Front Reinforced Torso Sling Carry with a Newborn - Duration: 4:19.

Hi, I'm Rachel and this video is going to show how to do Front Reinforced Torso Sling Carry

It's a two layer, one shouldered carry that's very comfortable.

I'm going to start by having one tail hanging over my shoulder.

I can leave this tail hanging as long as I'd like, depending on the length of my wrap.

This carry usually takes a base minus three wrap for me.

For me, this wrap is a base minus two, so I've got a bit of extra length.

This wrap is a size 4.

I'm going to go ahead and let it come to about my knees.

since this is a little bit longer than I really need.

Then I'll bring the tail across my back.

It's going to start just like Front Wrap Cross Carry.

Then I'll make the other half of the X in the back.

bringing it over my other shoulder.

So now in the back, I have an X.

In front, I have basically front wrap cross carry.

I have a horizontal pass and a short tail and a long tail.

I'm going to go ahead and pick up my baby.

Hey Buddy! :)

I'm going to hold my baby on my shoulder like I'm going to burp him.

bring my hand under the sling fabric.

guide his feet straight through.

And I'll take a moment to just seat him on the wrap.

I let him get positioned with his knees higher than his bottom.

Then I'll bring the top edge up and over his back.

I'm going to tighten just like I'm doing a Front Wrap Cross Carry.

I'm making sure the bottom edge is going from knee to knee here.

Now I'm going to start by tightening my short tail.

So supporting baby with one arm, I'm going to lift up my other elbow, and pull my top edge up.

I'm working my way through the middle of the wrap, and the bottom.

Same thing on the other side.

Holding this tail tight with one hand, I'm going to pull up.

I'm lifting my elbow out so slack doesn't get caught under my arm.

And tighten the rest of that side.

I'm holding the wrap snug and I'm going to support baby's back with one hand

I'm going to take the longer tail out to the side nice and tight and sneak my elbow over it.

That keeps it pretty snug.

I'm going to bring the top edge over baby.

The bottom edge is going to go from knee to knee.

I'm going to gather this nice and tight.

And then I'm going to do one last tightening of the top shoulder.

Lifting my elbow out again to tighten.

This is nice and tight.

Then I'll tie a slipknot.

If you need to learn to tie a slipknot, I have a video on my channel.

The working tail here is going to come over the hanging tail.

under and up toward my face

It's going to hang down over my hand.

Come under the hanging tail

Then I'll grab it with my hand and pull it through.

And I'll push that up a bit.

Now I'm going to go through and check to make sure baby's knees are higher than his bottom.

Make sure that the fabric is going from knee to knee in both of layers of the fabric.

It should make a straight line from one knee to the other.

Then, any extra slack I feel, I'm going to feed around toward the back.

And you can see where the slack is, if I pull it here the shoulder.

I'll hold my knot in place with one hand, and I'll pull the top edge

and then just work my way through the fabric tightening each part

until everything is nice and snug.

The very last thing I'm going to do is spread the shoulder out

and make sure it's nice and well spread across my back.

And there we have Front Reinforced Torso Sling Carry.

It's very comfortable and supportive compared to Traditional Sling carry

because it has that extra horizontal pass going across the back to give a little more back support.

It makes for a wonderfully comfortable carry, with any age child, but I do really love it with a newborn.

you fill out your profile

you'll find a country you wanna visit

and you search for a host that are willing to accept you

and than you'll write him/her request to stay with

but it isn't so easy

but hosts are not going to accept you just like that

find some common characteristics and share the same interests

and it's like a KARMA

OK I'll accept a stranger in my place and someone othter will help me find place to sleep in world

you'll find friends all around the world

So here is our experience in USA

We started in Washington D.C.

we were there for 2 nights

we lived with Jay

Jay is amazing person

he is an ophthalmologist

his flat is in centre od D.C.

very close to metro/subway

and I'm still astonished from his kindness

I still thinking that we people from Slovakia

are scared, we fear another people

we don't want to show them our life, our privacy

but couchsurfers will show you their whole world

and they'll accept you

they give you keys from flat

so when we came back earlier

and Jay wasn't home we simply just enter

this building is a place where we try out for the first time couchsurfing

welocme in Washington D.C.

we return here because we forgot to take metrocards

this is bed that we sleep on

Jay is very kind and helpful person

He's a great host and I'm looking forward to show him Prague

mostly the host provide for you a couch or extra bed

but Jay gives us his bed

I'm still surprised and shocked about that

he gives us towels

we can use whole apartment

he also give us food, beer, snacks

He even take us out for a dinner

but we pay for food

he don't want it from us but it was our way to say thanks for your hospitality

and we order this "healthy" pizza

we are all full

little bit surfeit

it was a great pizza

this is how we live in D.C.

there is a pool on rooftop

yoga lesson for free

gym for free

and a garden with park

it's really nice in here in centre

and every first friday of month

the building serves free breakfast

sweets, croisants and fruits

I want his neighbour :D

every are scented candle and the smell is awesome

so that was D.C.

than we we're in Boston

that was really funny experience

because we met our host just for 2 minutes on street

give us keys and went to party

so we enter the house

we're in classic american wodden style house

we randomly met our host outside his building

and he just keys and contact on his roomie

and went to party that we'll see eachother in morning

he's living with 4 roomates

so one of them show us around

and we're here just sitting laid back

going to use Playstation or help with emptying bottles behind me :D

we lived there for whole week

she is from Netherlands - Amsterdam

she love to sing

we understand in this she want to be a singer

trying to achieve something

is the key!

You can't give up you must keep trying until you reach your goal

we slept in living room on spreading couch

New York is the city that never sleeps

It's true people go to bed after 1-2 a.m.

and it was quite a shock for us

because we want to wake up early to see as much as possible

first days we wake up early

but then we get so tired that we sleep until 11 a.m.

it was worth it because the people showed us other site of NYC

they took us to jazz club

to party

i feel like in Jamaica

Jamaica find us again

in NYC

it's instant love for the rest of our life

Bill took us also to bbq party

there was lots of people mostly friends of Bill

I find new friend from China and India

Bill invited us on bbq party in centre of Brooklyn

on 99 Scott ave.

we were in Japan one year ago

whitch is the best?

Tokio and Kyoto

The closer my departure from New York gets

the more i love this city

I must say that couchsurfing is amazing

because it's not about staying in hotel room

and go for a walk like a regular tourist

but you'll get to know the locals

cultural exchange

I'm going 100% couchsurfing after this

Bill is a wonderful person he host people from all around world all year

organize meetings and hangouts

very pleasant experience

and I recommend it to everybody

this is a big THANK YOU to all our couchsurfers

First I was afraid of couhsurfing

but it's superb positive experience

It's not only about saving money for hotels

It's about to see and get a real touch of the city

It's about making new friends from all the world

learn something new from them

it was the most cultural rewarding experience in my life

and from now I'm starting to host other fellow traveler's

because doing good and positive things makes me richer and hapier

What I really love about this is a fact that we have an opportunity to see normal life of locals from all over world

and I must say that these three guys have heart on the right spot

and they thinking is different like ours

and I admire it so much

I also want to be a greater person

and help others

don't think only myself

and throw away all prejudice and fear

If mankind think like Bill, Asad or Jay

the world would be a better place for living
