Waching daily Feb 18 2019

Matt Hogan here from MoveMe Quotes and thanks for tuning in!

This is Episode #7 of our MoveMe Quote of the week series

and let's jump right into it!

Our quote this week is from Philip McGraw and it's a quick one,

"Life is managed, not cured."

I've had several conversations this week with people who felt like

their life was out of whack.

Who felt an incredible amount of anxiety and stress

in trying to get their life "fixed" and trying to get "it" figured out.

But the thing about life is that life isn't an "it"—

Life is a vast array of, "its."

Life is filled with endless possibilities and choices that we have to make every day.

And it's something that we have to learn how to manage better; how to balance better...

Not how to fix.

So, once we come to terms with that reality

then what we need to do is ask ourselves the right question.

The right question isn't, "How can I fix my life?"

The right question is, "How can I manage my life better."

And the best way to do that is to find clarity in your priorities.

Once you have a clear set of priorities it's much easier to take action and move forward.

Fogginess in mind leads to wandering, leads to drifting, leads to stagnation, and inaction.

Once we have clarity we know what we have to do and we do it.

For example,

I manage a martial arts school

and I manage all of the martial art instructors that teach all of the different ages in the school

and so part of my job

is to make sure that the instructors are in their best state

and they're in their best position to help those students.

So, I give the instructors a very clear set of priorities

that I want them to follow before they even step foot on the mat to teach.

My instructors know

that family comes first,

school and work—like self-improvement work—comes second,

training in martial arts comes third,

and then teaching in martial arts comes forth.

It's a very clear set of priorities that helps all of us

take better actions—if there's a family emergency then that presides

over everything else and that's what should be addressed first.

If there's a family gathering or a family occasion that would be meaningful to attend

then that's what presides first.

Second priority is schooling and education—self-education.

So if the instructors are in higher education—if they're in college

and they're trying to balance out courses with teaching,

then that's the second priority they need to make sure their self-education comes second

because they can only teach as good as they are.

And the better they become, the better instructor they'll be.

So that's always the second priority is getting your self-work done.

Third priority is training in martial arts,

Because you can't be a great martial arts instructor if you're not a great martial artist.

The last priority in this circumstance is then teaching.

It's a very clear set of priorities

it keeps the instructors on an optimal path

and it keeps everybody in balance

because we cover for each other when one of those other priorities

are in need or one of those other priorities fall in place for those

instructors to be called out.

So, what I recommend

is that you find a similar clarity

for other areas in your life.

What are your priorities and how does the list go?

What's your priority for family and work and self-improvement and training?

How do those priorities fall in your list?

And once you can clearly set them

then all you have to do is divvy up your time accordingly.

Make sure that you're...

if family is a priority, then your family is getting time divvied up to them.

If work is a priority then, or self-work is a priority —self-improvement—

then your self-improvement is getting a priority, is getting your time.

and so on and so forth.

Wherever you divvy up your time is ultimately how you're gonna end up spending your life.

So make sure that your daily priorities are a reflection

of how you want your life to be spent.

So, that's the thought for this week,

I hope you enjoyed this quote and I hope you enjoyed the thoughts that we're provoked from it.

If you enjoyed it, let us know by hitting that thumbs up button!

...Always appreciated.

And let us know in the comment section below what you thought...

Let us know what your priority list is and how you move forward in life with

clarity or let us know if you're having a hard time if you're struggling.

Maybe one of us can step in and help out and create a conversation that matters;

that might inspire somebody else.

So, thanks for watching!

And I look forward to seeing you guys again next week!

Take care.

Why You're Wrong About Fantasy ft. Jane 😱🧚✨| by Mysteries of Writing - Duration: 2:12.

oh you've got to love YA fantasy books

hello everyone I'm Chandra from

mysteries of writing if you're new to this channel welcome it's great to have you

here and today we're going to be talking about why adults who read fiction only

are wrong about fantasy YA books I've heard plenty of comments that put YA

fantasy books down so let's get to them Jane

I don't like fantasy books

everything just works out because of magic

I don't know what kind of rubbish

type books you're reading but not every fantasy book has a magical solution to

every problem there's never anything interesting in these books

they're just for kids

and nothing dramatic or interesting ever happens

hmm I'm not even sure if a really bad book could achieve this every book has

some form of dramatic scene it might be dramatically bad or interestingly boring but

it's got something interesting and something dramatic now let's just take

two good books that I did like for example Inkheart that's about a bunch

of book lovers that got kidnapped or take Six of Crows for example that's

about a whole heist there's never any serious real-world life type topics in

these books yet again I have no clue what you guys are reading have you even

picked up one of these books they're not all fun and games I tell you you just

simply cannot learn anything from them well then maybe that's your problem if

if you can't interpret what you're reading then I'm not entirely sure how you're

gonna find anything out of it but most books that are fantasy or fiction or

anything to be honest have some sort of lesson or something that you can

learn from anyways that's it for now yes yes, yes if you did enjoy this video please

don't forget to give it a big like share it with your friends and don't forget to

subscribe please share any of the comments that people say to you guys in

the comments down below

Samantha Morton breaks down The Walking Dead Alpha origin story - Duration: 10:54.

SPOILER ALERT: Read on only if you have already watched Sunday's "Omega" episode of The Walking Dead

The Walking Dead doesn't tend to give flashback episodes for new characters to explain their backstories — especially for characters from the comic book

But a notable exception was made on Sunday's "Omega" episode, where we learned what turned the new big bad into a zombie-skin-mask-wearing freakazoid

Last week we met a masked Alpha for the first time, and this week we got the origin story of how her new persona came to be

Through her daughter Lydia's (often mangled) memories, we discovered that Alpha and her family were holed up with other survivors in Baltimore after the apocalypse hit

When someone started panicking, she killed him. And then when her husband would not let her leave with their daughter when chaos broke out, she killed him too

She then told young Lydia to put on a zombie skin mask and the rest is history.  We spoke to Samantha Morton to find out what it was like cutting all her hair off on camera, and to get her take on the flashbacks and what they say about the woman behind the mask

(Also make sure to check out our previous chat where Morton discussed joining the show and her first few days on set

) Gene Page/AMC  ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: This is a pretty broad question, but what would you say it is we learn about Alpha from these flashbacks of her and her family just after the apocalypse started? SAMANTHA MORTON: I think, for her, something is triggered through the apocalypse

Maybe something that was laying dormant inside of her. Maybe we can look at her, childhood things that happened to her, and here she realizes that she's capable of doing really horrific things in order to survive and to [protect] her child

And most women out there, and men, would say that they would do anything for their child

You'd stand in front of a bus to protect your child. You'd do anything, and I think that what she realizes about herself is her ultimate confidence in survival and what she's willing to do

What is the breaking point for Alpha that starts her on the road to whom she is now? I think there's a trauma of what's happening, and that is stimulated through fear, what she's witnessed, and what's happening around her

That adrenaline inside. But it is about protecting her child and herself, and surviving, and watching people behave so stupidly

We see that scene where she kills that guy Ortiz who is freaking out and she says, "You're weak

You're pathetic and there is no room for you here," and smothers him. Is she even phased by that? Because assuming that is her first kill, you'd think there would be some sort of shock, but it doesn't appear to really phase her

It depends how they edited it, because I haven't seen it, and obviously you can do quite a few different takes

I don't watch myself, so you've seen how they've edited it, and the music, and all the rest of it

But I think I've imagined that she's killed animals before. She's hunted. She grew up in a rural area

She's badass in that way.  And maybe that is why she is a villain, as in she's the villain, but she doesn't think she's a villain

She's just doing what she has to do, and she's been really honest about it. He is pathetic

He is weak. This is a new world now, a new world order, and it's brutal, but this is her tribe, and this is how they're functioning

It's awful, actually. When I think of it, "Oh, my gosh!" But when I'm in Alpha head, it really is like…It's awful, but it makes sense to her

What was it like playing different versions of this character because of the unreliable narrator aspect of Lydia recounting these distorted memories? Did you have to adjust to that at all? Yeah, we did

It was fun. It's a dream within a dream within a flashback within a what is real? Because we all have that anyway

You can go into a room and have a meal with somebody, and both of those individuals have then said, "Okay, write down your versions of what happened at dinner and how you're feeling," and they'll come up with totally different interpretations

So I find all that fascinating. But, equally, there were times when there was a vagueness about it, so I was just being "Mother," pre-Alpha, you know?  So, let's talk about the hair

We see your hair at various lengths throughout the episode. Was that real and were you cutting it in stages while filming or had you already shaved it and those were wigs? No, that was my real hair

What we did, my hair was kind of down to my waist, and I stupidly cut it before going to Atlanta, thinking that would help me when I went bald

But I didn't realize we were going to go back, and that you saw the long hair. And so we decided that we were going to keep my hair, which was in a bob, and then just cut it on camera

Just go for it. Gene Page/AMC  What was that like? Oh, I loved it. It just feels very real, and what the audience is seeing is real, you know? And there's emotions about that, but the practicalities for pre-Alpha is that the hair, she's turning herself into something

She's metamorphosing from a caterpillar to a butterfly, but not the nicest butterfly, you know? She's completely changing who she is, and whether that's trauma and something to do with the brain, or that she just found her true self that she's able to be because of what's happening to the world

When we first see present-day Alpha show up at the Hilltop, it's without the mask and she has this dark makeup around the mouth and eyes

What can you say about that look that you all created? It's pretty striking. I think those guys are incredible, what they come up with

That's what the [makeup artists] want, and I love it. I think it's brilliant. The eyes are there because when she puts on the mask, they need to be hollow

So, yeah, I just think it's brilliant.  What was the reaction from other cast members and folks when you showed up for this scene looking like that? You know what? I think people do find her scary, so that's a good thing, I think

They genuinely do. So I'm chuffed with that because I can just be the character then

I don't have to kind of behave like some villain. I think you just be, don't you? And then I think all that makeup really helps

It's a bit mad.  Make sure to also read our episode Q&A with showrunner Angela Kang, and for more TWD scoop, follow Dalton on Twitter @DaltonRoss

Interview with Mike J. (G4 Owner) - 2016 - Duration: 3:20.

how long have you had your grader early part of the year

bought it in February so what have you found the different processes of how you

use to process your product to now? well I kind of I started off by hand grading for

sale and the smaller stuff we put down down the tube - yep - but with the bigger stuff

we'd have to hand grade to sale - yep - then I, I bought a weight grader. Chap

in Merimbula makes a weight grader where you put individual oysters on it

air shoots it down one of the four tubes

great little grader, bit slow though. Because you've got to handle every oyster.

So then, we got bigger and it was just seven days

a week and we started looking for a grader that would win us time back. So we

hunted around, weren't in a position to buy a new one so I hunted around for a

second hand one and eventually found one and since we've had it it's been

fantastic, free weekends, we did some harvest grade the other day which was

a two year old oyster, grading about a year before we sell it, big enough to go

through the machine well, we did 600 bags in two days, two of us

absolutely stunning, that was a week's work before

and it's just... it's just given us time if we wanted to grow more we certainly

could, without question, I couldn't put a percentage on that but the time we've

won back is worth its weight in gold and we find that anything under 35

millimeters total length, it's great to put down the tube, but as soon as you

get to 35 mil that thing chomps it up. so have you found, been able to have the spare time

you've been able to, obviously you've said you're getting weekends back occasionally but

yeah it's a whole series of things that once you get behind and it's so easy to

get behind in this game, talk to any oyster farmer, it's very difficult to catch up it's like this

huge effort to catch back up again so instead of chasing your tail all the time

you're going through your work you're thinning and all the rest of it you kind of

can plan ahead and so you're not chasing your tail you're ahead of the

game you're being proactive instead of reactive yeah and that's just such a

change because then you get a bit of slack time to do infrastructure work at

the moment we've won some time back so we're putting in more infrastructure, we're putting in

tumbler lines and a lot more long lines and making more gear before we would have been

struggling to do that I'd have to bring people in employ them to do and it's

that sort of time we've won back I've also got a cattle property so it gives

me the time to do a bit of mustering No you never get bored of grading oysters

my man reckons that's a cash register every time that alarm goes off

he reckons that's a cash register another full bag of oysters

Wife of Aurora massacre victim got text from husband I love you, Ive been sh0t at work New York D - Duration: 2:17.

Wife of Aurora massacre victim got text from husband I love you, Ive been sh0t at work New York D

For Terra Pinkard, the nightmare began with an ominous text from her husband: I love you, Ive been shot at work.

Pinkard would soon learn that her husband, Josh Pinkard, was among the five people killed when a co worker who was being terminated from Henry Pratt Co. opened fire. Pinkard, 37, was the manager of the plant, where water valves are made.

In a Facebook message posted on Sunday, Terra Pinkard said it took her several times reading it for it to hit me that it was real.

Then, she wrote, she started calling his phone. She texted and FaceTimed him — and got no response. She reached someone at the plant who told her she was barricaded in her room with police everywhere.

You guys. I cant even begin to start saying thank you for the love that has been poured out on us. Friday afternoon,...

Of course my heart dropped, Pinkard wrote. Then she said she loaded the couples three children into her car and drove toward the plant, but was stopped by an officer stationed at one of the closed streets, who could not provide any information.

So then she drove to two local hospitals but still could not get any news of her husband.

While waiting at the second hospital for news, chaplains, my pastor, neighbors, his coworkers, came to sit with me and hold my hand, she wrote. Hours later, an officer told her of a staging area for victims families. I dont know how my body drove itself there but it did, Pinkard wrote.

There, another officer read a list of fatalities; her husbands name was on it.

I immediately left and went to get my kids, she wrote. Out of state family members were still on flights into the Chicago area — Josh Pinkard hailed from the small town of Holly Pond, Ala., though his immediate family now lives in Oswego — so Terra Pinkard said her pastor supported her as she broke the news to her children.

I told my children that their dad did not make it and is in heaven with Jesus, she wrote. Ive never had to do something that hard.

Josh Pinkard had worked for Mueller Water Products, Pratts parent company, for at least a dozen years and started working in Aurora last April, according to his LinkedIn page. Loved ones say he was devoted to his wife and children and was a fan of sports teams from Mississippi State University, where he earned his bachelors degree.

I want to shout from the rooftops about how amazing Josh was! his wife wrote in a Facebook post Sunday. He was brilliant! The smartest person Ive ever met! My best friend! The man I would have leaned on during devastation like this who would tell me its ok Terra, it is all going to be fine. The man who was dying and found the clarity of mind for just a second to send me one last text to let me know he would always love me. This unbelievable person was robbed from us.

Authorities identified the other Henry Pratt Co. employees who were killed when gunman Gary Martin opened fire as Clayton Parks, 32, of Elgin; Trevor Wehner, 21, of Sheridan, Ill.; Russell Beyer, 47, of Yorkville; and Vicente Juarez, 54, of Oswego. Wehner was a Northern Illinois University student who had started an internship at Henry Pratt the day of the shooting.

Five Aurora officers were also injured when Martin opened fire on first responders. Four of those officers had been released from the hospital as of Sunday, officials said. Martin died at the scene in an exchange of gunfire with police, authorities said.
