Matt: Imagine you're just hanging out with your friends and you see a drop-dead

gorgeous woman that makes your heart skip a beat and your stomach flip. You

start to imagine what her ass looks like under that dress when suddenly

everything that you wanted to say to her seems to suddenly get sucked out of your

brain and you're left completely blank. Before you even have a chance to make

your move, she disappears. Never to be seen again. If you're nodding your head

in agreement and reliving the frustration, don't worry, you're not alone.

After all most of us are just not taught how to talk to women when we're growing

up. The good news is it doesn't have to be this way. Learning how to talk to

beautiful women and sparking attraction is a learning skill just like any other.

I'm Matt Artisan from The Attractive Man, and this is four tips to talk to

girls to spark attraction.

-Into sequence-

Narrator: Many boot camps encourage men to be assertive

Matt: A woman wants to be turned on. We've done all the testing, we know what works.

www.TheAttractiveMan.com

Number one: Opposites attract.

Would you like to know the key to making her sexually attracted to you? Show her your

masculine side. For there to be sexual attraction

you need to have polarity between masculine and feminine energy. You see

the women that you probably find most appealing are deeply attracted to

masculine men. Just like how you're probably attracted to very feminine

women. Just like magnets, when you put the same charged sides together they repel.

But when you bring two opposite sides together, they attract. So make sure to

show her a lot of your strong masculine side because she won't want to sleep

with you if you show too much of your soft feminine side. Unless she's a very

masculine woman of course. That means speak loudly with a powerful low voice

stand up tall and be proud. No slouching or closed body language, speak your mind

and don't be afraid to say no to her. This basically means don't be a pleaser

or supplicate and always make sure to lead the interaction and bring her into

your world. And of course have strong eye contact this is absolutely crucial. This

means don't blink too much or shift from eye to eye as you're looking at her. Now

I'm not saying that you should be aggressive to her, don't do that. But if

you act like a wimp you're not gonna get the girl, period.

Number two is: Emotion versus logic. One common mistake that a lot of guys make

when learning how to talk to beautiful women is they communicate logically when

they should be communicating emotionally. While logic certainly has its time in

place, it's certainly not the language of seduction. Women respond to emotions. For

example when you're teasing them, or breaking rapport, you're spiking emotions

of fun and excitement, and when you're building a connection, you're spiking

emotions of safety, security, and intimacy. On the contrary speaking logically

pretty much has no benefit when it comes to turning on women or making them want

to be with you. So instead you need to speak through feeling and connect with

her emotion, spark her emotions. Doesn't mean you need to always be talking about

feelings, it should almost be like an emotional roller coaster where the

emotions go all over the place. If it's just flat-lined, and then

you're gonna end up in the friend zone. And don't worry, I'm gonna show you

exactly how to do that that's why I created a free Conversation Cheat Sheet

and I have a link for you down in the description. Number three: Self-amusement.

Self-amusement is exactly what it sounds like. It's using the interaction as an

opportunity to amuse yourself. This is where guys really screwed up because

they do the opposite, they're always trying to amuse her but that just comes

off as needy, supplicating, and reaction seeking, and doesn't work. Once you get

the hang of it, you'll never run out of things to say, you'll feel good talking

about things that actually matter to you, instead of doing what most guys do and

try to amuse her, try to entertain her, but when you're interested in or amused

by what you're saying you'll be speaking with enthusiasm and passion and the girl

will naturally be interested as well. Here's a few ways to self amuse: Talk

about things that you're passionate about. When you're talking about your

interest or your hobbies speak with passion in your voice. Remember

enthusiasm is contagious. Also debating topics that you find

interesting. However, stay away from politics or religion, unless however her

political view or religious view could be a deal-breaker, in that case figure

that out as soon as possible. You can also make jokes that you think are funny

regardless of whether she thinks it's funny or not. Now try not to offend her,

however one time I was at the bar with one of my good friends, and he cracked a

penis joke and the girl just rolled her eyes and walked away, but we didn't

really care. Neither of us were trying to impress her, we were just having fun and

being self amused and I noticed that she looked back at us to notice our reaction

of her leaving and saw that we didn't really care, she came straight back and

she said "Well okay I guess that joke was pretty funny" and I was like "Heck yeah

d**k jokes are always funny!" You can also just tell her to do something that

amuses you, for example: I like to have girls draw me pictures, and a lot of them

actually do it. Oh hey by the way, if you're not already subscribed, hit that

subscribe button because I have a lot of videos coming out. Number four is:

Qualification. Qualifying a girl is basically just testing to see if she

fits certain criteria that are important to you and this demonstrates that you're

a man with standards and it puts her in the position of trying to prove herself

to you. Perhaps most importantly it ensures that the women that you're

allowing into your life are the exact types of people you want to surround

yourself with. Now before you qualify a woman, you need to take the time to

actually figure out what's important to you in a woman. For example: What

personality traits do you value? How do you want her to treat herself and those

around her? How do you want her to be sexually? The more specific you are with

your qualifications, the clearer the image of your ideal girl will be in your

head, which will make it easier for you to spot her when you see her. Once you

know what you want you can simply ask the girl questions to see if she matches

the qualities that you're looking for. For example, if I want a girl with some

sort of passion in life, I might ask: "So tell me something that you're interested

in, like I don't know what are you passionate about?" If I want a girl that

would be down to go hiking with me, I might ask: "Have you ever been hiking?" "Yeah"

"And did you like it? What did you think about it?"

Once you're able to congruently qualify women, she'll be eating out of the palm

of your hands. I know that sounds kind of bad, but listen man, women love a man

who's a challenge. They don't want to feel like you're attracted to them just

because their looks, or that they won you over just like that. She wants to feel

like she had to earn your attraction to her, so hopefully you're beginning to

understand how powerful it is to be the type of man who knows how to talk to

women in a way that demonstrates that he has standards. Now if you want to learn

more of exactly what to say and how to talk to women,

I created a free Conversation Cheat Sheet. You get my top conversation

starters for any situation, simple techniques to never run out of things to

say, simple ways to escalate the interaction and more. Download it right

Cheat Sheet. And if you're not subscribed to our channel then go ahead and hit

Why Do We Have Eyebrows? - Duration: 3:56.

Hey, Squeaks!

I have a great idea.

I'm going to show you a feeling, like happy or sad, and you have to guess what I'm thinking

of, without me saying a word.

Got it?

[Squeaks squeaks]

Do you know what feeling I'm thinking of?

[Squeaks squeaks]

You're right — I'm pretending to be scared!

But how can you tell?

What's different about my face?

See how my eyebrows go up?

That's how you can tell.

Your brain knows that eyebrows arching up like that means "scared."

Let's try one more!

Ready?

[Squeaks squeaks]

Oh no, Squeaks, I'm not really angry!

[Squeaks squeaks]

Did you all know I was pretending to be angry, too?

How could you tell?

Look how my eyebrows go down and angle in like that.

When you think about it, it's kind of weird that we have these random bits of hair on

our foreheads.

You have the hair on your head, and then the smooth skin of your face, and then bam: two

more patches of hair where your eyebrows are.

But they're actually really important!

Your eyebrows help you express all sorts of different emotions to the world, without you

having to say a word.

If your forehead was covered with hair or fur, it would be much harder to see your eyebrows,

and they wouldn't do as good of a job of expressing different feelings.

So it helps that they stand out on your face!

Your eyebrows have another job, too, besides helping you show what you're feeling.

They protect your eyes from all sorts of stuff, like water, sweat, and anything else that

might get into your eyes.

They're almost like little umbrellas.

An umbrella curves downward so that the rain can fall off the sides of it.

Otherwise, the rain would just collect right on top.

That wouldn't be so helpful!

And your eyebrows have a natural curve to them too, called an arch.

It's like a part of a circle – there's a high point in the middle, and then both

sides of it point downward.

So if you're out in the rain, your eyebrows make sure you don't get water in your eyes,

which would make it hard to see.

And when you sweat, which is something your body naturally does to cool itself down, your

eyebrows do the same thing: they keep the sweat out of your eyes!

You wouldn't want sweat in your eyes because for one thing, it would be hard to see.

Plus, sweat is naturally salty, which could bother your eyes a bit!

We know our eyesight is important because, not to brag, but human vision is pretty incredible.

Overall, people are pretty good at seeing things that are far away — even if they

have to use glasses to help them.

And when we look at something that's far, we're also good at knowing how far away

it is.

Plus, most people can see more than a million colors!

So, our eyes are pretty special, and our eyebrows are there to keep them healthy and happy.

Scientists think the reason why we have such awesome eyesight is because a really long

time ago, people had to watch out for animals that might attack them.

If you were a human way back when, and you were running from a predator like a big hyena

or a saber-toothed cat or a poisonous snake, you would need to be able to see where the

animal was and where you were running to.

And if you were sweating, or it was raining, or there was dust being kicked up while you

were running, you would not want any of that to get into your eyes!

So, in a way, your eyebrows really save the day!

These days, you don't need to worry about being chased down by hyenas.

But it still helps that your eyebrows protect your eyes, like if it's a hot day and you're

running around on the playground, or if it's raining and you don't have an umbrella.

They do all that, and they help you tell the world how you're feeling!

So, can you guess how I'm feeling now?

[Squeaks squeaks]

That's right!

I'm feeling excited, and that's because we've learned so much cool stuff today!

Thanks for joining us!

While-You-Wait Investing: Roth vs Traditional IRA - Duration: 2:11.

While I'm waiting for my computer to load, we should have enough time to go through a

common investor question: What is the difference between a Roth IRA and a traditional IRA?

The differences are pretty significant, and if you're thinking about putting money into

one of these accounts, you should understand the implications.

Let's start with the traditional IRA.

In this type of account, your taxable income is offset by the amount of money you contribute

each year.

So, if you make $50,000 in income, and you contribute $1,000 to an IRA, the IRS will

view your taxable income for the year as only $49,000.

The money you put into traditional IRA grows tax-free for as long as it's in this account.

So, even if you receive ongoing dividends or make trades in the IRA, none of that

income is reported.

Of course, there is a catch, which comes when you start withdrawing money at retirement.

At this point, every distribution is considered income, and you are taxed on the full amount

of the withdrawals.

A second catch is when you reach 70 and a half years old, you are forced to take money

from this account each year.

This is known as a required minimum distribution, or RMD.

The Roth IRA was created in 1997 and reverses the order of when you pay taxes.

You don't get any breaks in the year you make contributions.

Using our previous example, if you make $50,000 in income and contribute $1,000 to a Roth

IRA, the IRS will still tax you on $50,000 in income.

However, the money from that point on is tax-free.

It will continue to grow completely tax-free in that account, and you won't pay any taxes

when you start making withdrawals in retirement.

So, which type of IRA is right for you?

Generally speaking, it's better to use a traditional IRA when you are in a higher tax

bracket now and you expect to be in a lower tax bracket in retirement.

For a Roth, it's just the opposite – if you expect to be in a similar or higher tax

bracket later in life, then it's usually better to pay the lower tax rate now and shield

yourself from taxes at the time you make withdrawals.

Thanks for watching.

Physics Inferno | © Lisa Einstein 2018 - Duration: 2:51.

Today in class no strings no mass—

there's lessons I'd like to revisit.

It's vital to me that you truly see

implications of laws of physics.

You know how they work

you've done your homework

today's for a much deeper dive.

The laws that I teach, the equations I preach

they govern all things in our lives.

They are your tools, stick to their rules

for your sake do not betray them.

For sinners their ignorance made no difference

and since they didn't obey them-

They live in hell and where they dwell

their punishments fit their crimes.

Each sinner's afflicted by sins he committed

and will until the end of time.

First here we find the people in life who never returned what was given.

They took people's nice and didn't think twice

to help those they met on their mission.

Selfish with others which caused them to suffer

the games that they played never fair.

Giving ignored like a frictionless floor

so in hell they have no third law pair.

They walk in one place and no matter their pace

they'll never reach where they're going.

Are you starting to see why physics indeed

is filled with the things worth our knowing?

Reciprocal giving, now that's truly living

but they never realized this fact.

When an object exerts a force in its course

the second exerts one back!

And here can be found those who through ups and downs

didn't find good in their circumstance.

When life became fraught they didn't adopt

a clear optimistic stance.

When dealt a bad hand or things weren't as planned

they turned into saddened complainers.

Their lives didn't pass as an ideal gas

expanding to fill their containers.

Relinquishing power they chose to stay sour

negative, down, and embittered.

In death they are doomed to small spaces in rooms

that actually are much bigger.

If they could have found silver lining abound

or used bad as a chance to create

They would be free from confinement.

You see, ideal gases don't maintain fixed shape!

Finally we reach a thrashing beast

standing guard at a massless door.

You sorted your friends? You'll be sorted then

in buckets that freeze or scold.

Maxwell's Demon sorts this legion.

They never grasped empathy.

Rigid in truths however uncouth

with no effort lowering entropy.

Perhaps by sorting as good or as bad

they thought they were being pragmatic.

But life is complex and they seemed to forget

the laws of thermodynamics.

Before you decide to categorize, becoming a partisan sorter

Remember in fact theres more to it than that—

Processes move to disorder!

Now diligent students you see why you're prudent

in choosing to take physics class?

It may take up time and challenge your mind

but you will all have the last laugh.

Do you consider yourself a team player? - Duration: 1:04.

We are going to discuss a very common team-based interview question, which is:

Do you consider yourself a team player? Every answer needs to be yes, even if you

typically work alone. You must understand that any job you are part of a team. It

may directly be with a group of co-workers or maybe with the company

itself. Every individual in the company is striving for the success of that

organization and that relies on having successful team members throughout the

company. Here is a quick answer example if you

typically work alone. 'Yes, even though my job is rather isolated from the company

I understand I'm part of the company's team and I'm looking for what's best for

the company and the success of our company.' Here's an answer example if you

typically work with other team members. 'Yes, I typically work in group settings

and interact on a daily basis with other departments. I understand the importance

of a positive synergy between departments and I try to make sure each

team is having success because it directly benefits the company. Thank you

Understanding Prorated Billing | AT&T Wireless - Duration: 1:36.

This video shows you

what to expect on your bill

after you change your plan or features.

When you change a plan or feature

with a recurring monthly charge,

you will see charges or credits on your next bill

for a full or partial month,

depending on when you chose to make the change effective.

First, notice the start and end dates

of this month's bill period.

You will see those dates

in the top right hand corner of your paper bill

or the top of the Your Bill page online.

Let's say your bill period starts from the 1st of the month

and you add mobile insurance on the 10th.

When you get your next bill,

you will see partial or prorated charges

for your Mobile Insurance from last month,

starting the day you added that feature.

Or if you removed mobile insurance 10 days

into your billing period,

your next bill will show a credit

for the days the feature was not active on your account.

Or let's say you switch

from an old AT&T wireless plan to a new one,

10 days into your new billing period.

In this case, you will see a credit and a charge.

You will receive a prorated credit

for the days the old plan was no longer active,

and a prorated charge for the days the new plan was active.

Remember, we only charge you for the total number of days

a plan or feature is active on your account.

Proration does not apply to one-time charges

or usage not included in your plans;

such as overages, downloads,

premium content, or equipment charges.

For more information,

you can read our online support article about prorated charges.

Just go to att.com and search for "prorated".

A Short Rant on Technique - Duration: 6:15.

Good evening, ladies and gentlemen.

I sometimes reply to comments on my videos, but not always.

Sometimes I agree with them.

Sometimes I have nothing to add.

Other times, I know not to feed the trolls.

Of course, I'm not here to police comments.

I don't approve of censorship, and so I try to avoid doing it myself.

Whether I agree with you or not, I'll generally let you say whatever you want.

However, there are limits.

Just as there are, in fact, limits to the First Amendment that have been set by the

court.

My limits are few though.

I'll remove a comment if it's consistently and intentionally attacking one of my viewers.

I'll remove a comment that's clearly someone spamming a product.

I'll remove anything that actually violates the law.

And, finally, I'll remove any sort of direct proselytizing of any religion.

And I mean any.

Even if you were to have the same beliefs as I do, if you are actively and directly

trying to proselytize, I will remove such a comment.

That is–as far as I've seen in my time online–the only cases where I feel a need

to remove any comments.

Otherwise, I leave them alone.

I do try to read them, though I may not reply to every one of them.

Right now, it's easy to do.

But as this channel grows it'll become more difficult.

Why am I talking about my comments?

Well, I saw one the other day that was criticizing me because, basically, I didn't support

their views directly or openly.

So, I thought I'd make a video on it.

Not the comment directly, as I don't really care if you criticize me.

I expect that.

And more.

Many of my views, I know, aren't the most popular.

And it's indeed rare that I feel the need to reply to a comment with a video.

But I feel that–in this one case–it might help others who come to my channel looking

for a certain slant.

In short, looking for a sort of confirmation bias.

This video might help them understand the nuance needed to spread a message that might

not always be pleasant and actually have people pay it some attention.

But let me explain what happened first.

I did a video the other day on David Hogg.

The purpose of that video was to look at the irrational fear I've seen portrayed by some

who are comparing Hogg to Hitler.

That was the sole purpose of the video.

The comment I'm replying to called me out because I referred to the event as a shooting.

In short, because I didn't buy in to the narrative that they've already accepted

as fact–which is that it was some sort of government drill.

They said they had to stop listening to my video when I called the event a shooting and

said they were surprised that I'd think the drill was real.

Or surprised that I'd say that I did.

Which goes back to–in my opinion–them looking for someone else to parrot what they've

already accepted as fact.

Had they been listening to what was said in the video–as a whole–they would've realized

that the video wasn't about the event, but about a person.

The event could've been whatever one wishes to believe it was, and it would not change

the message of the video I made.

Those are two separate topics there.

I know how to keep them separate.

For those who are getting offending, demoting this video, and unsubscribing because of what

I just said, allow me to explain why my technique works, and why you might want to try compartmentalization

sometimes.

Let me present a hypothetical situation.

Let's say that I do believe some event was a false-flag, or a drill, or something similar.

Now, let's consider that I want other people to look into this event more closely.

But keep in mind that I'm talking about people who don't already believe such a

thing.

That factor is important.

What's the best method for me to do so?

Is it for me to climb on a soapbox and yell about how it was all a false-flag, a drill,

or the like?

Or is it for me to present some basic, and accepted, facts that both sides technically

agree on and provide some minor commentary that'll encourage them to dig deeper?

I think it should be clear–to anyone with a basic knowledge of human psychology that

the latter is the technique that will most likely be successful.

The former will make them shut you out immediately.

They'll watch a minute of the video and shut it off.

And probably not return.

Or they may read the title of your video, and not even start it.

And this applies to written material as well.

Not just videos.

See, if you come out and yell from your soapbox points A, B, and C, the only people who'll

listen to you are those who already agree with–at least–two out of the three points.

In short, you're talking in an echo chamber.

You're preaching to the choir.

And the great truth that you imagine you want to share with the world–no one is going

to listen.

Except those who already accept it as true.

So, before you call me out for believing, or not believing, any particular narrative

slant of anything I may talk about, stop.

Consider that I'm not necessarily going to come out and forcefully beat people over

the head with my personal beliefs in matters for which there isn't absolute proof.

I might actually believe such a thing, for example, but I know the rules of evidence.

I know logic.

And I know when the amount–and type of–"proof" is not enough to justify coming

out so directly.

A lot of people might believe that there is, and that they're right, and that they have

it all figured out.

But all they're really doing is looking for confirmation bias and showing their ignorance

about just what sort of evidence is needed to move the public to your side en masse.

I'm not trying to offend anyone directly here, which is why I'm not calling anyone

by name, but merely trying to make point.

Though offense is always taken, never given.

And if offense is taken, so what?

You don't have a right to not be offended.

Sometimes telling the truth, whatever it is, so that people will listen is more about using

the right technique than simply blurting out from the rooftops whatever you think the truth

is.

As Emily Dickinson wrote, "Tell all the truth but tell it slant, success in circuit

lies…."

Subtlety has it uses.

If you wish to know more, then I invite you to like the video, subscribe to the channel,

and comment as you will.

Thank you for watching, and good night.

Preventing TBI's by Preventing Falls - Duration: 6:20.

When you look at statistics around brain injury, 47% of them come from falling.

We're going to talk about how to prevent that today.

In the United States, March has been Brain Injury Awareness Month, and we've been posting

some information about this on one of our Instagram page.

One of the graphics that we just put up comes from the US government looking at the causes

of brain injury, and the number one cause, by a huge margin in 2013, was falling, 47%.

Compare that to 17% from traffic accidents, which is where most people would think that

you would have a head injury come from.

Now the reason that we discuss this a lot in our curriculum is we are very interested

in the visual system, but also the vestibular system, your inner ear and its influence on

your movement, your pain, but specifically its job, which is keeping your head from hitting

the floor.

Your balance.

Today what I'm going to go through are just a couple of drills focused on one specific

portion of the vestibular system called the utricle.

Now I'm not going to do a long anatomical discussion today, but you basically have these

organs in your inner ear.

They call them otolith organs.

That means ear stone.

Have you ever heard of people having stones or little crystals in their ear?

This is what they're referring to.

Now you have two different otolith organs.

One is called the utricle.

The other is called the saccule.

You don't need to know that, although there is a quiz at the end.

And the utricle basically gives us information about linear movements of the body.

When I'm walking forward, I'm walking toward the camera, I'm walking backwards, I'm moving

side-to-side, these are going to require the utricle to give me good information.

Now this is a very integrated system, so when I saw we're working on the utricle only, we're

not.

We're going to be involving a lot of other things.

But we have some drills that we have found to be very helpful for just stimulating this

portion of your inner ear, so if you have issues like motion sickness, you have ... let's

say you're in the airport and you're on one of the people movers and things feel a little

bit weird, you feel a little bit dizzy ... these drills can be really helpful for those kind

of situations.

On top of that, if you're an athlete and you have to do a lot of running, sprinting, etc,

sometimes reducing the impact of everything you're doing and really focusing on these

particular drills can have a huge impact on performance, as well.

So let's go through them.

The basic thing that we're going to be working on here are linear movements of the head and

body.

Now the goal for us, whenever we do vestibular work, is to link it to the visual system,

because they're supposed to work together.

The basic setup that I would have you do, first and foremost, first exercise, is you're

going to want a visual target.

For this particular blog, I'm looking at the camera.

But you can set this up anywhere, in your gym, in your house, and I just recommend using

one of our downloads.

Put up a Snellen chart.

It's got the different size letters on it, or some kind of other visual target.

And I normally have people start relatively close, maybe an arm's length from that target,

and you want to have it just slightly below your standing head level, because what we're

going to do is we're going to get into kind of an athletic stance.

So like a quarter squat.

We're then going to focus on one target.

I would be looking at the camera lens, and then as I focus on the target, I would then

begin moving my body side to side.

Now I'm moving fairly quickly.

And what this requires my body to do, it's going to activate the utricle.

It's also going to make the utricle and the visual system try to work together.

Looks pretty simple.

We're just moving side to side, but I try and go faster and faster and faster and still

maintain that clear visual target.

That's drill number one.

Drill number two is you want to make this much more challenging, is you repeat the same

exercise, only now you cover one eye, all right?

Then you cover the other eye.

What you may find is that by removing one of the eyes from the equation, it gets much

more difficult, more challenging.

Maybe you start to feel a little bit weird.

You have the option throughout any of these drills to actually decrease the challenge.

You can go slower.

It can be smaller.

You can use a bigger target.

The idea is to find kind of a challenging movement that you can do, but one that is

relatively comfortable, because obviously we don't want you to feel bad after you do

these.

Now you can take this to another level, should you choose to, by adding in some head tilt

to it.

One of the interesting things about the utricle is that it senses not only motions like this

and forward and backward movement, it also senses head tilts.

Another level to this drill would then be to focus on your target, tilt the head, focus

on the target and then move side-to-side.

And then switch, head tilt, move side-to-side.

Your last layer then, you could do that with one eye at a time using an eye patch or whatever.

Now again, we're just kind of throwing these out there as options for you.

I have no idea what your inner ear is like, what your balance system is like.

Your number one rule here is you have to be safe.

If you get any kind of dizziness, you probably should stop.

Either reduce the speed, reduce the range of motion, reduce the intensity, like the

challenge of the visual system.

And if you still feel bad, you need to stop completely.

Talk to your healthcare provider.

Make sure there's nothing contraindicated for you.

However, these are very powerful simple drills.

In terms of your goals, the idea would be to work up to roughly 30 seconds to a minute

of each iteration of the drill.

Again, find the one that's challenging for you.

If you can do this for a minute and your visual system's never feeling challenge, you're never

feeling any discomfort from it or any balance challenge, I think that's too easy for you.

You again progress your way through, trying to find what is challenging, but still feels

safe.

And then aim to do that maybe 30 seconds to a minute several times a day.

Give this a shot.

If you have any questions about it, please let us know.

Otherwise, good luck with this, and hopefully you will find it will have a tremendous impact

on your balance, as well as your performance.

Thanks.

What you need to know before filing your taxes in N.J. - Duration: 2:08.

There were a significant amount of changes under the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act

and taxpayers should be aware that anything with taxes is a one size fits one situation.

There are differences in how the federal government and New Jersey

calculate taxable wages.

Oftentimes the difference relates to medical premiums and to the extent that

that's what the difference relates to

taxpayers in New Jersey can claim that medical premium expense on their

personal tax return.

Taxpayers in New Jersey can claim medical expenses to the

extent they exceed two percent of their New Jersey gross income. So, for a

taxpayer with a hundred thousand dollars of New Jersey gross income, only the

medical expenses that exceed two percent or two thousand dollars will qualify as

a medical deduction.

Let's say we have a taxpayer whose medical expenses in

excess of the floor are ten thousand dollars. If that taxpayer is in the six

point three seven percent tax bracket they would see a six-hundred and thirty-seven

dollar tax savings simply by claiming that medical expense deduction.

As a revenue-raising provision under the Tax cuts and Jobs Act

there was changes

to the meals and entertainment expense deduction.

Taxpayers who previously

provided meals on their premises for their convenience were entitled to a

hundred percent deduction for those meals expenses. Going forward those

deductions are going to be subject to a fifty percent limitation and in 2026 those

deductions will be no longer allowable and completely disallowed.

New Jersey has said that they will only allow taxpayers to deduct 2017 taxes on their

2017 return and the 2018 real estate taxes will be deductible on their 2018

return, regardless of whether or not those taxes were prepaid or not.

Tax Cuts and Jobs Act is going to impact them it's impacting all taxpayers but they should

be in contact with their tax advisers to really understand what the new law is

going to mean for them and if there's any possible tax planning opportunities

they can be taking advantage of.
