han Solo having his like prequel film that's played by a different actor
hell is that like Harrison Ford is Han Solo we don't need to see the younger
Han Solo really like I don't really give a shit do you give a shit about this so
just as a bit of a warning this might come off as a little bit of a rant but
Star Wars has pissed me off so much recently that I felt like I just needed
to get this out there and also explain why I'm not going to see solo a Star
Wars story so let me just first state that I loved the original Star Wars
trilogy they are a landmark for film and they did so much for the industry with
ILM and Lucasfilm and they were pioneers in a lot of ways however I think now
Star Wars has completely lost its way and they have no idea where they're
going or what this franchise is even supposed to be and I think they've
pissed off myself and a lot of other fans and I'm gonna give some reasons why
and maybe some things that they could do to fix it though I'm so far gone that
I'm not even sure I would come back so I remember actually in 1999 when the
prequels came out waiting in line at the theaters with my friends and there was
nothing like that before it was one of the first times that I actually saw
people camping outside for almost a day in advance to watch Star Wars and I was
a bit younger at the time and I didn't mind some parts I really like the pod
racing scene and I really did like the Jedi's in that one to kind of see it was
the first film that we really saw Jedi's at their peak and I really loved Darth
Maul though they killed him off then I went to go see Attack of the Clones and
this film pissed me off so much that I actually boycotted the third one and
didn't go to see it in the theaters I actually didn't even see it till many
years later I think it was maybe on TV or video demand I totally didn't care
about Star Wars at this point and I don't feel like I
was really missing much I did finally see Star Wars Episode three and people
say oh it's okay to be a Star Wars fan again but I thought that was a pretty
terrible film too to be honest so let's fast forward a little bit to the new
trilogy because that's where we're at now so I think JJ Abrams while I'm not a
fan of everything that he does I think he really did understand what Star Wars
was about and he really captured the essence of the original Star Wars and he
was smart enough to realize that Star Wars is more about a feeling and it is
fantasy it's not science fiction so they don't have to like explain all this
stuff with the Senate and all this stuff about medic lorian's and all that other
bullshit that they had in the prequels which was completely uninteresting and
just killed Star Wars I will say that I was a fan of the original trilogy then
the prequels killed it for me and then I came back for this new trilogy and the
force awakens brought me back to that but then I
watched the last Jedi and the last Jedi has completely killed Star Wars for me
so now we're at the last Jedi and while I thought that Rian Johnson was a decent
director I kind of liked the first half of looper but I didn't really like the
second half he has a problem ending that movie and you can see that he also had a
problem ending the last Jedi because you don't really know where this film is
supposed to go at all I thought that that ending with the kid that had the
broom and was so stupid like is supposed to be symbolic that everybody can have
the force or is it supposed to be some kid that's actually relevant to the
storyline it just was ridiculous and it's just poorly executed and I think
they gave him way too much freedom with this film I know that you might think
that you have a talented director but he should respect some of the ideas in
the film before because this is a trilogy it doesn't seem like they have a
good idea of where the whole story is going and for a franchise this big like
that is completely ridiculous so that whole storyline with Finn Andros
I thought was completely lame actually when I went to see this at the theater
I remember the beginning parts where there on that planet and in that casino
and I thought this isn't really that important to what's happening here and I
had to go to the washroom and I waited for the next shot when they entered that
casino and then I ran to the washroom and I came back and I don't feel like I
missed anything I didn't miss any of the plot whatsoever this whole story was
just completely unnecessary and why the hell is Rose such a main character I
mean she had more screen time than smoke and smoke had the biggest fucking ship
in the galaxy but we need to focus more on Rose like what the hell were they
thinking with this and you have such a good performer and actor behind Snoke
with Andy Serkis and completely misused him he's in the
film for maybe like five minutes what was that so there's been a lot of
talk about the whole social justice warrior thing coming into Star Wars and
let me just first state that while I'm all for being very progressive I don't
really feel this has any place in Star Wars this is not the place to be pushing
that at all let's not forget who made Star Wars successful the fans who were
mainly composed of a lot of nerdy male dudes even other women have gone onto
YouTube to mention this that this doesn't really have any place this whole
social justice warrior thing in Star Wars so I don't know if that's like the
sole cause for ruining it I think there's more problems beyond that like
having no idea what the story or plot of this whole
Chai's is supposed to be so the last thing I've read about in Star Wars is
that Lando is now pansexual in the new solo a Star Wars story why is this even
brought up or why is this even a focus I don't know about the rest of you guys
let me know what you thought but I didn't really think about the sexual
orientation of the characters when I was watching the original Star Wars and if
anything the original Star Wars points to the contrary because in the Empire
Strikes Back when the Millennium Falcon comes to Cloud City Lando is he's not
really interested in all the other characters but then you kind of see him
as this smooth swindler when he's actually starts talking to Leia so
everything would point to the contrary of that so that doesn't even make sense
but besides the fact why are they even focusing on this all this tells me is
that they're focusing on the completely wrong aspects of what actually made Star
Wars and the characters compelling in the first place I would say if anybody
is pansexual it's the Star Wars franchise itself it has no idea what
audience is trying to attract so Kathleen Kennedy seems to come up as
the root of the problem and that would make a lot of sense since she is the
president of Lucasfilm and I think when you have such a large amount of the fan
base that dislikes her I think they should just get rid of her because this
is just bad PR at this point and Disney tries to always keep us a good face so I
don't understand why they haven't gotten rid of her yet she's not really bringing
anything good to the franchise from what I can see so far so since we're talking
about Disney let's talk about another big franchise that they have and that's
Marvel and let's compare Kathleen Kennedy to Kevin Feige so Kevin Feige
he's done a great job with Marvel an amazing job actually but you can tell
that he really understands the source material and the comics and the universe
and whatever Kathleen Kennedy is doing you could tell she just doesn't really
understand Star Wars or understand the essence of what it's really about and
while there's maybe not as much source material as the Marvel Comics I think
there is still a lot of source material that they could still draw from or even
make something original that does make sense because what they've done so far
is just completely butcher Star Wars and butcher this franchise so I'm gonna try
and be a little bit constructive here and even though I don't really care
about Star Wars anymore I'm gonna give you some notes onto how I think they
could possibly fix this mess firstly make a goddamn story Bible I don't care
who your director is and how talented you may think they are make a story
Bible for the trilogy it doesn't seem like they have that and each director
just comes in and does his own thing for the trilogy it just doesn't really make
any sense in it shows through in these films like it's you can just tell like
where is this going is it going anywhere is this even interesting for me it's not
something that I would do is actually keep
the original main storyline trilogies about the Skywalker's because that's
what they've always been about and it seems like they are trying to do that a
little bit with kylo in there but this whole thing about the forget the past
and kill it that just makes no sense in the main trilogies this is not really
the place to expand the franchise I wouldn't say or not in that way and what
I would do is I would keep the main trilogies about the skywalker lineage
but then I would use the a Star Wars story films in between as those are what
you expand the universe on so since we're talking about a Star Wars story I
will say that I actually did like a rogue one I thought it was actually one
of the better Star Wars films in the recent years because there was all those
prequels shit before that but I think that really worked because it was a sub
story that did relate to the original trilogy and I thought it was interesting
how they got the plans for the Death Star and it that that worked and it also
had just enough characters from the main trilogy I believe it was general Tarkin
was in it so that worked and they also introduced a lot of new characters which
I thought that all worked really well actually and I would do more of that
going off of that I think that what would also work is having more stories
like row one so some stories that I read about Star Wars when I was younger that
I thought were great was one of them they had a series they had tales of the
bounty hunters tales from Mos Eisley cantina and tales from Jabba's palace
and there was in tales of the bounty hunters I don't want to spoil it
completely but it basically is about how Boba Fett beats while all the other
bounty hunters to locate the millennium falcon so he beats boss can die
eighty-eight and that was a great story and I think that alone like Bubba Fett
is such a well-liked character of so many hardcore Star Wars fans or not even
hardcore but I would say Star Wars fans and that also takes place between Empire
Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi so I think having a Star Wars story with
movies like this would actually be something for the original fans but you
could also expand the universe and those work and I think it doesn't detract from
the main storylines so much because you don't really have so much focus on the
skywalker so it's not like oh they ruin the skywalker
lineage or they ruined the skywalker story with these sub a Star Wars story
films so going back to that I think that Bubba Fett really could have his own
film and just off the top of my head you could have one film about how Boba Fett
defeated all the bounty hunters but you could also have another film about how
Bubba Fett got out of the Sarlacc pit so those are two films on their own right
there instead of this Han Solo having his like prequels film that's played by
a different actor that's not Harrison Ford like what the hell is that like
Harrison Ford is Han Solo we don't need to see the younger Han Solo really like
I don't really give a shit do you give a shit about this so I myself I'm actually
not going to see solo a Star Wars story I don't really feel like I'm missing out
on much and I'd also rather not support films where I think there are bad ideas
and also I don't really want to support this franchise and give them more ticket
sales and my money because I don't really think that this franchise knows
what it's doing and I think it's pretty gone in a pretty bad direction what I am
really looking forward to actually is Denny Villeneuve is doing dune and he's
doing three films and he says it's like Star Wars for adults and I think Denny
Villeneuve is one of the best directors out there and right now and I think he
has actually a lot of vision so I can't wait to see what he does with that and
I can pretty much guarantee or depending maybe on your tastes that it's gonna
look a million times better than any of the bullshit that Star Wars has done for
us recently so what do you think of Star Wars now let me know do you still like
it do you hate it and yeah let me know what you thought of some of my ideas I
would love to hear your comments down below and if you're new to the channel
