Fun Facts about Frogs.

Frogs can be found on every continent on earth except for Antarctica!

Many species of frogs are under threat of extinction due to human activity.

Pollution from chemicals in human wastewater thought to be a significant factor in the

wellbeing of a frog.

There are around 4700 different species of Frogs found all over the world.

From Golden spotted frogs to green tree frogs, every frog has a unique croak.

Different species of frogs are native to different places all around the world.

What type of frogs do you have in your local area?

Some frogs can jump 30 times the length of their body!

Frogs use this extreme ability to escape from predators who love eating frogs.

Mammals, reptiles and birds all like to snack on frogs if given the opportunity.

Did you know a group of frogs is called an army.

Despite being an army, frogs don't usually fight together.

Male frogs however do fight each other for territory and for a mate.

Scientists have recently discovered a use for the poison from the skin of some frogs.

This toxin from a south American frog is being explored as a painkiller that could be as

powerful as morphine.

Frogs don't need to drink water!

A frog can absorb all of the water that it needs through its skin.

When a frog sleeps, they keep their eyes open!

You might find it hard to sneak up on a sleeping frog.

The poison of the golden dart frog is the deadliest frog poison in the world.

One of these frogs has enough poison to kill 1000 humans!

Don't kiss this deadly frog.

World famous fictional frogs include: Jeremiah the Bullfrog, the Crazy Frog, and Kermit the

Frog!

How to make Chocolate Custard Tart| Eggless No Bake recipe! - Duration: 7:14.

For the custard

half a liter of milk

this is at room temperature

and I've take out

half a cup

from the saucepan

3 tbsp of vanilla custard powder

add in

2 tbsp of

cocoa powder

add in some milk

to make a thick paste

Put the saucepan

on low heat

and add in

3 to 4 tbsp

of caster sugar or superfine sugar

Just keep stirring the milk

so that the sugar

doesn't burn at the bottom

After about a minute

the sugar would have dissolved

and it's time

to add in the chocolate paste

quickly resume the stirring

keep cooking this

on the low heat

and it'll be ready as soon

as it starts to thicken

and comes to just the boil

it has started to coat the whisk

That's about done

Let's check

yes

Did you see the bubble?

It's just come to the boil

so just turn off the heat

and let it cool down

Make sure

to cover the surface with cling film

Let the film touch the custard

and we'll let it cool

I'm using coconut biscuits

that I've made into crumbs for the base

you could use digestive biscuits

or arrowroot biscuit in its place

Take some of the crumbs

in a food processor or a mixie jar

add in a tablespoon of cocoa powder

and just run this

This is what we get

I'll add this

into the rest of the crumbs

If you're using a chocolate biscuit

then there's no need for you

to add in the cocoa powder

Quickly mix this up

so that it's well incorporated

You'll also need some melted butter

Add in

about 3 tbsp of melted butter

mix it and see how it goes

you can always add in more later

So, that's about 3 1/2 tblsp of butter

Once it resembles wet sand

then you know that it's ready

I have these mini tart shells (3")

with a loose bottom that I'm going to use

Add in some of the crumb mix

spread it out

to line the base

and the sides

Just take your time

with a spoon

to guide the biscuit crumbs

onto the sides as well

press hard

That's one done

Get on with the rest

Once they are all done

just put them in the fridge

for at least half an hour to chill

The custard has cooled down

Use a whisk

to mix it up

till it's nice and smooth

I've taken out about a cup of the custard

and to this

I'll add in some whipped cream

and mix it in

or rather fold it in lightly

to get mousse

I just got the bases out of the fridge

and I'll fill

one of the

tarts

with the custard

smooth out the top as best as you can

using a spoon

and I'l fill the rest of them

with the mousse

smooth out the top

and put them in the fridge for about 10 to 15 mins

For the first one

I'll just add in

a few cherries

and with some whipped cream

I'll just

pipe some stars

there you have the first one

I have some ganache

in a piping bag

and I'll just do a zig zag

I'll do a simple border for this one

choco chips

For the third one

I'm doing a ganche net on top

I'll just draw a border

with the ganache

to make it look neat

that's another one done

I'll keep them in the fridge till it's time

for me to serve them

These tarts may be topped with a variety of

fruits, nuts, chocolates

and candies

You could use edible decoration

to make them look pretty!

The queen's reproductive career : when to start ? (2019) - Duration: 3:51.

Hello everyone ! I'm Dr E !

I often get questions around the cat's reproductive career.

So in today's video,

we are going to discuss,

through a clinical case,

when you should start breeding.

So one night, a breeder called us because

one of his queen was experiencing difficulties

to give birth.

When we have doubts in these cases,

I always recommend people to call

and go to a veterinary clinic

because we need to perform some specific tests

to make sure everything is ok

and to assess the situation properly.

So they drove to the clinic,

they brought us the queen,

and we could see on X-rays that the queen had 2 kittens,

and she indeed had difficulties to give birth.

She was pushing, pushing, pushing

but nothing was going out...

So we ended up doing a C-section in this queen,

and the story has a happy ending

because we delivered 2 healthy kittens

that were ok and had no issues and

the mother was fine,

she woke up properly and everybody went back home

and everything was perfect.

The key element I want you to focus on here is this one:

this queen was 8 months old.

She was very young.

And again this was an accident here,

the owners did not realize

she had been bred by a male,

but she was 8 months old.

So think about it. Very young queen.

Remember that some queens can start cycling at 4 months of age

sometimes inside your cattery.

So very young queen,

the pelvis had not reached its adult conformation yet.

So she had a very narrow pelvis.

The capacity of ovulation was certainly limited,

very often the first ovulations

don't lead to production of a lot of oocytes, a lot of eggs,

so again, we might end up with a small litter.

And when you have a small litter like that typically

the kittens get bigger because there is no uterine competition,

all the food, all the energy that the uterus transfers to the kitten is for them.

So bigger kittens, very narrow pelvis,

you have all the elements here to end up dealing with dystocia.

What we call difficulties to give birth.

I used to say that, when I perform a C-section in a queen,

I usually perform at the same time,

100 C-sections in female dogs.

Because it is not common to perform C-section in queens.

Again, you know this happens,

when you breed cats,

you will have sometimes to ask your veterinarian to perform a C-section in queens

but it is not that common in veterinary medicine.

In fact there is even a study showing that 0.4% of

queens will exhibit difficulties to give birth.

That's...peanuts !

0.4% is nothing if you compare to dogs,

in dogs it's 15%.

So you see, in my experience,

all the cases where I had to perform a C-section in queens

were usually on very young queens that were bred

at their first season.

And very often it was an accident.

But keep this in mind :

if you start breeding them too early,.

if you start breeding them before they reach their adult size,

well you might end up with difficulties to give birth

and this is important because

difficulties to give birth directly influences neonatal mortality.

So the more difficult the kittening, the higher the neonatal mortality rate.
