

the final artwork which is print ready

third thing that designers often forget to do illustrator relates to color for

print most people will save their work as CMYK

this is completely fine in most cases but again we want to limit the areas

when sending a final artwork to be reproduced to globally

we can convert the same way colormode of an object to universally known Pantone

color to do this select the object to then go up to edit edit colors and

refill artwork click the icon here and locate the color books and then the

Pantone solid and coat it click OK and illustrator will then convert a specific

object to the closest possible Pantone match if you now see in the color window

the color is panto instead of seeing make a

the fourth thing that designers commonly forget to the administrator is not

paying enough attention to the in-depth quality of a design itself this lady

looks finder from afar but if i zoom in by pressing command or control + on the

keyboard you might find some anomalies like this here we can use a direct

selection tool to amend anomalies like so

also you may want to select multiple areas of design with shift and then

unite them in a Finder window this gets rid of allowing areas on your design

lastly you can select your design and go up to object path and clean up this is

going to ask illustrator to check the design or the vector path for areas that

can be tidied up and as you can see here I didn't actually have any areas that

need tidying up and lastly this is a big one is something every single one of us

has fallen victim to at some point that is not saving your work that often you

must do this because illustrator could decide to quit on you randomly but if

you do have a decent machine this is gonna be very rare but the reality is

you never know when it's gonna happen so it's a great idea to save your work

every half an hour or so so there is today's video on five things

silence commonly forget wrong making a David Lee straighter let me know how

many of these things you have forgotten and your design workflow and if you

enjoyed today's video like and share my content if you do find it useful and of

course subscribe to tuturro graphics if you haven't done already I'm here four

days a week commonly Monday to Friday most of the

times is Monday Tuesday Thursday and Friday with my day off being Wednesday

also give me your suggestions for future videos and your opinions on my channel I

take pride in making my content useful for you guys to learn and pick up skills

using Adobe Illustrator and other various things in graphic design so guys

until next time design your future today peace

What is in a Build in Common Toolkit and how can it help you? - Duration: 3:02.

(Upbeat music)

- Hi guys.

You're probably wondering exactly what's in the Toolkit.

Well, we thought we'd take you step-by-step

to actually understand what we've created for you.

To start with,

you'll actually learn how to create your project brief.

- We also give you the

how to evaluate different quotes and the different prices

that are going to come across your table.

And give you an understanding of the jargon

that you're going to hear as part of the quotes,

as part of the conversation.

How do you evaluate your choices?

And how do you make a decision

on all the different options

that are going to come your way?

- Also, how to actually learn to read your drawings

on your projects

so you understand what's actually being built.

Also, who the contractors or builders will be

coming on your site

and the trades and exactly what they'll be doing

and when they're going to be doing it.

- It's about deconstructing that build-cycle for you.

Understanding from the moment you decide

you want to do your project,

what is going to happen,

what sequence is it going to happen in,

and who is going to do what.

Because that is going to calibrate your expectations

and you're going to feel far more confident

asking all the right questions.

That's all in the Toolkit.

- Exactly.

So we're really taking you from the beginning

to the middle,

to the end of your project.

- Years ago when I started renovating,

this is what usually would happen.

You'd end up with a pile of documents,

plans, quotes, business cards

from all the trades, all the builders,

and all the showrooms that you visit.

And they create this big pile somewhere in your house,

and you're desperately looking for things

when you need it.

So, instead of taking that approach,

we want you to learn from our mistakes in the past.

We've created a wonderful, physical toolkit

that puts everything together in one project folder for you.

You've got easy to find information

of all the different steps that we just spoke about,

as well as those handy places

to put your plans, your business cards, your quotes.

Even a USB

so if you've got your online quotes

that are coming through,

save them on your USB,

create your warranties, your certificates.

Put it all together so at the end of the project build,

you will always know where all your documents sit.

- We've taken away your third drawer.

- There's lots of choices that you have

when you're building and renovating.

So you can have five different options available

through our Toolkits.

Kitchen renovations, bathroom and laundry,

new builds, if you're building a whole new house,

extension Toolkits

or developing and subdividing.

All of these come in individual Toolkits of your choice,

in hard-copy version or electronically.

All you need to do is jump online

and choose which one suits you best.

Now don't forget,

the project kit comes with a whole heap

of additional resources

that are going to make your life easier.

The electronic one is a simple downloadable Toolkit,

available now.

- So hop online and join our community.

own individual IP address offered by Dedicated IP servers.

Clicking one of the segments in the section will open up a more detailed menu for that

specialty server type.

Here you can quickly connect to the server that is best for you based on our quick connect

algorithm.

You can also see all other servers of this type, which can be sorted by being best for

you according to multiple factors - alphanumerically or by distance.

You can also add a server to your favourites for quick access in the future by clicking

the heart button next to it.

In the Countries & Servers section, the servers are grouped by the country they are located

in.

Each segment of the section has a quick connect button which will connect you to the best

recommended server in that country.

Like in the previous section, you can also click on the segment name to open a detailed

menu for the servers in that country.

Again, you can Quick connect to the best recommended server, see all other servers which can be

This is how you can disable automatic update in iPhone over cellular data - Duration: 1:35.

Hello everyone and welcome to my YouTube channel and today in this video we will see how to

disable automatic download of update for the application in your iPhone over cellular data.

Now this will help you to save mobile data in your iPhone.

You can only download the update for the application over WiFi network.

Now for that one we will go to "Settings".

Then we will scroll down and then go to "iTunes & App store".

Scroll down.

Under "Automatic Downloads" updates are enabled.

That means whenever there is an update for any application it will download automatically

and here is an option "use cellular data".

Just disable it.

So, once you do this one then the download will be updated only over WiFi network not

over cellular data.

Peace Devotions - Can You Resist Temptation? - Duration: 2:47.

How good are you at resisting temptation? If you see that cookie on the counter do

you just pick it up and eat it? If you see that image on your screen do you

just go ahead and click it? How good are you at resisting temptation? If we're

honest we have to admit that there are maybe some things that we can resist, but

others that were just terrible. We may not gossip about others but we'll

look after them and lust sexually. We may keep our anger in check but we'll lie

without thinking. We are terrible at resisting temptation. But thanks be to

God he sent Jesus to overcome Satan and sin and win a victory for us. In the book

of Hebrews chapter 4 we read

God sent Jesus to overcome temptation for us. Jesus wasn't showing us how to

get it done he was doing it for us. So because we gave into temptation Jesus

didn't. Because we followed temptation and sin Jesus resisted temptation and

lived a holy and pure life. He did it for us. So now by faith you are

credited with Jesus' perfect life. God doesn't see how you have failed. God

doesn't see your weaknesses. They're all covered in Jesus. So approach his throne

of grace and receive mercy in your time of need. God also promises that he gives

us the Holy Spirit to fight against Satan and sin. May God grant you a rich

measure of that spirit as you fight your own battles in life but be assured that

the victory doesn't depend upon you. Jesus won it for you. Amen.

Letting the Dice Settle Group Decisions in D&D - DM Tips - Duration: 4:50.

Hey, Luke Hart here!

I don't know about you, but in my D&D games sometimes it seems like decision making can

take FOREVER.

And the more players you have, the more they'll analyze every option and agonize over which

is the best decision to take.

Now, in one respect, this is a GOOD thing because it means they are engaged with the

game and the story and they want to take the best course of action – the course of action

that leads to success.

However, there reaches a point where enough –

Is enough.

[Jim Bob] Look, we can't just go in the front door.

They'll expect that.

[Alexis] We should sneak in the back!

I have proficiency in thieves' tools!

I can pick the lock!

[Timmy] No, that'll never work.

Clearly there is one good solution here, and that's to go to the War Wizards and they

will teleport us into the guild hall!

[Timmy deliberately wipes slobber from face.]

[Timmy] And that's what we should do.

[Jim Bob] No, no, no!

It will not work!

[Alexis] Look, you guys, you have to trust me on this one.

If we go in through the back, they will never expect it.

It's the most logical thing to do.

[Timmy] I swear, I get so tired of you guys and your really dumb ideas.

[Jim Bob freaking out.]

Hey!

You!

We can't just – That's insane!

No, that's just not going to work.

[More freaking out.]

[Alexis] Everybody's guarding the front door.

Who's in the back?

Who do you think is in the back?

I'll tell you who's in the back: the kitchen!

The kitchen's in the back, and inside the kitchen are the cooks.

And the cooks are not armed.

What do they have, cleavers?

Are they really going to attack us with cleavers?

No!

[Timmy] This is the stupidest thing in the world.

No, you're going to blow everything up with lockpicking, Alexis.

And, Jim Bob, you're a moron!

Go through the front door?

You guys are idiots!

The best thing to do is to use magic to get in there.

We go to the war wizards over there, and they can teleport us in there, lickedie split.

[DM] So….what do you want to do then?

[Jim Bob] No!

This is not going to work!

[freaking out] [Timmy] Remember that time you tried to pick

a lock on something?

It was on a chest.

And you know what happened to the chest?

It blew up!

So clearly that's not a good idea.

[Alexis] You don't have to worry about that.

I'm telling you, if we go into the back, I will pick the lock, and everything will

be okay.

Why won't you listen to me?

[Timmy] No, we're not going into the front door either, that's just dumb.

[Alexis] Don't talk over me!

Listen to me when I'm talking to you!

[Jim Bob] Oooooohhhhh!

Is that enough B-roll yet?

[DM, dumbfounded, staring alternatingly at players.]

I mean, at some point, the DM has to step in right?

Because if he doesn't, the players can go on like this for a long time.

A really long time!

I once watched a game session here on YouTube where the players literally spent – and

I mean literally in the literal definition of literally, not the figurative definition

of literally – whatever that is.

The players literally spent two hours discussing among themselves if they were going to make

a deal with the bad guy or fight him.

And here's the thing, only two or three of the eight players were actually engaged

in the conversation.

The other 6 or so were quiet almost the entire two hours.

And I imagine the dialogue in their heads was something like, "Gee I wish we could

do anything – anything at all! – besides sit here talking about this."

My mind was blown away by this, so I posted a comment along the lines of, "Hey DM, why

didn't you step in and do something to speed things along?"

His response?

[odd voice] "That's just part of the game."

(This is my dumbfounded look.

Like it?)

I don't know.

That just doesn't cut it for me.

I maintain that a DM should not allow decision making to dominate table time.

There are too many other parts of the game that are much more fun to let decision making

unnecessarily eat up your table time.

There reaches a point – and you'll know it when it happens – that a decision – any

decision – needs to be made in order to move the game forward.

And you'll know when you're there.

It might be five minutes.

It might be fifteen minutes.

It might be a half hour.

But when you get there, it's time to do something to move the game forward.

So, this is what I do in my games when I feel the players have discussed their options enough

and a course of action needs to be decided upon.

Players in favor of option A roll d12s [dice clattering] and you add the them up.

Players in favor of option B roll d12s [dice clattering] and you add them up.

Finally players who want option C roll.

[die clattering] Whichever group gets the highest total wins,

and the entire party takes that course of action.

This method gives weight to the majority, but also provides the chance that the minority

will get their way.

It's not a perfect method -- But it sure beats sitting at a table for two

hours discussing what you should do next.

(another classic dumbfounded face – I'm good at these)

If you liked this video, and you want to support more of them, consider checking out my adventure

"Prisoners of the Drow" over on DriveThruRPG.

Link in description.

It's pay what you want, so you can toss me a buck or two if you'd like.

No big deal.

I've also begun work on the sequel to that adventure, "Into the City of Spiders"

where the PCs need to infiltrate a drow stronghold in a drow city.

I don't have a definite timeline for that, but hopefully I should have it done soon-ish.

So stay tuned!

Anyway, let me know in the comments how YOU handle players talking forever to make decisions.

Also, please let me know if there are specific topics you'd like to see me cover in the

future.

Until next time…

Let's play D&D! [catchy music :D ]

Future Focus Lab: Driving Purposeful Change - Duration: 2:32.

I'm Philippa Kay, I'm a Business Development Manager on the Future Focus programme, Unlocking Potential.

Hi i'm Matt Hocking, founder and director of Leap, a

design studio based in St. Austell with a local to global client base and we are a

B-Corporation. We're the first B-Corporation in cornwall and we've got a

team of seven all using our business for good. Well we're at Wheal Kitty in

St. Agnus, which is a wonderful collective of businesses here and I wish my own

business was here, and and we're going to be talking for Future Focus Lab for

Unlocking Potential on what it is to be a BCorp really.

The Future Focus Labs are essentially a small group of

businesses that come together as a peer group working together in a sort of a

workshop environment but much more relaxed and much more creative that sort

of teacher-led environment and the idea is that we create a network of

businesses that can learn from each other as well as generally be steered by

the facilitator, who will be an expert on the topic that we happen to be working or

talking around at the time. You know, a fresh pair of eyes looking at a business

or being able to hear about someone's business it can be quite interesting

when you run a small business and especially in somewhere like Cornwall

where people are spread out so it's very nice to have someone who really gets

into the nitty-gritty of your business and you can just say yeah you're doing a

great thing and support that or sometimes just say how about this as an

idea, or how about that, just a sounding board. So, you know, it's not always the

the big things that you do with the business that really make the difference.

Well what I'm hoping to do is say a little

bit about what B-Corporation is about, you know using your business for

good, measuring what matters and then really take them through what some other

B-Corporations around the UK are doing like Elvis and Kresse and Bulb and a

couple of other organizations, of course Finisterre, our newest BCorp.
