But I do believe we need to stand up and repeal Robin Hood and take a stand as a district

because we would be leaders for other districts in the area and they might stand up to and

say enough.

Becky has been down and registered, testifying against house bill 191, related to the creation

of a commission to recommend improvements in the public school finance system.

She is recommending and testifying saying that we don't want to figure this out … <time

So many times I can't even count anymore.

Whether it was with our PTA families that I see so many faces here in this audience,

when we got up early, got on the bus, we spent our own money to stay overnight.

I've gone with our dyslexia group READ multiple times on a bus with them, getting up early,

visiting Representative Giovanni Capriglione's office.

But I have been in the office's of every single state representative and state senator

that covers GCISD.

Senator Hancock, Senator Nelson, Senator Burton, Senator Huffiness, Representative Rinaldi,

Representative Capriglione and Representative Stickland.

I have also been to Washington DC to meet with US Congressman Kenny Merchant, I have

also hand carried information from our district on dyslexia, straight to Representative Lamar

Smith who was chair of the house Dyslexia Caucus, so yes, I have absolutely been an

advocate spending my own time, and my own dollars, and unfortunately missing events

with my own kids to advocate for ALL of GCISD.
