LinkedIn profile stand out is to make your profile keyword heavy. Once you

find a position that really interests you, highlight keywords or phrases that

appear multiple times in the job posting. These words or phrases are indicators of

what the employer is looking for in an ideal

candidate. With these keywords pinpointed, you want to incorporate them into your

headline, your summary and your work experience sections.

Do your best to place emphasis on hard skills rather than soft skills. Soft

skills are things that will show your personality and behavior such as

communication, leadership or even teamwork. Although these skills are

important and employers want to see them, they also want to see more tangible

skills. That's why you want to focus on hard skills. Hard skills will be

something that you've learned or gained from work experience or education. Hard

skills include things like graphic design, accounting, sales and programming.

Think about this step as market research. It's important to tailor your profile to

the position or industry that you want to be in so keywords are going to be

essential to helping you do this. This leads us to step number three to make

your LinkedIn profile stand out and that is to make connections. Believe it or not,

recruiters and hiring managers want to know who you know. They want to know how

well-connected you are in your industry and if you have the ability to form

relationships. For example, if you're lacking in connections this might lead

someone to believe that others just don't want to connect with you or that

you don't want to connect with others. This is a red flag to employers and it

could be an indicator of your lack of people skills so to beef up your network

start connecting with people you know personally and then move on to those

that maybe you haven't yet met in person but you have something in common with,

such as a shared connection, maybe you attended the same school, maybe you even

work for the same company. Now the goal here shouldn't be just to connect with

as many people as you can. You want to make sure that your connections are

going to be real relationships. So to do this, make sure you customize the

connection request when you actually invite a person to connect with you. Step

number four to make your LinkedIn profile stand out

is to get recommendations. One of the most powerful things you can do for your

LinkedIn profile is to secure some well-written recommendations. Now I

always say to get a recommendation you need to give a recommendation. So

pinpoint others in your network that you would like to receive a recommendation

from and compose a high-quality recommendation for them. Cances are

they'll return the favor and don't be afraid to ask for recommendations from

others. A good recommendation will include the qualities that you have that

make you unique in your industry, how the person knows you and what they are

recommending you for. Now here's the cool thing, LinkedIn always allows you to

proof your recommendation before you publish it to your LinkedIn page so if

there's something that's not quite right about the recommendation, don't feel bad

to go back to the person and ask them to revise it before you publish it to your

LinkedIn page. This leads us to step number five to make your LinkedIn

profile stand out and that is to get active. Recruiters and hiring managers

love to see candidates that are active on the platform. This means joining

groups and engaging in high-quality conversations with others inside those

groups. This also means creating your own posts

and articles and commenting, liking and sharing other people's posts and

articles. Another way to get active on LinkedIn is to follow the company pages

of positions you are applying for or even just companies you might want to

How to Make Simple Basil Pesto | The Stay At Home Chef - Duration: 2:00.

Today on The Stay At Home Chef

I'm showing you how to make

Simple Basil Pesto

Pesto is super easy to make and it's also super flavorful

It's a great use for all of that summer basil in your garden

or it's great to freshen things up in the winter time

To start place 2 cups of loosely packed fresh basil leaves

into a blender or food processor

Then you'll need 1/2 cup of freshly grated parmesan cheese

and I like to use the good parmesan for this

so just sprinkle that on in

You'll also need 3 cloves of garlic

and those can be whole garlic cloves

Then you'll need 1/3 cup of good quality extra virgin olive oil

and 1/4 cup of whole pine nuts

Now pine nuts can be a little bit pricey I understand

I buy them from the bulk bins at my grocery store

so I only have to buy exactly what I need

but if they're still too pricey you can also use the

same amount of either walnuts or pecans whichever one is cheaper

Then we're going to pop the lid on

and blend

You should end up with a nice smooth pesto mixture

If you want to thin it out a little bit more

just add a little bit more olive oil until you reach

your desired consistency

I'm just going to scoop mine into a jar

so that I can store it in the fridge

This will stay good in the fridge for 3 to 5 days

and you can use it as a spread for sandwiches

for pizza, for pasta, for gnocchi

It's just so good, you are going to love it!

Hi there. My name is Neil Zubot. You may have seen me in some of the other vlogs.

I was involved in the audio recording aspect of the Josephine Project trailer

that we did out in Greece. Just gonna talk a little bit about my faith journey

in this. Yeah. Early on, I had Ephesians 3:20 on my heart and it hasn't gone

away. I don't know, it just -- even after the the Kickstarter campaign hasn't

succeeded. Now, this has been on my heart: "Now all glory to God, who is able,

through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we

might ask or think."

Yeah. I'll just tell a little story about when we were on Lesvos. I just --

you know, a lot of the time when we were there we saw all these obstacles

come up but -- just felt like God was giving faith for trusting that he

has plans and he is going to accomplish things. So, it's just believing in

that. But you know we had so many, kind of, fall outs. And one big huge issue was

that we needed an actress on one of the last days when we just had a

small window of good weather left. And we were relying on this one person and she

fell out and we had nothing -- nothing left.

We had nothing else. And I just felt like, wow, I felt my faith fall. But then, 30

minutes later, you know, we get an actress to do the shots that we needed.

It worked out so great and it was just like, yeah, God bringing

us to the last minute and kind of bringing us through all this

difficult stuff. But his call just to like trust him for big things.

You know, it's a huge project just to to create this feature film that is

going out. And we don't even know what he would want to do. Like, how many

people he'd want to reach or how big he wants it. I think he'd want to see it go...

but, you know. I think -- I feel like his call: it's just been to trust and

to let him expand our boxes. Because we create these boxes around us, in our

lives, I think. And what we think God can do as opposed to what he can really do.

I just hope you can be encouraged and like in your own life also just to

trust God: that he's got like things bigger than you can imagine, and he wants

to do things that are new and fresh. And he does those kind of things.

He's a creative God and he just loves to expand and be creative and and show

the world who he is. Yeah, I hope that's encouraging in some way.

I'm great at design.

I'm great with the vision.

I'm great at sort of the strategy.

I'm really great at the aesthetic.

I'm really great at the brand.

My partner needs to be great at operations, manufacturing, warehousing, legal, finance,

all of that stuff that I don't love.

Can I do it?

A little, but I prefer not to.

I'd rather stay in my zone of genius and have someone really, really take on their

zone of genius, and be in mutual awe of one another.

Like I really believe that there is that yin and yang that does exist.

Like if I have yang energy someone needs to have yin energy to be a real perfect partner.

I think to have the right partner energetically you need to be a match and skill set wise

you need to be a match.

So yin yang like energetically and then yin yang from a skill set perspective.

We often like, we're like: "Both of us are super hyper!"

Even if you have other like skill sets than I do, that hyper-hyper-hyper might not work.

And if it's hype-calm, like the calm counterpart calms me down.

My hyperactiveness makes them more excited.

So that energetically works.

When from a skillset perspective, "I'm great at this, he or she is great at this,"

we're in mutual awe of each other both energetically and from a skill set perspective.

That is the perfect partner.

So I sit on the board of Conscious Capitalism and

I think Conscious Capitalism is really based on a stakeholder model.

Like every single person has to win, and I think in the past I was a little bit sloppy

in a stakeholder model in that we scaled so quickly, "just put butts in seats fast."

I didn't really think about a lot of things as you're scaling, which happens to most

entrepreneurs, and I think now it really is with Tushy I'm really, really deliberate

about the type of people I bring onto the team: really checking their background to

see if they really fit.

Before anyone gets hired they have to meet the whole team and the team has to give me

their feedback on what they think about this person, if they jive well.

It really is culture.

Culture trumps strategy every day of the week and twice on Sunday.

And in the past I certainly was a lot more sort of lax.

"Oh, you have a pulse?

Come join, we're busy.

We've got to grow."

And now, "What's your background?

Let me look at your social media," and if it's all selfies you know that's scary!

That's not a great person to have on your team if it's like selfie from every angle,

which means that they might not be a great team player.

And so and then calling references, doing background checks.

It's so important to do that and I just didn't, and I think to really create that

culture, to really scale a business requires doing that real work.

And with Tushy I'm so, so deliberate.

My new CEO role, I've interviewed 50 people for this role to really be that yin to my

yang and that opposite to my skill set.

And in the past I would have been like "Okay people, let's go."

And now it's "50 people?

Call all ten references of every one of them," and really had them meet all the team to make

sure that they liked the person.

It's really, really important to do that culture fit test which I didn't do in the

past.
