Waching daily May 29 2018

- You came back to Yangon from Bagan, right? / - Yes.

- We came back to Yangon. / - On the plane back.

It's burning up.

I'm watching you.

Look forward to it.

(Water goddess is summoned)

It's my day. It's Sojin's day from today.

It's water day.

I invite you to the world of water.

You're all dead!

(The Thingyan Festival)

Expect a lot.

It's the day of water.

I really want to try those noodles.

Oh, my.

It's so cool.

It's so cool.

We'll start the water day of the Firefighting Tour.

Bboom bboom!

Now I'm attacking.

We haven't seen this before.

(Flailing)

There's just something weird.

She looks somewhat awkward, yet she's having fun.

- She's offbeat. / - She's having fun.

It's like walking like this.

That's right.

You should've done this.

(Kandawgyi Lake)

Today is my day. Sojin's day.

It's day of water.

We're going to start off at this lake.

This lake is called Kandawgyi Lake.

"Kan" means lake in the local language.

- Where is that? / - Kandawgyi.

Did such a place exist?

- It does look like a city here. / - Yes.

It's like a city, right?

(Kandawgyi Lake is a popular dating spot)

I think they went to that lake.

- Really? / - Kim Suyong and Park Hwisun.

I don't have any recollection of it.

I don't have any recollection of it.

By the way, it's too hot.

- It's so hot. / - Isn't your day over yet?

It's fire here. There's a golden tower.

Oh, that. It's called Shwedagon Pagoda.

It's the landmark of the city.

- Really? / - Yes.

Everybody who visits Myanmar visits it.

- I think I saw a photo. / - It was on Battle Trip.

Right.

Why is it so different to when Suyong went there?

Is it really the same place Hwisun went?

Anyway, I was thinking of taking a train.

- We need to take a train? / - Yes.

Just like Line 2 on the Seoul metro,

there's a train that goes around Yangon.

- It's 16 cents. / - It's a circulating train.

It's so cheap.

The train ticket is 16 cents?

Yes.

- It's like Line 2. / - Among the foods related to water...

There's food that I really wanted to eat

when I came to Myanmar.

You have to eat noodles in Southeast Asia.

- Look forward to it. / - Alright.

- Let's go. / - My first time on a train in Myanmar.

Me too. Let's go.

(Kandawgyi Lake)

(Puzundaung Station)

(17-minute walk)

- Right. / - It's such an old train.

You learned how to read the letters, right?

No, I don't know the letters.

I just memorized the name of the place we're going.

Is it written in English as well or

is it only written in Burmese?

It's only written in Burmese.

Can they speak English though?

Yes, they can.

It doesn't matter where you're going.

1 ticket costs 200 kyats.

And you can go anywhere you want with the ticket.

So both you and I can travel for 40 cents.

It's so cheap.

Excuse me.

Two tickets please.

Pardon?

Not everyone speaks English.

Don't they speak English well?

Not as well as you think. Some are really good.

Most speak Burmese.

- Two tickets please. / - That's why you spoke in Korean?

Yes, so long as he understood.

60 cents.

- Bye. / - I think the train is coming.

No.

We can't miss this, right?

No, no.

Wait a minute.

- Oh, no! / - You were wasting time...

Without realizing.

Can we get on this?

Is this right?

Just carry this on?

After she made up her mind...

He told them to just get on.

It's like they're in Korea.

Don't they have to check our tickets?

Did they all give their tickets?

Maybe they don't check.

- Just in case... / - I'll hold on to it.

This train is so interesting.

There are no windows.

Goodness.

- It feels dangerous. / - You can get off.

There's no door either.

There's no door.

It'd be cool to stand out there.

You know where to get off, right?

- I know where, but... / - Don't make us worry.

Will they announce it? I can't read...

Let's see where we get off.

There was no announcement.

- So restless. / - You'd be so nervous.

Excuse me.

We're going to Central?

Central?

Central? Central?

Central Station.

She won't even look at you.

She's so cute.

- Central Station? / - Yes.

(She looks at her desperately)

I watched a fun TV show she was on.

Through that show, I realized she was very smart.

I heard she could speak different languages.

I can rely on her for communication issues.

Recently, I visited Boston, where I used to live.

- You used to live in Boston? / - Yes.

That's interesting.

(How good is her English?)

(Slurping?)

(Do you know the noodles restaurant?)

(Ayoung)

Look at her.

What are you doing?

I wanted to say we were going to eat noodles.

(She patiently explains)

Shan noodles? Do you know Shan noodle?

(They have great teamwork)

Shan noodles? You don't know?

(She's indeed a master of communication)

What happens if we miss our stop?

If we miss it? Then we take another train going back.

We can ride the train as much as we want.

- It's great, isn't it? / - No.

I think it's here.

It's here. I think it's here.

It think this is the station.

I was right.

- You found the station? / - Yes.

She just guessed.

Is this restaurant famous?

It's very famous.

It's popular among the locals.

If it's popular among the locals then it's really good.

Right.

Why is it called Shan noodles?

Shan people are the second biggest population here.

- Shan people? / - Yes.

This is the noodles Shan people eat often.

Is this it?

Doesn't the menu look like that of a good restaurant?

This place must be a good restaurant.

It's so crowded although it's so hot today.

This place is more popular among the locals.

There's one with soup and one without.

It looks delicious already.

- Let's order one each. / - It was so good.

- It's good. / - It is?

It's already good.

That was $1.60.

$1.60?

- Suji. / - Yes?

What do you think?

If it's $1.60, I could eat 1,600 bowls.

That's the good thing about traveling with your friend.

You can order two different dishes and share.

Chicken.

- Chicken. / - Chicken.

Chicken and pork for this one.

(Special sauce is added together with the meat sauce)

(Sticky Shan noodles salad complete)

(With well-cooked broth poured in it)

(Sticky Shan noodles complete)

It's ready.

I think our dishes are ready.

Okay.

- Ah, salad. / - Thank you.

There are many different ethnicities in Myanmar.

The biggest population is Burmese.

The second biggest is Shan.

- It looks so delicious. / - It's their staple food.

It looks so delicious.

$1.60 is so cheap.

It's a bit different from the rice noodles I imagined.

That's the mixed.

- It's like mixed noodles. / - Is it good, Sikyung?

- It's tasty right now. / - It's tasty no matter what?

It's tasty right now.

Ayoung, is it spicy?

- It's not spicy. / - It's a little spicy.

It has all kinds of flavor in it.

It's so sticky.

- It's like sticky rice. / - The noodles look very sticky.

- It was really sticky. / - Right?

I can feel the stickiness from the video.

Want to try watermelon juice?

Do you like it?

It's fried noodles that's like five spiced sauce

and black bean noodles.

- Mapo tofu. / - Yes, yes!

It's delicious.

Yes.

- No artificial spices. / - I get it.

It's a taste we've had.

I'd love to try that.

The noodles are

as chewy as hand-pulled noodles.

It's extremely chewy.

- It's a small serving. / - It's called sticky noodles.

It must be chewy and sticky.

It's made of sticky rice, so it's very filling.

If you take rice cake and really flatten it out,

I think it'd have this texture.

- Let's try the broth. / - Try it.

You need two bowls of this.

(Expectant)

Why do I taste bean paste from all the dishes here?

I think it tastes similar to bean paste noodles.

- Do you taste the bean paste? / - Yes.

- I'm not strange, right? / - I get the feeling now.

It tastes like bean paste noodles.

Like bean paste noodles.

Bean paste rice soup.

It's like rice soup.

This must be pork broth.

(Ayoung wonders what the sauces on the table are)

You know, we add sauces in rice soup in Korea.

- Can I add a little bit of it? / - Yes please.

- Can I? / - I love this sauce.

Let's mix it well. It might be spicier than we think.

It tastes similar to pork soup rice.

I love this.

This one looks more delicious.

There are different sauces you can add...

- To your liking. / - How is it?

(So happy)

It's sweet and spicy.

It's not what I expected.

It's better with the sauce.

If you like spicy food, you'll find this delicious.

It has a fiery taste.

- It's like chili oil. / - Oh, that's what it is.

- The aftertaste. / - It taste fiery.

Can I crush this and add it?

What's that?

It's like deep fried pork skin.

- With noodles... / - That's in the Philippines.

- Please save me. / - Why not?

Let's add it.

Try it. It's tasty.

Excuse me.

(Making a fuss)

Please give me a small bowl.

- Let's eat. / - Thank you.

It's good.

- You added it, didn't you? / - No, I didn't.

- You did. / - I didn't.

The soup tastes different.

No way.

It must've gone in when the bag exploded.

Why can't you tell me precisely?

The pressure inside the bag was high.

Some went in when it exploded.

I think it'd taste better with it.

Please give me a small bowl.

Personal dish.

(So much)

- You look calm. / - You're so quick.

You're so quick when you're doing that.

How does it taste?

(This isn't the taste I know)

The original taste is gone.

Is this revenge for the temple?

The meat stock taste is gone.

(Screaming)

- No! / - It looks better.

- Are you sure? / - I'll try it.

(Ayoung tastes it first to put Sojin at ease)

Hey, wait a minute.

Is it like crispy batter?

It has a crunchy texture.

This one's good.

(Ayoung is nervous)

(She agrees this time)

Was that okay?

Yes, that was tasty.

You can think of it as frying powder

like the one you put in udon.

Sprinkling the crispy pork powder was a great choice.

It was like eating spicy pork rice soup on a hot day.

It was savory. I really liked it.

That looks delicious.

Their noodles are great.

- I should try both noodles. / - Of course.

- The mixed and soup. / - Definitely.

Myanmar has traditional tea called lahpet.

It's water day.

Why do you keep suggesting hot things?

On this hot day.

- But the locals... / - Like hot soup.

Spicy food. Hot tea.

Why are you doing this?

It's the water festival tomorrow anyway.

So we're getting ready for that.

- Let's go. / - Let's go.

2,000 kyats. 2,000 kyats.

2,000, 2,000, 2,000, 2,500.

What?

No.

This one is 300.

This wasn't free.

So this one costs 300 kyats each.

I thought it was free because it was on the table.

You can mistake it for free.

- Still it's less than $10. / - Right.

Left hand, left hand.

- That's really weird. / - Left hand.

Right hand, right foot.

I was wondering what was weird.

25 Most Common English Verbs You NEED to Know - Duration: 13:21.

Okay.

Are you read?

You sure?

Are you guys ready?

I hope so because today we are going to talk to you about the 25 most common verbs in English.

That's coming up.

Yay.

How was that intro? You think that was kind of off the cuff like?

So today we are going to tell you the 25 most common verbs in English.

These are verbs you really, really, really need to know.

And this - these verbs - this list is from a study

that was conducted using the Oxford English Corpus,

which is basically a huge collection of written texts that were examined

so they could find out which ones are the most frequent.

So this is a list of the most frequently used verbs

which means these are verbs that you guys should know.

You really need to know them.

Super important. Very important verbs.

They're super important.

You should know these verbs.

You should know them.

Did we say that you should know these verbs?

You should know them. You need to know them.

Okay, okay, okay.

Okay, so what we're going to do is we're going to give you...stop laughing.

Okay.

Okay. So what we're going to do is we're going to

give you these 25 verbs.

But with each one, we will give you the conjugation.

So we'll give you the present tense form, the past tense, and then the past participle from of the verb.

What are the most frequently used verbs in English?

What are they?

We're going to tell you.

All right. Let's begin. So the number one verb - drumroll.

Drumroll.

is, really to no surprise, the verb TO BE.

It is the most common verb in English.

So in the present, you would use IS or ARE depending on the subject.

The past WAS/WERE and the past participle is BEEN.

That's true.

You confirm you confirm that?

It's correct.

You agree?

He's not lying to you guys.

Number two is HAVE or HAS.

And in the past its HAD. Past participle also HAD.

Number three...the third most common verb in English is TO DO.

So in the present DO or DOES, in the past DID, and the past participle is DONE.

Number four...SAY.

Say or says.

TO SAY or SAYS. The past tense is SAID and the past participle also SAID.

Number five is TO GET.

So the present simple GET/GETS. The past tense GOT.

And the past participle can be either GOT or GOTTEN.

So got is the more common form in British English.

And Americans will sometimes say gotten.

So for example, because we are from the United States, we say gotten.

Number six is TO MAKE.

So that's MAKE/MAKES. Past as MADE.

What's the past participle?

MADE.

I don't know why I keep forgetting these.

It's good practice for us.

Yeah. I guess.

Everyone has to memorize these, including native English speakers.

So everyone has to memorize.

Because there's a lot of irregular verbs.

Pretty much all of them are irregular verbs.

Number seven is TO GO.

And...so the present simple GO/GOES. The past tense is WENT and the past participle GONE.

Gone with the wind.

Gone somewhere.

With the wind.

What?

Gone with the Wind.

That is a movie. Yes.

It's out of focus.

Number eight is KNOW.

Not no. But "to know."

Okay, let's backtrack.

Okay, number eight is TO KNOW.

In the present tense, we have KNOW/KNOWS.

In the past tense we have KNEW and in the past participle it's KNOWN.

We know.

Number nine is TO TAKE.

So in the present tense TAKE/TAKES.

In the past TOOK and the past participle is TAKEN.

No, not "tooken." TAKEN.

Listen to him.

Number ten...TO SEE.

You look like such a dork.

What?

This is SEE. SEE.

Number ten is TO SEE.

Number ten is TO SEE.

I'm okay

Number ten is to...

Number ten is...

Number ten is TO SEE.

So in the present tense...like how we did that?

In the present tense...

We were working on that for a while.

A long time.

In the present is we have SEE/SEES.

And in the past it's SAW.

And in the past participle SEEN.

Out of the top ten, which is your favorite verb?

KNOW.

Why?

Do you know why?

I do know why because it's...first of all it sounds like another word.

So it's like, if you know one word you know two words.

And second because I like knowledge. I like to know things.

Are you going to ask me?

Do you care? You don't care what my favorite verb is.

I want to share my favorite verb.

Fine. What's yours?

I would say...I like GO.

Because it's kind of...

You're what? You're going.

No. It's just a good action. I just like the the action. Like, "Hey, let's go!"

Let's go. Let's go. Let's do it. Let's do it. Let's go.

Let's continue our... let's continue our list.

Number eleven is TO COME.

So in the...

Number eleven is TO COME, so...

You're terrible.

Number eleven is TO COME.

So in the present simple you'd have COME/COMES.

In the past COME, and in the past participle is just COME...again.

She keeps laughing when I say, "Come."

It's a popular verb all right.

No. I'm sure.

To come.

Okay. You got to stop.

It's popular verb. People use it a lot.

People come and go all the time. They come and go. Don't they?

Yes, they do.

Are we done with the innuendos?

Okay, I like this one.

Number twelve is TO THINK.

Think.

So let's see. In the present tense we have THINK/THINKS.

Past tense we have THOUGHT, and past participle THOUGHT as well.

Number thirteen is LOOK.

So this is our first regular verb. Oh my gosh.

In the present simple LOOK/LOOKS.

In the past is LOOKED, so the past perfect is also LOOKED.

Regular verbs are awesome.

First regular verb.

Number fourteen TO WANT.

In the present tense, this is WANT/WANTS.

In the past WANTED, and in the past participle also WANTED.

Another regular verb. Wow, two in a row. Amazing.Incredible.

It's a good one TO WANT. I like it.

I want...to tickle Wes.

Number fifteen is TO GIVE.

So in present simple GIVE/GIVES.

In the past it is GAVE, and the past participle is GIVEN.

Are you sure?

Are you 100% sure?

Why? Is it not...

This is another regular verb. So number sixteen is TO USE.

In the present tense, this is USE/USES.

Past tense USED and past participle USED as well.

Rocking along with these regular verbs now.

Number seventeen - just when I say that - is FIND, another irregular verb.

So in the present simple we have FIND/FINDS.

Past tense is FOUND and the past participle is also FOUND.

Memorize it. Practice it. Use it.

Number eighteen is TO TELL.

Present tense...TELL/TELLS.

Past tense...TOLD.

And past participle...TOLD.

It is funny because these are...these are so common,

but at the same time thinking of the conjugation I'm still like - wait a second.

You have to think about it.

Wait, which is that? Wait, what's the past participle?

But if you have to say it in a sentence I think we'll say it quickly.

Yeah, yeah. It's no problem.

Number nineteen is TO ASK.

So present simple ASK/ASKS.

And the past is ASKED.

And the past participle ASKED as well.

It sounded like you said "assed."

Wait, let me say it again.

So the present is ASK/ASKS.

And the past is ASKED.

And the past participle is also ASKED.

I'm trying to get "asked."

I know I was laughing because your eyes are like bulging out.

Every time you say it you're like "ASKS."

And then it was ASKED.

Asked.

That -ed has that T sound because the K is voiceless.

There we go.

Number twenty - it's another regular verb - in the present tense we have...

What's the verb?

Number twenty is TO WORK.

And this is another regular verb.

So in the present we have WORK/WORKS.

Past tense WORKED. Past participle WORKED.

Number twenty-one TO SEEM.

And the present SEEM/SEEMS.

In the past - because it's regular - SEEMED.

And the past participle is also SEEMED.

And it's true.

Number twenty-two is TO FEEL.

This one in the present tense is FEEL/FEELS.

Past tense FELT. Past participle FELT.

Twenty-three...TO TRY.

So we have TRY/TRIES in the present.

The past...TRIED and the past participle TRIED.

Ends with a -y so we use -ied.

Number twenty-four is TO LEAVE.

In the present tense this is LEAVE/LEAVES.

Past tense LEFT. Past participle LEFT.

And number twenty-five - the last of the most common English verbs - is TO CALL.

So we have CALL/CALLS in the present.

CALLED in the past, and the past participle is CALLED.

So out of all of these verbs, which one is your favorite now?

Is it still TO KNOW?

I think so actually. Oh no. Can I change my answer?

Yeah.

I like TO GIVE. I like give.

Okay. That's a good one.

That's funny because mine would be TO WANT.

I like TO WANT something. That's what I was going to say.

Number fourteen...TO WANT.

Yes. Next year, WANT - it's making its way to the top.

Sure.

I like GIVE.

And KNOW.

What about TO COME?

Now, what we want you to do is in the comments tell us which of these verbs is your favorite.

Or tell us which one that you think you use the most.

Which one is most common for you?

And write that in the comments. We want to know.

We hope you give us...

I'm trying to use your favorite verb.

Give us a comment!

We hope you enjoyed this lesson and know all of these

verbs and that you can conjugate these verbs because that is very important.

If you like this lesson, please give us a thumbs up.

And as always thanks for watching.

We'll see you next time.

Bye

Is that better?

Yeah, sure.
