Waching daily May 28 2018

Today on Wheelhouse we're talking Saturn; not the planet!

The Company!

Why the company was started, their ambitious plan to change the game, and how it all came

crashing down.

It's a sad story of forward thinking, wasted potential, and self-sabotage.

This is the truth about Saturn.

In the 60s, gas was cheap, so American car companies paid no attention to fuel economy.

But that thinking had to change in the 70s, when the oil crisis made gas prices skyrocket,

and sent consumers looking for more efficient options.

American consumers started taking Japanese companies like Honda and Datsun more seriously,

and by proxy, so did Detroit; which for years had been completely underestimating their

eastern competition.

Domestic manufacturers were simply not great at making small, economical cars at this point.

While cars like GM's 70's-era Vega and Chevette sold well, it was almost a universal

consensus that the Japanese did small cars better, and soon, cars like Honda's Civic

and Toyota's Corolla were dominating the compact car market.

In the boardrooms of GM, a plan was being...planned.

They didn't want to make more small cars under their existing brands, because they

thought customers might think of them as cheap runts of the lineup.

So they had to build an entirely new car company from scratch.

In 1982, GM VPs Alex Mair and Robert Eaton began work on the project.

It would eventually be named Saturn, after the rocket which carried America to the moon,

winning that other great race that set the world's pace and earned us the top place

in the galactic starchase, the Space Race.

General Motors hoped that the totally new company would overcome any negative brand-associations

buyers had with small cars and American companies.

And when I say "totally new company", I mean it was totally new: new car design,

new engine, new production plant, new workforce, new dealers, and even new ways of producing

the car in the first place.

What made Saturn completely different from its competitors was the ownership structure

between management, engineers, and the factory workers.

In other GM brands like Chevrolet and Pontiac, the Management would tell the engineers what

to build, the engineers would draw up the design, and the factory would build the bureaucracy-approved

product without giving input on what they were making.

But at Saturn, the dynamic would be a little different, and had potential to change the

auto industry forever.

Major decisions at car companies are usually made from the top down, but at Saturn, the

United Auto Workers union now had a huge input on their car's design, meaning that people

working on the factory floor could tell the engineers and management what would and wouldn't

work.

This shared ownership of Saturn between everyone involved had an interesting effect on the

workplace culture:

It turns out if you listen to your employees and make them feel like their voices matter,

they give you their loyalty and productivity increases.

GM set up the Saturn factory in Spring Hill, Tennessee, far outside the influence of Detroit.

People were excited!

Spring Hill is a small town outside of Nashville, and General Motors is going to build a factory

here?

Making completely new cars?

Awesome!

I remember when we finally got a movie theater my senior year, this Factory must have been

at least twice as exciting as that.

The car that Spring Hill would produce was dubbed the "Saturn S-series", with sedan

models named SL, and the SC coupe.

The largest departure from traditional car design used on the S-series was the use of

a space-frame design.

This design, which takes structural and crash load off of the side panels, meant that Saturn

could use their signature dent-resistant plastic body panels instead of metal

even though the SL and SC were made to compete with Japanese cars, they didn't

have the tech of their eastern competitors, so GM based all of their marketing around

the fact Saturns were built in small-town USA.

GM was banking that would see how Saturn was doing things differently, and that they would

want to get in on that excitement.

In fact, Saturn's slogan was "A New Kind of Car Company."

This fresh approach went all the way to the showroom as well: Saturn dealerships were

haggle free, meaning the price you saw was the price you paid.

And when you bought your new Saturn, dealership employees would give you applause as you got

in and drove away.

It honestly looks like a cult

People loved their Saturns.

The company even hosted a 'homecoming' at Spring Hill where thousands of Saturn owners

from all over would meet up and party at the factory.

GM had successfully marketed an American small car, a feat unheard of just ten years earlier.

By the end of 1995, Saturn had built over a million cars in it's short 6 year history.

But the good times wouldn't last forever.

While the S line was updated

three times during its life, there was no escaping

that Saturn only really had one car to sell.

This stagnation, combined with the fact that the "new company" shine had worn away,

meant that Saturn sales were slowing down

While new cars were needed, GM was a bit strapped for cash, and couldn't afford to design

a totally new, unique vehicle for Saturn, like the S-Series.

In fact, GM would never be able to design a unique Saturn again, making the S-Series

a bit of a unicorn.

Instead, GM would dip into it's parts bin from around the world to make future Saturn's,

and the first car to emerge from this corporate rummage was the L-series, introduced as a

2000 model year.

The L was basically a rebadged Opel Vectra, which sucked.

Sensing a shift in the market, GM execs decided Saturn also needed a crossover SUV.

The Saturn Vue debuted in 2002, and was a rebadged Chevy Equinox, which was another

rebadged Opel.

GM had created Saturn to operate in a way that wasn't like GM.

But now, General Motors was forcing Saturn to act like General Motors.

Saturn had always been the oddball in GM's lineup.

And while it's employees were happy and customers loyal, neither of those things meant

new sales, and that meant no money coming in.

GM had yet to get a return on their investment in Saturn.

They had spent nearly five billion on development and the Spring Hill facility.

Since GM was a little light in the wallet, that meant Saturn was in the crosshairs of

the cost cutters.

If Saturn didn't start making money soon, it would mean bad news.

Following the release of the VUE and the L-series, Saturn would finally kill of their watershed

S-series in 2002.

The Saturn ION would be introduced in 2003 to replace it, and shared its Delta platform

with many GM cars, including the Cobalt.

Despite introducing three new vehicles for the new millennium, Saturn remained fairly

small-fry in the industry.

Their promise of a haggle-free experience still proved to be attractive, however the

market was no longer theirs alone, as Toyota had introduced Scion and their no-haggle price

models in 2003.

This competition, combined with a steadily worsening economic situation would combine

to hit Saturn hard.

Very hard.

By 2005 Saturn was in chaos, unable to make any money on it's own.

Competition within and without GM was stifling the now-stale brand.

The company was out of options and completely resigned itself to selling a lineup made of

all rebadged vehicles.

Two years later, Saturn introduced all new vehicles, with everything except the Vue getting

replaced.

The new line included the Sky, which was Saturn's first interesting car since their debut.

But it was also just a rebadged Opel, and didn't sell on top of that.

Nothing could save Saturn, as the economic recession that struck the US in 2008 created

a dire situation at GM.

To save General Motors, the government provided assistance in the form of their now-famous

"bail-out" package, on the condition that the plethora of companies GM owned and sold

cars under be paired down

So how did it get so bad?

A 2010 lawsuit found that Saturn's Vice president and General Manager Jill Lajdziak

didn't know whether or not Saturn was making money.

She said that in a deposition Under Oath.

To a lawyer.

And she wasn't the only one, their CFO Edward Toporzycki said he didn't know Saturn's

financial condition while he was involved with the company.

He's the CFO!

FInancial is in his title!

So in 2010 three GM companies, Pontiac, Hummer, and Saturn, all closed their doors, producing

their last car, probably for good.

While General Motors ended up surviving the recession, their grand experiment in "a

new kind of car company", which they called Saturn, did not.

I think Saturn could have been great if GM had let them stay true to their mission.

They created Saturn to be a new kind of company, and at the start, they were.

What doomed this company that GM created to run differently, was that GM ran it like GM.

The Surprising Truth About SUCCESS | by Tanvir Ahmed - Duration: 2:38.

Imagine being rewarded for your failures, as well as your success.

You see, most people view failure as a conclusion, as a reflection of who, and what, they are.

But failure is an inevitable part of life, even for the most successful people on the planet.

In fact, failure is a necessary step on the path to success.

Tom Watson, the founder of IBM, once said, "If you want to succeed, double your failure

rate."

So, if the purpose of our schools is to equip our children with the tools necessary to succeed,

why are we not teaching them about failure?

You see, we grow up with this distorted view of the world where we think that failure is

not supposed to happen and when it does it means we're doing something wrong.

We've had this drilled into our heads from our earliest days in school.

But that's not the case because failure isn't the opposite of success as most people believe

it to be.

It is a key component of it.

I actually believe that failures are the stepping stones to success.

Lemme give you a few examples.

There was a student once whose teacher said was too stupid to learn anything, that student

was Thomas Edison.

Then there was a newspaper man who was fired by his editor because he lacked imagination

and had no good ideas, this gentleman was Walt Disney

who later went on to win 22 Academy Awards.

26 times in his NBA career, Michael Jordan was trusted with the game winning shot, and

guess what, he failed.

Being able to fight through, pick yourself up and get yourself back on track is in and

of itself a success.

Every single one of us will fail, but being able to accept it, learn from it and move

on is a life lesson that each and every one of us must learn.

Therefore, encouraging and embracing failure is the single most important thing that we

need in education today.

Failure, dare I say it, must be celebrated, learned from and shared.

I want each and every one of you to fail.

Fail magnificently.

Fail spectacularly.

Fail gloriously, mind-blowingly, amazingly, cuz if you've never failed, you've never really

tried anything new.

Failure is not only an option.

It is a necessity so that you may succeed.

And remember, you are an amazing person, and I love you.

lead Well, I found a girl, beautiful and sweet

Oh, I never knew you were the someone waiting for me

'Cause we were just kids when we fell in love Not knowing what it was

I will not give you up this time But darling, just kiss me slow

Your heart is all I own And in your eyes you're holding mine

Baby, I'm dancing in the dark With you between my arms

Barefoot on the grass Listening to our favourite song

When you said you looked a mess I whispered underneath my breath

But you heard it, Darling, you look perfect tonight

Well, I found a woman, stronger than anyone I know

She shares my dreams, I hope that someday I'll share her home

I found a love to carry more than just my secrets

To carry love, to carry children of our own

We are still kids but we're so in love Fighting against all odds

I know we'll be alright this time Darling, just hold my hand

Be my girl, I'll be your man I see my future in your eyes

Baby, I'm dancing in the dark With you between my arms

Barefoot on the grass Listening to our favourite song

When I saw you in that dress Looking so beautiful

I don't deserve this Darling, you look perfect tonight

Baby, I'm dancing in the dark With you between my arms

Barefoot on the grass Listening to our favourite song

I have faith in what I see Now I know I have met an angel in person

And she looks perfect I don't deserve this

Nissan Leaf vs Hyundai IONIQ review - Duration: 21:10.

We're all moving toward electric driving.

I wonder if we'll all be driving electric, or maybe I have to rephrase the question.

When will we all be driving electric? This can be a discussion.

Fact is, there are multiple electric car suppliers on the market now.

There's Tesla with the Model S and Model X.

To be honest, their price category is out of reach for most people.

Expensive cars. Pretty cars with fantastic specs, but there are other suppliers.

What is a "normal" car? What is a modal car?

What is most common? I think C segment cars.

This includes the e-Golf, coming soon.

This is the new Nissan Leaf. It was the first C segment electric car.

Many have been sold. This is the second generation.

Behind me is its rival, the Hyundai Ioniq.

Fun thing is, the Ioniq is available with all kinds of powertrains.

There's a plug-in hybrid, a hybrid, and a fully electric version.

We'll be driving both today.

We know the limitations of electric cars.

If we want to go to southern France in a hurry, I'd choose a different car for now.

Even though road-side charging is getting better with quick chargers and apps with charging points.

A gasoline or diesel car probably arrives in southern France first.

However, you don't drive to southern France every day.

Unless you live there, but you're already there and have no problems with range.

We're going to drive both and compare them.

Will it make you happy and what's the range under different conditions?

It's cold, even though I'm wearing a summer jacket.

It's a bit windy, but the sun does shine.

Let's go on a little trip.

Maybe you're watching this video as a petrolhead and the Leaf doesn't appeal to you.

I can imagine. This car doesn't have sporty genes.

We're taking a right here. Let's see, I can turn indicate.

The E-Panel is on. That means it brakes when you lift the throttle.

I basically need only one pedal. That was an aside because I needed to take this exit.

I was talking about the Leaf. Does it appeal to petrolheads?

They like sporty driving and engine sound. You don't have the latter in an EV.

It's not a sporty car either.

On the other hand, don't forget this is the bestselling electric car ever.

300,000 Leafs have already been sold at the beginning of 2018.

That was the old Leaf with a tiny battery.

It does meet a demand. Many have been sold in the United States and Japan.

This shows there's a market for it.

I wanted to tell you if you're watching this video as a petrolhead.

There's a chance that you clicked on this video.

About the new Leaf.

It has less of an electro styling. I think it looks like a more normal car.

The Ioniq does have the Prius topping.

These cars show they're meant to be an eco vehicle and that they're electric or a hybrid.

I know the Prius does have fans.

Maybe the current Prius not so much. The previous Prius definitely did.

Do I have to go right? No, that's the highway. Let's not go there.

That's a nice transition to the range.

This is the new Leaf. We'll talk about range, highway, city, and weather conditions later.

The new Leaf has a bigger battery of nearly 40 kWh.

That's a big upgrade compared to the previous Leaf.

In theory you could do 400 km (249 miles).

The range is a thing with these cars. How far can you drive with it?

It depends when you ask this question.

An electric car has a disadvantage in winter.

An internal combustion engine burns gasoline, diesel, LPG, or green gas.

Something burns inefficiently. The byproduct is called heat, which can warm up the car.

The passengers will be warm; everything is fine.

An electric car doesn't have that.

In a Leaf you can switch the heating on and off.

There's a button saying "heat". It has to co-fire, as it were.

This requires a lot of electricity.

Your range is much shorter in winter than in summer. That's one thing.

Second, an internal combustion engine has a disadvantage in the city.

You brake and lose heat through the brake discs or drum brakes.

You burn fuel for nothing, letting it disappear into the atmosphere.

Braking in an electric car regenerates energy.

In the city this car is in its element.

The best range you can get from this generation Leaf is in summer.

It shouldn't be too warm, because the A/C needs electricity too.

City traffic, not too warm, and you can do 350-360 km (217-224 miles).

You'll have to do your best, but it's possible.

Worse case scenario is on the highway in winter below freezing.

You have to turn up the heat or wear a thick coat. Maybe you won't.

150-170 km (93-106 miles) is doable like that, depending on your speed.

I'm doing 110 kph (68 mph) on the speedometer.

The Leaf will use more electricity than when you do 100 or 90 kph (62 or 56 mph).

You do have to consider what you're using the car for.

Realistically you can always do 250 km (155 miles) if you slow down.

If you don't slow down, it burns rubber.

You get instant torque. That'd be 320 Nm (236 lb ft).

Peak performance is 148 hp.

We timed the car with our new equipment. It does 0-100 kph (62 mph) in 9.2 seconds.

That's okay. The top speed is less okay, but you won't buy this car for its speed.

You'll use a lot of electricity. 144 kph (89 mph).

We did that speed and are proud of it.

We don't always get to drive a car at its top speed.

This car really isn't slow. The torque is always available.

It's nice to drive. There are more things I want to talk about.

The Leaf has all kinds of assistent systems now.

ProPilot, so you have adaptive cruise control and it stays in between the lines.

The warnings are annoying. It buzzes.

I don't think you can hear, but it's like an annoying doorbell.

You can probably switch it on and off.

The car's practical use.

You can complain about the car's range isn't sufficient in winter,

but it's often used as a taxi.

Of course this is promoted.

Sometimes an electric taxi is allowed to stand in front of the queue, diesel has to stand in the back.

This promotes the electric taxi.

This is a hatchback with five seats and plenty of luggage space.

I think it's comfortable enough and fast enough if you don't want to race on the Autobahn.

You can use a quick charger. This means 80% in 40 minutes.

However, if the battery gets too hot, the quick charger takes it down a notch.

The car's electronics make sure you don't use a quick charger too often

because it's bad for the battery.

Nissan and Leaf owners are having a discussion about what to do.

Nissan says they have the experience of all owners. This is what people want.

Some owners say they want to go to southern France and use a quick charger every time.

That's a thing to keep in mind.

If you do want to drive long distances with the Leaf, check the latest status of the discussion.

This can be solved with a software update.

Do realize that using a quick charger often is bad for the battery.

To take the elephant out of the room: the battery of the first generation Leaf.

300,000 cars were sold, but only a few batteries have been replaced because of capacity loss.

They seem sturdy enough.

Charging won't kill the battery, like you can with the iPhone.

You can throw your iPhone away after two years because the battery is dead. You know.

When you see an Ioniq, only the gray nose will tell you it's an EV.

It's also available as a plug-in hybrid and hybrid.

Some people wrap the nose black. It's not...

It interrupts me. That's lane-keeping assist.

I'm switching it off because it beeps. Let me demonstrate.

That's an annoying sound interrupting the video.

This costs as much as the Leaf.

It starts at 34,000 euros.

It was a rather popular car this past period, as was the Leaf.

The demand wasn't extremely high, but you have to look carefully if you want one now.

The new Leaf is an eyesore for Hyundai, because it has more horsepower, a bigger battery,

more torque, it's newer, has a long range, so why is the Ioniq still here?

I think there's still a market for this car.

It's funny. I think this car is more energy efficient.

The range is 280 km (174 miles) on paper.

You can do that in summer without using the A/C.

In winter, using the heater on the highway, it's halved.

140 km (87 miles) is about it.

And all the ranges in between.

This car likes city traffic best.

The fun thing about the Ioniq... The car's shape already gives it away.

It's very streamlined. The drag coefficient is 0.24.

That's a nice basis to get further at highway speeds.

We're doing 80 kph (50 mph) now.

The air resistance does count.

As does the rolling resistance of the tires.

Most EVs, except for Teslas, have relatively narrow tires.

There's usually not an option for bigger rims.

That has to do with saving the range.

This car has an electric motor and a 1-speed transmission.

It's a fixed gear.

118 hp and 295 Nm (218 lb ft) torque.

I did 0-100 kph (62 mph) in 9.8 seconds.

That's slower than the Leaf, but it's not a big difference.

You can also measure the quarter mile, but this car is faster on the half mile (800 meters).

The streamline counts at high speeds.

I haven't mentioned the battery's capacity yet. It's 28 kWh.

It's not that big, so Hyundai may change that and supply a bigger battery.

They'll have the Hyundai Kona SUV soon. That one has 64 kWh.

Who knows, maybe the Ioniq will get an upgrade.

This car was faster on the half mile.

This is of no use in the real world.

Even with less horsepower, this car accelerates better at highway speeds.

The top speed is higher too. The Leaf does 144 kph (89 mph), the Ioniq does 165 kph (103 mph).

This does you no good on longer distances because it drains the battery.

You can't do a video about C segment EVs without the overall market leader.

We asked Casper to drive the e-Golf from Leusden to Goes. That's a nice trip. He liked it.

He had to charge it too.

Here we are. The sun is out, so that's nice.

This is a pretty e-Golf.

I should be able to charge it here.

I can't see it's charging anywhere.

I don't see the range increasing either.

Anyway, electric driving is great, but you have a problem if the chargers don't work.

Trucks are overtaking me.

5 kilometer range and 1.7 kilometers to go. We're going to make it.

Now we can include the e-Golf. The specs are similar, yet they aren't.

The e-Golf isn't a full EV.

The Ioniq is available with other powertrains as well, but the main goal is EV.

The Leaf too. A number of things show this.

The styling. Love it or hate it.

The engine bay of the e-Golf has a lot of extra space.

That's strange. Some components could've been in a different location. They could've done it differently.

In the transition period toward EV only, some cars won't be optimized for the battery, motors, etc.

That's a lot of stuff.

The e-Golf is more expensive than this duo.

Both are 34,000 euros. The e-Golf is 39,500 euros.

That's the "price" to pay to drive a normal car electrically.

Most people don't care about the price. It's often used as a company vehicle.

That means 4% additional tax liability over the original price.

In the end it's all about the additional tax liability. The 5,000 euro difference doesn't matter.

The additional tax liability is very low.

A new rule will probably be introduced in 2019.

You'll only have a low additional tax liability over the first 50,000 euros and 22% over the rest.

This'll make the exact price of the car important,

but if you stay below 50,000 euros there's no issue with EVs.

We're getting to the conclusion. Can we handle it?

When do you want this? There's a tax advantage and some simply think it's cool to drive an EV.

Because of the environment, the technology, the...

You couldn't see Martijn's head move, but I did.

I went full throttle at 100 kph (62 mph). The electric torque is cool.

Another cool thing about these cars is they're pretty stuffed with technology.

Assistant lane departure, adaptive cruise control, connectivity, apps,

you can set when you want to charge, pre-heat at the charger, etc.

These are all cool things, things you need because an EV is more critical about range and heating.

Still, it's fun. I think it's nice to drive.

It does have to match your usage profile, though.

I drive great distances, going from Rotterdam to Goes to drive some cars,

or to the Flevopolder to do things, or to Germany to drive some cars.

This happens more often.

Concluding, the Leaf has an advantage.

It has a bigger battery than the Ioniq and Golf.

The styling is personal.

Many think the Golf is very boring.

The e-Golf is a bit boring too. It doesn't have big rims.

The Ioniq has an eco EV car styling.

The Leaf is more normal. It's a nice car and it beats the other cars with its range.

All three cars have a practical use.

That means we made progress in the past few years.

The first generation Leaf has a range of 130 km (81 miles), if you are lucky.

Maybe half. That's barely enough for groceries.

These cars do 160-200 km (99-124 miles) under all conditions.

Sometimes you have to go slower, but you can go somewhere.

We're not completely there yet. A bigger range would be nice.

We do know this will come.

Meet Sahir, a Flexible Learning Student @ the UvA - Duration: 0:52.

I am Sahir, I'm 28 and a second year Economics & Business student at the University of Amsterdam.

And I'm also a flexible learning student.

I chose for that because I'm also an airline pilot.

As a flexible learning student, you pay per credit.

This doesn't mean you can create your own curriculum.

You have the same curriculum as any other student.

However, you can study at your own pace.

For example, if you only do half of the regular course load in a semester,

You only need to pay for the courses you actually take, and not the full course load.

This is convenient for me, because as an airline pilot I have a very irregular work schedule.

The days I need to fly vary depending on my schedule.

As a flexible learning student, I can now plan my course load around my work schedule, and avoid missing too many courses.

A Better Super System for You - Duration: 2:20.

Our super system has become a lottery – lucky for most people but unlucky for many others.

We've got some ideas to make the super system work better for everyone – and we need to

make sure young people are put into ONE top performing fund.

It's hard to get young people interested in their super.

And you can't blame them because today super is more complex than it should be.

But we can make changes so the super system works better for today's workers and retirees.

In today's super system, if you don't choose where your super money goes, your employer

does.

And we've found that your money isn't always ending up in the best performing super

fund.

A small difference in how your fund performs will make a big difference when you retire.

We think new employees should get to choose from a small list of the top performing super

funds, a best in show list, but still be able to pick any fund they want.

And if you don't choose a fund, then your default fund comes from the best in show list.

Once you are put in this fund, it will follow you, across every new job and new employer

Unless you make a choice to move to another fund.

This will stop your super balance being eaten up by multiple fees and insurance premiums.

In some cases you might be paying premiums for insurance you're not even eligible to

claim on – a zombie insurance policy.

For people who are already paying super we have some ideas on how to get more people

into the top performing funds and how to stop people having multiple accounts they don't

want.

Even if you aren't that young, you can be a lot better off in retirement.

These changes will make it easier for you to find the best performing funds so you can

safely decide whether you should stay or move funds.

And so you can also get helpful advice when you get closer to retirement.

We want to hear from you, on what you think about our ideas.

Hey guys, today I'm gonna be trying out something with my iPhone.

I'm gonna type in some random words and then let my phone autocomplete the rest.

Sooooo...

We're gonna see how this is gonna go and where my iPhone is gonna take me, so...

Have fun.

Okay, so how this is gonna go: I'm gonna type in a word

jesus...

Hel-lo

And then, y'know, I'm gonna take- I'm gonna pick the autocomplete words.

Alright so after I clicked on a few autocomplete words

let's see what it says.

"Hello my dream to you and you have to do a happy hour with a smile on the phone and you are happy with the rest you are able and you are happy with it and I am happy with that I am able I love myself I love my dream"

wtf

I love that "I love myself" is kind of... kind of repeated here

It's as if like my phone either wants me to love myself or my phone loves itself which is...

both great.

I

hate

my

life

There's a lot of love happening in here.

A lot of love and happiness which...

I mean, I love having a happy phone, y'know.

"I hate my life being able and my family to myself that is not being your love myself to do that and being able and to be able to be with myself with my friends that love and love you love and being happy and happy you love and you have to do love you and love myself love and you have to be able to be with my mom"

That's some good advice right there.

How about a new sentence...

I... ate... a... ba...nana

... and you have a happy happy thanksgiving

Where did thanksgiving come from?

happy...happy...anniversary!

happy...happy...christmas!

happy happy with you happy happy- jeez

At this point "happy" doesn't even sound like a word anymore.

to you happy (oh god) h-(noo) with you yeah happy omg

What is it with happy???

What is that supposed to mean?

Is that like the key to life? Like, to happiness?

Is this like some deep sh*t message?

Like I'm gonna start off a sentence with... poo

To do it myself I love myself

I mean that's just a sentence right there: "Poo to do it myself I love myself"

That's just me in one sentence.

My... butt... hurts...

and you are happy

"My butt hurts and you are happy"?

Thank you ;)

The weather is (oh god) is bad

for... me

"The weather is bad for me", as if it's like bad for my health.

I am hungry

for the food

What else would I be hungry for?

I mean, don't answer that.

I like to be happy... happy

"I like to be happy happy"

That's just my philosophy.

Hakuna... Ma...Ta...Ta

is the season for

ARGHAGAHGAHG

My fat finger... for the

WTF

for the next game to be happy

And again! We came back to happy.

How can all of these sentences

(well not all of them) but most of them end in happy?

WHAT IS WRONG?

Well guys, so I think we were able to prove that autocomplete sucks

and that whatever you're gonna type it ends in happy. Soo...

Just be happy, just...

be loved, be who you are and...

Don't use autocomplete. Please don't.

Can travel really bring you happiness | 旅行真的可以帶給你快樂嗎 [CC] - Duration: 5:00.

Hello guys~long time no see :D

I am too busy(lazy...) to make new videos these days ><

Sorry and thank you guys still give me a lot of support xoxo

Today I wanna share some ideas with you~

Okay maybe you are not really interested in it lol

(suddenly speechless >_< haha)

haha I feel so awkward right now ...have no idea how to continue this

Anyways!

Let's start it !

A few weeks ago,I read an article and wanna share the ides with you guys :D

It's saying about that our life is like an box

We are living in the box ,doing the same things everyday,

leaving a mundane life everyday and it's tiring

we tend to find some excitement in life like going on a trip

and try to bury your head in the sand ><

The excitement(a travel)will become a motivation in your daily boring tiring life

let's say you are going on a trip after 200 days

So you make up my mind that you need work harder from now on

so that you could enjoy the trip

However, after the trip ,you back to the reality

you live a mundane life again

so you start to count down your next trip again

As time goes by, you will feel tired of this kind of circle

okay ! so now you are sick of everything here and want to make a big change in life

then you move to another country

now you are living the whole new life in a foreign country

you feel so excited about everything!

people, culture differences, ...etc !

Everything is just so amazing !

Take me for an example

When I came to Korea in the beginning

everything for me was so amazing!

including people here I met ,culture shocks even the subway!

I felt so excited to explore this city at that time

But now I've already been here for almost 2 years

I somehow lost the passion for this city

sometimes I even feel tired of living here >< so stressed out

What I want to say is

No matter where you are now

After a while , those used to bring excitement for you in life

would just become nothing special for you

and you would lost the passion for your life again

you start to think to find other exciting things

it's just like a endless circle

those excitement that you are looking for would be faded out one day as time goes by

Conclusion is !!

We need to find the meaning in our current life

what kind of things can really bring you happiness

It's important to know what things can bring value for you

not to chase a short-term happiness in your life

To be honest , I am still confused about my life

I was so amazed by this article when I read it at first time

so I wanna share this concept with you ~

If you have any ideas ,feedback or questions

or ... you have your own way in finding the value in your life

please share with me (comment below :D )

I would like to make videos about visa type in korea

or how to find jobs in Korea (what websites you can use ..etc)

even though you are not good at Korean how can you survive here

ok~~~see you guys in next video !

oh and if you are interested in any topic about Korea life just let me know!

Something like the interesting stories that I have in Korea

umm...or some tips for surviving in Korea

how to rent a house in Korea

anyways! let me know what kind of topic you are interested in :D

comment below~~

Bye bye 881~~~~xoxo

8 Things About Rozzi You Should Know! | Billboard - Duration: 2:47.

- [Rozzi] Hey this is Billboard,

and you should know me, Rozzi.

I grew up in San Francisco.

My first job was,

I was a background singer for Sergio Mendez,

when I was 19.

Every night before I perform, if I'm nervous,

I watch endless live Beyonce videos backstage,

and I'm usually nervous, so I usually do that.

And then before I go on,

whoever I'm playing with,

we put our hands in the middle,

and I like Outkast a lot, so I'll say, "Lend me some sugar."

And then I go, "I am your neighbor."

And then we go, "OW!"

And then go onstage.

What motivates me?

Probably the connection I feel,

with total strangers through music.

I've grown up feeling connected to artists,

that I've never met and that just,

has always been the most inspiring thing to me in the world.

And now, to kind of turn the tables and feel connections,

with people I've never met who are connecting to my music.

I just think,

that's the most incredible feeling in the world.

The most sentimental item I own.

I have like a box,

my roommate and I each have them,

my best friend, we call them memmies or memory boxes.

And they're filled with like every sentimental thing.

I kept all the tour laminates, and ticket stubs,

and letters from my ex-boyfriends,

and like all sorts of like tear jerking,

tear inducing memory things in the memmy.

The first song I wrote was called, "Why Not Me?"

and I can't, this is a mistake, already,

That's the chorus, and everyone joins in.

I've never forgotten it, it's kind of catchy.

The song that people should listen to first,

to get into my music.

I think Uphill Battle, is the best introduction to me,

cause it's kind of, I'm describing myself,

I'm kind of painting a picture of who I am,

maybe on my worst days,

but that's probably the best introduction.

I wrote Uphill Battle like a week after I wrote,

Never Over You, and I've been writing a lot of like,

relationship frustration songs,

where I was currently feeling,

very frustrated in the relationship.

And a lot of the songs were,

pointing out the things that maybe he was doing wrong,

and Uphill Battle was maybe a moment for me,

to consider that I might have something to do with it.

So it started off from that place,

it ultimately was concept I've been trying to write,

for a really long time because it's just something,

I've always felt like this frustration with things,

about me that are just in my blood,

and it drives me crazy,

and that kind of felt like the right moment,

to finally write about it.

Raisin Water for a Liver Cleanse - Duration: 7:40.

Raisin Water for a Liver Cleanse

Have you ever heard about the benefits of raisin water? It's amazing and an excellent addition to your diet, especially for promoting good liver health.

In these articles we often recommend simple and natural remedies to detox and strengthen your liver, and today we want to talk about one in particular that is guaranteed to give you great results.

So what's the big secret behind raisin water? It stimulates particular biochemical processes in the liver that help it detox your bloodstream more effectively.

The benefits of mostly come from the grapes themselves, which you might already know about.

If you follow this treatment for four days straight, you'll notice your digestion improves and you have much more energy.

Would you really miss out on this opportunity?.

Do you know what the benefits of raisin water are?.

Doctors often recommend that you eat raisins in the morning to take better care of your heart, eliminate bad cholesterol, lower your triglyceride levels, and prevent constipation or an upset stomach.

Raisins are a natural source of vitamins and minerals, but those benefits are increased tremendously if you consume the water that they are soaked in.

This is because the sugar content is reduced, and you're still obtaining an excellent medicinal remedy for the liver.

Let us explain!.

A natural source of antioxidants.

It's important to keep in mind that raisins are one of the best natural sources for antioxidants.

All you need to remember is that they're just dried grapes, which are a fruit that's rich in bioflavonoids that help protect you from free radicals and strengthen your defenses against disease.

Raisins and raisin water have been traditionally used to prevent the occurrence of various heart and liver diseases.

It's worth keeping in mind.

Helps detox the body.

As you already know, both the liver and the kidneys are essential organs that cleanse your blood, removing the toxins and heavy metals that accumulate in the body and can ultimately make you sick.

But sometimes these important functions are inhibited by poor dietary choices, eating too many fatty foods, or bad daily habits.

Drinking raisin water for four days straight at least once a month will help your liver better perform its functions, especially when it comes to detox, and you'll notice its benefits during those times that you feel heavy or notice that your digestion is slow or painful.

Aids in digestion.

Drinking raisin water is a simple but effective method to purify the bloodstream and stimulate good liver function, and it also improves your digestion.

It promotes the segregation of stomach acids, helping you process your food better and absorb the nutrients.

You'll begin to notice these benefits around two days after starting your raisin water regimen.

How do you make raisin water?.

Ingredients. 2 cups of water (400 ml).

150 grams of raisins.

Preparation.

First of all, we recommend that you choose your raisins carefully.

Ignore the very bright, shiny ones, because their gloss is not natural and is actually the result of chemical treatments that are applied to make them appear more attractive.

Search for raisins that are darker in color, and neither too hard or soft.

Choose whole raisins, and make sure they're also clean.

Wash the raisins, then set them aside.

Heat the two cups of water to a boil.

Add the raisins and allow them to simmer for 20 minutes.

It's simple.

But this isn't all you need to do, as the raisins need to continue to soak in this water overnight.

The next morning, just strain off the water from the raisins and heat some of that delicious water back up.

You can drink it warm or hot, however you like, but it's most important that you drink it on an empty stomach right after waking up.

Then wait 30 to 35 minutes before eating breakfast.

Ideally you'll do this for several days in a row, and at night leave everything prepared to drink your raisin water the minute you wake up the next morning.

Remember to follow this regimen for four days, at least.

Always choose the darkest raisins in color, and make sure they haven't gone through any processing that could be harmful for your health.

Buy organic raisins or get them from natural stores where you know they haven't been grown or treated with chemicals and pesticides.

You can use this treatment once a month, and it has no side effects.

What's most interesting is that you avoid the high sugar intake that is normally found in raisins.

If you also follow a diet that's low in fat and includes plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables you'll promote better liver health overall, and raisin water makes an excellent complement to your routine.
