Fun Facts about Frogs.
Frogs can be found on every continent on earth except for Antarctica!
Many species of frogs are under threat of extinction due to human activity.
Pollution from chemicals in human wastewater thought to be a significant factor in the
wellbeing of a frog.
There are around 4700 different species of Frogs found all over the world.
From Golden spotted frogs to green tree frogs, every frog has a unique croak.
Different species of frogs are native to different places all around the world.
What type of frogs do you have in your local area?
Some frogs can jump 30 times the length of their body!
Frogs use this extreme ability to escape from predators who love eating frogs.
Mammals, reptiles and birds all like to snack on frogs if given the opportunity.
Did you know a group of frogs is called an army.
Despite being an army, frogs don't usually fight together.
Male frogs however do fight each other for territory and for a mate.
Scientists have recently discovered a use for the poison from the skin of some frogs.
This toxin from a south American frog is being explored as a painkiller that could be as
powerful as morphine.
Frogs don't need to drink water!
A frog can absorb all of the water that it needs through its skin.
When a frog sleeps, they keep their eyes open!
You might find it hard to sneak up on a sleeping frog.
The poison of the golden dart frog is the deadliest frog poison in the world.
One of these frogs has enough poison to kill 1000 humans!

World famous fictional frogs include: Jeremiah the Bullfrog, the Crazy Frog, and Kermit the
Frog!
