Goku Black.
He's not a live action Goku played by Will Smith.
He's evil Goku! gasp And he's taken quite the toll on the future.
It's like rural Connecticut but worse!
Hartford was lovely though.
(...well, most of it) But this Goku Black guy sure isn't.
And we're going to get to the bottom of him.
In a non-sexual way.
We're going into his mind, his story and most of all...his story you didn't know.
Don't worry that's not the schick.
Not yet.
But it's why you're here isn't it?
Indeed Goku Black is the main antagonist of the Future Trunks saga of Dragon Ball Super
and his most powerful transformation is Super Saiyan Rosé.
Which is pretty bougie.
He's the kind of pretentious, elitist douchenozzle you don't want wielding Goku's body and
power...and yet here he his.
I've already dropped some mild spoilers but beware...they get ..more.
Are you ready?
Goku Black is Zamasu's soul in Goku's body.
This green, bouge-maximizing, wine-sniffing, reluctant tea-pouring supreme kai apprentice
who is green stole Goku's body because he has the biggest balls in the universe.
The super dragon balls.
By the power of the divine dragon who dwarfs galaxies, our green, soon-to-be black literal
backstabber got his dainty, uppercrust hands on one of the strongest bodies in the universes!
You're just a dirty ladder climber who wears ascots in Aspen over his $1000 cardigan you
fuck.
Akira Toriyama, you're a master at creating villains.
Cause this guy SUCKS!
He's prepared, willing, and trying really hard to kill all gods and mortals because
he thinks he's smarter, nicer, and more deserving of obedience than everybody!
He's gunning to be the god of a universe by his design.
And that's a ridiculous thing.
So if you've ever wondered what makes the biggest, most-neon most false-justice-wanting
creep tick then prepare yourself.
For the story of power assumed with power itself, for the story of a god who forgot
he was mortal...EVEN WHEN HE WASN'T!
THIS GOKU BLACK...the story...you never knew.
That was the schtick
In order to understand someone you must first understand their motives.
That's not really true or anything but it transitions well into what we're gonna talk
about first.
Goku Black errr Zamasu's motives.
From his earliest appearance, this supreme kai apprentice disagrees with his supreme
kai master about...the usefulness of humans and anything like us.
Zamasu hates us highly-evolved monkeys because the Gods "graced us" with intellect..
intelligence...yet all we can seem to do is use this gift from the Gods to enact our selfish,
violent plans.
A CYNICAL PERSPECTIVE.
But the perspective of this self-proclaimed god nonetheless.
This hatred of any mortal that reminds zam-bam of humans is made obvious when he and his
yellow-elder watch over planet Barbaria and the "human-like" species that lives there.
They're more like 15 foot reptiles than humans but we've just gotta take Toriyama's
word for it that the minds of these creatures are extremely similar to those of the cavemen
way back in the day here on Earth.
No doubt these club-wielding, violence doers on planet Barbaria are a Barbaric bunch.
Get it?
You get it.
Indeed these lizard peoples', us humans, and those danged saiyans all fall into the
same category for Zamasu.
We're all a bunch of meanies given intelligence by the gods and we just don't deserve it!
All we ever do is destroy things and each other with it.
Understanding this idea is the key to understanding how and why Goku Black came to be.
This resentment at the simplistic, selfishness of mortals eats away at our green antagonist.
You can tell it's really bugging him, but it's not until Goku pays Gowasu and his
angsty apprentice a visit that these feelings reach a boiling point.
Goku challenges Zamasu to a fight and wouldn't you know it our golden boy ends up winning.
Zamasu is helpless against the supposedly barbaric mortal...he's not cool with that.
He's even a bit afraid of iiiiiit.
It's after this and learning of the existence of the super Dragon Balls from...god-tube...that
our soon-to-be boi in black hatches a plan.
He pays a visit to the profit Zuno who basically gives Zamasu the lowdown on how the Super
Dragon Balls work, how to summon the big, divine dragon and even how big each super
dragon ball is.
37,196.2204 kilometers to be exact.
These things are the size of planets!
But that doesn't stop Zameypammy from hopping between universes 6 and 7 to assemble these
big balls and enacting his plan.
Before he goes on his collection quest, however he must first murder Gowasu, his master so
that he, himself may become Supreme Kai and use those sweet time rings for himself.
..The Supreme Kai's each get a set of time rings that allow for travel forward in time...but
not backwards!
Make sense?
Great!
Zamasu uses this ability to fast forward a year when the balls aren't inert (cause
the Z fighters used them recently) and summons that sweet dragon with those magic words...pretty
peas.
First things first, Zamasu wishes for an immortal body so that he cannot be killed...or even
hurt.
Then he uses the time ring again to fast forward a year, collect the super dragon balls again
and make another wish.
This time wishing to trade bodies with Goku.
Much to the dismay of Chi-Chi and Goten...their husband/father suddenly changes color and
has a weird haircut.
Then a guy who looks exactly like Goku appears and murders Goku in his now-much-weaker body.
Bad.
Day.
You might be wondering how Zamasu was able to kill his old body after he'd already
wished for immortality...the answer is timeline shenanigans.
It'll make sense in a bit.
Of course things are about to get a whole lot worse!
Now that Zamasu is in possession of Goku's body, his disdain for mortals or more specifically
mortals who are smart, has the potential to become universal law instead of mere thoughts
in his head.
And to make matters worse, Zamasu (with his immortal body) has come from another time
to team up with himself in Goku's body.
There's the timeline shenanigans.
Green alien-man and Goku Black make quite the team.
Teamwork is superb when the same person exists in two different bodies.
So that's the gist of who Goku Black is and how he came to be.
Sometimes ya just gotta summarize.
BUT NOW IT'S TIME TO ANALYZE!
Have you noticed something interesting about Goku Black and the soul who inhabits him?
Have you noticed that in almost every way, Zamasu is the polar opposite of Goku?
Not only is Zam-bam a dick while Goku is kind, but he's also methodical while Goku is...forgetful.
More importantly, however, Zamasu is filled with inner turmoil, fear, and a strong desire
to push his will on to the universe.
Compare all that to Goku always being at ease, filled with forgiveness, is courageous and
really doesn't care what anyone else is doing so long as it isn't hurting other
people.
These two are so polar opposite it's almost like...it's fate that they would trade bodies.
Some things are just so poetic that they're meant to be.
Maybe that girl who posts marginally inspirational quote gifs with minions in them in everyday
on facebook was right...EVERYTHING DOES HAPPEN FOR A REASON!
Sometimes reality is poetry and it's a beautiful thing.
I mean...Dragon Ball Super is fictional but EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON!
Anyway.
Goku and Zamasu are opposites...but that doesn't stop our green antagonist from stealing this
powerful, saiyan body to enact his justice on the world.
Now this is all well and good, but we've been focused on Zamasu for too long.
His motives and identity are essential to understanding Goku Black...but now it's
time to look deep at the false-Saiyan himself.
What's important to understand about Black's character is that he isn't just a foreign
soul in Goku's body.
He's more interesting than that.
Because consciousness...is a two way street.
Sure, Zamasu's essence of being is the one pulling the strings of this Saiyan meat-vehicle,
but what he didn't foresee was that Goku's Saiyan instincts and pride would also play
into Black's personality.
Black's appearance even resembles Zamas slightly by being slightly slimmer, eyes more...intense?
Hair noticeably darker and pointing more in one direction instead of pointing in all of
them.
He's a shinjin mind intertwined with a Saiyan body...and so both of these species, however
different, play into the character of black.
They shape his body, his mind and are voices that whisper what he should do next.
Indeed, Goku Black is a bizarre combination of monkey pride and godly entitlement.
Hence...Super Saiyan Rose.
BARF!
It should also be noted that the Zam-bam's justice plays out in the alternative, future
timeline that was already super shitty thanks to the androids back in the day.
He makes a cameo in the normal timeline but quickly gets sucked back into the future cause
YOU AIN'T SUPPOSED TO GO BACKWARDS IN TIME BRO!
So yeah, the Z fighters and friends use the present as a regrouping point and make multiple
trips to the future to thwart Black and Green.
They seem to be able to pass between the future and past without much hassle from the metaphysics
of it all but I guess Bulma's time machine is better at transcending time and space than
an object built by the Gods.
MORTALS AIN'T SO UNIMPRESSIVE NOW ARE THEY?
ZAMASU?
More like ZAMASSSSsssUCK!!!??
Oh right I guess you were more worried about us accumulating power that outpaces our wisdom…Is
that a fair assessment of your reasoning for committing galactic genocide?
So I guess this time machine is more terrifying to you than impressive?
You know when you put it like that Zamasuck doesn't sound nearly as evil.
In fact according to Gowansu, Zamasu has...a pure heart!
So either this guys a terrible judge of character or the man behind Goku Black is more complicated
than we think!
Which is bad news considering I'm 3.5 pages in and trying to keep this to a one-parter.
In case you didn't know Gowasu says several times that how one makes and pours tea is
a window to the soul.
Specifically he says: "Tea made by one pure of heart is unclouded and always the most
delicious to boot."
And clearly this guy enjoys his apprentice's tea!
But how is this possible?
How can this harbinger of darkness be pure of heart?
Remember.
Goku is described throughout Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z as being "pure of heart."
It's a cornerstone of his character and it's why he's the benevolent protagonist
we've come to know and love.
It's why he spared Vegeta, it's why he can ride the nimbus...remember Bulma couldn't
ride the nimbus in Dragon Ball?
Yeah.
Apparently Mr. Genocide over here is a better person than our benevolent yet flawed scientist.
WHAT.
I'm having a hard time buying that.
But...let's look at the definition of "pure of heart".
According to dictionary.com it means "without malice, treachery, or evil intent; honest;
sincere; guileless."
So Zamasu murdered Goku's wife and child with the most honest and sincere intentions.
No hatred here.
Perhaps...that's the key to understanding the bizarre and mysterious character of Goku
Black.
Earlier on we touched on how Goku and Zamasu are opposites.
Their goals in life and outlook on the world are so ridiculously different yet they end
up fighting with the same body.
One is a bringer of order and the other is a bringer chaos.
Akira Toriyama, you sure know how a write a dichotomy!
Oddly enough, we can better understand Zamasu's purity of heart in the scene when he wills
an energy scythe into existence, then thrusts it forward to create a vast wound in the universe
itself.
A terrifying feat that even surpasses his own understanding.
He doesn't even know how it happens.
He has no idea what this wound in the sky even is exactly...however he guesses it could
be the culmination of his bottomless anger.
So let's get into that shall we?
His anger.
His...fear.
Somehow, in spite of these unenlightened emotions, our antagonist is still "pure".
You may be interested to know why.
You see, throughout the Dragon Ball series there have been villains with the worst of
intentions.
Frieza the arrogant conqueror, Cell the entitled narcissist, Buu the...chaotic evil.
Yet Zamasu, despite being the Z fighters' strongest opponent EVER...at the time...he's
somehow doing all of this out of the goodness of his heart.
Perhaps the best way to describe him is as someone filled with...righteous anger.
That is to say he really, truly believes that his desire to control the universe and rid
it of mortals is what's best for everyone.
In a weird way, he's not selfish.
He fears for the safety of existence and so he goes to incredible lengths to wipe human-like
mortals from existence.
Frieza, Cell, and Buu were...essentially all just having fun.
But Goku Black...he is a man on a mission.
Hellbent on making the world a better place even if he has to kill everyone who lives
in it.
Which is a silly thought...but at least it's authentic and not self-serving!
Perhaps what's most interesting thing about this character is the insight he gives to
Vegeta about his anger...and anger in general.
Keep in mind that Black almost killed Trunks right before saying this.
"I now understand how you are improving so rapidly.
It's anger isn't it?
The anger that your son was hurt made you strong didn't it?
Now that I realize it, it's simple....turn anger into power.
I see, anger.
Anger at the mortals who disrespect the universe.
Anger at the gods who overlook that disrespect.
And....anger at my powerless self for losing to a mere mortal!"
He, of course, says this right before throwing that wound into the sky.
Fascinating still...is what this means for the Z fighters and the path they were on until
the start of Dragon Ball Super.
Before the beginning of this installment, every new transformation, every new attack
was done with an epic yell...a shout to the heavens...a rage that could be felt in the
Earth itself.
When such anger that harkens back to the most ancient of Saiyan urges is discovered by a
god...the result is existentially terrifying.
You could say Zamasu's desire for power and it's awful result is what would have
been had Vegeta and Goku continued down their quest of becoming the strongest, angriest
fighters they possibly could.
This rage was traded for godly tranquility when Whis began teaching Vegeta and Goku and
this allowed both of them to ascend to Super Saiyan Blue.
Tranquility was the key to unlocking the next paradigm of power...the gods understood that...but
it's not until Zamasu discovers what anger is capable of that this god understands the
power it wields.
I'm sure you're familiar with the feeling of being angry.
You've probably noticed there's something...blinding about it.
You act without thinking, you do things you normally never would.
All the while your thoughts thrash chaotically.
Do you remember exactly what you did and why you did it?
Anger...can only get you so far before it becomes too chaotic to handle.
It, by its nature, fragments the psyche and leaves the one who is feeling it in a storm
of determined confusion.
Yet Zamasu...is a god...he wields in his consciousness a deep tranquility.
A tranquility that intertwines with his anger and stabilizes it to produce power previously
unseen.
If you're familiar with Broly (in the movie Broly the Legendary Super Saiyan) you know
his rage pushed his power further than anyone had ever gone...but it tore his mind apart
and he inevitably was defeated.
Broly lacked a clarity of mind...his anger..his fury.. controlled him...not the other way
around.
It's this ugly-beautiful balance of primal fear and calmness of mind that allows Goku
Black and his green companion to be calculating, devious, and always in control of themselves.
It's only after Zamasu and Black fuse together (after black had already been killed) that
our double antagonist starts to lose control.
Ultimately getting killed by Trunks, then seeping his essence into the ether of the
universe...becoming "justice itself" in a cackling, terrifying, chaos that must be
destroyed by the god of gods himself.
Good ol' Zenosama!
Losing control is really what undid Black.
He got cocky...careless, blinded by his emotions.
And that's not what he character was about up until the end.
Not at all.
Perhaps that's the most terrifying part of Goku Black and the god inside of him.
His character is one with clarity...despite the negative emotions he feels.
His divine calmness allows him to look through furious and fearful eyes with a clarity of
mind that no mortal could ever comprehend.
That is to say that at every moment, when gods were killed, when cities were leveled,
entire populations murdered, Goku Black never truly lost himself to his fear or his anger.
Except right at the end there.
He knew exactly what he was doing.
He understood the scope of the emotional suffering he caused, the collective misery and terror
of a hundred million lives obliterated and their loved ones left to barely hold on.
And yet he did it anyway.
He's not an uncaring narcissist, he's not playing games...he's just a terrified
god who's calm enough to understand how scared and angry he is.
And that's the story of Goku Black...the story...you never knew.
And...that's my take on Goku Black!

4 Essential Immaterial Tools You Already Have To Vibrate Higher In Your Everyday Life - Duration: 6:24.
Some say life is great.
Some say life is unfair.
Others say life is how we make it.
The truth is, life just is.
It becomes either colorful or bland depending on the way we see it.
And the way we see life is mostly dependent on the emotions that affect our perceptions
or the way it shakes our souls.
The ebbs and flows of emotions are overwhelming and may even be unbearable at times.
Yet, all along, we have a spiritual toolkit that contains the essential tools needed in
navigating our day to day existence.
These tools have been with us since the beginning.
And if you find yourself in an overwhelming or confusing situation, that's the best
time to spread open your spiritual toolkit and start to utilize the dormant powers within
you.
4 Essential Immaterial Tools You Already Have To Vibrate Higher:
1.
Surrender In military terms, surrender is the relinquishment
of control over territory, combatants, fortifications or armament to another power.
Surrender may also be the result of defeat in battle.
In spiritual life, however, surrender means offering yourself to God or Higher Source.
It's not a sign of defeat, rather it's the first step of winning because you're
offering yourself in alliance to a power higher than you are.
It means letting go of what doesn't serve you that you may embody your higher self.
Hence, when you're too overwhelmed by fear, anxiety, loneliness, or any other destructive
emotions, start to surrender them.
Instead of resisting these emotions, embrace them and let them go.
You don't have to shut down these emotions, you just have to accept their presence, acknowledge
them and even feel them but without attachment.
Surrendering is becoming a witness or an observer.
You may explore the "whys" or may even tell yourself that you've already processed
these issues way back.
Perhaps there are still wounds beneath.
Honor those wounds, yet continue to be a detached observer.
Detachment is key in surrendering the undesired emotions that are coming up from time to time.
2.
Ask Asking for help is a right you have been born
with.
Since we come into this world bringing nothing, we're entitled to ask for help for our survival.
When you feel you're at your edge or simply lack resources, ask from your higher self
or the Universe because you can't receive help if you don't ask.
This is how free will works.
Most often, when we don't receive what we ask for, it's not that the Universe isn't
willing to provide for us; it's just that there are unconscious blocks that prevent
us from asking properly.
It might be our conditioning, feelings of unworthiness, pride, or whatever it is that
urge us to stay "okay" even when we're not.
Asking for help is what prompts the universe to take action.
But, when you ask, ask in an affirmative way and with the right intention.
For example, if overwhelmed with strong emotions, ask the universe this way:
"Dear Universe, these feelings of [insert feelings, i.e. fear and insecurity], are overwhelming
and too much for me to bear right now.
Thank you for your help in shedding what no longer serves me, in releasing and renewing,
and in mulching these negative emotions that are too heavy and too burdensome for me to
process myself.
Knowing that the Law of Free Will will not be broken, I affirmatively am setting my intention
to receive help from you now.
Thank you for your guidance."
This is just an example.
You can use your own words whichever feels comfortable.
The important things are to ask in an affirmative way and in the present tense.
3.
Trust Once you have placed your order in the hands
of the universe, trust.
Give your full trust that you will receive what you are asking for.
Don't fret or worry whether you'll receive it or not, and when will it be given to you.
Entertaining these questions is allowing lower vibrational emotions like doubts and fears
to create blocks to receiving your request.
The best thing you can do is sit back and breathe.
Trust that you've asked for the right thing and trust that the right thing will be given
to you.
And in time, your fears or anxiety would turn into peaceful surrender and deeper connection
with who you are.
4.
Love After you have surrendered, asked for help,
and trust, you can now choose to love.
Choosing to do some acts of love and expressing gratitude are ways of increasing your vibration.
The more you vibrate higher, the higher the chances that your requests be heard.
It may be hard to choose love when you're still hurting or afraid or anxious, but you
just have to move because doing nothing will keep you stuck in life.
Besides, you've already asked for the universe to help you.
Now, it's your time to help yourself out and choosing to love is returning to your
true eternal nature.
This is also a conscious way of realigning yourself with the higher frequency where the
flow of love, harmony, bliss, happiness, abundance, and prosperity are readily available.
Choosing love isn't complicated either.
The work of love can be done by connecting with nature, giving focus on your breath,
following your passion, or doing something you love.
Spending time with a friend or with your pet is a great bonding moment too.
There are unlimited ways to express love.
As long as you're doing things the best of your ability and following your bliss,
amazing things are likely to happen.
You will vibrate in your true unique energy signature and will find alignment in your
day to day existence.
No matter what the day brings you, know that you're here not to become perfect but to
experience.
Always remember to surrender, ask, trust, and love.
When you practice these things every day, you will one day find yourself in perfect
alignment with who you are despite the stresses brought about by the daily hustles and bustles
of life.

5 Ancient Tibetan Exercises You Should Be Doing Every Day To Stay Young And Healthy
Its no secret that a long life starts with your daily habits.
Many people chase youth and health but have trouble to committing to these healthy habits.
If you dont know where to start on your journey of wellness, try the Tibetan 5 Rites,
which are easy to do and dont require much time.
Best of all, theyll leave you feeling relaxed and refreshed!
The 5 Rites
The Five Tibetan Rites is a yoga routine suitable for people of any age thats based on a
ritual of exercises done by the Tibetan Lamas, believed to be the root of their longevity.
It also only takes about 20 minutes to do and has been practiced for over 2500 years
(1).This daily ritual is believed to help manage stress, tone the body, increase focus
and mental clarity as well as improve digestion, blood flow, and immune function.
Its also said to improve the mind-body connection (2).
It works on the belief that the body contains chakras or centers of spiritual energy.
These 7 chakras are situated along the spine, from the crown on your head down to the tailbone.
They are described as the swirling wheels of energy where matter and consciousness meet
and through which prana (life energy) flows (3).
Each of the seven main chakras contains nerves connected to major organs.
They are also said to be responsible for our psychological, emotional, and spiritual states
of being (3).
Peter Kelder, author of the book Ancient Secret Of The Fountain Of Youth describes
the chakras as such:
constello-bracelet The body has seven centers, which, in English,
could be called Vortexes.
These are kind of magnetic centers.
They revolve at great speed in the healthy body, but when slowed down well that is
just another name for old age, ill-health, and senility.
These spinning centers of activity extend beyond the flesh of healthy individuals, but
in the old, weak, senile person, they hardly reach the surface, except in the knees.
The quickest way to regain health, youth and vitality is to start these magnetic centers
spinning again.
There are but five practices that will do this.
Anyone of them will be helpful, but all five are required to get glowing results.
THE 5 RITES ROUTINE This routine requires no equipment, no sweat
and will increase energy and flexibility.
Within a month of everyday practice, youll notice incredible results.
Keep in mind that the rites should be performed in a quiet, relaxing space.
If youre feeling stressed, take a few breaths and ground yourself before beginning.
Lastly, keep in mind that the rites should be performed in sequence, with little time
in between each movement.
The key is not speeding, but rather focus and consistency in your movements (4).
RITE 1
Youve probably seen children doing this motion before.
Its actually meant to increase energy, tap into your natural youthfulness and help
speed up the 7 chakras.
Steps:
1 Stand straight with arms stretched out parallel to the earth.
2 Starting turning your body clockwise, with your left foot leading as you pivot on your
right.
3 To avoid dizziness, find two focus points or Dristhi one in front the other behind
you.
Spin your head quickly to focus on these points as your body moves.
4 Take deep breaths and enjoy the movement.
5 Rest in mountain pose, samasthiti or Tadasana, with your eyes closed.
RITE 2
This site is designed to stimulate the solar plexus chakra, heal the digestive system and
tone the abdominal muscles and core.
Steps:
1 Lie down on your back with arms stretched out beside you and your legs out in front
of you
2 As you exhale, bring your legs up and towards your core, making sure to keep them straight.
3 Bring your head towards your chest as you do so.
4 Make sure to take deep breaths throughout the exercise.
5 Rest when you need, hugging your legs into the chest and rocking side to side to soothe
the back and pelvis.
6 In preparation for the next Rite, relax in savasana pose
RITE 3
This rite is good for the throat chakra to stimulate the pituitary and thyroid glands.
It boosts positive mood and increases spine strength and flexibility.
Steps:
1 Close your eyes
2 Rest on your knees, standing tall.
Your knees should be at hips width apart.
3 Rest your hands on your lower back or just below your buttocks for support
4 Bring your hips forward as you lift your chest upwards, tilting you head back int he
process.
5 Release and stand upright.
6 Rest in childs pose.
RITE 4
The fourth rite works on the sacral chakra to awaken sexual energy and strengthen clarity.
It also tones the arms, legs and gluteus.
Steps:
1 Sit with both feet firmly on the floor at hips width apart.
2 Bring your hands just behind you, with your palms firmly ont he ground and in line with
your shoulders.
and finger tips faced forwards.
3 Inhale and bring your hips up as high as possible, tilting your head back int he process.
4 Exhale and come back down.
5 Rest in savasana.
RITE 5
This final rite is designed to stimulate all chakras and tone the entire body.
It also relieves fatigue and increases blood flow.
Steps:
1 Start in a plank position with your hands and feet shoulder and hip-width apart.
2 Keep your elbows and knees loose and flexible.
3 Slowly move into a downward facing dog or adho-mukha svanasana.
4 Return to your plank and bring your hips towards the ground to ease into an upward
facing dog or Urdhvamukhasvanasana.
5 Rest in savasana for as long as you need to recover.
As you get better, begin repeating each rite 21 times.
As it becomes a daily ritual, you will feel more and more connected with your body and
relaxed.

perfect so I don't have anything in here because this note this calendar planner
is new to me I to use a bullet journal primarily for notes and whatnot that I
thought this would also be great so it also has spots for two pens right here
this is a really nice franklin Kristof pen that I got at the Arkansas pen show
so this is um and I also got the Aurora Optima and I guess that's peacock or
green as well so this notebooks really nice so it has two spots for pins right
here and then a spot to carry everything you can carry some additional stuff so I
have a couple of ink samples I'm gonna put back in this califo Leo rare doreen
because I don't have that in my Optima right now and it's a medium nib so it
goes through a fair amount but hey though it's a great little notebook I
really enjoy the system because you can kind of have your
and everything in there and put it all together it also has an external pocket
yeah one example works out a lot better it has an external pocket right here
that you could actually like hide a couple of things like oh this other
example um I could stick right in this pocket
so this fit nicely in my purse I like it better than say this head case which is
also nice because it just fits two pens but it you know I love having a little
calendar around or something like that so anyway so there is my newest treasure
from the Arkansas pen show it's this great knock notebook called the seed
this is the first time I saw them was at the pen show and I think well I didn't I
saw at the pen chevre we all went to a party at Van Ness I believe it was
Friday night and I think they sold out of these but I'm sure they're gonna get
some more in but there you go there is my new favorite way to carry around my
pens is my Knock seed all right so my wrap-up bun this is AIT's a great
notebook it's great to keep in your purse I love the fact that I can put
pens and a planner and you know perhaps carry a neat sample or two to refill I
go through a lot of ink I tend to like pins that have broader nibs so I can
shoot to repent in a day on a heavy writing day but there you go so I hope
you enjoyed this notebook let me know in the comments down below how you carry
your pens and I hope you enjoyed this video thanks so much for watching

Spotted Crochet Easter Eggs Tutorial Part 1 - Duration: 17:43.
Hey everyone.
I'm Lizfaerie and today I'm going to show you how to make these spotted crochet Easter
eggs inspired by Yoshi eggs.
These are similar to the Easter eggs video I made a while back, but I've improved the
technique and now there's a written pattern available.
This time, I'll be making my eggs using these extra large Easter eggs, so I'll be making
them in a larger size than before.
And the reason for that is, these large eggs actually fit my Baby Yoshi amigurumi doll
that I made last year, so I'm going to make an egg for all of my Yoshi babies.
If you want to see how I made these Baby Yoshis, you can find a link in the description below,
or click the card at the top of the screen.
Some things you're going to need for this tutorial are:
A crochet hook, I'm going to be using a size E (3.5 mm)
A pair of scissors A yarn needle
I'll be using a bobby pin to mark my stitches A glue gun
Some Jumbo plastic Easter eggs And you'll need yarn.
I'll be using "white" from Red Heart Super Saver and "spring green" from Red Heart
Super Saver, but you can use any color yarns you like.
If you'd like a written pattern, you can find one in my Ravelry store.
The link is in the description below.
These are the eggs I made last year.
As you can see, the spots on these eggs pop out a lot more, because I made the spots all
separately and sewed them to the egg shell after it was done.
That method is a lot easier.
If you want to make them in this style, check out that tutorial by clicking the card at
the top of the screen.
For this new method, though, I'm going to make the spots with color changes instead,
so they don't pop out as much.
So I'm going to increase to widen the egg shell, then single crochet for a few rows
to lengthen the egg shell, while at the same time adding spots of green to the shell.
To make extra large spots, do 3 stitches of green in the first row, then 5 stitches in
the 2nd row, then 6 stitches in the 3rd row, then 6 again in the 4th row, then 4 in the
5th row, then 3 in the last row.
For the large spots, do 3 stitches in the first row, then 5, then 5 again, then 4, then
3 in the last row.
For the smaller spots, do 2 stitches in the first row, then 3, then 3 again, then 2 in
the last row.
And for the smallest spots, do 2 stitches in the first row, then 2 stitches in the last
row.
You can add these spots randomly all over the egg shell pieces, or you could follow
along and do all the same color changes I'm doing in this tutorial.
First I'll make the bottom half of the egg.
I'm going to start with my white yarn, and create a double magic circle with 6 stitches
of single crochet.
If you like, you could start with your green yarn, if you want to make a spot at the very
middle.
I'll show you how to do that when I make the other half of the egg shell.
So I'm going to pull up a loop.
Then I'm going to chain 1, and that's going to count as my first stitch.
Then I'm going to single crochet 5 more times onto my circle, for a total of 6 stitches.
Now I'm going to close my magic circle.
Now that I've got my circle closed, I'm going to increase every stitch of this next row.
So I'm going to go into that 1st chain that counted as the first stitch, and I'm going
to single crochet twice into that stitch.
And I'm going to mark the first of those stitches as the first stitch of the row.
I want to increase every stitch of this row.
So into the next stitch, I'm going to single crochet 2 times, but on the 2nd stitch of
the increase, I'm going to leave the stitch open and change colors to green.
So I've done the first 4 stitches using white, and left the last stitch open.
Now I'm going to finish that stitch using my green yarn to change colors to green.
So now I've changed colors to green.
I'm going to single crochet 3 times using green, but I'm going to keep increasing every
stitch of this row.
So increase the next stitch using green.
Then single crochet into the next stitch using green, but leave that stitch open and change
colors back to white.
And remember to keep increasing every stitch of this row.
So I'm going to single crochet again into the same stitch, this time with white.
Then I'm going to do 1 more white stitch, then I'm going to change colors back to green.
And single crochet 2 using green.
Then change colors back to white.
And single crochet 1 using white.
Make sure that you increased every stitch of the row.
There should be 12 stitches.
Now I've gotten to the end of the row.
In this next row, I'm going to increase every 2nd stitch while I continue to do my color
changes to make my spots.
So first I'm going to single crochet 5 using white.
Then single crochet 5 using green.
Single crochet 3 using white.
Single crochet 3 using green.
And single crochet 2 using white.
And don't forget to continue to increase.
There should be 18 stitches in this row.
In the next row, I'm going to increase every 3rd stitch while I continue making my spots,
just like I did in the last row; so single crochet 2 using white.
Single crochet 2 using green.
Single crochet 3 using white.
Single crochet 6 using green.
Single crochet 5 using white.
Single crochet 3 using green.
And single crochet 3 using white.
And again, don't forget to increase every 3rd stitch of the row.
There should be 24 stitches.
This is going to be the last row of increase, so in the next rows you won't have to worry
about it.
If you want to make a larger size, you could always keep increasing by the next number,
but the colors of your stitches won't line up if you do.
Just make sure that you're making all the extra large spots with 3 stitches of green
in the first row, then 5 stitches in the 2nd, then 6 stitches, then 6 again, then 4, then
3 in the last row.
For the large spots, do 3 stitches in the first row, then 5, then 5 again, then 4, then
3 in the last row.
For the smaller spots, do 2 stitches in the first row, then 3, then 3 again, then 2 in
the last row.
And for the smallest spots, do 2 stitches in the first row, then 2 stitches in the last
row.
So I've gotten to the end of the rows of increase.
So now I'm going to stop increasing, and I'm going to work single crochets for 6 more rows,
while I finish my color changes.
So in my first row of single crochet, I'll single crochet 2 using white.
Single crochet 2 using green; single crochet 4 using white; single crochet 6 using green;
single crochet 5 using white; single crochet 2 using green; and single crochet 3 using
white.
In my next row, the 2nd row of single crochet, I'll single crochet 9 using white; single
crochet 4 using green; single crochet 3 using white; single crochet 2 using green; and single
crochet 6 using white.
In the 3rd row of single crochet, I'm going to single crochet 5 using white; single crochet
2 using green; single crochet 3 using white; single crochet 3 using green; single crochet
3 using white; single crochet 2 using green; and single crochet 6 using white.
In the 4th row of single crochet, I'm going to single crochet 5 using white; single crochet
3 using green; single crochet 14 using white; single crochet 2 using green.
On the last stitch of the row, change colors to white.
In the 5th row of single crochet, I'm going to single crochet 5 using white; single crochet
3 using green; single crochet 6 using white; single crochet 2 using green; single crochet
6 using white; single crochet 2 using green.
On the last stitch of the row, change colors to white.
And for my last row of single crochet, the 6th row, I'm going to single crochet 6 using
white; single crochet 2 using green; single crochet 6 using white; single crochet 2 using
green; single crochet 8 using white.
Then I'm going to slip stitch to the 1st stitch of the row to end the row.
And I'm going to cut off my yarn, and sew in the ends.
So I've finished with the bottom piece of the egg.
In the next part of the video, I'll show you how to make the top piece.

From the Donors: How do you hope your gift impacts others? - Duration: 2:09.

Hopefully at some point somebody walks by the space that's named for my family, maybe
recognized that I worked with them in the Aztec Mentoring Program and helped them through
either a difficult semester in school, or gave them a vision for what life as a professional
engineer could look like and it makes them want to give back to the university in a similar
or much greater way.
And what I loved about the way gifting is encouraged here, is that every little bit matters.
I love that we donated a balcony.
And on that balcony I hope students find rest and relaxation, and some sunshine and a minute
to get away and then get back in there a get studying again.
So, I am really excited with our gift.
The Stephen and Lynn Doyle Family Foundation is the name of the bridge that connects the
old engineering building to the new EIS building.
On the plaque it says the bridge to innovation. That is very important to us.
It symbolizes very well the connection between the existing enigineering building and the
future, which is going to be created here in EIS.
Well, I got a lot of help along the way and I feel very fortunate.
Help from professors, help from mentors and even other students.
I hope that my gift provides the same kind of support and facilitates the same kind of
learning or better than I received here.
I certainly hope that it will generate other interests and they'll want to be part of it as well.

Finding Inspiration - Sunny Lenarduzzi - The Chantal Show - Duration: 5:45.
Hey everyone, its Katie!
It's definitely been a minute since I have uploaded a video. I've actually
started videos and stopped them and said, okay, I'm recording today, no I'm not.
I don't know. Weight loss journey, let's just get to that first or should we call
it weight gain journey? Here's the thing. I've been struggling. I'm not gonna lie.
So, here's the cool thing. I don't know if you guys have ever watched Sunny
Lenarduzzi. I'm gonna put her link of her channel down in the description box.
You need to check her out. Not only can she help you with just your YouTube
channel in general, that's how I found her, but she started this new series
about kind of stripping down all the makeup and the hair and whatever and I
mean she actually physically did that, and getting down to kind of the
nitty-gritty and really getting to know her. Anyway, it really inspired me
actually to jump back on here because yeah I've been struggling lately. I've
been getting sucked way too far into weight loss journey and if I'm not doing
good, then I'm failing and kind of basing everything on the fact that I'm either
losing weight or not losing weight and it's determining how I feel about myself.
That's total crap. I mean, come on, the whole reason I started this channel in
the first place was to celebrate being you, you know celebrate who you are. It
doesn't mean that you can't work towards being a better version of yourself but
it definitely shouldn't make you feel like I can only love myself until I lose
that 50 pounds or 70 pounds or 10 pounds or whatever, and sunny really hit that
home for me for whatever reason. You know how sometimes
it's just...it might be something somebody else has already said but for
whatever reason on that day at that exact moment it just hits you. The other
channel I want to talk about which I kind of found I don't know if it was by
accident. It was probably like a suggested video or something but her
name is Chantal and she's The Chantal Show. Now, I originally found her, I think
it was a her mukbang. That's what she I believe has been building her channel
around originally. I knew what mukbangs were, muckbongs, but I started watching
hers and I could kind of relate to her a lot actually. She wants to lose weight.
She's trying to make changes but then she's coming back to you know doing what
she had done before and maybe eating things that you know she just wants to
eat and I would find myself reading the comments in her videos and thinking, wow.
I mean, these people are very judgmental first of all maybe because they haven't
been through it? I don't know. I don't want to say that I know what they've
been through and what they haven't, but based on comments, it just made me feel kind of
like, man, I totally get it. I totally get food addiction. I know what it feels like.
I know what it feels like to try to make changes and then wake up one morning and
just be like I don't even care. I just want to eat whatever it is. I just want
to eat that because when I eat that food it makes me feel better. Is that a
healthy relationship with food? No. But, it just is what it is for some people and
so I can relate to those feelings that she has. I don't want to say I feel bad.
It's not that I feel bad for her. I definitely just can relate and I guess I
feel bad more about the people making comments to her that you can tell they
just don't get it. So, anyway, I wanted to make a video just to kind of say hi. I
miss everybody. I miss all you guys and I have been watching videos here and there.
I don't know where I'm going as far as my weight loss
journey in particular, but I'm still working on trying to be the healthiest
version of myself that I can. And you know I'm listening to a book that I'm
definitely gonna be sharing more about going forward. I don't know how much the
scale is gonna be involved for me. I weighed myself. I'm about 15 pounds up
since I stopped Weight Watchers. I just wanted to jump on here because I want to
get back to why I started this in the first place and have some fun again. I
feel like I got caught in a rut and I wanted to give you guys an update if
you've been wondering where I'm at. All right, so until next time, I hope you
guys are doing good. I'll be catching up on some videos and I'll see you next
time. Bye!
I don't know if I wanna say that.
Oh excuse me.
Here's my--oh my gosh, people keep texting me.

TIME ENTANGLEMENT AND THE SUPERNATURAL - Duration: 6:43.
TIME ENTANGLEMENT AND THE SUPERNATURAL
BY Robert Torres
When you look into the abyss, the abyss also looks into you. ~Nietzche
I read this in the context of quantum entanglement: that as the observers we become part of a
quantum system one with the observed. More like-minded scientists are coming to
the realization that we are the cause of many of our own phenomena.
Have you ever felt like youve been here before or maybe you know whats about to
happen, or maybe even something does happen and it seems like it was meant to be? These
things have happened to me many times over and they were so weird that I was compelled
to look for answers. Dj vu, Precognition, ESP, Synchronicity are just a few of a number
of often memorable events that standout and we might categorize them as supernatural
because there is apparently no logical or natural explanation for them.
But what if science had the answer all along? And if it happens all the time to so many
of us then how could we still be calling it supernatural? It would be natural right? And
Id like to believe its real and that were remembering real events out of time
from the future. What? Yes. Through what Ill call neural or neuronal entanglement.
So my idea is pretty simple and yes after much research, others have thought of almost
the same thing too almost. Although it is science based, much of the mechanisms
involved like the science itself are still mysterious. And it has to do with entanglement
but not just of subatomic particles neurons. And even though it works the same way, because
they are neurons they are directly connected to your consciousness.
How you think, your memory, space, time and much like many have proposed before as theory
like Entangled Mind, author Dean Radin, who believes in entanglement, can explain
ESP. He suggests as I do, the connectedness of everything in the universe and like Bohm
that everything is one with no separation. Also much like John Wheelers extreme one
electron theory, but I suggest just as many hypothesize that the entanglement is also
through time as well as described by physicists at the University of Queensland time-like
entanglement. Only I believe this characteristic includes the ability to not only exchange
information from past to future but also back to the past. As Ive written in a previous
article called Is Communication from the Future Already Here?
The late and brilliant theoretical physicist John Archibald Wheeler believed it is and
he has some very interesting conceptual writing on reverse causation or retrocausality
in his updated double slit experiment, aka delayed choice. When I began to think
much of this through, originally entanglement hypothetically bypasses the spacetime dimension
completely as if it wasnt there. This means instant superluminal communication (faster
than light) at any distance. But according to some of our other physicists it also breaks
the time barrier by being able to communicate into the future. With Wheeler believing the
future can affect the past.
So if we account for these characteristics together we have our own entangled neurons
communicating with each other faster than the speed of light at any distance through
time. And if you think that Im stretching then its like George Orwell said: There
are some ideas so absurd that only an intellectual could believe them!
Of course many believe we cant be entangled on such a large scale (above sub-atomic).
Even so for others like me, we only need to observe. And every single one of these so
called new age theorists are doing the same. Lets not forget that the supernatural cant
be explained by science, and everyone agrees on that. But many of us believe in things
like Synchronicity, precognition and ESP because its an observed human reality.
You will begin to see when you come to the realization that all of most of these fringe
topics are not accepted. Tesla said:
Todays scientists have substituted mathematics for experiments, and they wander off through
equation after equation, and eventually build a structure which has no relation to reality.
Tesla was hands on believing much of theoretical physics lacked, observed reality. Tesla also
said:
The day science begins to study non-physical phenomena, it will make more progress in one
decade than in all the previous centuries of existence. ~Nikola Tesla.
How important then is quantum entanglement? To science it could mean everything or the
hypothesis of supernatural abilities (psi / chi) it could mean everything as well. If
we are talking about entangled neurons then within the field of the often apparent paranormal
or supernatural forces it may actually just be a natural part of reality. Among those
who believe, its just part of our normal consciousness it is the way it is. Others
however think its a leap. Glitches in our individual timelines are also a consistent
part of the natural order happening more with some than with others. Why? And the fact that
with synchronicity they come along with purposeful meaning? That still only the universal mind
knows the answer to.
If you believe Einstein, he makes it simple! Believing in determinism or that everything
in the universe, including every human act is pre-determined and there is no free choice.
Even with his science of time as a dimension, it only becomes more solidly fixed. Spacetime
or Minkowskis block time gives us fixed points of our individual life lines.
If we could travel time then we can always come to these fixed points which are arbitrary
but will always be unchanged. Yesterday at 3:00 pm you were exactly here and this occurred,
or 15 years ago it doesnt matter because it has already passed and you cant go back
to change it, he believed. Everything that happened already occurred and our memories
will always remain the same as part of our timelines entangled forever.

Rental Property Tax Write Off - Duration: 7:58.
So you need some help figuring out how to come up with the best rental property
write offs or tax deductions well in this video I'm gonna share 10 top tips
with you coming up? Hey there it's Billy with KeePon Cashflow helping you to
grow your money and your mindset so that you can get to the lifestyle that you
really want to lead faster now on this channel we're going to be sharing weekly
tips and strategy videos just like this so if it's your first time here you're
going to want to consider subscribing to the channel and you also want to make
sure that you check out the links and the comments that are in the section
below because week after week there's wonderful wonderful comments but as for
today I want to get back to this whole topic of sharing with you different
deductions or write offs that you can have for your rental properties
and the thing is I wish someone would have shared these things with me in the
very beginning because it would have helped me to decide to actually start
investing in real estate probably a lot faster the same information for you may
lead you to a different decision but you know when you think about taxes a lot of
times people don't necessarily like them and I always remember one of the Rich
Dad Advisors Tom Wheelwright he talked about the the tax code is actually helps
to spur on entrepreneurs so that they can do what is being asked by the local
governments and so as a result of that I think it's important to make sure that
you are working with a very competent tax professional that can help you to
understand that tax code and be able to use that to your advantage and help to
spur on your different investments so let's talk about the ten different write
offs that can help you and to do that actually came up with a little list just
to make sure that I don't forget anything to share with you and before I
go into this list just one last thing the things that I'm going to share with
you are things that that actually we're doing or I'm doing with my company so I
want to make sure that you go out and reach and speak to your tax professional
to make sure that they can advise you on how these things will work best so once
again just wanted to share some experience with you so as a
long-distance investor I want to talk to you about the first different types of
write offs or deductions that you can have as
a as a real-estate investor and the first comes in travel but I'm actually
going to break this into two different types of travel as a long-distance
investor one of the things that's really important for me to do as I live in
Europe and need to fly back to the US to the different markets where our rental
properties are we have different types of travel that are types of deductions
so those the flights and then once we're there with our teams to make sure that
the the different meals that we may be having as we discuss business those
types of different things as a long-distance investor we can use as as
deductions or tax write-offs the other thing is travel but thinking about
travel but more on a local basis so if you are investing in your local
environment in your local city one of the things that you may need to do is
get in your car and drive to the rental property you may be managing the
property yourself so you have to use your car you have to use the gas to get
to the property and those are different ways that you could look to they're part
of your business expenses so those are something that you can use to also
potentially write-off and some people like to also use their their office or
specifically their home office so let's say you're using a portion of your
office provided that it has a door and it has all of the different requirements
that are needed based on the tax code a portion of that you could also look to
have potentially written off or if you rent an office space somewhere else and
in office building etc etc very similar type of thing if you happen to have
employees and you investing in the employees and the expenses that are
associated with associated with those employees are also deductible those
areas are part of running your business so that's something that the government
would want you to do and will allow you to write-off also talk about insurance
so whenever you have a rental property or multifamily buildings like we like to
do and you need to make sure that though that you have insurance and part of
having the insurance is also something that can be written off and aside from
insurance there's also different things that can happen
you may have casualties it's which is another item that you want to think
about casualty losses so if you have a fire or if you have types of floods the
money that needs to go back into those items are also once again or can be
deductible once again all these things you need to check with your tax
professional make sure that they are applicable for you and your situation
and also thinking about just repairs the day-to-day repairs on a property are
also deductible right so whenever you need to do something that has to be
fixed on the property to keep it in good standing
whether you're fixing a door that has broken or you have the the typical
something's happen with one of the toilets when you get those fixed those
are also deductible because it's part of keeping your business up and running and
it's something that you need to be able to look into one of the areas also is
another key area for deductions or write-offs error the legal and
professional services that you may need so one of the you know one of the line
items when we look at although the legal teams whether that's helping us in terms
of bringing in or transacting a new property bringing it into the portfolio
having to deal with things like evictions or having to deal with any
types of legal issues those are part of doing business and then also anyone that
you would bring on to to do maybe specific one-off type of jobs those are
also professional services that you're using that you could look to potentially
have deductible or written off as part of doing your business and then I'm
gonna leave you with two the last two in terms of write offs or deductions and
the first one is interest so when you have the interest payments on a mortgage
for instance that you're using or some that lenders giving you those interest
payments that you're using from the financing costs are also something that
can be written off or deducted from your from your income taxes and then lastly
and this is probably the most exciting or the best one for those of us that are
in real estate and as you're looking into real
State is the entire depreciation and the depreciation expense that can be written
off this is one of the most powerful parts of rental real estate is
depreciation so when you can look at these different ten items that I've just
talked to you hopefully you get an idea as to how each of these ten items apply
in rental real estate and your multifamily buildings for those of you
who are also long-distance investors you can see some of the different areas that
you'll now want to go out and talk to your tax professional about so that they
can best advise you on claiming they're the most appropriate write-offs and/or
deductions so I always love to leave you with the question of the day and so
today's question of the day is of these different deductions that I just talked
to you about which are which was the newest one that you hadn't thought of or
that you didn't know about are your tax professional had not spoken to you about
I'd love for you to leave the comments in the section below or if you even have
other questions feel free to leave those and I'll be looking forward to answering
your questions and reading the comments so as always this is Billy keels with
keep on cashflow that's my two cents for today and as always
hasta la próxima

NFL quarterback Trevone Boykin's girlfriend says she had "never seen so much blood," following an alleged attack she suffered from the former Texas Christian University player.
Shabrika Bailey, 26, who is Boykin's high school sweetheart, is alleging that he beat her up at his house in Mansfield, Texas, on March 20.
It's expected that Boykin will be charged with aggravated assault in the case.
In an interview with WFAA, Bailey said that she had "never seen so much blood," after the alleged attack.
Bailey told the station, "So he goes into a choke.
I remember him choking me and I'm trying to calm him down.
And I just couldn't. And I blacked out.
I just couldn't calm him down at all.
The pressure was just hard.
The pressure got hard to where I just remember just collapsing completely.
And I just woke up in a puddle of blood on the kitchen floor.
My whole right side was full of blood on the kitchen floor… And I've never seen that much blood.
I thought I was bleeding from somewhere else cause it was so much blood, completely.".
Bailey went on to say that after the beating, Boykin attempted to clean her up.
The following day, Boykin took Bailey to Dallas Regional Medical Center in Mesquite.
At some point, Boykin fled the hospital while Bailey was airlifted to Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas.
Here's what you need to know:.
Bailey Was Arrested for Possession in 2017 After Driving Her Car Into a Wall; Now She Says that Crash Was Because Boykin Was Attacking Her.
In March 2017, Boykin was arrested along with Bailey outside of a bar in Dallas.
Bailey was driving the pair when she crashed into a wall and hit eight pedestrians.
Bailey was charged with a DUI.
Boykin was charged with marijuana possession and public intoxication as he tried to flee the scene.
Bailey tells WFAA that the crash as a result of Boykin attacking her.
In her interview, Bailey said, "He leaned over, attacked me, and choked me unconscious which made the car go into drive to reverse." Bailey says that she didn't admit that to police at the time because she was scared of Boykin.
Bailey added there was another incident in which Boykin broke her jaw and asked her to lie about what happened in order to salvage his career.
Bailey told WFAA, "His first suggestion was to say that I fell.
Then he suggested that I got beat up by a girl, or jumped.
Then he suggested that I fell again.
He's saying basically since we've already been in a case we don't need nothing else.
And of course his football career is on the line.
That's his main goal, just 'my football career is on the line." Bailey then said that she was no longer willing to protect Boykin because, "This is serious.
This is domestic violence.".
The 2017 Charges Against Boykin Were Dropped a Month Before His 2018 Arrest.
The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported in February 2018 that the intoxication and possession charges against Boykin were dismissed by prosecutors.
The article notes that the DUI charges against Bailey were still being processed.
Bailey told WFAA that the altercation between her and Boykin on March 20 began because he wanted to see a text message on her phone.
Bailey says she refused to unlock her phone, which is when Boykin got angry.
Boykin Wasn't Interviewed by Detectives Until a Week After the Alleged Incident.
The WFAA report on Boykin's alleged abuse of Bailey notes that the Mansfield Police Department is investigating the crime.
The article says that it wasn't until March 27 that police began questioning Boykin and his brother at Boykin's home in Mesquite.
Prior to Bailey going public with her allegations, WFAA reports that Boykin's agent, Drew Pittam told the station, "The info on Trevone as I'm sure you have heard was false.
He was not involved in any situation.".
In a statement via Ian Rappaport, Boykin denied the allegations.
The former Seahawk said, "I understand the Seahawks decision to release me.
The story that was reported casts a bad light on the organization and on me.
I want to be clear that the story is false.
The police have taken statements from the accuser, another witness and me.
All of these statements confirm that I was not involved in the physical altercation.
This woman has lied about me and it has cost me my job.
I know guilt by association is real.
This person has fabricated a story and I am suffering the consequences.
I will let the legal system run its course and I know I will be vindicated.".
Boykin Has Been Cut by the Seattle Seahawks.
Just a few hours after news of Boykin's alleged abuse became public, the Seattle Seahawks announced that Boykin has been cut from the team.
Boykin joined the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent in 2016.
During his time in Seattle, Boykin played five games.
In 2017, Boykin was the team's sole backup to Russell Wilson.
Most recently, Boykin signed a future/reserve contract with the team in January 2018.
In 2016, Boykin Was Sentenced to a Year's Probation for a Bar Assault.
This is not Boykin's first accusation of assault.
In December 2015, while still a student at Texas Christian University, Boykin got in to a bar fight which resulted in him punching a police officer.
Boykin pleaded no-contest to the charges of assaulting a public servant and was sentenced to a year of probation, community service as well as being forced to attend alcohol awareness classes.
The arrest came two days before the 2016 Alamo Bowl for which Boykin then missed after being suspended by the school.

Top 10 Animals That Are Smarter Than YOU - Duration: 7:48.
Hello and welcome back to the Most Amazing Channel on the internet.
I am your host Rebecca Felgate and today we are talking about the Top 10 Animals that
are smarter than you!
I love animals, animals are so fantastic… and a lot of them are highly intelligent in
ways that we perhaps cant understand.
Before we get into this list, I just want to tell you guys about a few meet ups that
we have coming up – we are going to be at Playlist Live in Orlando from April 27th to
29th and we will be hosting our own meetup at Yonge and Dundas Square in Toronto on the
12th May from 2pm.
If anyone comes wearing a most amazing shirt, we will sign it for you!
We will have a few goodies to give away to the first people to turn up to our Toronto
meet up too!
OKAY…ya filty animals.
10 Dolly The Dolphin who seduced a man.
Oh, sure.
Malcolm Brenner believes that a Dolphin named Dolly seduced him, entrapping him into a year
long affair.
Dolphins are known to be some of the smartest animals in the world, and to be honest, the
power of seduction is no mean feat.
At the time of the affair, the now 63 year old was in his 20s and working as an aquatic
photographer in a Florida Theme Park.
Dolly seemed to know what she wanted…Malcolm said "She announced her intentions to me
by positioning herself so I was rubbing against her.
"At first I discouraged her, I wasn't interested.
After some time I thought 'if this was a woman would I come up with these rationalisations
and excuses'?"
Urm.
Malcom said he and Dolly tricked the Male Dolphins and managed to escape to a secluded
area of the pool.
Again.
Um.
9 – Crows There is a reason that mankind has traditionally
been scared of crows and ravens….
They're eerily smart, They know what is happening.
Crows recognise and remember human faces and they have the ability to hold a grudge.
In fact, their memories are scarily good.
They conspire AND they have the ability to fashion tools and problem solve.
Crows in urban areas have been known to crack nuts by dropping them in front of cars, then
waiting for them to drive away!
8 – Pretty much all Octopuses…Octopi….
But especially one aptly named inky.
The humble octopus is actually frighteningly smart.
Octopuses have been observed making tools out of coconuts and shells, they also learn
by observation AND they understand social behaviour.
There have been lots of tales of Octopuses escaping tanks they are often kept in at tourist
attractions, for example, an Octopus called inky escaped his enclosure at the National
Aquarium of New Zealand by squeezing out a gap in his tank then slithering down a pipe.
Another Octopus in Germany starting shooting water at an overhead light because he liked
the humans panicked reaction.
7 – Karta the Orangutan Not many humans can pull off a great escape,
but Karta the Orangutan made a mockery of Adelaide Zoo.
The 27 year old 137 lb trickster made a ladder out of stick, roots and debris to climb out
of her enclosure and cut loose.
Byeee.
Side note – in Argentina, a court ruled that Orangutans deserve some of the same rights
as humans.
Hello, it's the SPERM WHALE at number 6
So, in terms of brain size, the sperm whale is the winner!
The average human brain weighs about 3 pounds, but the brain of a sperm whale weighs 17 pounds!
So, if size matters, the sperm whale brain is nearing 6 times that of ours!
Of course, it isn't necessarily the size, it is how you use it, although we do know
whales are very intelligent and emotional creatures.
5 – Washoe The Chimpanzee Washoe the Chimp was at the centre of an extended
study of animal language acquisition and is thought to be the first non human to learn
sign language.
Sadly she died in 2007, but she has an amazing history.
One of the researchers working with Washoe suffered a miscarriage, and when she returned
to work, she told Washoe what had happened, and the chimp responded by signing cry, then
drawing a tear down the ladies face.
Chimps don't shed tears, so this was an additional insight into human emotion.
4 - Alex the African Grey Parrot Unfortunately Alex passed away in 2007 at
the ripe old age of 31, but throughout his life he was known as one of the smartest animals
in the world.
Some say he possessed the emotion and cognative understanding of a human toddler.
Scientists studying Alex came to the realisation that birds, on a basic level, are able to
reason with humans and understand language on a basic level.
Alex had a vocabulary of over 100 words and learned the word grey by looking in a mirror
and asking what colour?
Alex also understood the concept of nothing, which is pretty deep!
Say hello to Koko the Gorilla who has mastered sign language at number 3
So we talked about Washoe earlier, but Koko has taken animal language cognition even further.
46 year old Koko lives at San Francisco Zoo and is able to speak a modified version of
American Sign Language, which is more than I can do!
Apparently Koko understand 2000 words in English as well as the signs.
Koko was taught by an amazing woman called Penny Patterson, in what started as a PHD
but turned into a life long development quest.
Meet Suda the Painting Elephant at number 2
Her she is, a bonafide artist, which is more than a lot of us can say for ourselves.
She uses her trunk to paint, but it isn't just random smears on a canvas, she actually
creates images.
She likes painting other elephants, she likes creating self portraits, she likes painting
little scenes.
What an absolute babe!
Finally, coming into number one...
Kanzi the Bonobo
Kanzi is a 37 year old male Bonobo, a endangered great ape.
Kanzi is thought to be the most intelligent animal in the world and is able to communicate
with humans using a symbols keyboard.
Kanzi touched symbols for marshmallows and fire whilst on a woodland outing and then
snapped twigs and used matches to start a fore of his own, roasting his own marshmallows.
There is even a video of him doing it!
He is also able to cook omelettes and complete the arcade game, Pacman.
WHAT!
So …. That was the Top 10 Animals who are smarter than you!
What did you think to this list?
Let me know in the comments section below!
Do you know any particularly smart animals ?

Cannabis Church SUES San Diego After Police Raid For Violating Religious Freedom - Duration: 2:54.
Cannabis Church, there was a raid on these folks they call The Cannabis Church.
And they're saying that the police came in.
They took $30,000.
They took cannabis.
They cleaned them up.
They just said, "You're out of business."
Well, the group is saying, "No, we're not out of business because we're a church.
We're a cannabis church.
We have an association of faith and we have the right to protection as a church."
It's really no different.
It's no different from the Rastafarians.
The Rastafarians say, "We have a right to use marijuana."
These people are saying the same thing.
They're saying, "Look."
This isn't ... Yeah.
Yeah.
This hasn't been tested.
Here's the problem they have with this.
Okay, so get ready if you're part of the Cannabis Church.
Dude.
It's clever.
It's clever.
It is clever.
You've got to give it to them.
But the dude abides and all that, I don't think the dude's going to abide here because
what you're going to find is that there are statutes in place.
There's state statute.
The statute says that you have to comply with certain registration, certain tax requirements,
certain health requirements.
There's all these things you have to do before you can call yourself a church.
It's a pretty lengthy process.
And in addition to that, you have to do those things in order to sell cannabis.
So it's kind of a loser, I think.
I don't think they're going to prevail on the first ... On this idea of religion.
But I wonder.
As I looked at this story, I kind of wondered.
Is this Sessions overreacting?
Is this part of Sessions saying, "We're going to clamp down on marijuana out in California
because they're ignoring us"?
What's your take?
[crosstalk 00:01:37] easy target off the, as far as somebody claiming this is a religion.
I think they went a little too far.
It could be Sessions.
I'll tell you what, though, I don't think that they needed to push the church issue.
They're in California.
It doesn't really make any sense.
Well, I mean maybe somebody says, the ACLU says, "Well, we want to test and see if you've
got a right under church."
Hey, listen.
With Scientology, Scientology is a religion if you look at the IRS and you look at the
way the government looks at Scientology.
And from whatever planet Scientology comes from, they feel like they have enough, "Yeah,
we can qualify as religion."
I think this is a loser.
But I think under the right circumstances, I think it probably could've prevailed.
But it had to be set up better.
You had to at least comply with statutory ... When you say ... We have to actually be
set up as a church and we have to say that maybe cannabis was part of sacrament, like
the Catholic Church may say wine is part of the sacrament.
They say cannabis is part of the-
Was it the feds that went after him or was it the local sheriff's department?
Because I think either way, it really is kind of a crazy story that they've decided to ...
Let's follow this one and see whether The Cannabis Church makes it through this one.

What is SafePlus? - Duration: 22:30.
Zane: Hi and welcome to your introduction to SafePlus. I'm Zane Yates and today I'm
here with Malcolm MacMillan from WorkSafe g'day Malcolm.
Malcolm: Hi.
Zane: And we're going to be
talking about all the things you need to know around SafePlus, it's evolution
and how it got to you, being here today. I guess, right?
Malcolm: Correct.
Zane: So let's get into it straight away so what is SafePlus?
Malcolm: Yeah great question Zane.
First I think it's fundamentally two things and perhaps for the first time in
New Zealand it's a nationally consistent authoritative kind of credible trusted
definition of what good health and safety looks like and when I use the term
'good', I mean best practice health and safety beyond minimum legal compliance.
Businesses have been kind of asking for a consistent approach and definition of that,
so we think we can deliver that, and then secondly it's a performance
improvement tool so it's a product that can help businesses to help themselves,
identify their strengths and weaknesses and support them to make the changes
necessary and support the continuous improvement activities and go on a
journey towards excellence and health and safety.
Zane: Great, so it sounds like this
is a progress for New Zealand really, in relation to 'good'.
Malcolm: Correct.
Zane: So if we're talking about what good is then can you give me a bit of an example of what SafePlus
isn't intended to do just because some time that's helps clarify things as well.
Malcolm: Yes, so what I think SafePlus is not is it's not a traditional
compliance audit scheme or service or product. It takes a different type of
assessment approach and it's a behavioural evaluative and deliberately
quite consultative advisory assessment approach and it's quite
different to traditional compliance audit.
Zane: It sounds different.
Malcolm: Documented manuals and
policies and procedures have their place, don't get me wrong, but that's not the
primary focus of SafePlus. The Assessors are, not literally, but you know, walking past
those manuals on the shelf and getting to the frontline and talking to people,
people, people. Focusing on the people in the business so what are the
behaviours, what are the attitudes, what are the perceptions.
What's the culture? What are the values around health and safety
focusing all those human factor issues.
Zane: Okay, so you're talking about lifting
performance there and that it is not about audits and manuals and all that kind of
thing. So how just start developing this tool?
Malcolm: Yes, so it's had a really long
gestation period, it goes way back. If we go back in history there was the Pike River
disaster and then there was a Royal Commission inquiry into that.
That identified that we had some failings in the whole health and safety system in
New Zealand. There was an independent task force appointed by the government of the
day to look into that, they made a number of recommendations that are
effectively the genesis of SafePlus today. They said we should have a
performance improvement initiative that can help businesses that goes beyond
compliance, so government had some health and safety reforms and some
recommendations to kind of go away and design and test and come back with some
advice around what could something be in this space, and so WorkSafe, ACC and the
Ministry of Business Innovation and Employment were tasked with designing and
developing what we now have today is SafePlus. We've spent a number
of years kind of working with industry to do that. It's been genuinely quite a
collaborative approach. We've set up expert
advisory groups, industry reference groups and business and worker
representatives and designed and tested the stuff over a number of years.
Zane: Okay so it sounds like this isn't something that's not a flash in the pan it hasn't
happened overnight. One of the things you mentioned there was that
you've worked with industry and what did you learn as you tested it.
You said testing, did you learn anything and if so what's that changed?
Malcolm: Yeah, so we've ran a big pilot back in late 2015 through the middle of 2016.
95 Businesses participated in that across seven different sectors so
construction, agriculture, transport forestry, the list goes on quite a few
sectors to give this a really good road test and see if it was going to work, and
we were piloting and kind of testing the effectiveness of the SafePlus tool its
relevance and currency in a New Zealand market because we've done a lot of
international research around what makes up 'good' but we wanted to test it on the
New Zealand market and make sure it was kind of appropriate. Value for money
you know, is this something that businesses would value and be prepared
to pay for, and it's kind of effectiveness,
could this make a difference. There were learnings out of that pilot.
Businesses kind of fundamentally came back and said, Yes we like this.
Its different, it's different to a traditional audit approach we like that
it's behavioral and its assessment approach and that you're looking at the
people human factors that we talked about. They did value it and said,
yes we would actually be prepared to pay for this in future so we thought it was good.
Zane: That is kind of useful! Malcolm: Biggest measure of success perhaps.
They like that it engaged with workers and the workers were involved in it. Its very worker
friendly and that the workers felt the experience. So it wasn't
something that sat away in an office you know, reading through manuals and all that,
just engage with senior managers. Workers are involved in the SafePlus
experience and businesses like that. They felt it was a really good worker
engagement exercise so it enabled them to have a conversation with their
workers and hear from their workers. They really liked the worker
engagement aspect to it. And they liked the independence.
They like that it could give them some confidence about, are we doing the right
things? are we investing a health and safety dollar wisely? what should we do
to improve? and then this could give them that sort of consultative an advisory factor.
They cared less about the stars, or the badge, or the certificate on the wall.
They wanted the 'how to' factor. We know we need to improve we don't know
how or where, we don't know what they would look like if we were doing it well
and we don't know where to start. So if you could bring us that 'how to' factor
that's the real value in SafePlus for businesses.
Zane: Just switching hats for a moment,
if I'm thinking as a business owner of those target markets what am I
going to benefit from it? I understand there was this tool there and I can have
an assessor come in and help out, but what are the real business benefits of this?
Malcolm: I mean that all goes to the value proposition of SafePlus.
That's different for different businesses. There'll be some businesses,
that are here generally, they want the 'how to' factor They want the advice and guidance and
that's their primary reason for using SafePlus and climbing into that.
Have some independent qualified person come into our business, look at where and how well
we're performing and where we have strengths and weaknesses and provide us
with that advice around how to improve.
That'll be how I would like to think, that it is there for most businesses that use this, because that's its fundamental
purpose and the reason for being, a performance improvement tool.
There'll be businesses,
that are driven by the kind of business confidence and maybe the assurance factor.
Help us fulfill our due diligence obligations as a director or
board member or an executive in the business, in the same way that businesses
go out and hire the independent financial institutes to get
financial audits. This could be a way of having an independent perspective and
look at how well are we doing. Is management taking the mickey?
I want to know from someone qualified and independent, how well are we doing?
So they'll want their business confidence factor. They'll want to know, yip we're doing
really well here or, if we are not, we want to know about it coming from a risk
management benefit. I think there'll be some businesses that want
the employer of choice factor. They say, we take the stuff seriously and we
actually want to show our workers that we do that. SafePlus is a very
tangible way of showing workers that you're taking health or safety seriously
workers are involved in it.
Zane: Because they're part of it, and this is not a little office somewhere.
This is, we are talking to people.
Malcolm: Workers are all engaged in the SafePlus experience, they get to see and feel and
it brings a bit of trust and confidence from the workers that their employer
is taking a stuff seriously, cares about them and cares about their
health and safety and you know with that comes all those sort of an employer of
choice benefits around staff acquisition and retention. We'd like to think
that it's going to be effective at helping businesses improve their
health and safety, of course that's their primary overall objective and with
doing health and safety well, we know that health and safety,
doing it well as good for business you know, there's the productivity gains
you can get when you're doing stuff well and you're not having the accidents or
causing the harm on-site, there's the avoidance of the cost of failure when
things go wrong. Just doing health and safety well is good for business
We can help you with that and some of those productivity gains
Zane: So I can see a lot of stuff, and as a business owner, that they can look at or
in a leadership team this is really useful, I guess workers have to be
involved with this. What's in it for the workers is the same kind of level of
drive there for workers?
Malcolm: Yes, so there are benefits of course for workers as there should be.
I'll start at the top you know, this is about helping
make the workplace safer and healthier. That's fundamentally what it's all about.
If SafePlus is effective in its implementation it will make the workplace effective
or safer and less risk of harm so that's there.
Again I think it's around some of that confidence and knowing that your employer takes this stuff seriously
and also that you're being heard and listened to and you're having a say in
health and safety and that you're engaging with your your bosses and that
you're helping provide an input into the health and safety management
and approach to their business. So those benefits are there, being heard and listened
to and being cared about I think of some of the workers benefits.
Zane: I love the word care because it's so important in what we do isn't it and making sure that
there is a key part of it. I can see businesses get benefits, I can see
workers get benefits from what you said there but why is the Crown involved in
all of this? Why have you decided that this is an important place to actually
stick your all in?
Malcolm: So, many will be aware that there are health and safety
reforms at play and I think the government's try to do a couple of
things here. We try to change the culture of health and safety in New
Zealand businesses generally, and SafePlus is one of a number of initiatives
that the government's doing around improving health and safety performance
in culture around health and safety in New Zealand businesses, so this is
deliberately behavioral and focusing on the people and those culture and value
issues and that's where you've got to focus if you want to change culture
around health and safety. Government's got some big goals around
reducing workplace harm and accidents by 25 percent by 2020 so this is one of a
number of initiatives contributing towards that. Interests those huge
social and economic costs of when things go wrong and the cost of poor
performance or any Health and Safety whether it's the health system or our
social system so we're trying to just reduce all of those costs prosperity and
productivity in New Zealand, by getting health and safe right.
Government's got a number of kind of angles that we're coming at this
from and to help businesses to help themselves. It's a voluntary initiative
so it's the businesses that can see the benefits and want to use this to kind of
help themselves to get there.
Zane: So with the number of initiatives that are out there
because frankly you know every day something is popping up
why choose SafePlus?
Malcolm: I think there's a few couple reasons to that and some of
our points of difference, if you like, this is not a health and safety checking
or an audit product so this is genuinely an educator performance improvement tool.
So if a business wants some help to improve their health and safety then we
got the product for them. Its uses that behavioral and focus
on the human factors and that's where we think that you can make a difference and
really get some performance improvements if you focus in on the people and whats
driving some of those behaviors and practices. It's Crown endorsed,
the Crown has worked hard to develop this and with industry so
businesses can have some confidence and trust that it's gonna be here tomorrow
you know it's around for a while and you know this is the Crown putting a
stake in the ground and saying actually this is our definition of what good
looks like. If you want to strive towards excellence and best practice,
then we have defined that for you and you can have some confidence around that.
We can get that national consistency that's often missing around that.
Zane: Yes, and I guess and saying that that investment then everything you do is
getting you closer towards good, whereas other initiatives perhaps might not be
moving you on the same direction.
Malcolm:And some are focusing around that minimum
compliance and that's okay if you're in a space where you need to you know just
struggling to meet minimum compliance then maybe another product is
appropriate for you and maybe SafePlus is not you because you're not quite at
this space to be aiming for excellence. Zane: That is a great point
Malcolm: So SafePlus is definitely for those that want to go on
a journey towards excellence and best practice around health and safety
Zane: Awesome so we know a huge amount about the intent and the why and all that kind
of stuff but, how does it actually work?
Malcolm: So very briefly we've got a framework
Zane: Yes,
Malcolm: Ten performance requirements across three key areas.
Leadership, Worker Engagement and Risk Management, and a whole bunch of
performance requirements in there that we can use to assess a business their
performance but importantly package advice and guidance around those ten
performance requirements. This is what good looks like in your business with
your Agriculture, Forestry, Manufacturing Construction.
Customized kind of definitions of what that stuff looks like in practice.
Secondly and quite importantly I think for SafePlus we've got this
maturity scale built into it. Three levels kept a nice and simple.
We've packaged it up as develop, performing and leading. And that's important for a
couple of reasons we can cater to businesses at different levels of
maturity and performance around health and safety. If you're beyond compliance
but, you know, maybe just, then the developing level is going to offer you a
lot of advice and guidance that's pitched right for you we're not going to
have Assessors giving people an aspirational recommendations and best
practice that's really beyond the capability or the level that a business is at.
We will packaged up stuff in the developing space to help them get to
the next level and those that are at the other end of the maturity scale and
performance those that are exemplars and healthy safety. We can accommodate them
in their performing level and we can give them the recognition that they need
There's always room to improve so we can give them sensible advice around how
to improve in those areas they might need to still work on so that
maturity scale is really important to give businesses the right advice and
guidance back, and it's also a useful measuring stick for where are you on the
journey towards excellence. Are you developing performing or are you leading?
Zane: Absolutely, so we've got this tool that's quite flexible. I guess the next question
is, well who's going to actually use this assessment tool in a business,
and what kind of skills do they need?
Malcolm: When we ran the pilot, a key learning from our
pilot and from businesses, was that they liked this tool, they liked the approach
the assessment, they liked the advisory aspect of it.
They said to us, and we agree, the key to the success of this will be the capability of those
that deliver it, and those are those Assessors that are out there using this
and providing that advice. So that's why we have this accreditation system.
Its around the defined competencies that they need to have and we go through
the process of assessing those and we train them in the tool and it's around
ensuring that we get the right people out there using this. They can do those
behavioral and evaluative assessments.
They can engage and have a strong business acumen that understand
and are technical experts, around health and safety.
I call it the 'nigel latter' factor. If they can see and understand and identify human behaviors
and can dissect practice, What's the behavior that's behind their
practice? What's the attitude that might be behind their behaviour?
What's the cultural values that are at play in the organization that are impacting on this,
perhaps poor practice?
Zane: It's a special type of person doesn't it really you've
kind of named some three key factors there but the goal I guess is to get to
the heart of what's going on in their business?
Malcolm: Correct, yes so the Assessors
are critical to the success of this. It will be a huge success based largely on
the capability those Assessors and how well they deliver this.
Zane: Obviously we've got assessors here today and that are watching this what are some of the
things that you want to make sure that they are thinking about before that
assessment ever takes place and the scoping kind of phase can we stuff it up?
Malcolm: So that front end conversation
that they need to have of the business is critical to the whole experience.
There will be businesses of all different shapes and sizes that have different risk
profiles that have different business activities across different sites or
locations so the fronting conversation with the
business is really important to identify the key risks the critical risks that
they're going to focus on. They work out the scope of the assessment component of this.
Work out whether they need multiple Assessors
and for larger businesses we're really encouraging that the team's
have more than one accredited Assessor on it.
There is nothing more valuable than two sets of eyes, you know, you can bounce stuff off each other.
You can cover more ground so we encourage that. It won't always be necessary but we
do want to encourage that. There'll be times depending on the
business activity when technical experts or subject matter experts might be
needed to come in as well. Whether they be a technical health and safety risk or
a business risk like risk management and measures and things like that.
Assessors will need to, after talking to a business, do I have the
right skills and experience for this and if I don't have a you know top those up
and have I got the right team makeup to get the coverage necessary.
Assessors will need to climb into issues like sampling, and how do I do that.
Remembering that this is about providing advice and guidance so
they just need to get enough of a picture around the key issues in those
strengths and weaknesses to provide the advice and guidance that will then
probably be useful across the whole business.
Even though they've not seen the whole business.
Zane: So it's not saying that I've got to visit every single site to give an accurate assessment
or that you even after pinpoint accuracy here are we?
Malcolm: Correct.
Zane: Okay that's cool, so it sounds like that
they've got a really important part to play in that scoping process, in it is
time well spent and I guess working with the business to make them very clearly
understand that as important, this is not just give me a price and rip into it.
This is we need scope this well.
Malcolm: It's about a really important conversation
with a business around what is it you want out of this?
What are your critical risks and tell me about your business and the
business activities you do and yes, it's really important to their front end conversation.
Zane: To make all of this work this isn't just about the Assessor
They've got a fabulous, and a real critical role because there's a front
end of this thing out there with the people building those relationships but
tell me about the process leading up, who else is involved?
Malcolm: In terms of the whole SafePlus system there are a number of other parties.
WorkSafe is the primary government agency that's administering this and we're the sort of
system or thought leadership role if you like.
WorkSafe's role is to ensure that this stays current and accurate in terms
of collateral and the framework and the definition of good and maintain and
update that as it needs to be. To continue to pump out resources tools
guidance and for both businesses and accredited Assessors and so that's our kind of role.
There's the accreditation process and insuring that we have the
right people who are accredited Assessors and checking their
competencies and and reassessing those at periods of time. And then in the middle
of that we've got the training provider as well so they're around teaching them
around the tool and how to deliver the behavior on evaluative assessments.
Those are a kind of key roles I think we've got WorkSafe is the kind of
thought leader system leadership creditation body our training provider
and probably most importantly as we've got our creditor Assessors who are the
delivery arm of all of us that are out there providing the consultant of an advisory services.
Zane: So while the process might feel quite rigorous to go through
and there are a number of hurdles to get past to become a accredited Assessor,
at the end of it you know that you're a pretty special person actually.
You've got the skills that can make a difference to lifting New Zealand's
health and safety performance which is really super good
Malcolm: Correct.
Zane: So once I've been through that process and I've got their ticket so to speak,
are they just left on their own set free or is there more support or how does it work?
Malcolm: Back at Worksafe we've got this role of staying connected
with them and providing more advice and guidance, tools and collateral
as required. We're gonna take the learning to get a bit of market
intelligence back from those Assessors at periods of time. You know, what are the
trends and issues that we're seeing and what do you need what's working
well and what could be improved. We want to stay connected with them.
We've got a site that we are using to house material and collateral and guidance and
tools and resources and we'll grow that collection of the material and I guess
we're staying across what's good look like and best practice and sharing that
information back with the accredited Assessors so that's our
challenge is to stay connected with them and support them to do their role really well.
Zane: Ok, so there's definitely that support there, they are not flying blind so to speak.
Malcolm: Correct.
Zane: So I've learned a lot Malcolm thank you very much and just to finish
off though if you would have talked to me as an Assessor and just tell me what
you want me to remember that's at the heart of SafePlus, what the key things be?
Malcolm: I think it's really important for all Assessors to remember that the
fundamental value and reason for being around SafePlus is around the educator
advice and guidance, so don't deliver a traditional compliance audit approach
Do the behavioural and evaluative assessment. Focus on the people
and the people issues in some of those behaviours and culture and value issues.
Unashamedly provide lots of advice and guidance.
This is not about past fail, tick box, it's about identifying
the strengths and giving that business the feedback, here is where you are doing really well,
and here's where you need to and could improve and here's what improving
could look like. So give them the sensible and tailored and relevant and
recommendations around how to improve and give them the advice and guidance
there's best practice guidance that we include in the toolkit around what good
looks like when you're doing that. Jam-pack your assessment reports with
lots of advice and guidance because that's the real value to help that
business move towards excellence and continue their
journey towards that.
Zane:Well it's pretty clear that you're passionate about
SafePlus and making this performance switch from a traditional approach to a
new approach so I guess that the advisers here today have got a great
opportunity to jump on board and be part of making the change to how well we do
safety New Zealand.
Thanks for your time
Malcolm: Thank you,
Have a great course team.

[HPA Q&A] Can you find MBT while road tuning? | Ignition Tuning - Duration: 2:14.
- Justice has asked, is there any way to do this MBT test
on a road tune?
No unfortunately not and this is really one of the main
problems when it comes to performing our tuning
on the road.
Of course we would need something that's going
to give us instantaneous feedback about the amount
of torque the engine is producing while we're
adjusting the ignition timing and that's really impossible
out on the road.
So this is one of the downsides of road tuning,
we're not getting that instant feedback but of course
if we don't have access to a dyno then we may
have no opportunity but to do this.
Now while there are some downsides,
what we actually find though is particularly if we're tuning
on pump fuel and definitely if we're tuning
an engine that's running on pump fuel
that's turbocharged or supercharged,
we're going to find that most of those engines
will be what I refer to as knock limited.
So what I mean by this that when we're advancing
the timing on the dyno to find MBT,
we're gonna find that before we get to MBT timing,
so our torque is still increasing every time
we advance the timing a degree or two,
we're going to find that the engine starts
to suffer from knock or detonation.
Now this is an abnormal type of combustion
that can be very damaging to our engine.
So when we find that onset of knock or detonation,
we can't advance the timing any further,
in fact we need to retard the timing.
Now we're going to find that if that's the case,
the knock threshold becomes our limiting factor
for how much timing we can use.
And this is gonna be the same regardless
whether we're on the dyno,
or out on the road.
So if we're tuning these sorts of engines,
we can actually find that the sort of results we get
from our ignition tuning are almost identical
on the road or the dyno.
