For Terra Pinkard, the nightmare began with an ominous text from her husband: I love you, Ive been shot at work.

Pinkard would soon learn that her husband, Josh Pinkard, was among the five people killed when a co worker who was being terminated from Henry Pratt Co. opened fire. Pinkard, 37, was the manager of the plant, where water valves are made.

In a Facebook message posted on Sunday, Terra Pinkard said it took her several times reading it for it to hit me that it was real.

Then, she wrote, she started calling his phone. She texted and FaceTimed him — and got no response. She reached someone at the plant who told her she was barricaded in her room with police everywhere.

Of course my heart dropped, Pinkard wrote. Then she said she loaded the couples three children into her car and drove toward the plant, but was stopped by an officer stationed at one of the closed streets, who could not provide any information.

So then she drove to two local hospitals but still could not get any news of her husband.

While waiting at the second hospital for news, chaplains, my pastor, neighbors, his coworkers, came to sit with me and hold my hand, she wrote. Hours later, an officer told her of a staging area for victims families. I dont know how my body drove itself there but it did, Pinkard wrote.

There, another officer read a list of fatalities; her husbands name was on it.

I immediately left and went to get my kids, she wrote. Out of state family members were still on flights into the Chicago area — Josh Pinkard hailed from the small town of Holly Pond, Ala., though his immediate family now lives in Oswego — so Terra Pinkard said her pastor supported her as she broke the news to her children.

I told my children that their dad did not make it and is in heaven with Jesus, she wrote. Ive never had to do something that hard.

Josh Pinkard had worked for Mueller Water Products, Pratts parent company, for at least a dozen years and started working in Aurora last April, according to his LinkedIn page. Loved ones say he was devoted to his wife and children and was a fan of sports teams from Mississippi State University, where he earned his bachelors degree.

I want to shout from the rooftops about how amazing Josh was! his wife wrote in a Facebook post Sunday. He was brilliant! The smartest person Ive ever met! My best friend! The man I would have leaned on during devastation like this who would tell me its ok Terra, it is all going to be fine. The man who was dying and found the clarity of mind for just a second to send me one last text to let me know he would always love me. This unbelievable person was robbed from us.

Authorities identified the other Henry Pratt Co. employees who were killed when gunman Gary Martin opened fire as Clayton Parks, 32, of Elgin; Trevor Wehner, 21, of Sheridan, Ill.; Russell Beyer, 47, of Yorkville; and Vicente Juarez, 54, of Oswego. Wehner was a Northern Illinois University student who had started an internship at Henry Pratt the day of the shooting.

Five Aurora officers were also injured when Martin opened fire on first responders. Four of those officers had been released from the hospital as of Sunday, officials said. Martin died at the scene in an exchange of gunfire with police, authorities said.

Phone Interview Tips to Ace Your Interview and Get Hired Faster - Duration: 6:13.

Phone interview is usually the first direct contact with a potential employer.

This call is clearly a tool for hiring managers to shortlist the candidate list even further

from the resume screening.

Only the candidates with a potential fit will make it to the face to face interviews, that's

why you should take your telephone interview seriously, because this is your key to a potential

future role that you have applied for.

I've been doing Recruitment for over 10 years and I'd like to share a few tips to

help you improve your phone interview skills.

The recruiter wants to know if you are a match for the job based on your skills and capabilities.

But even if you have outstanding qualifications and years of experience in the field, you

can't guarantee your success unless you prepare.

These are my 6 phone interview tips to ace your interview and get hired faster.

Tip #1.

Be enthusiastic and smile The tone of your voice is so important.

There are no visual clues over the phone so remember that your communication is a key.

Smiling will change it and will make you sound more positive and energetic, it will also

makes you feel more confident and enthusiastic.

Standing up is also helpful during a phone interview, since it gives your voice an upbeat

and entertaining tone.

Your voice will keep your interviewer more engaged.

#2.

Use all the advantages that the phone interview offers

Be properly ready for the call.

The phone interview allows you to have all the necessary information in front of you

and the interviewer wouldn't know.

Prepare your CV, the job description, all your notes about the company and your responses

to job interview questions.

Get your answers ready to common interview questions

Have your answers ready for usual job interview questions.

Typical questions like "Tell Me About Yourself", "Why do you want to work for us?", "Why

Should We Hire You?", "What are your strengths and weaknesses?", "What is your salary

range?"

etc. can be asked for sure.

If you are unsure what to reply, some of my other videos might help.

Having the job description, your notes and answers is very helpful, but keep it to the

minimum and easily accessible.

It shouldn't distract you from the phone conversation.

The telephone interview will flow easier if you are not constantly pausing and desperately

searching for the note you wrote.

#4.

Listen carefully and don't interrupt

Don't interrupt the interviewer and wait until they finish.

Active listening enables you to connect with the interviewer and hear what is really being

said.

This call is not about you, concentrate and listen to what the recruiter is saying and

ideally take notes.

Many make the mistake of not retaining anything of what the recruiters say due to being very

nervous or anxious to speak.

Remember that the recruiter can give you a lot of information about the job and the company,

some of it crucial to adapting your answers properly.

A short pause after questions gives you a chance to think about what you're going

to say rather than just rattling off whatever comes to your mind.

Don't feel uncomfortable to ask for clarification if you're not sure what is being asked.

Keep your answers short and concise Be brief and to the point.

The more you talk, the more chances of losing the interviewers attention you face.

Listen to the questions and structure your answers so that they are clear and concise.

Don't ramble, Speak with confidence.

If there is a moment of silence the interviewer is probably writing down what you are saying,

certainly not waiting for you to speak non-stop!

#6 Ask questions and for the next steps

Prepare a few questions for a hiring manager and ask those.

It could be anything that genuinely interests you and that is related to the company or

the role.

Also ask what is the next step in the hiring process and offer to provide any additional

information before saying goodbye.

A few red flags to avoid!

Don't eat, chew gum or smoke during your call.

Don't talk about money or starting dates unless you are asked about it.

Don't be rude or negative with your responses.

It might sound obvious but you wouldn't believe how many candidates ruin their chances

by coming across unpleasant, irritated or rude on the phone.

Try using the recruiter's name during the call, after they introduce themselves.

This will show that you are professional and observant.

Your goal is to set up a face-to-face interview.

At the end of your conversation, after you thank the interviewer for their time and let

them know that it would be a pleasure to meet them in person.

A lot of times, you are immediately asked about your availability for a face to face

interview, which is always a good sign.

hi everyone my name is Dipika Jaikishan and I am from MyWay Wealth welcome to

this conversation on ELSS and the national pension system as we

all might already know the ELSS is otherwise commonly known as

equity-linked Savings Scheme which is a diversified equity fund with a lock-in

period of three years the national pension system is an investment option

introduced by the government in 2004 and regulated by them the national pension

system is however managed by several mutual fund houses if I talk about the

withdrawal your ElSS is free for withdrawal after three years in the case

of the National Pension system your money is locked in until the age of 60

if I talk about equity exposure in the case of equity linked savings scheme it is a

100 percent exposure into equities or stocks in the case of the national

pension system very recently the exposure limit was revised and upto the

age of 35 you can go up to 75% exposure into equities if I talk about the tax

benefits under Section 80C which is your one and a half lakh rupee limit for

investment on tax saving you can invest up to one and a half lakh rupees in the

ELSS if you exhaust the limit of one and a

half lakh rupees only then you can invest additionally up to fifty

thousand rupees into the national pension system which takes your tax

savings up to two lakh rupees there is no minimum guarantee of returns when it

comes to the ELSS however if you invest your money and stay invested for a

period of up to five years we have seen returns between 12 to 17 percent in

the last five years on various ELSS funds the government has proposed a

guaranteed return on the National pension system which has not been

announced yet if you were to ask me for my suggestion I would definitely suggest

that you make and exhaust your in the mid of
