I've done it again. I've downsized my books by about 50%.
This time I've just tackled the standalone since I did go ahead and do
all of the wrappings for the series books. Each month I'm gonna pull out at least
three series and give them all at least a chapter and then decide if I'm gonna
keep that series or not. I wanted to show you guys my progress. Yesterday I
had a total of 288 unread books that were stand-alones. Today I have went
through those again and now I have 136 stand-alones. That's about 50% that I got
rid of. I now have a total of 85 young adult books that are stand-alones, three
classic Barnes & Noble edition bound ups of short stories poems and the Grimm's
fairy tales, and 48 adult books. I'm going to show you guys which books I kept
and which books I got rid of in a very brief fashion.
First we have my young adults and the bind up editions that I talked about. I
didn't include audiobooks in the count, but those are the audio books
that I own physically with the exception of one but I've already downloaded it
onto my computer so I'll just listen to it that way. Then we have the A's through
the E's. That's what I've kept. Let me know if you've read any of these and
which ones I should read right away. I have my F's through S's. Here we
have the last bit of the alphabet. The last section is empty so I did good. Moving
on to my adult starting from the bottom nothing, nothing, nothing for the third
one. I only have two halves of the adult. M all the way through Z and then
the one above that is A to L. Those are my adult books. The ones that are wrapped
are one's I've gotten this year so I wanted to
make sure that those are priority when I am picking out books. These are the ones I
decided to part with. That's a lot of books. Most of them were ones that are still
fairly newer like that one's fairly newer but these were mostly impulse buys
from book outlet. Some of them I did get at Barnes & Noble and pay like full
price but I'm just at the point where I'm ready to part. I don't want to be
stressed out by having a ton of books that I need to read.
It's gonna be a lot easier on me if I get rid of anything that I look at and
just I'm not feeling it or don't really know that much about it so that I could
focus on the books that are really going to make me happy. Some of these are even
signed editions where I actually met the authors and their personalized, like the
Alex Flinn ones. Those both are personalized and signed. She
doesn't go to that many events so that's kind of a unique thing that I have, but I
decided to go ahead and get rid of those books as well because there's just no reason to
keep it even though it's a signed edition if I'm not gonna read it or I'm
going to be making myself read it but I'm not really in the mood for it
anymore. There's already a movie for Beastly so I can just watch the
movie to get the same storyline or at least the gist or the feel of the
storyline. That's how it was with some of my newer books, like the DUFF. I'm
like I have the movie so I will just watch the movie. Let me know if you have
any advice for me when it comes to series and figuring out how to get rid
of those. What do you think about me getting rid of half of the books in one
go and which books you would like for me to hurry up and read and review, or if
you see any books that I kept or that you feel like are horrible or the
authors are bad people or something like that let me know that down below in the
comments and that should help me figure out how I
want to arrange them and get them out of the way and see which ones I really
enjoy or not. Thanks for watching. It's my birthday today as I'm recording this so
yeah I'm 28 now and I've decided on my birthday to go through books. I'm weird.
And then go to work because that's just how I roll I guess. Bye. Tell me if you're
looking forward to unwrappings because I got a lot of stuff to unwrap.
